Ok, so I know I mentioned how I won’t acknowledge BkDk Stans, but this one’s a special case. Reason being is that this specific person has a large audience and I felt that I’d outta warn you in case you decide to wanna interact with the MHA audience on Twitter, cause chances are you’ll encounter them. I’ve bought them up before, so the name Dekacchan might ring a bell. I had this old post saved in the drafts cause I wasn’t sure that I really wanted to actually post it, but this woman has some serious issues. This doesn’t mean you get to go to her Twitter and harass her, cause I don’t condone that shit, but let this post serve as a general outline for who Dekacchan is.

Bro, even the BkDks are shitting on Dekkachan 😂. This lady comes around championing the Japanese fandom of “being the most understanding of BkDk and it being canon”, but when confronted by a famous Japanese fujoshi who has more knowledge on the subject than she does, she continues to spit out these conspiracy theories 😭. Lady, give it a rest already.

As far as I can tell, this is her life:

-Be Dekkachan.

-Be 27 years old.

-Have a partner and a job where she teaches kids.

-Think of BkDk 24/7

-Partner and job are second to BkDk.

-Argue with children over which set of scribbles gets with which set of scribbles.

-Bully said children for not liking BkDk.

-Ignore that Izuku and Katsuki, the focus of the obsession, are minors.

-Retweet BkDk fan-art that is suggestive such as m!preg and acts of sex. Again, they are minors.

-Have friends who are proshippers and post NSFW pics of minors while being the same age as her.

-Fail to cringe at being terminally online and being more than obsessed with a fictional ship about two kids.

-Claim to be an intellectual but can’t even see that her ship isn’t canon DESPITE how obvious it is that the canon ship is IzuOcha. Even IzuOcha haters, fellow BkDks, and shippers of all kinds recognize this basic fact.

-Manipulate and cultivate an audience made up of presumably mainly teenagers to silence anyone who disagrees, no matter how logical their arguments are or no matter how respectful they are.

-Will actively seek out other people’s posts about their thoughts on MHA, and proceed to expose them to the hive-mind even if they posted away from the BkDk spaces.

-Alienate the majority of the BkDk community who is disgusted by such behavior, some even losing their love for something they were passionate of. Proceed to target and harass such “traitors”.

-Whole identity revolves around being a conspiracy theorist, a bully, a toxic shipper, and one of the biggest hypocrites on earth. Wears this as a badge of honor.

-Play victim whenever confronted and say “if you don’t like me, then block” despite the one initiating conflict.

Honestly a really sad life. Like yeah, I have this blog and whatnot, but I don’t go around harassing people who disagree with me, I’m not terminally online (only being online when I’ve got nothing better to do), and I can tell the difference between canon and my imagination. Dekkachan is something else and I’m honestly worried about how she’s going to react once IzuOcha actually becomes canon. Even other BkDk fans hate her 💀.

My personal timeline as a multi shipper

Here’s my controversial MHA (I know I know) ship timeline. I see a pattern of simply liking a ship because the two characters had an interesting interaction or exclusive to Izuocha, where Ochako can only likes Izuku. This is in order by timeline. I want to to spread this to show people that you are not hated by 100% of a group of anybody. We are all multi-faceted beings. My ships are based on interesting dynamics not canon-ness thereby superiority. This list is based on a timeline, not my interest.

‘Shipping’ in my case is simply enjoying the characters in a fanart or fa fiction outside of canon which is deemed more than is needed to understand the charcters. Support romantic or otherwise fanart with mainly two characters basically. It doesn’t even mean I see how they would be together in canon. Before bakudeku, I read most of these at the same time. I felt I had to have one ship only at some points too which isn’t true.

Maybe shipping for me is just liking an aspect of a story.

Izuocha. I liked this ship because it seemed like it was going to be obviously canon. I enjoy a lot of canon-ships like NaruHina, KanaTanjiro or just about any of my favorite shoujo and boys love pairings. Also a few spare girls love comics too; cute! I just thought that’s how it was. First friend and supportive and obvious.

Kacchako. I enjoyed their fight in the Sports Festival arc of mha because Katsuki didn’t hold back. I agreed with most of the crowd, he’s /kind of/ insane in how he acts at his point in the series. I fully believed he would go Sasuke or Villain route in this part of the series. I liked that he didn’t treat her differently because she’s a girl despite his intentions. Ochako put up her best fight and found something new in herself that she hadn’t before; the wit and quick thinking to fight back against a super strong unrestrained Enemy. I ended up seeing a BEAUTIFUL fanart of him sitting at a desk and Ochako sitting at a wind that was amazingly rendered. I read a lot of— let’s just say extremely out of pocket fan fiction about this rare pair. I felt insecure about this ship because it got made fun of online. Also Bakugo’s ‘nothing frail about her’ comments in the relationship connection extras. Regardless, interesting, fun, imaginative, unexpected.

KiriBaku. This seems to be the mostly widely /accepted/ ship in my opinion. I feel like it has the most support in the American fandom. Kiri was super popular at the time I joined my hero and I was deep in the weeb-tok era of 2019 through 2021(anyone else miss the “Iwa-Chan, kageyama!/ I know that I’m gonna slaughter dis” sound? And OH the cosplays). MAN I miss it it was so fun and less dodgy than boring-ass takes and blind fighting on twitter. I was a bakudeku hater at this time because I blindly believed the death threats were true. I didn’t hate the ship personally feel deep down but I thought actual death threats would’ve been too far. I often dumped mean and repetitive comments on anti-bakudeku tiktoks. I really enjoyed an actor au where the author switched the moha characters to playing their Japanese voice actors. Baku go/okamoto really wanted to play a canon gay character in the drama they were actors in but Izuku got it first which caused his continued resentment of izuku because he assumed he was not gay. It was really fun and some of the fics were very memorable and wholesome. Good times! At the transition between these two ships the fandom was all happy and the fanfics were funny and Bakugou was being supportive of his friends in his own way at this point.

