Do it for the Plot
~
I like the idea of Tim and Danny meeting and just clocking each other as little shits TM.
Just causing chaos to everyone in a way that can't really be traced back to them like 'Who? Me? I was busy doing all of these other things I have no idea how I would do that?'
Danny helps Tim get revenge on the bats for all the shit he's had to put up with and being absolute trolls about the whole thing *chefs kiss*
~
Tim&Danny dragging Ra's body
Damian: "Wha-?"
T&D: "No one will ever believe you"
Danny makes them go invisible
~
Bats: "Where ya going Tim?"
Tim holding back a cackle:" Oh, it's my anniversary so it's date night!"
Bats: "Anniversary?! We didn't know you were getting serious with someone?"
Tim: "Serious? He's my husband of course I'm serious about him"
Bats: "Wait hold on-!"
Tim: "Gotta go! Can't be late I have to make sure the babysitter has everything they'll need."
Bats: "BABYSITTER!?"
Tim: "Bye bye~!"
(They planned all of it including their 'fake marriage', Danny went back in time with the help of CW who is a troll at heart, and made the legal changes including Dan and Dani as their kids (their de-aged) otherwise someone (Oracle) would have eventually realized that the license is fake. So they went back in time and made it legitimately real)
~
Danny being Ghost King means that Tim is now also royalty
Tim walking up to John Constantine:" I have your entire soul"
and then just turning around and leaving
John very much felt the very strong Death Energy claiming Tim: "I don't want to be sober right now"
~
Earth about to be taken over for the 5th time that year by higher beings
Tim walking up late with coffee in his hand: "Leave or I'll call my husband"
Higher Beings very much not wanting to mess with the High King of the Infinite Realms: ᕕ( ᐕ )ᕗ

Post time stream rescue Tim’s not doing too swell. He’s moved out of the manor, drifted away from his family, is over worked, and in his spiral has convinced himself that no one would care if he disappeared.
Logically he knows this isn’t true. He loved his family and he knows how his family shows him love, but it’s Tim. That little voice is always there in the back of his head. “If i disappeared would they care because suddenly I’m not here to do all the work or because I’m their brother and I’m missing.”
He had zero intention of figuring this out. In fact when that voice got too loud he’d pack up his bag and go spend the weekend at the manor, or longer if need be until that little voice quieted down.
Unfortunately for Tim, during one of his worst low self esteem spirals, he got taken for surprise, knocked over the head, and thrown off a building.
Lady Gotham, refusing to see one of her knights fall, used all her stored up strength to summon a “natural” portal to the infinite realms.
When Tim wakes up, he’s in a bed, in a castle, and the sky outside the window is green. Also he doesn’t have any memories. He knows his name and his age. He’s still stupidly clever, but when a guy in a black and white jump suit literally floats through the door and asks him about himself he can’t say much else.
Which is a problem.
Danny had been minding his business, going about his ghost king duties when some of his knights rushed in carrying a very much alive teenager. Which no problem, this happens all the time. Living people slip into the realms all the time. Usually they can get some basic information about the person and the world they live in and get them back to the right dimension but context clues are needed.
The ghost writer needs context clues to be able to begin a process of elimination for which dimension you originate from.
How long ago was you last ice age? What’s the current year? Who won world War II? Did you *have* a WWII? Do heroes exist in your universe? Do people with special powers exist? Are your polar ice caps still frozen? How far has space travel advanced?
With each answer they can begin crossing out possible dimensions until they reach the right one “usually.”
The issue is that Tim doesn’t have memories, which became very obvious when Danny started asking him questions. He just wanted to know what happened to land Tim into the infinite realms but he couldn’t remember and unfortunately there’s no readily available dimensional ID people carry around because dimensional travel is…not very common.
So Danny is stuck. He also can’t leave Tim exposed in the zone for too long else he starts transitioning to a more liminal existence, but he can’t return Tim to his dimension because they don’t know what dimension he’s from. Obviously Tim is a hero based on the garb he’s wearing, which is something to start with, but narrowing down dimensions with heroes still leaves them with…too many options. And there’s always the chance that this kid is just a really dedicated cosplayer for their favorite comic book so really how sure can they be?
Danny sorta hopes some memories will start to come back and Takes Tim home with him to his dimension.
Some ground facts. Danny’s parents know he’s phantom and accept this. As soon as Danny told them they did a 180 and basically de ghost proofed the house so Danny would be safe. Also, as the ghost king, Danny was able to tell the ghosts to finally leave him the fuck alone. They have a rotating schedule for social fights now so Danny can actually finish school with decent grades.
So when Danny steps through the portal into his parents Lab with Tim in tow, they start rolling with it. Tim is set up in their guest room, Jazz is coming back home this next weekend with a few idea’s on how to help Tim get his memories back, and Sam and Tucker have been filled in on what’s going on.
For the most part they go about life as if nothings changed. They tell the school that Tim’s a cousin visiting from out of state for health related reasons. They don’t enroll him in school, but Tim is allowed to hang out in the school’s library while Danny has classes (it’s a small town, the rules are lax).
Tucker is the one who picks up that Tim’s a tech genius. He was working on an app or new program and Tim was looking over his shoulder while he worked. “Their’s an easier way to program this.” Tim said absently. Tucker shrugged, slid his laptop over to Tim and watched this kids fingers fly over the keyboard. “Dude how do you know how to do this?” Tucker asked him, debating whether or not to beg this man to teach him his tricks or bow down and worship his almighty skills because what he’d just done was masterful. “I was the teams’s hacker. Meta’s are all good and fine when doing infiltration, but if we needed stealth I was usually called in.”
Tucker immediately went to write that down. New information. Tim’s dimension has Meta’s. Tucker assumed it was just another word for people with super powered abilities. They passed it on to ghost writer who informed them there were still way too many dimensions.
The next breakthrough happened when Danny was training with his mom. Maddie had taught both her kids how to protect themselves as she was well versed in many types of martial combat. They were having practice spars in the back yard with Tim sitting on the back steps watching. Maddie was the one who caught it. There was something about the way Tim was watching them spar that made her believe he was well versed. So he invited him onto the mat and they went ham.
Tim was laughing and somewhere along the lines he mentioned how he hadn’t had this much fun sparing since his young Justice days. Gently, Maddie pried while they continued their dance and they learned that Tim had been a hero named Robin and had been on a team with 3 other sidekicks named Superboy, Impulse, and Wonder Girl.
This narrowed down the list considerably to the point where Danny could take a weekend to send out members of the royal army to peak into each dimension and see if they could find someone with Tim’s name and Face who was missing.
They did learn Tim’s last name was Drake and in all the dimensions they visited he was either present and accounted for or already dead. Still Danny knew they were moving in the right direction. By this point Tim had been living at Fenton works for 2 months. He somehow seemed healthier than when he first arrived, and Danny loved having him around. Tim was awesome, and because of that he knew somewhere someone was desperately trying to find him so he’d get Tim home one way or another.
It was during this search that Danny felt a familiar tug on his core. Someone was summoning him. He could usually peak his head through invisibly and catch a glimpse of who was summoning him. He typically ignored cults, and if he had the energy he would show up at the random sleepover or two. Sometimes hero’s would summon him and typically he’d send someone in his place cause they were usually looking for help and most of the royal knights were trained by fright knight and could handle any issues the hero’s needed.
Because Danny was already looking into hero dimensions, and the people summoning him were clearly hero’s he accepted the summons and popped into the circle in all he kingly regalia.
“Hello!” He greets to the 13 or so people in the room and oh look at that! Are they in space? Danny’s pretty sure he’s physically vibrating right now keeping himself in this circle. He loves maping the stars in different dimension. Loves seeing how they differ from his own. “You’ve reached the King of the Infinte realms. How can I help you.”
Danny focused on an older guy in a trench coat who was radiating the same magic as the circle. He would be leading this conversation if he’d informed the group correctly. If anyone else spoke directly to him the circle would break. Not that this or any circle could actually bind Danny.
“We’re looking for someone who may be in your realm.” Trench coat began and Danny frowned.
“You know conversations usually start with introductions. I’ll start. I’m King Daniel Phantom, ancient of space, Guardian of doors, lover of the stars yada yada yada. May I inquire as to who has summoned me?”
“You can call me Constantine, these colorful folks behind me are the Justice league.”
“Right, well call me Danny. You said you’re looking for someone. If he’s a dead soul, I can’t help ya. Hades deals with spirits of the dead in his little corner of the infinite realms. I could definitely enroach upon his territory if I wanted to because it’s part of the realms and I rule the realms but that guy is a grade A asshole and I tend to leave him be. Now if he’s a ghost I might be able to help, but the realms are infinite and even I don’t know how many denizens are there. by the time we run a census on any of the city states, most have doubled in population..”
Oh yes, the inner workings of the realm were…stupid and complicated. No wonder there were so many observants. Not the point.
“There’s a difference between a soul and a ghost?” Someone asked and there went the power of the circle. Damn these heroes were dumb. Constantine looked panicked but Danny simply floated there with a hand on his chin wondering how much he could info dump before they got annoyed.
