Summer Essential: Tamagotchi Original Waterproof Case

Did you know this existed? Dimeychi on Instagram posted two photos that caught our eye and we just had to share. How many times have you been out at the beach or at the pool? Well Dimeychi was able to get a waterproof hard plastic case for their Tamagotchi Original on Japan Auctions years ago and has been using the case since. The case even has orange a silicone cover for the buttons that allow you to use them. Did anyone say Tamagotchi pool party?

Bandai Italy Continues to Market Tamagotchi Original as Fashion Accessory

Now thats fashion! Bandai Italy is definitely taking a different approach to marketing the Tamagotchi Original that is clearly taking over the globe. They’re not banking on nostalgia, instead, they’re counting on making it a fashion accessory with j the right amount of nostalgia. We saw them advertise the Tamagotchi Original before as a fashion accessory, and it must be working. In their latest Instagram post you will see that the Mermaid Tamagotchi Original shell is being featured on the wrist of a model in a sequence dress holding her blue heels.

The caption reads that the password for Christmas this year is sparkle! Not going to lie, we love it. Hopefully between the Max&Co. advertisements and Bandai’s advertisements, Tamagotchi could make quite a splash in Europe, including Italy.

Amazon UK Lists Three New Tamagotchi Original Shells

Looks like we’re getting even more shells for winter 2023, or perhaps they are meant for spring 2023. Amazon UK has just listed three brand new Tamagotchi Original shells, and per usual, we love them all. The three shells are Tama Universe, Memphis Style, and Garden Poppies.

First, the Tama Universe shell is out of this world (pun intended). The shell is a beautiful dark purple with planets, rockets, and stars surrounding the screen as well as Mimitchi and Pochitchi in their astronaut outfits. The screen is outlined by a blue color, and the buttons and Tamagotchi logo are white. Tama Universe features P2 programming.

Second, we have Memphis Style, which is an art deco-inspired design style. This shell is all about the bright colors in an abstract pattern. The base of the shell is white and features pink, yellow, and teal colors. The screen is outlined with a dark teal color, and black Tamagotchi logo and buttons. Memphis Style features P1 programming.

Lastly, we have Garden Poppies, which is very much appropriate for spring! Designed after the poppy flowers, the base color of the shell is a pastel blue with poppy flowers, and other flowers surrounding the screen. The screen it outlined in a yellow color, and the buttons are white, the Tamagotchi logo is pink. Garden Poppies features P2 programming.

These three new shells have yet to be announced by Bandai officially, and it’s not uncommon to see them floating around Amazon prior to an announcement. WIth the success of the Tamagotchi Original reboot, we will probably see many more shells in the future! These three shells are listed on Amazon UK for £16.99 with a release date of January 25th, 2023!

Rare White Tamagotchi Original Featured in Nippon TV’s Brush Up Life

If you’ve been watching the latest comedy on Nippon TV, then you probably caught the Tamagotchi cameo on episode two! Brush Up Life is a television comedy focusing on Kondo Asami, a 33-year-old single woman who lives with her parents and works at the local city hall, and suddenly finds herself starting her life over from scratch. It happens out of a sudden and Asami finds herself on a bed in an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, where she meets her young parents and begins her life all over again.

Tamagotchi appears in episode two, in Asami's elementary school scene along with tile stickers, a Gameboy Advance, an iPod mini, and other nostalgic goodies from the 1990’s. The Tamagotchi featured is the rare white Tamagotchi Original P1. As you can see from the image above, Asami has successfully raised Mametchi.

Asami’s sticker book even includes Tamagotchi Original stickers! You can several from the Tamagotchi Angel.

You can catch Brush Up Life weekly on Sunday nights at 10:30PM on Nippon Television in Japan.

They’re here! Bandai Namco US has officially announced the three latest Tamagotchi Original shells to joint he lineup! We saw these back in December listed on Amazon UK, so we knew it was only a matter of time. With a release date of March 12th, 2023 these should be our spring shells! We detailed the design once they were listed by Amazon UK, and they look even better in the finalized product pictures. As per usual, an MSRP of $19.99 USD. Which one has captured your eye?

Amazon Lists Tamagotchi Original Celebration - Neon & Pop Amazon Exclusive Shell!

Today marks the 26th anniversary of Tamagotchi worldwide, and Bandai Namco US is just starting to kickoff the festivities! It looks like they will be making an announcement later today, which will probably be this celebratory shell that was just recently listed by Amazon.

The Tamagotchi Original Celebration - Neon & Pop shell is a beautiful clear shell that features pops of pink, yellow, blue, and green colors. A neon yellow/green color featured around the screen and buttons too. The back also features a splash of color and Mametchi! We love that the back is fully incorporated into the design. What’s also unique about this shell is that the keychain features two charms, both in neon yellow/green.

The first charm is the new Tamagotchi logo, and the second charm is a miniature Tamagotchi Original with the verbiage “Since 1996” on it! How cute is that? Packaging also is a bit different as it features a different color palette including an iridescent material at the top. You’ll also see that the cutout for the Tamagotchi Original accommodates the not only the Tamagotchi Original, but the charms too!

No word on release date or pricing, but we’re sure Bandai Namco US will make the announcement shortly. Who else is excited about his celebratory shell?

Look like Bandai Japan is going all in on the Tamagotchi Original! New to the official Bandai Amazon store is the Tamagotchi Original page! You can see the branding is on theme with the Tamagotchi Original that was just recently re-launched in Japan.

This includes all 16 original shells, and the 2 additional shells that were just released! If you’re not able to find these Tamagotchi Original shells in your local toy shop in Japan, then Amazon is a great choice, but we must warn you it does look like most are currently out of stock!

Bandai Spain Brings Convention Exclusive Tamagotchi Originals to 2022 Manga Barcelona

San Diego -> New York -> Barcelona. The convention exclusive Tamagotchi Original’s are on quite the journey! Bandai Spain was present at this years Manga Barcelona, a Spanish anime and manga convention held annually in Barcelona. The event ran from December 8th through the 11th 2022, Bandai Namco had their own booth, and they did not disappoint with their offerings.

Karugotchi on Instagram was attending the event and found the Bandai Namco booth. Bandai Spain was present with several Tamagotchi’s available for purchase, including Star Wars R2-D2 Tamagotchi, Tamagotchi Original, Tamagotchi Pix Party, and of course the beautiful convention exclusive Tamagotchi Originals! Interestingly enough Bandai Spain kept the New York Comic-Con 2022 card inside the display.

Bandai Italy Brings High Fashion Tamagotchi Marketing

Italy is the land of some the best designer brands, and it looks like that influence is making its way to the marketing work for the Tamagotchi Original. Bandai Italy recently made a post to their Instagram profile that shows just how chic they are!

The pos asks followers if they are ready to mix and match their Tamagotchi with their outfit, claiming it will make an unmistakable touch to your outfit. How chic is this campaign? We really hope there is more, definitely a different marketing technique being used in Italy!
