A marca Japonesa volta a categoria depois de 17 anos, no novo regulamento “SUV” e vai se juntar a Chevrolet e Toyota como montadora, que terá motor 2.0 turbo , o modelo será o Eclipse Cross .

A marca esteve na Stock Car em 2006-2007 com a bolha do Lancer Evo 8, a marca Japonesa com muita história no automobilismo, principalmente no rally (WRC), Dakar rally, rally dos sertões , que muitos anos tem a Mitsubishi Cup no Brasil, que inclusive tem uma categoria com o Eclipse Cross a partir desse ano.

Será a volta mais “oficiosa” da Mitsubishi ao automobilismo , desde que a marca deixou o WRC em 2005 e o Dakar em 2011 , mesmo que no rally dos sertões do ano passado voltou a ter uma equipe de fabrica com o Guilherme Spinelli.
