this love - kang taehyun
prologue
synopsis: what happens when soccer player!kang taehyun, who isn’t focused on school but is smart enough to pass, sees yn walk in the hallways nearly everyday after homecoming. taehyun’s new hallway crush begins to grow into something bigger, but what happens when he has to make a choice between yn or continuing to fail school ? will taehyun be able to focus on sports, classes, and trying to win yn over ?
taehyun’s eyes lingered over to you, talking to his friends, as they gradually lost his attention. his eyes stayed stuck onto you, watching as you walked towards his way. in all honesty, he wished that his friends could just shut their mouths, not because he didn’t care about whatever they were talking about.. and don’t get him wrong he loved his friends. but he just wanted all of his attention on you. seeing the way you walked down the hallway, your eyes shining with joy, as you contained a pretty smile.
your arms held a math textbook close to your chest, rushing to your next class, worrying over the fact that you only had a minute to get to your advanced mathematics class. your eyes noticed the boy who was watching you from afar, smile growing even wider, and just as you were about to reach him, you went to the left, going down a different hallway. he looked back, watching as you just barely made it into your class.
and since that day that taehyun spotted you in the hallways.. he couldn’t help but see you nearly every single day. even within the large amount of students, taehyun’s attention was always wavered, no matter how much focus he had on a particular activity.. you were always at the center of his mind.
you took a seat lunch tray in your hands, small little smile resting on your face, enjoying the time you spent with your friends. observing your surroundings as they laughed and giggled while playing on the phone, as they took turns playing games on each other’s phones. your eyes wandered the area, noticing the rather noticeable face that you had grown accustomed to spotting in the hallways, his black hair resting just above his eyes. your eyes stuck on his figure watching as he got up from his seat at his lunch table, his eyes glancing over towards you.. and just like that: it was as if the world stopped. his eyes lingered over at you, his heart skipping a beat.
“-.. so yeah, that’s what happened and i was just so surprised because i just never saw it coming, y’know what i mean, yn ?”ningning rambled, peeking back to try to understand what you were looking at, but she ultimately failed as your eyes turned their attention back on her. following along with her statements while taking small peeks at the boy who also continued to glance over at you. smile plastered on both of your faces.
and maybe
this was the sign of a new beginning for taehyun.

One Sided
Description. You’d consider Choi Soobin your insufferably perfect class rival. Although it’s definitely one sided, cause he has no idea what the big deal is. In fact, all he can think of around you is the quickening of his heart and the blush spreading across his face.
Pairings. Choi Soobin x Female Reader
Genre. SMUT. Romance. Angst? (They argue a lot!)
Warnings. MINORS DNI! Unprotected sex (NO NO!) Soobin’s on the bottom, Oral (Giving and Recieving), Riding, and Degradation.
Word count. 5.8K
Note: This is low key corny.. I am so sorry <3 Enjoy my first fic of 2023
Ft. ITZY Ryujin, SKZ Hyunjin, TBZ Juyeon, Beomgyu and others.
You’re deflecting once again, swearing your eyes are about to roll into the back of your head. His grating voice following you as you move down the hallway. Beomgyu doesn’t let up though, continuing to insist on the topic.
“Go away,” You groan, though of course, he doesn’t listen.
“I’m just saying.” He defends, as if you’re not about to pull all your hair out.
“My life is not one of those shitty webtoons you read.” Referencing to the constant all nighter’s he pulls to rot his brain with cliche love stories. You knew it would ruin his rational thinking sooner rather than later.
“It could be if you weren’t so stuck up!”
This was a normal occurrence. No one was phased by Beomgyu hounding you about your love life in the middle of the hall. It happened every other day. Students no longer even spared you a passing glance.
You’re thankful as your friend Ryujin approaches you two, asking what all the commotion is. She usually isn’t one to buy into Beomgyu’s delusions.
“I’m telling you!” Beomgyu exclaims, recalling an argument that was had earlier. “I swore she was gonna be like ‘Oh you wanna kiss me so bad!’ Like she’s so into him that it’s gross!”
Ryujin nods, although skeptically. “Are you sure it wasn’t just two people arguing normally?”
“No,” Beomgyu shakes his head frantically. “Definitely some sexual tension there.”
“It’s just normal tension!” You interject, “I can’t stand Choi Soobin!”
“And we still don’t even know why..” Ryujin mutters, sighing.
“He think he’s so perfect.” You stomp. “Perfect grades, perfect family, perfect job, perfect car, and a perfect face! Dude’s so annoying.”
Beomgyu and Ryujin just share a knowing look and the latter just shrugs. “Whatever you say.” The two say before you part ways.
“I hate that we’re even involved in the same club.” You sigh to yourself.
You had joined photography club at your university during your freshman year. That’s when you had first met Soobin, the only other freshman to join. You weren’t even sure how to work a camera, but your were ready to learn. Eager to dive into this new activity, and nothing was going to stop you.
Regardless, you had a bit of trouble at first, which was normal.
Soobin, on the other hand, was submitting professional level photos to your club each week. It’s like he’d been taking photos forever. Though he had confided in you that he was indeed new to this as well.
It didn’t stop there either. He was a complete honor student, from a wealthy family, and a promising future ahead. He aced everything he tried at, but usually at his first try, where you found it impossible to keep up.
That pissed you off to no end.
You had never struggled before, so why now?
You had tried befriending him at first, you really had. I mean, it would have been convenient to do so. Soobin runs around with your people, making him pretty unavoidable. But you had a lot more trouble tolerating him than you thought.
He was just so good at everything, so effortlessly.
But you were determined to be better.
Which led to him becoming your self proclaimed enemy.
Though, Soobin was pretty oblivious to this fact.
Often only engaging in petty arguments with you to see that beautiful smile don your face when you win.
Letting you snag his ideal photography spots so he can watch your side profile as you photograph the flowers he discovered.
Even volunteering for class debates so he can have an excuse to stare at you for an excessive amount of time.
If it’s not obvious by now, Soobin has a raging crush on you. One that could only be bestowed onto him by demons from hell to be so cursed. Especially considering you disliked him so strongly for no real reason at all.
One would wonder just exactly how he got so unlucky.
-
Photography club meetings were usually held at 5 in the afternoon, only 15 minutes after your last class ended. Which led you usually sprinting across the courtyard to make it to the art department in time.
Beomgyu and Ryujin had gone missing after class, again without explanation. Leaving you to tread the walk all alone.
Not to mention that your class before was in the math building, on the opposite side of campus. Leaving you with a thin sheen of sweat usually covering you, probably leaving you smelly.
That’s what the perfume in your backpack was for though, and you were grateful for it. Glad you didn’t have to sit in there smelling like a wet dog.
Stopping right outside the room, you pull out the mini roller of your favorite perfume and start rubbing it on your neck and arms.
You fail to notice the figure approaching you as you cap the perfume and scramble to put it back in your bag.
“Oh hey-“
“Goodbye Soobin.” Is all you say before entering the classroom, barely sparing the tall boy a glance. You’re convinced he’s had enough girls ogling him all day, he’ll be fine.
He just trails behind you, a smile on his face. Like some sort of puppy (a lovesick one) following their owner.
Too bad you’re the only one who can’t see it.
This week the club president says you’ll be capturing portraits for members of the theater club, as their members are in need of head shots. Everyone nods along, you especially eager.
“It’ll be good practice! And some of you guys haven’t worked with a human subject yet, so this will be new!” Your president proclaimed with a cheery smile on their face.
You nod along, hoping you can get to the club first and pick the best subject. You had to outdo Soobin, these were going to be the best portraits ever. (Or at the very least, better than his.)
That’s all that’s going through your mind as you open the doors to the theater where the club meets. The sign telling you their meeting had ended as well.
You smile as you step into the room, cardboard and paints strewn across the floor. Lamps being painted along with garage sale tables that they are impressively restoring, for what you assume is their upcoming production.
You’re quickly approached by the president, who introduces himself as Juyeon. He’s actually quite frantic. “Excuse the mess, I forget we were going to have people come by.” He sheepishly smiles, as you reassure him that it’s fine. Though he seems embarrassed as he adjusts his glasses.
You two make small talk before he remembers why you’re there. “Oh I’m sorry, here let me get my vice, he knows who wants their photos taken.”
You nod as he walks away, must be a busy guy.
You take in the other people in the room, wondering if any of them fit your vision.
Did you want the boyish charm of Jake Sim? Or maybe the fierce model look of Huh Yunjin? How about femininity blast that was Isa Lee?
Juyeon returns fast with another boy by his side, who you assume to be the vice president.
And to say he was absolutely gorgeous, was an understatement.
He seemed to be the fourth, indescribable option.
“Hi, I’m Hyunjin.” He says, nodding your way.
“Do you need your photos taken?” You blurt out. “By any chance?”
You smile nervously as he nods, “I do, are you interested?”
“Yes,” You laugh. “Sorry if I’m too forward but you are exactly what I’m looking for.”
Juyeon’s eyes widen, “Hyun-”
“Well you’re also exactly what I’m looking for.” The aforementioned boy winks.
Oh you had it bad, you weren’t even sure how to respond. It’s been a long time since you even flirted with anyone, you’re probably about to make a fool out of yourself.
“I-”
“Juyeon!” A familiar voice yells from behind you. You knew who it was right away, you always did.
“Soobin!” The other boy runs towards the front. How did he know Soobin? And vice versa? You swore that boy was involved with everyone.
“I have to go.” You smile. “Here’s my number, text me so we can meet up and arrange a time to take the photos.”
Hyunjin nods and you make your way out quickly, ignoring Soobins attempt at greeting you. You always wondered why he even bothered at this point.
Which is exactly what you rant to Beomgyu when you meet him back at your room. He didn’t even bother texting in advance, so he can consider this his punishment. (Really, you were halfway with your shirt off when he started shrieking, which caused you to scream cause you thought your room had gotten broken into.)
“And he just always show’s up at the worst times, like-”
“Wait,” Beomgyu interrupts. “Let me get this straight.”
That statement never means anything good, so you cross your arms as you raise a brow. Telling him to get on with it.
“You meet this super hot guy, who like swept you straight off your feet, cinderella style, right? And we’re sure he was flirting with you..”
“Mhm.” You nod.
“And you’re meeting up with him soon, after you gave him your number?”
“Yes, Beomgyu, why are you being weird?”
“I’m not, just making sure I got this correctly.”
“Got what correctly?”
“That despite meeting your ideal man today,” He pauses. “All you can talk about is Soobin.”
You scoff, he didn’t get it. “Complaining. I’m complaining about Soobin.”
He rolls his eyes. “He’s still the only thing on your mind.”
You furrow your brows as you throw your jacket in his face. “You’re annoying.”
Beomgyu just laughs as he rolls over on your bed, reading something on his phone.
And the sudden silence makes you uncomfortable, because he has a point. You should be daydreaming about the beautiful boy you met today, not reveling in anguish over Soobin again.
“I’m gonna call Ryujin.” You speak up, about thirty minutes later. You close your laptop and turn to grab your phone, noticing Beomgyu is passed out on your bed. You knew he had been quiet for too long.
You pull the blanket over him and walk into your living room. Dialing Ryujins number, you sigh as it goes to voicemail. You remember that, unlike you and couch crasher Beomgyu, she had an active life. She was likely at a dance studio surrounded by other hot dancers, nothing new.
You’re about to head back to your room when you hear a faint knock at your door. Getting up, your mind reels on who could be coming to see you? You would expect Beomgyu, but seeing as he’s already here, you can’t say you know of anyone else.
And to your utter delight (Sarcasm) you’re met with Choi Soobin.
“Hi,” He smiles. “Is Beomgyu here?”
You just look at him, but really look. The way his brown hair perfectly compliments his skin. The dimples that are so prominent when he smiles. His long eyelashes and his perfectly shaped eyes.
His pink dusted cheeks.
Wait, pink?
“Is there something on my face?” He asks nervously, putting his hands up to cover it.
“What?” You ask, annoyance present in your tone.
“You were staring at me..”
“Shut up.” You speak, “I’ll get Beomgyu.”
Leaving him at the front door, you go and shake your friend, but to no avail.
“Psst, Beomgyu! Wake up!”
“Five more minutes.” He replies groggily.
You continue to shake him, “Ryujin,” He groans. “Just a few more minutes.”
“Ryujin?!” You shout, eyes widening.
Beomgyu shoots up at that, “You’re not... Ryujin.”
Your jaw drops at that, “Why would Ryujin be waking you?!”
“Why are you yelling?” He responds.
“We will talk about this later.” You say sternly. “Soobin’s here and I want him gone.”
“Why is Soobin here?” He questions.
“To get you.”
“We don’t have plans today.”
They didn’t have plans? So Soobin just showed up to show up? What did he want anyways?
“Well,” You speak. “He said he’s here for you!”
“But-” He starts, and you grab him by his arm to drag him towards the door way.
“Here he is.” You speak, ushering Beomgyu out.
“Thank-” Soobin starts but is cut of by you abruptly shutting the door in his face. You sigh, before seeing that Ryujin was calling you. Oh did you have a mouthful for her.
-
Picking at your food, you stare at your two friends in disgust. “You’re kidding right?”
Ryujin just smiles nervously, “He asked me to be his girlfriend.”
You furrow your brows, “That’s nasty, keep it to yourselves.”
Beomgyu snorts. “I told you we should’ve kept it a secret!”
“Remember how upset she was when she found out we were hooking up? I figured we should at least come clean now. She’s our friend too.”
“And I figured you two invited me here to talk to me, not about me like I’m not sitting right here.” You cross your arms.
Ryujins about to respond but you stop her. “It’s not a big deal, you two obviously like each other, and I’d be a shitty friend to be mad about it. Thank you for being honest with me.”
A huge smile grows on your friends face as he leans over the table to hug you. “I knew you were my best friend for a reason!”
You laugh, Beomgyu eyeing you. “You jealous?” You say, sticking out your tongue.
He narrows his eyelids at you before joining the hug, you laughing even more. “My two idiots, who knew you two would be so good together?”
“I did,” Beomgyu answers. “Duh.”
You playfully push him away as you notice a taller boy approaching you all.
“Hi,” Soobin greets quietly, “Can I talk to you?”
You don’t look up until you notice the other two not responding, meaning he was addressing you. “No thanks.” You say, going back to your food.
He remains standing awkwardly, moving forward. “It’s important.”
“Is someone dying?” You respond sarcastically.
“No, but-”
“Goodbye Soobin.”
Ryujin looks between you two and grabs your wrist before you can leave. “He needs to talk to you.”
You stare back. “I’m not in the mood.”
“You and I both know he wouldn't be this insistent unless it was important.”
Agreeing (although hesitantly) with her words, you motion for Soobin to follow behind you. He grins and rushes to catch up.
You two walk for about two minutes until you find a shadowed bench under a tree. You two sit down and you stare at him expectantly.
Too bad he completely forgets what he was there for. He knew you were pretty, but now that he was this close to you, he could see every detail of your face. If only you knew the way he felt about you.
“Soobin.” You speak, snapping him from his daze.
“Oh, yes.” He says, and you watch him rummage through his bag.
Then, in his hand, he holds out your favorite perfume roller.
You just stare at it, had it fallen out of your bag? How had you not noticed? It must’ve been a few day’s that it had been gone. And why was it half empty?
“I’ve been trying to give it to you but..” He trails as you snatch it from his grip.
“Why is it missing so much? Geez.” You say, annoyed as you observe it.
“It spilled in my bag, was very hard to get out the smell out.” He explains and you just stare at him in disbelief.
What would you even say to him? Thank him? Berate him? You weren’t sure.
“Well...” You start, rather awkwardly. “Thanks.”
“No problem.” He smiles, hoping you don’t notice that he’s more nervous than usual. His hands shaky and his face getting redder by the second.
You just shrug and grab your things, “I have to meet Hyunjin, so I’ll see you later.”
He nods, “Oh yes, good luck.”
You don’t usually give an explanation, but after he returned your favorite perfume to you safely, you felt you owed him a bit of kindness. He shouldn’t expect it from you again though.
He hated seeing you leave, but he loved watching you walk away.
Though, the boy was the last thing on your mind right now. Now your only mission was to find Hyunjin in the campus gardens, and so far you’re having trouble.
You attempt to walk back to get a better view of the area but you happen to bump into someone.
“Sorry!” You say, turning to face the boy you were looking for.
“It’s okay.” Hyunjin chuckles, bright eyes reassuring you.
You two sit down for a minute as you do some minor touch ups to his face using makeup. “Just so everything will show nicely.” You explain excitedly. “You have beautiful eyes, I want to make sure they just pop!”
“You have stunning eyes as well.” He says, looking straight into them. And at a proximity this close? You feel like you’re going to implode.
“Thank you.” You squeak nervously.
After a couple adjustments you turn your camera on. And as soon as you look through the viewfinder, you see Hyunjin looking picture perfect, literally. You’re shocked to see him pose so well. “Have you done this before?”
He just shakes his head, “Why?”
“You’re a natural.” You smile, clicking your first photo.
And the other photos that follow all come out extremely well. You turn the camera to show him and he nods. “These are great, you’re a natural as well.”
“Not really, its been months of me trying to learn all the controls on this thing.”
“Really? I didn’t know that.”
“Well we don’t exactly know much about each other.” You shrug.
He smiles, “I’d like to get the chance to.”
Your heart stops in your chest, “W-what?”
“Let me take you on a date.”
Your quick to shake your head, “I’m sorry Hyunjin, you’re really nice and all. But, I’m not looking for anything like that right now. I’m sorry if I gave off the wrong impression..”
He nods in understanding, “I understand, I’d like it if we could be friends though.”
And you agree.
-
“You said no to Hwang Hyunjin?!” Ryujin says, just a little too loudly for your taste. You attempt to shush her but she just stares at you with a dropped jaw.
“That’s what I just said Ryu!”
Beomgyu just about throws his head back in laughter. “Oh you idiot.”
“At least tell us why!”
You shake your head, “That’s the thing, I don’t know. I just don’t feel like we had a connection like that. And he doesn’t really even know me, he asked me out just cause he thought I was pretty. ”
“Well, hes trying to get to know you!”
“Guys like Hyunjin don’t get along with girls like me anyway.”
“Girls like you?” Beomgyu questions.
“I’m too busy, like we’d never have time for dates or anything. I just can’t give him what he wants.” You explain.
“You’re always so dodgy with boys, what are you so afraid of?”
“She’s just like this, always with the excuses.”
“Enough!” You interrupt sternly. “Leave it alone.”
You wanted to explode. Why did it matter so much? Why couldn’t they just leave it be? You didn’t want to go on a date with Hyunjin, you two just didn’t seem compatible. Who were they to say anything.
And with that, silence falls over the table.
“I’m going to go, I have film to develop.” You say, standing up to gather you stuff.
“Hey- no, we’re sorry, please don’t leave.” Ryujin follows, and you assure her its okay.
“I just need a minute, I’ll text you later.”
And you exit the building, your thoughts running a mile a minute. Had the library always felt so stuffy? Or was it just hot today?
You sigh, heading straight towards the art building.
A dark room and some silence would be ideal right now.
So you’re put off when you open the door to the red tinted room and spot a figure standing there. You sigh methodically, “Is it alright if join you?”
“Of course.” He responds, and you recognize the voice as Soobin.
Wonderful. Day ruined even more.
You mutter a quick thanks and move over to place your roll in the baskets.
“I’m almost done anyways, they just finished drying.” He shared. “Wanna see?”
Truth be told, you could truly care less to see. But, he was your competition, so you’d like an idea of what he did. “Sure.”
He passes the photos to you and you’re stunned to see, Juyeon? Out of his nerdy polo shirt and glasses, his hair done nicely, and sporting a smirk. He looked almost unrecognizable.
“Juyeon looks so...” You begin.
“Different? Right? That’s the angle I was going for.” He explains.
“How so?”
“Well you see, anyone can take photos of someone as photogenic as say, Hyunjin. But it takes real visionary to see potential in subjects like Juyeon, who really didn’t need much help at all. He just had to lose the glasses.” Soobin responds lightheartedly.
You feel your eye twitch, “Did you just take a dig at my photos?”
“What? No,” He denies. “I just meant we had two different outlooks that’s all.”
“And what?” You snap. “You assume your angle is better than mine?”
He shakes his head rapidly, but you’re already convinced. He’s backing up into the corner of the room as you get closer. “That’s not what I was trying to say.”
“I hate you.” You mutter out, closing the gap between you. “Everything about you has to be so perfect! It doesn’t make any sense to me!”
You don’t realize how close you’ve gotten towards him.
He’s backed up against the wall, and he has no idea what to say. So he does what seems the most rational with you being so close to him.
He kisses you.
