i have mixed feelings about the first episode
like, the animation is good, and i'm glad they were faithful to the art style. but the story!!! fam, the pace was phucked up. it's weird to complain about it but neku's not as much of an asshole in this adaptation. i couldn't really let go of this because neku's character arc was one of the best thing about the game. so if they couldn't show it properly, well. there were other changes too but i don't really mind them as much. i'm also aware that the game had like 3 weeks and there are only 12 (?) eps so they have to streamline the content. and maybe because this was more of an advertisement for the sequel game more than anything, but if people that knew nothing about the game watches this, they'd be confused af. it just doesn't work.
