The worst timeline…
A lot of people say that Bonten was the best timeline, maybe it really was, but at the same time I wasn’t satisfy with it. Not only because of Mikey, but seeing Koko and Kakucho in Bonten was quite sad.
That’s why I’m glad that Koko and Inupi made up in the last arc. While Kakucho… Well, he made the decision to sacrifice himself. But I still hope that he will survive like it happen in Tenjiku.
Anyway, I’ve always considered Takemichi first timeline as the worst because (not in order):
Draken is killed
Baji and Kazutora probably died
Chifuyu probably died trying to avenge Baji
Mitsuya depressed for Draken death
Mikey probably consumed by his dark impulse or disappeared
Emma probably was killed (Emma was Mikey last family and Kisaki need to kill her to release the dark impulses)
Koko and Inupi becoming criminal and never speak about their trauma
Hakkai corrupted by Kisaki (?)
Kisaki probably got rid of Pah-chin and Peh-yan, too
Naoto and Hina are killed
Takemichi has and unhappy life and died (if he hadn’t time leaped)
To sum up: in this timeline Kisaki was the only one happy
But now the original timeline has become the worst. And not only because of Mikey’s condition:
Mikey died
Shinichiro became crazy
Emma ran away from home
Sanzu is a problematic child
Baji doesn’t go to school (rebel phase?)
Because Mikey was in that condition, Toman never existed.
Draken never met Mikey, the option I can think about him are:
He went the wrong path
He and Mitsuya formed a gang by themself
If he likes bike because of Shinichiro influence, he probably had a different dream in this timeline
Ha can be either happy or unhappy, depending on how he chooses to live at least, he won’t be killed by Kisaki)
If Kazutora never met Baji:
He keep being the slave of his “friends”
Since he lived in a abusive household, he will never understand the difference of right and wrong
He lives a lonely life without any friends
Since Baji doesn’t go to school, Chifuyu never meet him and stay a loner who hate the world.
Koko and Inupi issue: probably never resolved.
Also, since Shinichiro stay with Mikey all the time and Waka is a yakuza, Inupi never become devote to Black Dragons. Thus, he has no reason to invite Taiju to join the gang. I wonder how he overcome his sister death by himself and how he deal with Koko.
Speaking of Taiju, he doesn’t seem particularly interested in gang life. He is a born leader, but he joined Black Dragon only after meeting Inui. Nevertheless, Shiba family situation would be the same.
And I doubt that Izana and Kakucho were happy, either. I wonder if Izana would have approached Kakucho if he never met Shinichiro, since Shinichiro had a huge impact on Izana. The only good thing that can happen is that Emma and Izana reunited again and living like real siblings.
However, when Shinichiro went to meet Izana he was already a timeleaper. He probably want Izana and Emma to be together again, but at the same time Shinichiro talk all the time about Mikey to the point Izana got really tired about it. Izana was very possessive about Shinichiro, but that’s not the point.
The point is that Shinichiro failed all his plans to save Mikey. For example, he thinks that it was a good idea to introduce Izana in his family, but how he intended to do it was bad for Izana.
And we don’t know the fate of Takemichi. Kisaki could execute his plan anyway. Just because Toman never existed, it doesn’t mean that Kisaki couldn’t think about another plan. He just need to manipulate the stronger gang leader that existed in the original timeline, he chose Mikey just because he was the strongest in the other timeline.
Unless in the original timeline Takemichi was indeed the leader of the strongest gang.
Prediction next chapter:
So, Shinichiro went to meet this old man who can time leap as long as he has a trigger. Supposing Shinichiro learned from him the secret of time leaping, I think that he could have use different triggers.
The possible choice are Baji, Sanzu and Wakasa (since they are the ones that appear in this chapter). However, time leaping works only when time leaper and trigger has the same purpose. So, what if Shinichiro could time leaped with there triggers, but the trigger has a different purpose?
I don’t know about Baji, but in this chapter he seems in a rebel phase a doesn’t care for anything anymore. He could work as a trigger, but inside him he doesn’t believe that it was possible to save Mikey.
Sanzu has an idealized vision about Mikey. He said “that it’s not Mikey” and in the current timeline he is obsessed with dark impulse mode Mikey. His idea of “Mikey” is distorted since 4 years has passed since the incident.
Wakasa seems to care more for Shinichiro well-being that for Mikey. His desire is not to “save Mikey”, but just want to prevent Shinichiro to become crazy. Maybe in the timeline Shinichiro got killed by Kazutora, the trigger at the time was Wakasa. That’s why Wakasa feels guilty about it.
However, I still wonder why Takemichi is supposed to be the only one able to save Mikey. And how Kisaki knew about time leaping. And what Shinichiro did to create Takemichi original timeline where Kisaki ruled Japan.

Secondly, Shinichiro is a very interesting character. From this chapter, it puts things in perspective. In the other timelines, we learned that Takemichi shared similarities with Shinichiro - mainly his fighting spirit and his physical weakness, but what if all that was fake? What if Shinichiro actually knew how to fight and was actually strong but put on a façade to appear weak? When Waka said if Shinichiro joined his gang, they’d be number one, I thought it was a bit odd because yeah he’s charismatic but how would that translate to being number one when you’d still be the leader..? You need manpower too. Well the end of the chapter proved that Shinichiro has that. He took out that whole group of guys on his own without any effort. I thought it could be “dark impulses” for a second but I don’t think that’s what that was. He’s lost his inhibition. That’s why I wonder if he wanted to set an example for Mikey that you don’t only need physical strength to get to the top but you need the will too. Because remember in the original timeline, Mikey wasn’t overly violent or “dark” - he was an excitable kid who looked up to his big brother and wanted to be like him. Idk I’m rambling but like where did this come from??? 😭

I don't have much to say about today's chapter, maybe because I feel more than I can speak. Imagine Manjiro's situation, how his friends have to see him age and die slowly even though clinically it is as if he already was. Without being able to react to any external stimulus, lights, words, without even being able to move. I don't want to imagine what Baji and Sanzu feel.
Shinichiro is just the perfect brother and seeing how he struggles leaving his own dreams behind (because I assume he had other plans than being a caretaker) for his brother; see the desperation in his eyes, how he breaks down and tries to move on.
I think that disabilities like this are not talked about enough both in literature and in series and movies, and it is important because it could happen to anyone. Seeing Sanzu talk about how someone was talking shit about Manjiro also broke me a bit.
There is a lot of misinformation on these topics and many people who don't know what the limit of humor is. That's not humor. I've hated seeing these days certain people make harmful jokes about Manjiro, and that says a lot about them, as much as it is a fictional character it still shows that there is a certain line in society that divides disabled and the "ordinary" people.
I admire Shinichiro and all those people who study professions as difficult as medicine, nursing, etc., who work in laboratories looking for solutions and who dedicate themselves to the dissemination of scientific topics. You're all great, thank you
I think I have nothing more to say. I'm really loving these chapters about Shinichiro