“Souls are what pass on into hades. Hades zone takes the form of whatever afterlife the passing believed in. Sometime, however, a person who passes has been exposed to enough ectoplasm that their soul reforms into something new. Those are ghosts. Their existence relies heavily on emotions, hence you run into a lot ghosts who died in gruesome or painful ways, or ghosts who feel way too much in their passing.” It’s why there were entire cities in the realm just full of ghosts who couldn’t pass on. “Usually if a ghost wishes to pass on to the actual after life they submit a request and it goes through me or my council. Those requests usually come from the more passively formed ghosts though. The ones who had too many regrets when they passed or were scared or left people behind. It’s a complicated system and not what you called me here to explain I’m sure. Anyway, do you think this person is a ghost or a soul. If they’re a soul I might be able to convince Hades to let them come say goodbye but can’t gaudente that. Again, grade A asshole, that one.”
“As far as we know he was alive when he fell through the portal.”
“The portal?” To answer to his question, someone held up a tablet and played some video footage. Sure enough that was Tim falling through a conveniently placed “natural portal.” Danny fucking loved sentient cities. No way that portal would have formed their other wise. “When did this happen?”
“A 2 weeks ago.” Only 2 weeks? Damn it had been two months back in Danny’s dimension. Time fluctuations were weird.
“So a hero falls through a weird green portal and it takes a 2 weeks for you to summon me? Why the ghost king specifically.” It was constantine who answered him.”
“I summoned a couple of demons first. They pointed me in your direction. Took me a while to find a circle that worked.”
“Oh ho ho?” Danny’s grin grew sharp. All teeth and too many of them. A few heroes flinched back, but Danny ignored them. “Demons you say? Happen to remember their names?” Someone was getting their ass handed to them later. Danny had sent notice out that he had a missing person they were trying to find the home dimension of. Fucking Hades and his shitty ass demons. He was not letting this slight slide. Hades may technically be an ancient, but Danny was still King and figured it was about time for another reminder.
Constantine rattled them off and Danny nodded, committing them to memory. “Good news is I know where Tim is. He’s got Amnesia so I dropped him off with a friend from the dimension I originate from and they’ve been taking care of him while I searched for his home dimension. Do you know how many dimensions I have to comb through. Ugh, whatever. The issue is that there’s a time difference between here and the dimension he’s staying in. 2 months have passed as opposed to your 2 week. I can guarantee if I leave to go get him now at least two days will pass before you see me again. I will go get him, obviously, just wanted to let you know what to expect. My teams hope is that when he gets back to his home dimension his memories will start coming back faster, but it’s an unknown. He was lightly concussed when was brought to me, but that’s healed. Our guess is that either someone hit him just right or the sudden shift in dimensions messed with his memory. He’s been remembering things slowly, but it’s only bits and pieces. Other than that he’s healed and completely healthy.”
“That’s…the best news we’ve heard all week.” Danny gave Nightwing a soft understanding smile , probably picking up on the waves of relief pouring off of him.
“Right, I’ll be back with him soon then.”
Nightwing barely managed to keep it together until Danny was gone. As soon as the ghost king left through his own portal the vigilanti had collapsed to the ground, the relief of a possible answer to his missing brother overwhelming him. Cass was by his side immediately, reassuring him that the ghost had seemed honest in his body language at least and had come across as relieved despite all his rambling.
It had been a horribly hectic 2 weeks. Tim hadn’t checked in at the end of his patrol and Tim always checked in. That was the first red flag. So oracle traced his steps, found the last sighting of Tim on top a building near the narrows. It was clear that he wasn’t 100%. Tim was exhausted, and he’d stopped to take a breather after finishing a fight only for someone to sneak up behind him and hit him off the roof. The sheer panic of Tim possibly being dead in an alleyway nearly sent Dick into a panic attack, but halfway down the building the shadows condensed into…something, and a portal opened up right before Tim his the ground. The portal itself…was weird. It was a familiar green and that was terrifying.
Everyone knew about the weird mini war going on between Ra’s and Tim and that green was familiar. There weren’t a lot of League basses left, but Dick found them and together with his family they tore them apart. Still no Tim. So they called in the magic users and Constantine had said it seemed familiar but he’d ask around. Apparently that meant demons, and they all snickered when asked.
“Lost and found ain’t our department. If you want answers talk to the king.” At least that was a clue in the right direction. It ended in all the bats and half the Justice league scouring the world for information on a summoning circle for a new king because the old one was dead…or something.
Even the circle they’d used today was a long shot, but their the king was Daniel Phantom. Couldn’t be any older than Tim, and was also the king?
Constantine was laughing in that hysterical way of his. “You released him from his circle. I told you not to ask him questions or the circle would break. Ghosts rule through right of conquest. That kid defeated the previous king, the mad tyrant, in single combat. He is arguably the strongest being in existence and you should all be grateful he seems like a goofy kid because he could have wiped us out without a second thought.”
Dick ignored him. Taking a deep breath for the first time since Tim went missing. Two more days. He could handle two more days.
Danny returned home with good news obviously. The bad news was that they were saying goodbye to someone they now considered a friend. And even though Tim was excited to finally find he’s actual home and maybe get his memories back, he also seemed sad to go as well. So Danny pulled Tim around town, let him say goodbye to everyone he wanted to. Then piled Tim, Sam, and Tucker into the speeder, and sliced a hole through the realms into Tim’s dimension.
The portal opened right over where the summoning circle used to be. No one was their yet. That was probably Danny’s fault. He hadn’t exactly informed them where he’d be coming back to. Oh well, they’d figure it out soon enough. He shifted back to his human form and huddled next to the speeder with the the others until Nightwing came sprinting through the door and practically tackled Tim into a hug. Danny and co held back for a moment, watching as Tim went from confused, to defensive to practically melting into the hug. It was like something in his eyes cleared for the first time and the crew knew Tim would be okay.
They stood to the side as more bat/bird themed individuals came in, as Tim was surrounded by people he immediately recognized and hugged. It was heart warming. And then Tim dragged everyone over to the speeder.
“Guys, this is Sam, Tucker, and Danny. They looked out for me while I was missing and helped me find my way home.” Some awkward introductions were passed around. Dick hugged everyone.
Tucker handed Tim a phone that was programmed to be able to communicate between dimensions. Sam gave him a plant and made him swear to deliver it to pamala Isley. Danny just…
Actually Danny doesn’t do anything before Tim pulls him into a massive hug. “I expect you to visit me.”
“Not sure I could ignore you if we’re being honest. Your definitely one of the more interesting missing persons cases I’ve dealt with. Also Tucker will miss his hacking buddy.” Tim laugh and it felt like the most beautiful thing Danny had heard. “I bet I can bribe clockwork into resetting my dimensions time rate so that ours can match.”
“Aww, you’d do that for me?” And the shit eating grin told Danny he was teasing him. Jokes on Tim though. Loyalty’s his fatal flaw, and half his obsession is protection. How’s he gonna protect the newest member of his friend group if they’re not aging the at same rate?
“I’d do a lot for you Tim. Don’t test me. Sam and Tuck already tried; it did not end well.” For the other guy. “Now go have your happy reunion with you family. Shoot us a message when you want to hang out.”
So with one final goodbye Danny and Co head home and Tim returns to Gotham with his family.
When Danny visits Gotham later on the first thing he does is track down Lady Gotham and gives her the energy boost she rightly deserves. He thanks her as well for looking out for her hero’s so well.
All in all it’s a happy ending. Also somehow word spread about the absolute throw down Danny had planned for Hades because his demons kept important information from the king, and their was a crowd for that beat down. Naturally Danny won.

DP x DC prompt/headcanon: Danny x Yandere!Tim (braindead ship/dead tired ship)
Please forgive me this questionable brainrot.
Tim is almost canonically yandere.
Danny might be a little bit into it. Which might be weird, he’d think at first. He hates it when Vlad stalks him and tries to control every aspect of his life he can. But… Tim isn’t Vlad. Danny knows Tim and his own personal brand of creepiness… and doesn’t mind it. Likes it even.
Because unlike Vlad, Tim’s possessiveness and overprotectiveness makes Danny feel safe. Makes him believe that if something gets screwed in his life, at least there’s one crazy paranoid badass vigilante that got his back.
So he plays along with Tim’s behavior.
He got used to regularly check for Vlad’s surveillance cameras and destroy them, because fuck that fruitloop. But Tim’s cameras have his signature and, once they’re placed, there’s no sight of Vlad’s toys at all. Danny allows it. Sometimes he even waves to where he knows a camera is placed.
He found Tim’s tracker on his person and bought a cool keychain to put it on. He learned to never go anywhere without it.
Getting used to Tim knowing his internet history and chats was a little harder, but he managed to discuss some boundaries. Didn’t stop Tim from occasionally breaching them but at this point Danny knew his boyfriend was just messing with him.
The expensive gifts were overwhelming at first because Danny wasn’t used to getting so much nice stuff not from his family. It took a while for Danny to get brave enough to start asking Tim for things (which was exactly what Tim wanted - spoil him).
