Fandom Racism
If you don’t want to read this, unfollow me and anyone else who is black. I’m not playing with y’all.
I’m tired of nonblack people writing Sam Wilson in predatory roles and minimizing his trauma and need for healing and therapy like everyone else - especially given that he is a black man first, veteran second, and these are canon-based fics. If you don’t understand that nuance, literally don’t write him until you can.
Yes, I just read some shit that said Sam’s pain was okay because it wasn’t worse than Bucky’s and that Zemo is some kind of generous white martyr (mind you, he used Bucky and Sam the whole show, felt no remorse for killing the black king of a black nation, and is based off of Nazi comic material). And this isn’t an uncommon occurrence.
Black and brown fans don’t have an escape because we have to experience racist bias in real life just to then read it and writers want to cry, “It’s just fiction!” instead of doing the anti-racism work on themselves. Art includes the manifestation of real thoughts and systemic biases. Art is not an excuse.
This fandom has a lot of work to do. It’s not enough to have ‘good intentions’ when you’re still putting biases back into the world that are harmful. You’re different from your grandparents, cousins, uncles? PROVE IT instead of whining when black readers are tired of dehumanization of blackness.
PS. anti-racism is a life-long journey, not reading an article and a book and calling it a day. This also extends to POC who engage in anti-blackness. Do better and check your cousins. I should not have to.
PS2. This is not only Sam Wilson, but almost every fandom that has black characters, popular or not. The issue is widespread, Sam just happens to be where my particular offense lies at the moment given that I engage with his character often.

So.
According to @demiace-wen-ning‘s iconic post, every MXTX novel has:
A red/black, morally ambiguous, all-powerful bastard man
A fan wielder who is much more than meets the eye
And a fucking Jiang Cheng
Now we, as a collective fandom, have decided with our communal braincell that in SVSSS, the “fucking Jiang Cheng”™ character is Liu Qingge. And on the surface, this seems Right and Good:
Tumblr media
HOWEVER! I posit that these aspects are only the most superficial and external aspects of the vast and multi-layered Dagwood sandwich that is fundamental “fucking Jiang Cheng”™yness. “fucking Jiang Cheng”™ has LAYERS. And for all that I love Liu Qingge, I love him in the same way I love the Sonic franchise’s Knuckles the Echidna:
Tumblr media
This is emphatically NOT how I love Jiang Cheng. Furthermore, this is demonstrably NOT the sort of character that a fandom becomes viciously divisive about. This is the sort of character you either like or dislike and move on with your life because he is not deep and complex enough to Die On This Hill for defending. (This is a Feng Xin or Nie Mingjue sort of character.)
So what makes for a “fucking Jiang Cheng”™ character? What are the quintessential “fucking Jiang Cheng”™ characteristics that result in a complex and divisive character? I propose:
ambiguous/unexplained actions
refusal to explain motives
canon selfless actions missed or negatively interpreted
socially over-conscious while still socially detested
harsh and contemptuous outward behavior
honestly, naturally is an asshole, but holds back just enough to get away with it
hard-working but overshadowed by upstart prodigy
childhood trauma that fundamentally affected behavioral patterns
aggressively focused on their cultivation and consequent social status
secretly heartbroken about a perceived betrayal regarding the protagonist
yay, war crimes!
These attributes all describe Jiang Cheng. All but the last one describe Mu Qing, with the second-to-last applying in a way where HE is perceived as the betrayer. None of these attributes describe Liu Qingge. But you know who they DO describe in SVSSS?
Shen Jiu.
The ORIGINAL Shen Qingqiu.
An undeniable asshole who nevertheless gets punished for every good deed he ever did, who clawed and scraped his way to the top of the cultivation world and ensured he stayed there no matter how many bridges he had to burn or enemies he had to make along the way, who acts like a bitter tsundere to the person who matters most to him because said person broke their promise and never explained why, whose childhood was a never-ending parade of trauma and abuse that molded him into a harsh and suspicious individual, who (though we don’t find out until the extras) shows no sexual interest in anyone, whose own path to cultivation was so difficult and traumatic that they could not stop themselves from jealously lashing out at the heaven-blessed prodigy standing right next to them.
Shen Jiu is the TRUE “fucking Jiang Cheng”™ of SVSSS, and I cordially invite any haters to bring it on because this is My Hill and I am ready to fight for it.

What do you think makes the original ATLA so good when practically every subsequent piece of spinoff media ranges from mediocre to downright reactionary? Considering some of the stuff the og creators were responsible for counts among the very worst, I don't think it can be blamed on their lack of involvement. Idk I've always wondered about this because it's so strange. Did ATLA end up being good purely by accident & nobody involved in its creation actually understood what they were doing or what?
lmfao i definitely do think masterpieces can be created purely by accident. not that there aren’t elements of careful deliberation and a lot of collaboration involved, but it really was a lightning in a bottle sort of project. like this is just conjecture bc i haven’t seen any of their other projects but apparently the creator of black sails has made some other, bad shows. or the creators of utena as well. see, even, the stupid lame ass ending to fionna and cake. there’s no guarantee that just because someone (or a creative team) can create a coherent, nuanced work means that they can replicate that success ad infinitum.
i think that where atla truly excels is in its character writing, which is why the fandom (a fundamentally character-focused phenomenon) still endures (not that they really get the characters lmao, but at least we’re all way too deeply attached to them in the first place). and the anti-imperialist politics are almost incidental to the show’s success. i’ve said before that it was much easier for liberals to critique american imperialism during the bush administration, because the invasion of iraq was completely inexcusable, and also very easy to criticize if you dress it up in children’s fantasy and always have the defense of going “no, don’t you see, the fire nation isn’t the us, it’s the prc, it’s imperial japan!! you know, our enemies…!” which a lot of people to this day actually believe — not that there aren’t allusions to other imperialist histories (esp wrt the air nomad genocide), but zuko’s whole speech to ozai in “the day of black sun” is literally a critique regarding what it means to live in the imperial core. it’s a western, american show for americans first and foremost.
…. and then lok was made during the obama administration. neoliberal identity politics abound. and don’t get me wrong, some of those identity politics were a good thing, because i love seeing milves and bisexuals and korra just like. in general. but it’s also a show that fundamentally revolves around capitalism as its central theme without every actually participating in a coherent class critique. the closest we get is mako and bolin visiting their family in the lower ring, which doesn’t count, bc that was established in atla.
however, just because atla endures in our consciousness, and i am truly finding new things to appreciate about it all the time, does not mean that it is without flaws, and so i do think that it’s pretty fair to assume that its success as a work of fiction and a work of art would of course be undermined by the economic forces that demanded it continued to expand its franchise for profit rather than out of any narrative or thematic need to do so. it always comes back to liberalism and capitalism. lol

