Lee Minho is a morning person. He loves waking up early, making breakfast, playing with his sleepy cats, and watching movies. But most importantly, he loves kissing you awake.
Whenever the sunlight makes its way through the curtains and pries his eyelids open, Minho is more than happy to be greeted by your sleeping figure. It's the greatest way to start his day. He still remembers the first time you woke up next to each other—the day your little tradition began.
It was the morning after Minho had finally moved into your apartment. You had fallen asleep in your now shared bed, his arms embracing your body and pulling you to his chest. When he woke up, he had moved further away from you, not so much that you were no longer cuddling, but just enough so that he could see your face. The side of your face was buried into the pillow, squishing your lips into a slight pucker. Your hair was sticking out in multiple directions and your shirt was twisted. He thought it was the cutest sight in the world. Lord, he's whipped.
He watched your sleeping figure with so much love in his gaze, mapping out your entire face to store in his memory forever. As his eyes trailed over your every feature, they halted at your mouth, taking extra time to admire the curve of your cupid's bow.
Slowly, Minho found himself leaning in, pressing a kiss as light as air onto your soft lips. 'More,' he thought, 'I need more.' He moved his lips to the corner of your mouth, then to your cheek, then to your jaw, smothering your entire face in featherlight kisses.
"Baby, what are you doing?" you asked in a soft, sleepy voice. Minho had been pressing kisses to your collarbones at that point, but upon hearing your voice, he stopped and buried his face in your neck. Embarrassed, he mumbled, "Nothing..."
You giggled as he hid away and you teased him more. "Oh, you're just sooo in love with me aren't you?" Minho groaned. "You just have to kiss me 24/7, huh? You love me so much you can't keep your lips off me."
"Shut up, shut uppp," he whined into your neck, making you laugh even more.
"How about you make me?" You pulled him away from your neck, staring into his eyes as if challenging him to do something. He took you up on that challenge, crashing his lips into yours, shutting you up like you asked.
Ever since then, Minho has woken you up by peppering kisses all over you every morning with no fail. Sometimes, when you call him out on it, he'll just ignore you and continue kissing your body, too busy to do anything else.
It was a gloomy morning. In contrast to the bright, shining light that usually woke Minho up, the light pitter-patter of the raindrops on the window forced him out of his slumber. He opened his eyes to your back facing him. Your oversized shirt, which was originally his, was hanging off your shoulder, presenting him with a new opportunity. He pressed his lips to your bare shoulder, slowly trailing up to the back of your neck.
"Mmm, that tickles, baby," you whispered as he kissed the sensitive spot on your nape, but he wasn't paying attention to you, too preoccupied to process the words coming out of your mouth. Only after he was done pressing kisses to your backside did he greet you a good morning, but could you blame him? He just loves giving you kisses!
Every single day, Minho wakes up before you and peppers your face with several kisses like his life depends on it. At this point, it's become a necessity in your daily routine.
One morning, you miraculously woke up before your boyfriend. His hair was disheveled and his lips were parted ever so slightly. As he lay on his side, facing towards you, you couldn't help but notice his eyes. His long, pretty eyelashes were so perfectly scattered among his closed eyelids. You leaned in, your warm breath gently blowing against his lashes. You softly kissed under his eye, your lips tenderly brushing his face. Slowly, you peppered more kisses around his face, starting around his eyelids, then moving to his nose, then to the corner of his mouth. As you were about to connect your lips with his own, Minho opened his eyes, making contact with yours.
"Honey?" Your mouths were mere centimeters apart. "This is usually my job." You closed the gap and kissed him. Minho sighed sleepily into the kiss and you could feel a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Pulling away, you returned his smile. "I thought I'd mix things up," you kissed him again. "Why, do you not like it?"
Minho laughed a bit as you continued kissing around his face. "No, I don't like it," he said as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him. "I love it, and I love you."
This became your little tradition. Every morning, whoever woke up first would pepper kisses all over the other, starting the day with giddy smiles fixed on your faces. Even if you had fought the night before, it was all forgotten the moment you felt Minho's lips on your forehead, or the moment he felt your lips on his cheek.
Today, however, Minho woke up to your side of the bed empty. He furrowed his brows, disappointed at the unusual absence of the featherlight kisses all over his face. He dragged himself out of your shared bedroom, plodded around the apartment to look for you, and let himself fall back on the couch when he couldn't find you.
After about a half-hour, the front door opened and you entered your home, holding grocery bags in both hands. You set them down on the kitchen counter, peeking into the living room to see Minho watching something on the TV.
"Hi baby, did you sleep well?" You shouted from the kitchen, putting away the groceries. No response.
"Babe? Are you okay?" Nothing.
You walked over to where your boyfriend was sitting. His eyes were glued to the TV, not even sparing you a glance.
"Lee Minho," you said in a half-joking, half-serious voice, "did I do something wrong?"
Finally, he looked at you, lips contracting to a pout. He mumbled something so softly, you couldn't understand what he said. You sat next to him, taking one of his hands in your own. "Could you repeat that, baby? I can't hear you."
Pouting even harder, he repeated louder for you. "You didn't do the pepper thing."
You shot him a confused look, making him roll his eyes playfully. "The pepper my face with kisses thing! I woke up and you were gone, and you didn't give me any kisses at all."
You laughed incredulously. "Seriously, that's all you're sulking about?"
Unimpressed, Minho pulled his hand away from yours and crossed his arms. "It's a very serious matter, actually. You broke our morning tradition! You betrayed me!"
"I'm sorry for leaving without honoring our tradition," you smiled as he continued to pout at you, "but I went out to buy some ingredients so I could make breakfast for you. And, I even bought more of the new pudding you really like."
Though his eyes lit up at the mention of his favorite snack, a pout was still plastered on his face. "Okay, then. But you still have to make it up to me."
"Yeah? And how do you propose I do that?"
Minho looked you dead in the eye. "Do the pepper thing."
Still giggling, you placed your hands on either side of Minho's face, squeezing his cheeks and forcing his lips from a pout to a pucker. You kissed his forehead, then under each of his eyelids, then on the tip of his nose. "Feel better now?"
Shaking his head, Minho replied, "Not quite yet." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours. He pulled you by your waist, bringing you to his lap. You combed your fingers through his hair, tugging it slightly to tilt his head and deepen the kiss. When he pulled away from you, Minho had a lovesick expression written all over his face. "Now I feel better than ever."

How long do you plan making rekindled? I loved Lo at some point, But now I cant get enough of your version!! And I wanted to know how did you come up with the darker back stories for Rekindled?
I have a semi-detailed skeleton of the plot with basically every story beat planned out, but I can't definitively say how long it will be as I haven't actually scripted every single episode out yet.
Not to mention a lot of the time my scripts will change from their original versions, by the time I get to an episode I've planned ahead for I've either thought of new ways to do it or don't like how it's paced so I change it. Case in point, there was a specific scene I had planned for the next episode and then wound up not liking the pacing because it was too fast so I moved it to several episodes away and restructured everything on the fly, took a whole new text document and scrapping sketches to figure shit out LOL I actually do have up until Episode 70ish scripted out in my documents with like, actual notes and dialogue for each episode, but I already have sooo many of those crossed out now because of how much I've had to tweak and change as time has gone on. This is why I plan ahead well in advance though, so that if I do need to make those changes, I can make them long before the episodes are even due to be drawn (and believe me, they get changed during the sketching phases too LOL).
What I can confirm for certain is that the current 'arc' we're in right now is definitely the bulk of the story. And that's not to say there isn't any content afterwards, more like the pacing just gets completely turned on its head in the last 30-40% of it where shit gets N U T S and just can't go back to the same energy that it was in the beginning. Without spoiling, there's a certain 'turning point' in the plot and everything after it isn't quite as long as the stint of story we're in now. This is mostly because the arc we're currently in is still establishing a bunch of stuff like the Underworld Corp, Persephone's schooling, etc. and once that turning point hits, it's basically all character development and focusing on the consequences of everything setup in the first arc.
I guess if I had to illustrate it, the story progression in the end will look something like this?
Tumblr media
It's basically just this slow and chill climb that, once it hits that sharp peak, doesn't ever return to normal levels LMAO So I guess enjoy this part of the story while you can because it's the chillest it'll ever be w(°o°)w And boy, I am EXCITED for that peak, but we have a long way to go before we get there. As for how long, well, I'm hoping I'll be able to have Rekindled's story wrapped up in the next 2 years, tops. Just depends on how the update schedule goes, and assuming the plans I have put down for the plotting don't change in any major way. I don't have as much of the latter half of the story actually scripted out yet so for all I know it could wind up being way longer than anticipated, but right now I have a pretty good sense of how the story beats will play out in relation to each other.
So it's kind of a wait and see thing, at least until I have every episode scripted out, and even then I won't be 100% sure because things are always being tweaked and fixed and changed on the fly! I'm guessing it won't go much longer than 170 episodes, give or take, but that's a very very VERY rough estimate.
Regardless, Rekindled still has a lot more story to tell, and I'm hoping y'all enjoy the ride with me <3
As for the darker backstories, y'all don't even know yet. Like... I've got stuff planned. Stuff that even Banshriek (my BG assistant) doesn't know about. Stuff that I keep buried very deep in Rekindled's episode documents that won't see the light of day until they have to be ripped out of the deep dark trenches of the characters' own buried secrets, and by that point, the toothpaste will be out of the tube, there will be no going back. So, again... enjoy it while it lasts. Because I don't pull my punches. And maybe even you won't be able to look at me the same way again once the final blow has been dealt.
Sleep well.
:)

When looking across vampire fiction, what traits do you personally find essential to good vampire vibes? What can't be taken away without it no longer being a vampire (in your mind, regardless of the actual lore)? Could a vampire survive on human food? Could vampirism not be transmissible? Could every vampire walk in the sun?