At some point he realized that Tim essentially trained him to always seek out his company if he wanted to do something for fun. Of course he did. Eh, no harm in that - Tim was cool to hang out with.
It took a lot of convincing for Tim to start sharing Danny with his other friends. Danny was very grateful and promised to always devote an entire day of cuddles after his every meet-up with Sam and Tucker.
At least Tim wasn’t jealous of Danny’s sister (because Jason would have his head if he learned he prevented his girlfriend from doting on her younger brother)
There was this one time when GiW got too close to capturing Danny and, in his stress, he called Tim and practically begged “can you kidnap me?”
Tim did exactly that. Held Danny in the Nest, handcuffs and all. Danny didn’t mind - it brought him a sense of security. Knowledge he was in the arms of someone who will not give him up to a crazy government agency out to gut him for science.
That was enough of a push for Tim to start working on dismantling GiW. Needless to say, he was successful.
He didn’t set Danny free for a while afterwards though. Danny understood and was okay with it. He also needed some time to get a grip on his life back.
The handcuffs were gone but Danny was still reluctant to leave Tim’s side. They started patrolling almost every day together (at least Tim allowed him - he knew how important it was for his obsession).
Danny knows that Tim will kill for him… and he finds it hot. Not that he will condone it, but it’s the thought that counts.
When some ghosts started calling Tim “the king’s consort”… Danny felt warm… and concerned and… possessive…
Oh no… Tim turned him into a yandere too…

Ghost king au where Danny and Tim are married. Problem? Tim doesn't know it.
How did this happen? Oaiji board session gone horribly wrong? Did his parents sell him as a bride (even jokingly) to the ghost king? Did Tim buy some wierd antique jewelry and put it on for a disguise? Who knows!
Danny sees no reason to tell him seeing as ghost laws allow polygamy so Tim can live a normal life and date/marry whoever he wants and be none the wiser to his ghostly marital status.
In other words he avoids his problems as usual.
Tim would just like to know why supernatural entities scatter like roaches the moment he steps onto the scene

DC x DP #8
Danny is in his twenties and aids the police with solving crimes so that there are less ghost coming into the Infinite Realms by preventing deaths due to violent crimes. He does this by talking to past victims (If they are comfortable speaking about it) and giving ideas on how they are getting away with it ( He's seen some things working with clockwork.
GCPD contacts him and his sister (since there criminals are extremely mental and she is a leading psychologist, so two for one deal maybe and people that already know how to work together) one day to aid in stopping some of the worst criminals. The first thing they aid with is improving Arkham.
The bats start noticing a lack of criminals on the street, specifically the ones that commit the worst crime and are concerned that they may be working together to commit an even worse crime then go to Arkham to investigate. They discover that it has been majorly rehauled and that some patients are even moved out of state to more secure facilities as Arkham was not original built to contain criminally insane with a penchant for manipulating psychologists and others.
They start investigating Danny and Jazz and find out that Danny is known to be a real life Medium (they play it off like that so no one knows his alternate identity) and that he works with ghost, even some that can be seen and touched unless they don't want to be.
From this point on it can any number of routes.

So I LOVE the idea of a meet the parents fic where Danny is dating one of the bat kids and he is invited over to meet the rest of the family.
Whatever batkid you like (i personally like Tim x Danny)
And dinner is going GREAT, danny is charming the hell out of everyone when he says something vaguely concerning about his home life that borders neglect (or even just straight abuse) and Danny doesnt know what he said was wrong and just keeps eating without a thought.
Maybe he complimented Alfred’s cooking and said, “man this is great! Even better when it doesn’t get reanimated by your parents experiments” or “wow, I wish my folks cooked meals for me and my sister like this.”
and Bruce just gets that look in his eye. you know the one! And whoever is next to Bruce kicks him in the shin and glares at him like, “I know what your thinking! Don’t you dare!” And bruce just looks at them like, “but I cant not adopt him!” And danny is blissfully unaware of this whole conversation.
But if damien was the one who brought danny he would immediately offer for danny to stay without consulting ANYONE. like after he says vaguely concerning things damien is just like, “move here and you don’t have to go hungry ever again.” Or “live with me and i will protect you forever.” Or even just, “bring your sister next time, i am concerned for your health if your parents can reanimate food.”
On the flip side: Danny bringing one of the bats home with HIM!
Jazz would be SO excited to meet Danny’s significant other! Danny had been dreading bringing his bat home with him because his parents were EMBARRASSING (absent or explosive) so there they are sitting around the table waiting for jack and maddie and eventually danny sighs and just says its ok and to start eating. Jazz almost gets up to go hound their parents about this but danny stops her and smiles. Then like a hour later an explosion in the basement shakes the house and up from the basement Jack and Maddie wearing full hazmat suits burst through the basement doors as smoke bellows out. In the possess maddie greets them and goes back to doing what she was doing. The whole time the bat is mentally cataloging very problematic behavior the Fenton’s are showing as well as thinking of ways to bring danny and his sister somewhere safe.
OR
Jack and Maddie cause a fire in the kitchen while Danny’s bat is over and the fenton kids sigh like this has happened before, danny turns to jazz “ill go get the fire extinguisher.” And jazz nods, “Ill order takeout, any preferences?”
OR
Danny comes home with their bat to Jazz looking nervous and when danny sees her he immediately realizes that it is his parents doing the cooking tonight and is about to walk right back out the door with their bat but his dad walks out and stops him with a bright smile.
The bat is intimidated by Jack’s sheer size (he is a very large man and they never thought that someone could be taller than Superman but here was Jack Fenton) and then when they sit down to eat after Jack spent an hour talking at them. But then the food is reanimated and starts to attack and so the bat fights back and impresses the fenton parents with their fighting skills.
Either way both would be a disaster and i am LIVING for it!!!!!

A Blanket Full of Stars
EDIT: MASTERLIST
Jason was 6 years old when Danny was born, and he remembered that Danny looked like a wrinkly monkey wrapped in Jason’s softest blanket that he could find in his closet. The blanket had all these stars and planets, and tiny little rocket ships that look like they’re about to crash into the moon.
Jason giggled, because his baby brother looked like a monkey in space.
Jason loves him.
That day of his birth, when Jason held the little baby in his arms, he promised to be the best big brother ever. He’ll make sure that no one bullies his brother for looking like a tiny monkey, and beat up anyone that even tries to beat up his brother. He’ll read all the books the old ladies from the diner gave him, and turn on the radio when Danny wants to listen to music because Jason sure as hell can’t sing.
But his mom said they couldn’t keep him. They couldn’t afford to keep him.
Jason was heartbroken.
So, some social workers went looking for a family to take Danny in.
The day the new family came to pick up Danny, Jason held Danny the whole morning, not letting go of his baby brother who was sleeping so peacefully.
Danny had also gotten attached to Jason. He’d stop crying when Jason holds him, rocks him, carries him. He’d make little ‘num-num’ sounds when Jason feeds him. And when Jason talks to him, he’d reply with a ‘bwah!’ and an ‘awuwuwu!!’
Danny can’t lift anything yet, but he’d hold on to Jason’s finger. Danny can’t roll over yet, but he’d lay his chubby cheek on Jason’s shoulder. Danny can’t talk yet, but Jason just knows when Danny calls for him.
So, when the new family comes into the house with the social worker, Jason couldn’t hold back the tears. No, he couldn’t let go of Danny.
Danny was still a month old! What if he gets sick in the car ride! What if the parents forget Danny because he’s so small? Danny might not look like a monkey anymore, but what if the parents leave him alone anyways? How can he trust these people to take care of Danny?
Oh, they have a daughter??
It doesn’t matter!! She is a 2 years old girl that’s crying when she saw Jason crying. She can’t take care of Danny! She can’t feed Danny, or bathe him!! Her tiny arms can’t carry him either!
Danny can’t go with them!
But his mom was crying with him. “I’m sorry,” she said, hugging him when the two parents took Danny. Jason’s head was hugged close to her chest, but Jason had a clear view of his baby brother. His baby brother that was making distressed sounds while being held by unfamiliar people. “I’m sorry, but Danny won’t be able to live a good life here, baby. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry.”
Jason hated this. Jason could take care of Danny, he promises! He can! He won’t even let his good-for-nothing dad touch him like the month Danny was with them!
But, when the baby girl, Jazz, was lifted by the giant man, Danny stopped making such sad sounds. Then, Jason watched as Jazz lifted her hand. And he was ready to run in and stop her from slapping his brother, but he stopped. He stopped because she patted Danny’s cheek so gently.
And Danny... Danny cooed the same way he would at Jason. Danny held the little toddler’s finger and babbled loudly, like he would when he’s being held by Jason.
Jason hated it. He hated the little baby girl. Danny was going to a better family, going to be taken care by a girl he’ll call his sister. And Jason will be forgotten! Danny won’t ever remember Jason anymore!
It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair!
Jason ran to his and Danny’s room. Well, his room now. All of Danny’s things had been packed.