Bakudeku. The plot twist of the century. But, not really. See, I hated bakudeku mostly because I wanted to fit in with the popular opinion and simple “they hate each other!!”. In order to seem normal and not insane since it was so hated. Again, I already thought bakugo’s character because it humanizes a bully in a realistic way. I usually live for those crazy ass villains anyway; it’s just anime. Death Note??? But obviously, I never would have put Bakugou in Izuku together. Rewatching season 1 that shot was terrible as fuck and heart wrenching and I feel so bad again after watching and I can see why I absolutely hated Katsuki when I watched mha. I can see why people still hate him. Again, I started looking at the fanart out of spite and saw a lot of fanart with one of them looking at the other back and watching them from behind. It’s really true to the series. It is so heart wrenching to watch and read. That’s why I like reading it. I’ve read SOO many fics where either of them die mostly Izuku, because of the suicide comment, but eventually with the event of black whip, mostly Katsuki for obvious reasons. There’s a deep theme of saving and winning and even the horror of death when you love someone so obviously I was captivated. Some fics, and I mean A LOT, basically predicted word for word the hospital scenes. I don’t like ‘I know your secret power’ tropes, but it’s there. There’s just so much between them it’s crazy. The way /The Way You Used To by: edema ruh/ has like the exact hospital scenes that LATER!!!! Happened in the manga… the death, the emotional power-ups, the connection of a separate soulmate ( ‘nother person in your body thing like the vestiges) quirk, PLUS ofa transactions inspired by two heros that canonically seem like they’re about to happen. You’ve got the Volume cover and everything to show for it too. Themes of almost Spider-Man and Gwen???? I rewatched Spider-Man 2 and it’s like huh??? And also Izuku is inspired by spider-man as well? Oh SHIT, is bakugo Izuku’s failed save? I’m gonna be SO FUCKINNG MAD if that happens, but I’m one of those people who enjoys angst a lot at the same time and I will appreciate it. I’m so everything for this ship for this ship platonic friendship or not I may just ship their friendship

TodoIIda. Usually, I don’t find a lot of my ships seeming canon except for this one. I already know that any important relationship or friendship between characters can be shipped but since they aren’t seen interacting on screen much next to the scene where iida saves him instead of going ahead, it really stuck. That must have been Horikoshi’s intention because he came back to them recently like they matter to each other. I JUST remembered the stain arc and how IIda and Shouto’s can relate on wanting revenge. Iida’s motto to help someone anywhere any time relates to Todoroki’s helplessness as a child. They’re important to each other. Friends, family.

Togachako. I didn’t consider this a ‘ship’ per se until recently, but I was obsessed with how Toga wanted become Ochako and the people she loves also how they like the same boy I guess?? Izuku seems oblivious and somehow even unrelated to their relationship even though it started it. There was this one cosplay tiktok with a poppy sound on it and I was OB- SESSED. I told you I love me some crazy simpy villains and Toga is just that. Unexpected was how Ochako starts to focus on her specifically and want to save her. I was NOTTT expecting her to say she was jealous of her smile. I was so sad when Himi said she didn’t want to talk to Chako anymore so I was PUMPED to hear people spreading the misleading togacjako canon on twitter. Toga biromantic/sapphic vampire whose blood-sucking is like kissing, is getting blood from ochsko for the rest of her life. I don’t know if toga really cares anymore. I also enjoy their possible relationship to Yuki-onna. Would love if something came out of them in canon, though I just realized toga explicated said she wanted to go out with Izuku so why can’t she do it for ochako?

dabihawks. I was SO confused why people shipped this when they barely showed their interactions. I only realized when a mostly canon style fan manga dubbed did a dabihawks comic. I then realized they are are almost the same childhood reflections of each other, neglected, abused by their parents

As an end note, I learned that every ship dynamic has to be romantic, but usually it is because of recent fan culture. I’m 15 but I know a lot about older fandom because I was an avid Kaichou Wa Maid Sama fan and used the less popular fan fiction.net. People are a lot nicer on fanfixtion sites than on social media sites, I’ve learned also older fandoms didn’t get massively hated on like MHA does. There’s just more people in the world who watch now. Remember to be yourself because there’s always someone feeling just like you out there, I promise. Chaio;3

Why do you hate izuocha as a ship?

Man, you’re really gonna ask me to air my dirty laundry and be an ass about this. Okay, fine.

It’s boring.

It doesn’t tie into the bigger themes of the story. Izuku and Ochako don’t have a ton of development together and so it makes both of them look like a love interest prop to the other one. Ochako’s crush subplot takes most of the wind out of her character’s sails except when Toga is dissecting it because she’s more ruthless than Mina about it and also is actually trying to use it as a way to connect with Ochako. And I have never liked most boy-meets-girl high school romances, anyway. Where’s the backstory? Where’s the history? Where’s the deeper conflict or theme they can bond over? Am I really meant to get invested in them ending up together because they agree on saving the villains? Because that’s a lesson for the whole class.

Why should I care that Izuku and Ochako see eye to eye about it when I care so much more about, say, Todoroki “my family history is wrapped up in one particular villain of note we thought died long ago” and Izuku coming to the same conclusion, or Iida “I tried to kill a villain once to avenge my brother” and Izuku coming to the same conclusion, let alone the entire class? Why should that be the most significant basis for Izuocha’s relationship that I have to spend mental energy absorbing and reading when I could read about Izuku becoming closer (in any capacity) with literally anyone with a more interesting connection that he has actively been involved with (Todoroki situation, Iida situation) Or even ones he isn’t directly involved in, like the AIZAWA-OBORO SITUATION - Izuku is Aizawa’s beloved little reckless problem child who throws himself into danger and is seen by his classmates as one of two points they revolve around, not totally unlike what Oboro was for him. The “saving the villains” thing as it relates to Ochako is something she has to do for Toga by herself. It’s insulting that her little crush would be involved in it as anything other than a supportive friend in the background (and how wonderful he was ousted from the situation. Thanks, Tsu!) This thing she is confronting with Toga may concern him as an object (emphasis on object) of affection, but it’s not about him. It’s private.

And, you know? Are Ochako and Izuku even that close of friends yet? Sure, they are good to each other as friends and that’s great! But are they even really that good of friends outside of the, like, traumabonding of being in 1A?