BOY, OH BOY I FUCKING LOVE THIS QUESTION!
I would call myself a vampire traditionalist, but that doesn't mean I don't think people can have fun with it! I think the main thing is that every change or alteration of vampiric rules should serve to support the underlying themes of vampirism in the media.
What's a good example of this? Funny enough? Twilight. Everyone makes fun of the vampires sparkling, but there's a ton of weird shit in vampire canon. People thought that it "ruined the dangerousness of vampires" but Twilight has the theme that vampires are beautiful because that's how they get to kill people. Edward is a diamond encrusted monster. This also goes to show that the themes don't have to be super deep they just have to BE THERE.
The best thing about this method of sticking to a theme is even if the vampires don't end up COMPLETELY feeling like vampires, you have a justification. I know this one anime where they had a lot of original vampire lore, and while if done differently I'd scorn it, I think it was nice! Not refreshing--I detest the idea that the concepts of vampires have gotten stale because the idea is timeless, pun intended--but an enjoyable and creative take on the idea.
I personally like the idea that vampires CAN eat food it just does nothing for them. I've seen media where eating normal food makes them sick and personally I don't enjoy it. Vampires being able to safely drink things is a good compromise, and I love the idea of vampires still drinking wine.
There are certain changes that I will not tolerate. I once read a book where vampires didn't bite people. That's fucking stupid. The-- The whole goddamn point of vampires is that they bite people. Take that away, and what the fuck are they? Fucking??? pale elves???
The sun thing is actually so interesting to me because originally vampires were just weakened by the sun, not killed by it. That's why things like Edward sparkling doesn't bother me.
Another important thing is to keep the themes of consumption and to keep the gothic elements. "What if I want to write modern vampires?" Go ahead, you just have to be careful. Think of all the vampire media that used them in a highschool setting. It IS vampires, but doesn't it feel cheap? Where's all the concern about getting eaten alive? Where's the FLAVOR? Again Twilight is an exception. Say what you want about Twilight, but Stephanie wrote Twilight genuinely. She didn't write it because she thought it'd make money, nor did she do it because it was trendy. Bitch just liked vampires, and because of that Twilight works SOOO much better than media it inspired.
The theme of consumption is so important though. Is blood drinking a metaphor for addiction, sin, lust? Is it akin to love? Do people devour each other like kisses??? Vampires were the OG tumblr post about cannibalism.
Vampirism not being transmittable... is. quirky. I guess then they would just be a species? But that takes away so much from their canon. One of the pillars of their lore is they are something once human, no more. Something so twisted, yet so similar to the idea of humanity. Vampires mirror us, at the price of never mirroring themselves.
I love going into the idea that vampires think themselves better than humans but you can SEE it in their eyes that they were human once. Their entire idea of life and power and greatness is formed by their human existence. They can't run away from it. It's like hating your inner child. OH SHITTT IM GONNA SMACK GRIMOIRE WITH THAT SO TRUE ME
Anyway thanks for this question!

Hello! I’ve never done this before so if this suck you can absolutely skip this. (I did make sure to read your rules and I hope I didn’t break any of them.)
How about a fluff of Jack and Deuce (separate) where the reader is an artist that wants to use their hands as reference to practice since they think that their hands look very expressive? And maybe y/n ends up wanting to draw them as a whole afterwards.
Like I said, you can skip this if you want but Thank you for your time! ^^
author's note: AAAA Thank you so much for this request anon!! I loved writing it, it's a really original idea and I also love the characters you requested sooo double win! I hope you like it <3 (also dw, you didn't break any rules)Characters may be OOC, Jack's part is a bit longer than Deuce's.
content warnings: none

Being an artist in Twisted Wonderland was probably the best thing that could ever happen in your life. Since you have been transported to the new world you have never lacked the desire to portray everything of this world that always fascinates you.
Your artistic skills have also been a big help for other people like Azul and the Leech twins, who asked for your thoughts and opinions about their menu's design, and to the students who are in charge of the costumes and backstage work in the film research club.
You're laying on the bed of your room in ramshackle, thinking about the amount of time you spent in twisted wonderland, its people. Your mind then immediately wanders to your home, your world.
When will you be able to return to the place you really belong to?
You immediately cast these thoughts out of your mind.
Being depressed won't change the situation you're in.
To distract yourself, you decide to focus on what you love doing: drawing.
You open the bedside drawer next to you and take a sketchbook and a pencil to get started, you then grab your phone and make your way towards a desk near the window of the room where you usually spend your time drawing or doing your homework.
You look out of your window to find new things to draw but there aren't any, just the same trees and flowers...sure, at first it was nice drawing them but after a while anyone would get tired of portraying the same scenery. You sigh and grab your things, ready to go out and find something or someone to sketch.
You start walking around the school to find inspiration and you finally find it when you come across the track and field club or rather a member of it: Jack.
You watch as he plays on the field of the track club and you can't seem to pull your eyes away from him, almost mesmerized by his energy. You slowly start to sit down on the ground and open your notebook, your gaze never leaving Jack's figure.
Your attention shifts on his hands, you always liked his hands and thought they are very expressive and without thinking about it you start to sketch them in different ways. When you tear you eyes away from your drawings and look towards the field once again, you find jack staring at you.
For a moment you don't know what to do, but then he waves at you with an almost unnoticable smile on his lips.
Your heart skipping a beat and you swear that blood rushed to your face, making it hot and red. After a few seconds of you trying to recover from the shock, you smile back at him, returning the greeting and Jack goes back to the other members of the club to continue his game.
You follow with your gaze the figure of the boy who hoes back to his club activities amd you can't help but think of his delicate smile that he showed you earlier. Your heart skips a beat again and you start drawing his face on the white paper, with the intention of portraying not only Jack, but also the deep feelings you have for him.
Tumblr media
"Is there something wrong with my hands?" Deuce asks in the cafeteria while you, him, Ace and Grim were sitting together, eating your lunch.
You've been staring at his hands since the moment you sat down across from him with a noticeable interest and a bit of intensity, but you can't help it! The reason is that you have been practicing drawing hands for a long time, but recently the practice is not going well and the results are not what you quite expected and the pile of tattered and rolled up drawing paper in the trash can of your dorm can testify your failed experiments of drawing human anatomy. So you've been thinking about using someone's hands as a refernce.
You've always liked Deuce's hands and you tought they would be the perfect reference for your drawings. You just had to find a good way to ask him if you could his hands as a model.
"It's just that recently I've been trying to practice my drawing skills, to be more specific, I'm practicing drawing hands but I'm...uh...quite failing at it ahah" akward ass laugh.
Deuce looks at you for a few seconds and his gaze moves to his hands and then to you again, this continues for a few seconds before he asks in an almost embarassed way:
"Would you..like to use my hands as a reference then?"
Hard to believe, but Deuce understood your intentions.
At this point we might as well believe that the end of the world is coming
You immediately accept his help with a big grin on your face and literally DRAG HIM out of the cafeteria when you finish eating, not even caring about ace who was still sitting at the table drowning in his food.
After successfully finding a bench to sit on, you open your notebook and grab your pencil (two items you won't leave your house without) and start sketching using deuce's hands as a reference.
While drawing you explain to Deuce all your drawing techniques and show many of your sketches in the album, which receive many compliments and positive comments from the blue-haired boy. You also explain to him that you were hoping he would offer you help in your attempts of drawing hands, as you particularly appreciate the expressiveness that his hands have, and you swear that you've seen the tip of his ears turn a bit red.
You didn't mind it and kept drawing until you both had to back to class, promising to each other that you would spend more time together to practice.
Before parting ways you gave him one of the drawings you did of his hands, something he would cherish forever.

Happy Storyteller Saturday!
When you finish a first draft, how does it look? Is it readable or does it have more holes than a swiss cheese? What are your next steps, and how much changes?
Hey Elli! Happy STS!
First of all - I believe every idea is at least somewhat salvageable. I hope to one day get to the point where I somehow managed to adapt the short stories I "wrote" when I was in kindergarten.
Okay my first drafts are...weird. They differ greatly from most people. Let's talk about a few examples so I can explain.
The Secret Portal
Started as a school project in fourth grade (age 10). It is readable but it's so silly. Mainly because I was ten. I've somehow managed to string it together into what it is now but the first act is the only recognizable thing.
The second version of TSP I wrote over a year later. My first step was to make it longer and have chapters. That was about it.
The third version was about a year after that. I decided I didn't like my story ideas to be stretched out across a whole book, so I combined the first two books into one. I alternated the POV and worked more on the details. My descriptions and characterization was better, though I was constrained by the limitations of following the older drafts.
The fourth version was a year and a half after that. We're nearing the end of eighth grade - I'm 14. I'd done a lot of other writing but I decided to go back to TSP. This time, I had full scenes and character introductions and even a halfway decent (emphasis) prologue. Pacing was getting better, and the story beats made more sense. I alternated POV, but realized the need for it being very deliberate whose perspective I was in.
One hole I figured out was how to differentiate my heroes and villains. Jedi and Carmen originated as villain roles but when I thought about it making them good, or honestly extremely morally gray, made a lot more sense. I soon developed a plot, a world, character arcs...
While I refer to all of it as Draft Four, I kept up with this version for so long there are technically multiple drafts of TSP in this section. I didn't start the document over until 2021.
How did I go on from here? Well, I focused on refining story beats. Characters and their voices. General pacing and descriptions. World building.
So definitely not a traditional process lol.
More detailed behind the scenes is linked in my intro post
School of the Legends
I basically hit the reset button every time. I had the idea of "fairy tale retelling" for years.
For SOTL, I did write a dual first person POV short story with Úrsula and Beau and discover third person worked better. But as SOTL it technically only has five chapters drafted. I'd say that just tossing out everything worked here.