You engage in the kiss, fiery and full of hate from your side. Though, all Soobin can feel is the passion, and he loves it.
He delves the kiss deeper, your tongue slipping past into his mouth, he just can’t get enough. He wants to drown in you.
Then you push him away.
Breathing heavy, you stare at him with big eyes. “What the hell was that?”
He pants as well, “I-I don’t know.”
You furrow your brows, “Bye Soobin.”
You turn to reach for your bag before he stops you. “I know you felt it too.”
Blinking blankly, you turn back towards him. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” But you’re lying, you know what he’s talking about.
You didn’t want to stop kissing him. It felt so right. All of it.
But you can’t let yourself think that.
“At least let me walk you home, It’s getting dark out.” He pleads, and you so desperately want to say no.
“I’m a big girl.” You state. “I can handle myself.”
“I know you can, but I would feel better if I knew you got home safe.”
You give it up, “Fine.”
And he rushes to get ahead of you so he can hold the door open for you.
“You don’t have to be nice to me just cause we kissed.” You murmured.
“I could say the same. You haven’t complained the whole time.” He says, and to be fair, it had only been five minutes that you both had been walking.
Nevertheless, you ignored him. Choosing to stare at the sky, which you noticed had started to go grey. “Uhh, it seems like it’s going to rain.” You whine.
“Look, my place is two minutes away from here. You can wait it out there.”
You throw your head back, you knew this was a bad idea. “Okay.”
Never did you ever expect that you’d be going home with Soobin. Okay, so that wording might be a bit dramatic, but still. You were here, stepping into Soobin’s apartment after he fumbled with his keypad to open the door.
It smelled like clean laundry and soap, which wasn’t a bad thing. Though, it was very prominent. Guess he was some what of a clean and tidy person.
“Is it cool if I sit on your couch?” You ask.
“Y-yes.” He answers.
“You have Netflix?”
“Not on this TV. Only the one in my room.”
“Who doesn’t have Netflix on their TV?!” You groan. How were you going to kill time now? Scrolling through Instagram? Candy Crush? You hoped putting on a movie would derail Soobin from speaking to you, or worse, further mentioning the kiss that had stayed unnerved in your body.
“We can...” He trails. “Watch it in my room.”
You sit up. “Are you sure?”
He avoids eye contact. “Yeah.”
“Lead the way.”
He begins walking towards the hallway when you pass an open room. You notice a cage, not able to clearly see the animal, so you ask. “You have a pet?”
His face lights up. “Oh, that’s Odi! He’s a hedgehog.”
You smile. “Can I meet him?”
He agrees and pushes the door open. “Oh, he’s sleeping.”
“He’s adorable.” You comment as you get closer to the cage.
“Hey Odi, wake up.” Soobin whispers. “She’s here.”
You look at him, confusion on your face. “Odi knows me?”
His face begins to turn red. “I told him about your biology project. You know, the ecosystem you created entirely from toothpicks and crayons. Best presentation that professor had ever seen.”
You nod, you remembered. But surprised that he also remembered.
“I also told him about the documentary you made for your final project in health class. My favorite part was when you were on camera, showing us all the different medicines.” He says, not taking his eyes off his sleeping pet. Not enough to notice you staring right at him.
That was months ago when you had done that. You had spent that entire night before editing it, making sure it was way better than Soobin’s. If it wasn’t for him, you probably wouldn’t have even cared that much.
“What else did you tell him?” You ask softly.
“That you were the smartest girl I’d ever met.”
You suck in a breath, trying to think of how to respond.
“And the prettiest too. So pretty that all I can think about is how bad I want to kiss her.” He pauses. “I was excited to tell him that today I finally did it.”
Soobin looks at you, and you think he’s going to kiss you again. And, you so badly want him to. But he doesn’t, instead he stands up.
“My room’s this way.” He speaks, and you follow after him.
He sits on his bed, searching around for the remote. He tries to stiffen a laugh as he comes up empty handed.
“I can’t find the remote, sorry.”
You cross your arms. “Do you even have a remote?”
“What?” He questions.
“I don’t see a TV in here.”
He freezes. “Uh- well.. I-”
You cut him off. “You didn’t invite me in here to watch Netflix. Did you?”
Before he can speak again, you notice something else.
“My perfume?”
And there, on his desk sits a bottle version of your favorite perfume. And it’s halfway empty.
“I can explain, it’s for my sister. She really-”
“Stop lying.” You spout. “Either tell me the truth, or I’m walking out of here.”
Soobin stays quiet as he weighs his option. Maybe he could think of another lie? Or?
“Goodbye Soobin.” You threaten, ready to turn around.
“No! Okay, here’s the truth. When the perfume fell out of your bag, and I picked it up.. It just smelled so good. So I sprayed it around my room so it could smell like you.” He squeaks.
“That’s not all, is it?”
“I-I..” He stops nervously. “I sprayed it on my pillow and I would smell into it when I..”
“When you what?” You demanded. “Say it! No time to feel guilty now.”
“When I would touch myself!” He admits, embarrassment covering his face.
“And then?”
“When I returned it.. I couldn’t get off without it. So, I went and bought a bottle of my own.”
You raise your eyebrows. “And here I thought that maybe you really were this sweet guy. I knew there was something off about you. You had everyone else fooled, but not me. I know no one is perfect.”
He remains still, eyes looking towards the floor.
“But I never would’ve guessed that you were a pervert who needed to smell me to get off. What, you would think about me too?”
He doesn’t respond.
“I asked you a question.” You sneered.
“Yes.”
“Oh don’t get all shy on me now. You weren’t shy when you were moaning my name as you touched your dick!” Then your eyes start to move, he was covering his crotch.
“Oh my God, don’t tell me you’re getting turned on by this?” And he still won’t look at you. Shifting in his seat so you won’t see his painfully obvious boner.
“Now you’re gonna show me.” You state and he stares.
“W-what?”
“You heard me. Show. Me.”
Soobin can’t believe you’re really asking him this. His dream girl, standing right in front of him, degrading him to no end. He loved it.
He slowly starts unbuckling his belt before you grab his hands and begin doing it yourself. “Stupid..Soobin..” You mutter, “Can’t even unbutton your own pants. This better be worth it.”
And it was, as his aching dick flops out from his pants. You had never seen a dick so pretty, or so big. You were beginning to worry you may have gotten a bit ahead of yourself, would this even fit in your mouth?
“W-what? Is it too small?” He asks nervously, afraid of why you were staring at it for so long.
You look at the dumb boy above you, there was no way he didn’t know. Was there? You needed him in you, regardless of the fact that he knew it or not.
You ignore the question and spit on his cock, rubbing it slightly over the slit. “I’m gonna suck your dick now.”
And he can’t respond before you take him deep into your mouth. He lets out a breathy moan, before you start fondling his balls. God, he was in heaven right now.
You pull off slightly, kissing the tip softly as you then begin to swirl your tongue around it. He whines, wanting to beg you to stop teasing, but he’s in no position to demand anything right now.
You then take him back in, deep throating him as he starts squirming, you holding his thighs down to keep him in place. He’s pleading in incoherent mumbles, and you can tell he’s probably close.
Pathetic, he’s about to cum just from a little head.
“P-please.” He begs, and you pull off.
“Not yet.” You say, moving to take your bottoms off. “I want to ride you.”
Soobin thinks he’s going to die.
But he’d die a happy man.
With the way you climbed on top of him, after shoving him on his back, he imagine the view couldn’t be better. You kiss him on his neck. “ I’m gonna ride you until you’re cumming all over me, baby. Consider it an apology.”
He moans in response, praying this isn’t all a dream.
“Take your shirt off.” You instruct, leaning back.
“You first.” He responds, his words getting away from him, and you just about slap him.
“You’re not in control here, okay? I am, you owe me for being such a disgusting pervert. You’re lucky I’m even asking to stick your tiny dick anywhere near my pussy!”
He felt so odd seeing you spout such vulgar words again, but he found it so attractive.
Soobin follows your orders, throwing his shirt off of his head. You follow as you begin peeling your shirt off, before leaning forward. “Unclasp my bra.”
He fumbles with the back for a couple seconds before his giant hands let your bra fall off your shoulders. “There we go, not so useless after all, huh?”
You take notice of his fingers, struggling to stay still as they shake. You’d love to see them inside of you, but perhaps that would have to wait another day.
Soobin wants to respond but hes cut off by you lowering yourself onto him, and hes never felt anything so good. You’re so tight, constricting around his dick immediately, wet and prepped just for him.
You moan out a little, careful to try and control them. You couldn’t let him know how good this was making you feel, you wanted him to be ashamed.
His length was so pretty, angry red tip with a prominent vein running through the side. Not to mention you loved the way he stretched you out, unlike anything you had felt before, it was going to be hard to avoid him after this.
“So good.” You groan out in pleasure, your judgement impaired as you freely let a moan out.
“So tight.” He reveals, nails digging into your thighs.
You continue bouncing on his thick cock as he squeaks out again and again. Whimpering into the air “This is better than I imagined, fucked my fist to you so many times.”
And that elicits a string of moans out of you, if only he knew what he was doing to you, you swear you could feel him in your stomach.
“Want to sit on your big cock forever.” You mutter into his ear as you place your hands on his shoulders, using them to pull you up. “Can I, please Soobin?”
He thrusts up, hips quivering as he grinds into you. “Of-of course.”
His hands wander lower, grabbing onto your boobs, twisting your nipple gently as you wince. He’s about to pull back when you grab his hand and keep it in place. “Don’t stop.”
You only last a few minutes longer before the coil begins to form in your area, promising to burst any minute now. “I’m gonna cum.”
“W-wait for me!” He stutters, looking into your eyes. “I’m so close.”
You nod and he hisses, your walls swallowing him in so well.
Gaining consciousness again, you pull yourself off of him. “You can’t cum in me.”
Hes about to reply when you lean back and slip his dick into your mouth again.
“Oh just like that.” He exhales, before he releases his load into your throat.
You pull away and stare up at his cherry red face as you open your mouth to display the liquid in between it.
“Fuck.” He groans, you were so hot.
You began playing with it, swirling it around with your tongue, letting it dribble down your chin. His eyes never leave you as you close your mouth and swallow proudly. “Yum.”
Soobin wants to help you now, and hes eager to please.
But before he can process whats happening, your thighs are straddling his head as you sink your plush down onto his face. He acts accordingly and swirls his tongue around your puffy nub. He wants nothing more than to see your fucked out face right now, but unfortunately, he can’t see much from there.
However, your beautiful moans made up for it.
“Fuck- YES!” You squeal as he dives his tongue into your heat.
“Perfect-AGH!-Yes just like that” You pant as you start chanting his name out.
Soobin, Soobin, Soobin, Soobin, Soobin.
Nothing else, just the thought of Soobin eating you out like you’re his last meal. Who knew he’d also be this good at giving head?
Your thighs clench around his head, telling him your close to your climax.
He sucks on your area a bit and there it is, your beautiful release covering his face. You practically scream as you come down from your high, surely alerting his neighbors.
You hesitantly remove yourself from his face, legs shaking and all. Silently hoping he wouldn't think you cumming all over him was gross.
But he thought the exact opposite, he thought it was fucking hot.
“Can I shower?” You ask, still breathing heavy.
“Y-yes.” He responds. “It’s the first door on the left.”
You look back at him. “I didn’t mean alone.”
Yeah, he was done for.
-
BONUS!
Ryujin was going to pull her hair out. “You and Soobin?”
“What the fuck.” Beomgyu exclaims. “I was right?”
You sigh, “For once.”
“Holy shit,” Ryujin speaks again. “You and Soobin.”
“You’re acting so blonde right now Ryujin.”
“Well forgive me that you got dicked down by the boy you said you hated every single day! I have a right to be surprised.”
“First of all, I didn’t get dicked down. I was very much up.” You nod.
“You’re a bigger idiot than I thought.”
“Soobin’s a bottom?!”

you don't go to parties ☆.* 7
⊹ pairing: choi yeonjun × f! reader
⊹ genre: exes to ... complicated
⊹ warnings: just my usual awful writing + procrastination, and mention of heavy drinking involved
⊹ wc: 4.1k
summary: back in your college days, you were living at the prime of your life alongside your boyfriend, yeonjun. you couldn't remember most of it, though, considering it was a blur consisting of mostly parties and many drunken nights. eventually, you reached your limit, and you and yeonjun no longer saw eye-to-eye. after many fights and endless tears, you disappeared for good and left that life and your boyfriend behind.
but, five years later, yeonjun was still waiting for you at every party.
the light emanating from the phone was unmistakable, even from just the mere corner of his eye. the second the screen lit up, yeonjun could be caught lunging for the device within a matter of seconds. his heart was practically pounding against his ribcage as his eyes quickly scanned over the notification.
just as quickly as the device lit up, the lock screen faded to black – allowing yeonjun to meet the eyes of his disappointed reflection yet again.
ever since that day at music bank, he foolishly allowed himself to hope and eagerly await for the moment your name would finally flash across his screen. regardless of whether he was at home, in the studio, or even out on one of his schedules, he always ensured to keep at least one eye on his phone for the moment you would contact him.
any time his phone did shine to life or produce some sort of noise, yeonjun would stop everything he was doing to reach for the device and see if it was you.
it never was.
in fact, for the past four days, your name still had yet to appear.
thus, yeonjun found himself succumbing to old habits - nursing bottle after bottle to intoxicate his mind and distract himself from obsessing over you.
of course, it wasn't like he was completely without reason. he was more than capable of conjuring up a multitude of possible explanations as to why you might not have had the chance to reach out to him yet.
the unfortunate part was that, with every reason he thought of, his drunken mind would only get angry with a rebuttal of its own.
at first, he was more than certain that your job had to be keeping you busy at all times. seeing as he had first-hand experience with the daily schedule of an idol himself, yeonjun could reasonably assume that you would have your hands quite full with both of those annoying dogs, er.. friends of yours.
and then he would drink far too much, strewing himself lazily over his kitchen counter, while he stared blankly at the dark screen of his phone.
how busy could you possibly be ?!
schedules don't last 24 hours, you have had more than enough opportunities to send one text .. just one .. that's it..
"this is getting pathetic," taehyun mumbled under his breath, shaking his head one morning as he found yeonjun passed out on the couch with empty soju bottles scattered all over the ground.
after eventually having a full bottle of water dumped all over his face, yeonjun quickly sat up coughing and sputtering - looking around the room and taking a minute far too long to remember where he even was.
once he processed reality long enough to finally acknowledge taehyun's presence beside him, his brows furrowed together with the utmost irritation. "what the hell was that for?!"
"that? what the hell is all this for?!" taehyun retorted, unable to help himself from uncharacteristically raising his own voice. "when i told you that you needed to distract yourself, this isn't what i meant!"
following taehyun's gesture, yeonjun's eyes scanned over the ground to see the discarded empty bottles decorating the floor. truth be told, he really had no memory of drinking any of it last night.
before he could open his mouth to formulate any sort of sentence, taehyun beat him to it. "this isn't healthy. your obsession over this is ... it's not good for you, man."
"you were the one who-"
"no." taehyun was quick to stop him. "i told you that you needed to properly apologize to her, which, by the way, you still haven't done. obsessing over your phone and waiting for her to reach out to you? that's the complete opposite and, quite honestly, insane."
although he did understand taehyun's words, yeonjun's instant focus was on the mere mention of his phone. his hands mindlessly began patting the pockets of his sweatpants before feeling all around him for the device. the longer it took for him to find it, the more panicked he began to feel.
what if this was the one morning you finally messaged him? and he was missing it because he couldn't find his phone?!
"this is exactly what i'm talking about," taehyun groaned, reaching into his own pocket and pulling out yeonjun's phone so as not to drive the idiot any further off the edge than he already was.
seeing him attempting to lunge for the device, taehyun was quick to sidestep and avoid yeonjun's grubby hands before shoving the phone back into his pocket.
"what the fuck, tyun, just give me the phone!"
the pair of them went back and forth for far too long, even going as far as wrestling each other, before taehyun managed to pin yeonjun helplessly to the ground.
of course, yeonjun largely blamed his current hangover for his loss, but taehyun wasn't so sure.
after taking a minute to catch his breath, yeonjun stared blankly up at the ceiling as sobriety finally began to clear the insanity from his mind. "fine.. you're right."
"thanks, i usually am," taehyun managed to joke, standing up before lending yeonjun a hand as well.
running his hands through his hair, though doing nothing to actually tidy up the mess on his head, yeonjun then sighed in exasperation. "what am i supposed to do then? at least when i'm drunk, i can't remember anything."
"we have an award show next month already, have you practiced for it at all?"
the deafening silence was enough to answer his question.
with a much healthier distraction in mind, taehyun managed to lead yeonjun out of the house and toward the company in order to focus on an activity that did not primarily involve staring into a blank phone screen.
truth be told, yeonjun had to agree that there was nothing better to distract himself with than immersing his entire mind and body into practicing and perfecting his choreography for his set next month. in fact, he felt rather guilty for not having thought of it in the first place.
eventually after hours of consistent practice, seeing as they both appeared to be satisfied by the playback recording, taehyun suggested stopping by the cafeteria for a meal before heading home.
"no, i think .. i think i'm going to keep practicing," yeonjun told him, grabbing a towel from the bench to dry off some of the sweat that accumulated on his face.
taehyun furrowed his brows together, refusing to allow his own friend to subject himself into anymore unhealthy behaviors.
"look, you're coming with me whether it's voluntary or not, so i highly recommend you choose the path of least resistance," taehyun warned, shrugging casually as he removed his shirt drenched in sweat in order to change into something cleaner before they left. "have you even eaten at all today?"
truthfully, it was hard to determine what was louder: the silence from yeonjun's inability to answer or the perfectly-timed growl that erupted from his stomach.
now that he was actually taking a moment to breathe, yeonjun could feel the exhaustion from dancing and the hunger catching up to his body. that being the case, he couldn't quite afford, or even bother, putting up any sort of fight.
thus, taehyun found it rather easier than normal to drag yeonjun along with him to the cafeteria within the company.
two freshly ordered bowls of ramyeon later, that's how yeonjun finally ended up eating - or, rather, devouring - his first meal of the day by 9 o'clock that evening.
the pair ate in silence as they sat across from one another, the only sounds between them being from the slurping of their noodles and the sips of their sodas.
yeonjun had to admit, it was rather calming. he was grateful to taehyun for the distraction he provided, as well as the delicious meal.
taehyun, on the same hand, was just as glad to see at least the hint of a smile on his friend's face again.
of course, it only lasted so long before the brief moment of silence was inevitably interrupted with questions and doubts tumbling out of that very same mouth.
"do you think she just forgot?"
taehyun couldn't hold back the sigh that escaped his lips as he set down his chopsticks, his head shaking almost pitifully. a part of him felt that the most logical response would be the one of harsh honesty, in order to finally push yeonjun toward the path of acceptance and moving on.
unfortunately, considering the underlying feelings of guilt twisting in his chest at that moment, taehyun figured it best to attempt playing the role of a comfort for now.
at least, just until yeonjun was ready to make the choice for himself.
"it's possible," he answered simply, his eyes averting down to his ramyeon bowl as he began mindlessly twisting the noodles around his chopsticks. "considering she manages beomgyu, i'd imagine she has her hands full more often than not."
yeonjun let out a soft, half-hearted chuckle, nodding lightly. "yeah ...yeah, maybe."
chewing on the inside of his cheek, yeonjun could feel his fingers naturally itching to reach for his phone that resided in taehyun's back pocket, desperate to check his notifications for any sign of your name.
this was probably the longest he had ever gone without double and triple checking his phone for a message from you. it had been taehyun's insistence that yeonjun be completely separated from his phone for the rest of the night, in hopes of putting a start to breaking this incessant habit of his - or else yeonjun would certainly wind up driving himself mad.
clearing his throat amidst the awkward silence that had settled between them now, taehyun spoke up, "look, you need to get some proper rest tonight. you have the day off tomorrow, so you should focus on finding some way to relax to help get your mind off of all this."
his words practically served as a reminder to yeonjun's exhaustion, his eyelids suddenly feeling much heavier than they had just a minute ago.
yeonjun nodded firmly in agreement, sitting up straighter and stretching his arms above his head in order to wake himself up a little. "yeah, that's probably a good idea."
he would never dare say the words out loud, it would be completely out of his character, but yeonjun was deeply grateful to have a friend like taehyun in his life. despite how obnoxious and unbearable he felt he could be sometimes, taehyun always stayed by his side through it all and remained his biggest support.