Am I really supposed to think the admiration of Izuku and the concealment of the All Might charm she got in the Christmas gift swap that just “popped out unbidden” to make her feelings obvious is more significant than Katsuki’s concealment of the All Might card that just “popped out unbidden” to make his feelings obvious? Really? You want me to stop absorbing Ochako’s surprised feelings for Izuku as anything other than a comment about Katsuki’s in a slightly different light and context, complete with feelings of inadequacy and self-exploration and improvement for both characters? Because without that, NOTHING about Ochako’s crush subplot (without Toga’s DIRECT involvement) is compelling.

Sorry. I went off on this one. But I really, really have nothing nice to say about this.

I should have guessed that, Izuocha completely slipped my mind.

I’ll be honest, anybody actually convinced that BkDk will be a thing has managed to detach themselves from canon to an impressive extent. Also from the genre in general….lol.

I am so sorry to say but Ochacko is the canon love interest.

Bakugo is, objectively, not. He is not a love interest. There is no romantic context in his interactions with Izuku. There just isn’t. Of course if you ship it then you can work with canon to twist it to fit the ship! I mean that’s the point of ships, they’re fun and you play off of canon. But that’s fanon, not like, what’s actually on screen.

The ship wars between fanon ships are one thing, but between a fanon ship and an objectively, romantically implied pair makes me scratch my head.

Idk what to say about the character roles. I’ve seen Ochacko hate rise because people wanted Iida to have more in the OP. And like, I get that. It’s personal preference. But imo it shouldn’t be “Should Ochacko have gotten the screen time”, because she literally closed down the villain hunt arc. It isn’t out of nowhere to give her screen time and focus.

She also is carrying a significant portion of the final arc currently, with Toga yes, but it’s still her involvement. Iida has a wonderful moment in this arc, and he will get it. Bakugo too. But Iida really doesn’t hold as much weight in the following arc, and anyone who tries to argue that Bakugo doesn’t get screentime or focus in stuff is just wrong.

This is just a weird debate imo.

Weeeeell, I think Izuocha is a wholesome and adorable ship. In my lil imagined version of the manga ua is a university and I have a list of things I’ve established in my head, but here’s one;

UA has an campus psychologists that have their own backstories and families. One is Dr. Rebecca Flowers who is originally from Canada but is ethnically Japanese, Israeli Jewish, French, and Inuit. Her quirk is called Bloom, it allows her to grow flowers from her skin that releases potent pheromones that causes the feelings of those who inhale it to bubble to the surface that they will get a literal allergic reaction if they don’t reveal and let out said feelings. Certain flowers will bring out certain emotional reactions so she had to learn that meanings behind all flowers. Her flowers can’t create feelings out of nothing though, and if she overuses her quirk she gets bad allergies and if she underuses her quirk she gets mood swings because of the various pheromones in her blood. Her baseline personality is very chill and soft spoken but she is quite literally capable of murder but isn’t quick to anger. She’s patient and both flighty and observant, she can always tell if someone is upset and has a soothing Mother Nature esque personality. She does have a secret rebellious side that she developed in her high school years and may or may not work at a bdsm club at night on weekends. She was close with Midnight despite not exactly approving of her professional conduct. She makes tea for her coworkers and sometimes is their therapist. While she is the most qualified and professional out of the entire UA staff she may or may not be getting it on with her coworkers (excluding Nezu). She has a knack for being on everyone’s good side and only dislikes one man, Nezu, because she hates the way he runs the school and traumatizes all the students and expects her to “fix” them just to do it again while not even respecting her as professional because of his skewed perceptions of psychology and mental health.

Once again the way you balance and round your ocs is immaculate. I can see the students thinking she’s just a kind motherly person and all the teachers having to bite their tongues not to say anything they might skew that perception because it’s not wrong, just not the complete scope of things

Keep other ships out ya mouth

Ignore that I used the wrong they’re. But this is an issue that has been driving me up the wall ever since I actively started explore the MHA fandom (my first mistake). I love izuocha, it’s my favorite ship and that isn’t going to change but holy SHIT can y’all not keep other ships out of your goddamn mouth. Some people just want to enjoy a cute izuocha complication, we don’t need y’all dog piling other ships in the comment section unprompted. I imagine it gets very annoying for izuocha content creators to have multiple comments shitting on other ships rather than paying attention to the cute fan content they made. Stop being so insecure in your ships y’all, izuocha is a strong enough ship on its own, you don’t need to keep comparing it to others.

Dad for One and the Ship thesis

I wish there had been more samples but honestly this is what I suspected. While you all were probably thinking this is to find the most popular ship- Note some do over lap because I made the TERRIBLE mistake of not clarifying only two ships. So if they don’t add up- That’s why oppsie.

I narrowed it down to five popular ships. As honestly I was trying to find out the least popular ship that usually very popular. It was to find out which ship happens to have the weakest in this and actually there were some very interesting comments.

A lot of BKDK ships mentioned not keeping up or just being tired of TDDK but the thing is Bakudeku is the most popular ship on tumblr. Which seems to imply if they kept up with the series it possibly it might change IF kept to the DFO theory. So I have some thoughts of how most DFO seem to perceive this specific ship.

I only counted those that were 100% believers since that is what is relevent to the topic. So those that don’t want it canon nor believe in it aren’t counted but those unsure were semi-counted.

Note I am not a professional I am someone who took AP Psychology and got a scholarship for it but that’s it. I’m no actual psychologist or scientist. This is also just my thoughts and should not be the end all be all. All ships are valid.

Now how can ships be related to Izuku’s dad being All for One you ask? Especially if kept with the chapters?

Lack of BakuDeku in DFO:

Actually a lot, because the implications of AFO being Izuku’s dad also means was in close proximity to Bakugo. That he watched and probably grew a special hatred to him. I mean this man got one of the childhood ‘friends’ and turned into a Nomu. Rest in Peace Tsubasa you were literally a child.

It only because of Izuku’s constant proximity that Bakugo wasn’t taken out. Now you think, wouldn’t that mean people ship it more since Izuku’s protecting him?