Other
Most of the others I wrote as a kid and as I grew older I modified it to my current maturity level, taking the same plot points and fleshing them out. When I was 13+ I started outlining and planning more details and characters. More plot twists and arcs.
Sooo I don't really have the typical first draft experience. Essentially what I do is this:
Nothing is unsalvageable.
Figure out what is salvageable.
Write down ideas I have during reading old drafts.
Identify the holes.
Figure out how to fill the holes/brainstorm
Figure out everything you still don't know
???
Profit
Hope this was a satisfactory answer lol

Sooo, I’m not sure if this will make you feel any better about the whole poll drama disappointment, but I thought I’d let you know where I think some of this may have originated from and why I think the bots rumor started rather than there actually being bots (though I will get to that too).
(as a disclaimer: I’m speaking only from what I’ve seen from my neck of the (kylux) fandom woods; there could absolutely be other people involved that I’ve simply seen nothing from)
A person, who happens to ship kylux but has promoted to all fandoms with that character, has been having fun with the ‘hottest SW man poll’. They’ve been reblogging links to it along with entertaining little edits to promote their favorite character with the hope of getting people to take part in the vote. Now obviously they’re voting for that character themself, but anyone who happens to see the post are no more obligated than anyone else who reblogs/sees the poll to vote for that person’s preference. (I’m a kyluxer too, and I love both of them, but despite the promotions I still didn’t vote for him because that’s not my opinion for ‘hottest SW man’) And I don’t know about you, but I’m sure there have been many people, myself included, who have voted in a poll someone they follow reblogged for something that person liked and, despite not having a stake in it personally, cast said vote in deference to them. I’m sure that happened in some cases with this situation, however I’m also sure part of what happened is that fans who’d have otherwise never seen the poll were able to cast their vote (I’m in this category as I don’t follow these sorts of blogs at all), as well as – because it was put out in a fun, silly way – led them to vote when they might not have cared to bother otherwise.
Now, I do agree it’s kinda stretching the general spirit of these polls, however what they’ve been doing is only really different in that they’ve been adding character edits along with multiple reblogs in an attempt to make it a silly little attention-grabbing promotion thing rather than merely a reblog or two of the poll. Again, I do think it’s been a bit much, but I will say I can appreciate the enthusiasm of someone who thought they were having fun in their fandom with a simple ‘for fun’ fandom related poll. Another consideration to make is that this person might be new to these things (and/or tumblr in general), which could be a reason for it as well. Plus, different people are going to react to and participate in things in different ways, and sometimes those ways differ from the norm enough to cause a stir despite no ill will or actual ‘rule breaking’ meant.
Nevertheless, that isn’t botting. I can see why people might feel it’s a little unfair even if it’s only exaggerating behavior people already naturally have with polls. I can also certainly understand why it could lead to some people getting rubbed the wrong way and then feeling upset, thus further leading to a sense of drama and subsequent botting rumors (and the origin person being a kylux shipper leading to the kylux fandom as a whole being scapegoated). But still, that’s not the same as botting. In the end, neither you nor anyone else are obligated to no longer be upset simply because of this explanation. That’s your right and you don’t have to like this any more than genuine botting, I just wanted to clarify a potential source.
However, if there IS real botting, that’s indeed an absurd thing for someone to be doing for a simple poll. Perhaps someone got out of hand because of the above person’s promoting; perhaps it’s just a rumor started because some people simply weren’t expecting the character to receive enough votes to persist in the poll – and hey, everyone’s got their own preferences and opinions on ‘hotness’, but the fact a character some don’t think should be lingering over others has endured so long doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a conspiracy. Of course, I’m sure there are people who also have their own opinions on what might constitute ‘botting’ and have considered what I described to be in that category. Which is totally fine too. I personally disagree, but that’s merely my opinion and no one else has to accept it. For the most part, I merely believe this was a situation that got a little out of hand and led to a bit of drama that’s now negatively painting people who meant no harm – because it IS just a fun little fandom poll.
As for the numbers bumping in seemingly large chunks upon refreshing (I don’t even know how you could see individual numbers for an individual character???), I can only guess at how these polls bring in the numbers in order to calculate percentages, both continuous and final. Is it in delayed chunks? Is it really one by one by one exactness??? Perhaps a combination of both, somehow??? While on your end it might appear to be an immediate change after your vote (so a one by one idea), upon a refresh it might ACTUALLY be registering assorted votes in collected chunks, altering the newly refreshed percentage in a way that might seem huge based on what it was before/after your vote, but actually isn’t due to a collected recalculation of ALL new votes. And by individual character numbers, I’m not talking about that character's percentage, which is a percentage of a whole being recalculated upon that refresh. A whole which shifts percentages up and down throughout as the vote total increases regardless of minutes or hours. For a long-term example: he could be at a 13% high at one point because a number of that character’s voters voted around that time, heightening his numbers amongst the pool of votes, then a few hours later is at a 5% low because even more overall votes have come in since and his were few to none, and then later up to 9% as another batch of his voter’s participated. These ‘batches’ ostensibly have more to do with time zones/people online seeing the poll post and not botting. And in the short term you can apply this concept but with the ‘batches’ being overall votes that happen to have some chunks for that character mixed in.
Honestly, I don’t know if any of that is fully true or not; I’m just going off general observation of the polls and vaguely educated(?) guesswork. I could be totally wrong and that stupidly long paragraph is nonsense. Really this whole seemingly suspicious numbers thing is something I’d not seen or heard about at all until your post, so...I’ve no idea there. If botting is happening, and someone did get out of hand with this, I think it’s likely piggybacking off this above person’s attempt at fun engagement, thus tainting and casting blame on said person and, in particular, their ship fandom (which is quite unfair as not all his fans come from kylux, or even from pairings to begin with). And if there isn’t botting and it’s all a misunderstanding, then it’s still doing that to this person and the kylux fandom because of people’s upset and blame shifting onto the biggest pairing he’s in. Either way, it’s just a really unfortunate turn of events. (of course, I’m still merely speaking from my neck of the woods, there could be other stuff going on outside it that I don’t know anything about.)
In short, I suppose I just wanted to say: hey, it’s sad to see you (and others) feeling upset or disheartened by potential botting in a simple SW fandom poll with the potential origin being a kyluxer, and maybe this could help at least give you a different viewpoint and understanding of what might be going on behind the scenes. Still, yet again, neither you nor anyone else has to care about or agree with anything I’ve said, I simply felt a desire to do so as a follower of you, awareness of this poll, and a kyluxer myself.
So first off, I do appreciate your thoughtful response! And I'll clarify a bit on what I was talking about and why I made the statement. Now I will admit that I do not have 100% concrete proof of anything, what I have is my own observations, those observations confirmed by others, plus some information that is admittedly rumour, but is from people I trust who aren't the type to start shit and wouldn't say anything unless it was something they'd personally seen or had no reason to doubt
And I don't think recruiting friends outside the fandom to vote is botting or any other kind of cheating - it's not, everyone does that, I don't think that's an issue at all and is within fairness. What I'm talking about is actual botting, using fake accounts to vote. Which, if you have either the programming know how or a bit of money to pay for a bot that's pre-made, is a lot easier than people think it is. I know how one could do it manually, but I do not know enough about programming to automate it (and I won't explain how, because then it might give more people ideas lmao). I don't think this is widespread either, like one single person with the know how can 100% make hundreds accounts and have them vote within a few minutes. And, if they've ever botted a poll before, it's even faster because the accounts may have already been made
So it started with me watching the poll near the end (I voted within the first couple hours of it being posted, but I was curious how it would turn out). I refreshed with 45-60 minutes left and saw 'oh Hux is gonna lose, okay, too bad but it is what it is' because he was at ~8% and the next lowest was Anakin, who was just under 12%. As the time ticked down, I refreshed again and saw a sudden shift, which surprised me. At that point, I started refreshing every minute or so because it kept going, every refresh was a big jump even at that frequency. Within less than 10 minutes (I don't recall the exact timeframe, but it was very fast, too fast), the total vote count had increased by about 300 or so and I watched it surge with every refresh. The vast majority of these votes, if not all of them, were for Hux as his percentage was the only one that increased significantly (the rest increased by less than a full percentage point, if they didn't decrease)
So while you can't see how many votes went for each person, polls do have the total vote count at the bottom and you can see the percentages, so you can tell if there's a sudden increase in overall votes and if those affect on particular vote choice more than any other. Which is why I found this suspicious because that many votes, that quickly, overwhelmingly for one option, it's highly unlikely it was done by real humans. Plus, we've all seen what happens with big polls both here and on twitter - people have literally paid like $200 to bot polls before and it seems sadly to just be becoming something people do
After I saw that jump, I went and talked to some friends in a private discord we use for chatting and some of them, too, had been watching the poll and having similar suspicions to myself. A more tech-savvy one said this is the kind of increases that are consistent with the use of bots. A couple of people also mentioned they had heard people talking about botting, but weren't sure if that was a joke or not (and it may have been, even if there was botting, it may not have been these people). I can't reveal much more without compromising the identities of my friends, who didn't want to speak out about their suspicions because they don't want to get targeted or anything. I am far beyond caring about that lmao, so I chose to say something about it because idk this kind of thing just really irritates me and as a kyluxer for a very long time, I feel like it's the duty of people in a fandom to call out bad behaviour of our fellows in a rational, non-harassing way
Now, again, I admit none of this is concrete proof. And if I'm wrong and everything was above board and someone did manage to conjure a few hundred people all at the same time at the last minute, well, that's genuinely miraculous like unbelievably so lmao, so good for them. If so, I'll rescind the post, apologize, and go back to having fun. But from the pov of statistics, what I saw myself, what my friends saw, and the added rumours, like. I have to say that actual botting seems far more likely to me. You're welcome to disagree, or think this isn't enough evidence to say it for sure happened, but I wanted to say something regardless because if someone is botting, or even just thinking about it, maybe pointing it out will shame them into stopping so we can go back to having fun
I hope you're right and it wasn't happening, and hell, it may not have even been a kyluxer if it was (there are non-kylux Hux fans out there), but I just find it hard to believe it wasn't happening at this point between what I saw, what others saw, and what I heard. And I think it's better to point out fandom bad behaviour than let it continue unchecked. I refuse to let that kinda shit happen if I can do something about it

Who tf is Kaito Shinonome (Part 8)
My interpretations/headcanons (cont.):
Dracmon already reached his Adult/Champion stage before meeting Kaito
I actually wanted to include this in a longer post detailing each of the partnerships the kids have with their digimon, but FUCK IT I’m going to write about it here first
Champion stages are called “Adult” stages in the original Japanese, following Rookie stages (“Child” in the original Japanese)
This is meant to symbolize “growing up”
Adult stage digimon tend to… y’know… act like adults compared to the more childlike Child stages
Compare Angemon and Patamon, for one of the more extreme examples
Dracmon already had his Adult stage unlocked, because this reflects the fact that Kaito already had to “be an adult” once in his life (and still kinda does now, with the way he treats Miu “like her dad”)
You could argue that Ryo also had to grow up fast after losing his mother (and possibly Saki, too, with her own complications)
But I think the difference is that Ryo responded to his Life Changing Incident by becoming withdrawn and depressed, while Saki became rebellious and “spoiled” (she’s not actually, but she does what she can to get what she wants)
But Kaito responded by becoming independent, not trusting others to take care of him, and deciding that his own needs were unimportant compared to Miu’s
Another hint is that when Takuma first meets him, he thought Kaito “was an adult”
Does that mean Dracmon evolved randomly one day?? …That would be hilarious, but tbh I don’t know
I don’t know the exact mechanics behind evolution among bonded digimon -- do they need their partner physically with them to evolve? Maybe Dracmon just had it unlocked but couldn’t access it without meeting Kaito?