I am not American so this an actual question: Why do people never use those American names in writing? Kayleigh, Keinleigh, or Lakesha, Shalissa? Saw those names on real people, but no one in America uses names like that in stories? And apparently for the latter names it's racist as well, but those names are actually names people have! So what gives?
--
People absolutely use those names in writing.
White Mormons writing boring het romance novels use ones like the first two all the time.
Really, I cannot emphasize enough how annoying romance novel names are to me. The reason I wouldn't name a character these names is that they look stupid.
I also associate them with demographics of white people I rarely write about.
In fic, you'll see the occasional OFC mary sue badfic with a lead with a name like this. It just depends on the author's own milieu and what names they consider normal.
--
The latter two sound like black people from the city. If you know enough to write black people from the city, great. Much of fanfic fandom is either too white or too suburban, and US media is not kind to such characters, so there's not a lot of incentive to use such names in fanfic.
Publishing overall is very racist and so are book-buying audiences, so a lead named Lakesha will not sell well unless positioned just right. Or at least that's the theory. But it's a theory that affects what mainstream US books you're probably hearing about.
When I've lived in places with black-focused bookstores, I've occasionally run across trashy fiction for a black, urban market, usually from small indie presses that cater to a black audience. Those authors know what they're talking about and will certainly name their characters names that make sense for the setting.
For me personally, it would be hard to tell the difference between an actual name and a racist parody name someone made up. I can tell when a name "sounds black", but that's not enough knowledge to pick a name correctly.
The black people I know offline mostly do not have names like this. I think it's because they're relatively rich, live in relatively non-black areas, and face a lot of pressure to pick names white people find more comfortable. Having a "whiter" name on job applications gets you interviews you will not get with a "black" name both because of racism and classism. A lot of it is probably also regional.
If I wanted to name a character, I'd do some research and choose a relatively common name with its most common spelling for safety. 'Lakesha' can be spelled that way or 'Lakeesha', 'Lakeisha', Lakisha, or Laquisha, among others. This one's, what, Arabic originally? That and Swahili seem to be the ultimate origins of a lot of names we associate with urban black communities. There are plenty of patterns here: I just don't know what they are.
--
Basically, naming characters requires a metric fuckton of sociological knowledge and just being American isn't enough to know about every demographic in the US.
Research is perfectly possible. People do it all the time for naming characters. It's just more work than picking a type of name you already know a lot about.
And on top of that, names sometimes tell you race, class, region, etc. and people may not be writing characters for whom these names make sense.

brooooo the way some be/nji shippers completely disregarded the importance of darius's character in favor of pushing their own ship was actually so infuriating. maybe if they only did it with the monorail scene it wouldn't bother me so much since kenji was shaken up by ben's "death" but no they did it with EVERYTHING. "kenji spent every day and night dreaming about ben" this and "kenji would have dragged ben back to the boat if he tried staying behind on the island" that. yeah you mean like darius??? you mean like the literal main character of the show??? ERGH it'll never not drive me up the wall
i am SO GLAD other people have noticed this 😭 me and my bestie have been bothered about dinotwt’s behavior for YEARS.
personally it’s the monorail scene itself being turned into a ben/ji moment that bothers me most. because darius is the only one who tried to save ben from falling. DARIUS. darius is the one who couldn’t save him. DARIUS. but noooo they focused on how… *checks notes* kenji fell to his knees during a quick shot instead.
i’m not sure how the shippers are on this site because all my interaction with the jwcc fandom was solely on twt, but i find it Very interesting how important moments in darius and ben’s relationship are taken from them and pushed onto ben and kenji instead. darius unable to keep hold of ben? let’s make it about kenji instead. darius having nightmares about ben? no, obviously that was kenji having those! if they weren’t so obsessed with claiming benrius is problematic, they’d clearly be fans of the ship. that’s why they take all its material and give it to be/nji 💀 it also feels weird to me that they were so intent on demonizing a queer ship that involved a black boy, but maybe i’m just reaching there. i dunno
putting shipping aside, it is just downright antiblack to take pivotal moments of the black mc’s development and make them entirely about a nonblack character. why are you so allergic to letting the black character have focus? when black people already have such small amounts of decent representation in media, especially as main characters? it angers me so much.
tldr darius (and benrius) deserved better from the fandom (and the show, but that’s a convo for another time).