Actually, it’s the opposite! Because of Bakugou’s bullying constantly along with Izuku trying so hard to fit in to be friends it actually be terrible if suddenly disappeared. He wasn’t purposely protecting him it was literally the circumstances that protected him. Think of it from the point of view of a parent watching someone bully your kid and unable to do anything.

Everyone follows to Bakugou’s beat, he’s the leader, the cool kid, the prodigy. Do you think they would just ‘stop’ bullying Izuku when he’s gone? Hell no, now there is no ‘leader’ to construct how to bully and it could get worst. While Izuku might have become traumatized because the one he admires is gone.

Izuku is a quirkless kid and Bakugou may be a little monster but he is likely what keeps others from doing worst. Despite being the little bastard that started it.

But also, Izuku DOES admire him. He wants to surpass him and taking him out would do nothing but hurt him.

Most DFO Believers that don’t like Bakugou are begrudgingly dealing with the ‘perfect’ boy Bakugo like All for One is. Izuku admiration isn’t something that is ignored we all are aware and see that but we also can’t ignore the ten years of verbal abuse and bullying either. So in a weird way All for One is also a good way to channel that disgust without hating on him.

As how it seems Bakugo can never do anything wrong. Everyone loves him, in the manga, outside the manga, the damn classmates! He’s ridiculously talented while Izuku has to work super hard for everything he does. Bakugou never deals with consequences for his action and all we ever got was a Sorry when IZUKU is already feeling like crap as a vigilante.

Honestly I love Bakugou as a character but I can’t ship him with Izuku because of these specific issues. The only problem he had was with All Might having to save him, but that isn’t even his fault. Believing in DFO is also having to deal with the idea that the man would probably be trying to murder Katsuki out of a ‘fatherly’ desire to protect his kid.

However, for some maybe they enjoy that dramatic. The Dad unable to forgive the bully even if just reforms can be a interesting shipping dynamic. But it definitely not a popular one if you see if from a parents perspective. But for those younger or more wild in their shipping that sounds like a good time and why people could ship it even in a DFO setting!

But believing in DFO is also acknowledging there a eldritch like villain that would very much kill Bakugou Katsuki in a more personal horrific sense. Which might not be someone cup of tea.

MEANWHILE IN CONTRAST:

The most popular ships are Tododeku. With ShinDeku and IzuOcha behind but what do they have in common?

They all have GOOD relations with Izuku. There is no animosity between them, history or anything and they get along genuinely. There is no bad blood and Izuku has actively shown to enjoy being around them.

This shows that they want Izuku to be happy, they want him to be with someone without that history. The reason Todoroki is most popular is BECAUSE of his own family issues. Shoto Todoroki had a very abusive father in Endeavor who pushed him harder then most when was so small till he puked.

What cemented his popularity is during the fight, Izuku could have won. No seriously if he went all out could have punched Shoto RIGHT out of the field before could have realized it. But instead he dragged it out trying to get him to turn on his fire and he SUCCEEDED.

He made him lose his fire and Shoto smiled because in that moment he forgot his father. This is similar to ShinDeku but Deku didn’t break his bones for him like did with Shoto and did beat his ass.

Many can see the charm of Shoto ride or die personality coming through when his dad is revealed. That he could looks at Izuku and say he is nothing like his dad and mean it. Because Izuku is the one that TAUGHT him that.

Actually it also why Shinsou popular because Izuku did help him to become a hero in that fight. Can see why todoshindeku is popular.

The other Popular ships is IzuOcha is also built on the idea of they just want Izuku to be happy. To be with someone soft who can take care of him and while many likes TDDK they are ok if he ends up with Ochaco. Because she is a really sweet person who would treat him right.

If I had a bigger sample I suspected there be a lot more people with this ship but as it stands my sample is small. Tho can see many who aren’t big shippers do seem to like it too. Since they are very ‘canonly’ even if they have different ships preferred.

These are the ships that a All for One would approve of if wasn’t being evil and all. Haha!

Some Honorable mentions, Shigaraki & Deku. There aren’t many but some like the hero/villain dynamic and drama that entails.

Tho I can only imagine how awkward AFO would be having to pretend he totally doesn’t know Deku. He has no idea what you’re talking about-

Now AoDeku:

While it definitely jumped up in popularity it not as popular as I suspected. Note I couldn’t include every ships so tried to pick ones that people called special attention toward and this is one.

Now this is interesting because if you believe in Dad for One oh boy! That is a fun ride because this big scary supervillain forced this kid to watch Izuku.

This kid likely has no idea WHY or for what purpose he is to be sent to this school. Also if Izuku looks like AFO is likely stressed wondering if is his kid but no way is he going to ask. While Izuku just happily thinking they are friends.

That is a GREAT dynamic. It like having a boyfriend/friend that your dad paid to hang out with you and the drama.

It can also be quite cute because Aoyama isn’t really a bad person he was just forced to do bad things. While not as popular as the TDDK I can say the potential it has is likely why it’s quite popular in the DFO fandom.

Conclusion:

This experiment was mostly to see if the most popular ship on tumblr BakuDeku was also in the DFO community. The fact it isn’t and most people that ship that seem either iffy or just not believers seems to show either they don’t want to think too hard about the DFO connection. Deku, Bakugo and Kirishima

Okay I wanna preface this post by saying first, this isn’t a post about Bakudeku (you’re itching to call me out, I feel it, but don’t do it) and while I will be mentioning the Kiribaku ship, it will be me mostly mentioning the FANS of this ship and the ideals around that ship. If this doesn’t apply to you, please gloss over it. This post was caused by once again, seeing SOME Kiribaku’s speak absolute garbage all over Tiktok. Wrong garbage mind you. Now let me start..

When was it, that fans suddenly decided that for Kiribaku to be a ship, that suddenly people had to downplay Deku’s importance in Bakugo’s life. Yes, Bakugo use to bully Deku and he was wrong for it, he was a little fucking shithead for it. But that was in chapter one of the manga and season 1 episode 1 of the show. Where are we now? About to hit chapter 305 (leaks today whoo) and we’re about hit season 5. Things of changed, Bakugo has changed, and if you can pick up what Horikoshi is putting down, then you KNOW things have changed in their relationship.