He just meets Kaito that day in Part 3, and he’s like, “I don’t know why, but I have an intense urge to howl at the moon”
He likes cute things
There’s a dialogue option you can choose where he’ll go on a looong spiel about how adorable he thinks Miu is
Sooo… cute things probably remind him of her, and he loves Miu, so by association, he likes cute things
That has been my scientific analysis thank you for reading
He fell for the fake Dracmon in the waterways at first for like 0.001 seconds until the fake Dracmon talked a bit too much shit with no actual sass, and he was like, “... You’re not Dracmon.”
And proceeded to ignore every other fake until he found the real one
Alternatively, the fake ones just talked shit while the real one offered to help him find Miu (parallel to when they first met?)
The point of the fakes was to distract everyone from finding each other (specifically Shuuji), and he seemed to be doing just fine distracting himself by searching for Miu :^)
There was a period where he and Miu were very close, before drifting apart a bit before the Incident (but in a normal sibling way)
Tbh, I flip-flop in my head about what their relationship was like before the Incident, since we never get anything fully concrete about it
I think it’s obvious they got along at the very least
For now, the impression I get is that they used to be close when they were a few years younger (played games together, teased each other, played pranks on each other), before growing up and getting more interested in their own lives instead of the other’s
And then the Incident happened and made things Very Complicated
In Part 4, when talking to Shuuji about siblings, the original Japanese has Kaito say something along the lines of his and Miu’s personalities not meshing well
The English localization kinda has a similar line? “Maybe she and I just can’t get along.”
Maybe this led to them being unable to connect with each other like they used to when they were younger?
Syakomon mentions in the Harmony route that the ordeal of the kemonogami world made the sibs realize how strained their relationship had become
Implying their relationship had to have been closer than they are now
But that could mean a lot of things…
This might be refuted by the flashback at the beginning of Harmony Part 8, where Miu says that after the Incident, “even Kaito is clingier than usual”
Implying that he was always “clingy”
I’m not sure what the original Japanese says, but the Korean version actually says something different: “and my brother’s sticking to me like never before”
Idk how accurate the Korean translation is, but given the similarities between the two languages, I can’t see many mistranslations happening unless it was a creative decision
This could also have many possibilities: maybe he wasn’t protective over her before? Or maybe he was, but just not to that extent
Given his strong sense of responsibility and general kindness, I feel like the latter’s more likely
But you can be protective without being close, especially in an older-sibling/younger-sibling relationship
This could also explain why he took the Incident so badly and personally -- if he hadn’t been that involved in her life before, he’s trying to overcompensate by being TOO involved
He has a good sense of direction
The basis for this is just that he seems like he would
Also, from the fact he knew the right way to the amusement park from the forest
This could tie into just having good instincts (which he claimed was the reason for the above lol)
Or maybe he’s just good at navigating woodlands due to living by one
Idk I’ve tried navigating forests before and it’s hard, maybe I just suck ):
AAAAND that’s all folks! Hope you enjoyed reading! I might make another post some time in the future because, believe or not, I had even more to say about this loser alksfjdkhfad
I tried to only add headcanons that had SOME basis in canon (whether or not you agree with my interpretation is up to you!), but I might make a post about more silly headcanons that have little to no basis in canon. Some of which might even contradict the things I wrote here, but… Mom said I can do whatever I want so I’m doing whatever I want >:(
I also plan on making a post like this about Miu and Minoru (my other faves) and maybe even the other characters (Aoi and Shuuji have been growing on me) so stay tuned!!
Check out the other parts here: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Don't ask what brough this on this is very silly but Torikasa knight/princess fairytale au where Tsukasa is a knight of noble origin and there's these rumours about how "the princess of the neighbouring country has been kidnapped by a vicious dragon and is held captive in his tower" so he sets out to save him (I haven't worked that part out yet it really is mostly just pulled out of a basic fairytale plot idk) only to find out that the "damsel in distress" is actually doing just fine and he's not in fact held captive and the dragon is his butler and the rumours are a complete exaggeration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
!!!!! YES
i'd love keeping their childhood friendship so when tsukasa breaks through the window it's "TSUKASA???" "TORI-KUN??????" and for yuzuru to be in his human form so it's not immediately obvious what's going on and tsukasa is Confused. but well he's already come all the way there so tori lets him stay over for a while and makes him fix the window himself "no! you Cannot hire a carpenter i do not want any strangers at my house!" and tsukasa sucks at fixing windows sooo bad so it takes a while and at one point tori begins to give him more meaningless tasks to keep him around for a little longer, and tsukasa also starts making up things to do. to serve as compensation of course it's not like either of them want to be together for longer than strictly necessary it's just that tsukasa's knightly honor wouldn't allow him to have an unpaid debt
but tsukasa does think it is a little weird you know. tori-kun the brat living alone with his butler in a manor in the middle of nowhere in the forest something Must be going on. when had tori rejected the liveliness of the capital for this? it had been a while since tsukasa had heard about him from other nobles but since he'd been away traveling he hadn't thought too much of it. and then one night he hears a way too loud noise and finds tori kneeling beside The Dragon. who is wounded and tori is crying and asking tsukasa not to come any closer.
and also at some point knights should come over all "ok we let our dearest baby go on a quest on his own but he is taking forever and omg i can't believe he's been living in a fancy house with a CUTE BOY and he didnt tell us" and then it's all loud and fun as it always is when knights are together
and i think they're probably at the forest to be near the witch's house (natsume) who has been helping yuzuru with the dragon thing but at some point it gets harder to control and so they need to call natsume's master for help and yay! wataru time! i love adding as many people as possible to fantasy aus

@snowshinobi Hiiiii :3 I'm responding to your tags on a new post and not the original since the original was already somewhat lengthy, and I plan on being LONG and RAMBLY, but I have sooo many thoughts on what you said and I'm going to say them. Also my browser crashed TWICE (TWO TIMES. 2) when trying to write this post so I'm really fighting for my life out here to get my silly little OC posts done. Also it's under the cut because it's looooong as hell LMAO
Firstly, you're so nice to me forever <3 Secondly, I think you've basically hit the nail on the head. The majority of the issues Maggie has coming back from death and her 9 years gone are really tied almost exclusively to her close family, because she... never really had anyone else. While in-universe it's only 9 years, realistically the jump in technology and culture is around ~20-30 years (Maggie died in the 90s/early 2000s essentially, and wakes up in a just barely futuristic city), but... the most jarring thing to her in terms of what she missed out on is just. Flipphones are no longer popular. Other than her family, she's only close with one other person... who just so happens to be a ghost, and therefore both 1. Wouldn't change much over the timespan due to how long she's been a ghost and 2. Unlike her family, was aware that something happened, since she could see the ghost-of-a-ghost Maggie left behind (The ghosts name is Opal, she positions herself as a sort of "guardian angel" figure, though she's not actually, and serves as just another parental figure for Maggie while also getting after the ghosts that constantly harass her to pass on messages to the living). Maggie has no real relationships outside of her family, and while her relationships with her family are massively impacted by her unknowing death, other than that... the timeskip itself doesn't weigh on her because she had no one regardless. Her struggle to adjust to everything thats happened would've happened regardless of the timeskip for her, because she was such an isolated shut-in that it's the same whether it happened the next day, or nearly a full decade later
Tumblr media
So another very interesting thing is that you've actually completely seen where I was going with everything, in spite of everything I said being very surface level and not actually delving into the plot at all. I completely skimmed over Jenna (She's very important to the plot, but she's by in large a regular person as opposed to Maggie's... everything), but for some additional context, Jenna has a horrendously shitty homelife, so her moving in with Maggie is both a gradual process (It goes from spending time there, to spending nights, to eventually just never going back home and moving in fully), and also serves as an escape for her. Part of that is also, so vitally, the food aspect. For some additional additional context, souls essentially serve as a persons lifeforce, practically every bodily function is improved by a soul that's stronger, though the "strength" of a soul is essentially entirely random, and not dependent on the individuals actions of any kind. Maggie had a generally weird soul before (Seeing ghosts inherently means she has to have something going on with her soul), but when she wakes up after her death, her soul is now even weirder, and part of that is that it essentially lets her get away with bad habits she absolutely should be seeing more consequences for. She barely eats, and when she does, it's basically exclusively crackers and whatever other safe foods she has around the house, because actually making food is a level of care and effort she just... doesn't give to herself in the slightest. Part of Jenna staying with her is that Jenna, without really discussing it, entirely takes up the mantle of caretaker of the apartment, with the biggest task being food prep, Jenna sees Maggie's unwillingness to take care of herself and silently steps up and starts making her actual meals so she's eating properly.