"LGBTQA+ is one of the most accepting communities, you're not being targeted by other queer people!! 😤😡"
Aight, time for the list of things related to my queer identity I've been yelled at for by other LGBTQA+ people (for context: I am an oriented aroace, trans, queer, and polyamorous dude):
・Being a trans man.
・Identifying as queer/calling myself queer.
・Saying that gay And mlm are two different things, just like wlw and lesbian are two different things
・Saying that trans women are women.
・Being attracted to men.
・Not being attracted to women and people on the genderqueer/nonbinary spectrum.
・Being oriented aroace.
・Not being monogamous.
・Talking about genuinely loving men.
・Being aspec and having npd (quote the girl who yelled at me for that: "your npd made you aroace, you're just to selfish to commit to genuine love lol.").
・Not being lesbian.
・Not being pan.
・Saying that I support mspec gays/lesbians because it’s not my place to judge other people’s identities just because I may not fully understand them.
・Saying mspec, the multi spectrum, or multiromantic/multisexual (to include ply, pan, omni, bi, neptunic, uranic, and every other pluralian sexuality) instead of just bi.
・Saying that nonbinary people can present themselves as masculine, androgynous, neutral, or feminine as they want, and still be nonbinary.
・Literally just. wearing green eyeshadow????? (quote the person who yelled at me for that: “t hat's a lesbian color, bro, you're literally appropriating lesbian culture by that.")
・Presenting masculine.
・Using he/him pronouns.
・Referring to the D-Slur as tThe D-Slur (y'all want me to say a slur I can't reclaim?????).
・Saying that the og polyamory flag (the blue-red-black one with the yellow pi symbol in the middle) looks neat.
・Not using any of the new polyamory flags because I prefer the blue-red-black + pi symbol one.
・Asking if there’s a word for nonbinary people who are exclusively/only attracted to other nonbinary people.
・Hating non-men who fetishize achillean relationships.
・Being specifically Half-Asian and queer.
・Writing books about exclusively queer men/non-women, mostly to cope with trauma stuff (apparently if your writing doesn't consist of a trillion sapphics, two gay fathers that get three seconds of screentime, and the occasionally non-human nonbinary person, it's automatically bad writing???? Okay damn. Sorry for focusing on my own experiences, I guess?).
・Not necessarily wanting to get married or have a romantic/sexual relationship.
・Shipping two characters in a queerplatonic way instead of a sexual/romantic one.
・Headcanoning a popular fandom character as aroace.
・Mentioning aroallo people.
・Saying that straight asexuals and straights aromantics are LGBTQA+ since that's what the A stands for.
・Not being T4T (I just wanna love men in peace fuck off with your "but cis men are horrible!! 🥺🤢😱 Limit yourself to trans men because I said so!! 😤🤬🤬"-Bullshit).
・Using someone’s neopronouns.
・Supporting xenogender people.
・Headcanoning a canonically lesbian character as trans female.
・Saying that I want more representation of achillean, aroace, trans, and asexual men in media.
・Asking asking someone who knew I used he/him pronouns to not refer to me with they/them (like, girlie, that’s called misgendering).
・Mentioning that women can be aroallo.
・Saying that people who don’t label their genders/sexualities can be LGBTQA+ too.
・Saying that two pan women I know in reallife dating each other aren’t lesbians because... they’re both pan?
・Mentioning that queer men should always be welcome in queer spaces.
・Saying that amab nonbinary folks can be lesbian.
・Wanting to go on T.
・Jokingly referring to my tiddies and my pussy as boys.
And last but not least,
・Saying "people", "y'all", "esteemed guests", or "everyone present" instead of "ladies and gentlemen".
I dunno, homie, I actually do feel a little targeted here.

A Pleasant Ruse
Fandom: Supergirl
Characters: Kara Danvers, Lena Luthor, Andrea Rojas, Alex Danvers, Winn Schott
Summary: Lena runs into her ex-Andrea who wants her back. Lena panics and tells her that Kara is her girlfriend. Will Kara be willing to help Lena keep up the ruse?
Lena looked at her phone and sighed as she walked down the street. L-Corp stock was down again after Lex’s latest stunt against Superman. The Board was at each other’s throats about what to do. Normally, these things didn’t get to her, but today she just felt like curling into a little ball and hiding in the middle of nowhere.
“Sometimes I wish I could go somewhere where no one knew my name,” muttered Lena.
Normally, she would wallow in her apartment and drink the night away, but she knew she didn’t have to do that anymore, especially with Kara and her friends. She blushed when she thought of Kara. Every time she smiled, it would light up the room. She was hoping a little of that light would rub off on her today. When she called Kara an hour ago, she was happy that she was available to talk but was wondering if Lena would be able to do so at Noonan’s. She was saving seats for some of the others in their friend group. Lena would rather they be alone, but she realized that she did call Kara out of the blue without necessarily considering her current plans. Also, her curiosity was piqued. Noonan’s wasn’t normally opened passed 10 p.m. during the week. However, it was currently 10:39 p.m.
After five more minutes, she began to see the outline of Noonan’s but was surprised to see not only was the place lit up, but there were multiple cars parked down the block. As she got closer, she noticed that the place was packed. It was more crowded than the morning rush. When she got inside, Lena looked around the crowded room and smiled when she saw Kara hopping up and down waving at her from the back. She shook her head and tried to maneuver her way towards Kara.
As she got closer, she nearly stopped and blushed. Lena didn’t notice before because she could only see Kara’s face and arms when she was at the front of the restaurant, but now that she was in front of the blonde, she was surprised at what she was wearing. She had on a green short-sleeved crop top, black short shorts, and brown hiking shoes. Her hair was flowing down her back. The entire outfit highlighted Kara’s muscular form. Kara usually wore things that covered her fully. She didn’t realize that Kara had a hardcore twelve-pack abs, and toned legs and arms. She gulped when Kara hugged her tightly. She could feel the heat in her face growing. Lena had to fight to keep her arms next to her instead of caressing her abs.
“Lena, I am glad that you were able to come out!” exclaimed Kara excitedly.
“Me too,” squeaked Lena.
As they went to sit down, Kara stared at her with a frown.
“Are you ok? Your face looks a little flushed and you are panting.”
Lena tried to seem unfazed but felt like her brain was in overdrive.
She started fanning herself and shakily said, “I’m, um, fine. Yes, I am fine.”
Kara stared at her hesitantly and said, “You don’t seem so sure.”
Lena let out a nervous laugh and said, “Don’t worry. I just got winded trying to get back here. I don’t think I have ever seen this place so packed before, even during their morning rushes.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that they are having an event here tonight. You know the author Helena Bromfield?”
Lena nodded and said, “Ah, yes! She has a bunch of popular action books.”
“Yup! That is the one. Well, she is having a book reading for her latest novel: Alana and the Lost Civilization of Atlantis at midnight tonight. She will then host a Q&A followed by a book signing. That is why a lot of the people here are in costume.”
Lena looked around and felt a little foolish. She had been so focused on seeing Kara that she didn’t notice the outfits everyone was wearing. They all looked like they were out of some archeological action movie. Lena shook her head and stared back at Kara.
“I never took you as one that was into cosplaying. You look very good as Alana.”
Lena felt her face flushed again and looked down.
Good doesn’t begin to describe it. She looks sexy as hell.
Lena had to slowly breathe in and out to try to control her racing heart. Lena had secretly been a fan of Bromfield’s work. Her mother always disapproved of sci-fi and fantasy. Her thoughts were living in reality was more important than make-believe. However, the books offered her a brief escape from all the trauma of that household, mostly done by Lex. She would imagine going on an adventure with the Great Alana as she explored distant worlds and planets. She recently had been fantasizing about Kara as Alana and whisking her off on an amazing adventure. The thought caused her to blush harder.
Can’t believe I get to live out part of my fantasy!
Kara chuckled while rubbing the back of her neck and said, “Thanks! I wasn’t sure if I could pull this off.”
Lena stared at her dumbfounded.
She thinks she couldn’t pull it off! She looks ten times better than the initial character description for Alana. I am surprised that guys and girls aren’t flocking to her now!
Lena cleared her throat and said, “You pull off the look amazingly. I’m surprised the other people cosplaying as Alana don’t look at you with envy.”
Kara blushed while laughing.
“You are too kind.”
They looked at each other shyly for a moment before Lena asked, “If the book reading doesn’t start until midnight, why are people here so early?”
“Good seating. Alex made me promise to get here at 9 to save seating for her and Winn since they wouldn’t be able to get here until after 11. I got here at 10, and I had to fight people in order to get this booth since it was so packed.”
Lena chuckled which caused Kara to frown.
“What’s so funny?” pouted Kara.
“I didn’t mean to laugh. It is just that I wished I had gotten here sooner to see you try to defend your territory.”
Kara chuckled and said, “It didn’t get nearly as dramatic as that. I just gave a very stern look until they backed off.”
Lena raised an eyebrow and said coyly, “Really? A stern look?”