Now what these Tiktoker Kiribaku’s like to claim is that Bakugo doesn’t care about Deku, doesn’t even LIKE Deku. That the only person Bakugo cares about is Kirishima... you can headcanon all you like that Kirishima is Bakugo’s most important person. You can 100% believe that and use it for your fanon content. But that is all it is, headcanon and fanon, because it isn’t true. And BECAUSE it isn’t true and is fanon, Do not come at people who believe CANON FACT and tell them they’re wrong and your headcanon is right.

Why does Bakugo’s relationship with Deku have to be diminished for Kiribaku’s ship to flourish? Why? When did that become a thing? because a LOT of people spread around this garbage like it’s fact.

Now i’m going to get into the major point these Tiktoker Kiribaku’s made, and what I think is the worst take i’ve ever heard. Ahem.

‘Kirishima cared about Bakugo the most which is why he went to Kamino to save him, and Bakugo cared about Kirishima the most which is why he took his hand’

I’m going to get into how WRONG this statement is.

The person who found out that Bakugo was going to be kidnapped was Deku. Deku found out during his fight with Muscular and after the fight was over, his first thought was to get Kota to safety so he could save Kacchan. He told the pussycat lady to alert everyone to Kacchan’s possible kidnapping, which is where Kirishima heard about it.

As you’d expect, Kirishima got upset and instantly wanted to go out and help protect Bakugo. Why? because he is his FRIEND. Canonly they’re not together so we are going forward with their platonic relationship, which is canon. He wanted to save his friends, as did others in the group, but he wanted to save him most. But he couldn’t. (Something we later learned was a trigger for Kirishima in season 4)

Because Deku was out on the field, he was able to go and try to save Bakugo. That boy ran around, in absolute pain to the point that some of the class commented on the fact he should be unconcious right now. But that didn’t matter because he wanted to save Bakugo. And he tried his hardest, despite being in pain and his arms not working, Bakugo gets taken, telling Deku ‘Not to come’. I like to believe he said that because Deku was injured and WOULD be killed following him, because Bakugo knows Deku would follow him into fire. Like Deku knows Bakugo best, Bakugo also knows Deku best (minus the whole looking down on him stuff, wtf Bakugo.) But because that was never established, we’ll leave that up to interpretation.

Something these Tiktokers used in their arguement was that Kirishima was the one who decided to save Bakugo, nobody else. Which.. just isn’t true at all. Another thing they said was DEKU DIDN’T PLAN TO SAVE HIM. Again, not true.

Lets go back to before Deku was in hospital and Bakugo was kidnapped. When Bakugo was gone, Deku SCREAMED in absolute DISPAIR (these tiktokers also commented that Deku hates Bakugo and all I can do is LOL, won’t even entertain that.) Deku was in such ABSOLUTE DISPAIR that he instantly went into shock. Shock, that he said, lasted for the 2 whole days in hospital, he couldn’t remember a thing. The only moment he remembers WHY he was in shock, was when the whole class were there and Todoroki told him about it.

Also at this point, while Deku is in shock, Kirishima and Todoroki had 2 whole days with a clear head to decide they were going to save Bakugo, consequences be damned.

What happened after remembering Kacchan was taken? Deku came out of his shock and burst into tears. He failed to save Kacchan and it HURT him. And then Kirishima mentions the rescue.. the rescue that he AND TODOROKI PLANNED. Do people not remember that while Kirishima had decided he was going to save Bakugo, that Todoroki ALSO had the same plan?? That if Kirishima hadn’t intended to save him, Todoroki would have mentioned the plan to Deku himself???

I 100% believe, as should ANYONE who knows Deku as a character and as someone who’s always cared about Bakugo despite him being an asshat, would have also come up with a plan to save Bakugo if he hadn’t been in hospital with damaged arms and in complete shock and disassociation.

I now want to point out a panel that people seem to forget:

For people to believe Deku doesn’t care as much as Kirishima does about Bakugo, how is it your boy is saying the complete OPPOSITE statement???

Now skip forward to finding Bakugo and AFO. While Kirishima (and Todoroki) had decided they were going to rescue Bakugo, it was Deku who came up with the plan to get Bakugo out of there. Deku planned the best possible way to get Bakugo out of there and not damage his pride in the meantime. Deku could have been selfish and have reached out for Bakugo, because we all know Deku wanted to have been the one to reach out his hand. But he didn’t because Deku knows Bakugo best and didn’t want to possibly upset him.

Bakugo, who feels incredibly insecure when it comes to Deku, how do you think he’d have reacted if Deku saved him A SECOND TIME? First the sludge villian and now Kamino? I’d wager that Deku would expect any chance of reconsilliation between himself and Bakugo to have died that moment if he’d reached out to save him.

Lets be honest, Bakugo would have taken ANYONES hand to get out of there and i’ll explain why that is true in a moment.

Another thing people seem to forget is that Bakugo didn’t tell Kirishima he was the one who should hold his hand out. Bakugo didn’t tell Kirishima that he would only take his hand. No, DEKU said this. Deku who knows Bakugo better than ANYONE. He knew, because currently his and Bakugo’s relationship was rocky, that he couldn’t risk Bakugo’s pride getting in the way of the rescue. So DEKU chose Kirishima to reach out his hand, because Kirishima isn’t someone Bakugo feels threatened by. Deku is Bakugo’s biggest insecurity, him reaching out was a risk Deku wasn’t going to place over saving Bakugo.

Again, Bakugo didn’t mention ANY of this, he didn’t even know. So how anyone came to the conclusion that canonly, this meant that Bakugo believed Kirishima to be more important than anyone else I will never know.

And when they did save him, Horikoshi put in a VERY BIG CLUE that a lot of people gloss over.

That teeth grit there was put INTENTIONALLY to show that even with Kirishima’s hand out.. he still didn’t want to take it, he didn’t want to have been saved. This is why I believe that he would have taken ANYONE’S hand. For anime fans, this teeth grit was cut out to instead focus on how close Shigaraki got to grabbing Bakugo.

