ok. ok just. I love Dallon’s songwriting so much. There’s something about the way he uses patterns of repeated syllables and matches it up to the up and down beats of the music that makes my brain happy.

a couple of examples: fix-a-tion or psy-cho-sis, de-vo-ted to neur-o-sis now (3-1-3 syllables) I hear voi-ces, I see vi-sions, and these spi-rits are your pri-son (2 fast - 2 slow) I’m a vol-un tar-y vic-tim (the rhythm of the lyric echoes the guitar riff heard throughout the song)

of course, there are many other artists who use the same technique, but Dallon does it pretty noticeably with his lyric writing, and I think it’s great.
