Just started ep 4, some thoughts:
Yijin is having an interview talking about how only gravity is a constant.  (This kid’s ~monologues~ are gonna be gems throughout the show, I see). And it’s taken me this long (I’m slow!) to see why they chose to set this in the post-IMF era, despite that being a little too obvious.  If I’ve learned anything from the last 2 years, it’s that you can’t expect anything.  The world is nothing like what I thought it would be!  As a teacher I’ve thought often how this is a bit easier for many young people because they have fewer set expectations for how things will look tonight, tomorrow, next year.  But like Yijin says, the younger you are, the less imagination you have.  You can only  go on what you’ve been told to expect, and it’s brutal when nothing goes that way at all. No wonder Yijin wants to go back in time to an age where he wasn’t forced to constantly figure out how to balance enough just to stay standing! I’m seeing why this is a good show for young people experiencing Covid.
I’m trying not to bend over backwards to justify why their age gap is “ok.”  I think many people are giving the show too much credit.  Personally, this kind of age gap doesn’t really bother me.  For me, really comes down to, do we believe the intentions of the show? and are the actor’s age gaps about equal or less (or in this case, they’re both adults)? And I’m fine.
Though I trust the show won’t have them date any time soon (”high schoolers should date high schoolers”) I think the show so far has been a lot more romantic than people have given it credit for.  Part of how I know that is that if these roles were switched I would have a reeeeally hard time buying the soft-gazey genius-college-girl and stupid-high-school-boy-athlete dynamic.  Like a boy not calling the girl noona and trying to be her friend??? yuck, tbh. But in this case I appreciate it because her calling him oppa would be more yuck.  At least they are friends on paper.
It makes sense, too, at least why he’s hanging out with a bunch of high schoolers, lol.  It’s pretty clear that he’s not ready to handle the class upheaval amongst peers of his own age.  He knows that he’s only ever been the “rich boy” and that being a regular guy around regular people is just different.  He doesn’t know how to navigate socially.  So at least him spending time with them makes sense.
I’ll be glad once Hee-do is older so that KTR doesn’t have to guide all of  her acting choices by aging herself down to being a child.  It’s been enjoyable and funny for sure, but at a certain point she is a 30-year old and it’s just too much for me!! (some of the time it’s giving me this energy).

Uuuuh SasuNeji 2 or 11 👀
the people want sasuneji i will give them sasuneji but im not sure any of the people wanted it like this
they looked at each other from across the room bitchy goth boy to bitchy goth boy. with nothing else interesting going on at the party neji decided it was time. time to attempt the climb. the climb to the top of stupid bitchy goth boy mountain (sai’s coinage). the official list of all the boys in konoha broken down into categories the least likely to get with neji were those in the impenetrable unconquerable fortress of stupid bitchy goth boys. their hearts already set on the dumb hot jocks the natural order of things. neji had no time for rules or order confining him to stupid made up dating standards he was feeling reckless and like having a little fun so he locked eyes with the stupidest bitchiest goth(iest?) stupid bitchy goth boy. the holy grail of dudes not into neji firmly in the dumb hot jock seeker for life camp heart and brain and everything else tied to one crazy stupid orange idiot. but he can be curious too social conventions are meant to be broken lets not reinvent heterosexuality or anything here no need to make jock and goth the new genders of konohas dating pool. neji was going in.
he walked through the crowd of people to the very corner of the room where sasuke was standing. he looked aloof and out of it maybe he was just tired. the closer he got the more it seemed like sasuke really just could use a good nap or something obviously the drink in his hand wasn’t helping. neji got closer so close he could smell what was in the cup it was orange juice he was a man of taste.
“i see you like orange juice” neji opened with a winner no one could mention the sweet taste of orange juice and not have men falling all over them it was like an aphrodisiac. maybe thats what drew him to sasuke perhaps he was the one who fell for it all. the alluring hint of citrus the real reason for his shift in thoughts.