"here, i'll throw all this away and then we can head home," taehyun offered, breaking yeonjun out of his sappy thoughts as be began gathering their empty containers to discard them in one of the trash bins nearby.
just as taehyun had stepped away from the table, the softest buzz of a notification emitted from the phone that was resting atop of the table.
by pure instinctive nature at this point, yeonjun practically lunged for the phone before he could even register his own movements.
his heart stopped almost instantaneously, unable to believe his own vision at the sight of your name across the screen. yeonjun was positive his entire nervous system short-circuited in that moment, seeing as he lost all ability to breathe.
just as he was about to burst with excitement, the corners of his lips dropped and the light disappeared from his eyes almost as quickly as it had appeared.
he gently set the phone back down to where it had originally been resting, feeling himself beginning to slowly shut down entirely. all of that progress he made today seemingly for nothing..
maybe .. maybe he was just seeing things. it couldn't have been you, it just ... it couldn't be.
his downcast eyes glanced back over toward the phone screen that was left facing upward on the tabletop, watching as your name lit up for a few seconds more before the screen went black.
yeonjun clenched his jaw in order to suppress his emotions.
just then, taehyun returned to the table with a small smile gracing his lips, absent-mindedly reaching to grab his phone that he had left behind. he meets yeonjun's eyes innocently. "you ready to go?"
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
much to your own surprise, within the same five day period after music bank, yeonjun had managed to secure a small space in your mind entirely rent-free.
nothing like how you occupied his every thought, but he was there nonetheless.
you blamed the ridiculous music recommendations constantly displaying and urging you to listen to the very song that you were insistent on avoiding. it was as if your own phone was determined to taunt you on the matter.
eventually, you couldn't resist anymore.
in the quiet of your room by the end of the third day after music bank, you were practically locked in a staring contest with the dreaded play button. you were hugging your legs to your chest as your heart was pounding a little harder than normal, just the thought of hearing the very words he wrote about you making you extremely nervous - not to mention that it'd be his voice singing them to you.
once you came to the realization that you were acting rather pathetic - it was just a song at the end of the day - you finally overcame your nerves and decided that all you needed was a bit of support.
looking to your left, you spotted the precious fox plush that kai had gifted you residing on the empty space of your bed. smiling softly, you reached for the soft toy and hugged it to your chest, feeling slightly better knowing that you had a piece of your best friend with you.
one deep breath later, you finally hit play.
truth be told ... you were torn.
your heart was aching as you recalled the painful memory of your breakup, yet you were also partially confused and rather angry at how you felt you were portrayed.
just as you had predicted, yeonjun managed to paint himself as the victim - telling this story of how his ex spoke so cruelly as she broke up with him.
but that wasn't the case.
you never spoke harshly to him, no, you only ever tried to reason with him when he was always the one throwing things out of proportion and putting words in your mouth.
worst of all, you weren't the one that left. he was the one who pushed you away ... he was the one that told you to leave.
you groaned with annoyance, lifting your phone from the bed and shutting the song off before it could dare to repeat itself.
after a brief moment of silence, in which you allowed yourself to calm down, you weakly wiped away the trail of tears that had cascaded down your face. regardless of the anger that you did feel, you also felt that faint twinge of pain in your heart as your mind raced with memories of the aftermath.
if anything, you probably related more deeply with yeonjun's song than he did.
you blankly stared down at your phone as you thought back to yeonjun's pleading eyes and uncharacteristic behavior asking you to let him know your thoughts about the song.
against your better judgement, along with the influence of it being almost 2 in the morning, you figured .. maybe it wouldn't hurt.
just as you were opening up your messaging app to succumb to your impulsive vulnerability, it then dawned on you that you had no way of contacting him in the first place.
he didn't actually think you'd keep his old number around after all these years, did he??
you scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief. you could certainly imagine that this was some sort of game to him - probably wanting to see if you'd be desperate enough to go around searching for a way to contact him.
absolutely not.
then, your eyes lit up with a sudden reminder of a number you did have.
biting nervously at your bottom lip, your heart raced uncontrollably as your thumb practically grew a mind of it's own and opened up a new chatroom to a certain secret admirer.
or ... you suppose it wasn't exactly a secret anymore.
with half a rational mind left as the clock officially turned 2 a.m., you luckily figured it best to not send your very first message to him in the middle of the night.
unfortunately, by morning, you lost all confidence and had absolutely no clue what you could possibly say to him.
"have you tried using 'hi' before? i hear that's very effective in starting conversations," beomgyu teased, after you had confided in him the dilemma you were dealing with.
not entirely by choice, though. it was more so that he barged into your office and caught you staring at the empty chatroom that left you no choice but to explain yourself.
"wow, gyu, thank you so much for that insight." your response was dripping entirely with sarcasm. "i don't know what i'd do without your help."
beomgyu couldn't help but to laugh, honestly finding it rather funny to see you acting so worked up over the thought of sending such a simple message.
with another chuckle, he ruffled your hair playfully as he then offered another suggestion. "fine fine, why don't you just say hi and also thank him again for the gifts he got you?"
your head tilted slightly as you contemplated the idea over in your mind. surprisingly, his idea wasn't such a bad one after all. thinking it over some more, it was actually the perfect leading opener to offer treating him in return as a show of appreciation.
thus, the message was officially drafted and prepared to send at any moment!
...
any second now, surely...
"oh my God, are you ever going to hit send?" beomgyu groaned dramatically from beside you, causing you to grow all the more nervous and embarrassed.
beomgyu checked the time on his phone, noting how it had now been 5 long minutes of your message remaining unsent as you probably hoped the send button would magically click itself.
"i'm nervous, okay? i've never done this before!" you attempted to reason, feeling all the more embarrassed that beomgyu was the sole witness of your situation at the moment.
you could bet that kai would be more understanding..
"then i'll do it for you," beomgyu deadpanned, reaching over and hitting send before you could even register his words.
as upset as you wanted to be, you were honestly more relieved than anything else. although the way he went about it wasn't entirely ideal, at least he got it over with.
though, now panicked, you exited the chatroom and locked your phone before shoving it away as if it were some sort of infectious disease.
this caused beomgyu to burst out in laughter, shaking his head at how adorable you were being. he had never seen you act like this for the entire time he has known you.
"stop laughing!" you pouted, smacking his arm lightly, though it only managed to encourage him further. "i knew i should've called kai.."
"wait, wait, wait.. kai doesn't know yet?" beomgyu's mood quickly shifted into that of curiosity, his expression rather surprised at your words.
"well, no, not-"
"finally!" beomgyu cut you off to cheer, standing up and raising his arms proudly. "i finally know something he doesn't!"
you roll your eyes, shaking your head. "oh, come on, i always tell you everything too. kai's just usually around first, that's all."
beomgyu scoffed, sitting back down in the chair that he had dragged behind your desk to sit beside you. beomgyu may be a lot of things, but he wasn't blind; he was more than aware that you and kai held a much closer friendship with each other than either of you did with him.
not that he blamed either of you, considering you both knew each other longer than him, but that didn't mean he couldn't be jealous about it from time to time.
his eyes widened with an idea, and he leaned over to grasp your hands pleadingly. "please don't tell him!"
you blinked, taken aback. "tell him what?"
"about this, with taehyun. let's keep this between us," beomgyu explained, and you were shocked to see genuine sincerity in his expression.
a part of you was feeling guilty as you studied beomgyu's features, but you weren't entirely sure as to why.
"why do you want this to stay between us?"
he sighed, turning his face away slightly in order to attempt hiding the embarrassed blush that was beginning to color his cheeks. "i don't know, i just ... i want to share something with you too. you and kai are always together, i'm sure you guys even have your own secrets and i get that, but i just .. i feel left out sometimes, you know?"
you could feel your heart almost break at his words, feeling all the more guilty to have ever been the cause of sweet beomgyu feeling anything less than he deserved. "oh, gyu.. i'm so sorry. i never meant for you to-"
"no, no, i know you didn't!" surprisingly it was beomgyu reassuring you, smiling softly as his thumb gently caressed the back of your hand. "it just happens to be that way, and i get it, don't worry."
you squeezed beomgyu's hands lightly in reassurance, a small smile adorning your lips as you met his eyes. "i promise this will stay between us, okay?"
you don't think you could recall any other time where he smiled so widely, most especially at something so miniscule as a secret like this.
"but you can't get mad when i start calling you all the time asking for advice," you warned him with a teasing smile, tapping his nose lightly and playfully.
"are you kidding? that's exactly what i want," beomgyu smiled back.
thus, you stuck to your promise and kept everything involving taehyun between you and beomgyu.
which was very lucky because, without him, you don't think you would have had any courage to make it as far as you have.
taehyun: you're more than welcome. it was really no problem at all, it just means a lot knowing that you appreciated them.
you: of course i did, and i would love to be able to return the favor! if you're free tomorrow, maybe we can meet up for lunch :)
"you're crazy, i can't meet him tomorrow!" you exclaimed with shock, watching over beomgyu's shoulder as he typed out the very message that was making your heart race with nerves.
"why not?"
you hesitated. "because i'm nervous." your voice was embarrassingly soft.
"alright, fine." he turned back to your phone and began deleting the last portion of the message, though only to tweak it slightly before hitting send without consulting you first.
you: of course i did, and i would love to be able to return the favor! if you're free this weekend, maybe we can meet up for lunch :)
you shrieked with shock, yanking your phone out of his hands as if it would take back the action. he may have given you a few more days to prepare yourself, but it still didn't make it any better!
beomgyu smirked up at you, seemingly shameless. "you can thank me later."
"thank you??"
"oh, you're welcome," he beamed brightly with pride, earning another soft smack on his arm. "look, it'll be fine! you already know he's into you, right, so what's the problem?"
you opened your mouth to answer, but you couldn't think of anything that was justifiable.
amidst that moment of no words being spoken, your office door opened up to reveal none other than kai walking in with a curious expression upon seeing you and beomgyu alone together.
a sight he realized he wasn't used to seeing.
"what're you guys doing?" he asked, rather confused as he noticed the way beomgyu attempted to slyly slide your phone back to you.
"nothing, beomgyu's just being beomgyu," you answered nonchalantly, even adding an eyeroll in hopes of it coming off natural and lighthearted.
luckily, kai brushed it off as simply nothing and joined you both to hang out for an hour before you all eventually had to go your separate ways for different schedules.
on the way to your meeting with other members of the staff team, during a brief moment alone in the elevator, you pulled out your phone to double check your messages - only for your heart to flip into your throat as your face practically began to glow a bright red.
taehyun: that sounds great. i'll pick you up saturday.

little scenarios
pairing: txt x 6th!member, platonic
warnings: nothing too bad i think, maybe some cursing and crying
this is like an extendeed version of my little things series! just instead of bullet points it's little scenarios. for comparable work, check out care, on my bts masterlist
When you first joined the group there was a bit of controversy about it. Granted, you had joined them as the last member to be added, but you had still debuted with them. It was what attracted the most attention to your debut. Five tall guys and one short girl? You were also the youngest, so you were still a minor at debut. It took a while in order to get to the point where people seemed to be genuinely interested in your talent instead of how crazy or ridiculous it was for you to be in such a group.
Unlike the general public, the guys never really seemed to care. When you were added, there was a few days of panic. Were you all going to share a dorm? Would you even be comfortable that? Then, when you moved in, that changed to the topic of how to not accidentally walk in on you and what to do.
You had been nervous, too. You had worked as hard as you possibly could and then some in order to make this happen. You just got handed the opportunity of a lifetime and what if they didn’t recognize how hard you had worked in order to prove that you had the talent and the backbone to handle this opportunity?
But then you actually started working together, and everything seemed to fall into place,
Debut performances made anyone nervous, anything could go wrong, and what if you secretly weren’t as good as you thought? But you were nervous for a different reason about your debut. You didn’t mind being the only one given a skirt while the guys were in suits on some sort, and you didn’t mind the shoes they gave you to make you a little taller and to monopolize on the cute look you were supposed to have… but the skirt was really short, and the shoes only seemed to magnify that.
During the little interview beforehand, you had been given a jacket to lay over your lap. You were grateful for that but now that you were going over the moves in front of the mirror before you had to actually perform, you couldn’t help but notice that while your outfit was cute, the last thing it was is functional. When you practically flashed yourself in the mirror you decided enough was enough and shyly moved to find Soobin.
He was talking to someone that looked like a staff member for the show you were performing on, and you stood by him, anxiously clasping your hands together as you waited. You tried to hold out until he could give you his attention all by himself but knowing that time until the stage was closing in, you finally reached out and anxiously tugged on his sleeve. He looked down at you finally, eyes widening slightly as if he was surprised to see you there. He must have seen the anxious look on your face because the first thing he asked was, “What’s going on?”
“Uhm.” You began. “I could probably tough it out if it’s an issue, but is there any way I could borrow someone’s jacket or something?” Your little voice was practically a whisper and he had to lean down a little to hear it, but he got the message. He pulled away a little to look down at you and his jaw dropped when he realized just how much of you he could see. He moved to cover you a little, slipping his hand into yours.
“Let’s go find your stylist.” His cheeks burned with a blush as he kept his eyes straight ahead, looking for the woman in question. When he found her going through her makeup supplies, he immediately started in. “Can we get a better skirt? Honestly, change the whole outfit if you have to, but she cannot perform in that.”
She looked at him, confused. “But.. she looks fine, and she wore it for the interview, so if she’s the only one who changes outfits then it could spread rumors about her being a diva..”
Soobin stared at her, face blank. “I don’t care. Respectfully, she is not only a minor, but she’ll flash the whole audience if she goes out there dancing in that.” He was trying to be as respectful as possible but he was just getting the vibe that she just didn’t want to go through the effort of changing the outfit, and you looked so scared behind him, he felt something surge in his chest. He was ushered out the door so you could change finally.
When you came back out only minutes before the performance in a longer skirt and with a much more comfortable look on your face, he was satisfied. When you gave him that big, happy smile and went, “Thank you,” all shyly, he felt his chest swell with pride for helping you as a person and as your leader. “Any time,” he said softly. “Now, you ready to go blow the world away?”
Sure, not all of the moments shared were happy, especially in the beginning.
If there was one thing Taehyun liked doing, it was fucking with you- sometimes, at the expense of others. The entire dorm was woken up at seven in the morning to the sound of your screaming. It was alarming in itself, but when you were the only one with your own room, it became an emergency. However, when they went to open the door, and all they saw was you on top of Taehyun and hitting him with one of your textbooks while he laughed uncontrollably, they didn’t know what to do at first. Finally, Beomgyu moved to tug you off of the younger boy, taking away the book.
“What is going on?” Soobin asked sleepily, but Taehyun was still cackling. “Oh, you should have seen it! She screamed so loud!”
A sarcastic comment like “We heard,” was about to leave Yeonjun when you huffed. “Every day this week, Taehyun has found some way to mess with me. All I want to do is sleep in, so that I can wake up and focus on getting all of my assignments done so that I can practice more for the performance this weekend!” You looked exhausted, Yeonjun was the first to notice.
You were pale, there were dark circles under your eyes and more than mad at anyone, you looked like you were about to cry. Taehyun stuck his tongue out at you, and you lunged at him again. Yeonjun had an inkling of what was going on, judging by the way things were strewn across your room. He knew you were under a lot of stress, but he didn’t really know how bad it was. Between classes and working on your Korean and performing and any other social aspect, you felt like you were drowning.
Figuring you probably wouldn’t want to be seen crying, Yeonjun pulled you with him out of the room. “Hey, what’s going on, little shark?”
You sniffled a little at the familiar nickname before mumbling. “I just wanted to sleep.” His heart broke when you broke down in tears, and he rubbed your back softly. He saw Taehyun’s sheepish face and moved to shut the bedroom door with his foot, shaking his head as if to say not now. “Have you not been sleeping?” he asked you softly, and you just sniffled. “No.. I’ve been trying to do as much homework as possible so I don’t have to do it whenever we have something big! And I’ve been trying to practice my Korean and my dances and I’m scared because what if I’m not any good at it and I’m so tired,” you cried and he just soothed you for a second. No one was judging you for being so upset. Hell, they had all felt like that since their career started, and worse than that, you were so young.
You were giving up everything to chase your dreams, and that took a lot of guts- Yeonjun figured you had more than enough bravery to match the pressure you were under. He gently pushed you away from him to lay you down. “No, I need-“
“What you need to do,” he interrupted, “is get a few hours of real sleep. This is the quietest, and coldest room here, so just close your eyes for a bit.” Yeonjun brushed some of your curls out of your face. “You can rest now, it’s okay.” It was hard to remain noble against him and insist that you needed to work when he could see your eyes were already droopy. He just made sure that you were tucked in and asleep. And, to Taehyun’s credit, he did apologize. He hadn’t really understood the amount of pressure you were under; after all, you never really talked about it and you managed to make everything seem so easy.
But that was just how it was sometimes, sometimes you needed someone to realize you were drowning and reach out to help you, and that was exactly what they were there for.

Mission: Christmas Cupid
Plot: You go to a Christmas festival with the boys, only to be left behind with Yeonjun. But it's okay, this was supposed to happen.
Pairing: Choi Yeonjun x Gn!Reader
Warnings: A few kisses towards the end, but thats all!
Words: 2.5k
You looked around excitedly as the festival stretched out in front of you. It was getting dark, so the bright festive lights lit up your surroundings like daytime.
With you was the boys, and a few of your mutual friends. You had no set plans as to what to do at the festival, so you figured it would be a see all and do all night.
"God where do we even start?" You muttered and you heard a soft huff of laughter beside you.
Glancing over you saw Yeonjun smiling brightly as he looked around and nodded. You suddenly felt your neck grow warmer as you realized the person who had been standing right beside you had been him.
You had felt flustered enough being squished in the car beside him the whole way to the festival. And now as your group wandered into the festival, he seemed to be sticking close to your side. Not that you were complaining, far from it actually, but, you couldn't help but notice it, as it was not something common.
You and Yeonjun got along great, and you pretty-obviously, had a giant crush on him. But you figured it was one-sided. Sometimes you wondered if you were wrong.
You'd catch him staring at you, or he'd go out of his way to do something for you, sometimes he even seemed to be flirting. But he never made it obvious enough for you to know for sure.
And tonight, as he seemed to stay right by your side, talking with you more than the others, and paying more attention to you than usual, you began to wonder again.
"Hey, look at that!"
You jolted softly as Yeonjun suddenly grabbed your shoulder and turned your body to look at something.
As you followed where he had been pointing, you spotted a small parade going past down the road. You watched it for a moment before it disappeared, you spared Yeonjun a glance and he was smiling brightly at you.
Feeling your face get warm as your heart jolted, you looked back to where the other's had been, only to see no one you recognized.
"Oh." You looked around sporadically before turning to Yeonjun, "They're gone."
He looked around before standing on his tip-toes to see over the crowd before he hissed.
"I don't see them."
"They couldn't have gotten too far away."
Yeonjun watched as you pulled out your phone and began texting the group chat. He smiled softly, before pretending to look around again as you glanced towards him. After a few minutes, you tried to call Soobin, only to get no reply.
You frowned and Yeonjun sighed, "They probably got preoccupied with something, maybe they saw a ride they wanted to go on."
You hummed before nodding, recalling how giddy Beomgyu was as you entered the festival, having almost ran off once already.
"So what should we do?"
Your breath caught in your throat as Yeonjun suddenly grabbed your hand.
"Let's just keep heading this way, we'll spot them eventually."
You nodded mutely as you let Yeonjun lead you through the crowds and through the festival. You kept your eye out for familiar faces all the while you tried not to focus on Yeonjun's hand in yours.
While making your way through the festival, You and Yeonjun got preoccupied with a small show, as well as various vendors. Mostly it was Yeonjun getting distracted, but you let him drag you along with him, as you secretly enjoyed walking hand and hand with him through the festival.
Suddenly pausing in your walk, you saw Yeonjun spot something and you tried to see if he saw the others.
"What? Did you see them?"
Yeonjun suddenly looked at you and shook his head, "No, no, I just thought since it's getting so cold we should get some hot drinks."
He tugged you along again, but you couldn't help but notice he took you towards in the opposite direction of whatever he had previously noticed.
Suspicion and curiosity passed through your mind briefly, but you pushed it away as the butterflies in your stomach became more intense.
After you acquired your drinks, Yeonjun sighed as he looked around. "Since we can't seem to find hem, we should just enjoy the festival while we can. I'm sure they will call us at some point if we don't run into them."
You thought about it for a moment, your suspicion rising again. But you accepted it and smiled at Yeonjun, "Okay."
He grinned happily at you as he took your hand again as you began walking together.
If Yeonjun was avoiding finding the others on purpose, why would you stop him? If that was what he was doing, you should be ecstatic at his actions. So you accepted his offer, and the two of you began exploring the festival, as if it had just been the two of you the whole time.
"Oh!" Yeonjun suddenly called out in excitement before dragging you up to a teacup ride.
