all these mlp horror aus coming out about diseases turning you into like monsters/zombies/ect when there's literally a disease/plant in mlp that slowly turns you into a tree after you get sick. then that tree produces the same flowers that infect ponies. and nobody has used that yet (to my knowledge!)

Consider this: ghosts are actually exactly what the Fentons think they are.
They're snapshots of a longing so strong, unfinished business so deep it reaches out beyond life. Lingers just a bit longer. And if it happens to meet a dense cloud of ectoplasm (invisible to the naked eye, but omnipresent even in the mortal realm), it coalesces. The ectoplasm fits into the shape of it. Which, when the desire is strong enough, it's got a rough idea of its self-image. This tends to mean a more humanoid figure, though it's more often warped in some way–a self-reflection, skewed by said desire. The warping varies on the dead soul’s perception of themselves, the intensity of their desire, how much time passed after death, and how much ectoplasm was present.
In short… no matter how “normal" a ghost looks or acts, it really, truly isn't human. It's animated ectoplasm with a single goal: an obsession. Nothing else. They're more akin to plants than animals, following a single drive with no emotion. They react to stimuli, recognize threats (including other ghosts), and can even imitate human speech and mannerisms to obtain fulfillment of their obsession.
Not “evil" by any stretch, but they're entirely driven by instinct. A tree doesn't pause to consider the rocks it breaks with its roots. A cordyceps doesn't torture its host for fun, or kill with malice. It just does. It follows code in its DNA to survive and multiply–And ghosts just follow the code in its ectoplasm to fulfill its obsession. The more powerful a ghost, the better it's able to overcome obstacles preventing this–whether through brute force, or manipulation. This power is always directly proportional to the amount of ectoplasm present at the time of formation, and how much time passed since death.
What then, does this mean for Danny? Danny, who's previously come to the conclusion that he's only half-ghost, which surely explains how he retained his mind? His independent thoughts and emotions?
What does this mean for Phantom, who experienced an entire world’s worth of ectoplasm condensed as a singularity, at the exact time of his death? Whose strength only grows and begins to exceed every limit they previously thought possible?
If a ghost was as strong as him… could it mimic a human perfectly? Down to a molecular level?
Could it, in its desire to fill an obsession… trick its own fake mind into thinking it was still human? Or half-ghost?

I am hardcore devastated that somebody decided to cut down the sycamore tree at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall last night. I saw somebody say that this act “destroyed an elemental spirit of Northumbria” and I think that’s right. There aren’t words, really.
I took this photo in March earlier this year, on my way back from a trip to Vindolanda. It was snapped from the Military Road, which runs alongside Hadrian’s Wall to the south. I remember telling my travelling companion about the times I’d walked along Hadrian’s Wall and rested there, picnicked there, fell over Roman stones and twisted my ankle there.
It’s a very evocative spot; the Wall dips down steeply into the little break in the Whin Sill and then climbs even more steeply back out. The Wall is crumbled and you can imagine it might have been a point of consternation for the Roman builders tasked with constructing the Wall; how do you incorporate this strange little geological gap into your country-spanning fortification? How do you manage it? How can you use it? You stand there and the stories of a thousand people come to life around you.
The sycamore tree itself was only a few hundred years old, a fraction of the time people have been visiting and passing through the gap in the Sill. But it stood for almost as long as sycamores have grown in England. The tree stood out in that landscape because there are so few at that point on the wall. That patch of Northumbria is pretty barren, but a little sycamore seed found a patch of life and grew to become an icon. Marriages and families began there. Life began there. People were laid to rest there. It’s embedded in countless personal stories, millions of memories. And for Wall walkers and locals, it was a landmark: ‘I’ll see you at Sycamore Gap.’

Hey anyone else remember the episode of Adventure Time called "Evergreen" where it's revealed that the original bearer of the crown to whom it was "forever linked" was actually a neglected child (and prior reincarnation of Finn) named Gunter trying to be like his wizard father?? Anyone??? Because I had fully forgotten until re-watching the episode last night and I'm losing my mind about the implications.

(This episode is also a devastating look at how a mistreated child unconsciously learns that he must treat himself and those he has power over as cruelly as he has been treated. Adventure Time has so much sadness and madness, y'all.)

The Hanged Man (XII) is the twelfth Major Arcana card in most traditional tarot decks.
Upright, this card can symbolize surrender, sacrifice, and perspective. Reversed, it can symbolize stagnation, indecision, and impulsiveness.

Fallout should really get more into the micro mutations that the radiation has caused. Like both with already mutated creatures and non-obvious ones.
Psykers, Night-kin, tunnelers and multiple other variants of mutated things exist so why can’t humans with other slight mutations? We know that radiation and FEV have affected how things have evolved, so it’d be really easy to say that these tribes or factions can do this cause they are slightly mutated to better fit their environment.
Perhaps Mojave people that live in very high areas have just noticeably long limbs due to all the climbing. Perhaps those who live in dark areas have larger pupils and borderline night vision. Perhaps rando NPCs that just mention having webbed hands cause their families live around water.
Like I’m not saying a bunch of new mutants or factions but just like humans who are more obviously slightly mutated.
