TMF Headcanons!

(Because they’re a precious little found family and I love that for them.)

🩵Hailey spends several hours scrolling through Pinterest.

💜Zander has a massive black cat plushie hidden away in his room.

🧡Luke has about 200 hours in Animal Crossing, and is emotionally attached to all his villagers.

🩷Milly shops at Hot Topic.

💙Sean tends to keep his headphones on during class, and only catches about half of what the teacher says.

🩵Hailey had a horse girl phase, while Zander’s always been terrified of horses.

💜Zander braided Hailey’s hair a lot when they were younger.

🧡Luke has an entire photo album full of pipctures he took of Zander.

🩷Milly had a dragon phase.

💙Sean’s considered the father of the group, as well as the group therapist.

🩵Hailey and Milly paint each other’s nails.

💜Zander has a habit of stealing the bathroom for hours on end just to make sure he looks his best. He’s very particular about his appearance, especially about his hair.

🧡Luke’s hair is usually pretty messy, but it’s always in an aesthetic way. None of the other club members know how he does it.

🩷Milly refuses to wear skirts.

💙Sean has a terrible sleep schedule due to balancing work, school, and club activities. His parents constantly arguing doesn’t help much either, which leads to him passing out sometimes during club meetings. Usually, the group tends to let him rest.

🩵Hailey loves blueberry lemonade.

💜Zander drinks grape juice out of wine glasses to feel sophisticated.

🧡Luke has a stash of grape juice at his house specifically for Zander.

🩷Milly’s really good at Hip-Hop styled dance. She’s tried to get Sean to do TikTok dances with her, and it usually never works out too well, considering Sean has two left feet.

💙Sean really good at both cooking and cleaning. (He’d make an amazing housewife.)

🩵Hailey’s a Swiftie, and has learned many of her songs on guitar.

💜Zander steals Luke’s clothes all the time, and Luke loves seeing Zander wear them.

🧡Luke and Zander have matching bracelets they made together.

🩷Milly listens to death metal.

💙Sean often takes walks late at night, putting his headphones on full volume and allowing himself to daydream.

🩵Hailey hasn’t seen nor read Heartstopper, yet knows several quotes from the series purely from how much Zander says them.

💜When Heartstopper came out on Netflix, Zander and Luke watched it together, and they both cried.

🧡Luke will listen to Zander ramble on and on about his interests, because he likes listening to Zander’s voice, and he likes learning about Zander’s interests so they have something to talk about.

🩷Milly’s love language is giving surprise hugs.

💙Sean’s love language is sharing his music playlists, and creating playlists for others.

🩵Hailey and Zander both drink tea a lot. Hailey tends to put sugar and cream in hers, whereas Zander drinks his without.

💜Zander can walk better in heels than Hailey can.

🧡Every year for the holidays, the Music Club plays Secret Santa. Luke was the one who started the tradition.

🩷Milly has no problem picking up bugs, and as a result, she’s usually the one to deal with them whenever they get inside the club room. (Zander’s also terrified of bugs, and Milly has chased him around while holding one multiple times.)

💙Sean gives the best hugs.

🩵Hailey and Zander host sleepovers a lot.

💜Zander has RBF.

🧡Luke tends to suppress his own feelings in favor of focusing on Zander’s.

🩷Milly’s always getting herself into dangerous situations on accident, and there have been numerous times Sean’s carried her under his arm after she tries doing something stupid.

💙Despite being the group’s therapist, Sean doesn’t like talking about his own problems in fear he’d be seen as a burden. He’s opened up to Milly a bit, but not much.

To me, first impressions matter.

I remember listening to Love Story for the first time. It was a Saturday morning at around 8 AM, many, many years ago, and I was in my pajamas, watching TMF with my sister (TMF doesn’t exist anymore but it was basically like a Dutch version of MTV), and I remember absolutely loving it. The very same day, I ordered “Fearless” online and that was the first thing I ever bought with my pocket money.