As you boarded one of the cups, Yeonjun gave you a wide, almost mischievous smile and you suddenly felt nervous. Not long after the ride started, Yeonjun starting turning the wheel of your cup as fast as he could, making the cup spin rapidly.
The force of the movement sent you closer to Yeonjun before you were pinned to his side, clinging on to him with your eyes closed as you yelled at him. All you could hear was his laughter, unaware of the joyous grin on his face as you clung to him.
When the ride stopped ,you let out an exhausted groan as you smacked his arm, making him laugh even more.
"Come on it wasn't that bad!"
"I hate you." You mumbled, making him grin as he helped you to leave the cup, your movements uneasy as dizziness clung to you.
"You owe me food for that."
He chuckled as he nodded, secretly ecstatic. "Fine, fine."
You smiled as you eyed the sticks of candied strawberries Yeonjun bought you. Before you were able to take one, Yeonjun suddenly leaned in, stealing one before smiling happily at you.
You opened your mouth in shock, offense obvious on your face.
Yeonjun chuckled as he grabbed one of the small donuts he had bought and pushed it slowly into your agape mouth to make up for stealing from you.
You failed to repress a laugh at this before you stepped away, eating the doughnut happily.
The two of you began to wander towards the game stalls, as you snacked on your food. Yeonjun walked beside you, his arm brushing yours. You couldn't help but feel like you were on a date. And even if it ended up not being anything of the sort, you were still happy with how it ended up.
"I really wonder where they are." You muttered as you checked the group chat, still receiving no reply even though over an hour had passed.
He shrugged, "Some of them were really excited about the roller coasters, so maybe they're over there."
As he spoke he saw the way your eyes widened momentarily and he chucked before leaning closer to you, "Wanna go see if they're there?"
You cleared your throat as you tried to sound casual, "Uhm, maybe- maybe later, they could be over here by the games."
He let out an amused laugh. "You don't have to pretend Y/n, I know you hate roller coasters."
You smiled shyly as you ate another strawberry.
"We'll check the games first." Yeonjun said softly as he nudged you in the right direction, laughing as you slightly stumbled before glaring at him. You ran a few steps ahead of him and he watched you with a fond gaze.
Discreetly checking his phone, he typed out a message before sending it and quickly putting his phone back in his pocket and running to catch up to you.
You and Yeonjun spent a good half hour playing various games together, forgetting once again about the others as your night played out more and more like a date.
Yeonjun had won you a plush panda bear, and a large rabbit plush, and you had won him not only some large bright pink star sunglasses, but a large bear toy of his own.
After failing at a shooting game for the third time, Yeonjun finally gave up. Turning towards you, he saw you looking up at the nearby Ferris wheel and he grinned to himself. He had been leading you this way on purpose all night, and the closer he got the more nervous he felt.
Walking up to you, he cleared his throat by your ear, making you jump. He chuckled before looking at the Ferris wheel, "Let's go."
"Huh? On the ferris wheel?"
He nodded and you smiled, nodding in agreement. Yeonjun grinned happily to himself as you began walking towards the wheel. He let out a deep breath as he silently encouraged himself.
Your eyes scanned the brightly it up festival as the Ferris wheel slowly rose higher. The distant city lights seemed to pale in comparison to the colorful festival.
Looking over at Yeonjun you saw him checking his phone, and you took yours out. "Did they reply to the group chat?"
Yeonjun's head shot up at our question, seeing you check your phone. He turned his screen off before putting his phone away quickly, "No not yet."
You hummed as you saw he was right, before you put your own phone away. "They better not forget we came with them and leave without us."
Yeojun chuckled, "Honestly wouldn't put it past them at this point."
You grinned at his comment as you continued to look out the Ferris wheel window. Yeonjun's eyes were only on you as he adored the bright look of excitement on your face. His heart was pounding in his chest, as he checked to see how far you were until the top.
As Yeonjun suddenly moved to sit beside you rather than in front of you, you looked over at him in confusion.
Your eyes met just as he leaned closer to you and you felt your breath hitch. He smiled before he pointed past you, "Look over there"
Taring your eyes from his face, you looked out to see that the large lit up Christmas tree in the middle of the festival grounds began blinking melodically as if in rhythm to a song. You smiled as you watched it for a minute as it blinked with various colors and patterns.
Yeonjun's eyes still lingered on your face, as he took in your features.
When you suddenly turned back to look at him, both of you seemed to freeze as your noses nearly brushed at the proximity of your faces.
As you saw Yeonjun's eyes suddenly dart away from your face, you began to pull back, only to see him lean closer again as he looked back into your eyes.
You questioned him with your gaze, and a soft smile spread across his face.
"We're almost at the top."
Before you could question him, the meaning behind his words suddenly hit you. A trope you had heard since you were young, seen in hundreds of books, shows and movies.
Couples always kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel.
Looking over, you saw the Ferris wheel had in fact nearly reached the top. Looking back at Yeonjun he seemed to have inched just a little closer. You nodded in response to his statement as you felt the wheel pause momentarily, as it did for every cabin that reached the top. As if daring every pair to kiss.
Yeonjun's eye's glanced down to your lips before he met your eyes again as he slowly moved closer. His gaze questioned you, as if waiting for you to pull away or stop him.
When you made no movement to move or refuse, he continued moving closer until his lips gently met yours. Your eyes closed as you felt your heart racing.
You expected him to pull away almost immediately, but instead, he briefly deepened the kiss as he leaned closer to you, placing his hand on your knee as he kissed you.
A short moment later, he pulled away, just after the Ferris wheel had continued it's decent.
The gaze between you was filled with tension as you noticed the tip of his ears had gone bright red. Something you would surely tease him about later on.
As the tension sat between you, no words passed, a soft small began to play at your lips before Yeonjun sprung forward and kissed you again. This time, you returned to kiss with equal excitement, as he brought his hand up to cup the back of your head as he kissed you deeper than before.
This time when he pulled away, he couldn't repress the smile tugging at his own lips.
You smiled in return before finally asking him what you had been wondering almost all night.
"Did you separate us from the others on purpose?"
Yeonjun's smile became a grin as he let out a bashful chuckle before nodding, making you giggle.
"It wasn't just my plan though."
You quirked your brow and he grinned before looking out of the Ferris wheel. After a moment he pointed to something, leaning over and following his gaze you saw the rest of your group standing under the Ferris wheel.
You let out a bewildered laugh, "So what, it was a group plan?" You gasped softly, "You've been messaging them behind my back haven't you!"
He nodded, laughing as you rolled your eyes in annoyance. You let out a soft breath before you smiled at him, "You know, if you wanted to go on a date with me, you could have just asked."
He grinned almost shyly, "I was too scared you'd say no."
"I thought it was obvious that I liked you." You admitted a bit shyly.
He grinned, "And I thought it was obvious I liked you too, but you seem surprised."
You hummed, "Touché." You adjusted yourself slightly as he chuckled, "Well I wouldn't have said no."
He leaned closer to you, "Well now I know for next time."
You giggled softly and he pressed a quick kiss to your lips, catching you by surprise. As your smile widened, he kissed you again, lingering just long enough so you could kiss him back.
As the Ferris wheel finally reached the bottom so the two of you could exit, you saw the other's watching the two of you carefully, as if trying to decipher if it ended well or not between you.
As Yeonjun grinned at them, before taking your hand to help you out of the Ferris wheel the other's clapped happily, laughing that their plan worked.
You shook your head as you approached them, as they teased the two of you fervently.
As your group slowly made it's way back into the festival, you eyed them all closely. "So, what was this secret group chat called?"
Kai laughed as he proudly announced, "Mission: Christmas Cupid!"
You let out a short chuckle, "That's so lame." Beomgyu looked over at you in offense, "No it's not!"
"So you came up with it then?"
The others laughed as you teased him, Yeonjun wrapping his arm around your shoulder, holding you close to him. He didn't care what it had been called, he was just glad it worked.

if ur requests are still open, anyone from txt with soft sex? idk it just seems sweet lol. anyways, ty! 🏃
SOFT BLISS
cw : afab reader but otherwise gender neutral, protected sex (please practice this), soft sex
soft caresses, fingertips trailing feather light across your waist, plush and velvety lips gently sucking and biting dark marks into your skin as they followed along your collarbones — the peaceful, quiet, and comforting environment was one you found yourself in often when you were with soobin.
a romantic at heart despite not always meaning to be, every caress, kiss, and thrust was done so with the utmost care and love.
"you feel so good, baby," soobin panted, forearms drawn up to rest beside your head on the pillow, fingertips playing softly with the ends of your hair sprawled on the plush surface. "can never get enough of being inside of you - could fuck you for days and never get tired of fucking this pretty pussy."
noticing your wandering hands on his back looking for placement, soobin brought one hand from the pillow and reached for one of your own, grasping it tightly.
"soobin, i'm so close," you whined, gripping his hand as if it were your final lifeline. the feeling of his palm shaping oh so perfectly into your own, only added to the pleasure as you realized how perfect of a fit the two of you were. "please don't stop!" you moaned.
a breathless laugh paired with a soft kiss first to the back of your hand he held in his and then to your lips is all soobin replied with before bringing his knees up to rest under your hips — the angle all of a sudden becoming steeper, allowing soobin to sink deeper into you.
soobin bent at his hips, letting his heaving chest drop to your own, "i'm close too baby," he panted against your lips. "let go for me."
at the sound of his command, you felt the tightness in your abdomen snap — the feeling of euphoria washing over you in tides causing your body to tremor.
soobin held your body close to his own as he let himself go, spilling into the condom, whispers of 'i love you's' spilling out the second the waves of pleasure hit.
listened to 'mmmh mmmh' by kai and 'house of cards' by bts on repeat while writing this

bad advice ; choi soobin
synopsis; soobin is desperate enough to take his friends' advice..
pairing; soobin x gn!reader
warnings; very mild swearing, not proof read
word count; 734
choi soobin was clueless about love. flirting, however, luckily for him, all of his friends would love to help him woo you- who did not even need wooing. you, who was enamoured with soobin already. but his friends persuaded him to take their various, differing pieces of advice.
yeonjun claimed it was best to act hard to get.
you were baffled when you saw soobin had left your 'do you wanna go for lunch tomorrow?" message on read. the worst he could say is no, huh? apparently there's worse.
you were even more baffled when soobin barely even smiled at you as you walked past him in the hallway- if only you knew how much he was panicking the second his face was out of your field of view.
your heart dropped as soobin nonchalantly told you about this girl in his class. he spoke about her so kindly; but what you didn't know was that she didn't even exist. it was merely a part of yeonjun's plan to make you jealous.
he didn't think yeonjun's advice was working.
he knew yeonjun's advice wasn't working when you appeared in the doorway of his dorm, distraught, asking if you had done something wrong.
"no!" he insisted, "it was just yeonjun.. he.. never mind."
he was never going to take yeonjun's advice again.
beomgyu's advice was to act cool.
you nearly burst into laughter when you saw soobin waiting outside your class. he was wearing... sunglasses? inside? paired with an outfit, clearly put together by beomgyu. his arms were folded across his chest, he was leaning against a wall with one foot against the wall as well.
you forced yourself to hold the laughter to ask him, "what's the occasion?"
he let out a low, strained chuckle, "what do you mean?"
"in the nicest way possible," you looked his outfit up and down before reaching up to remove his sunglasses and finally meet his gaze, "you look like a douchebag."
his persona faltered, "really?"
"was this beomgyu?" you asked, your smile never falling.
he nodded, "he tried to make me cool."
you finally burst into laughter, "this is-!? oh my word, soobin, never ever let beomgyu touch you again."
he took note of that.
kai told him that cuteness was the way to go.
something was off today. soobin had been giving you these sweet, big eyes all day paired with a gentle and shy smile. it wasn't the normal sweetness he would give you; something was wrong. there was a tinge of awkwardness in his smile and it felt forced. his voice seemed to go up an octave every time he greeted you. he called you by cheesy nicknames and was embarrassingly touchy.
you gave the direct approach, "who was it this time?"
he tried to keep up the cutie facade for around 5 seconds more by giving you an innocent, shocked expression, before he groaned and replied with, "kai."
you laughed, "you're adorable without... this," you reassured him, "why are you even doing all this.. weird stuff."
"i'll tell you some other time."
"i mean... she clearly likes you, dude," taehyun raised an eyebrow, "be.. yourself? it's obviously working."
when you met up with soobin for lunch- to make up for the one he(more so yeonjun) brushed off- and he was dressed normally and he carried himself the way he usually did, you let out an audible sigh. he sat in front of you with a regular soobin smile which brought an even wider smile to your face.
he raised an eyebrow, "what?"
"you're normal today," you giggled, quietly, "taehyun doesn't get a turn?"
"this.. was taehyun's 'turn'," soobin explained, nervously, "'be yourself' were his exact words."
you smiled, nodding in acknowledgement, "what was this all for anyway?"
he flushed, his ears and cheeks tinted a bright red as he mumbled, "well.. i was trying to.. impress you?"
your brows furrowed, "for what?"
"to.. " he hesitated for a moment, "because i like you?"
your eyes widened and your heart skipped a beat as your lips curled into a smile, "all of that nonsense to make me, who's had a crush on you forever, like you?"
"something like that-" he muttered in embarrassment, "wait, what?"
"dumbass, of course i like you," you laughed, "you didn't have to go through all of that to make me like you."
he grinned, "as usual, taehyun gives the best advice."

sweet dreams - kang taehyun
hubby!tyun, use of the word : princess. yn’s family is very 🤨
spend a happy christmas with taehyun. even though yn has been on the verge of a breakdown due to work and family, taehyun is always there to listen and to wish you sweet dreams and a goodnight.
taehyun’s eyes lingered on your body, noticing the way that your line of interest was directed to the couch. he also couldn’t help but noticed that your greeting to him… it wasn’t as lovely as usual. taehyun ran his mind through the past few days, the two of you definitely haven’t gotten into any fights.
he continued to scrub the dirty dishes with the soapy sponge, although he still kept an eye on you, constantly turning around to check up if you were still… alive. he noticed the way that your eyes were closed, but he could tell that you weren’t exactly asleep.
“tyun..” you called out, voice barely even reaching his ears. he turned all the knobs off, water coming to a stop, taking off his gloves. and setting them on the counter.
“yes, love.” he came and sat down at the end of the couch right next to your head, he was careful to not sit on any part of your body including your hair.
“you should take a break, you’ve been at it since the morning.” you spoke up, voice grumbling and your right cheek pressed against the couch. you laid on your right side, pillow underneath your head.
“mm.. i have but i’ve taken a ton of breaks, i just feel pretty energized.. do you need me to do anything for you, princess..?” he questioned, moving a bit closer to you, only to see a wet drop run down your cheek.
“i’m fine, tyun.. i just need to get my laptop out, but it’s right here in my bag.” you replied, touching the bag that was leaned onto the leg of the sofa. taehyun felt quite sad to see you in such a difficult state.
“can you follow me for a second, yn.” he patiently waited for your answer, catching sight as you nodded your head. opening your eyes, you sat up and taehyun could see the sheer sorrow in your face. he offered you his hand, which you were happy to take. he led you into your shared room, he sat you down onto the soft bed that was in the center of the room but against the wall. he looked through your dresser, finding you the christmas pajama that was meant to match with his, but he had an apron on at the moment. “can you change real quickly, and then i’ll be back.. mkay ?”
“mhmm..” you hummed in response, looking at the pajama set that was now in your lap. you had no idea what taehyun was up to, nor was he going to let you find out what he was going to do. you put on the set, opening the door that taehyun had shut to give you some privacy. “tyun…”
taehyun was convinced that he had some kind of superhuman hearing, after all this entire time the volume in your voice hadn’t been very loud. he turned around, seeing you peeking out of your shared bedroom. he simply sent you a soft smile, walking over to you, he grabbed two headbands. one had black cat ears on it and the other was a gray bunny one, he put on the black cat one, pushing back his hair. handing you the remaining one, as you followed his steps.
he led you into the bathroom. your hand in his, before he let you go, taking out your oil cleanser and applying it to your face, before he did the same to his own face, he waited for you to wash your face before he washed his. you couldn’t help but feel your spirits slowly lifted as taehyun did the best he could to make you feel happy.
“what kind of face mask do you want to do today ?” he asked, caressing your cheeks as he noticed the way that your lips started to turn upwards.
“whichever one you’d like, as long as i get to put it on you !” you exclaimed excitement and energy slowly returning to your body. he pressed a kiss to your cheek, picking out a face mask. the two of you took turns placing the mask on each other. which only ends up with you sitting on top of the counter and taehyun’s face looking up at you as you took off the mask after making sure that enough time has passed. he wrapped his arms around your waist, picking you up as you instinctively clung onto him, your legs embracing his torso. “be careful, tyun !”
“of course i have to be careful, i wouldn’t want to hurt my princess..” he replied, carrying you into the living room where a bunch of snacks were waiting on the coffee table which filled the space between the couch and the tv. “y’know i only really even work out just for you… just so i can treat you like the princess that you are.”
he teased, bringing his lips up to his your cheek, a subtle red blush settling on your face. you were happy to have a partner that showed nothing but love for you. you wished that you could be as affectionate as taehyun, and you do try your best. but taehyun just goes an extra mile.
“maybe i should start going to the gym and treating you like a prince ! i’ll carry you all over the place, hyun !”
“ah, but i love treating you like a princess. you deserve all the love in the world and luckily for you, i’m just the right person to do that for you.” taehyun couldn’t help but smirk, settling himself down on the couch as you practically melted into his arms since he had been carrying you. he grabbed the tv remote, turning on the tv and playing a random christmas movie. he threw a blanket on top of the two of you as you snuggled closer to him.
“tyun…” you called out, eyes still on the screen watching as snow began to fall, introducing the movie’s main character to viewers. taehyun only hummed as a reply, his arm around your waist, his hand caressing your hand. “can we.. or do you want to go visit your family for christmas ?”
“i thought we were going to go see your family ?” taehyun questioned, pausing the movie so that he could put all of his attention on you.
“well… yeah.. we were, but-..”
he heard your small stuttering voice, worried for you. he knew that your family situation wasn’t the best, in fact he fell victim to one of their little accidents. taehyun.. wasn’t supposed to marry you, you were supposed to marry your mother’s friend’s son. so when taehyun proposed to you, he didn’t really have permission to marry, he did it anyways.. and when the two of you showed up to your family’s house for christmas, let’s just say you got a lot of unnecessary comments and nasty stares. however, you made the right choice by getting engaged to taehyun. he spent all night and the day after, making sure that you were okay and that you had no regrets about him. which you didn’t, you also spent that day making sure to show him all of your love, sure you were the prime target of all the rude behavior, but it was bound to hurt taehyun too.
“do you want to spend it here, just with me or with my family ?”
“why don’t we spend the 24th with your family and then on the 25th it can just be us.” you replied, smiling up to your husband, eyes full of love and adoration.
“sounds like a great plan, my princess.”
“by the way… thank you…” you turn your head to look at taehyun.
“for what ?”
“for cheering me up !! you saw that i didn’t have a really good day today and instead of avoiding me.. you took really great care of me, tyun.. you really are the right person to give me all the love in the world, and i’ll try my best to be the person to give you all the love in the universe.”
“of course, i can’t just sit back seeing you so down, you can always talk to me, you can even take out all of your frustrations on me..”
“i wouldn’t ever do that.. you shouldn’t have to live through the consequences of other people. it’s their fault that i felt down so they’ll face the consequences for doing so !” he chuckled, scratching the top of your head, running his hands through your hair.
“should we go to bed ?”
“oooh ! yes, please.”
the two of you moved to your shared bedroom, turning off the tv, realizing that the two of you only even got through 2 minutes of the movie which was barely even the beginning of the movie. you laid down on the right side of the bed, pulling the duvet over your body, as taehyun did the same thing but on the left side of the bed. you immediately moved over to him.
“i really do love you and cherish you, taehyun.”
“i love and cherish you, too.. sweet dreams, my yn.”

song 56! you’re on your own, kid (taylor swift) + choi soobin requested by @explorewithd (spotify wrapped event)
i didn’t choose this town, i dream of getting out, there’s just one who could make me stay all my days
There’s a town on the west side of the coast, where the air is fresh with salt and pine. It’s small, quaint if you will, consisting of one market, one convenience store, a singular movie theatre, one McDonald’s and a whole bunch of family owned restaurants.
The town is yours, but you hate it.
You’re sick of walking through near empty streets, of seeing the same faces you grew up with at school, of trying to think of activities to do with your friends, and doing those activities knowing you’ve done them a thousand times before.
You can’t wait to leave it all behind.
You’re sitting in a booth in the McDonald’s, pondering this, when a tray slides in front of your face.
“Here you go, ma’am.”