Bakugo isn’t stupid, he knew he couldn’t stay. For one, he already mentioned that he was in All Mights way by being there. So he HAD NO CHOICE but to take Kirishima’s hand. And when he was saved, he addressed EVERYONE for saving him, not just Kirishima.

Now, for non manga readers, you will have to wait until season 5 to see Bakugo and Deku’s relationship flourish and I don’t want to spoil you. I’m so excited for people to see what their relationship is going to turn into and why it’s one of the most popular canon relationships in the show (and how it’s grown to be one of the biggest ships)

I will give you this though, to indicate just how much Deku means to Bakugo now without spoiling it for anyone. Anyone whos read the manga should know how Bakugo feels about Deku.

For anyone who feels that Bakugo taking Kirishima’s hand indicated how important they were to each other, i’d like to hope you have the same energy for that cover for Vol.29 of the manga drawn by Horikoshi himself. If Bakugo went back, he would have taken Deku’s hand all along. At the river, in Kamino, during the fight. Bakugo wants to hold Deku’s hand now, he wants Deku’s friendship, he wants Deku, and that is platonically canon.

The last thing I want to say is that Kiribaku as a ship can still exist without ignoring how much Bakugo and Deku mean to each other. Kirishima and Bakugo are friends, maybe even best friends canonly (though honestly i’d argue that Kaminari is closer to Bakugo but that’s my personal opinion.)

Deku’s best friends are Iida and Uraraka, but Bakugo is still the person he loves and cares about the most.

Do you see people push Bakugo down to make IzuOcha work? no.

Wanna headcanon that Kirishima is Bakugo’s most important person? Go right ahead. But don’t push it on others as fact when it’s not.

If you have to come to other peoples spaces and force your headcanon on them and disminish the utterly beautiful relationship thats blossoming between Bakugo and Deku, then maybe you shouldn’t be in the fandom. Horikoshi wants you to know how important these boys are to each other and if you can’t see that, don’t comment publically because you sound dumb.

Ship Kiribaku, but do not attack others for things that you have WRONG.

Tldr; Stop erasing Bakugo and Deku’s canon relationship to big up your Kiribaku ship and don’t force that on other people.

Okay look, let’s legit talk about krbk and izuocha/tododeku for a sec here. If you follow/have read my shit before, I’m a big bkdk and togachako shopper. If you have a problem with that, just click off it’s not that hard. Expect bkdk and togachako opinions in this post. Now without further ado, let’s talk about the relationships in these three ships.

Now, honest to god, the least toxic community out of those three is tododeku and that’s probably bc it just isn’t as big as the other two. But what I WILL say is that you guys mischaracterize Katsuki, todoroki, and Izuku the most out of all three.

It’s the one ship that I legit can’t tolerate, no actual logical reason, I just find it annoying for no reason lol. But my personal feelings, don’t really matter here! We’re talking about the actual relationship stuff.

So, what makes this ship interesting? Well I’ve got to say that it’s the fact that todoroki is the first person to teach Izuku how to save someone who does not want to be saved. He was the first person who he had to make them save THEMSELF and WANT TO BE SAVED, and that’s a major part of Izukus development. It makes him start to question the villains of society, are they really all bad? Is it possible to save them? He also had a subconscious bias as he was once apart of the “can nots” of society. Quirkless, disabled, or useless quirked people kind of fit here. Same with villainous quirks. With all of this in mind, it made him look at shigaraki and legitimately think about how to save him. Todoroki taught him that part of hero work is also saving people psychologically.

Todoroki learned a lot from deku in how to accept himself as he is. “It’s your quirk not his!” Was something that stuck with him and continued to do so after the sports festival. He was also todoroki’s first actual friend. And btw, no matter how much y’all wanna say it, todoroki is NOT in the deku squad! Todoroki is friends with Katsuki and Izuku mainly, they are their OWN friend group outside of bkg or deku squads, remember that. Part of todoroki’s development as a character was being friends with BOTH of them, so I’m sorry, but if you hate Katsuki, todoroki does not like you. Just as deku doesn’t. Katsuki is a man with a burning temper and explosive personality, but he is also a positive burning sun in both of their lives.

Tododeku together is amazing, all about making each other be better in silent but nice ways. They’re also socially awkward buddies >:) But what he is not is a replacement for Katsuki. He is not mean, never is never will be. Nor is he jealous and vindictive towards Katsuki. You could probably say that he sees him as a one sided best friendship along with him and deku. (Those titles are actually reserved for uraraka and kirishima but whatever, not the point. Let todoroki live) But it’s also not canon so we’ll just make that a funny hc that’s kinda implied lol.

And I’ll finish this little analysis of them off with, I do not care about who you like shipping with Izuku, but if you actively make Katsuki or todoroki vindictive towards the other PLEASE GOD ADD THE TAG ON AO3 “OOC TODOROKI SHOTO” BC IM TIRED OF READING IT- This whole analysis has been to say, that you can not make todoroki a replacement for Katsuki. You just can’t. And that goes for any Katsuki ship or Izuku ship, they can’t live without the other. So please god stop mis characterizing them. It’s getting REALLY OLD really fast.

Now let’s move onto kiribaku. I’m saving izuocha for last bc they’re the least controversial and I won’t have to do as much work to write them out lmao. Anywho, kiribaku! I actually enjoy this ship sometimes, it’s not my favorite, but it’s still pretty good in my book.

I think the ship is cute and important for katsukis development, as him, kaminari, sero, jirou, and even todoroki call him out on his bs. They were the first friends he really had that weren’t afraid to say “you’re an asshole” to his face even if he yelled at them. They simply didn’t care. Hell, on the second day Katsuki met kaminari, he literally fucking called his personality flaming hot garbage, and jirou even teased him. The class just didn’t tolerate his bullshit. Even deku was like “what the fuck is happening IM the one who gets teased, not him” because unlike before, Katsuki was in the hero course at UA.

He didn’t HAVE the enablers from his teachers or his classmates like he did before. Aizawa didn’t take his shit just like kirishima didn’t take his shit. And this where their relationship truly starts.