I remember getting Speak Now for my birthday. I remember singing “Mean” for my sister when she came home crying from school, and I remember how gutted I was when I couldn’t attend the Speak Now concert in the Netherlands because I didn’t have anyone who could go with me and I was too young to go by myself. Last Kiss is still the most played song on my laptop.

I remember downloading RED onto my iPod quickly while packing my bags to go on a holiday with my family in the fall of 2012. I was talking to my first real crush at that time, we texted every night, and it was magical. When he got a girlfriend and I fell apart, it were the songs on RED that put me back together.

I remember barely sleeping the night before 1989 came out. I listened to the entire album by myself in the dark of the morning in my bedroom, and when I finally got out of bed, I was a different person. 1989 is special to me because it’s the only album you released while I was in my first and only relationship, which lasted for almost three years, and ended a little over a month ago. Every song reminds me of him.

I remember turning on my wifi in a little cafe in a town near Yellowstone Park last summer, after not having had any wifi or connection to the outside world for three days, and finding out about Reputation. I remember walking to the exit of the camping I stayed at near Mount Rushmore that night (EXPOSING MYSELF TO BEARS! lol), anxiously waving my phone in the air to try to get enough phone service to download Look What You Made Me Do.

Every single one of your songs mean the world to me. Every single album is a masterpiece. Every single thing you’ve done is connected to so many memories for me.

I want to give Reputation the chance to make a good first impression. And because of that, I REALLY don’t want to see everyone spoiling it on here and on twitter. I want to listen to it myself and make up my mind, first.

I love you so much.

Argyll, the West Coast and the Islands are spoilt for choice when it comes to Festivals - so we’ve made it easy for you to plan, by compiling a list of 20 cracking events to head along to over the Summer.

21-23 APRIL – MULL MUSIC FESTIVAL – TOBERMORY

The first festival of the season, Mull Music Festival is hosted across various venues within the town of Tobermory. An ever impressive line-up of Scottish traditional ceilidh & folk music has been announced for 2017, headed up by the likes of Tide Lines, Hó-Ró & Beinn Lee Ceilidh Band who all perform at Macgochans. Best of all, MMF is FREE ENTRY, so festival-goers are urged to turn up early.

5-7 MAY – GIG IN THE GOIL – LOCHGOILHEAD

Returning for its second year, Argyll Holidays’ very own family-friendly event is hosted across three venues and welcomes Skerryvore, Tide Lines & Trail West to Lochgoilhead as Main Stage headliners, with Be Charlotte, Schnarff Schnarff & 100 Fables among the acts performing in the intimate Castle Lounge. But it's not just about drams - the diverse programme takes place right across the stunning island, and includes traditional music, ceilidhs, Gaelic lessons, golf, bowling and of course whisky tasting. Each distillery has its own open day during the Feis, and the local bars all host live music. Tide Lines, Heron Valley & Gentlemen of Few are among the bands confirmed so far.

2-3 JUNE – OBAN LIVE – OBAN

Two years ago, multi-award winning trad rock act Skerryvore commemorated a decade together with a special outdoor concert at Mossfield Park Stadium in Oban. The success of this paved the way for an exciting new event “Oban Live” which was officially launched for 2016 and featured high profile acts from across the UK. It returns for 2017 with Toploader, Hue & Cry, Admiral Fallow, Skipinnish & Mánran among the artists joining Skerryvore for the main event.

2-4 JUNE – FYNEFEST – LOCH FYNE

Situated at Fyne Ales brewery on the shores of Loch Fyne, FyneFest has established itself as one of Scotland’s ‘must attend’ beer, food & music festivals. With over 150 different real ales and craft beers from across the country and Europe, plus a generous selection of local food produce, you’ll be sorted for the weekend. Live music comes from 9-piece ska-rockers Bombskare and local blues band Dr Hip & the Blues Operation, with more to be confirmed. The event sells-out year-on-year, so it’s advised to purchase tickets early.