You scowl up at the looming figure of the tall boy in front of you. He slides into the seat across from you and takes off cap embroidered with the restaurant logo, immediately reaching for one of your fries. He runs a hand through his dark hair, ruffling the flattened mess as he chews.
“Isn’t it against company policy to impose on your customer’s meals and eat their fries?”
Soobin shrugs at you, tearing open your straw and stabbing it into your cola to take a sip.
“Policy, schmolicy. There’s like two other people on shift and no customers. I’ll be fine,” he says, grabbing another fry. “And please, you love me being here.”
You tug the tray towards you protectively. “Not when you eat my food,” you mumble.
He rolls his eyes but a smile creeps onto his face as he looks at you, and you have to look down at your food to stop yourself from blushing and smiling back like a schoolgirl.
You open the box of chicken nuggets and frown. “Hey, you gave me one less!”
“Oh,” he says, blinking down at it, “yeah, I ate one of them when I was packing it.”
He sees your unimpressed stare and rises. “I’ll bring you two extra,” he says, then grabs the box and retreats into the kitchen.
Soobin’s absence gives you some time alone with your thoughts once more. Choi Soobin is, you believe, the only good thing about your town. He’s your best friend, your soulmate, twin flame, whatever you want to call it. He’s the one thing in this place that you could never be sick of.
You love your other friends and everyone else in the town too, of course, but it’s not the same. You know they’d all be there for you when you need them, but you aren’t quite sure when their concern stops being out of genuine care and starts being out of obligation. For their friend, neighbour, community. Nothing in this town acts by itself, and you feel sometimes as though you’re nothing more than a cog in its old, steam billowing machine.
You think back to your years at high school. You’d wait ages at some party for your friends to notice you, to find you and come up to you, only for them to not be there. Because you hadn’t asked them to. Because they were only there when you needed them to be.
You wanted something more. A city so wide that only those you wanted to find you could, that every friendship, every relationship is by choice. Freedom. More than that, you wanted somewhere that could contain your dreams, fulfil them. You were always overflowing in this town. You just wanted to know that you’re not on your own.
Your eyes flit upwards as Soobin returns and hands you the box. You’re pleased to find that he did put in two extra, and reach over to pat his head in gratitude. “Good job, Soobie.”
He squirms away from your hand and pouts at you, but forgets it as he grabs another of your fries.
“Stop that!” you protest.
“I’m only eating the super crunchy ones that you don’t like!”
You roll your eyes and take a few fries yourself, surveying the boy in front of you. His hair is tousled as it usually is at work, his face is a little shiny from the heat of the kitchen, and his eyes are wide as his mouth chews and he focuses on it. Something tugs at your gut, and you have a horrible reminder that to leave this town behind, you might have to leave Soobin behind too.
“Hey, do you ever think about getting out of this place?”
Soobin looks at you in confusion. “You mean McDonald’s? Well, yeah eventually, but it’s an easy way to make money right now—“
“No,” you interrupt, “I mean, like, out of this town. Move to the city or something.”
You feel the heat on your neck rising in embarrassment as his face morphs into one of surprise.
“I— do you?”
You begin to grow hesitant, but your desperation to confide in him wins, so you say, “Yeah, I do.”
He’s silent for a while, looking down at the fry in his hand, and you feel your anxiety start to take over, so you continue.
“I mean, obviously not forever, because I’d still come back and stuff, but I want to know what it’s like out there. I want to know if they can help me do the things I want to do.” He’s looking at you now. “I want to know that there’s more than just this version of myself.”
“So you’re thinking about moving to the city,” he speaks finally.
It’s less a question than a statement, and you aren’t quite sure how he’s feeling about this, so you ask, “If I was, would you come with me?”
There’s a long silence in which Soobin looks at you, and you meet his eyes, and you see uncertainty swimming in them until he says. “I don’t think I would.”
You feel your stomach sinking like a heavy stone. “Why not?”
“Well, because,” Soobin fumbles and his tall figure seems to shrink in on himself as he frowns, “because I’ve got friends here and family. I can’t just leave them like that.”
But what about me? You want to scream. How can he be so okay with letting you go? You want to yell at him, cry at him, rip your hair out, because if Choi Soobin wants to stay in this town you know that there isn’t enough resolve in you to leave him behind.
You want him to come with you, to fight to be with you, even to fight to make you stay. Anything, anything that will show you that he cares. Your hopes are disappointed.
“But if you do go, you know we’ll always be friends, right? You can call me whenever you need me.”
You feel as though you’ve been ripped in two, half of you left behind with the version of Soobin that sat there before this conversation happened.
You can call me whenever you need me, he said, whenever you need me.
You suppose that as much as Soobin is the best thing to come out of this place, he is still a product of it.
“Yeah, I know,” you say back, and manage a weak smile as he gives you one back. The two of you manage to divert the topic and spend some time devouring your meal until you’re finished and you finally have reason to leave.
“You should get back to work,” you tell him as you rise.
Soobin looks conflicted, and you see sadness in his eyes and the downturned twist of his lips, but he nods and makes his way around the table to give you a hug. You almost tear up at the feeling of his arms around you, chest pressed to yours, and you pull back before the tears fall.
“See you later,” he says.
“Bye, Soobin,” you say.
When you arrive home, you collapse into your bed and allow the tears to fall. You guess you really are on your own.

just admit you hate me ☾.*
⊹ pairing: kang taehyun x f! reader
⊹ genre: enemies (?) to possible (?) lovers
⊹ warnings: kind of an asshole taehyun and like two swear words total
⊹ wc: 2.1k
summary: five years after graduating high school, you had officially reached the lowest point of your life. after having been let go from your perfectly stable job, it was as if every business in all of seoul had a personal agenda against hiring you.
at this point, you were desperate to accept any job that would have you ... even if it meant losing that last ounce of self-respect you had left in your body.
if you were introduced to the opportunity of traveling back in time for the sole purpose of wringing your past self by the neck ... you would take that chance in a heartbeat.
your leg was mindlessly bobbing up and down as you sat anxiously in your seat, and you were quite sure that every crevice of your body was producing sweat by this point.
it had been hours since you first arrived, and, with every name that was called into the foreboding office, the closer you came to throwing up in the suspense of hearing your own.
as yet another woman had her name called out to enter the room, you were officially left as the last remaining applicant.
being left to wallow all alone in your thoughts, you could only begin to imagine that your life would have turned out far differently had you just listened and prioritized your education over a career.
who in their right mind thought 18-year-olds were capable of making such life-altering decisions?!
now here you were, years later and at the end of your rope, awaiting your turn among the many other applicants - that were surely higher qualified than you - applying for the same assistant position.
ever since you were let go from your last job, it had been an absolute nightmare for you to merely attempt finding another. for the same exact reason that you had been laid off, companies were suddenly more determined to find and hire employees with far more experience and education than a young girl with only a high school diploma to her name.
despite the years of experience working as a dutiful employee at your last company, you had been rejected at approximately twenty interviews you applied for. of course, those were just the ones you heard back from; there was about ten other positions that completely denied you from your resume alone.
you were beginning to lose all hope that you'd be able to find another job before you turned thirty.
chaewon, your best friend and roommate, encouraged you time and time again that "something big" was coming for you and that you should "keep your head up", but you could only hold on to such words for so long. eventually, even your optimistic best friend was going to have to face the same reality as you ...
your life has reached a dead-end.
the sound of the door opening once more had your head instinctively snapping towards it in attention. this was it .. it was officially going to be your turn.
distracting your mind for a brief moment, you couldn't help but notice the deep blush that covered the cheeks of the woman who entered before you. in fact, thinking about it now, you realized that a lot of the women had left with the same red color on their face.
when you first researched the company to apply, you had read that the ceo was rather young in age. in which case, based on the reactions of every woman that had left the office, you were now all the more intimidated.
"l/n, y/n?"
thank God your stomach was stronger than the rest of you, or else the sound of your name would have truly induced vomit.
you stood up quickly, though your legs felt entirely like jell-o and made it difficult to walk straight without shaking. you only prayed that the woman waiting for you didn't notice for herself.
today, you were interviewing at the relatively new k company for the position of assistant to the ceo.
it was a much bigger leap compared to your last job, but, at the rate you were going, you would apply to absolutely anything just for a source of income.
"mr. kang will see you now," the woman's stern voice spoke through your thoughts, her words awakening a strange feeling in the pit of your stomach.
kang?
the familiarity of the name suddenly had you reminiscing the old days of your high school years. you could vividly picture the image of your senior class president, the one you held an intense disliking for.
regardless of having been in the same class for the entire four years you attended high school together, it was as if he refused to acknowledge your existence at all.
not that you deliberately went out of your way in attempts to be friends with the boy, you truly couldn't care less, but you certainly remembered every time he had pushed past you in the hallways without a single apology, deliberately ignored you during student council discussions, and most especially that cold stare he always gave you any time your eyes met.
the same one that he was giving you now, in fact.
your entire body tensed as you felt your heart leap into your throat, unable to fully process the situation at hand.
you had just entered the office ... of the kang taehyun, who you strongly disliked .... interviewing to be his assistant ...
as surprised as you wanted to pretend to be, you honestly couldn't bring yourself to even feign it.
of course taehyun was the ceo at the very company you were desperately applying to be an assistant for. that was just the point your dead-end life had reached.
life was truly cruel, wasn't it? seemingly against you at any opportunity it could find..
"are you planning to stand there the whole time?"
you blinked back to reality, having forgotten entirely that this was still an interview process that you needed to be professional for - regardless of who was sat in the chair across from you.
"repeat your name for me." he told you firmly after you had taken your seat, completely emotionless as he flipped over your one-page resume on his desk.
swallowing the nervous lump in your throat, you repeated your name. you wondered if he held any recognition for you the way you had for him.
if he did, he certainly failed to show it.
"and you graduated from [name of high school here]?"
there was that lump in your throat again. you felt your shoulders instinctively slouch, having hoped your level of education wouldn't have become a point of discussion — especially where you were educated.
you could only mentally prepare yourself for any incoming ridicule he may give you upon realizing the circumstance for himself.
"yes," you answered simply, your eyes downcast to his desk to avoid whatever look he may send you - whether it be one of pity or amusement.
because why wouldn't he?
the two of you graduated the same year, yet here you were in extremely opposite stages of life. where taehyun has already reached the top of his, you were still desperately clinging for life at the very bottom of yours.
his eyes flickered to you momentarily, but he made no comment.
"any extracurricular activities?"
the room was growing warmer by the second. these questions were already answered on your resume - which he hadn't looked away from this entire time - so you couldn't understand why he was asking them again.
a part of you wondered if it was his own way to subtly remind you of who he was.
not that you could possibly forget the face of the one who treated you worse than the dirt under his shoes.
"i was treasurer of the student council in my senior year," you answered, your gaze shifting down to the floor in preparation of his next words.
he was bound to mention something now.
"reason for leaving last job?"
. . .
your eyes shifted upward, looking to see taehyun's rather bored expression still staring down at your resume. it was as if he were a frozen image - the only sign that he moved at all being the slow blinking of his eyes.
... that bastard.
he didn't recognize you at all, did he?!
you could have scoffed aloud at the realization, unable to believe that he had absolutely no recollection of you whatsoever.
not that you believed you had any profound effect on his life in any way, but you only assumed that someone would at least vaguely remember the person they had treated terribly for four years of their life.
in which case, you were in more surprise that he even acknowledged you as a person at all now. for all you knew, you could have been entirely invisible in his eyes.
"are you going to sit there and ignore the question?"
your eyes widened as you cleared your throat awkwardly. "no, sorry. i was ... just thinking." what an awful excuse. "well, um, they believed that i did not hold enough education or experience to renew my contract at their company."
taehyun nodded his head, though his features remained cold and emotionless, causing a twisting feeling to stir in the pit of your stomach. his stare was blank and uncaring as they met yours for the first time, but, nonetheless, he continued with his questions.
ultimately, as the interview reached its end, you came to the understanding that this was a complete waste of your time. he held not one sliver of interest in anything you had to say, and you certainly did not want to be stuck working for him anyway.
all you had done was allow the one person you disliked most in the world to see how miserable your life had turned out. hell, he had the pathetic resume of your life to prove it to him in writing.
then again, it wasn't as if he remotely cared.
"alright then. do you have any questions for me?"
millions.
do you seriously not remember me?
do you hate me?
am i even a person to you?!
"no i do not." you truly just wanted to escape that cursed office as soon as you possibly could. it was beginning to feel more and more confined with each painful second that passed.
taehyun stood from his desk, officially declaring the interview over, and silently gesturing for you to follow his lead.
with a forced smile and a small bow, you silently bid your goodbye and mentally prayed that you would never have to come back to that building ever again for as long as you lived.
you couldn't even remotely understand what had those previous women blushing so much when kang taehyun was nothing but an emotionless asshole.
perhaps, even after all these years, there was just something about you that had him compelled to disregard you and treat you so awfully.
"i do have one more question," he spoke up, pulling you from your thought and forcing you to freeze in your tracks before you could turn around and finally leave.
the office door seemed so far away now...
"how soon can you start?"
your eyes widened and that sick feeling in your stomach returned. somehow, these words made you feel worse than when that woman had called your name in the first place. "e-excuse me?"
"i asked how soon you can start," he repeated, still appearing just as bored as he has been from the very beginning.
despite him having not shown even the slightest bit of interest, asking you the most mundane questions he could possibly think of, and causing you to feel uncomfortable the entire time ... did you seriously get the job?!
regardless, you would never subject yourself to accepting the position.
forcing yourself to work for the one you despised most, who didn't even remember who the hell you were ?! absolutely fucking not.
"i can start tomorrow."
God, you were pathetic.
you couldn't believe you were even standing with how you lacked a spine.
but could you blame yourself?! you practically dried up your savings account up to this point and clearly no one else had any intention of hiring you!
desperate times .... call for desperate measures.
he nodded simply, still without a single muscle movement in his face indicating any sign of emotion. "i will email you with the schedule later this evening."
with a forced smile, feeling like you practically sold yourself for a paycheck, you gave a halfhearted bow and prepared to leave in as normal of a pace you could manage - so as not to be so obvious with how you were dying to go home and wallow in despair for the remainder of the evening.
"oh, and by the way," his voice called out to you once you reached the doorway.
it was like he knew how desperately you wanted to leave and was doing anything in his power to torture you.
you turned around, forcing yourself to look your new boss in the eyes - allowing you to see the first facial expression on those perfectly sculpted features of his.
he was smirking. he was fucking smirking.
"it was good to see you again, y/n."

HI, SO I'M NOT DEAD !! i just had a very busy life with so much happening. buuuuut i do have a lot of unfinished drafts for each member that i worked on every time i had a moment of inspiration. i was originally working on a hyuka one, but then ... after the concert .... taehyun just came out of nowhere and started bias wrecking so hard. and then my mind ran wild and i decided to write this. it's not very well written whatsoever, but i needed to practice so i can get back to writing more often. i also left this open for continuation if anyone is remotely interested in seeing this progress - don't be afraid to let me know :,)
and for anyone wondering about you don't go to parties, I DID NOT ABANDON IT !!! i still have full intention of continuing, but i MIGHT take a little while to get back into it because i had too many ideas going in all different directions that i was unsure how to continue with where i left off.
in the meantime, i did want to at least post something so i didn't disappoint anyone <;/3 i hope everyone is well !! and pls continue to look forward to more !!

Sequel: When I’m Alone
The first time you meet Kang Taehyun, was quite unpleasant.
Choi Yeonjun yanked your hand as you two tried to make your way through the crowd. You giggled as you followed behind him, ready to grab the first bottle of alcohol you could spot. Yeonjun rushing as he spotted a familiar face.
Wooyoung, your other friend, greeted you sloppily. Eyes red, a sign of the weed he probably smoked before you arrived. He was never going to let up.
You only get to speak a word to him before he’s shouting. “Woah, is that a new piercing?” He asked too loudly, as he got closer to your ear.
“It’s just a bar.” You laughed, gesturing to your industrial piercing that went through your ear. “Don’t touch it, it’s still healing.” You rolled your eyes as you playfully swatted his hand away.
“It makes you look hot.” Wooyoung admitted bluntly, Yeonjun laughing in response.
“She was crying like a baby when they did it, said it hurt so bad.”
You had jokingly hit him on the arm, “Hush!”
Shooting you a lopsided grin, Wooyoung spoke, “I would’ve guessed it, that’s how she was when she got her helix.”
And you hated that he was correct. Like you could fool him anyways, he was your best friend as well. The three of you had grown up together, taking every big leap through life together. That’s how it had always been.
And you’d like to think you wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Hey, I brought you a beer.” A voice said, pressing a cold one to your side.
“Chaewon!” You exclaimed, taking in the sight of her. “You bitch, you dyed your hair without me!”
She stiffed a laugh as she shows off her newly bleached hair, then she turned to you accusingly. “Your hoe ass got a piercing without me!”
“She has a point.” Yeonjun interjects, taking a beer from Chaewon’s other hand. He fumbled with the top of the can before he opens it, a sign that he can’t wait to start chugging it.
You ignored the two as you opened your bottled beer using the bottle opener on the wall, infamous in this tiny house that belongs to Lee Heeseung. Not that you ever see him here anyways, he’s usually upstairs with a girl by this time of night.
When you made it back to your friends, you noticed Yeonjun holding a blunt in his hand. “I thought we agreed we lessen the drugs.” You’d spoken up.
He looked at you with wide eyes, “It’s one hit!”
“Whatever.” You sighed, taking a swing of the bottle in your hand. As you looked around, you began to feel overwhelmed by the amount of people. You forgot how quickly these parties fill up. It was one of the things you hated about these parties.
“I’m gonna go find someone to pour liquor into my mouth.” You had said, excusing yourself from the group.
When in reality, you just wanted some fresh air. But if they had heard that, you’d never hear the end of it. So you stuck with the alternative, lying.
It got them off your back too, sometimes you just needed a minute to collect yourself. You were sure you’d find someone to pour you drinks in no time.
You reached the sliding doors that led you outside, and slid them open to reveal a group of kids with cigarettes outside. Great.
Just the kind you’d expect too. A scary looking all-boys group just looking ready to pounce on the next person to walk through the doors. Clearly, very sketchy.
You were not the one though.
You pushed past them and settled on some couches, leaning into the plush of them. Why did Heeseung have lounge chairs with such fancy pillows? Who bought those kinds of things?
The door suddenly opened and you’re drawn from your useless thoughts. A girl came stumbling out, her skirt riding up dangerously high, heading straight into the group of cigarette boys.
This probably wouldn’t end well.
They all stared at her, one of them looking like they’re about to speak.
Your female instincts shot into high alert. And despite you having no clue who she was, you headed straight for her.
“Hey, I was waiting for you.” You said, grabbing her arm.
You didn’t like the odds of this clearly drunk girl outside alone with this group of boys, so you hoped she’d get the hint.
She just squinted as she nodded. “Oh, hey!” She feigns recognition, but you can smell the alcohol on her breath and recognize the slight slur of her words.
“You’re done, we better get you home.” You laughed, hoping the boys let you guys go back inside. Their eyes following you two closely.
And they did, you sighing in relief as you closed the doors.
“Where are we going?” The stranger giggled, you shaking your head.
“I’m going to get you some water.” You grabbed her hand, keeping a hold of her as you two moved through the crowd.
She almost tripped over her feet as she leaned closer. “I”m Sakura, are you my friend?”
You shook your head before introducing yourself, “I”m just trying to help you sober up.”
Sakura takes the bottled water from your hand, her grin widening. “Thank you.”
“No problem.” You reply as she starts downing the water.
This didn’t look good.
Before you could tell her to slow down, she’s drank the entire bottle of water.
“Oh goodness.” You muttered.
She turns towards to you and leans her figure on the counter for stability. “You know, I usually never drink this much.”
You nodded. “Then-”
Sakura doesn’t process you’re speaking as she continues. “I’m just trying to impress a boy. Stupid? I know. He’s one of my brothers friends, and he’s just so hot. I thought it might take the edge off and give me a bit of liquid courage-”
“You’re rambling.” You cut in. “I’m a stranger, you probably don’t want me knowing your life story.”
“Oh hush, you’re practically my best friend now.”
You smiled. “Well then best friend, you’re about to puke your guts out.”
And as soon as you say that, her face goes pale. “Where’s the restroom?”
You grabbed her hand and bolted for the guest bathroom, praying it was empty, and to your delight, it was.
Quickly moving, you grab her hair in a makeshift ponytail and kneel her over the toilet. Your efforts working just in time as she let out a string of blue liquid into the toilet. This was another one of the things you hated about these parties.
She coughed as tears left her eyes. “Who’s holding my hair?!”
“It’s me.” You remind and she nodded. At least the poor girl would definitely sober up after this.