Then, Jason saw the blanket. The blanket that made Danny look like a little monkey in space. It’s the softest blanket Jason has. And Jason doubts that the new family would have a blanket full of stars like his does.
“Jason! They’re about to leave!”
He picks up the blanket, folds it, and runs downstairs. Danny was all buckled up in the car seat the new family purchased just for him. He was sucking on a binky that the new family bought too.
The new family saw the blanket Jason was holding.
“It’s... It’s for Danny,” he told them.
His mom pursed his lips. “It’s not washed,” she said.
But Jazz made grabby hands towards the blanket. “Ish Danny’sh!!” she said, still reaching for it.
The woman, who was going to Danny’s new mother, smiled kindly and took the blanket. She unfolded the blanket, and laid it over Danny, who cooed loudly the moment he held the softest blanket Jason owned.
It wasn’t a spaceship, but Jason felt like Danny was being flown to a whole other planet. It sucked, and it hurt, and Jason was going to miss his monkey baby brother.
He looked into Danny’s car seat and patted Danny’s tummy. Danny held his finger and latched on to it. “Awu!”
Jason sniffed. “I’ll miss you, Danny,” he said. Then, he brought Danny’s tiny hand up to his lips and kissed it. “I’m going to miss you so, so much.”
Jason felt his mom’s hand on his back. “It’s time for them to go, Jason,” she said softly.
Jason huffed. Then, he looked towards Jazz, and gave her a firm look. “Take care of him, okay?” he said, to which Jazz blinked. “Even when adults think they’re taking care of their kids, take care of Danny, okay? He’s small, and he looks like a monkey.”
Jazz looked to Danny, as if to confirm he’s a monkey. She pouted at him. “No mo’key!”
Jason huffed, grinning. “Good, now I know you’ll take care of him...”
He stepped out of the car and stood beside his mom. When the adults were done talking, the new parents stepped into their car. And then, the car started.
His mom was waving. She was crying, but she was waving.
“Say goodbye, Jason,” she said.
He couldn’t do such a thing. He couldn’t lift his hand. And he couldn’t bring himself to talk.
Finally, the car started moving.
Jason couldn’t help it. The car was already a block away, but... but...
He ran. He ran after the car ignoring his mother’s yell for him.
“DANNY!!!” he cried, gasping and sobbing. He wanted his brother back. He wanted him BACK.
“DANNY!!!!!!”
The car turned. There was a traffic light that turned green. There was a truck.
“JASON!!!” he heard his mom cry.
But Jason... Jason was flying.
He looked up to see Robin holding him, gently landing in front of his mom, who ran up to Jason and hugged him tightly. “Oh, my baby...” she cried.
Jason... he... Jason cried, hugging his mom just as tight.
He couldn’t hear his mom thanking Robin, nor hear Robin ask if everything was okay. He didn’t feel his body being lifted and carried into their horrible apartment that smelled like beer. He didn’t feel himself being laid onto his bed. Jason scooted on instinct, but there was no tiny body that was going to be laid with him.
Instead, his mom told him to scoot near the wall, where Danny would have been. Jason would be the body that blocks Danny from falling.
His chin trembled, but he scooted near the wall anyways. And his mom laid beside him, petting his hair and hugging him close to her.
“I miss him,” said Jason.
“I know, baby,” she said, kissing his forehead. “I’m sorry...”
Jason shook his head. “He’ll be safe with them?” he asked.
“Yes,” his mom said. “Safer and will grow up healthier. He’ll be loved and cared for. He’ll have a normal life, one that’s better than Gotham.”
Jason chose to believe her. He had to.
*******
Okay, so, I cried while writing this whole thing. And, I just--- Oh my godddd....
So, headcanons and notes for this AU!!
- As you’ve read, it’s a Jason and Danny as Bio-Brothers!! Jason is 6 years old uwu, and Danny was just born! Danny stayed with them for a whole month while the social worker was looking for potential families to adopt Danny. They came across the Fentons, who were more than willing to take in a child that came from one of the poorest of families in Gotham. They drove all the way to pick Danny up themselves.
- It takes Jason 3 whole months to get over Danny. He noticed his mom and his dad fighting more and more every day, until one day his mom was... weird. IT was the start of his mom’s drug addiction. This is also when Jason finds out that she’s not his actual mom, but she still loves him. She loves him so much, but she was also tired.
- Cue major events, like Catherine Todd dying over overdose, Jason meeting Batman, Jason in the middle of Dick and Bruce’s argument. What’s different here is that Jason ends up being a little bit closer to Dick, because Dick remembers saving Jason when he was smol. Dick visits the manor more often, only to spend time with Jason and nothing more (maybe for Alfred’s cookies too). Jason dies, Superboy-prime alters reality and Jason gets revived, Talia finds him, dumps him into the Lazarus Pits, blah blah blah, the rest is history.
- In Danny’s corner, who is now 15 years old, for a show-and-tell, Mr. Lancer prompts the students to bring something from their baby days that isn’t a binky or a baby bottle, and to tell the class about it in the most creative way they could.
- Danny tells Jazz about it, and Jazz remembers about the box in her closet full of Danny’s things of when he was a baby that she didn’t want her parents destroying. She brings it out and shows it to Danny, and he finds the blanket.
- “Heh. Looks like even when I was a baby, I was into space.”
- Jazz had a strained smile on her face. “Yeah. Mom and Dad said that it took you 3 whole years to let go of that blanket,” she said. But her smile was still strained.
- Danny furrows his brow at her and asks, “What? What’s wrong?”
- Jazz sits Danny down. Her parents were going to tell him... someday... when they weren’t busy with their ‘job’. So, Jazz decides to just do it now.
- Danny finds out that he was adopted. Jazz tells him that her earliest memory was this older kid giving Danny the blanket, and calling Danny a monkey. “You held his finger and he kissed your hand, saying he’ll miss you. I think he was your older brother.”
- “I don’t understand,” said Danny. “Didn’t they want me?”
- Jazz nodded. “I asked Mom and Dad about it... your real family... they weren’t doing well. They were struggling financially. They said that the social worker suspected your real dad abusing your mom... I don’t know about your brother...”
- Jazz hugged Danny, who was crying. “They loved you so much, Danny,” she whispered. “So, so much.”
- Danny washed the blanket. After a wash, the blanket ended up becoming the softest thing in Danny’s room. He slept with the blanket, feeling a bit closer with his brother. Definitely his brother. It just felt right. And Danny knew than to ignore his intuition that was getting a bit too accurate now that he was half-ghost.
- Danny then asked Tucker to search about his family. “Todd, that was their last name,” he said. “My mom’s name was Catherine Todd, and my brother’s was Jason... My dad’s was... Will? William? Willis? Wilred? I don’t remember...”
- Tucker searched. And... “Dude... you’re... not going to like this.”
- “What? What’s wrong?” he asked.
- Tucker sucked in a breath. “I just want you to prepare yourself, okay? It’s not good news.”
- Danny frowned. “Just say it, Tuck.”
- Tuck gulps, but nods. Then, he shows Danny what he searched. Catherine Todd had died from overdose, Willis Todd was a crook that was murdered by Two-face. And Jason... his brother... he was adopted into a wealthy family! The Waynes! He managed to get into a prestigious school! And Danny wondered why Jason didn’t go find him? Did Jason ever think of coming to get him now that he was in a better place? And Danny, maybe he wouldn’t be going to Jason, but it would have been nice to reconnect somehow? Maybe not... They had their own lives.
- But then, Danny reaches the final paragraphs of the research results that Tucker put together.
- “He... He died?” he asked, reading and rereading what happened. An accident. An accident killed his brother.
- But, despite Tucker confirming it, it... didn’t feel right. And Danny’s intuition was getting better and better, more accurate. So, if it didn’t feel right that his brother died, then his brother probably isn’t dead. Did he fake his death? No... that didn’t feel right. He totally died. Then...
- Was he brought back to life?
- Bingo, his intuition said.
- “Dude? Hey, dude, are you okay?” Tucker was patting his back, talking softly and trying to ground Danny back from his panic attack.
- Danny made a decision. He was going to fly towards Gotham. He needed to find his brother. Check on him. Check on how he’s doing.
- After reassuring Tucker, he made plans. Then, during the weekend, Danny talked to Valerie to take over for him, along with Sam and Tucker, and he flew all the way to Gotham to look for his brother.
- He felt Death everywhere he flew. But he felt the calling of a malformed ghost-core. Jason? His intuition sang. So, Danny flew closer and closer, until he reached an apartment along a street that seemed abandoned, if it weren’t for the various gangster-looking people roaming along it.
- Danny transformed back into his human form, no longer feeling the strong pull, but a weaker version of it.
- ‘JASON!!’ his mind seemed to scream. He was about to see his brother. He was about to MEET his brother!! ‘JASON!!!!!’
- He was about to cross the street when... the light was turned green... and there was a truck and...
- Danny was flying. He wasn’t transformed, but Danny was flying in the air, held firmly by some teen in a hero get-up and a domino mask.
- Danny was plopped gently on the side-walk he was aiming to get to.
