Short follow up on my previous post rambling about Rocky and the theme of water that surrounds him (Click here to see said previous post)

So to further prove my mad ramblings I direct your attention to the page Dithyramb from all the way back in volume 1 who's contents newer fans (*cough*Like me*cough*) may be familiar with from the pilot, which is Rocky talking about the Mississippi River

And we also have his bio art from the official website which has Rocky balancing on a moonshine barrel down a River, which I'd fairly guess is the Mississippi River (I know captain obvious here)

So that makes 5 examples so far of Rocky and his relationship with water, now to mentally prepare myself of the "What If" scenario that he drowns 😀👍(I will never be prepared)

Ayy fanart! And of Lackadaisy's Mordecai Heller no less! :)

Like my Property of Hate fanart, I am looong overdue for expressing my love for this comic! I found it in high school years back and I cannot understate the influence this comic had on me. I remember saving every character art and tutorial that Tracy J. Butler would post and it taught me so much about art. And in light of Lackadaisy's spectacular pilot coming out on youtube, I finally feel like I have the skills to express my appreciation towards this comic. :)

So, regarding the teaser for Lackadaisy Season 1 (beautifully made btw!), did anyone else notice this lil background sound effect?

Like, oh yeah, it’s an alley so it makes sense to have an alley cat to—… wait, huh??

Any theories on what (or, I guess who) is making that sound?🧐

But in all seriousness, the sound design in this teaser really is incredible, of course. It’s so fun rewatching to try and catch all the details that make it so immersive!

It was a normal Saturday you were hanging out with your friend rocky he was basically your only friend because you are kinda a antisocial kid

Everyone thinks your kinda weird and the only one who dared to talk to you was rocky and you have been friends every since!

The great thing is you lived across from rocky so you basically saw him 24/7 you also had a little tree in your front yard that had a swing

You were on the swing while rocky was climbing the tree “how can you get up there? it seems hard!” You asked you were never the type that liked nature or outdoors that much you mostly stayed in your house and read books the only true reason you go outside is because of rocky

“Well it’s pretty easy!” Rocky said smiling “I can help you up here if you want” rocky said “sure!” You said getting off the swing then rocky pulled you up the tree

“Woah it’s so cool up here!” You said a little excited “yep it’s fun climbing trees!” Rocky said as you both sat in the tree “how do you get out of the tree?” You asked “you just jump out!” Rocky said “oh ok” you said still sitting in the tree “y/n dinner” your parents called “oh I have to go now” you said “okay!” Rocky said “bye y/n!” He said “bye rocky!” You said jumping out of the tree

After dinner your parents wanted to talk to you about something but you didn’t know what it was you were a little nervous you were in trouble but this news would change your life forever!

“What is it mom and dad?” You asked “well don’t get upset…” your dad said “why would I be upset?” You asked “we are moving…” your mom said “noooo!” You said on the verge of tears “don’t cry sweetie!” Your dad trying to comfort you “I don’t wanna leave rocky!” You yelled crying “you will make lots of new friends” your mom said trying to be supportive “no I won’t!” You yelled crying “also why do we have to move anyways?” You said still crying “we can’t afford this house anymore” your dad said “so we have to move to a small apartment that is cheaper” your mom said “okay….” You said still crying then you went to your room

You were sitting on the porch of your house trying not to cry then rocky walked across the road to your house “hey y/n…” he said trying not to cry “hey rocky…” you said trying your hardest not to cry “I’m going to miss you forever!” Rocky said crying “me too!” You said crying standing up “you promise you will always remember and write me letters every single day!” You asked crying “y-yeah” rocky said crying “y/n time to leave!” Your parents said “bye rocky…” you said “bye y/n…” rocky said crying then you got in the car

It has been 13 years since moving day you are now 23 and surprisingly rocky kept his promise to send letters every day wether it’s random or about his day working at lackadaisy (he told you he work at lackadaisy a long time ago as he couldn’t keep a secret from his best friend) you decided you were going to move back to Mississippi and surprise rocky