Kirishima is exactly what Katsuki needs, someone who can take his quirk, calm his temper, and will call out his bullshit. He’s both a good friend and not an enabler, exactly what he needs. He’s also got a powerful quirk, something that Katsuki at this stage has to see so that he can make the close relationships he needs. He’s pretty much deku in his mind except without the same history and a powerful quirk. Dynamic wise at least.

But just like tododeku, it’s what he NEEDS at that moment. But, unlike tododeku, kiribaku as a relationship itself is enabling Katsukis quirk discrimination. You could even argue that their relationship itself is based in the fact that Katsuki projects deku onto kirishima.

Their friendship and relationship is amazing, but if Katsuki didn’t put some distance between them, it simply wouldn’t show his true development. Kirishima was a walking example of the early part of their first year and middle school life, Katsuki and kirishimas relationship is inherently built on Katsukis flaming hot garbage takes. I legit believe that kiribaku would be MORE toxic than bkdk because of how kirishima indirectly enables Katsukis behavior.

The reason why y’all have been so starved for content unless it’s a movie or an ova is bc horikoshi KNOWS this and so does Katsuki. He KNOWS his friendship was built on seeing kirishima as an enabler for his actions. Katsuki needs to focus on healing his relationship with Izuku more than hanging around kirishima. But y’all aren’t ready for that-

Okay, controversial opinions over, it’s izuocha time.

Izuocha is actually great. I love the ship! She’s exactly what Izuku needs, someone with unquestionable, undoubtable, support and love for Izuku. From day one she believed in him. He doesn’t NEED to prove anything to show that he is worth love and appreciation. Uraraka is the support that deku would have needed in middle school or before that would push him to become a hero REGARDLESS of a quirk.

Izuocha is key to Izukus journey into becoming a hero, so lets just put aside ofa for a moment to talk about it. Lets say Izuku never ran into AM and instead had uraraka as a flame of support at aldera, maybe even before junior high. Because what Izuku would have needed to become a quirkless hero would have been three things: money/gear, training from the right person, and undoubtable love and support. He had none of those things though. Inko never believed in him, his only friend bullied him due to misunderstandings, and all might rejected the very idea of it happening. Three of the most important people in Izukus life DOUBTED HIM, completely and utterly. Even iida thought he wasn’t taking it seriously and that he would never get in. All of the other challengers thought that he was just gonna be useless competition. Unlike everyone else in his life, Izuku never had to earn love and support from uraraka.

And it’s funny how he still ending up having the same things that made him a hero AFTER getting into UA. He HAD the gear (a quirk), he HAD the training (all might), and he HAD the constant support and love from uraraka that he never had to earn. She TAUGHT HIM that he was worth something no matter what. He never had to fight a villain to prove he was something for all might, or sift through years of Katsukis issues just to earn that friendship again, or show that he had the intelligence and support to inko. He was simply allowed to exist as he was to uraraka.

And this support is not just for Izuku either, because he taught her to think about the heroes, who saves the heroes when they’re the ones in danger? Just like how todoroki taught deku how to save someone psychologically, deku did the same for her. He is a key part of her hero journey. He taught her the things she needed to know, they were entirely about lifting each other up. Away from their worries, just them being able to believe in themselves and each other.

But, that’s the early stuff. This information is.. a little out of date, don’t you think? I mean, we had ALL this tension build up from toga vs ochako 1, all about Izuku and ochako (kinda), all of this tension lead to Ochakos speech and then.. nothing. 342 frankly, should have been the confession, because all of the tension that horikoshi had been building was there and then he just let it go. For seemingly no reason. Story wise at least. Or you could make the argument that it was also building tension, okay then, what about 348? THAT chapter should have been about revealing feelings yet it wasn’t. That’s why this information, with how romantic it sounded when I described it, feels so untrue now. And I feel like izuochas also see it, they feel it and know it deep down, yet a lot of them choose to be ignorant and continue to not update their information.

That’s my problem with this ship. They were cute at first, something I wouldn’t totally reject seeing. Hell, I even looked at fandom content of them, but now it just feels like nothing. It isn’t going anywhere, because guys, their development is done! They need to be with their character foils, bkdk, shigaraki and deku, and togachako. They NEED to do the development with THESE characters. They aren’t gonna be canon, because if they were, shigafo’s fight would be about ochako and Izuku, not Katsuki.

And that’s what all three of these need to understand. I know y’all have been starved for content of them, I get that, but the reason you have been is because of the narrative with them simply being done. The development is over. This is how stories work. Take for example, peridot, from Steven universe. Her character arc was done, and I remember seeing su fans getting upset at the lack of peridot content. But she was done. Her arc was over. The same goes for here.

Get over yourselves, please. These characters are not as important to each other as much as you think they are.

almost every one. i started in a pretty small fandom and really appreciated the two consistent readers i had who commented on nearly every chapter, so i got in the habit and sort of stuck with it.

idk, i am honestly such a wuss and i think i almost always end with Happiness, lol. maybe what cannot be forgiven? i also have a one-shot that’s sort of sad under my other pseud, but honestly it’s just people growing old, so that’s different.

honestly? the college au that began my entire smut journey, lol. i basically rewrote a scene from a kakashi/reader fic that made me BIG MAD and thought about how i would write my own college au, but… it hasn’t coalesced yet and i think it’s very clear that one-shots are much more my wheelhouse than multi-chapter fics, unfortunately.

i am gonna go with what i've heard from others because i cannot evaluate myself, lol. i've had people compliment my character development and portrayal of relationships, and i hope that’s true.

P A C I N G. i will gladly spend 14 pages on a single cup of coffee and then .02 on an action scene. partially because i don’t think i'm very good at describing action and partially because i just have no idea what i'm doing, lolol.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i haven’t done it much. i have written characters who speak another language, but the story is always told from the perspective of someone who doesn’t understand it. i think i threw in 1 or 2 russian words once, but it was all very obvious from context what they meant, so i didn’t have to provide a translation or anything.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

technically, i posted exactly one chapter of my naruto longfic before anything else. but then it sat untouched for over a year while i wrote 100k+ about u.s. marshalls, lol.