The problem is is that this also kinda... just straight up sucks? Jenna doesn't think much of it, it's something that needed to be done so she's doing it, she wants Maggie to be well fed even if she won't do it herself, and she's already been responsible for making all of her own meals for years prior anyways, so it's just another thing she does. Except that's shitty! Maggie's seen firsthand how terrible her homelife is, and it really weighs on her how even in her escape from that, Jenna's still being put in a position where she feels like she must care for her or else she just won't eat properly. So food is such a massively important thing to both of them, it's this symbol of love for both of them, it's love on the part of Jenna, for stepping in and taking care of Maggie when she can't do it herself, and it's love on the part of Maggie, for realizing how her own bad habits impact the people she cares about and wanting to lift that weight by taking care of herself better. It's also very vital for Maggie because she just... doesn't... have hobbies. Learning how to cook becomes really her only hobby and she puts all of her love and care into it, because for the first time in a long while she's actually passionate about something! ...Unfortunately she also is very very bad at it. She's inventing new dishes like "Burnt Salad" and "Please Help I Fucked Up Kraft Mac N Cheese" and still having to have Jenna come in and help her. But it's the thought that counts, and it'll only be a matter of time before she can make something vaguely edible.
Tumblr media
And finally, the stuff about names! I didn't post it here, but while idly talking about her in a Discord server I'm in, I definitely think that had I made Maggie like even a few months later than I would've done she would've been nonbinary. As it stands right now though, I'm saying she's probably some form of genderweird but too busy trying not to die to think about it <3 Growing up knowing that ghosts are real and routinely being shut down by authority figures in her life about it has made her very aware of how bullshit a lot of things are and how the people who claim to be knowledgeable tend to not know what they're talking about (Beyond just the "people don't think ghosts are real", she's also got ghosts willing to tell her when people are lying because they've got nothing better to do than just gossip) , so if she spent even just a moment thinking about gender as a social construct she'd instantly recognize that and probably take up some form of genderweird label, but as it stands she's just too stressed with Being The Protagonist to think about that
Now, the thing with Margaret. I'm not even going to lie to you, I think you made a better connection to how a name connects with community in terms of the narrative themes than I did. The thing with Margaret denying the name "Maggie" existed for two reasons, the in-universe explanation is that, with the little scrap of soul Margaret has leftover from Maggie, it's essentially working overtime just to keep her vitals working, it can't dedicate time and energy to making her an individual with preferences and a personality, so part of that is that she doesn't respond to "Maggie" because ultimately, that is not her name. Her name is Margaret and she's not going to respond to "Maggie" because "Maggie" isn't her name. Of course, out of universe the reasoning is that I wanted an easy way to distinguish between Maggie as she is the protagonist, and the version of her that lived in the years she was gone, so different names makes the most sense.
I think your connection to how name relates to community genuinely works on a level I hadn't fully pieced together myself yet and I really love that because I think that absolutely works with everything. One of the main conflicts of the plot is how Maggie is entirely disconnected from her family thanks to the years she was gone, with Margaret having no priorities beyond "survive", she basically never spoke with her parents or brother for years. While her family tried to reach out to her repeatedly (Especially given that, while they're unaware the truth of what happened the night Maggie was murdered, they do know something happened, and they believe that whatever it was severely traumatized her, and that's where the sudden and drastic shift in personality came from), there's a point where they just... gave up. She wasn't trying to talk with them or contact them in the slightest, so around a year or two after Margaret moved out, her parents gave up on her. Her brother would still be there a bit, but he also didn't really... try... anymore.
When Maggie wakes up, she tries to call her parents... and they don't pick up. They'd grown resentful over the years, and now that Maggie wants to talk to them, they don't forgive her for the years of not speaking to them, and aren't interested in whatever she has to say after nearly a decade of trying to reconnect with her and being met with nothing. It's her insistence that she wants to be called Maggie that actually gets her brother to realize she's telling the truth and that something happened. She shows up at his door, already something that Margaret wouldn't have done, and that combined with her being visibly upset when he calls her Margaret and tells him that's not her and that she's Maggie, it signals to him that whatever's going on is real (...though he would've figured this out eventually, given that she also literally 17 again and not in her mid-20s, and has a giant glowing stab wound in her chest). I think it works absolutely perfectly as being a symbol of community, her disconnect from her community is what led to her being called Margaret, and her desperation to be returned to that community is when she's Maggie again. So uh. Congrats on getting the themes of my OCs better than I did <3
Tumblr media
And uhhhh closing thoughts! I honestly did still skim over the majority of the plot (Literally never even mentioned Eli or what's going on with her stab wound </3), but I think you reeeeally hit the nail on the head with everything I'm kinda getting at with these OCs, which is... frankly wild given how little main plot I actually got at. Basically everything I mentioned in my original post was the setup, not the main plot. But waaaaugh thank you for being so niceys to me and also giving me another excuse to ramble endlessly <3
#my OCs#uhhh MAGGIE FUN FACTS:#Animals can tell when a soul is weird so she has a colony of stray cats that hang around her apartment door#she doesnt even LIKE animals that much (She barely takes care of HERSELF shes not taking care of any animals.)#but they all like her weirdass soul and keep hanging around because of it#When the plot ends she gives one of the stray cats to her parents as a 'sorry i died' gift#The cats name is Marge- named by Jenna and also specifically its 'Marge' said in a Simpsons impression. any Simpson#It's Jennas FAVORITE cat out of the strays bc she says she looks like Maggie. also Marge is a male cat#Neither Jenna nor Maggie know how to tell the difference between a male and female cat reliably so they assume Marge is female- hes not#Also Eli's the closest to the 'main antagonist' the story gets. hes an old coworker of Margarets and basically her only friend#and Maggie's too scared with her whole 'is actively dying' thing and doesnt know how to tell him 'hey im not your friend- she died'#ELI thinks that Margaret is essentially have some sort of extreme mental breakdown and is trying to get her help bc he cares about her-#-unaware that Maggie is essentially a different person and doesnt know him#anyways uhhhh Maggie attempts to beat him to death with her laptop once. sorry Eli. luckily shes 17 and scrawny as fuck-#-so he's able to throw her off of him but its still. BAD#Maggie's got INSANE insomnia for a large variety of reasons- and falls asleep on the floor one night while on her laptop#Eli- having gotten off work late and going to check on Margaret- who hasnt shown up to work in weeks and isnt answering her phone#-spots Maggie passed out on the floor and assumes shes having some sort of medical emergency#Margaret had left her spare keys at work which he'd grabbed- so he lets himself in to get her to a hospital#Only for Maggie to wake up. With a strange man in her apartment in the middle of the night. Wuh Oh !#THIS time however- when she's home alone (shes not alone Jenna's asleep in the other room) and she spots a stranger in her house-#-she ends up with a fight reaction and NOT freeze <3#also her full name is Margaret Elisabeth Newell and her brothers name is Hawke#one of the very few times i will give my OC a full name- and entirely bc my friend suggested her last name LMAO#also she believes in bigfoot. GHOSTS are real and theyre WAY less believable than 'big ape' so she fully believes it#Opal keeps trying to tell her no that ones ACTUALLY not real and shes like uh huh. sure. ill believe it when i see it

Hello,do you have any headcannons for the lettuce incident with Horus and Set?
SO MANY. idk where to start from because i've already spoken bits and pieces about it-- check my hc masterlist in my bio!
ok, so, like I said here, i think Set's betrayal all begins with his perception that Osiris is too kind-hearted and therefore, too weak to rule properly.
and so he decides to kill Osiris and take over. and this is all super clean because Osiris doesn't have any heirs that could possibly contest for the throne.
UNTIL, Isis, with the power of love, resurrects Osiris and has Horus. NO ONE was expecting that, least of all Set... i hc that Set banishes Isis and doesn't kill her because she's still his sister and she's sort of a bit timid and doesn't pose any real threat to him (or so he thinks).
now, the thing about Horus is that he lives most of his life away from the capital of Egypt-- which is where Set stays. so Horus hears a lot of stories about Set, but doesn't really know who he is. but, now that Horus has grown up a bit, and Set is a bit older than he was back when he killed Osiris, Horus thinks that since he's younger, he should be stronger, and it'll be really easy to defeat Set.
but when Horus arrives at Set's palace, i like the idea that he's very flashy and loud and just openly reveals who he is and challenges Set then and there. and Set is like "wtf how are you even alive!" and Set, equally as arrogant as Horus, thinks it'll be an easy task to kill Horus right there on the spot.
so they have, right from the get-go, this rivalry where they both think they're sooo much better than the other. but, the truth about who's better isn't actually all that clear. they fight, but get interrupted by the arrival of Atum (Egyptian creation myth varies, but i like the idea that Atum is the supreme creator,, THE first guy ever, and progenitor of all gods) who "hosts" the Ennead.
and Atum, wise beyond measure, decides that picking who should be Pharaoh isn't as simple as winning a fight, so he designs numerous challenges to test all manner of skills and reveal the one who is truly worthy of the throne.
unfortunately, Set and Horus are both very cunning and talented, and there is no distinct victor. ultimately, the challenges are no longer about being good at the game, but outsmarting/foiling each other.
now, Set hates Horus for numerous reasons; chiefly because he threatens to take away Set's throne which he has "sacrificed much for", but also because Horus and his family (i.e., Osiris and Isis) have taken away all that Set wishes for... from Set's perspective.