“yeah its fine” sasuke obviously didnt seem to care all that much that was unacceptable neji had to pull out the big guns he reached deep into his pocket and pulled out a choker. this would make him irresistible he knew that. he snapped the black choker into place and sasuke obviously noticed, he leaned down to whisper something in nejis ear.
"you are a fake goth" sasuke hissed into nejis ear a shiver ran down his spine he was found out his whole plan a wild failure he could never dismantle konohas goth/jock binary from the inside no he was an outside infiltrator he was a prep. a prep who wears chokers and has weird freaky eyes but deep down he yearned to listen to pop music and get good grades he WOULD wear a sweater vest. and thats what made him so alluring thats what interested sasuke the pure and crazy most forbidden of forbidden loves the goth and the prep a tale as old as 2003.
“actually i have no idea how old the goth subculture is” and neji was telling the truth he really knew absolutely nothing about goths
“i think it started in like 2003 or something” could sasuke be a fake goth also this was intoxicating the lies the betrayals this could be a great upheaval of konohas strict binary dating laws.
“are you not actually goth?”
“tch sometimes people can wear all black and be sad but also have good taste in music neji”
“i have no idea what you are implying you tricky bastard” this was a game of minds now and neji had no chance of backing down he knew he had an edge he knew sasuke cheated on his iq tests he knew where to hit him where it hurt.
“goths like bad music”
“oh how dare you!”
“i just said you weren’t goth”
“oh right you did indeed dont think ill forget this is a game of the minds now sasuke i know you keep your report card framed by your bed i know that to feel any joy in your life you need to read ‘was a delight to have in class’ before you sleep but i also know you penciled it in three years ago because though you are smart no one has ever called you a delight”
they locked eyes once more neji was slightly out of breath he realized this was all a bit rude he got sidetracked from the ultimate goal. how could he ever get with sasuke now if he was this mean to him god he hoped this paid off neji was out of options.
“wanna leave this party is extremely lame”
oh finally an opening it seemed he hadnt completely nuked their chances he had some hope!
“sure”
“ok”
they walked right out the door and straight to a 24 hour convenience store for a jug of orange juice and fresh cool air to clear their heads. this could be fun this could be the start of something great. or they could break up in 2 weeks when sasuke sends a cryptic :( text and blocks nejis number. who knows the possibilities are endless and the night is still young. the faint scent of orange juice will linger on nejis clothes and in his mind. when the bottle they just purchased is dumped directly on his head in some kind of absurd courting gesture. it is appreciated.
i have absolutely no idea why i wrote all of this but now you all get to read this sorry im going a little crazy this is advanced jokes now and its funny only to me

The Voyeurs (Graphic Novel)
Tumblr media
"The Voyeurs is the work of a mature writer, if not one of the most sincere voices of her literary generation. It's a fun, honest read that spans continents, relationships and life decisions. I loved it."—Chris Ware, Acme Novelty Library
"As she watches other people living life, and watches herself watching them, Bell's pen becomes a kind of laser, first illuminating the surface distractions of the world, then scorching them away to reveal a deeper reality that is almost too painful and too beautiful to bear."— Alison Bechdel, Fun Home
"A master of the exquisite detail, Bell provides a welcome peephole into our lives."—Françoise Mouly, The New Yorker
The Voyeurs, was named one of the best books of the year by Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and the Atlantic.
Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity
Tumblr media
In this brilliant, breathtaking book by Pulitzer Prize winner Katherine Boo, a bewildering age of global change and inequality is made human through the dramatic story of families striving toward a better life in Annawadi, a makeshift settlement in the shadow of luxury hotels near the Mumbai airport. As India starts to prosper, the residents of Annawadi are electric with hope. Abdul, an enterprising teenager, sees “a fortune beyond counting” in the recyclable garbage that richer people throw away. Meanwhile Asha, a woman of formidable ambition, has identified a shadier route to the middle class. With a little luck, her beautiful daughter, Annawadi’s “most-everything girl,” might become its first female college graduate.
Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me: A Graphic Memoir
Tumblr media
Cartoonist Ellen Forney explores the relationship between “crazy” and “creative” in this graphic memoir of her bipolar disorder, woven with stories of famous bipolar artists and writers.
Shortly before her thirtieth birthday, Forney was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Flagrantly manic and terrified that medications would cause her to lose creativity, she began a years-long struggle to find mental stability while retaining her passions and creativity.
Searching to make sense of the popular concept of the crazy artist, she finds inspiration from the lives and work of other artists and writers who suffered from mood disorders, including Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, William Styron, and Sylvia Plath. She also researches the clinical aspects of bipolar disorder, including the strengths and limitations of various treatments and medications, and what studies tell us about the conundrum of attempting to “cure” an otherwise brilliant mind.
Darkly funny and intensely personal, Forney’s memoir provides a visceral glimpse into the effects of a mood disorder on an artist’s work, as she shares her own story through bold black-and-white images and evocative prose.
The Woman in Cabin 10
Tumblr media
From New York Times bestselling author of the “twisty-mystery” (Vulture) novel In a Dark, Dark Wood, comes The Woman in Cabin 10, an equally suspenseful and haunting novel from Ruth Ware—this time, set at sea. In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, Lo’s stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for—and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo’s desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong…
1222
Tumblr media
Nominated for the Edgar Award for Best Novel, from Norway’s #1 bestselling female crime writer—a “beguiling” (The Washington Post) “good old-fashioned murder mystery” (The New York Times Book Review) set in an isolated hotel where guests stranded during a monumental snowstorm begin turning up dead. A train on its way to the northern reaches of Norway derails during a massive blizzard, 1,222 meters above sea level. The passengers head for a nearby hotel, centuries old and practically empty. With plenty of food and shelter from the storm, the evacuees think they are safe, until one of them turns up dead. With no sign of rescue and the storm raging, retired police inspector Hanne Wilhelmsen is asked to investigate. Paralyzed by a bullet lodged in her spine, Hanne has no desire to get involved. But when another body turns up, panic takes over. Complicating things is the presence of a mysterious guest, a passenger who traveled in a private rail car and now stays secluded on the top floor of the hotel. No one knows who the guest is, or why armed guards are needed. Hanne has her suspicions. Trapped in her wheelchair, trapped by the storm, and now trapped with a killer, Hanne knows she must act before the killer strikes again.

Isolated from her self and from the outside world, Donna was, in her words, a Nobody Nowhere. She swung violently between these two worlds, battling to join our world and, simultaneously, to keep it out. Abandoned from all connection to the self within her, she lived as a ghost with a body, a patchwork of the images which bombarded her. Intact but detached from the seemingly incomprehensible world around her, she lived in what she called 'a world under glass`.
After twenty-five years of being misunderstood, and unable to understand herself, Donna stumbled upon the word 'autism': a label, but one which held up a mirror and made sense of her life and struggles, and gave her a chance to finally forgive both herself and those around her.

LeBron James posted a perplexing meme to Instagram in the midst of disappointing stretch
Abbie Parr/Getty Images
The Cavaliers season has not started as planned, with LeBron James and company losing six of their last eight games.
James posted a popular meme to Instagram to express his frustration, and many believe it to be related to the departure of Kyrie Irving.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have not looked like the powerhouse team that has made three consecutive NBA Finals.
Losers of six of their last eight games including relative blowouts at the hands lesser teams like the Pelicans, Pacers, and Magic, it's clear that the Cavaliers aren't firing on all cylinders.
With so much upheaval in the offseason, including the departure of All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving and addition of Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade, some could chalk the tough start off to little more than a stumble off the block — there's still enough talent on this team to make a deep run in the playoffs, and that's just accounting for a single player.
But LeBron is clearly frustrated with the team's lackluster start, and took to Instagram to express his feelings in cryptic fashion, posting the popular "Arthur" meme with a caption that read simply, "Mood..."