You were waiting in your train with your luggage in your hand you were half asleep because you were too excited to sleep last night

Then you heard the loud sound of the breaks from the train which made you jump a little then you got up going on to the train

You were super excited as you sat there looking out the window you couldn’t wait to see rocky again and to catch up on everything that happened while you were gone just thinking about it made you do a tiny squeal from excitement but you tried not to be too loud but you were basically screaming on the inside (from excitement ofc)

When the train finally stopped you got off super excited then you realized it was super late and you couldn’t see rocky right away

You very kinda sad because of this but you knew you needed sleep before you went to see rocky

You went to your hotel got settled in and decided to go to sleep

~𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚔𝚒𝚙 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚗𝚎𝚡𝚝 𝚍𝚊𝚢~

You got out of bed and realized it was the next day

You jumped out of bed quickly grabbing your clothes getting dressed quickly then you ran out the door

You were too excited to eat or do anything you wanted to see rocky right now

It felt like millions of years since you have seen rocky and you were very excited to see him and not have to leave again

You ran out of your hotel room as fast as possible you didn’t care if people looked at you for running that fast you didn’t care too much

Then started walking out into the busy streets of Mississippi you had to walk as there was too many people and you didn’t not want to hurt anyone

Then you finally saw the little daisy cafe sign “bingo!” You said walking into the cafe then you scanned the room to see if rocky was there

You saw what you thought was rocky he looked very different from when you last saw him ‘wow he looks different…’ you thought to yourself blushing

You saw rocky and felt a little different then when you did when you were 10 a feeling you had never felt before about anyone you have ever met

Was it…love? You decided to sit at the booth behind him so you were nearer to him

You saw him eating pancakes which you thought was adorable but you continued to watch him trying to decide when the perfect time was

When he got done with his pancakes a second before he left you walked over “surprise” you said smiling “y/n!” Rocky said smiling hugging you tightly “I can’t breathe rocky…” you said then rocky put you done then you started gasping for air “you look different” rocky said blushing a little “you do too” you said “so y/n what are you doing here?” Rocky asked “well I’m moving back here” you said “for real!?” Rocky asked “for real” you said smiling “hooray!” Rocky said hugging you but not as tight “I will be getting a apartment soon” you said “for now I will be staying in a hotel” you added “oh that’s good!” Rocky said smiling “anyways we have so much to catch up on!” You said very excited

You and rocky have become closer and closer over the 6 months you have been in Mississippi and both you and rocky have developed feelings romantic feelings rocking decided he was going to confess to you next time he was going to see you… well he has been saying that for months but this time he was going to actually do it! But funny enough you decided to confess to him next time you see him!

“Y/n it’s nice to see you!” Rocky said smiling “we see each other every day basically” you said laughing “but this time it’s extra nice to see you today!” Rocky said smiling “y/n can I tell you something?” Rocky asked “I have to tell you something too!” You said laughing a little about how ironic it was you both had to tell each other something and even more ironic it’s going to be that your both going to tell each other the same thing! But you didn’t know that part yet! “Okay let’s say it at the same time!” You said “good idea!” Rocky said “3…2…1” you said “I have a crush on you!” You both said at the same time “wait you do?” Rocky said a little confused “wasn’t if obvious!” You said laughing a little “I’m slightly surprised you have a crush on me!” You said laughing “ well your a very attractive person” he said smiling “you flatter me” you said smiling blushing a little “well are we together now?” Rocky asked then you kissed him

Thank you Lackadaisy for giving me the Rocky with dynamite scene I never knew I needed. Here’s a tribute (in human form because my cat skills are lacking.)

For the unfamiliar: CHECK OUT THE PILOT! It’s a webcomic and now it’s an animation! It’s about cats and liquor! I’ve been reading this absolute work of art for over a decade and I’m just so so immensely proud of Tracy for getting the animation off the ground and for the comic as a whole, many thanks to the crew for the mind-blowing amount of work and all the love that went into this thing.