“I think I’m done.”
You helped her to her feet as she wiped the tears from her eyes. “I’ll get you more water. Stay here in case you feel sick again.”
Sakura agreed and you headed towards the kitchen, seeing your group of friends now huddled in there.
Chaewon grabbed your arm. “Hey, we were looking for you. I need a beer pong partner.”
You desperately wanted to agree, beer pong with them was always fun. Not to mention you currently had an undefeated streak of wins against Wooyoung and his other friend Yeosang, but right now was not the time.
“I can’t,” You explained. “I’m helping my drunk friend out.”
“Drunk friend?” Yeonjun interjected, overhearing the conversation. “We’re your friends.”
You know what he’s getting at. If you weren’t helping any of us, then who were you helping? And you would be hurt by the assumption of your lack of friends if it wasn’t certainly true. But as of now, you guessed it wasn’t so true anymore.
You wanted to roll your eyes, sarcastically you spoke. “I held her hair while she puked, we’re like bonded for life now.”
Chaewon blinked. “Huh?”
“I’ll be back.” You said, having grabbed the bottle of water. Ignoring Yeonjun’s questioning and Wooyoung’s look from afar. It wasn’t about them right now.
But when you arrived to the bathroom, it was empty. You only had to look around for a few seconds before notice a couple arguing in your peripheral vision.
It’s Sakura, and a blonde guy, who looks vaguely like her. But you weren’t going to take any chances.
You warily approach the two as the male just stared you down.
“Is this guy bothering you?” You questioned, Sakura’s eyes finding yours.
“Yes.” She pouted. “But unfortunately he’s my brother.”
Her brother looked between you two as he spoke up. “How do you know her?”
“Who? Me?” You asked, ready to explain everything.
“I’m talking to my sister.” He responds, rather rudely. “How do you know her? You know better, she runs around with Choi Yeonjun for God’s sake. Sakura, c’mon.”
You’re about to snap when Sakura comes to your defense. “Hey! Leave her alone. She saved me from a group of guys who looked like they were gonna eat me. Then she helped me get sober, neither of which you did! You were running around trying to talk to a girl who doesn’t even know you.”
He stares back at her blankly before she speaks up again. “You’re talking about Choi Yeonjun?! You hang out with fucking nerds, that’s why you think social people are evil! Just cause they party a little doesn’t make them bad people. It just makes them different than you! And that’s definitely not a bad thing, Taehyun.”
You let out a little laugh when he turned his attention back to you. “Stay away from Sakura. I know all about you and your little friends. And I don’t need my big sister turning into the likes of you.”
Scoffing, you looked him up and down. “You don’t know shit about me or any of my friends. And why are you so uptight? God, its a party! You should let the stick come out of your ass every once in a while.”
“You helped her sober up, huh? I bet you got her drunk in the first place.” Taehyun accused, getting closer to you.
You were quick to shut down the accusation. “Actually, no. Sakura got drunk trying to impress one of your loser friends. But if he hangs out with you, I’m sure she’s better off without him anyways.”
“You-”
“Hey, what’s going on over here?” Wooyoung appeared, holding a blunt in his right hand while he swung his left hand over your shoulder. He had heard all the arguing from across the house, or so it seemed.
“Oo, can I have a hit?” Sakura perked up, boy was she curious.
“Sure, pretty girl.” He replied before you stopped him.
“Actually, I think it’s better if she skipped that.” You remarked, the last thing she needed was to get cross-faded as she was still somewhat tipsy.
Taehyun looked over at you and you just swatted Wooyoung’s hand down.
“Lame.” Wooyoung mumbled before leaning into your ear. “Ready to go upstairs?”
You looked away. “Not tonight Wooyoung.”
“That’s fine, wanna go back to the others?”
“Yeah, I just wanna see that Sakura gets home alright.”
“She will.” Taehyun interrupted, a dirty look on his face. “We’re leaving now.”
“Awe!” Sakura whined. “It was nice meeting you! Here’s my number!”
And she tugged on Taehyun’s dragging arm to grab your phone and put her number in. Saving it as ‘Kura <3′ and sending herself a text. “Call me to hang out!”
“Will do!” You yelled back as her brother dragged her halfway out the front door. Her pleading for one last drink before they left. Their dynamic was interesting in that way, he seemed like the older one there.
You didn’t look forward to explaining the situation to Wooyoung or the others. Though, the smile wouldn’t dare leave your face as you watched her exit.
You had made a friend, all on your own.
And it felt good.
That next day, you’re at Yeonjun’s place as Wooyoung blows smoke into your open mouth from the blunt he dragged on his lips. The smoke almost too much for you to handle. Though, you managed to keep a straight face, smiling back at your friend when the smoke cleared.
Chaewon fumbles with her fingers as she attempts to roll another one. Yeonjun just laughs at her attempts, “The wrap isn’t wet enough. Here.” Then he grabs the item and helps her properly roll it up.
You watch from Wooyoung’s lap, not that you cared anyways, you preferred nasty cigarettes over weed. It kept your friends at bay, and stopped them from trying to pressure you into the smelly green substance.
Plus, after the first few coughing fits, it wasn’t too bad.
“So, I met this guy named San.” Chaewon begins, helping hold the lighter.
“San? Isn’t he weird?” Wooyoung questions, you trying not to catch another puff.
“A little.” Chaewon sighs. “But he has a bong!”
“A bong?” You say, eyes widening.
“Totally.” She nods. “I’ve always wanted to try one.”
“Meh.” Yeonjun mutters. “Not all that.”
Chaewon just pouts, starting an argument with Yeonjun over it. Those two would bicker over anything if you let them.
You zone out and move to grab your phone. Scrolling through, you come upon a banner for some new action movie. It looks cool, and you haven’t been to the movies in so long. Since you were all in like 9th grade.
“Hey.” You say, returning the attention to you. “Why don’t we go see a movie this weekend?”
“A movie? Sure.” Yeonjun responds. “Which one?”
“This one.” And you hold out your phone so the three can huddle around it as you watch the trailer. You had seen the preview when you went to the movies the week before, albeit alone.
“The lead actors so dreamy.” Chaewon comments, Yeonjun scrunching his nose in disgust. “You’re such a woman.”
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Means what I said.”
“I’m gonna kick your ass.”
“I’ll go.” Wooyoung interrupts, going back to the movie. “If I get to sit by you.”
“Gross.” You say, pretend gagging.
“Yeah, lets go, but get crazy high right before.”
There it is.
“But then we wont be able to focus on the movie!” You try and reason as you whine.
“It’ll make the experience even better, can you imagine? Explosions on the screen while you’re high?”
And you shut down.
You should’ve known better than to think you guys could’ve just gone to see a regular movie like regular friends. Maybe you expected too much?
Too much for expecting your friends to want to do normal things?
You lean back into Wooyoung, “My bad, I have plans this weekend. We’ll go another time.”
And Yeonjun boos, “Liar, we’re your only friends.”
And you hate that it’s true.
-
Despite Taehyun’s callous warnings, you reached out and met with Sakura multiple times over the next few months. She was a fun girl, and a light to be around. She was someone who didn’t know your past, or the mistakes you had made. She was brand new, and you couldn’t wait to learn more about her.
In fact, you two were planning your next hangout via text as you laid on Yeonjun’s couch. The two of you were watching some shitty horror movie, you know, the kind that isn’t even scary but just comically bad. He loved those.
Kura <3: I was thinking the butterfly garden downtown tomorrow!
Kura <3: Oh, and then we could go on a picnic and take cute pics ^-^
You: I’ll make the sandwiches? :P
Kura <3: Yup, and I’ll bring the cake
Kura <3: And cheap bottle of wine
Kura <3: Promise I know my limits this time..
You laugh at the text when Yeonjun looks over at you, making a point of pausing the movie. “What’s got you glued to your phone?”
Shrugging you reach for more popcorn. “Just Sakura.”
He groans, “Sakura? The same Sakura you ditched us for last weekend?”
“I didn’t ditch you guys.” You reply. “I just didn’t wanna hotbox in Wooyoung’s car again. Plus she offered to pay, I can’t say no to a free meal.”
“Seems like you’re beginning to like her more than us.”
“That’s not true.” You disagree as you pout. “You’ll always be my number one, Choi Yeonjun.”
He smiles at that, and satisfied, he presses play back on the movie.
Though you can’t regain focus on the movie as it plays because you keep running over what you had said.
Maybe he was right, maybe you did enjoy being with Sakura more.
And you just can’t accept it.
Not even as you lay in your bed back at home, can you think of a time when you laughed as hard as you did with Sakura as you did with your old friends.
That time drunk Chaewon threw up in the bushes?
Meh, mediocre laugh at best.
When Wooyoung dropped his vape in the ocean during a beach day?
It really wasn’t all that funny how grumpy he was on the way home.
When Yeonjun got lost in a corn maze? Or when he tripped on a rock and busted his phone? Maybe when he choked on McDonalds french fries at 3AM cause he had the munchies and you had to call an ambulance?
Those were just traumatic.
No, no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t think of anything.
And that was almost enough to make you tear up.
Though you were distracted from your moment of wallowing in pity by a notification from your phone. It was a call and the display read ‘Kura <3′.
You press the green button and speak into the mic. “Hello?”
“Hey!” She whisper-yells. “I know it’s literally the middle of the night, but I have a question..”
“Shoot.”
“Can Taehyun come tomorrow?”
“Taehyun?” You voice, and the surprise hits you suddenly. Why would Taehyun want to join you and Sakura’s day out? Did he even know you were going?
“Yeah..” She trails. “I might have mentioned it to him and Beomgyu and he said it sounded fun and how he’d want to come.. and then Taehyun agreed.”
“Beomgyu want’s to come?!” You exclaim. Beomgyu was the boy Sakura was so head over heels for. And you’d be damned if you stood in her way cause of a petty quarrel you and her brother had months ago.
“Yes! But I think only under the condition that my brother comes too.”
“That’s fine. I don’t mind.”
“Are you sure?” She asks, unconvinced.
“Positive.”
And she thanks you a million times before you can finally get her to hang up. Saying you two need to be well rested tomorrow, and how you look forward to seeing the butterflies with her. Though, right now all you can think about is how much you don’t want to see Taehyun. Weird, right?
You didn’t even realize you had fallen asleep until its the next morning, and as you lean over to grab your phone, you realize you only have an hour until you have to meet Sakura.
You shoot up from your bed. You realize you have an hour to shower, do your hair and makeup, pick an outfit, and make like twelve mini sandwiches.
Though you swiftly get it done, only running late by about ten minutes. But Sakura was a stickler for time anyways, so you figured you better hurry up.
You reach the gardens with no time to spare, spotting a parking space near the front. You park close to the gate and rush in.
You’re quick to find Taehyun, but no Sakura anywhere near him. He stands still, looking bored as he watches something on his phone. You lean on your heels to try to see if you can see your friend anywhere, but she doesn’t seem to be here.
You’re about to call her when someone calls out your name. It’s Taehyun, and he has the same bored expression on his face as he approaches you. “Sakura and Beomgyu already went in, so she told me to wait here for you.”
So in other words, she ditched you? For smelly old Choi Beomgyu? And then stuck you with unbearable monster Taehyun? Eh, you had been in worse situations. Good for her, at least she’s getting some alone time with Beomgyu.
Though, maybe at you and Taehyun’s cost.
“So, we should go in.” You say, awkwardly smiling. Trying to remain civil.
“You don’t need to pretend.” He speaks, furrowing his brows.
“Pretend?”
“Pretend to like me. We’re clearly uncomfortable around each other, so just embrace it. Pretending won’t get us anywhere.” And he walks away, expecting you to trail behind.
And you do, but his words stick with you.
He was straight forward, and you liked that. You also liked the fact that you two wouldn’t be kissing each others asses in an attempt to please Sakura. He just let you be, and you enjoyed that as you strolled through the gardens. Not saying a word to each other, just simply walking in silence.
After the trip is made, you all finally meet up at the end. Sakura gushing to you about the beautiful blue butterfly she saw, showing you pictures of it on her phone. Until she accidentally swipes too far and shows you a candid picture she took of Beomgyu, smiling towards an orange butterfly.
She waves her hands. “He just looked so pretty, and the butterfly-”
You hush her. “It’s a good photo, you should show it to him.”
“Show what to who?” Taehyun interrupts, approaching with the aforementioned boy behind him.
“None ya’.” Sakura responds, sticking her tongue out.
You two laugh as Sakura looks between you two. “Oh, I’m so sorry I left you two alone by the way, was everything okay?”
You narrow your eyes, “You’re not sorry!”
“A little.” She fake pouts.
“Whatever,” You playfully roll your eyes as you change the subject. “Can we eat now? I’m starving.”
“Oh! Oh, me too!”
And after deciding to just walk the short distance to the park, you two stop by your respective cars. You try and grab the basket and cups in one go but it’s clear that it won’t be happening, the basket’s just too heavy to carry with one hand.
You’re about to give up when the baskets lifted from your hands, turning to see Taehyun lift the load. Leaving you with just the cups. “Thanks.” You mutter. “But I thought we weren’t pretending.”
“Pretending? I don’t like you but I’m not a douche bag.” He remarks. “Plus, it looked like you were about to drop all the food.”
You smile.
After you all settled on the floor (Over the fuzzy blanket Sakura brought.) You sit at the end, Sakura right next to you with Beomgyu and Taehyun side by side on her left.
“You made these yourself?” Sakura breaks the silence brought upon by eating.
You nod, glad that everyone was devouring your food.
“Seriously?” She speaks again, and you lightly shove her.
“Yes, seriously.” You comment. “It’s just a sandwich, you act like its hard.”
“These are really good.” Beomgyu agrees. “I could eat like 15 of these.”
“You could eat 15 of anything.” Taehyun says with a snide. “One time he ate a soggy chip off the floor, we think Odi peed on it.”
Beomgyu yells in denial as you and Sakura bust out laughing.
“Wait.” You stop. “Who’s Odi?”
“Our roommate’s hedgehog.”
“Hedgehog!?”
“Yeah.” Beomgyu answers. “You should come meet him one day. Sakura, you should come too. Taehyun never lets you visit but I can finally show you that vinyl I was talking about.”
Sakura instantly agrees but you freeze up at that. “I don’t know..”
“Oh come on, Taehyun can cook you that shitty ramyeon he swears is the best.” Beomgyu says, eagerly awaiting your agreement.
“You didn’t call it shitty yesterday!”
“It was two in the morning!”
“Anyways,” Beomgyu continues. “You guys should come by tomorrow when I get off work, Taehyun has the day off so he’ll be there.”
“Yeah, Sakura you should go.” You nod.
“What time should I get you?” She qualms.
You shake your head. “I can’t tomorrow. I’m going to a party with my friends.”
“Yeosang’s?” She perks up. “He sent me the invite but I’m not sure I want to go after last time.”
“You mean when you met your best friend?” You say in fake shock, pretending to be hurt. Wiping a fake tear from your eye.
“Not that part!” She smiles. “Anyways, I think I’ll skip out on this one.”
Beomgyu wants to agree. “Ah I forgot that was tomorrow. I want to skip it too, but I’m sure Taehyun will be dragging me out there. You know that anywhere Yeosang is, she’s there too. Which means your brother’s there.”
Sakura nods in understanding. “Even though she has never once looked at Taehyun.”
He just stares back in annoyance. “This will be the time. I swear.”
And you all laugh, though you have no idea what’s going on.
Who was she?
And that smile that was on Taehyuns face as he spoke about her.
Why were you jealous that it wasn’t you who gave it to him?
-
The next afternoon you grab your purse, ready to head out the door as you plan to meet Sakura early. She offered to help you run errands before the party tonight.
Yet, you find yourself answering the door to an unexpected visitor.
Or, more like visitors.
Wooyoung and Yeonjun stood firmly against the door, moving to hold up a bag. You could only begin to guess what was in it anyways.
“Hey beautiful, I missed you.” Wooyoung commented, watching as you fumble with your jacket zipper.
“Hi, I missed you too.” You say, though you just go on about your tasks. “Why the sudden appearance?”
“We can’t just drop by? I wanted to pregame before the party.”
You slip on your shoes though, hoping they understood.
Yeonjun lifts his head up, “Are you going somewhere?”
You furrow your brows. “I’m going to a friend’s place.”
“Let me guess.” Wooyoung starts. “Sakura?”
You sigh. “Does it matter?”
“Kind of.” Yeonjun nods. “I’m beginning to think Sakura isn’t real. You made her up as an excuse to not hang out with us.”
You shake your head. “Oh I see, so you assume that I can’t make friends?”
Yeonjuns eyes widen, his words having come out the wrong way. “That’s not what I meant-”
“But that’s exactly what you said!” You snap. They had just come to aggravate you, it seems. Though, you were reaching your limit. “I’m tired of all of this!”
“All of what?”
“Of you all getting jealous over me making a friend! It’s like you guys can’t stand that it’s not all about you anymore!”
“So we’re the problem?” Wooyoung interjects. “But you’re the one who’s ditched us every time we’ve made plans!”
“Okay, because your idea of ‘plans’ always involve not being sober.”
“Since when do you care about being sober?!”
You pause, you didn’t. Truthfully, you didn’t care much about it, it was just the fact that they could never be sober around you. Like they couldn’t stand the thought of your presence and wanted to pressure you into feeling the same.
“Am I that much of a bore to hang out with that you have to be drunk or high to get along with me?” You meek, tears prickling your eyes. “You guy’s aren’t the guys I used to know.”
“Well no shit,” Yeonjun responds. “We grew up.”
“You’re right.” You agree, wiping at your eyes. “Maybe we just outgrew each other.”
“What?!” Wooyoung exclaims.
“What’re you talking about?”
Moving to grab your jacket, a sigh leaves your mouth. “We don’t seem to be getting along well these days.”
“We don’t?” Yeonjun asks, genuinely confused. “You’re just not acting like yourself.”
“Yes I am!” You yell out. “Maybe you guys just don’t know me!”
“Wait no-”
“This isn’t what I want! Parties and getting wasted is fun a couple times, but you guys live in that! You don’t even care about anything that’s not your next high. And I’m always running trying to keep up with you! I don’t want this anymore! ”
“If that’s how you feel then maybe we shouldn't be around each other anymore.” Yeonjun exclaims, making a point.
Wooyoung’s eyes flickering between the two of you before he nods. “I wouldn’t want you to feel obligated to be our friends.”
“No,” You sigh. “That’s not-”
You’re about to pull your hair out, why were they turning this on you?
“You’re clearly better off without us.” Wooyoung mumbles, grabbing the bag off the counter. “We’ll see ourselves out.”
“Wooyoung!” You attempt. “Yeonjun!”
Yeonjun just follows after. “You wanted to drink, you wanted to sleep with Wooyoung, you wanted to party. Don’t make us out to be the bad guys, you wanted to do all those things. And you could’ve just said no.”
He turns back towards you. “You blame us for everything but no one forced you to take a single drink. You could’ve walked away anytime you wanted. Maybe try taking responsibility for your own damn actions instead of blaming the only people who have ever been there for you.”
Then he slams your front door, you aching to follow behind them. These were your childhood friends, your closest companions. You had even shared your most intimate parts with one of them. But here you were, just letting them walk away.
It felt manipulative, the way they spoke about things.
It wasn’t ever as easy as saying no. Saying no would mean you couldn’t go to parties with them, to soak up their general presence. They would’ve gone on to other things, finding you as their sober friend, boring and a prude. It would’ve put you in two different places, but maybe that was where you needed to be?
Or could you just not take the blame? Were you really deflecting?
Though that night, you find yourselves in the same place. You entering a party you claim you always despise. You head straight to the kitchen, pouring yourself your favorite soda and mixing it with a bottle of stale rum you found. Anything to take the edge off.
The edge that you felt as you walked in alone, without anyone by your side.
You weren’t sure what you were doing here anyways. Your ‘friends’ would be less than happy to see you at this party. Though, you didn’t want to go knocking on Sakura’s door, just dumping your problems onto her. You didn’t know what to do, so you were just doing what was familiar.
You lean on the counter as Chaewon approaches you. “Is it true?”
“What?” You blurt out, wondering how word got to her already.
“Do you really feel that way? Like all we do is pressure you?”
You look down. “Chaewon-”
“You could’ve talked to us, you know? We would’ve laid off what we did around you. We would’ve understood. But you suck at communication, how were we supposed to know how you felt?” She sputters out.
“Well you probably all hate me now, so what’s the point?”
“Hate you?” Chaewon says as she looks around. “Wooyoung and Yeonjun got their feelings hurt, and I did too. But for them it’s different, they need time. How would you feel if your childhood best friend told you that they hated being around you?”
“That’s what it felt like to me. You guys never wanted to do anything I did.”