- “Phew,” said the teen. And, wow, he’s only slightly taller than Danny. He’s probably the same age as him... or older. He looked Danny up and down before asking, “So, you doing okay?”
- Danny nods. “I’m good,” he said. Wow, he’s got a nice voice. And a nice body. Are those abs real? Or are those just kevlar linings??
- “Where are you trying to go?” the teen asked, snapping Danny out of his close to sinful thoughts.
- “I’m looking for my brother,” said Danny, clutching onto the blanket tighter, thankful that the teen saved him or else it could have gotten ruined. Sure, he’s been hit by buses before, but not while he was in human form!! “He lives on this street.”
- The way the teen’s brows rose higher made the hero look a little cute--- FOCUS DANNY! He’s not here for cute boys in hero get-ups!! Oh shoot. Oh man. Oh no...
- “What’s your brother’s name?” the teen asked. And, Thank You!! Yes! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT DANNY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING!
- “You just look like someone who lives on this street,” the teen said, smiling a bit crookedly. OHHHHHHH WHY ARE YOU SMILING LIKE THAT?! THAT’S ILLEGAL! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE A HERO, NOT A THIEF OF HEARTS!!!!
- Calm yourself, Danny. Let’s find out whether we are talking about the same person. Danny blinked. “What’s that person’s name?”
- “Peter Todd,” the teen said.
- Feeling a bit dejected, Danny shook his head. “That’s not the person I’m looking for,” he said. “I’m looking for Jason Todd.”
- “Jason Todd is... dead,” he said, a bit hesitantly.
- “No, he’s not,” Danny said, a bit firmly.
- The teen took him by the shoulders, and brought Danny’s face closer to his. He could feel the teen’s breath. It smelled like coffee and breath mints. “Legally, he is,” the teen said.
- That... that got Danny’s attention. He whispered back, “What do you mean by-- oh.” Legally, his brother is dead. He died, he came back to life, but to everyone, Jason is dead. So... “He has a new civilian identity?” asked Danny.
- The teen leaned back and nodded. Then, he pointed to a door. “That’s Peter’s house,” he said. Then, he aimed his grappling hook to the sky.
- Danny stuttered a loud ‘thank you’, to which was responded to with a brief wave from the teen, who flew off to the next building over.
- Danny then went up to the door that belongs to Peter Todd. Jason Todd. His brother.
- Should he knock? Ring the doorbell?
- Before Danny could make a decision, the door opened for him.
- And there, in front of him, was a tall man who looked like a more human and slimmer version of Dan, a white streak in his hair, and a slight stubble on his chin. He had the same blue eyes as Danny. And those blue eyes widened when Danny brought up his blanket. His blanket full of stars, and planets, and tiny rockets that he loved so much the more he held on to it.
- “Jay... Jason?”
- The man’s chin wobbled, and Danny felt his own chin wobbling. Great. Both of them are going to cry. But, instead of saying anything, the man stepped towards him and brought him into a hug, a tight hug that’s so warm and full of love, Danny couldn’t help but hug back.
- “Danny?” Jason’s voice was breathy.
- Danny couldn’t respond, only letting out a small sound that was a mix of a whine and a grunt.
- Jason chuckled. “Still a monkey, aren’t ya?”
- Danny felt Jason’s core calming the more Danny stayed with him, and Jason felt himself lighter than he had in years. It couldn’t be because Danny was here, but it is! It is because Danny is here!
- Jason invites him inside. It was quiet at first, the two of them just taking in the other, trying to process how real this was. And then, they began exchanging stories. Something light, of what had been going on for the past years they’ve been apart.
- And then, the next thing they knew, it was already morning of the next day, and Danny needed to get back home. He gave one last hug to Jason, promising that he’ll visit again next week, and took off to the street, turning on his invisibility and flying back to Amity Park.
****
- Red Robin, or should we say Tim Drake, saw it all. From the moment Danny suddenly appeared to the moment Danny disappeared in the alleyway. He had just finished talking to Jason about some case they were working on together, although their relationship was still a bit rocky, when he saw the teen suddenly appear in the alleyway below Tim.
- Well, rocky relationship aside, Tim’s mind flew with a thousand thoughts a second when Danny confirmed who he was looking for. Danny knew for some reason that Jason was alive, but he didn’t know Jason’s fake identity. The teen knew where Jason lived, but he also looked like he was just going to go up some random door and hope that the person who opens it would be the person he’s looking for.
- Cass had taught him how to read sincerity of a person’s behavior, and Danny wasn’t hiding anything. He was sincerely looking for his brother.
- He was also kinda cute.
- “Tt. What are you spacing out about, Timothy? Your face is making a weird expression,” said the Demon Brat.
- Stephanie snickered. “Give him a break, Dames! Our dear Timmy-Wimmy’s in Wuuuuuuv~!”
- Tim sighed.
- Anything else that happens? It’s for another day <3

Hurt/comfort
-An extract-to-be from my fic, Angel Cakes are a Multiversal Experience by KittensOfAsh -
"I didn't want to be king, yknow. Most of the time, when I say I didn't want to be king and they assume I mean the ghost-ness and like yeah, that too, but I mean being King. I just wanted to be an astronaut. Go to the stars, and come home to laugh at my parent's stupid inventions." Danny whispered to Tim, their fingers curled together by their faces, as they lay underneath a pile of blankets, obscured by the night's darkness.
Tim tightened the grip he had on Danny's fingers. "I didn't want to be CEO. Barely even wanted to go into business. Which is stupid, because everyone knew I was going to run DI- when DI collapsed, honestly, lookijg back, Bruce probably saw an opportunity; a well-trained heir ready to take over the company he hates to run. But I didn't think he'd really do it, y'know. I wanted to be a photographer. When DI collapsed well, one small part of me was grateful. I could he anything I wanted, now. I thought he understood that. But now I'm CEO and I can't just ignore it because then Lucius sends Tam after me, or I feel guilty about leaving my work for everyone else to do- I just wanted to be a photographer. Waste of my potential or not, I wanted a degree in photography. Maybe I could have photographed crime scenes or heroes or become a business photographer even! Instead I'm a high school drop out." Tim admitted, just as quietly.
Danny huffed, leaning forward to rest his forehead against his partner's. "When we find Bruce, you'll be free again," he vowed. "And you will go get your degree in space engineering." Tim returned. Danny hummed, smiled, and curled his arms around Tim's waist. "That would be nice."
The two curled up together, sharing their warmth as their eyes fluttered shut. Tomorrow, they would face reality. Tonight, they would dream.

Tim*panics*: What are we supposed to do, what are we supposed to do, Danny?
Phantom: Sweetie, you are the "brain" part of our ship. According to my parents' publications I'm not even capable of coherent thought, and judging by the grades Mr. Lancer is giving me, he deeply supports their statements. So calm down and you will find a solution.
Tim: You're completely hopeless...
Danny: and useless :D

The Trials and Tribulations of Summoning Your Boyfriend
This is based on this prompt from @stealingyourbones !  Hope y’all like it!

Tim wasn't up in the watchtower much. It's the Justice League's base and he had his own city and team to take care of (even if said team is a branch of the Justice League and he shared responsibility of Gotham with his family). All of that is to say that when he and other available members of the League were called to the watchtower, it was bad.
Tim was expecting a world ending threat. What he wasn't expecting was a summoning circle and a portion of Justice League Dark to be there. John Constantine and a summoning circle always means bad news, it's even worse that Zatanna and Captain Marvel are there helping. What kind of threat is it to warrant this? All of this is topped off with superman wheeling in a projector to the training room they are all set up in.
Bruce steps up next to the projector. He looks extremely tired, not that most people could tell but a bird knows the bat well. As Bruce turns on the machine, Constantine takes his place next to him with a book bound in leather that holds pages that glow a slight green.
"I called you all here because of this creature attacking Central City." Projected on the wall is a blurry image of a black dragon with a purple underbelly, its whole body glowing.
"Justice League Dark was able to identify it as from a place called the Infinite Realms. They have advised us to not engage and to evacuate everyone we can from the whole city. The Flash has started that. Half of you will join him, as indicated by folders Superman is handing out. The other half will be here to help with the solution that Constantine is handling."
As Bruce directs those in the evacuation group, Constantine takes over the debrief. "The beast in Central City is a bitch to take care of and the solution is even worse. You boy scouts are here to make sure everything doesn't go completely tits up. I hate to say this and hate fucking doing it even more, but we are trying to trying to summon the Ghost King."
At that point Tim tuned out a bit. Usually he wouldn't have but he actually knows more about what's happening than Constantine does. Looking back at the creature still being projected, he can vaguely recognize it now. How did Aragon get out of the realms? Especially without being noticed by Da-
Tim was pulled out of his thoughts by Dick, who apparently was dragged here as well, brushing past him with a smirk. What a dick, going out of his way to mess with him. He really should get to where he was needed.
Taking his place near the top of the summoning circle, he noticed how it was actually set up. It was wrong, completely and utterly wrong. The array was correct. It showed the right constellations and had the right places connected but the candles aren't on the circles that represent the planets, nor was the offering placed correctly. This wasn't going to summon anything. Too bad that Tim was going to let them try anyway. It's better than trying to correct it and explain why he knew it was wrong, plus where was the fun in that.