Osiris, ruler of Egypt, took the throne that Set thought he was more worthy of. everyone fawns over Isis for her beauty and kindness, but Set perceives that Nephthys is wayyy prettier and talented and has more heart/soul than Isis ever could have, and lastly, the final nail in the coffin, Isis is responsible for raising Anubis after Nephthys, in fear of Set, gives Anubis away to Isis so she doesn't have to raise him herself in Set's presence where Anubis might grow to be as tyrannical as Set.
obviously, Set doesn't see himself as the reason for why Anubis had to be sent away.. in my version of events, Set doesn't even know Anubis exists until Horus goes with Anubis to the capital to challenge Set... this is because Nephthys conceals her pregnancy from Set, so he's completely oblivious.
but the thing is-- i like the idea that Set actually does want a family. he does love Nephthys. he would have been over the moon to have a son, to raise Anubis himself, and he HATES Isis for taking his son away from him... i do not think he blames Nephthys,, but is convinced that she was "brainwashed" into giving Anubis away.
so when Set sees Horus and Anubis acting like brothers, it pisses Set off a lot, and it makes Set hate Horus even more.
now... with the actual lettuce incident.. the original is too weird for my liking- i think Set and Horus should have a strictly professional relationship (and also idk how anyone could stick to the original myth without sounding batshit insane).
backstory for a moment: i have a hc that, at the place where Ra first emerged is a tree. and that tree bears seed that is considered to be the substance of life (you can probably see where im going with this)... certain creator gods like Ra, Ptah, and Atum, have the power and skill to use that seed to create lifeforms, but for most other gods, it's toxic and akin to poison. so Set steals some of the seeds off this tree and uses it to hopefully poison Horus.
in the original myth, Ra, Horus, Set and a few others i think, go to this secret island where they're supposed to play nice and not fight. so, under the pretense that he's "playing nice" and following the truce, Set gifts Horus some of this poison that he's disguised as wine.
but Horus isn't as dumb as he looks, and although he doesn't know what it is that Set has given to him, he recognises the danger in accepting something from Set. so of course, he goes to his mother (like he always does).
and i think from there, Isis and Hathor realise Set's plan and turn the tables on him, transferring that poison to Set's favourite lettuce.
you might ask, why does Set accept the lettuce from Horus when he knows they're enemies??? well, i think, the simplest answer is that Set underestimates Horus. constantly.
he doesn't see Horus as a threat that he can't defeat. so, when Horus gives Set the lettuce, he's reasonably sure that it's not poisoned. as a precaution, i hc that the poison is only in the core of the lettuce, so to prove it's not poisoned, Horus can eat a leaf from the outmost layer and be fine, but when Set eats into the centre of the lettuce, that's when the poison strikes.
anyways. the rest is the same as the classic myth. Set eats the lettuce and gets pregnant -_- and gives birth to a disk which is very humiliating and embarrassing for him.
now, the act of getting impregnated by your rival is supposed to be like... the most shameful thing ever. it's not something to be proud of. BUT, this kinda doesn't make sense to me because a lot of gods in myth have given birth on their own and no one really faced any embarrassing social consequences because of this. ALSO, the Contendings doesn't end when Set gives birth, BUT ends when Set unwittingly admits that he did the wrong thing and Horus should be King, and that doesn't happen for a bit.
SO, i like the idea that Set, crafty as ever, decides to spin things around and claim that the fact that he could create life is not a shameful thing, after all- Ra himself created Hathor and many other gods by himself, as did Atum, and also Ptah. so, really, there's nothing wrong with it.
and,, because Set is so skilled in persuasion, many on the Ennead are inclined to agree with him, and so, the Contendings continues on with MORE challenges, much to Horus' chagrin.

a'ight. let's talk about the netflix adaptation of avatar: the last airbender.
SPOILERS PRESENT THROUGHOUT UNDER THE CUT.
this covers eps 1-4 bc i need a break for food and stuff lmfao.
so i like probably many others went in braced with the expectation of it being...well, like a certain movie that we all like to pretend does not exist. i had seen some things, which i discussed on another post, that worried me greatly. i would consider myself an atla superfan; it was a huge part of my childhood and i can remember sitting on the floor of the living room watching sozin's comet with my brother as the finale aired for that first time. so while i was excited for the idea of a live action version, having been badly burned by the movie, i was wary.
i am pleasantly surprised to say that, other than some flaws that i will discuss, it actually was...good?
i was very concerned about the removal of sozin's comet, given how integral it is to the story. sure, you do have actors who will be aging, as it is gonna take at least probably 6 years for the whole story to wrap up. this is, of course, assuming that netflix does not yeet it after s2 as they so love to do. seeing that it was present in episode 1 was...a little confusing considering what i had read. but i'm glad that it was there.
seeing sozin himself was awesome tbh. i think that he is a really interesting character and i honestly would be thrilled to have an entire series dedicated to him and roku, with their friendship and the trials they suffered together as firelord and avatar respectively. that was always one of my favorite episodes in s3 because of the deep introspection we got and the history of those two characters. but uh yeah when he just casually burned that earthbender to death, yeah. that was kinda the first sign that this was not going to be an adaptation geared towards children.
which i guess does make sense, doesn't it? after all, those of us like myself who grew up with avatar are no longer children but instead grown adults with children of our own in some case. it's an adaptation: it has to adapt to the times.
seeing the actual genocide of the air nomads was...a lot. that is one thing i will say that the live action had over the cartoon; it is hard to show death in a cartoon intended for children which means that, in a way, it is harder to fully realize the gravity of the situation. by showing it, by showing the deaths of men, women, and children, you as the viewer get the chance to better understand what was actually lost. i think it was easier to see them not just as characters but as people.
i'll admit that the cursing threw me for a loop, lol. it was just strange to casually hear "ass" being used in the realm of atla. but, again, this comes back to the need for accepting the aging audience.
i know there had been some discussion of aging katara to 16 and de-aging sokka to 14. if that was done, there was no sign of it. i had also had concerns about the removal of sokka's sexism but, honestly, i genuinely feel like the story was made much stronger for the lack of it. i liked the replacement of his 'dad left me in charge, i'm the leader, this is all my responsibility' sooo much more because it made more sense, especially when the revelations from the episode called spirited away came to light. it worked. and it worked in a way that lent gravity to the situation rather than the rather comedic ties that the original sexism offered.
i think in terms of sheer characterization, sokka was probably the strongest overall. i feel like his actor really got the character. katara had a problem of, at times, feeling too flat, as well as lacking some of the passion that i felt the cartoon allowed her to have.
aang's actor did really well, i will say. my friend thought that he did not quite convey the joyfulness that cartoon aang had but, having had a few hours to think about that, i think that might have been purposefully done. the adaptation was, again, not aimed at young kids. it makes sense that aang should feel, especially based on his discussions with the other avatars and other central characters, more serious and concerned about the general state of the world. a century is a long time to be away and i liked the way they showed the struggle he had with the fact that his entire people were gone. he really was the last airbender and the adaptation made me feel that. sure, it came at the cost of some of that youthful joyfulness, but i think it was a fair trade overall.
i loved gran gran doing the initial intro lines with kyoshi doing the actual intro. gran gran doing it made it feel like a story, a legend, that had been told for decades.
something else i enjoyed was the way that the adaptation handled integrating in other plotlines. getting to see ozai and azula, as well as mai and ty lee, in the fire nation capital city was really interesting. to me, it was a reminder that even when other characters are focused on other things, there are always things happening. the fake out of azula being a spy for her father for rebellions was fantastic and i think a key to the beginning of her characterization as a whole. i will admit i had some concerns about azula but her actress was incredible. absolutely incredible.
sokka's chemistry with suki was SIZZLING. like that entire bit was just so good. them fighting together and training together was just. urgh. it was so good.
now a character i will say i strongly prefer in the cartoon over the live action was zhao. i felt like his actor was...just trying too hard. maybe it's because jason isaacs just has a villainous voice but the cartoon always felt scarier to me. zhao in the live action felt...cartoonish and silly. almost like his actor was not taking it seriously, if that makes sense? that was disappointing to me. zhao was meant to be the first real antagonist of the series, a villain we could really hate and root for his downfall. instead, he just sort felt cartoonish and cheezy to me. i'm not sure if that was a direction choice or just the actor failing to understand the character but that was one of my chief complaints overall.
on the opposite end, iroh was so good. let's all be real here for a moment: there was no way, no way in hell, that a live action iroh was gonna be better than the cartoon. it was not gonna happen. iroh in the original was peak character and they were never gonna recreate him. but they didn't need to! they didn't need to because the live action iroh was just so good. he brought the same sort of laid back, calm serenity that the original iroh did without feeling like a carbon copy - or worse, a caricature - of him. i loved absolutely everything about iroh.
i wanna talk about the funeral scene in e4 but i also don't wanna talk about the funeral scene in e4 because it made me BAWL LIKE AN ACTUAL BABY Y'ALL I WENT FROM PERFECTLY FINE TO TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE SOBBING BROKENLY IN .2 SECONDS. as soon as i recognized the music that was it i was done, i was gone, almost had to pause to get myself back under control. it was bad.
i really liked how they did jet. it was a little strange for that to all be taking place in omashu but i understand the necessity of pulling everything down to fewer locations.
speaking of, to address something i spoke of at some length in another post, one of my key concerns upon learning that there was not going to be the 'running around to different locations' plots was that team avatar and by extension, us the audience, would miss out on seeing the effects of a century long war. i am very happy to say that those concerns were not valid. i actually think the live action did a better job of communicating those effects in a way that was truly shocking. think about bumi, for example. a character who in the show is, really, a sort of comedy break became instead a character who felt real, felt serious, and felt like he was bruised all over by the war that he has been fighting. i was on the fence a lot about that plot change, where bumi was sort of dark and gritty, but the more i have thought about it, the more i realize that it makes sense. a hundred years is a long time to battle an enemy that, frankly, is better equipped than you. is it any wonder that he was so angry at aang, even if that anger was misplaced? i don't really think so.
i am going to stop here, get some food, shower, and discuss the last 4 episodes a little later bc this is already unbelievably long lmao.
please feel free to let me know what you thought of it!!