“You rarely ever asked. We thought you liked parties, we thought you liked thrills! When I met you-”
“People change!” You interrupt, exhausted by the whole ordeal. “Trust me I know. When I met them, they were different too. I just can’t stand what this has all done to you.”
“Well something happened to you too.” She says and then walks away, not even bothering to hide her displeasure.
“I realized who I was.” You scowl to yourself as you mutter, intended for no one to hear.
You just pour yourself another cup, this time of that nasty straight rum. You hadn't even realized you finished the other cup, until you’re pouring again.
A few mutual friends stop by and greet you, you making small conversation as they ask why you’re not attached to the usual boy’s hips. You just nod and wave them off, saying you had a small disagreement, then pouring yourself another cup of whatever concoction had been made in the blender.
The party was started to liven up, people packing in from every corner. You even spot several new faces gathered around Yeonjun and Wooyoung, soaking up their every word. Chaewon hanging off a couple other girl’s arms already, having made a new best friend as far as you could tell. It looked like they weren’t phased by your absence at all. Like you didn’t matter.
You hated this feeling. You hated being left out. This is what you had tried so hard to avoid, yet it all came back full circle. You needed another drink.
You pour yourself another cup, about to rapidly down it when someone puts a hand on your shoulder. “This is your third cup since I started walking this way.”
It’s Beomgyu, he smiles a bit awkwardly, grabbing the cup from your hand.
You whine, “It’s making me feel better.”
“About what?” He asks.
“Losing all my friends.” You pout, face feeling hot. Your vision starting to get wonky as it blurs when you move your eyes around.
“Did you and Sakura fight?”
You shake your head. “No.”
“So you didn’t lose all your friends.” He laughs, though the realization is lost in your lidded eyes and murky brain.
You don’t respond before he speaks again. “You and Yeonjun fought?”
“Yeonjun.” You mumble. “And Wooyoung.”
He nods along, realizing you were probably going to fall over if not for the counter keeping you grounded as you held to it.
“And Chaewon.” You say before a tear leaves your eyes.
Now look, Beomgyu considered himself decent with woman. But if there’s one thing he hasn’t learned how to handle, it’s a crying one. This was not in his lady whisperer manual that he and Soobin (Their roommate) had rented from the library to help them swoon their crushes. It worked for Soobin, somewhat, but Beomgyu’s was still a work in progress. Damn that manual.
“Hey,” He says, lowering his voice as he places his hand on your back. You barely remembering how he got here. “Don’t cry, I’m sure it’ll work out.”
And that somehow made it worse as you burst into tears.
Beomgyu’s attempting to comfort you when Taehyun spots the two of you from across the room. It’s an interesting scene to be honest. A run-of-the-mill party girl letting an anti-social gamer rub her back as she cries her eyes out in the middle of a few dozen people. That was one for the books. Not to mention one was his best friend and the other was you.
He can’t believe this is happening right now of all times. He wants to ignore it, he wants to believe Beomgyu has it under control. He wants to continue the conversation he’s having with this beautiful girl in front of him.
But he can’t.
He doens’t know exactly why, so he chalks it up to saving his friend from an embarrassing situation. Not that he cares about you or anything, right?
Taehyun excuses himself from the girl, ignoring her questions as he works to keep you two in his line of sight. Weaving his way through bodies as he makes it to the kitchen, thankfully in one piece.
You’re hanging off Beomgyu, using his as an anchor, seeing that you clearly can’t walk alone. He’s helping you wipe off your tears with a napkin as Taehyun approaches.
“Don’t tell me.” Beomgyu starts, an annoyed look on his face.
“Don’t tell you what?” Taehyun responds, confused.
“That you left Karina there all by herself! I had this under control.” Beomgyu rants, upset that his friend ruined his own chances. “You had her in the bag!”
“What’re you talking about?”
“You’re so-”
“Kang Taehyun.” You slur, cocking your head to the side. “You like Karina?”
Beomgyu shushes you as Taehyun waves him off. “So what?”
You shrug slowly. “Nothin’.”
Then you start giggling, turning to Beomgyu, as you fail to whisper. “He’s an idiot.”
Taehyun is not amused. “Why’s that?”
“She is not riding that wave buddy.” You laugh drunkenly.
He’s not processing a word you’re saying. “Huh?”
“Karina’s lesbian.” You say, words tumbling out. “She’s been out for a while.”
The two boys stare at each other in shock, mouth agape.
“No way.” Beomgyu says, throwing his head back.
Taehyun feels his heart shatter. “Oh.”
“Awe don’t be sad.” You pout your bottom lip. “There’s other fish..I forgot the saying.”
Taehyun mentally facepalms. “Let’s just go home.”
“Where does she live?”
Taehyun looks down. “I don’t know, I’ll ask Sakura.”
And he quickly sends a text, hoping Sakura will answer soon.
“I’ll drop you off at home.” He turns to Beomgyu. “Then I’ll take her.”
“No,” You protest. “Don’t leave me alone with the monster, he’ll bite my head off.”
Beomgyu pats your head. “You’ll be fine.”
The three of you are ready to head out when you’re stopped by an arm pulling you, it belonging to Wooyoung.
“Where do you think you’re going?” He asks, gesturing to you, though you realize he’s not speaking you but instead to the boys.
“I’m taking her home.” Taehyun says blankly.
“Home?” Wooyoung laughs. “Sure you are.”
Beomgyu moves up to grab you again when Wooyoung pulls you away. Shaking his head, “Two sober guys walking out with a drunk girl who can’t even hold herself up. Not a good look.”
Taehyun breathes out a sigh, this was not a good look. “She’s drunk, she needs to go home.”
“I agree, but I’ll take her home.”
“And why should we let you?” Beomgyu steps in. “She told me you two weren’t friends anymore. Why would we trust you?”
“And who the hell are you?” Another voice chips in, which you recognize as Yeonjun. “She’s never mentioned anything about you two.”
You start lousily pushing against Wooyoung’s arm. “They’re my friends.”
“Friends? What? Did you meet them tonight?”
You spat. “I don’t want two people high of their asses driving me home.”
Wooyoung releases your arm. “Fine, at least you can’t blame us for this decision. You’re doing this all on your own.”
You can’t believe he would go there. Even as you’re drunk, you have half a brain to curse them out, Taehyun dragging you out of there before you can start swinging at them.
Sakura still hasn’t messaged him back to he takes Beomgyu home. Dropping him off and saying he’ll try to pry directions out of you.
Though after about two minutes of trying, it was unsuccessful.
You were halfway asleep as well.
You two just sit in his driveway as you open your eyes suddenly. “Taehyun?”
“Yes?” He says, hoping you’ve sobered up.
“What are you doing here?” You ask.
He should’ve known better.
“I’m trying to take you home but you don’t know how to get there right now, so I’m waiting on Sakura to send me your address.”
“Sakura?” You perk up. “I love her, she’s my bestest friend!”
“I know.”
“She’s the only one I can be normal around.” You muddle. “No need to pretend. She’d never ask me to do something I didn’t want to.”
He nods.
“My other friends aren’t like that.” You start. “I had to pretend so much around them.”
You lull your head to the side. “I don’t even have to pretend around you.”
“That’s different.” He speaks. “You don’t care what I think.”
“No.” You agree. “But you know more of the real me than they do.”
He’s about to speak again when you interrupt them. “Why do you hate me so much?”
“I don’t hate you.” He says honestly. “I just think we’re really different.”
“But we’re not.”
“What do you mean?”
“We have a lot in common.” You smile. “We both like nature, books, silence, and people we can’t have.”
“People we can’t have.” He repeats. “Who’s yours?”
“Wooyoung.” You sigh. “I’ve had a crush on him since we met as kids.”
“He seems to like you back.”
“If he liked me back, he wouldn’t sleep with so many other girls.”
“Maybe he’s trying to get his mind off of you.” Taehyun reasons.
“We used to sleep together.” You say. “I thought it’d make him realize my feelings, that it would bring us closer.”
He stays quiet as you continue. “But it did nothing. Sex is just sex for him, and I can’t live that way anymore. I don’t want to have meaningless sex.”
“I’m sorry.” Is all he can muster.
“I’ve done so much for my friends. I’ve given my mind, my soul, even my body. And all I ever asked in return was for them to be there for me. But I didn’t even know who I was, I didn’t even know what I was doing.”
“Sounds like you have a lot to deal with.” Taehyun responds.
“Too much.” You say. “This, this is not me.”
“You’ll find who you are. I’m positive.”
“I’ll try. I’m not the girl you think I am. I’m tired of being someone I’m not.” You mumble. “You remind me a lot of who I was before I got into all this.”
“You still are that person. You just have to bring them out again.”
Taehyun honestly can’t understand what you’re going through. He sympathizes, yes, but he can’t grasp it.
He’s only ever felt accepted by his friends, never pressured and never like he was giving more than what was being given. He was blessed to have friends who liked him as he was, with his flaws and all.
To put on a persona and to give into pressure for his friends, it was foreign for him. Maybe he was lucky, or maybe it was the opposite. Maybe you were unlucky.
He believed you with his whole heart, he did. You weren’t like them, he knew. Taehyun caught glimpses of you in the past few times Sakura brought you around. You weren’t the carefree party girl that you were painted as.
He cared about you, he wasn’t sure why but he did.
He wanted you to be alright.
-
You wake up in your bed with a stabbing headache and no recollection of how you got there. You’re still in your clothes from last night, your makeup smudged as well. You pray that you didn’t bring anyone home, hoping you’re all alone to gather your thoughts.
What even happened last night?
One of the last things you remember was making yourself drinks after your confrontation with Chaewon. And also memories of Beomgyu?
And Taehyun? Was he there?
Your head throbbed from trying to remember.
Picking up your phone, you see it’s dead and you sigh. You groan as you roll back into bed. Everything hurts. Maybe you’ll take it easy from now on.
You finally bring yourself to get up and take a warm shower, still feeling the sticky air of the party around you. All of it washing away as your muscles relax.
Then you take a Motrin for the headache after breakfast.
Today was a new day and today was a day for change. You couldn’t repeat this cycle again, you had to change, you had to be yourself.
Checking your phone to see if it’s on, you see a dozen missed calls and texts. Some from Sakura, a call or two from Yeonjun, texts from Wooyoung, and one from.. Taehyun?
So it wasn’t a dream?
You call Sakura back first, her saying that Taehyun had driven you home after you got hammered. For which you were extremely embarrassed. She assured you it was fine and urged you to call him later, promptly to thank him.
The next call was to Yeonjun. It was a hard call, a call that led to you discussing childhood memories and that fateful day you met.
“You know I wouldn’t trade that day for anything.” You say over the phone.
“I know. Neither would I.” He responded.
He apologized for what he said and you told him it was alright. It didn’t affect you anymore. You guess it hadn't for a long time.
You thanked him for everything. For the memories and for the times spent. You hold in your sobs over the phone but he can tell from the sniffles. He says if you ever need anything at all, to let him know. And you thank him again.
You open the texts from Wooyoung next, them donning your screen.
1:34 AM
Woo ;): Hey
Woo ;): Did you get home okay?
Woo ;): Who were those guys?
Woo ;): I’m sorry for what I said
Woo ;); I love you
10:22 AM
You: Please don’t say things you don’t mean.
Woo ;): YN
Woo ;): ARE YOU OKAY ?
Woo ;): But I do mean it.
And that prompted a long unrelenting phone call. Wooyoung didn’t want to let you go, and you didn’t want to either. But it wasn’t good for either of you. You know you were only hurting yourself. So you confessed, laid your feelings out bare to him, and his rejection stung. But not as bad as you thought it did. You knew he didn’t like you back, you wouldn’t like you back either. Not with that fake personality you held onto. No but now you were free from it.
You were tired of the games.
Nothing had to be complicated anymore, nothing had to be pretend.
Taehyun’s texts was short and sweet.
Unknown: This is Taehyun, just wanted to be sure you woke up alright
Unknown: Do you want to go see a movie with me?
Unknown: I’m bored and I still don’t like you but Beomgyu’s taking my sister out so.
Unknown: Is that a no?
You smile a little before you type a little yes in, asking for details and what movie. He responds a couple minutes later, offering to pick you up and buy the popcorn.
“This sounds like a date.” You smiled, as you approached him in the lobby, returning from the bathroom to see him holding snacks in his hands.
“Not a date.” He narrows his eyes. “What about ‘I still don’t like you’ did you not get?”
“No no, but you tolerate me.” You speak. “And that’s more than I usually get from people.”
He nudges your shoulders, “That’s what you deserve at the very least loser.”
“Maybe.” You say, grabbing the popcorn from his hands. “Well thanks for giving me the very least.”
“Who paid for the tickets again?” Taehyun asks sarcastically.
“Some dude named Taehyun.”
“Alright, I’m leaving.”
“No!” You shout out playfully. “Then who will I hold onto when I get scared?”
He deadpans. “That’s not happening.”
“Oh but why not-”
“Not happening!”
And you two walk into the theatre, smiles across both of your faces as you entered, your arm linked with his.
(And for the record, he definitely let you hide your face in his shirt as you got scared.)

Winter Wishes
Plot: It is believed that if you make a wish during the first snowfall, it will come true. It is also believed that if you confess to someone during the first snowfall, you will be together forever.
Pairing: Choi Soobin x Gn!Reader
Warnings: A couple kisses towards the end but that's it~
A/n: This is my first time writing for Soobin (and TXT) I hope you like it!
Words: 1.9k
You stared up at the cloudy sky as the cold sank into your bones. Part of you regretted choosing to walk home from the restaurant, but a bigger part of you was glad. Solely due to the man walking beside you.
When you had left the restaurant, not wanting to stay for drinks, you whispered to Kai that you'd walk, since it was only a fifteen minute walk back to your house through the nearby park.
You didn't get very far down the road before Soobin was running after you, insisting he walk you back home.
His offer wasn't rejected, and you even felt a little giddy as you continued to walk together. Soobin was always kind to you, almost unnecessarily so. You hoped it meant he had feelings for you, just as you had for him, but you didn't know for certain. The two of you were close, but maybe it was just you hoping for something that wasn't really there, maybe he was just nice.
As you made your way into the park, you noticed the glances he kept throwing you, and you felt a little more nervous every time. You kept waiting for him to say something, but he remained silent.
As something bright caught your eye, you looked out in the distance and noticed bright lights shining out into the sky.
"Oh, look at that!" You called out, causing Soobin to halt and look where you pointed.
He stepped beside you as you turned to watch the lights.
"Must be a lightshow."
You nodded as you continued to watch as various colors shined up into the sky. "Too bad it's not closer."
Soobin looked over at you and felt his chest grow warm at the soft smile on your face. He was happy that he decided to walk you home. And grateful to Kai who had told him you were walking.
Every time Soobin had time alone with you, he always hoped for the same thing. The courage, or perfect moment to tell you how he felt about you. But one of two things always seemed to happen. One, he chickened out for a little too long and lost the chance. Or two, someone or something would interrupt the moment.
Now that he stood beside you, just the two of you again, maybe he finally had the perfect moment.
Feeling Soobin's gaze on you again, you looked over, obviously catching him by surprises as he seemed to jolt from the sudden eye contact.
Soobin kept eye contact with you as he built up courage in his head. Just as he was about to speak your eyes suddenly darted from his to something just between the two of you.
Soobin spotted what you saw and watched as the snowflake slowly drifted to the ground.
As you looked up, Soobin followed your line of sight, as the two of you watched the white flakes appear above you and float down from the darkened sky.
Soobin glanced back to you and felt his heart skip at the sight of your excited grin. As you caught his eyes again his breath caught in his throat.
"The first snow!" You said happily as you looked back up at the sky, the snow slowly becoming heavier each moment.
Soobin's smile widened as he watched you, enjoying the joy and excitement radiating off of you as you slowly spun around, looking around as the snow began slowly caking the ground around you.
"You should make a wish."
You turned back to face with with a smile, "Oh yeah!"
Clasping your hands together as you closed your eyes Soobin let out a soft endearing chuckle as you hummed, concentrating hard.
He watched as you muttered something he couldn't hear before you tilted your head up an remained sill for a moment.
It was hard to think of a wish when you could feel Soobin's eyes burning into you. Since he seemed to be the only thing on your mind, you decided you might as well wish now for something you had wished for a dozen times.
"I wish for Soobin to return my feelings, and love me in return."
It was childish, cheesy and maybe a bit stupid, but it was what you wanted. You adored Soobin, and loved everything about him, you had for what felt like forever, even possibly from the moment you met. He was perfect to you, and everything you could want in someone to love. Maybe the wish was more desperate than anything, but it was still your wish.
When Soobin could tell you were thinking deeply about your wish, he closed his eyes and tilted his head up to the sky, just as you had.
"I wish to be with Y/n forever."
He wanted you to have feelings for him, to want to date him, to want to be with him. But if you didn't share his feelings, he still hoped he could be by your side forever. Even if it had to be just as friends. He could never see his life without you in it, and he didn't want to.
As your eyes fluttered open, you saw Soobin opening his own at the same time. You smiled at each other as you let out a soft giggle. Looking around at the snow again, you suddenly felt a chill as the temperature began to drop.
Soobin noticed this, and as much as he wanted to stay here with you, he didn't want you to get sick.
"Come on." He muttered softly, and you nodded as you began walking beside him, continuing through the park.
As the two of you walked, Soobin purposefully stood closer to you than before, his arm gently brushing yours as the two of you walked together. His eyes scanned the park, before catching on a couple laughing and talking together as they headed through the park.
They were holding hands as they walked, and Soobin suddenly felt a sense of envy wash over him. Sparing a glance at you, he noticed that you had been watching them too.
Clearing his throat, he spoke softly, the confidence he hoped to portray falling flat as his toe came out more reserved.
"You know... it's believed that if you confess to someone during the first snow you'll be together forever."
Your heart raced at his words as you looked up at him, seeing him glance at the cute couple you had been watching a moment ago.
You couldn't help but wonder if they were the sole reason that thought came to his mind, or if he was thinking of something else, or someone else.
You smiled as your face grew warm. "That's a beautiful thought."
Soobin grinned at this as he nodded, hoping that somehow, you knew what he wanted to do, where this was leading. Fearing he may catch you so off guard you would reject him.
"Do you believe it? That couples will stay together forever after a confession during the first snow?" You asked after a moment.
Soobin looked over at you, feeling his heart race faster by the moment.
"Like you said, it's a beautiful thought. So I would like too."
You nodded as you smiled softly, "Me too."
Soobin suddenly stopped in his tracks, and you turned to look back at him with a confused look. He was staring at you, a much more intense gaze on his face than before, and you felt your chest clench tightly.
"Should we test it?"
You stared at him in silence as you tried to keep control of your racing heart. Was he joking? Was he serious?
"W-what?"
Stepping closer, he swallowed nervously and stepped even closer, stopping as he stared down into your face, his chest almost brushing yours.
"Should we test it?" He repeated, his voice more confident.
You opened your mouth to reply, but found no words. Soobin smiled softly at your bewilderment as he reached up an brushed some snow from your hat.
"I want too. With you."
"With me?" Your voice was just above a whisper.
He nodded, "I like you Y/n. So much that it hurts. So much that anytime you aren't around I feel like I'm missing a part of myself. I want to be with you as much as I can."
Soobin gently took your hand in his as he squeezed it softly.
"I want to be by your side forever. Even if you don't love me, or can't love me, I still want to be here, right here."
"Soobin-" You muttered, before your voice stopped as you wracked your brain for what to say.
Soobin stared at you, waiting for you to continue, his heart racing, and his chest growing tighter as the moment of silence dragged on.
"I want to be with you too."
Soobin let out a shuddered breath in relief as you finally spoke, his smile growing wider at your words.
You smiled up at him as you continued. "I had convinced myself my feelings were one sided."
Soobin shook his head, expressing once more he truly did feel the same.
You squeezed his hand as you briefly pressed your face into his chest out of bashfulness. He chuckled joyfully at the action as he rested his hand on the back of your head.
Looking back up at him you grinned. "I really like you Soobin, I have for so long."
Grinning, he suddenly pulled you into a hug as he embraced you, squeezing you tightly as joy and relief erupted through him.
He rested his head on top of yours for a moment as he held you, letting the emotions flow through him freely.
You muttered softly into his chest, "So we're gonna test it?"
Soobin smiled, "Yeah we are. And I think we'll prove it right."
You pulled away and looked into his eyes, "You really want to be with me forever?"
He stared into your eyes softly as he nodded, before bringing his hands to your face. "I really do."
You grinned at each other as a mutual pull seemed to form between you. You glanced at each others lips before slowly inching forward tentatively.
