Ponyboy

perfectly golden brown

goes on an inner monologue abt how classic and comforting marshmallows around a campfire are every time he eats one

also puts it in his mouth the second it’s of the flame and complains bc he burnt his tongue

Soda pop

also perfectly golden brown

he’s very proud that ponyboy takes after him when it comes to marshmallow toasting

Darrel

has a perfect system on how to get the perfectly toasted marshmallow

3inches from the fire(yes he does measure he always keeps a tape measure in his back pocket)

and 10 seconds on all sides then another 5 seconds to cool off

he has to explain it every time he toasts marshmallows

Johnny

the first time he’d every sat around a campfire,toasted a marshmallow,made s’mores,or even eaten a marshmallow was with the gang bc the Curtis brothers found out he’d never made s’mores or even eaten a marshmallow before

they set up a campfire invited over everyone in the gang to cook marshmallows over a campfire

Johnny had no idea what to do bc he’d never done this before bc his parents didn’t love him enough to do this with him

so he tried every member of the gangs way of cooking marshmallows and he decided he thought toasted marshmallows were gross and now he eats them raw in a s’mores

Steve

literally shoves his marshmallow directly into the campfire for a couple of seconds and whatever amount of cooked it is that’s what he eats even if it comes out on fire that’s what he puts directly into his mouth

(soda pop looks at him in disgust ever time he does this)

Two bit

lets his burn a little too much but lets it cool off at least

Dallas

hates marshmallows but he eats s’mores with Johnny bc he has a soft spot for him

but he has to tell everyone it’s only ever going to happen just this once bc he’ll make an exception for Johnny

(but he does it every time anyway)