do you think that team black Stans takes this hotd war topic too much And They are very much hypocrite ?? I was new in this fandom and stand with team black. I hate to say this many of them spoil whole fun on Twitter debate.I have seen their jealousy alot at Aemond getting more attention than some of their characters by audience. They made stories about him like he r@ped Alys. They would have hated daeron if he was there since first season lmao. What's your take on team black stans. Don't mistake me as a Aemond wife. I am against team green but admitting I kinda liked his character only as villian. Helaena is the only person I love in team green
EXACTLY ! This..... EXACTLY this.. see firstly m not a team supporter or stan here. I am just enjoying d show till it's tolerable😅. I just want a good show dat's it. I am not on Twitter thankfully, I am well aware what goes on there n you can hate Aemond all u want. He's a villian ofcourse 🙏🏻
Fire and blood was boring but show has chance to be better atleast though if they ever want to try😑... Regarding ur take , it's gonna be bit long now as I don't do this long stuff unless it's a fic😭
lemme tell the truth now.... ik many dumb ones are not gonna like it 😂
yes there are majority of hypocrite team black Stans who would make up these bullshits mainly with Aemond like "they gave Jace's qualities to Aemond, Aemond r*ped Alys". Jace's one was the most random 😂
bitch... like where you thought after reading the book n watching show that they gave Jace's qualities to Aemond 💀😭 ??? Where... I read the book too😂. My friends who actually introduced me to hotd who are book purists too , even they laughed on this theory when I told them.
" Jace and Aegon were adapted exactly the way they were in the books ! " It's a fact Listen I love Tom Glynn Carney too (like how can you not🥵) but sorry to those Aegon girlies who were just saying that they forcefully made Aegon a r*pist. He was like this in the book very much. They both were shown correctly how they should have been in s1.
Both green and blacks were given some good and bad shots equally in show. Bad n good shots for God's sake doesn't mean one is Angel and other one being devil. It's about writing or storyline regarding both teams. N this whole jealousy or hypocrisy towards Aemond of some team black stans is nothing but a childish stupidity to me and it's obvious that Aemond would get alot attention in show than many N y not ? 🤦🏻‍♀️
[ top 3 characters from both teams will get attention. Show will be divided into two teams from Team black it's Rhaenyra, Daemon , Colrys n (someone with corlys) who would be focused more N from team Green it would Alicent, Aegon, Aemond. Majority of Attention would be given to Rhaenyra, Alicent n Aegon as they are main 3 . It should be very much clear to every person who read the book , to me it was as I read only after watching the S1 trailer. Wasn't this very much obvious in the book. ]
Also Aemond never r*ped or assaulted Alys in the book. We never got inside of their relationship in book. He can in the show though🤷🏻‍♀️.... if makers want to. He took her as war prize which was very much common for every guy winning war.
Honestly Alys was far yrs older fucking powerful witch😭 she would eat Aemond alive be fr if she wanted to. She would have killed him way easily in starting itself . Yes there relationship was problematic n it was power imbalance both sides. They both were using each other. Aemond was clearly under her spell or either for her powers and so was Alys. Who was taking her best from Aemond's position whatever she could get from both sides.
If Grrm lit wanted to show that Aemond r*ped Alys he would have done it very well like he does this with his all other characters who were actually r@pists but he didn't. On the contrary side he wrote Aemond as evil goth twink who never wanted to scare the ladies at court n wore eye patch bcz of that😂. Same guy was making out with his floris and fell hard under spell of strong bastard witch calling her 'my lady !'
Let me clear that also Aemond not being a r@pist doesn't make him a less bad person either. He was a sadist tyrant n murderer psychopath in book. This is what made him a villian or bad guy. But the problem with some team black Stans is that they knew that audience will start giving him the ' typical Kylo ren' treatment which he's getting. ( Idk how one cannot see this coming after reading dance of d in FNB, it was very much predicted I knew it). They don't want to give any good points to any team green characters in their silly game. Like as if audience don't hype bad guys more than good guys😑.
Same way when same audience hyped Daemon more than Harwin then they don't have any problem but if audience likes Aemond n Daeron more than team black kids then their ass hate to see this n would write whole new made up reasons for not to like any team green member while cheering any other character which they like for same thing.
Funny thing is that many team black daemon lovers would write how he was right man, he killed all r*pist from city while this is the same daemon who fucks literally little girls who are prostitutes n loves it which is very much written in book. Ofcourse mysaria was with him since her childhood. As prostitutes have no other options. Taking prince like daemon and Aegon was better for their survival.
He is canon p*dophile in book but yes if Aemond is r@pist then Daemon's account of doing r@pe is way higher than Aemond even before when Aemond was born. Now why would those black Stans admit this ? 😂 never....... Believe me when I say that some of them are that level of jokers who would say that Maegor is good and daeron is bad just because he is from team green.
I really like daemon too n daemon had his bad qualities n good qualities both 🧡atleast I like the way he is . It clearly shows that some Stans they cannot even like or hate the character for what they are. They are dumbass kids watching some cartoon fight with two team. They just want to hate one team for any reason n like other team for any random reason
Mind you....many of them even hate Helaena unnecessary but same time would love Laena and for what ????🤡🤡
what I hated regarding Aemond in show :-
now things I accept that Aemond not killing Luce was very much wrong and I hated that too. Because it was not good for plot tbh for me. It's just messing up with already messed up world building. Aemond as a villian got a very much reason to Luce n y should he not ? now that's thing I genuinely think that was done wrong regarding Aemond's character, people hating it is very much justified because it very much makes luc's death stupid rather than sad.
But making up reasons like they gave everything to Aemond like they didn't made Aemond totally bad during drift mark scene as we get sympathy for rhaena n we understood her reason for being angry on Aemond atleast n Aemond insulting her. but in books it's lit Nyra's kids who were not minding their own business n Aemond was just beating them n throwing them far away from him instead of killing them with rock like in the show but ofcourse this wasn't visible to team black Stans. Because in the book honestly Aemond was very much correct during drift mark scene.
They removed viserys's taunting Aemond regarding dragon which was very important.
They showed Harwin beating Criston but we all know it was Criston who took both Harwin and Daemon easily and so many of I started to count regarding team green were done equally wrong.
just see the dumbness and hyporcrisy I once saw Darkling and rhys Stans saying bullshit about Aegon and Aemond 😂😂. Same Darkling who physically assaulted Alina, abused her. The one who gave little girls like Genya to get r@ped by the old hag king for his benefit n
the way LB wrote him I can very say that she hated him as well. And Rhys is whole another level bullshit 😂if started to write. They were not even a good written bad guys. These same idiots would typing whole ass reasons to like them. It's funny that Darkling supporters would hate Otto hightower as if they aren't the same thing 🤣. Otto slays more as compared Darkling.
many of them pretend to care about representation saying that 'Jace should not have Sara n it would hurt baela n would make her unwanted ' while same time giving thousand reasons of there was nothing bet Nettles and Daemon so that it would not harm their Daemyra. So many of them were happy when there wasn't any news regarding nettles. ( It's not only team black , many of team green stans r equally hypocrite here you asked me of team black )