Instagram Embed: http://ift.tt/2yDuodJ Width: 658px
The image of Arthur's fist became a popular meme for expressing suppressed anger last year, and it appears that James is employing the image to that effect as well.
As SB Nation's Kristian Winfield noted, NBA players around the league were quick to respond to the post, with Damian Lilliard commenting, "This is hella funny" and Cavaliers teammate Isaiah Thomas asking, "Need me to handle somebody cuz?"
C.J. McCollum, Eric Bledoe, and Jahlil Okafor were among other players that liked the post.
The timing of the post also drew the attention of NBA social media sleuths. While James' general frustration could stem from a lot of sources — the recent string of losses, uneven play from his teammates, or a looming week on the road to name a few — the post came in the midst of former teammate Irving having another great night.
Irving, who has led the Boston Celtics to an NBA-leading 9-2 record despite the loss of Gordon Hayward in the first game of the season, was in the middle of putting up 35 points against the Hawks to help the Celtics along to their ninth consecutive win. Chances are LeBron was watching, and could only make a fist in self-contained fury as his dear-departed point guard helped carry a rival team to victory.
LeBron will look to turn take his anger out on the court and start turning the Cavaliers season around when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night.
NOW WATCH: I ate exactly like Tom Brady for a week and it made me feel better

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A word that has made itself known to me for the last 6 weeks.... the word EXPRESSION is quite elaborately expressing itself in my life lately.
First it was a sore throat. For weeks. At first I thought it was, well, just a sore throat. Maybe too much gym? Too much drinking? Too much hanging around other sick people?
I tried everything. It would go away, temporarily, and then come back. I dont think I was sick sick, just this, sore throat.  I started to question it. And then my friend Krista and I pulled some healer angel guide cards and the one I got that day was suffering. It was a warning to be careful. But that whatever hurt, pain and suffering I might feel physically, could lead me to recluse in order to heal.
I told her about my sore throat and then said, maybe it was a Throat Chakra blockage. Only half kidding. And then I looked it up....
“ Throat Chakra Blockage
A blocked throat chakra can significantly impact your ability to communicate effectively for fear of ridicule and judgement. A throat chakra blockage can also manifest as the inability to express and realize your truth in the world. When the fifth chakra is open and balanced, you are able to express yourself clearly and honestly in any situation with confidence. Common Signs of Throat Chakra Blockage: You may find yourself unable to speak your truth when you need it the most, or holding back on expressing your needs and desires. Perhaps, you long for realizing your dreams and living with a strong and clear purpose, but seem to not be able to quite get there. These are common signs that your throat chakra  does not function at its optimal level.
When the throat chakra is blocked or otherwise imbalanced, energy flow is hindered and can lead to physical symptoms affecting the head, mouth, throat, and neck. It is not uncommon to experience neck pain, headaches, hoarseness, and sore throat when the flow of energy through the throat chakra is disrupted.
Some common physical symptoms of blockage include:
chronic sore throat
frequent headaches
dental issues
mouth ulcers
hoarseness
thyroid problems
laryngitis
Temporomandibular disorders of the jaw (commonly known as TMJ)
neck pain
Consequently, the blockage can also impact your physical health. When you experience such signs of physical discomfort, healing practices focusing on the upper body area, in particular your neck and shoulders, can bring relief and allow energy to move more freely. Of course, for serious and recurring symptoms, please consult a physician whom you trust.
Emotional Signs of Throat Chakra Blockage
When the throat chakra is imbalanced, the blockage can also manifest through non-physical symptoms that may impact you at various levels from psychological and emotional, to psychically and spiritually.
Non-physical signs of blockage can be more prevalent. Among the more commons signs are:
fear of speaking
inability to express thoughts
shyness
inconsistency in speech and actions
social anxiety
inhibited creativity
stubbornness
detachment
For instance, perpetuated blockages that are fairly significant can cause one to become arrogant, deceptive, domineering, or manipulative. On the contrary, energy that flows freely through the throat chakra promotes effective, truthful communication. You are able to “find you.” You are confident, responsible, and can easily find the right words to express your thoughts.
