“I’m wearing my dad’s old jacket which he hesitantly gave to me since apparently it’s too ’raggare’ for me. The scarf is my late grandma’s. The skirt is a second hand kids skirt. The pants are resized by me and my dear friend. And the shoes have gotten very slippery but I like to stuff the pant legs inside them. I pay attention to silhouettes and a general vibe and I’m inspired by noticing and combining.”

“Everything is thrifted, from the sporty heels to the bag and jacket. Nothing over $25! I wanted to go for a spring look with the pastel colors. I absolutely love the thrill of treasure hunting in a thrift/ vintage store, nothing beats the quality and uniqueness.“

Feeling My Water Sign
(Layers: pt 1)
I noticed all the layering happening at the Fashion Weeks. I’ve loved layers since the sixth grade when Annie Hall came to the Washington Square Mall stores in Evansville.
I think this is the first time I’ve ever worn the chiffon silk vintage swim cover-up I’ve been hoarding since 1992 and I LOVE IT.
The layers are: leggings, silk thing, dress, slouchie.
Worn 3/7/24 while visiting with friends on my porch.

I’ve been considering whether or not to join the video-based platform TikTok, so in contrast to that, here are some still images of my latest carvings. 😅
I’m working on a “fairy cottage” themed collection to print with next, and it’s always so exciting to see the how the stamps turn out. I’ll probably say this every time, but seeing the result after the effort is truly incredible and inspiring!
What images come to mind when you think of a fairy cottage?

About Thoughtful Threads Thursday!
I'd like to explore relevant topics connected to circulating fashion in a mindful way. This will be a new area of exploration for me, and I appreciate your patience as I scour the internet in search of useful ways to sustain our fashion choices and have fun while doing it.
This week, let's dive into an article I found on Sustainable Chic that highlights 11 used clothing apps we can consider for our second-hand selling and shopping experiences!
If you know of another that isn't mentioned on this list, leave me a note below!

Autumn in summer, and summer in autumn.
These pictures were taken on a cool (18°C) July day, when the only things reminding us of summer were the sunlight, the sky colour and the flowers. That day, I felt like dressing in autumn colours. Today, it's October 4th, but the temperature has reached 29°C, which is quite abnormal in Québec. Is it a bit concerning? Definitely. I guess it's once again my cue to encourage you to thrift durable things instead of buying new, at least, when you can. And durable means you can keep your loved things for a long time! I know we all have a big footprint on our poor planet, but we might as well try our best to reduce it in ways we can for the short time we are here.
Outfit rundown Apron dress: second-hand Pink House Turtleneck: second-hand Cecil McBee Bag: second-hand Emily Temple Cute Shoes: second-hand Queen Bee Spice rack brooch: handmade by me Fox pin: gift from Little Rose Planet Earrings: handmade from real nuts by a friend Pretzel: handmade from a real pretzel (Design Festa) Anko toast and basket brooches: Artists from Design Festa Ladybug on leaf brooch: gift from a friend Flowers are all from my flower comb/pins collection (no brand) Umbrella/parasol: some shop in Montreal over 10 years ago (I can't remember)

The Ultimate Guide to Grandmillennial Wedding Style: Classic Meets Contemporary!
Hey Tumblr fam! 💖
I know, I know, wedding planning can feel like a never-ending maze of choices. But have you ever considered going for a Grandmillennial Wedding Style? Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds! 🌸
Tumblr media
What's the Deal with Grandmillennial Style? Grandmillennial style is where your grandma’s timeless charm meets your modern sensibilities. Think of lace but with a touch of boho. Or, imagine vintage tableware serving fusion cuisine. It's basically a warm hug from the past, spiced up with today’s trends. Cool, right?
The Dress: It’s All in the Fabric When it comes to grandmillennial wedding dresses, the fabric is the MVP. Whether you go for lace, satin, or a blend, make sure it’s both comfortable and fabulous. After all, it’s your big day; you should feel like a queen. 👑
Silhouettes That Tell Stories Okay, let’s talk silhouettes. The ball gown might be classic, but have you considered a mermaid cut with antique lace? It’s like the ‘Little Mermaid’ met Jane Austen, and they decided to throw a party. 🎉
Details? Yes, Please! Embroidery, beadwork, or maybe even some family heirloom sewn into the hem? Little details like these add layers of stories to your outfit, making it more than just a dress. It becomes a narrative. 📖
Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize! From pearl necklaces to feathered hats, accessories are the icing on your grandmillennial cake. They add that oomph factor that turns heads and makes people go, "Wow, where’d she get that?"
Planning the Grandmillennial Wedding of Your Dreams Last but definitely not least, the planning. Think vintage décor, but with LED lights. Or a horse carriage that's, wait for it, eco-friendly! Yeah, it’s all possible.
Tumblr media
A Quick FAQ: What is Grandmillennial Style? It’s a blend of old-school charm and modern sensibilities.
Where Can I Find Inspiration? Pinterest, Instagram, and even your grandma’s photo albums!
How to Choose Fabrics? Go for comfort and chic, like lace or satin.
Any Planning Tips? Mix and match the old with the new. Think eco-friendly horse carriages!
Accessorizing Tips? Go for timeless pieces that can be family heirlooms.
Phew! That’s a lot, isn’t it? But hey, if you’re gonna do it, might as well go all in. So what are you waiting for? Dive into the world of Grandmillennial Wedding Style and make your special day uniquely you!

“I’m wearing a top I got in Mexico City, a scarf I thrifted as a skirt, and shoes I thrifted as well. The earrings are from a vendor at a Black Art Matterss event and the rest of the jewelry is from Harlem. My style is inspired by the 60s and 70s and West African funk artists of that time. I’m Cameroonian myself and my dad was wearing outfits you’d see on Soul Train or at the Summer of Soul during that time period but in Cameroon.”