Complexly Chaotic
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Sirius Black x Reader, Remus Lupin x Reader
Characters: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, You, Reader
Word Count: 968

TAG LIST // MASTERLISTS & INFO
‘Oh god,’ you pant, snapping Sirius from his thoughts and bringing him back to reality. Not that he knew how he could lose focus in a moment like this, how not even warm wet cunt was enough to engage his mind long enough to stop it drifting. But, like every single time before it happened again because as incredible as these moments were they were always over too soon and that’s why his mind strayed, wondering when the next time would be, wondering how long you’d torture him before you let him back in.
He didn’t know how it had happened. How at some point he’d essentially become his best friend’s surrogate penis. All he knew was that he was no more able to say no to you than he was to Remus. That when his friend had explained his lack of interest wasn’t a lack of interest at all but fear, shame and sheer fatigue, his condition marring another aspect of his life, Sirius’ had felt for him.
And then, as Remus explained he couldn’t, he wouldn’t, let his condition affect you Sirius had gawped as he’d floated the insane idea between them. A way for you and him to exist without you having to sacrifice as he did. And as Remus had pointed out to an agog Sirius, who better to do it than a friend. A friend who would see you right. A physical thing nothing more.
Yet what Remus hadn’t realised was just how much more than physical it was for Sirius. How he’d thought about you just as you were now, bent over with him buried to hilt inside of you, your breathy little moans not masked by the sound of the running water, spattering against the weathered tiles of the changing room shower. How he’d thought about doing this a million times before he’d ever gotten the chance to. How he’d trade this to have just an ounce of something real with you. How he wanted to kiss you, hold you, love you.
Except after this you wouldn’t do any of that. After this you’d simply offer him the same shy look you gave him after every time, as if he hadn’t come apart at the seams by your very being. After this you’d trudge back to the castle, the pair of you going your separate ways until he inevitably found you and Remus together, cuddled up on a sofa in the common room or in his bed, low murmurs and faint kisses the only thing for him to hear as he pushes his head into the pillow, praying the thin canopy would shield him the way a wall would.
As the image of Remus flashes in his mind he forces it out. He couldn’t think of him, not now. Even if it had been his idea, a simple favour that the two of them need never speak about, thinking about him still filled him with guilt.
Because how could a friend do this?
‘Sirius,’ you moaned, back bending as you flopped against the wall for support, the sound of wet skin against cold tile ridiculously lewd in his ears.
‘Hold on,’ he commands as if the fact you’re thinking of him isn’t enough to make him bust right there. As if he doesn’t revel in the fact that even if this is an insignificant physical thing it’s still him you’re focused on, it’s still him you want if only for ten minutes after quidditch practice.
‘Can’t,’ you whimper and as you lose footing, your tiptoes finally unable to support you in ecstasy, he realises it’s helping him go deeper, spearing you in half as you cry out his name, clenching around him until he’s calling out yours, spilling into you the way he tells himself he never should.
The water’s cold when he comes around, forehead buried in between your shoulder blades where he’d hid himself to anything that wasn’t you and him, but you don’t seem to care. As you disentangle yourself from him you don’t seem to notice how your skin is now covered in goosebumps but he does. He notices everything about you, like he always has.
It was him who noticed you first. It was him who spoke to you first, who made you laugh first and him who introduced you to Remus. It was him who’d thought he’d get bored of you and stepped aside so that his friend could have a shot. It was him who’d fell in love with you before Remus even had the chance to.
Remus.
It’s like his presence is with you after, lingering between you as you clean up and get changed. Nothing’s changed of course, as he trudges back to the castle it’s just you and him except he can feel the distance now. As if you leave an extra gap for the boy who should be there. The boy he probably could’ve, would’ve, convinced this arrangement was ludicrous if it didn’t benefit him so much.
As you reach the courtyard he can hear the thrum of people on the other side of the doors and he knows that once you go through them that’ll be it, well, until you have another itch that needs scratching. Which is why he’s surprised when you lean in and kiss him, closing the gap and pushing Remus out of the picture a little while longer. It’s wildly inappropriate given how many people could potentially spot you and yet he can’t find it in him to care because even as he watches you flee inside, cheeks red in the low lamplight, he can’t help but feel that you’re seeing him, seeing what he sees in the two of you.
And even with the guilt, the complexity and chaos of it all, he kind of hopes for that.