30 JUNE – 1 JULY – ARRAN MALT & MUSIC FESTIVAL – LOCHRANZA

Over the first weekend in July, Isle of Arran Distillers celebrate their 22nd Anniversary in style with a Festival showcasing all that the wonderful island has to offer, along with the essentials - Malt Whisky & Live Music. As well as a host of local musicians, trad favourites Skipinnish headline the Saturday night ceilidh.

30 JUNE – 1 JULY – IONA VILLAGE HALL MUSIC FESTIVAL – IONA

One of the most intimate music festivals in the Hebrides - IVHMF takes place in the local Village Hall, with a sell-out capacity of just 240. It's the unique chance to enjoy the beauty and hospitality Iona is famous for, whilst revelling in fantastic live music. You may be forgiven for thinking that such a small venue wouldn't be able to secure high profile artists, but with C Duncan, Errors & Idlewild among the 2016 acts, it's no small affair. We're excited to see what this year has to offer!

Weekend Price: Adult tickets from £65, but the 2017 Festival is now SOLD OUT.

30 JUNE – 1 JULY – THE ISLE OF GIGHA MUSIC FESTIVAL – GIGHA

The Isle of Gigha Festival takes place over the last weekend in June, and plays host to some brilliant entertainment in the intimate Village Hall - which holds just 150 festival-goers. There's a festival supper, workshops, open mic sessions, concerts, a ceilidh, and even a pipers picnic over the course of the three days. The festival also holds the world record 65 minutes for a non-stop Orcadian Strip the Willow - so get those dancing shoes on!

14-16 JULY – TIREE MUSIC FESTIVAL – CROSSAPOOL

The award winning Tiree Music Festival is held in one of the most scenic locations in the world. Dubbed the “Hawaii of the North”, the gorgeous Hebridean Island of Tiree is the perfect setting for a family-friendly weekend of live music and fun – you can even take a stroll on the golden beach between acts! With this year’s lineup featuring Scouting for Girls & Dougie Maclean among the Tiree contingent, it’s set to be special. After a rainy last couple of years (which didn’t dampen party spirits) the official tagline for this year is “Let there be sun”, and we think maybe, just maybe… the sun will shine on TMF come July.

19-22 JULY – HEBRIDEAN CELTIC FESTIVAL – STORNOWAY

HebCelt is another multi-award winning festival, and returns for its 22nd year. Set against one of the most atmospheric backdrops of Stornoway and the Isle of Lewis, the event encompasses Celtic culture & heritage, whilst offering a remarkable live music line-up, with artists from across the globe making their way to the Outer Hebrides. The Waterboys, Dougie MacLean & Imelda May are some of the acts already announced to perform this year, with more to follow.

28-29 JULY – EILEAN DORCHA – BENBECULA

One of the youngest festivals on the scene, EDF started last year as a concept to bring together locals, and to showcase the destination of Benbecula. They pride themselves on being family-friendly, having a fantastic community atmosphere, and received such incredible feedback from 2016 that they’ve decided to double in size. As well as the best Scottish traditional music (Niteworks, Mánran, Tide Lines, Trail West & Elephant Sessions) and tribute acts (The Dolly Show, Abba A Rival), EDF also offers a platform for local artists to showcase their talent, plus local craft products.

28-30 JULY – BUTEFEST – ROTHESAY

Bute's family-friendly weekend festival returns for its 3rd year, and is packed with live music, food, craft beers, entertainment & fun. Just a 15 minute walk from Rothesay Ferry Terminal, the event is one of the most easily accessible island festivals and welcomes tourists & locals alike. An impressive line-up is set to follow with The Wedding Present, Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5 and Mánran leading the way in the announcements.

16-20 AUGUST – MULL OF KINTYRE MUSIC FESTIVAL – CAMPBELTOWN

One of the oldest and most established festivals in the West, Mull of Kintyre Music Festival - or MOKFest as it's more commonly known - will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2017. The festival showcases the best in traditional and contemporary music from across the globe through a series of concerts and events - this year's line-up is still to be announced but with previous headliners including The Fratellis, The Saw Doctors, Deacon Blue & Idlewild we know it's going to be special.