Pausing just as your lips brushed, your eyes met as if to confirm you wanted the same thing. When no reservation was shown, your lips met slowly, the touch soft yet cold due to the cold night embracing you.
Soobin slowly deepened the kiss as his hand drifted to your waist to keep you close. You gently gripped the collar of his coat as you leaned into his touch.
When the two of you broke the kiss a few moments later, you stared into each others eyes before smiles slowly formed on your faces.
You chuckled and he furrowed his brow, "What?"
He caressed your cheek as you continued to grin at him. "I just didn't expect my wish to come true so soon."
Soobin felt his heart clench as he pressed his forehead against yours, his smile growing wide. "Seems like we had similar wishes then."
"Yeah?"
He nodded, "But, mine's a little ongoing."
"How so?"
He hummed, "I can't tell you, otherwise it wont come true."
You glared playfully before you giggled. "Alright, don't tell me. But I'll make it come true, whatever it is."
Quickly pressing another kiss to your lips, he grinned, "You promise?"
You nodded confidently, "I promise."

A pizza box slid onto the table, the three of you nestled in the chairs around it, knees either pulled into your chest or underneath you. Beomgyu was to your left, Taehyun to your right. Soda cans littered the wood, open bags of chips scattered about. The three of you were heavy lidded and glassy eyed, snacks were essential.
“Someone gonna keep telling me what else you guys did down in ‘Mano?” Jungkook asked, flipping the box open, the smell of the cheesy, greasy deliciousness smacking you all across the face. Mouth watering in an instant, you dove in first, ripping a slice apart.
Beomgyu, licking his lips, watched you pop the slice in your mouth and went in next. “We told you everything.” He answered his brother without much interest, his mind on filling his growling stomach.
“I don’t think you did,” Jungkook smirked, leaning against the edge of the table, gripping the wood.
Taking another bite, the taste entirely overwhelming, the best pizza you’ve ever fucking eaten, you quirk a brow and glance at Taehyun, then Beomgyu, then Jungkook. “What have we already said?”
The eldest tried to hide his laugh, dropping his head for a moment. “Drinks, that’s about it,” he said, looking at you. His eyes were steady, holding yours with a purpose. “But something else is going on,” he looked around the table before he landed back on you, “Since y’all got here it’s been… off. What happened?”
You immediately turned to Taehyun with both eyebrows raised. His hand flew up fast, mid bite into his pizza. He wagged a finger and hummed.
“No,” he eventually mumbled. Swallowing, he shook his head. “No.”
“No?” Jungkook scanned over the three of you, curiosity eating him alive. “You guys used to tell me everything, you can totally tell me.”
Taehyun pointed a finger at Beomgyu. “He used to tell you everything.”
Following his point, Jungkook cocked his head. “Still does.”
The fire in his eyes when he glanced back at the two of you made your heartbeat stutter. Beneath the dark chocolate, the warm, inviting, lively eyes, he was taunting you. He was taunting both of you. A smile grew on his lips, the corners perking up as he saw it work out in your brain. You couldn’t even get a gasp out.
“Yup,” Jungkook said. “So? Lemme hear it.”
You aren’t sure what would’ve happened in this moment if you weren’t fried out of your mind. Imagining two possibilities, one a freak out, and another a panic attack, you suppose either would be aimed toward Beomgyu, the boy glaring at his brother. If he wasn’t fried out of his mind he’d definitely flip his shit.
“I can’t believe you just said that,” he mumbled instead with a slow blink before he housed the rest of the pizza in his hand. Yours had dropped to the table at some point.
A laugh came from your right. A quiet, breathy laugh laced in disbelief. Taehyun, with the biggest, toothiest grin with his head in hands leaned forward onto the table, shoulders bouncing as he laughed. Now there was a spark of panic within you, a small flame igniting in your gut. Looking over at Jungkook, who watched you with a new look, one that made him seem worried, though you couldn’t tell if you were reading too much into it, you gulped painfully, your throat like sandpaper.
“What are you talking about?” Your question came out of you in a whisper, Jungkook glancing between the boys, one who didn’t seem to care, and another who found it all too hilarious. Used to being on the outside of the joke, this was one you couldn’t stand, not when it threatened the safety of the happy little world you’ve secluded yourself into.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes, his composure steady as a rock. “You know what I’m talking about.”
“How do I know what you’re talking about?” Trying to throw him off, the muscle pig who’s been smoking since he was twelve, an expert at handling his high, he started to smile.
“Save it,” he said, shaking his head. “I know it’s true and so do you,” he pushed away from the table, pointing at the boys before turning to get another soda from the fridge. “So do these two.”
Looking at them both, Beomgyu grabbing another slice of pizza, and Taehyun laying on the wood laughing quietly to himself, you sighed. “What the hell, Gyu?”
“Don’t blame me,” he muttered, barely giving you a glance.
Jungkook spun around and came back to the table, sliding you the soda he grabbed, already opened. “Yeah, don’t blame him,” he said. “Y’all are messy when you aren’t home, you know that?”
Eyes shooting open wide, you scoffed and Taehyun lifted his head, his cheeks pink. Wearing that grin, he looked at you, then he looked at Jungkook.
“He knows,” Taehyun snickered, his voice quiet. He pointed at Jungkook, his hand merely leaving the table.
Tightening your fists where they laid over the wood, you furrowed your brows and shook your head. “No, no he doesn’t. He doesn’t.” You shot the eldest a look. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“It’s okay,” Jungkook said, taking his place back at the edge of the table, muscles buckling as he locked his elbows. Your shameless, traveling eyes ate him alive. You wondered if it was noticeable, you gawking at him, but you weren’t gawking, you were… admiring. Muscles, tattoos, a few piercings… God, he was hot. “Eyes up here,” he joked, gesturing upward. Shifting in your seat you glanced to your left, Beomgyu was already judging you with a glare. It was noticeable.
“Whatever you’re thinking, you’re wrong,” you said, clamping your arms around your body, blinking many times, moving straight past the way your cheeks flushed.
Jungkook was quiet, for longer than you’d like. Only his eyes seemed to move, interrogating each of you, waiting for someone to crack. Taehyun, already a flustered mess, couldn’t focus on anything. Beomgyu, balls deep in another slice of pizza, wasn’t interested anymore nor concerned with the fact he’d put you in some sort of danger.
Maybe danger was extreme, but it didn’t matter. It was still bad, very, very bad.
The heat of Jungkook's stare burning a hole in your face was too much to bear. The smoke took control. “Fine, he’s my boyfriend.”
Taehyun’s giggles vanished.
“Boyfriend?” Jungkook questioned, looking at his brother.
Beomgyu stopped chewing, eyes widening ever so slightly.
“Baby,” Taehyun whispered, leaning toward you in his seat.
Jungkook nearly broke his neck. “Baby?!”
“He said he knew,” you tossed your hands at your sides. “It’s Jungkook, you know how many times he’s probably heard us fuck?!”
“Oh my god,” Beomgyu muttered.
Jungkook pushed back from the table and drug his hands through his curls. Wandering back toward the counters you heard him take a deep breath, and then another. The air in the room grew cold, a chill settling over your skin. Gulping, the look on Taehyun’s face was detrimental to your heart. His hands were stretched out, toward you, limp. The shock stung. It stung you both.
“I thought it was you two,” Jungkook finally spoke after a minute of disgustingly thick silence, motioning toward you and Beomgyu. Taehyun’s eyes found the table.
Taking a peek at Beomgyu who now watched his brother, you said, “It is,” and Jungkook’s face screwed up in confusion.
“But, you just said it’s you two,” he narrowed his eyes, taking in how Taehyun didn’t move.
Taking an audible breath, you whispered, “It is.”
A sound mimicking the shock and pure terror you were feeling fell from Jungkook’s lips that had perked up into the tiniest smile. He propped himself up against the counters and crossed his arms. You didn’t let yourself look this time.
“You’re kidding me,” he said. Taehyun turned his chin to look at him, as did Beomgyu. “The three… All three of you.” All three of you nodded. Jungkook scoffed, his shock melting into amusement. Looking from Beomgyu to Taehyun, back to Beomgyu, Jungkook pointed his finger. “Do, uh… Do you two…?”
Beomgyu ran his tongue over his lips, raising a brow. “Sometimes.”
Taehyun dropped his head back into his hands with a heavy sigh, you couldn’t tell if out of shame or just pure embarrassment that this was a topic of conversation at the moment.
“Huh,” Jungkook nodded, drinking it all up, focused on his brother. “So it does run in the family.”
“I’m not gay,” Beomgyu spat.
Jungkook laughed. “Oh, no, no, Gyu,” he taunted. “You can’t keep your dick in your pants, you were wrong. You are one of us.” The softest snicker came out of where Taehyun hid his face. “Besides, even if you were gay you’d think I care?” He clicked his tongue, “Grow up. Suck as many dicks as you want.” Now the three of you were laughing, Taehyun picking up his head to show off his smile. “I wanna know what y’all are,” he said, then looked at you and Taehyun. “What’s this boyfriend business? Y’all are like, step-siblings, that’s… Oh,” he paused, tilting his chin, puffing out his bottom lip toward Taehyun, “Dude, I can find you other sites…”
Taehyun cut him off with a shout and swat of his hand while you and Beomgyu giggled, Jungkook laughing along with you. Thankfully Taehyun did as well, sitting backward in his chair, tipping his head backward with a groan, his cheeks unable to stop cheesing.
“Tell me. I wanna know, too.” Jungkook was smug, shaking his shoulders back and forth with the funniest smile. He used his elbow to point at each of you. “This whole time I thought you were fuckin’ my brother and you were watching.”
Taehyun furrowed his eyebrows. Memories of a few days prior popped into your head.
“Sometimes someone ends up watching,” Taehyun began, his smile calming down. “But, when it’s… God, this is weird to say to you… When it’s the three of us, we’re…”
“All involved…” you breathed, side eyeing him in hopes it was okay for you to step into his choppy explanation.
Beomgyu rolled his eyes. “Jesus Christ,” he muttered, facing his brother. “He fucks her, I fuck her, I fuck him, he fucks me, we all fucking fuck.”
Jungkook's heart shaped lips had parted, his star filled eyes wide. Beomgyu’s words made you want to curl up in a literal ball and pass away. All you could do was laugh. All Taehyun could do, was laugh. Beomgyu released a heavy, audible breath and slumped backward, shaking his head.
Covering your mouth, you turned toward him. “I can’t believe you just said all of that out loud.”
“Wasn’t the first time,” he mumbled under his breath, glaring at his brother. “Happy now?”
Jungkook snapped his mouth shut. A smirk tugged at his lips as he clapped his hands together. “Amazing,” he said. “Now it makes sense. You didn’t say yes,” he mocked the twang in his brother's deep voice and studied Taehyun. “What are you, the permission giver? The leader?” He shot you and his brother a look. “Brat tamer?” Beomgyu snickered with you.
Taehyun, rubbing a hand over his chest, took a breath to calm down and stared at the table. “I’m…” he glanced up at you and your heart stopped beating. “She’s… She’s my girlfriend.” Nerves erupted in your gut, your entire body going still. Taehyun offered you a smile, one you couldn’t return.
Paralyzed, you couldn’t even look at Jungkook. Frozen, you clenched your jaw, wondering why it didn’t feel good to hear him say the words.
He was still talking to Jungkook, the two continued on, discussing who knows what about your relationship. You heard mentions of your parents not knowing, about Yeonjun not knowing, about everyone not knowing, except him.
Between your lungs tightened, your ribs constricting your breath from the inside out. Averting your stare to the table, you tried to breathe, a short gasp of air that did nothing to ease the, you think, panic? Was it panic? Chest pain, shortness of breath, you couldn’t remember all the shit that came with it.
He was so calm about it, saying the words to Jungkook. She’s my girlfriend. They were words that were rarely spoken around others, even the boy to your left.
A hand found your arm, Beomgyu’s, wrapping around your wrist. Barely turning your chin, he was looking at you, his body facing you entirely, both of his feet on the floor. “It’s okay,” his voice quiet, the other boys laughing at something Jungkook had said. “You’re okay. It’s Jungkook, it’s okay.”
He could read it all within your eyes. Everything you were feeling, everything you wanted to say. There was little to nothing he could say to you in this moment that would make you feel any better about it.
Bobbing his head, agreeing to something he decided on himself inside his head, he turned toward his brother and crossed a foot over one of his knees. “JK,” he started, cutting the boys off, probably details deep in you and Taehyun. The eldest, mid sentence, used to his brother cutting into every conversation of his, shot him a look. “Sorry,” Beomgyu’s lazy smile made an appearance, your heart somewhat holding onto it. “Info goes both ways here.”
“So do you, apparently.” Jungkook smiled after you and Taehyun laughed. He looked toward your boyfriend briefly, “You do too, Alabama.” The giggles had finally found you again, Beomgyu hitting you with his smile, happy to see you squeeze your eyes shut as his brother spoke. “What info, Gyu?”
“They didn’t know you were having a kid,” Beomgyu said. You admired the way he gazed at his brother, evident that he looked up to him more than he liked to let on. Aside from Hyunjin, Jungkook was the only older male figure in his life, holding down the life they lived with Jihyo before he moved out.
“Yeah, what is that?” Taehyun asked. “When the hell did that happen? You said she’ll be here soon?”
“It’s a girl?” You spoke up, voice tiny, all the boys pointing their gazes toward you.
Jungkook smiled, a real smile. Proud.
“It’s a girl,” he said. Thinking to himself for a moment, eyes wandering the tiled floor, he nodded. “In two months she’ll be here. I was just with Chaeyoung this weekend, she had a doctor's appointment, we got to, uh, we got to see her.” Jungkook twisted his fingers together, looking away from the three of you as his smile faded into something small.
“You’re excited,” you said, and he met your eyes. Another nod from him warmed your heart. “Is Chae excited?”
His eyes dropped back to the floor. You were about to regret your question until he opened his mouth.
“She is.” He rolled his shoulders back and sighed, sharing a look with Beomgyu. “We just have to work some things out, that’s all.”
“What stuff?” Taehyun was focused on the tattooed boy, eyes grilling him, almost seeming like he was judging him.
Not judging, analyzing.
“Well,” Jungkook sighed again, “She only told me a month ago.” Gasping, Jungkook huffed a laugh toward you. “I know,” he raised his brows, the piercing catching the light as he tilted his chin. “She said she didn’t know how to tell me.”
“She had seven months,” you muttered.
Taehyun shot you a quick look before he asked Jungkook, “Is that not when you guys broke up?”
Jungkook thinned his lips. “It was right when we broke up.”
The two dated for four years, Chaeyoung and Jungkook, and she was the only one out of all his girlfriends that you absolutely adored. Aside from her stunning complexion, bright eyes, and fun hair, she was a sweetheart, and funny as fuck. Jungkook was already a trip himself, put the two together and you’d all be rolling for hours on end. She was a girls girl, she kept an eye on you when you were around, and always asked you if you were okay. She was the one to teach you that doing your hair and makeup didn’t matter if you didn’t want to wear it, and taught you how to perfect a messy bun. Sleepovers at Jungkooks were your favorite when she was around, she treated you all like her little siblings, not just Beomgyu.
“You remember when it happened?” Beomgyu snickered, one of his nails finding its way between his teeth. Leaning toward him you grabbed his wrist and threw his hand into his own lap. The look he gave you, you ignored.
“It’s not that weird,” Jungkook shrugged. “I didn’t wear a condom.” The sudden switch in his tone, from calm to literal older brother, straightened all of you out. He closed his eyes and sighed, a hand touching his forehead. “You guys are twenty, you need to be smarter. Feel like I’m talking to teenagers. You guys let anyone else in on this… this situation? Jesus, I don’t even know what the fuck to call it.”
“No.” The word loud, with emphasis, left the three of you at once.
“Okay,” Jungkook’s tone switched back to calm, collected. “Still, protect yourselves. You do not need to get sick and you do not need to be having kids.” He shared a look with his brother. “Especially you.” The boy rolled his eyes and hung his head, his fingers messing with each other. “I’m sure if you two do, your daddy will take care of it all, right Taehyun?” Jungkook’s smile made Taehyun scoff. “You take that job yet?”
“Nah,” he shook his head. “I dunno if I can do all that. Numbers, money? I can barely tell colors apart.” Beomgyu just about snorted.
It was always in the cards for Taehyun to take a position below Jin at the company he worked for, at HGF, Han Guardian Finance. A prestigious bank that’s beginning to slowly inch its way around the country. At least that’s what Jin has told you, that’s their goal, him and the CEO’s son, Han Jisung. They want the company to go worldwide, and even Joy thinks that’s too ambitious. She’s always warned Jin that his now partner, Jisung, leaned into the greedier side of the work world, of life. That he should be cautious, that Jisung would take whatever he could get, throw away whatever was needed to make more, to have more.
Joy said that. Joy.
“That’s good money, dude,” Jungkook said. “He’s giving it to you, you don’t even have to interview or nothing. He’ll probably build you your own office once you say yes. You could move out to your own place after a month of working there, you realize that?” Taehyun listened, his head nodding more and more as Jungkook spoke, advising him like he was another little brother. “It’d be stupid of you not to take it. What else are you gonna do? College?”
“Never,” Taehyun breathed. He spared you a quick glance. “What if I hate it though?”
Jungkook tried his best to not roll his eyes, a smirk playing at his lips. “I’d rather be rich and hate my job than be living paycheck to paycheck, wondering how the fuck I’m gonna raise a daughter when I can barely keep what I have now in line.”
Beomgyu wiggled in his seat, his eyes pointed down. Jungkook peered toward him without him noticing, some type of compassion, or care within his look. The eldest adored him as much as the youngest respected him. Brothers, siblings, a bond you’ve never experienced, and never will. The two of them best friends, counting on one another, helping one another, being there, the two of them literally made for the other. Two extremely different beings, having come from the same place, not the same in the slightest, but with the same blood coursing through their veins.
It was beautiful, their relationship, something you’ve been envious of since the start. When Jungkook started to date Chaeyoung, that’s the closest you’ve felt to having someone fill the role of big sister. That is, until you met Dina. Still, a piece of you wished to know what it felt like, to have a sibling. To have someone belong to you, because they share a piece of you. They understand you, because, in some way, they are you.
You turned to Jungkook, the question eating you alive from the inside out, stopping each boy where he was. “Are you gonna marry her?”
Taehyuns eyes were hot on you. Beomgyu ogled his brother.
Jungkook bit his lip, taking the silver ring into his mouth. A gentle chuckle came out of him. “If she says yes.”
Beomgyu lurched forward in his seat, this clearly being the first he’s heard of it. “What are you talking about? You told me days ago you were-”
“Nope,” Jungkook cut him off. “I was pissed, don’t take that seriously.”
Beomgyu slumped back and groaned, folding his arms over his chest tight. “Then why say it if you don’t mean it?”
Jungkook gave him a look that told him to brush it off while apologizing at the same time. “We’re going to see Whitney tomorrow.”
“I hate her,” Beomgyu grumbled.
Jungkook sighed. “No you don’t.” The glare he got in return was lethal. “The answer is,” he focused back on you, “I want to. I’m ready to ask her. I love her. I love our daughter already. These months of being broken up were really stupid, and immature. We’ve got some shit to sort out, but who doesn’t. I’m about to be twenty four, I can be a dad, I can be a husband.” A laugh came from Beomgyu. Jungkook returned the glare he had gotten moments prior. “Shut up.”
“No, come on, I think it’s cute you wanna play daddy,” Beomgyu smirked. “Also think it's ridiculous you’re exactly like Hyunjin, ‘cept without the addict part. I’d like to see you be a house-husband, that should be fun.”
“I think it’s great,” you said, voice quiet, watching Jungkook as he moved to give you a smile. Now Beomgyu’s eyes were hot on you too, his neck nearly snapping toward you in shock. “I love Chae, too. I miss her. And I think you’ll be a really good dad.” Considering what had happened with his own, you know there was no need to bring up how much practice he’s gotten already. How you just know he would take the example he was given, and do the exact opposite. The action he’s taken already, how he’s dove head first into it, seeming with little resentment given he’s only just found out about his child.
“Thanks,” Jungkook said. “Chaeyoung was talking about you the last time I was with her.” A smile found your lips. “She misses you, too. She hopes… She hopes you’re okay.” He let his gaze drag over the three of you. “She’s so smart.” He laughed. “She guessed this before I even realized what was happening. You three.”
“She did?” you whispered.
Jungkook nodded. “Yeah, she knows. Figured it out herself.” He popped his brows and smiled at you. “Girl intuition is crazy.”
Swallowing hard, you blinked and glanced at your lap. Taking a deep breath, you tried to ease the nerves that crept up within you. You looked at Taehyun, who was now talking with Jungkook, and tightened your jaw.
Girl intuition is crazy.