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

oof. that's a toughie. probably a fantasy au izuocha one-shot. but of the lemony variety, i think i'll go with the wait is over because i wrote that shit fully for myself, lol.

God, I hate this argument so much. Just cause something fits into the themes of a series doesn’t mean it isn’t an asspull. Edgeshot came out with a power out of nowhere and chose to save Katsuki over potentially saving hundreds of other lives by being alive. This had no lead up, it just happens to happen just cause “iT fItS tHe ThEmE” and to make sure Katsuki doesn’t die.

Also, to all those reading this, DO NOT HARASS ANY OF THESE USERS! I normally blur out the usernames of these kinda things and never link, but I decided to make the exception today. I want to trust that no one will, especially since I constantly poke at the fact that Katsuki/BkDk Stans harass others and that whenever a Katsuki/BkDk fan comes to me talking about harassment they face from IzuOcha stans I’m nothing but sympathetic to them since they don’t deserve to be harassed.

My ultimate favorite character: Katsuki Bakugo!!!!! Honorable mention Neito Monoma and Himiko Toga.

Prettiest character: There’s so many. Ochako in the recent chapters may actually win this, but Katsuki is also undeniably beautiful even in death…

No, forget what I said. It’s gotta be Katsuki. It’s the red eyes.

My most hated character: …hmm. There’s characters I don’t necessarily like or think are, you know, villainous, but I enjoy them for their role in the story 99% of the time. Perhaps Mineta because he’s legitimately not that funny and that’s the greatest crime in a gag anime character. Slide n’ Go?

My OTP: Best Jeanistxdenim. Fatgumxtakoyaki.

BakuDeku. Honorable mentions TogaChako and EndHawks (or more precisely Hawks, or really any witness x The Todoroki Family Drama)

My NOTP: IzuOcha. Fuck me but I hate this pairing. Ochako deserves more and better.

Favorite episode: How about my favorite manga chapter? It’s the Todoroki family dinner.

Saddest death: After much consideration, I have to say Midnight. RIP Nemuri Kayama.

Favorite season: Um. Season 2? I have trouble with judging the anime in chunks like this.

Least favorite season: Season 5. Really a shame since I love the internship and I love My Villain Academia. But I just didn’t think it was paced well and I find the lack of novelty used in the color palette for mood lighting really disappointing.

Character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but I hate: Um. There’s not many I feel this way about, but several I am lukewarm about?

My “you’re a piece of trash, but still my favorite”: Endeavor, Dabi, Hawks, All for One!

My “beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this” favorite: almost everyone else in the cast. Toshinori. Katsuki. Tokoyami and Dark Shadow. BIG Shouto and Fuyumi Todoroki energy.

My “this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but I still love it” ship: EndHawks. Aizawa/Kurogiri. Beyond that (and including those), it’s more the high fucked up drama potential rather than any real potential romance, and how the power dynamic between the two parties would be completely and utterly twisted, especially in the public eye. Toga/Midnight; any student/Midnight (the real tragedy in both of these cases is that I believe Midnight would be the one with less power for this to happen and the most vulnerable from outside judgements looking at the situation); Toga/Vlad King. They’re not ships so much as they are horrible drama prompts that make you want to curl up and die. Arguably, I write BakuDeku this way.

My “they’re kind of cute, and I lowkey ship them, but I’m not too invested” ship: The best I’ve got is TodoMomo. Maybe KiriMina?

Okay kind of a heated question but why did so many people started throwing hate towards Toga with this chapter? I mean they did started throwing such in previous chapters, bit why so much in this chapter??? I mean i know that the majority of these people are just haters who want her dead, some who say that deku was nerfed for the plot and quite a few that are in a shipping war but i can't understand any other reason of why they throw so much hate.

Well definitely disregarding the troll who is represent sending the same shit to everyone about how Toga needs to die or whatever, and disregarding the shipping war—the only thing I personally have seen is people thinking Toga’s character has changed and suddenly started acting OOC or something for the sake of including Midoriya in the plot.

I disagree with that because I always always always expected Toga to confront Ochacko AGAIN after the war arc, AND somehow come to some sort of terms with Midoriya and Tsuyu alongside that. The only difference now to me is that Midoriya and Toga probably won’t reach friendly terms until closer to the end.

I think people were just taken by surprise that Midoriya was thrown into the Toga plot, which is fair to be surprised by, but also Toga has been seeking out Midoriya the entiiiiiiire story. This is not new. So her roping him into the Toga/Ochacko conflict is absolutely well within the set up from previous chapters.

But even with Midoriya getting thrown into it, I never expected the role to be taken from Ochacko. But I think people were upset about that possibility. But low and behold, Midoriya has fled the scene and now it’s up to Ochacko and Tsuyu.

I also think people were hoping for Toga to go seek out vengeance against Hawks, and are disappointed that she instead has chosen to focus on the heroes whose attention she’s been trying to get since she met them. And I’ve already voiced why I very very much did not like the revenge plot. THAT would have been wildly OOC to me. So I’m really glad it doesn’t seem (key word—shit could still hit the fan) like it’s going that way. I just don’t see how it would resolve or tie anything together. So I’m hoping things continue on this path. But I’ve seen people upset about that too.

I also think Toga is a bit harder for people to understand if you’re just reading this manga for fun and aren’t necessarily trying to dissect it and find underlying meanings in everything (like I and many others are lol). Toga is straight forward but also not. She’s convoluted in the way she asks for help, so it’s not entirely within the fault of Midoriya and Ochacko to kind of miss her point at first. That’s why it takes both sides working it out. Not just the hero kids, not just the LOV—BOTH have to talk and use their words. The responsibility doesn’t lie on one side. And I think Toga’s motivations and reasonings kind of fly over peoples heads. Which is fine because it will be crystal clear when her and Ochacko come to an understanding and work together in the end.

But yeah the Toga hate is wack. Idk what two ships are at war here (I can imagine one of them is IzuOcha but what is the other lmao) but that’s a dumb reason to hate Toga. I promise she isn’t gonna steal the main character lol. Anyway—that’s all I can think of.
