The fact that I've seen people calling William Frankenstein an evil asshole for yelling at the creature when he was literally like six and the creature had just told William he was gonna take him away from his family forever is. So upsetting to me

WayV is not my ult unit and I don't watch all their content but I listen to all their songs and often watch their performances. These are just my impressions of Yangyang. More dedicated Wayzennies can correct me if I'm wrong.
Yangyang is not a popular WayV member yet (only Winwin and Ten are currently big in China) but he's a talented and reliable performer. He's WayV's best rapper and NCT's third strongest rapper. While I love Jaehyun's Lemonade whisper and Bring the Noize, he's currently more versatile and more confident as a vocalist?
Yangyang's also one of my WayV top three for stage performance. You said not to use personal preference but I don't have a bias in WayV so I watch each member with less emotional attachment.
I don't wanna compare and I'm not shading but within WayV, I think Yangyang is the only rapper with consistent and solid style. I can feel his confidence when he's rapping. Hendery has his moments but his rapping doesn't always stand out. Lucas has a rapper title too but his rapping sounds generic to me. If you haven't watched, here's WayV's performance at MAMA in 2019 https://youtu.be/oCNQ9mFibfQ
There's this part where Yangyang walked and performed along with Lucas and Ten. Yangyang impressed me with his stage presence even though he just debuted that year and had farless experience than Ten and Lucas. He was able to hold his own with the other two who are the group's stan attractors. Some people will disagree with me but I find Ten, Xiaojun and Yangyang the most outstanding performers in WayV. Please don't come at me but Winwin relies more on his popularity in China and Lucas on his international fanbase and former C fans. And while most people can't help but notice on Lucas on stage anyway, I think it's more from his looks or his center position rather than performance.
In New Axis, it will be difficult to not compare Yangyang to Taeyong and Mark, both great rappers and dancers who are already established in the fandom, but if we need a representative from WayV, Yangyang has both the rapping and dancing skills, if New Axis will have a performance at all. The guy's good at dancing. I also have no doubt he can do well in Universe. Ten (if he wasn't in China), Xiaojun and Yangyang would have been my WayV picks for Universe too.
Skill set aside, I agree about the European connection. When WayV was about to debut, Yangyang's solo teasers on YouTube were full of German comments. Idk if all those people were German for real but there must have been some German fans in there. And while this seems unrelated to WayV, Sticker actually charted for a few weeks on German music chart and NCT127 will stop in Berlin for their world tour. The New Axis line up might have been decided a long time ago but clearly, SM wants to expand the NCT brand in Europe and they will want to showcase Yangyang.
Btw, this is not about Yangyang anymore but the lack of Sungchan in New Axis got me wondering. I agree New Axis means a new unit, but why Sungchan, who should represent a new unit, not in the song for rappers? Are they saving him for something else? I don't really think they had time to record for a repackage but with SM, who knows 🤔

Thank you, anon.
I feel like you understimate how much SM can pack something in a short amount of time. Remember how Tae and Mark recorded for Super M in the morning and practiced for 127 in the evening. In 2020 Mark recorded songs and shows, learnt dances for 4 groups/units. Neozone+Final Round, Ridin', Super One, Resonance Pt1 and Pt2. Because of hair colour photoshoots and promo material are shot late, but songs can be recorded way in advance.