For the meme: 7, 8 and 12 for Joey, 25 for Tristan?
Fer Joey:
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I like how we've all mutually agreed that in even in a universe where we can have tricolored hair with two separate textures entirely, Joey is still absolutely a bottle blonde with naturally just plain black/brown hair. Incredibly real of him. Also I like the dog symbolism I realize it was overused as a way to make fun of him but I'll be damned if that man isn't the human equivalent of a beaten-up street stray thats been recently adopted and isn't quite sure what to do with that but is taking the change of pace enthusiastically.
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise? LISTEN. listen. Joey Wheeler may be dumb, but for the love of God, he isn't stupid. Yes he may be a little easily distracted and has a hard time focusing in school, but he is usually shown to be quick-thinking when he's in a practical situation and adapts incredibly quickly. Plus, he seems relatively good at judging people on a dime; he figures out Rishid isn't Marik in literally under an hour of seeing him face-to-face.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character? He is permanently on a Sleepover Roulette with all of his friends so he's only actually at his dad's house like... once or twice every week.
Fer Tristan:
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire? You know I am choosing Ryou. We see so little of it and yet it fascinates me. "That idiot! Did he wear the Milllennium Ring again?!" indeed. The fact that he seems to worry about Ryou the most when literally nobody else does is. Just. Theres so obviously Something going on there the problem is that they are just the most background characters to have ever backgrounded so we aren't shown whatever deep bond of friendship and worry for each other they're forming off-screen rip. Also I think "street punk vs. polite young rich boy" is an incredibly funny friendship dynamic.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Will I ever get enough of these? No? Thanks to @liminalmemories21, @strandnreyes, @welcometololaland, and @reyesstrand for the tags!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
45. RIP to the lost works of my OG fandom, published on a ship board/archive that no longer exists. (I still have most of them, they just won’t be seeing the light of day. Like ever.)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
368,184. (Again, RIP to all those now-unpublished words — with them I’d be somewhere around 800k.)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
LOL So glad this question is phrased the way it is. Right now, I’m only actively writing in 911 Lone Star fandom, though I have a WIP in Magicians fandom that I fully intend to finish. Historically, I’ve written in about 40 fandoms (36 on AO3), most with a single fic. Thanks, Yuletide!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ashes and Flame (Every You and Every Me), The Hunger Games Trilogy (I get a kudos email for this one at least five times a week. How are people still finding and reading this little fic?)
Lost in Translation, The Losers
Deck the Halls with Daddy Issues, pre-film Avengers MCU
Big Girl Pants, New Girl
Shells of a Long-Ago Lifetime (Faces That Once Were Mine Mix), Supernatural
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
99.9% of the time, absolutely. Comments are my biggest motivation — the serotonin section fuels my muse. If people take the time to tell me they read and enjoyed a fic (especially if they tell me why), I like to at least thank them for that. There have been times when Real Life has been Happening A Lot and comments on the more popular stuff have gotten by me, and I feel weird about going back months after the fact to respond — that Hunger Games fic, for instance, has a couple pages of unanswered comments.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Posted, probably Of All Our Yesterdays. I am typically an Angst with a Happy Ending writer without fail, but the boys of the Black Dagger Brotherhood don’t do typical happy, and Phury is lowkey the angstiest of the bunch.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I’m actually gonna say scenes from an unfinished story, because I think Quentin Coldwater having this happy ending, the way this one happens, is the biggest fuck you to show canon and its creators that I could possibly craft.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I recently got my first hate comment! I posted about it, but I’ve also left it up in all its glory.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do now! Not that I haven’t in the past — I wrote several het scenes for my very first ship, and Quentin and Eliot had some delightful married kitchen sex we picked up right in the middle in What Baking Can Do — but I feel like Tarlos has really helped me unleash my inner smut writer. My smut from Carlos’ POV has a lot of feelings (LOL), but the stuff I’m writing from TK’s POV is a little sillier and dirtier and more fun. With feelings.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do love me a good crossover. Outside of canons I’ve crossed that exist in the same universe (We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, in Jessica Jones/Luke Cage fandom, plus And to All a Goodnight, for two Jennifer Crusie books), I once wrote tens of thousands of words of a ridiculously plot-heavy Roswell/Angel crossover that will forever hold a soft spot in my heart, a randomly cracky and super angsty Supernatural/Grey’s Anatomy, and a minor character-focused Supernatural/Sarah Connor Chronicles, Requiem, that I still sort of love a lot.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
That Hunger Games fic has been swiped a few times. Weird.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Again, the Hunger Games fic — it exists somewhere on the internet in Dutch. And that one, the SPN/TSCC crossover, and an old Dexter fic, Dinner and a Show, have been podficed.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! An old friend and I once cowrote ~25k of our idea of fluff, which was basically hijinks, smut, and torturing our leading man with a boom box and Billy Joel.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
For ships that I’ve written… Hmm. I think, before I wrote to build a home, I would’ve said it was a tossup between Tarlos, Queliot, Chlollie, and Jules/Robin from Troubleshooters, but now there’s just no contest. Weewoo Husbands for the win. For ships in general, Tarlos still tops the list, alongside the ones I mentioned, the OT3 (Eliot/Hardison/Parker), Arthur/Eames, Phedre/Joscelin from the Kushiel’s Legacy books, Frank/Karen from the Netflix Marvelverse, Aidan/Sally from Being Human US, and my MCU crack cube of Steve/Nat/Bucky/Sam.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
God, this is such a throwback, but it’s probably Adagio in B-Flat, the Sherlock music porn murder mystery I half wrote and got hopelessly blocked on.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, I’d say, especially banter. And understanding characters, I guess? I’m good at making characters sound like themselves, whether they’re speaking or internalizing. And, I’m now proud to say, plot. That’s something I wouldn’t have dared to claim this time ten years ago.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oof. Brevity. I have completely lost the ability to write short (and, by extension, to the point). I’m also the slowest writer in the world, thanks to my tendency to edit every sentence within an inch of its life.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
My Lone Star mutuals are laughing right now. Clearly I hate it. 😊 I’ve written three fics that feature Spanish, two sort of significantly, and all my old Firefly fics have some Mandarin in there somewhere.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
OG Roswell. So much OG Roswell. Michael/Liz, specifically, with a side of Kyle/Isabel.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
It almost feels like cheating, since it’s my most recent fic (and the only one I’ve published so far in my current fandom), but I’m so stupidly proud of to build a home. Carlos is such a touchstone character for me that writing him was oddly therapeutic. And I think I’ve said this before, but writing the two of them together was like the evolution of the clarity I found writing Queliot, which was the first time I’d really explored a ship in fic where I loved both halves of the pairing even close to equally — it helped me unearth my Carlos and who he is in my heart, but it also helped me uncover the true depth of my love for TK.
No pressure tagging @orchidscript, @heartstringsduet, @never-blooms, @rmd-writes, @walkinginland, @paperstorm, @mixtapestar, @catanisspicy, and @alrightbuckaroo!