Happy Birthday ! :) Go Capricorns <3 Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for giving us this beautiful story. If I may ask, as a writer, how do you keep yourself going? How do you stay motivated and inspired for so long? It’s amazing! And the story you deliver is absolutely breathtaking. I admire you so much <3 P.S Thoughts on the new comics/ movies that avatar studios is coming up with ??
Sorry for taking so long to answer! Happy birthday to you too, Anon! I'm assuming it already passed, with Capricorn season wrapping up and all x'D
So, how do I stay motivated...? To be honest, it's a bit tricky to answer that X'D
I've told this story a few times in the past, I think, but the truth is, I actually wound up writing ATLA fics because I was stuck, absolutely stuck, with an original story over some worldbuilding elements I couldn't figure out. I was infuriated and frustrated by it, so I decided to clear my head and go watch this TV show people kept telling me was soooo good, so I settled on doing that and no longer stressing out about my story...!
... Poor story's been fridged for ten years :') so very cruel of me to do that, I know. And I think that, on top of the fridging, I'm actually bound to have to rewrite the whole thing from scratch one day, so... yeah :'D
The point of sharing this is explaining that, as much as I write up a storm sometimes, I don't ALWAYS do it, it doesn't work with everything, writer's block is no stranger for me, if anything I got waaaay too acquainted with it as a teenage writer who was writing whatever came to mind with zero pressure because it was for her eyes only.
My time writing original fiction as a teenager taught me many lessons, though, and among them, the discipline to write on a regular, constant basis. This isn't something EVERYONE can do, every writer works differently, and I can't pretend I'm permanently, constantly ready to write. But just waiting for inspiration to strike is a dangerous game to play, because... often inspiration arrives for the wrong things, or at the wrong time. I don't write anything out of order if I can help it (though my god, Part 3 is sooo trying to mess with that, organizing this chaotic chunk of the story has NOT been easy x'D), precisely because if I don't push myself through the transition scenes, through the lead-up, and I just jump right into the big moments I REALLY want to write? I'll never write the build-up to it because I'll never feel like it :'D
So, for starters, discipline. The discipline I developed is mostly about being ready to power through when things aren't super engaging. And then, if things didn't feel right because you forced them, you scrap and redo it, specifically by pinpointing the problems that caused things to feel forced. I've had to scrap soooo many ideas that just weren't flowing correctly, and I've had to go around that and figure out other ways to write something, both to make it more engaging and to make it actually work better than whatever I had in mind at first...
... Therefore, secondly, gotta learn to adapt! Once you identify something's not right, or a GREAT idea comes to mind but it potentially derails your previous plans, you slow down to figure out how to adapt, if adapting is possible at all. I actually had some very strange ideas for the arc I'm currently posting in Gladiator, and upon reaching the point where I finally had to write them... I realized that concept didn't work. It might work better on a TV show, maybe, in something audiovisual, because it would have required a lot of switching, back and forth, between two situations that looked the same, at the same time? Kinda? And it just didn't feel right when I finally was supposed to write it, it was too confusing. So... I adapted to what felt right, and I think the result is infinitely better for it :D
Thirdly... which probably should be the first thing, honestly: building scenes.
It sounds weird to say it this way, but this is a key element of how I write stories. It's become such an important part of it that nowadays I've become disgustingly critical of how scenes are built in any content I consume -- I'll have to try and figure out if someone's put my feelings about this into words, maybe in academic essays or books or so, because I admit I really don't know how to explain something that feels so instinctive to me...
But anyway: scene building is the core of how I write. If I were planning on writing a car race, I'd have to think about how that race will end, probably even before I think about how it begins. If it ends with a triumph for the hero, or a defeat, or a brutal accident that causes the race to be cancelled? I have to think about how that would happen, depending on the story I'm telling. Once I settle on the outcome, that retroactively informs then, of what I need to do in order to build this conclusion: how do I develop the characters in order to take them in that direction? And once the conclusion arrives... it has to be the biggest moment of the story. It has to carry narrative weight. A lot of that can be built by setting the stage, something I've found a lot of people don't really seem to think about... but even a small room in a house can be a grand stage for a big story's conclusion if the scene is set properly to pay off there.
So... I build up scenes. When I start thinking about telling stories, the first thing my brain is wired towards is envisioning scenes. Once I come up with a scene that I REALLY want to write, or in some cases, multiple scenes, I start to thread things together. Let's take for example... my "Azula and Sokka as spies" AU from Sokkla Saturdays 2020.
First thing I came up with was the idea, of course, of Sokka and Azula having to work together to save Kuei somehow. The exact threat they were saving him from only came to mind later, what mattered was that they would be in Ba Sing Se, cooperating to put a stop to something dangerous.
Then, I thought of the idea of the two of them being stuck together in a closet or a very tight space, unable to move or do anything because the enemy was right there and would catch them snooping about in the wrong place at the wrong time :'D This specific scene, then, became the core of how I built up that story.
From that core, I started to come up with the conclusion (do they win or lose), as well as how they landed in that situation, what's the threat, why they're working together but as separate agents, what their dynamics would be like in this setting, how their mutual attraction reaches a boiling point in that very specific scene...
And at that point, I just focused on preparing everything and setting the stage in order to tell the story of... how Sokka and Azula wound up locked inside a tight space together in Ba Sing Se's Palace X'D
For me, generating those core scenes is crucial for building a story that I can flow through with the right amount of motivation. I don't really know how other people do it, some people love writing stories without planning anything beforehand, and all the power to them if they can do that. I really prefer building things up towards the outcome I'm aiming for, though. At times, new elements come up in the middle of writing anyway, and you can be surprised by unexpected twists that actually bring new life to your story. You just have to let yourself ride the waves and figure out whether you'd rather choose your destination or let your story choose it for you, in a sense. But for me, setting at least some of the course is what seriously pushes me towards creating the story I want to write.
Gladiator-wise, the key has been this same principle, but in higher frequency. Basically, pretty much every arc I've written has one or multiple core scenes that I built up at the center of it all. Sometimes those core scenes could be very small and contained things... sometimes they could be something massive and chaotic. But I basically have pushed through Gladiator without breaking (even when things did get me down at times) because I had those highlights, important moments to look forward to that motivated me (and still motivate me, we're not done yet!) to keep going and push past the build-up that's necessary for everything that comes next.
... Alright, I hope that made sense X'D
As for Avatar Studios and its upcoming projects, as well as Hicks's next comic... I don't really have a lot to say on that front. I'm on a strict "live-and-let-die" policy with canon since North and South Part 1, pretty much, the last comic I ever read in full... because unless canon actually catches my attention and does things in a way I can respect/enjoy, I'm better off not engaging with it. As I mentioned in another ask not long ago, what really bothers me about the latest direction of this franchise is the lack of purpose in the stories they've been telling. Aang's story doesn't feel that way... but pretty much everything else does. Until I get the sense that they do have a direction and a purpose, I don't think I'm going to be overly concerned with whatever canon does. If I'm told Azula's comic is great, I'll definitely give it a read, but I don't hold out a ton of hope for my peace of mind, too. Better not to get excited only to be disappointed later on, as The Search taught me :'D I'd love it if Hicks can do a good job with the comic, of course, but I'm not passing judgment for or against it until it's out... and after it's out, I'll only pass judgment if I actually decide it sounds like something I want to read. Canon is free to do what it wishes to... I live very happily in my AUs and I have no need for canon validation to do what I do. So... that's my stance on that :'D

Hi! I'm really loving your Wonwoo CEO fic right now. The drrrrama!
I was wondering - what is your process with fics like? Do you first flesh out the story from beginning to end or is it more like you have a general concept and write as you go? Also, how long does it generally take for you to write, say, a chapter? Thanks so much 💗
Hiii,
Thank you sooooo much for enjoying the series!!😫♥️🥹 it truthfully makes my entire day/night whenever I see comments like these! It makes my work feel very appreciated, so thank you♥️♥️♥️
And yesss, the drama is unfolding and it will continue🫣
To your question: (thank you so much for asking btw, I was genuinely shocked when I saw your ask bc I was like, “people care about stuff like that?” It makes me sooo happy🤭🥰🤗)
So, this is usually my process:
- idea —> general idea of what a storyline could be (e.g.: enemies to lovers with a CEO!Au)
- then, more details about the story: characters, their personalities, setting etc.
