Billy stared blankly ahead. Nothing particular catching his interest, just letting his mind wander. No sense in paying attention to what was in front of him.
What's in front of Billy you ask? It's grown men and women arguing over the life a child that isn't even theirs. Billy had seen it a thousand times in the system but didn't expect to see it here with his coworkers, well soon to be ex-coworkers.
Billy had transformed back from his godly form to deliver the final blow to their enemy and had planned to power back up immediately but instead he blacked out. So now here he was, sitting in a conference room full of adults raising their voices to talk over each other. It has been about 40 minutes and Billy was getting sick of this, he's heard enough.
"Hey!" Billy yelled over the others to get their attention, but it was ineffective. "Hey!" He tried again, still nothing. "Can you stop yelling for five minutes and listen for once!" Billy fumed as they finally shut up.
Billy looked between all of them, waiting for them to settle down some more.
"I understand you're upset, I mean I outright lied to you," Billy said as he waved his hands to make expressions, "but if you would look at yourselves now I think we can all understand why I wanted to strictly avoid this."
"This could have also been avoided if we knew from the beginning," Clark said as he stood from his seat again. Billy only sighed.
"I've been through this enough times, this same argument about how my life is gonna be done by adults and I'm sick of it and I don't need you guys in on it too."
"We aren't trying to control you," Billy cut them off, not even caring to recognize who said it.
"Then why has this entire screaming match been just you guys at each other? Not once was I brought into it as you all raised your voices and tried to decide what was best for me like I'm not even here. If you haven't noticed, it has been over forty minutes since you started yelling."
As the others checked the clock and gave looks of guilt as they realize he was right.
"You fail to respect the young and that is something you need to work on, especially with your own kids." Everyone knew who he was targeting that at.
Billy shook his head and turned to leave.
"Like I've said, I've seen this before. I'm not mad about your reactions, it's just that I expected better of you," Billy took a deep breath and sighed. "I'm just disappointed."
Before anyone could recover from his words Billy left for Fawcett. Everyone was too busy registering the shock of what he said to follow him out. If they wanted to find him they knew where to look.
