normally i never make resolutions because im of the opinion that you can change your life whenever you want and technically speaking any day of the year can be the start of a new year. that being said. my past year was kind of garbage.

so! i have decided to be more keen on new years resolutions, especially making ones that will hopefully make me feel better if something i can't control affects me negatively. i actually made a huge list of resolutions, more than i put here, that all kind of boil down to trying out ways to make my life more comfortable and fulfilling for myself and the people around me.

Has it been long enough that we can all admit a lot of the backlash we all had to AI art was kneejerk and that we should have fully directed our anger at the shitheads who intended to use it for a quick buck by either selling the results it spits out after typing 'beautiful angel in the style or george rutko with well drawn hands' in the prompt at a markup and call it 'original creative work' or by cutting real human artists out of the equation in commercial settings in favor of having an underpaid intern type prompts into dall-e until they get something good enough they can use as a publishable graphic

- Mitama and Mikage are freshwater, while Sayaka is saltwater.

- Yuma is a zashiki warashi

- Kaede’s skin is wood like with mushrooms growing on her. She doesn’t really mind though.

yknow, i think going just by sheer numbers, i have probably drawn humanoid characters with a fat body type more times than ive drawn literally any other body type combined

hello gamers minor life update I have been doing Real bad lately so I will likely continue to be very inactive, but hey on the bright side I have been fleshing out some eternal gales lore I reworked a while back and I can happily say that Dodie no longer completely contradicts the very nature of reality in eternal gales and the fog tower™ officially has a real reason to exist again so hell yeah to that

#rat rambles #eternal gales #oc posting #this is a piece of lore I technically updated a while ago but I mostly just relocated dodie home to a different piece of worldbuilding #but now Im fleshing things out a bit more and Im so glad that I set myself up such an easy way to jump ship on the old stuff #it also makes my life easier because it means that I have an actual reason for mase to be the first person dodie encounters in person #also an actual reason to trap him at first sorry dude it adds to the suspense #longggggg story short dodie lives in the universe's core of sorts #its where all the other characters are transported to at the beginning of the story due to other stuff #I already had it as a thing that the core attempts to replicate the casts home and food and such to help maintain them #but the fog tower™ had its core echo in place since forever basically #mostly because the narrator wanted to get dodie a home set up in the core instead of having to find a way to house her in notmal society #now the tower wasnt exactly meant to be found but it still had to be real enough to actually get echoed so it was real enough to be found #hense why mase's family lives in the lower half of it #the top half is fully reserved for setting up stuff to be echoed to dodie's tower #this is mostly handled my cup aka dodie's long distance mom figure #but most of that stuff was done before dodie was properly created and as such cup had to fight for their life to figure out how to best get #this child growing up in fucked up situations as happy and stable as they could with limited budget and time #they were also dealing with doing a lot of this behind the backs of mase's parents as the two wanted them to provide just the bare basics #despite this cup managed to sneak in a shit ton more video tapes than they were supposed to and attempted to cover as much as possible #ofc dodie still ended up incredibly unstable and fucked up anways but she still loves her long distance video mom dearly #up til she was like 12 or so those tapes were the only way she could see and hear another person #but yeah in the echoed version the lower half of the tower is mostly consumed by plantlife and the such #hense why dodie avoids the area like the plague she has hashtag issues regarding plants #oh yeah Ive also been thinking abt fydd a lot lately #I have been slowly developing a bit of a side plot for him in my head that Im not 100% sure Im going to commit to but Im mivrowaving it #basically I was thinking abt each of the human casts sort of quote unquote domains are #by that I mean the whole reason they get drawn to the universe core is because theyre all sorta connected to universe functions #fydd is one of the weird ones because his place in the system is the basic software ig would be the best way to put it?#hes connected to the very base of the system that the rest of the functions are built into

#the bin #little sister sent me more of her art so i was drawing that today #4/5 of my siblings have had ocs and ive drawn stuff for each of them (even the one i dislike) and 100% the other one will too #hes like. 6 i think? will be 7 soon. and he doesnt have any. he draws sometimes but doesnt have any ocs. but well give it time #i mean. all 5 of his older sibling have. im actually the only one of my siblings to draw all the others ocs #well only 2 of us make art a whole bunch besides my little sister. she does alot but shes only 10 #god. i miss her soooo much. this is the first time ive even talked to her since december. so sad. i should gift her some of my art stuff #maybe ill give her my old drawing tablet. i ised it like twice bc it works weird and is very different but maybe she would like it #i dont know what supplies she likes exactly but maybe ill just give her a bunch of stuff i dont use much so she can try new stuff #ugh. i miss her >_< shes great. why i gotta be 8 years older than my coolest sibling. wanting to play mercutio in the Romeo and Juliet production we’re doing this year but terrified of talking to my director about it

#she generally would listen to you if you said you wanted a specific role #its not that i dont think shell give it to me #but im afraid i wont be able to do it justice #because ive never played anyone like him before #(well if im being honest i dont think ive ever played a role that had a lot of personality on its own)#(ive mostly had small roles who were all very diy in the way you could play them)#(so you know roles who have a big impact are kind of terrifying to me)#but ive never been more drawn to a character before #i dont know what it is about him #ive already been doing the work i would have to do for any role unconciously from the moment i first read the play #ive been obssessed with him #watching any and all productions and movies about r&j i can find but skipping everything else and watching his scenes specifically #seeing all the different interpretations #imagining how these scenes will go in the production and setting we re aiming for #we ll also rewrite several lines to make them more modern and i ve already rewritten half of his in my head #and have several idea for the other half #i want to play this role so badly #and at the same time im TERRIFIED of actually playing it #acting is already out of my comfort zone #playing mercutio? even more so #BUT #BUT I WANT TO #urgh #maybe its time to actually stop letting my fear stop me from doing things #ive been working with this director for five years #and im leaving next year (probably)#maybe its time to go out with a bang #romeo and juliet #personal