- while I think about the characters and a little bit more about the plot, specific scenes will pop into my head over the course of a few days usually, or I’ll read a book and see something I like, watch a show/movie with a scene that inspires me
- then, obviously I have to think about where I want it to begin and how I want it to end
- information on certain things is also really important to me! For amour-haine & Co. I looked at different positions in companies, their meanings, words from programming, etc. names for the companies in the series, and so on. If I write about stuff I don’t know much about (like being a CEO) I do like informing myself to get somewhat of an idea. Of course, I’ll never get it 100% right and it’s still a work of fiction, but I really like learning new stuff, so it’s not too bad to actually inform myself🤗 I’m also always very happy and thankful to receive criticism and/or tips when it comes to that. If you know about certain stuff better than me, please tell me and educate me!
- throughout the course of the entire writing process, I will come up with new ideas for seve idc scenes I want to include in the story at some point. Again, through books, tv, just my head, or even anons and moots will text me about an idea they have (always open for ideas! I love seeing what you have to say!)🤗 this process makes the story as long as it could possibly be. I never would’ve imagined for Amour-Haine & Co. to have more than 10 chapters and now I have more than enough content that I still want to include for quite a good amount of more chapters. That’s why I love not having a fixed storyline because I always find something new that I like :)
- while writing chapters I sometimes also get random ideas for lines or entire plots that I want to include, so I’ll add those too and before I know it one chapter has +7k words. It’s crazy how you don’t even realise how much you’re writing and then suddenly I’ll go, “but what I wanted to originally happen, didn’t even happen yet…” but then I’ll usually just include it in the following chapter. Chanyeol was supposed to appear around chapter 5 in my head because I never thought that I would write that much, but nope😂 he mad whiz first appearance in chapter 9
Very often I’ll also get random ideas and immediately have to write them down into my notes on my phone because I’ll forget them otherwise. That’s how I’ve been spending my free minutes at work to pass the time. Thinking and writing😂
How long does it take me to write a chapter is a difficult question to answe, because I could write one with like 4k words within 2-3 hours, but now I like having longer chapters, so they usually take me around 8-9 hours I want to say… (including deleting scenes because I hate how I wrote and rewriting them) I also used to hate having to write across multiple days because every now and then I’d forget what I wrote and I would have to re-read it and I hate that😂 but now, especially for my current series, I often do have to write across multiple days because of uni and work. So, I’ll write a bit in the evening at 10pm and then after waking up at around 8am, then get back to it at 5pm, then one day I won’t have time at all to write, so I try to write double of what I would usually write on the following day, and so on
While typing this, I realised how insane some of this sounds, but anyways, this is somewhat my process😅🤗 thank you again for asking!!♥️♥️

Okay, it's like i have to break my promise not to write publicly, i hate it. but this one, i really want everyone to see it. first of all, i want @carolsfeelgoodstuff to read it bc she won't leave me alone and won't contact me personally.
We'll talk the concepts of YouTube and self-sufficiency.
1)YouTube.
YouTube is the world biggest platform for videos, it allows to upload the largest and the best quality videos possible. Also, YouTube is the first place anyone would go searching. I cut my vids to pieces to be able to upload every second available without violating the copyright of the original owner. Sometimes my vids get blocked, sometimes the rightholders unblock them, it's a very complicated system, and we're not talking about it today. but i always try to make everything stay on the channel the longest time possible. Why? It's done for the fans who may come not today, not even tomorrow. A year, 5 years, 10 years, whatever. It's an archive of everything in one place available for everyone from everywhere in the world. That's it. That's why i care about quality so much. Everything is categorized by folders (for the times when he is super famous ehehe) for quick search.
So, it's YouTube.
Now your favourite part. The word 'EXCLUSIVE' (my ass ™). That's where we come to the concept of
2) Self-sufficiency.
When i first started it, i was different, let's say so. I thought im gonna do something and people will love me (i know, ridiculous, ive grown up since then). It was not about archive, it was about me wishing to be included. Long story short, it failed. (i strongly believe everyone knows this story of me attacking people out of the blue like a rabid dog. Am i proud of it? No. But what's done is done.)
I had two ways. To stop doing what i was doing or to go on alone. I chose the latter :). This channel was the first thing in my life i didn't abandon after 5 minutes. I enjoyed every second of it. Editing, making covers, avoiding blocking and deciding what im gonna do next. Adam turned out a perfect muse for me. I never get tired of his face and he always inspires me to try something new. Months later, I understood that i didn't need to be included anymore, it was so enjoyable that i knew even if everyone unfollows me today, im gonna start from scratch tomorrow just because i love it. Even when it sux.
I stopped asking people here and on twitter to subscribe (i do ask on yt but it's a common practice). I became self-sufficient.
Wow! You ve read up to this! EXCLUSIVE (my ass ™).
When i discovered Branwell's vids, i was sooo excited (my ass ™), i posted an extract on twitter immediately but no one seemed interested. I won't describe the circles of hell i went through to upload it to yt in THREE, CARL, pieces to make it available all over the world. And i still wanted everyone here and on twitter to see it. The word EXCLUSIVE (my ass ™) seemed to fit the best to draw attention, bc i was absolutely sure no one saw it before. Then @wifeofbath asked me where i got it, but i was still pissed (not proud), and never responded. As simple as that.
You gonna ask me why i said no to you. Speaking both Louvel and Hamlet, when i do something i find especially appealing, i feel an urge to make a post here and on twitter. Even if no one likes it. it's a ✔️ for me. Like mission completed or something.
Speaking Hamlet in particular, first, because i wanted to gif this one myself. Hamlet is a really big deaI for me. Second, i was dumb and it took me longer than expected to find it (on rutracker, my ass!). Third, im so so so sorry to say it aloud, and please don't take it personally and for fuck's sake dont stop giffing, but like i said, i have nothing to lose. Im a rabid dog :). i stopped visiting tumblr as often as i used to because i couldn't find other people's posts through the mass of your gifs. I got irritated and just left quietly and went into post'n'go mode. Tbh i was embarrassed when you wrote me here through the question form. Also, later i found you annoying, and im sorry for that.
So these were all cases when anyone asked me for a source of anything.
Everything i post i found in open sources, it's like a sport for me. First you find it, then you post and then there's this russian roulette moment - will it be blocked or not? Or will i have to cut the shit out of it to make it available all over the world? With those videos, Im concentrated on yt only, i dont aim to upload it anywhere else, bc see pt. 1. I don't own them, i dont care who else posts them and where. Ive learned my lessons and i wanna go on in peace.
Thanks for reading this,
Seems like im finally free now,
If there are any questions, please ask, im gonna answer.
❤️,
Al

OK THIS MIGHT JUST BE ME BUT HAVE U NOTICED THAT ALL THE REGIONS ARE DESIGJED IN FAVOR OF THEIR ARCHON. i might just be overthinking this entirely but if u look at liyue compared to inazuma (example), there are MANY more rock formations and much more rock (iron, jade, crystals, etc) and fond storytelling about zhongli because hes a good archon and favored by his followers. everything is closely knit and even though there are different divided parts of liyue theyre still connected by their culture and their archon specifically. like hes literally the geo archon so it makes SENSE RIGHT. GEO = ROCK AND ELECTRICITY = ELECTRO
buuut also. baal is only a body double for makoto (rip babe), and shes already had a worse impact on inazuma than makoto herself. im directly referencing kazuha here but literally EVERYONE fears her because of the vision hunt decree and what they Know is going to happen if they get in trouble with her. tomo died for posessing something that is Very normal - but not in inazuma because the shogun is power hungry and cant fathom the thought of someone being above her. apparently. theres a reason shes referred to as the "enemy of eternity" and not the "god of eternity" like in the lore. and because eternity was very importanr to ei and raiden but thats totally different
but if u literally take the inazuman map at face value it is VERY divided. nothing strings together like it does in sumeru or liyue, everytjing is very independent on its own and they literally have watatsumi - an island formed by a clan that intentionally worships orobashi instead of the shogun because her method of ruling was so. BAD. (especially because she literally killed orobashi lmao), but its like that. everywhere. if you look at the centermost islands none of them have any relation to the shogun because theyre all so divided. they worship their god becahse they feel they Have to and not because they want to
IDK IF IM TAKING OUT TOO MUCH AND MOST OD THIS MIGHT BE WRONG BUT. IDK ITS JJST SOMETHING I NOTICED A LITRKE BIT
I HAD WHOEL RESPONSE TO THIS WRITTEN UP AND THEN MY WIFI FUCKED UP AND IT GOT DELTED AUGH.
BUT. YES YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE NATIONS THEMES AND FEELING CORRESPONDING TO THEIR ARCHONS!!
A FEW corrections about Ei though!! - She’s not power hungry, she, due to losing her friends over the years in increasingly violent ways, decided to reign as the sole Celestial power at ALL in her nation for fear of it all collapsing, it’s not a “I can’t let these fools get more powerful than me, they’re fool mortals!!” Mindset, it’s a “I have to defend this nation with everything I have even if that means taking power from the people because I failed Makoto and I failed Kitsune Saiguu and I failed Chiyo and I failed Sasayori and I CANNOT fail again.” It’s a doomed and wrong path fueled by grief and her actions are unforgivable BUT she didn’t do it out of thirst for power. Also she’s not referred to as the Enemy of Eternity, that’s what she calls the Traveller, because the Traveller is an exception of her perceived order and natural laws!
And the people of Watatsumi don’t worship Orobaxi to spite the Shogun, but because he’s their ancestral god!! They’re descended from Enkanomiyans, and Enkanomiya is their original homeland! So they worship Orobaxi as their main god, while still holding respectful reverence for the Shogun!
Also about Tomo - having a Vision is NOT a normal thing!!! It’s super easy to forget because all playable characters are Vision-Weilders, but it’s very much not a normal thing. Like it’s extremely rare.
OTHERWISE YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT AUGH. Not to mention Sarai and Tsurumi Island alongside Watatsumi!!!! Oh the hells and trials of islands ruled by alternate gods once at peace with the Shogun but no longer :)