Thanks for the tag, @justaboot!
how many fics do you have on ao3?
22!
what's your total ao3 word count?
171,863
what are your top five fics by kudos?
You're the Inspiration, The Heart of This Star-Crossed Voyager, Circumstances and Control, Wait, What? and A Definitely Real Man
what fandoms do you write for?
Mostly DuckTales (2017), and occasionally the Topolino duckverse comic.
do you respond to comments? why or why not?
Most times! It makes me really happy to engage with somebody who took the time to leave a comment!
what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hands down, There Was Never Grey In Black and White. It's one of the few Mad Ducktor stories I have. I really wanted to do a deep-dive character analysis on that one and explore the tragedy of his character.
what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
That's a hard one! I try to have all of them end on a happy note. When it comes to angsty stories tho, I really try to make sure the happy endings are good and earned... so, I'll have to go with Who Am I?
do you get hate on your fics?
No, thank goodness! I've gotten some harsh criticism on a chapter of one of my stories, but I wouldn't quite call it hate.
do you write smut?
No, not generally. Both reading and writing smut makes me very uncomfortable, especially for cartoon characters (I know not every other ace/sex-repulsed person feels that way, tho). I did, however, write a spicy fenro story once. But it wasn't straight smut for the sake of it, it was very tender and hurt/comfort.
do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've ever written?
No, for the most part I can't stand crossovers. Unless it was logical, like Count Duckula crossed with DuckTales.
have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, thank goodness!
have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but it would be neat!
have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yup, the amazing @wacky-nameless-inventor-24 co-wrote a chapter in two of my stories, respectively.
what's your all time favorite ship?
FENRO. I will die with that ship.
what's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have a couple of unfinished wips on FF.Net- a Darkwing Duck story that's over a decade old, and an Inside Out fic. I just lost inspiration for them and nobody reads them anymore, so XD
what are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and descriptive language (especially metaphors and similes).
what are your writing weaknesses?
Run-on sentences! I have a hard time making my sentences shorter; I may overuse dashes, brackets, and semi-colons.
thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Sadly, English is my only language.
first fandom you wrote for?
Sonic the Hedgehog, specifically the 90s cartoon of the same name (commonly known by the fandom as SatAM). That was way back in high school!
favorite fic you've ever written?
Who Am I? holds a very special place in my heart. It was my first DT story, and my love letter to my favorite episode 'Astro B.O.Y.D.', a love letter to Gyro (and the father-son relationship we hardly saw anything of in the third season). It's very angsty, taking even more inspiration from the 'Astro Boy' anime and manga the episode lovingly parodied, and focusing on the darker points of the lore.

✧ ˚ · . DL;DR - this fic is not meant for anyone under the age of 18 as it contains the following: dirty talk, use of petnames ( sweetheart, princess, etc ), unprotected p/v sex, -wrap it before you tap it, darlings, swearing, mention of oral sex, body fluids, creampie -because Harrington has a weak pullout game, kissing/saliva and just a pinch of biting/marking. writer does not give permission for her works to be reposted, with or without permission. ✧ ˚ · .
prompt three - masturbation; bonus blurb
character | fandom - eddie munson | stranger things
reader | original character - female reader, neighbor & non -or vague, description.
words - roughly 360
tagging - < taglist here >
✧ ˚ · . eddie likes to touch himself and think of you..✧ ˚ · .
Strong hands pump his cock furiously, doe eyes flutter closed as his head falls back against the headboard at his back.
All Eddie Munson can think about is the way you like to leave the curtain to your bedroom open and forget about it, wandering around totally nude in front of it after your shower. The way water droplets shimmer beneath shitty overhead lighting as you unwrap your hair and let it fall down your back, flipping it over to scrunch product into a wild and bouncy mane. Or the way you wander around with that oversized t shirt and a pair of gym socks white with a black band around the top - I wonder if she wears panties.. what kind of panties.. I bet they're white, he thinks to himself.
You don’t even know he’s watching but he’s memorized every little part of your body and now, alone in his bedroom at the trailer across the street, he’s taking the parts he’s memorized and he’s combining those together with that wet dream he woke up covered in cum to at 6 am on a Saturday.
If he focuses hard enough, he can smell that sweet cheap perfume you’re always wearing.. He can just about feel your soft skin against his. He can imagine himself fucking up into your pretty little pussy and not the palm of his hand, he thinks to himself that you’ll probably be stuffed, walls clenched  tight around his member and weeping. Your tits bouncing as his hands squeeze your hips and he slams you up and down on his thick, veiny cock.
He can feel himself about to shatter so he slows down. Or he tries to, but then he imagines how many times he’d make you cum, the way you’d sound moaning his name and the boy just can’t stop in time, his cock is throbbing, sticky cum rolling down it’s length as his thrusts turn sloppy and a bead of sweat rolls down his forehead after dripping off a frizzy curl.
He lies there in the dark for a second or two and while he’s counting ceiling tiles and letting the high of orgasm wear off, he’s telling himself that tomorrow.. Tomorrow is the day he’ll finally talk to you at school.

I'll never understand fandoms that take the pastiest Whitey McWhiteface the Whitest White-person to ever have whited, and then turn that one into a brown character in the fandom's widespread (whitespread) fanon. Especially if the show/story/game already has some good well written brown/black characters who barely get any love, and constantly get ignored in favor of Whitey Whiterson. I understand it even less when considering that many of those stories are written by white people, and for some reason every person latches on to these white characters in stories focusing on white people, by said white authors, and then turns them brown, instead of just giving woefully under-represented brown/black authors a chance with their ACTUALLY brown/black characters. Actually telling brown/black stories that actually factor in brown/black culture, and experiences. Nope, instead we have Pasty McPaste who's white enough to give you eye-strain if they stood in the sun, becoming a honorary brown/black person in the fandom. I swear, besides Anime, almost every Western fandom of any notable size seems to be based on the works of white people, and virtually no fandom based on works by brown/black authors.
--
Weeell...
I mean, on one hand, yes, this is very annoying. I wish people would give lesser known or less-popular-on-AO3 things some love.
On the other, I do think people sometimes just want a blank slate character who isn't treated in a loaded way by canon. Often, they want the one with the most screen time. (Despite fandom constantly crying about the rare ship of randos, a lot of fannish attention is fixed on characters who hog their narratives, and even well-written nonwhite side characters often get shafted on screen/page time.) Or maybe they don't identify with the cultural trappings found in a lot of media about brown/black characters but still want someone who looks like them.
But yes, I am all for us boosting up the sorts of authors of original works we want to see more of and not wasting all our time on the stuff that's already famous.

