The Eclipse is for the queers.
The Eclipse is for the queers who are fighting. The ones who are out and proud and have no other choice but to push against the hatred.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are too afraid to fight. The ones who are out and scared and can only watch from a distance.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are hiding. The ones who are fighting internally, who can only hope for a world where they can truly love.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are trying. The ones who fake a smile and try to lift everyone else up, when they can't really carry themselves.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for the queers who are faking. The ones who wish to be themselves but believe success is a bigger cause than happiness.
Tumblr media
The Eclipse is for queers, the proof that we can all make it.

It's the tiny joy they can share when they're together and alone, the way they both just want to be together, want to be alone, how happy they are in their own little world only to always be reminded that the world itself is out there, waiting for them, waiting to hurt them again and again.
And their retreat grows smaller every time, shorter each time they find it, a fleeting smile, a moment of comfort, only to be shattered time and time again.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Submitted Reasons Under Cut]
Taekyung: "His sheer honesty in every situation is everything and lowkey how everyone fell in love with him"
Thua: "morals of steel likes talking to his crush over text it's all very sexy"

Please thua reading ayan's uncle's diary and casually saying he used that against them as if that wasn't the most invasive and disrespectful thing ever. I understand him wanting the truth to come out but outing Ayan and akk, using dika's diary and weaponizing ayan's hurt was NOT the way to go about it

I caught up with Our Skyy 2 x The Eclipse, episode 2, late last night. I likely won’t have time to write more about it, but I just want to say:
I love that Akk and Ayan’s relationship storyline ended wonderfully imperfectly — both physically (possible separation) and emotionally (clearly a lot of jives and vibes to be ironed out).
That was an utterly fabulous move on Golf’s end to leave their relationship so OPEN to growth, that we as viewers could really VISCERALLY imagine what the road of their relationship COULD look like — all the bumps and the smooth paths forward. We got such a deep sense of their character personalities that we can really imagine the trials and tribulations that they’ll face in their future
Genius art. And so beautifully balanced. The commentary about the pressures that we face, no matter WHAT KIND OF PERSON WE ARE — intro- or extrospective, giving or demanding — was so predictive to the roads that Golf was indicating for all their characters.
I LOVED THE OPEN-ENDEDNESS OF IT ALL. OF COURSE this epilogue would end open-ended. Because the lives of teenagers, who are about to embark fully on their adult lives, are only just beginning. No way was this an end for any of these characters— it was just the start for all of them.

I feel like it was forgotten this last episode, but Akk is a scholarship student, like this whole manipulation he has been under by the power figures at school were not only ideological for him, like it was for everyone else. Not doing what he was told, not being the student prefect the school needed, it would result in actual financial consequences for him.
He is an outsider to the school, he has no support system outside of his friends, he is in a private rich kid school in the capital so far away from his family, I just feel like a lot of the characters don't really see that it's not that easy for him to just admit the guilt of what he did under the pressure of chadok.
There are is even a scene about him getting university opportunities if he manages the problem at school, the series never focuses on his financial issues but he doesn't really have the option to just up and leave to another school like Ayan could, like Thua could.
There is a lack of nuance in this layer of the problem akk is facing, like what he did WAS WRONG, and there should be consequences, but I feel it's unfair for Thua to accept the consequences of his actions while forcing and exposing Akk to the same, knowing that the impact of the consequences for the same actions won't be the same on both of them
I just have a issue with a rich kid that did the same things as Akk exposing him for the actions he took under the pressure of a school he financial depends on while outing him publicly too

Read this post by @heretherebedork and was thinking about the symbolism of the colour red and it's use in The Eclipse. It's mostly Ayan's colour and the way they use it is so pretty! I think it represents the desire for change (and also just a little bit of a threat because Ayan is the threat of change).
We see that very explicitly here, where Ayan is both feeling some desire (he surely has to be, right? He's not interating with anyone else except Thua and he's certainly not flirting with Thua by any means) and is something that Akk wants but is fearful of the change necessary to get it.
Tumblr media
This is my favourite shot (and honestly the reason for this post, I saw it and went "oooooh") It perfectly frames him during his conversation with Thua. He is inciting the change.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Thua, Ayan's influence on Thua and his own desire for change are a wall that's coming between him and Kan. (It's right there in the subs 😐 Also them both reaching out their arms in this scene hhhhhhhh, I'll never recover. They both want to break through!!)
Tumblr media
The symbolism just starts comin' and it don't stop comin'. He's like a prophet for change.
Tumblr media
Also the blood, Ayan being the one to go touch it, and heavily influencing the riot boys.
Tumblr media
Also his murder board supplies all being red, which really contrasts with the utter lack of red in Ayan's personal life. His bedroom is all blue and brown, and two of the tshirts he's worn have also been blue, brown, and white stripes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also to point out that when Wat is talking about his new camera and his desire for studying Communication Arts which he can't do because of his family, he's also wearing red.
Tumblr media
I wonder what next week will bring..

wait bro I'm so mad ok I was just thinking about the eclipse again and I just realized that Thua does his little "coming out requires courage and support" speech in front of Akk and Ayan after he fucking outed them just like an episode or two earlier???? I fucking hate this so much I think Akk should've punched him then and there holy shit how did I not realize that sooner
like he outs them in an already hostile situation and then gets to go around acting like he isnt the asshole in this and then he fucking shows up at Akk's house and thinks he gets to stand there and hold hands with Kan and smile and talk about how "coming out doesn't just require our courage, we need an understanding and supportive community and family too" like he didnt rob two people who were supposed to be his friends of their moment in possibly the worst moment he could have chosen??? Thua is lucky Akk and Ayan are nicer than I am because I would have been so pissed (although if it were me thua would have been cut out of my life the second he did that shit and wouldn't even have been allowed at the house to begin with but that's just me I guess)
ok sorry for the rant I was just suddenly Having Thoughts about this and needed to get them out before I exploded lmao
YES EXACTLY, that's why I never understood people who defend thua. the entitlement to not only out them but then say coming out is hard but important??? while getting to come out on his own terms??? and being the one who acts mad at akkayan??? they gave thua the audacity of a thousand white cishet men & it shows lmao, they really fucked up his character & I'll be forever mad 🥲

Thinking about Thua in those first three weeks of school before Ayan sitting without a deskmate. Thinking about his classmates knowing how responsible and smart he is and and making Thua the Class President. But still, still, they also know he's queer that's why no one dares to sit beside him. Thinking about Kan, who had been his closest friend in middle school, deliberately not sitting beside him. How Thua must have white-knuckled his way then, too, to seem calm and unaffected when the empty seat beside him marks him as the Other.

it's so interesting to me that thua wears earrings when he's not in school
suppalo has a strict "no accessories" policy, but even though someone has said something so ayan about both his hoodie and his necklace, no one has ever mentioned his earrings, so i feel like those don't really count or the teachers just don't care enough to monitor them
but thua wears them outside of school
he meets his mom in the cafe with ayan, and even if that isn't what thua expected to be doing, he never shies away from his mom while wearing them nor does she act like it's a surprise, which means that it isn't his mom that thua is hiding from
we know that thua is the "quiet, neutral, stay out of trouble and out of their way so they don't have anything to use against you" type of student, so is him not wearing earrings at school possibly a way for him to draw less attention to himself?
he knows people know/think/call him queer at school, but he never announces it through his appearance like the world remembers gang does, so is him not wearing earrings his way of making sure he doesn't give them any more of a reason to call out his queerness?

So we all agree Kan made him throw that ball to decide whether he's going to confess to him or not?

No one makes face like this because your crush won a chance to attend a protest and potentially get himself into trouble 😆