24-26 AUGUST – COWAL HIGHLAND GATHERING – DUNOON

The famous Cowal Highland Gathering is held in Dunoon on an annual basis, and sees over 23,000 visitors flock to the town for the largest, most spectacular highland games in the world. Not only will you find world-class pipe bands, dancers & athletes competing for gold, but you can enjoy live music in the ceilidh tent and take part in a host of family games & attractions. 'Gig at the Gathering' returns for the third year running with Tide Lines, Heron Valley & Trongate Rum Riots taking to the stage on the Friday night.

1-3 SEPTEMBER – MILLPORT COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL – ISLE OF CUMBRAE -

Previously known as the Millport Country & Western Weekend, Millport Country Music Festival has gone from strength to strength during its 22 year existence, and this year sees the addition of a 3000 capacity marquee to meet rising demand. As well as a grand parade, line-dancing, funfair and... wait for it - hot dog eating competitions - the event welcomes international stars including Mark Chesnutt, David Ray & The Shires.

8-10 SEPTEMBER – BEST OF THE WEST FESTIVAL – INVERARAY

Set within the grounds of Inveraray Castle, 'BOWFest' is a weekend-long celebration of the best food, drink & live music that Argyll has to offer. Food from Argyll are onsite with local produce to eat, sample and take home, whilst a selection of West Coast Malt Whiskies & Fyne Ales will be available at the bar. The two stages host some of the most talented musicians in the West Coast, with Skipinnish, Eddi Reader & Skerryvore just announced as the headliners. There's also a craft tent, with fine items created & inspired by the West Coast, and a huge range of children’s activities including climbing walls and assault courses.

14-17 SEPTEMBER – CÉOL CHOLASA – SCALASAIG

Céol Cholasa takes place on the Inner Hebridean island of Colonsay, with a 4 day extravaganza of the finest in traditional music from the UK & beyond. The island may be one of the smallest on the festival circuit (population is just 120), but that doesn't stop them attracting internationally acclaimed musicians, with Karine Polwart Trio, Kathleen Macinnes & Elephant Sessions all appearing this year. There's a series of events & workshops over the festival period, culminating in the hugely popular Saturday night ceilidh.

14-17 SEPTEMBER – TARBERT MUSIC FESTIVAL – TARBERT (LOCH FYNE)

Tarbert Music Festival has been running since the late 1980's, and offers something to look forward to as the Autumn evenings approach. There's a full programme of live music throughout the weekend, with a variety of bands playing in the local bars, before an open-air concert takes place overlooking Loch Fyne on the Sunday afternoon - this features the fantastic young talents of Heron Valley & Ho-Ro, and there's a selection of food & drink available.

22-23 SEPTEMBER – SKYE LIVE – PORTREE

Skye Live returns for its third year in its new calendar slot at the end of September. The festival was founded with the aim of bringing top class music to the magical island, and they've certainly done just that. The 2017 line-up is still to be announced, but going by previous years we can expect an eclectic line-up of DJ's, traditional music and alternative sounds as well as a dedicated cocktail bar - a cold mojito and some live music in the sun*, what could be better? *we can’t guarantee the sun

Weekend Price: 2016 tickets were £95, so expect a similar price for 2017. Over 16s only.

22-24 SEPTEMBER – JURA MUSIC FESTIVAL – CRAIGHOUSE

Now in its 24th year, The Isle of Jura Musical Festival is a well-established favourite which has cemented its place at the end of the annual festival calendar. The community-run initiative hosts a weekend packed with live performances, workshops, sessions & craic, bringing some of the biggest names in the traditional scene to an island where there are 30 times more deer than people. The main event is the Sunday night concert in the co-operage, where we're expecting an announcement soon, after Skipinnish’ energetic finalé last year.