A blockage of the throat chakra can cause you to become stoic, quiet, and fearful. The imbalance may also create feelings of anxiety, insecurity, and shyness when it comes to self-expression and speaking to others. Public speaking can cause near paralysis when the issue is a blocked fifth chakra.
An imbalance in the throat chakra can adversely affect many aspects of your personal and professional life. You may find you avoid social situations and are more comfortable alone. You may even become distrustful of your inner voice.
What To Do About A Blocked Throat Chakra
Clearing the throat chakra involves learning to let go and trusting your inner voice. Not a small task for a lot of us! Check out the general guidelines for throat chakra healing for practical ideas on how to restore balance in this center.
A few basic steps to clear this chakras include:
Working through and releasing all negative emotions, including guilt, hurt, and resentment can work wonders to restore energy balance in the throat chakra. Sometimes a good cry can also help alleviate a blockage of the fifth chakra.
Practicing mindful speech, action, and deeds can help you maintain throat chakra balance. For example, talk openly and honestly with others on a regular basis.
Meditating on and incorporating the throat chakra’s color, blue, into your life can also calm emotional upheaval. For instance, introduce blue-colored flowers or decor to your home environment.
http://www.chakras.info/throat-chakra-blockage/
All of this was totally relational to me. I felt right at home in that damn webpage. I had the AH HA! moment even. But then the question was, how the HELL DO I MAKE IT ALL STOP! How do I FIX THIS?
Krista’s gave me some crystals that seemed to help....
But there was more, there still IS more. SO much more.
My first day in Sydney I found myself drawn into the ONE stone/crystal/psychic tarot card reader shop in all of the WestField Mall. And if you know anything about Westfield malls.... in Sydney, then you know what I mean. Not long into mosey-ing around the store I felt myself drawn to aquamarine - I mean, I knew it was my birthstone, but I read the card and felt like it was the one. So I grabbed three raw stones all of beautiful symmetric shapes. Mosey-ed around a little more and came up to the counter. Teagon - the young woman working - grabbed this smooth, round stone that had a hole carved into it. Beautiful light blue with darker blue waves, like the ocean. She said - Here, hold this up to your throat for a moment. - So I did. I felt a rush of emotion move through me. But it started in the lump of my throat that burst into tears after asking her why she felt I needed that stone there. Her reply - I felt some type of blockage there, something about your expression....  Blue lace agate, this stone, is very good for clearing that. ---
And that was it, just like a tidal wave, I burst into tears. She just hugged me. I think she does that kind of thing on the daily. She doesnt need to know if she is right or wrong. Shes just there, dressed in all white, like a perfect messenger angel.
Left that mall with all I needed.
Later I decided to look up the deeper meanings of aquamarine. Low and behold - the ultimate throat chakra healing stone. Who would have thought! I guess im pretty in tune with what I need too. ;-) But.. was this giong to fix all my “expression/throat chakra blockage/public speaking/need to be heard problems”?
Since then, the term expression for me has come up several more times.
Ill have to add in all the details later. But fast forward to tonight.
Here I am, in Bali, and a friend I have been feeling the need to connect with, walks right into the same restaurant where I am eating. Just like that. Granted I knew he was in Bali, but I did NOT tell him where I was eating. We get to talking, and through everything said, the final answer is that our purpose in life is to express ourselves. That is the GOD CREATION and CREATOR. He said he realized this through his own struggle with expression. And then I realized later tonight, after I got home, that it wasn’t about the answer, or the fact that he had been there. It was exactly what he said when he first sat down... That he was there for me. He was meant to be there for me.
So what - What with all of this. Well, funny thing is. I still dont know. I am not quite sure where I belong, where I fit in, if i fit in at all or if im even meant to, but right now, thats ok and I dont need a clear answer. I think the path has made itself know and its all about EXPRESSION.
And so.... Here I go....
