The worst thing about having 13 alts in Final Fantasy XIV isn't the amount of repeated effort that goes into all of them, progressing them through the same content and the same grinds.

The worst thing is the nagging feeling that there should be 14 of them. Because that's what number the game is.

DOUBLE DIP is the debut mini-album from fictional boy group CHERRYADE, released first digitally on 1 AUGUST 2021, and later physically on 5 AUGUST 2021. the project consists of five tracks and, in JAGUAR CEO Ae Seungdae’s own words, hopes to “leave a sweet aftertaste in the mouths of all who listen.” around 960K copies were sold, and during the five-week promotion period they received a singular music show win. most (fans & non-fans alike) remember this as an era filled with neon lighting, low-quality photos of vapes in hands, even lower quality videos of fights with other groups, and a surprising lack of in-fighting allegations.

°⠀the opinion on the five tracks was almost surprisingly good, compared to past releases from former groups. people liked every one of them, or at the very least could tolerate them. there was no overwhelming hate towards any of them, and even their harshest critics could admit that the mini-album was one that was well put-together. despite none of them being a track that really cemented their sound & set the precedent for future projects, it certainly gave the public a good idea of their general concept (if what they’d seen from fleeting teasers and the name of the group itself wasn’t enough).

°⠀fans were quick to notice that ALL DAY had a different feeling to it than the rest, notably shifting in sound & energy, and so some began to speculate that it was the foundation for their next release—sort of like leaving a story off on a cliffhanger, to get audiences intrigued enough to carry on to the next installment (or, in this case, wait around for the next release). some praised them for the smart and rather fun easter egg, and others either called it a mere coincidence or a failure at keeping the mood consistent throughout the piece.

°⠀another surprising thing was how well the seven seemed to get along. seeing as they were stitched together from members of failed groups, even picked from their companies in some cases, most people were awaiting their non-music related content (interviews, behinds, general extra things) to try and get a gauge of how they were getting along—because put-on acts of professionalism could, really, only work so well before someone or other started to see through them. but as hard as they looked, not much could be found. there was, of course, notable tension between YIJUN and JAEHEE (which wasn’t so much of a shock, due to their past), but the rest all seemed fine. friendly, even.

°⠀however amicable they were, though, this era wasn’t without its downs. first came your standard smoking allegations, paired with blurry late-night photos being leaked of HAEIL and JALEN huddled close behind some building or another in the middle of a conversation, the former looking to be laughing. some were outraged, as is per with all accusations of smoking idols face, and others urged people to look on the bright side—at least they liked each other enough to hang out (presumably) outside of work. you win some, you lose some.

°⠀the next scandal to arise from the era came about not long after their first appearance on INKIGAYO. whispers began to generate, centering around YIJUN (because.. who else?) and SEVEN, a member of senior boy group S(O)UL. the story was that an argument went south backstage, and the two parted on less-than-good terms. neither company mentioned it, and the matter was left to stay unaddressed—but this feud would carry on for longer than a single encounter at a music show.

°⠀on the whole, it was a mostly successful era. the worst aspects brought in as much attention as the music & the groups’ performances, which of course fit in well with the infamous JAGUAR motto of “all press is good press.” as long as they were getting the engagement, how they got it didn't matter that much at all.

Mordecai probably lives in an apartment or something, but my first thought when you brought up the Caves on that post was that he won’t tell us because he’s been living in the Caves the Whole Time. Even tho he’d hate the slime mold.

yeah a Whole Damn House would be a bit much, and probably not as useful for the nightly bootlegging related goings on: see, freckle needing to stand around waiting for a ride before he can go shoot people. whereas mordecai can show up to the maribel hotel on foot, or at least have started out somewhere he could get a cab or whatever....and this is probably the closest to any relevant Living Situation Glimpses

someplace with a bed, and one with an art deco headboard....a modern style, so it's neither Antique nor unfancy enough to have less identifiable stylings at all. like just by guessing surely he lives in some apartment that's unassuming enough to live unassumingly in, with whatever alias, so something large & fancy would be unhelpful....plus if he's gonna be fairly rigorous in his domestic upkeep, it wouldn't really help to have a huge place, even if for the same reasons it wouldn't be too small (or old or otherwise unpleasant; hard no to slime mold, slime, or mold....) and like re: the rotating aliases, maybe he moves places fairly regularly for good measure, been at this like, a decade....tl;dr probably has some apartment/s that's roomy but not huge, nice but not Fancy fancy, at the nexus of practicality, resources, and preferences

but it's important to think about "what if mordecai's been living in the caves the whole time" b/c that's funny lmao

No offense but I feel like among IDW1 Megatron fans you can lowkey tell who's read multiple series of the comics (namely, phase 1 and early phase 2) and who's only read MTMTE by the way they talk about, headcanon, or write Megatron. And like it does genuinely make a huge difference because I feel like MTMTE Megatron in general is a different flavor of Megatron from the rest of the series..... not OOC, that's the wrong word, but like....... more as if JRO had a very specific vision of him and janked the reins of the series to drive Megatron down a specific interpretation of his character, which is still in-character but is very different from the way he was characterized early in the series.

But in terms of Megatron fans, you can really tell the difference between MTMTE-only readers and other-parts-of-IDW readers.

#squiggposting #not all of them are negative difference but like #for me it seems like the mt/mt/e M only readers tend to have a softer idea of M #or like. they're less willing to accept he did bad things. even though mt/mte HAS some of the worst things M did #like idk sometimes it feels as if that group of readers stans an entirely different idw M and it's hard to put a finger on #it's not even them writing M ooc it's more like. they seem to view his mt/mte self as like the ultimate incarnation #and treat his previous appearances/personalities with disdain or even claiming they're ooc #but like. to me it's mt/mt/e autobot M that's the one that's different and unusual #but ppl literally come into this series with m/tmt/e and god help you if you try to coax them into reading anythign else #plus like no offense but it's my honest opinion that JRO handled mt/mte M with silk gloves on #or like. some kind of gentler treatment and less harsh narrative consequences than he would've gotten if written by say Barber #it's weird to see people sucking JRO's dick clean off about how he wrote M when JRO's style in general is quite flawed #it feels like these people haven't read anything of idw1 and see JRO's writing as like the only valid way of writing M or any other charact #anyways i feel like if you only read mt/mte you don't even get a complete picture of M as a person #like in order to appreciate his heel face turn you honestly have to see him as he was before #otherwise wtf do you think he has to redeem himself from??? being mean to a couple people on the lost light???

Watch me keep tossing Diluc at characters I find Neat and laugh at the shenanigans. Today it’s an AU story affectionally called “Buddy Cop AU” where Diluc and Childe (pre-Crepus dying) have to team up to rescue Kaeya from the Abyss.... (totally @wintersdraw and @elizabethrzg ‘s fault pfffff)

And Claymore Support Group, which is just Beidou harassing kindly bullying Diluc into proper Claymore usage and it kinda sorta snowballing really fast- ( holds up @forwantofacalling like Simba, another instigator)

there IS a specific character just named ultraman hes the original one (plus different iterations of him) but yes there are many of them. each season is an entirely different thing with a whole new cast and its own ultraman. its basically a title. check out the reiwa ultramen