The other heroes settle into their places. The ones left were the Justice League's big three , the JLD members, Conner, Dick, and Tim himself. They all looked a little nervous and on edge in their own way, from Superman's clenched fists to Dicks never moving smile. Besides Tim who was a bit more relaxed than he really should be. He really should hide it a bit better.
Constantine reading from the book starts the summoning. Latin falling heavy from his lips, a wind that should not be possible in a satellite blows through the room, the candles' flame turns neon green. Everyone holds their breath as the chanting stops. The candles flicker once, twice, and nothing. The room quickly reverted to how it was before. The tension in the air could be cut with a knife.
"Bollocks." Constantine deflates. "Looks like this didn't work, we must have fucked up somewhere."
"Why don't we explain how we set it up and go from there." Zatanna offers, gesturing for everyone to gather around her and Constantine. Tim stays back and waits for the rest to be distracted by figuring out what went wrong. He can tell that Bruce and Dick have noticed his distance from the others but they haven't done anything yet.
Once the distraction is set, Tim moves in front of the correct offering section of the array. Removing his glove and taking out a birdarang from his belt. He can hear the moment everyone notices the actions he has taken and the one about to come.
"Red Robin, step away from the summoning circle." Bruce demands with concern hidden in his voice.
Tim doesn't listen.
In the moment before anyone can get to him, Tim slashes his ring finger on his left hand. It wasn't deep per say but it definitely wasn't a paper cut. Blood flows out of the wound (almost like a ring), hitting the floor inside the offering ring of the array.
Several things happen at once. First, Dick who was the closest and was trying to grab him, stopped in his tracks along with everyone else. Second, the summoning changed. The first offering was ejected from its place, the crystals shattering. Candles slide at high speed, settling on the represented planets, their flames changing color. The summoning is like a loaded spring trap now. Tim grinning, sets the trap off.
"Alnilam, my love" dropped soft and sweet from Tim's lips with a crawling static buzz. Everyone could hear the buzzing honey intertwined with those words despite their low volume.
The stilled room stirred, yet no one but Tim himself had moved. A cold fog rolls out from the array, blowing a light breeze with it. The static can be felt in their scars, healed bones, all the near misses, and clipped hits. All close calls of the past haunt them in this moment. The room's lovely held in tension snaps as the soul deep buzz is pulled from them into the array. It spills into a Lazarus, toxic, death, neon green pool with small rippling waves that crest with reflection of the space that engulfs the watchtower. This rippling pool stretches upwards. Everyone struggles to move as they inch closer to Tim. As the liquid barely reaches the tall ceiling of the training room, gravity seems to take hold. It sloshes down, turning into a cool fog on impact. Leaving a being in its wake, that is kissing Tim's offered bloody hand.
Danny is in his full king garb. A black metal crown floats above his head surrounded by light similar to earth's aurora borealis. White hair glowing starlight complementing pale blue skin, that blushes the prettiest cyan, not that anyone but Tim can see that. Jewelry hanging from pointed ears and slender neck. His suit is hidden by a long cloak cut from the barrier between realities. The outside is the space outside the satellite with the interlining of a swirling Lazarus green peaking out as the end floats upward.
Tim is grinning like a love struck fool and he knows it. This is so worth the lecture he will be getting from both Bruce and Dick. Danny raises his head, blood staining his lips as they stretch into a fanged grin just as love struck.
"Hey Red, uh what the fuck!?" Dick's voice snapped the two boys out of their own world and back into the one with everyone surrounding them with looks of concern and from certain people, bone deep exhaustion. Danny drops Tim's no longer bleeding hand, allowing Tim to turn to fully look at the group around them. Tim's grin is now one of mischief and secrets yet to be spoken. From the look on Bruce's face if Danny wasn't behind him he would be out of the watchtower and locked in the manor despite not living there anymore. Too bad that Constantine could give less of a fuck about what's going on between Danny and him.
"Your highness, we called your assistance because one of your subjects is causing trouble in the moral realm and-" as Constantine told and worked out what was going on, Danny moved so he was behind Tim, his arms loosely wrapped around Tim's neck and chin resting on top of his head. Danny was floating off the ground to do this.
"Oh! That's Aragon, give me 10 minutes and he'll be out of your hair. There is no payment needed, I insist. But before that –'' Danny’s legs float up, flipping him to face Tim upsidedown. A grin that only means trouble for Tim sets on his pretty face. “Red, Babe, Love. You could have just called me if you wanted me to meet your dad and his superhero friends!”
“Danny, I swear to the Ancients if you disappear –” Tim couldn’t finish the hollow threat as Danny gave him a peck on the cheek and disappeared from sight. Leaving Tim to the heroes, one being Bruce ‘Tim is my little princess’ Wayne and another is his very protective brother.
Tim looks at his family members in the room, and wow, yeah he is not escaping the interrogation when they get back to the manor. Bruce is approaching him swiftly and looks as if he is going to grab him and never let go. Dick is no better, he has a shit eating grin with his wrist computer up and is already typing. Everyone is going to be there for the interrogation and Bruce's coddling, Tim just knows it. He's going to make Danny go back to the manor with him, he is not doing this alone. It's the least his boyfriend can do after leaving him to deal with this. It was still worth it, even if he has to flee to the Infinite Realms after all is said and done. He’ll just become a trophy husband for Danny and avoid his family at all costs in doing so.
"Red Robin, would you please explain what your relation is with the King of the Infinite Realms." Bruce is definitely in mama bear mode, he was never going to be let outside of the manor.
"I think there are more pressing matters at hand here, like how King Phantom is on his way to Central City and we have yet to inform anyone on the ground." Tim is stalling and everyone knows it, but he's not wrong.
Bruce grumbles about not knowing the king's name but still steps away from Tim and starts relaying the relevant information to the evacuation team. Dick is leaving him alone for the moment, probably waiting for more privacy. Conner on the other hand is trying to hold in his laughter at the situation he got himself into. Tim just glares at him, even if Conner can't see it under the domino. At this point he doesn't care what the rest of the League thinks, he just wants Danny back so they can face Bruce and the rest of his family like he (they) has been avoiding.
Danny was quicker than his self-imposed time limit, taking 7 minutes instead of 10. Giving just enough time for Bruce to almost give an on the spot interrogation, almost being Tim's saving grace. Unlike Danny, who decides to drop his invisibility only after wrapping around Tim's torsos, his head and arms taking their previous places.
"Your ghost problem is taken care of. I'll be taking Aragon back to the infinity realms, along with Red Robin here." Danny casually says, like it isn't kidnapping.
"Wait, what." Tim said in shocked silence.
"Well since you summoning me got me out of a meeting with the observants, it's a perfect time to go on a date, you know like all of our dates." Danny is saying these things on purpose and he better get them out of here quick before Bruce tackles them.
"You are a menace!" as Tim says this, ectoplasm begins to pool at their feet, spreading out making a barrier of open space around.
"A menace, you love!" Danny lovingly teases as a low rumble ripples from his core making Tim smile. This is the last thing the heroes hear before the couple drops out of the mortal realm and into the one of the dead.

Bitter, Had the Heart
DC X Danny Phantom Crossover
Chapter 1: to see or to mistake
TW: Graphic depictions of Corpses, Mutilation, vile smells
Tim Drake was a brilliant Detective. He was a shareholder of Wayne Enterprises. Middle child of the family really. He was working on his degree in business at Gotham U, as expected. He also excelled, as expected. Nothing could have prepared him for this, though. I’m all his years of detective work nothing was quite this gruesome, this brutal. This slow.
A horrified terror filled expression struck across two gang member’s faces. Their deceased bodies had entrails splayed over the alley and he held a rag over his nose and mouth at the smell. It wasn’t just the decay setting into the bones and souls. It smelled like rotten eggs, sulfur. Mixed with the metallic scent of iron and blood and disgust.
Nightwing landed next to him.
“Oo that’s not pretty,”the man whispered. “Damn that stinks.” Time handed over a rag to his elder brother who very gladly put it over his nose.
“You’re telling me. This is one of the more brutal and gruesome cases I’ve seen in a while…” Tim was trying to take in what he could from below. They had to have been tortured alive as they had their entrails removed, at least most of the other rogue’s in Gotham made their subject’s deaths quick, even if painful but these? This was a new breed of brutal and horrific.
Tim was frustrated. He was a fucking detective for gods sake.
“How many is this now?”Nightwing looked at his younger brother before back down at the bodies.
“8… I think we can classify this as a serial case right now,”he huffed. He pulled out a notepad writing things down.
Smell of sulfur.
Entrails spread out.
Claw marks on the walls.
Symbols written into the alleyway walls in the blood of the fallen.
Faces frozen in horror.
This was the 7th and 8th one and of course it was similar to the others. Smell of sulfur. Entrails spread out. Once they got the autopsy report back he high suspected the heart will have been removed and a bite being taken out of the kidney if there even was one.