I'm sure this has been said time n time again about every fandom in existence specially on the internet but last night I specifically had a rather unpleasant encounter in a tag I was perusing where I'm pretty sure one of my analysis posts was being vagued and misread in pretty bad faith.
And what stuck out to me is that specifically the way it was misread was as if I would be calling out a character by pointing out the themes their presence brought to the narrative, as if this would somehow make them Problematic and in general I am just incredibly disillusioned with the tendency online fandom spaces have to get caught up in categorizing every character and story and setting into problematic or not problematic, acceptable or not acceptable to like.
It's like... I didn't make that post to call out the character I was focusing on, i made that post to analyze the themes their behavior brought to the table and how it may have been thought out by the writers to make the audience reflect on these type of behaviors and how to better themselves. Specially even I said the younger audience would benefit from having their actions as a lesson.
And yet fandom has become so allergic to admitting any character may have deeper flaws that they either will deem them irredeemable out of "duty" because of their flaws or will instead get angry at the people who point these flaws out because they want the character to be read as perfectly innocent and non problematic and perfectly acceptable to like, a Character that Won't Get them a Call Out.
And its so, so frustrating because I would rather 1000 times have a complicated character with flaws and problems and a multi-faceted personality that still tries to be good and struggles than a character that's just. Funny or tragic but playing it safe so not in any way that would render them a 10 page twitter thread on why they suck and their fans suck or whatever. It's all so unserious. Media is part of art is part of culture is a conversation. Why would you want to simplify a complex message into something black and white that you can then hold over peoples heads?
And I mean sure i guess it is part of the deal that communication also opens itself to the possibility of being misunderstood, part of the conversation will also involve people watching media to interpret it in different ways than intended. But it just feels, again, a little frustrating that i put in time and work to make an essay about the overarching themes of a show and how the characters i like and their arcs relate to it and in turn to each other, only to be read as "omg I can't believe you think this character is problematic how dare". Hello. That is not what I said.

Stumbled upon your blog yesterday and realised you were the one behind the Utena Bet On it AMV, plus all the other videos on that channel! I had a friend who had already watched RGU reccomend the show to me and when I finished the finale she sent me a bunch of videos, essays, meta, memes she really liked about Utena. Out of the videos your vine videos, your bet on it amv and your tiktok sounds utena videos all featured as Things U Gotta Watch. Top Tier. And they are! I cannot stress how good they are. I've got a friend I'm trying to get to watch utena and I'm already prepared to send your whole channel her way.
Like, your Bet On It amv is just crazy - to the point I associate the whole song with utena instead of high school musical. High School Musical Who? I have driven home from work with the song blasting and in my head I'm thinking of the corrosponding imagery in my head. listened to the song a LOT just thinking of the amv. 'blame the world but never blame you' and it focusing on anthy. the start 'everybodys tryna get in my head' with everyone who manipluates utena? the bridge speeding up through all their utena/anthys relationship until utena gets up again at the climax of the song? This video is a masterpiece.
The vines and the tiktok sounds are soooo spot on and hilarious. every onee. and seeing an upbeat version of 'empty chairs at empty tables' to the end of utena emotionally altered something in me oh my lordie. I got introduced to the song The Draw from your other amv, which is SO PERFECT for the black rose arc?
And as a Lizzy McApline fan the ceilings youtube short took me OUT! the way the details about the car, the lines about 'you dont exist' being applied to utena's prince/akio, 'story ive seen before' being the prince/princess/witch ohturi mythology and ending with anthy at the end....... !!!!
All this to say I love all your utena edits on youtube and will be watching them many times over, as well as showing them to other people. Great work. ╰(*´︶`*)╯
🥺 This message is so damn nice and I have reread it multiple times cause oh my god your appreciation of my videos just makes me so happy and I'm so glad you watched and enjoyed them!! 😭 The support I've gotten from the fandom is very heartwarming, I just love it!!!
Yes hehe I'm the one behind all those videos! The Bet On It video specifically was one that lived in my head for YEARS until I finally sat down and decided to make it everyone else's problem too 😂 I would just listen to the song on repeat while geting overly emotional imagining Utena's journey and the fact I was tearing up to a Troy mf Bolton song was so unhinged 💀 yet now look at me, I have spread my vision like a plague amongst the fandom and everyone else gets to be just as unhinged over the golf course disney movie meme song as I am ⛳️ I would have it no other way. My favorite comments on that video are the ones along the lines of "I clicked this thinking it was gonna be funny but now I'm crying" cause if that doesn't just sum up the experience of Revolutionary Girl Utena itself then idk what does 😂
RGU's tonal conflict is one of my favorite things so choosing goofy audios for the end of the show was such a treat lmfao. And ugh The Draw is just such a good and ominous song. I rlly love how the Black Rose arc is all about radicalizing character's emotions to the point where they'll do anything to get what they think will fix their lives. Reverse therapy with Mikage is a hell of a drug. 🦋☞
I rlly feel like Ceilings captures that self-sacrificial "first love" feeling so many girls go through (especially with men) where they're uncomfortable and can't be open but ignore all those red flags until it gets to a point where things crumble and they realize the relationship never existed how they were imagining it. GAH THE FEELINGSSSS.
Sheesh thank you so much again for this message, it really brightened my week and was so touching to read. 😭💜 If I may humbly offer some video suggestions (if you haven't already watched them) I really love the For Your Love amv by Mari F and the Utena in 7 Minutes amv by Akilice. The first rlly captures that melancholic yet hopeful tone of Utena & Anthy and the latter has the audacity to make me emotional over a goddamn acapella Hamilton mashup of all things 💀 (the It's Quiet Uptown part literally destroys me every time.....). Digi Story has an Utena Deep Dive Analysis that I really enjoy, he talks about how RGU is "prismatic" in it's storytelling where there's no singular interpretation because there's just so much to look at and analyze. And finally, the Therefore You and Me animatic by edsartfactory literally changed my life it's ridiculously good!!
AHH thanks once again and I hope you have a great weekend!! 💞