“So Gotham has another mysterious serial killer whose signature is as gruesome and messy as the Joker’s entire existence.” Tim had been frustrated with this case since it started and he was beyond grateful for the help. A lot of the bats were in on the case at some point. Duke had been trying to do Daytime recon. Tim and Dick were keeping up with police investigation, namely Dick who claimed he was coming from Bludhaven to help with the case. Got them both the inside information.
Bruce and Damian were trying to track down anything and it had been all hands on deck to keep a watchful eye on the city. Cass and Steph were off-planet apparently dealing with something from the covert ops team of Young Justice. Barb was doing her best to play eyes as she kept an eye on the various cctv footage around the city, but Gotham was big and there was always crime to attend too.
Tim was stretched thin himself. He normally had shareholder meetings in the mornings at least once a week, sometimes twice, and after that it was to his college classes. Tim had college, patrols, the company. Fuck. Let alone the occasional charity galas and other events he had to go to not only as a wayne but as a head of the company as a whole.
Tim was running on fumes as this case was running him dry. That was another reason why Dick was in town to lessen the load on Tim. He liked college and he knew that he wan’t exactly the most social person let alone the most normal(look at his job?) but he did want to do things sometimes with his friends. Though, he was sure his ‘friends’ probably wouldn’t be around for super long. Having mundane friends outside of super hero life was hard, let alone a romantic relationship. He had tried with the other heroes. He had tried with civilians but the civilians just couldn’t understand the time necessary and the excuses he was going to have to make.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to pursue a romantic relationship but it just simply felt as if he had no choice but to not. Wow, he was tired if hid mind was going off on it’s own separate tangent in mind distracting him from the task at hand. Speaking of…
A small flash of one of the police’s camera’s caught him off guard. Unbeknownst to the group a man in black tech wear with white accents and a mask pulled over his nose was crouched by the body. Hands gloves and a hood up over barely visible black hair. He was taking a sample it seemed of, what was that? How did he not notice that?
There was a green viscous liquid and he just collected it, not just an incredibly small amount, but what was on the body at all. It reminded him far too much of Lazarus water for his liking, but if someone had poured gelatin in it.
“Wing,”Time stated wide-eyed at him.
“I see.”
“We have eyes on a potential suspect,”Tim called over coms.
“Do not engage, follow,”Batman’s words echoed back to him. Duh. They wanted information on the dude. The two backed into the darkness a little more as soon as the police-men turned around he was gone. Tim and Dick watched his foot catch on the ledging as he climbed onto the roof of the building pulling down his hood and looking around. Eyes covered by a pair of goggles that were a stunning and haunting green color. Then it seemed he spotted the bats even from their vantage point, and as soon as they noticed. The man took off running.
“Shit!” Tim exclaimed, moving to jump onto the roof to pursue .
“Red! No engaging!”
“I’ve been following this shit for months, I’ve never been then close to a lead Nighty!” He exclaimed moving to follow.
“Language! But, really?!?” Nightwing followed after time the two moving with ease.
“Stop!!!” He yelled at the black masked figure who merely cocked his head to the side running backwards for a moment before jumping across to the next roof doing a roll. Experienced in parkour at least as Tim and Dick followed suit. Fuck he was fast.
“We need to corner him,”Dick hissed.
“Don’t tell B…”
“Don’t tell B what?”Dick replied before Tim threw two batarangs at his target.
“Red!” Dick exclaimed as the man dropped sliding on his knees to avoid the first one but as he got up the second one hit his leg. Bullseye. The person tripped holding his leg for a moment. A small grunt of pain could be heard as he scooted away from the two of them. The way their face was covered left no idea what thoughts crossed their mind. Nightwing landed next to Red as they stared at the man backing up against the wall to the roof.
“Don’t make us hurt you anymore. Tell us what you were removing from that crime scene,”Red threatened, grabbing his bo staff off his belt and letting it unfurl. The person shook their head as they used the short wall to stand up limping heavily. They weren’t incredibly close to the ground at the moment. At minimum a solid 8 stories high.
Pretty far up Tim would say. Which made the next move shake him. The man looked at them and slowly shook his head and by the time they both realized what they were doing their hearts broke. They gave him a farewell salute with two fingers and fell backwards off the edge of the building and neither himself nor Hightwing could catch him in time. Both running desperately to the edge wide eyed with panic.
It wouldn’t have been the first time someone had committed suicide to escape them. Tim doubted it would be the last either. Fate had it out for them in that way. Fate had it out for them in a lot of ways as Tim would find out over the course of events.
Though they never heard a smack against concrete as they rushed to the side, nor a scream of terror. So when they looked into the alley way the man wasn’t there anymore. Dick and him quickly using grappling hooks to get down.
“What the…”
“Where did he—“
“Infrared?” Dick suggested they both moved to look around them. Just the coldness of the alleyways and setting mid January weather. It was freezing in this alleyway.
“Is that a bed?”Dick pointed out the small campaign at the very back of the alley. A few cardboard boxes set up as a table with a few remains set there. Messy soaked sheets sat on top a cardboard bed with a messy pillow half destroyed it seemed
“Of course it’s a bad.” voice drawing them both out from their mission. “I never thought this would be the way I finally run into Two bats. You’re in front of my sleeping spot.”
They looked up to see a young man(teenager?) he only stood about 5’3. He was bundled up with a hoodie and a black trench coat over it. A soft blue scarf wrapped around his neck, hands shoved into his pockets with piercing blue eyes and ruffled black hair being held down by the matching blue beanie. He looked cold and from the infrared sensors on him the man was abnormally cold compared to most normal humans. A metà Maybe?
He had deep tired circles under his eyes. Skin far too pale to be healthy and a guant looks to his cheeks. His clothing almost just draping off his thin frame. He looked like he was very very sick if Tim could guess.
“Sorry for intruding, then,”Dick spoke up walking in front of him. Giving him a nod that he saw it too. “Did you happen to see a man fall from what roof?”
The man shifted and looked concerned Tim’s eyes looking of his shoulders, eyes, lips. Trying to pick up any subtle mico expressions.
“I just got back from classes, man,”The man sighs rubbing his forehead. “I’m half asleep and running 3 red bulls and a pack of saltine crackers.”
“Can we ask where you’re coming from?”Dick gave a charming gentle smile.
“The library.”
“I see, well we’re looking for a man dressed in all black with goggles with bright green lenses and black hair. He was sporting tech wear. You can give the police a call if you see anything?” Tim pulled out one of Greyson’s cards after he spoke. “We’re working with Detective Greyson at the moment for any leads so you can call the precinct if you see anything.”
The man took the card tossing it over his shoulder.
“ACAB, so can I sleep now? Or are we going to be playing a fun little game of 20 questions with me being the epicenter of the bats hyperfixations.”
“Ah… no, not at all. Have good night,”Dick stated as Tim was trying not to laugh as the man grabbing him grappling them up onto the roof. It was silent as they got a few blocks away before Tim burst out laughing.
“He just…”another laugh,”YEET!” Mimicking the card being thrown over his shoulder.
“That kid is suspicious.” Dick huffed maybe a little salty his normal charms didn’t work on him.
“He’s sassy not suspicious.”
“But his body temperature was—“
“He’s probably a meta Nightwing. Don’t tell the bats that you’re a meta, remember? It’s kind of Batman’s whole reason for keeping the city the way that it is, to protect metas.”
“You’re right.”
“I know. The kid looked exhausted the only thing I picked up from him was that he was beyond annoyed that he had to wait a second longer to go to bed. It’s,”he paused to look at his wrist. “2am.” A pause. If we was a student the mostly likely place he would have been would be the library. Even if you were walking from Gotham U library or a cafe it wouldn’t have taken you two hours to get where they were.” The library and most cafes closed at 11 or midnight.
“What did you realize? You’re smile fell.”
“The university library closes at midnight.”
“Okay and?”
“And this part of town is only a 45 minute walk from the library.”
“Is he our culprit they both have black hair. Could be especially if he’s a Meta explain why he was able to get away from us so fast.”
“I doubt it, that kid looked… sickly to say the least, but he was definitively hiding something.”
“So what was he hiding that he didn’t want the bats to know?
By the time they made it back to the alleyway the mysterious kid was gone.
“Dammit!”Tim exclaimed. This case was frustrating. Everything was going wrong.
“Look we at least know one thing right?” Dick was trying to make light of the situation. “He goes to Gotham U.”
“Dick.. we’re going to find hundreds of people who fall under the broad category. Let’s search “Black hair blue eyes” into the student database and see how many we come up. Let alone the fact that black might not be his natural hair color.”
“Hood could find him…”
“No, Hood has enough on his plate with these murders finding a homeless kid is not part of the problem at hand. The dude didn’t hurt anyone.”
“But if we run into him again,”Dick stared at the quickly disassembled bed the few ratty sheets now gone. “Do you think we could get him to the hospital for some help? Meta or not his readings were… rough.”
“We can’t force people into getting help all the time. It’s one thing for rogue’s who are more than a little insane but a guy who’s sick in the alley way?” Tim shook his head with a sigh rubbing the back of his neck. “We’d be chasing after half of Gotham.”
Tim rubbed his forehead a little frustrated with the general turn of events going on right now. Why couldn’t he get a lead on this fucker. He doubted that googles person would be much help. They looked like an investigator themself but at this point it was a lead and Tim was desperate. Each murder was more gruesome than the last like they were pushing their victims and themselves every time they did it. It had to have been a beast right?
“We need to find the masked person…”
“Yeah no I agree. Whatever they pulled off the body they were looking for that. They knew it would be there.”
“Think he’s the murderer?”
“Probably not, but they seem to know more than us which is concerning in its own right.”
“Not wrong there little bird.” Dick sighed. “We should leave. Head back to the cave.”
“Best, I have too many classes in the morning.”
“You have coffee addiction, you’ll be fine.” Dick smirked as they started back towards the cave moving to write a report of what they encountered on their patrol.
“You trying to feed my coffee addiction?”
“Absolutely not, B might kill me with that one,”Dick snorted.
It wasn’t as if Tim could sleep even as they got back to the manor to crash for night after writing their reports. He remained long after Dick had gone to get some sleep. Eyes focused on the screen and then down at his drawing in front of him. A rough sketch of the new person of interest.
Those eerie glowing goggles were stained into his mind as he leaned back in his chair looking at the file they had created for him.
Name: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Height:5’3 ~
Weight: 115-130lbs~
Appearance: Black hair in black tech wear and a respirator over his mouth and glowing green lensed goggles. White motifs along the outfit with a white D symbol over the left side of the chest.
Status: Unknown
Alignment: Unknown
All these unknowns. How were they supposed to figure it out. He had to meet this person again. He had to find them. He didn’t have a choice. This person was a key in his case. He sent a text to Jason.
“Keep an eye out for a guy that roughly looks like this” He sent an attachment of the drawing he did of the rough outfit in greyscale and what he saw.
“Oh… I know that dude. The people called him Distortion.”
What?
Jason knew of him? How did?
“How?” Cue Tim’s annoyed thoughts at how Jason didn’t care to share this information with them. Any of them. “And you didn’t think a new body on the streets who has a name wasn’t something you wanted to share with the class?!?”
More little bubbles as he was typing.
“He belongs to me that’s all you need to know. He’s an associate. A valuable acquaintance.”
“Well your associate was found removing evidence from my crime scene and bolting.”
“Need to know basis, Tim.”
“Do you know his identity?”
“No.”
“Age?”
“Yes.”
“Can i have it?”
“Absolutely not. He doesn’t want to be involved with the Bats or on your radar. I’d advise deleting the file you’re creating on him. He doesn’t take well to being on record right now.”
“Why?”
“Don’t know Don’t care but he’s incredibly useful and I’d like to keep him on our side and he was very hesitant on even coming to me. He only came to me because he’s operating out of my territory.”
“At least the guy has some respect.”
“He has street smarts. Now back off Tim. You know I let you in on a lot and that’s why I’m telling you this, but him? Distortion? Let him do his thing. If he tells me anything I’ll let you know.”
“What do you get out of this?”
“An investigator.”
“You have us?”
“Not all crime is big enough to involve the bats. Not all crime I can do all the work for for myself. He helps me out locating information and in exchange I leave him the fuck alone.”
Tim stared at the texts.
More typing bubbles.
“You tell Dick, Damian, or especially Bruce about this and I will rat you out for the Yelen case.”
Tim would be silent after all…
He stared at his doodle, ripping it up. It looked like shit anyways. He rubbed his face frustrated really as he made no changes to the file. Dick didn’t have to know about what he knew. This felt wrong to him though. Not just the whole Jason apparently knowing of the guy. If Jason knew of the guy but he remained under the radar of the rest of the bats it was concerning, and even as close as he was to Jason he wouldn’t put it past that guy to keep his issues to himself.
He always thought of himself really. First and foremost. It had been that way since his return mostly. It wasn’t like he never tried. Birthdays and holidays he’d show up. Tim wasn’t going to like that he noticed the mans change in demeanor the past year had done for him. A decrease in murders Jason committed in Crime Alley.
It was subtle enough unless you were looking for it, it wouldn’t be noticed, but tim did. Tim did notice. It reminded him of that breakdown he had a while ago. The anger returning to his brother like it had been there all along slowly increasing. The pit madness returning with a full force nearly driving Jason away from everyone. Jason wouldn’t talk about why the pit madness hit him so hard again.
He wasn’t exactly a feelings guy. None of them were. Dick was the most open of the Bat siblings to openly talk about their emotions and hell Duke had the most normal of a life before it all. Even he was hesitant. They all saw the Black Canary at least once every 6 months and that was only after a begrudging agreement with Black Lightning and the rest of the justice league. Most of they, themselves, weren’t involved in the justice league.
It was also why Cass and Steph being asked to go seemed to set him off. It wasn’t his place.
“He belongs to me..” Tim whispered out the words with a slight possessive tome looking at their texts chewing on his lip a little. A small habit he picked up when he was lost in thought and alone. Usually only when he was relaxed and with family. He couldn’t let people read his microexpressions out in public.
“For a solitary man, that’s quite a possessive statement Jason,”he mumbled into the batcave before standing up and walking up the stairs to his room. Not that he got much sleep either.

DP X DC prompt/headcanon: On school dropouts, nepo babies and sugar daddies.
Danny: "YOU'RE DROPPING OUT?! JUST LIKE THAT?!?!?" Tim: "Well yeah. I know the entire curriculum, memorised all of the material years ahead and the grade system is child's play." Danny: "But how will you get to college?" Tim: "I'm not going to college." Danny, who've been working day and night to get the best education to achieve his dream, despite being a teen vigilante and a hunted ghost: "WHAT???" Tim, nonchalantly: "Yeah It'd be useless. I may get a degree online if I feel like it but any knowledge you can get from the web if you know how to look." Danny: "But... But... How would you get a job?" Tim: Pffft, I'm already a co-CEO of Wayne Enterprises. And even if I stop doing that, Bruce can place me anywhere I'd decide with just his "Brucie smile."" Danny: sputtering indignantly Tim, flirty: "I can set you up too if you want." Danny, pouting: "Oh screw you, you fucking nepo baby! I would like to achieve my dream with my own effort thank you very much! I already have enough of you being my sugar daddy." Tim, still flirty: "But you love being my sugar baby~" Danny, blushing and still pouting: "Shut up!"
Author's note: At first I was like "what if Danny convinced Tim to finish his education?" But then I realized that i actually respect Tim's decision to drop out on his own terms. And then this much funnier idea came to mind. I headcanon that Danny actually likes to study if it comes to anything related to space (so physics, engineering and all that jazz), but due to his heroing activities (and ADHD) he's been struggling to keep up his grades in order to have a chance at still becoming an astronaut. So it would make sense for him to be mad at Tim for just... not finishing his education because he's already a genius and basically got his bright future handed to him on a silver platter. He still loves him, but he's not gonna be happy about it).

Danny knew there was something off about his husband.
Tim had been staring at thier wedding photos off and on all week. He had flaked out on date night, which was rare and he had always giving a valid reason as to why. Now he won't even have a full conversation with him. What was happening? Was he being mind controlled? Blackmailed? Was he bugged? Was this a clone?
No, no. He wasn't being mind controled, he had none of the symptoms. He wasn't being blackmailed nor was he bugged, he didn't give any of thier code words for those things and a DNA sample showed he wasn't a clone
It wasn't long before he got his answer though. Danny felt tears stream down his face as he stared at the box his husband had given him. The fancy toaster displayed on the box stared back up at him innocently. So this was why. He didn't look up at Tim as he just made his way to thier bedroom and locked the door.
He needed to start packing.
----
This wasn't the first time Tim had time traveled, but finding himself in the future inside his future selfs body was weird.
Tim was confused. He had noticed the kitchen had lacked a toaster and fully acknowledging he had been kinda crappy to his future husband- God that was weird to think about- he decided to give him a gift as an apology.
Unfortunately the moment he saw the toaster sitting on the table in its box, Danny had started crying. Tim didn't know what he did wrong and his husband didn't even seem to hear him as he walked away.
After being met with a locked door Tim decided to give him space and look for answers in the computer in thier shared underground secret lab.
As it turns out, Danny has a lot of childhood trauma centered around toast. That's right. Toast.
He and his older sister were born to two absolutely insane scientists who seemed to actually forget they had children whenever they worked on a project, which was all the time. As a result these two children were left to find for themselves with little money and no idea how to cook.
So they made toast. Lots and lots of toast. Breakfast? Toast. Lunch? Toast. Dinner? Toast. So much freaking toast. School lunches were a godsend.
Danny had told Tim near the beginning of thier marriage that if he ever stopped loving him that he should just give him a toaster. Danny wouldn't ask questions and wouldn't ask for anything that wasn't his in the divorce, he would just pack up and leave.
After reading this Tim jumped out of his chair like it had shocked him and raced up the stairs.
He was too late. Danny was gone.
