Oscar: What is it? Don’t pull that face-.. he’s okay, right? Sidney: I mean-.. somehow, for now. We’ll see. Oscar: What kind of answer is that?
Sidney: The truth. Bruno: What does it say? Oscar: C’mon, man.. you don’t wanna ask her that.
Sidney: [sighs] Perforated right ventricle, pneumothorax, lacerations to the liver-.. three blood transfusions. Oscar: Simpler..? Sidney: He should be dead.
Bruno: He’ll recover though, won’t he? Oscar: Don’t answer that-.. he’s fine! Look, the monitor’s beeping n’ everything… Bruno: Sidney?
Sidney: It’s rare, but there’s a chance his body might reject the transfusions. His oxygen levels were clearly too low without assistance, so he’s been sedated and ventilated; that puts him at risk of developing pneumonia-… Oscar: I think that’s enough.
Sidney: Y’know-.. he’s young n’ fit, I’m sure he’ll bounce back. Bruno: Can I sit with him? Sidney: Technically no, but I’ll pull some strings.
[SOFT BEEPING] [FOOTSTEPS]
Bruno: It’s too quiet without him. Oscar: You gotta try n’ think positively. Bruno: Mhm…
Oscar: C’mon, he’ll be pissing us off again with his yabbering in no time. Bruno: Hm. Oscar: We’re heading home soon, you gonna be okay?
Bruno: Yeah. Oscar: Alright, well.. Sid’s still knocking about if you need anything. Bruno: I’ll let you know if he-…
Oscar: Uhm? Bruno: When he’s doing better. Oscar: Yeah, you will.

I never lose hope. I always make sure to leave my window cracked open a little, even when it’s raining.

I think we need to get more comfortable with the idea that sometimes shitty, racist, homophobic, bigoted people are still incredibly talented.
I feel like every time I see a post addressing someone’s shitty behavior the post also takes the time to mention that they’re not even good at [x] anyway. And that’s just not always true? Equating being good at a skill as being morally good is just not necessary. Someone can be a fantastic writer, can have a beautiful singing voice, can create breathtaking artwork, and still be a horrible person.
I know part of this is probably just the instinct to dislike everything about a person when you dislike them, but I also think this mindset leads to people defending creatives way past where they should, because if bad people create bad art, then if this person creates art that I like and resonates with me, then they can’t be a bad person!
And you know. That’s just not true. Those two things are simply completely unconnected and I think it’d be healthier if we all started disconnecting them in our heads.

Ten and Donna end up on a fucked up deadly space newlyweds show despite uh. Not being newlyweds but they get almost all the questions right. They start to sweat when the final question is "what's one secret desire you have involving the other?" And Donna writes "sometimes I wish I could occasionally shrink down the doctor real small so I could carry him around in my pocket and make sure he doesn't get lost' while Ten writes "sometimes I wish I was small enough that Donna could carry me around in like a cat backpack or maybe a shirt pocket" and they look at each other like AYYYYYY because not only are they deeply drift compatible they're also fuckin weird about it 💖

just because...
... others seem to have larger problems, it doesn't mean your problems are any smaller.
your struggles need not be ignored or minimized. just because others are struggling, doesn't mean that you can't.
your issues need solutions too. your worries are not you being dramatic. you deserve love and attention. you're worth it ✨

Apparently this needs to be said so
Forgetting things is morally neutral! Memory issues are morally neutral!
You're not a bad person if you...
forget things quickly
forget people
can't remember entire stages of your life
can't remember important things
can remember some things very well and forget other things all the time
can't remember things (or anything!) about your interests
forget to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, etc
forget to reply to texts
remember things and immediately forget them again
can't remember birthdays, events, etc
frequently answer 'I forgot' to questions
can't retain new information
forget things you used to know
only remember things when it's too late
have vague, distorted and/or unreliable memories
depend on others to know how an event you were in played out
have other symptoms that are worsened by memory issues and vice versa
... and anything else I might have missed!

Being a “Fun Fact !” kind of autistic is all fun and games until you get halfway through sharing an interesting tidbit and realize that it probably wasn’t appropriate to share in polite company and now you have to deal with the consequences :(

I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.
I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:
Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)
Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)
Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often
Eat dessert first
Celebrate well, and often
Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)
Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.
Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate
Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)
Walk without having a specific destination or goal
Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.
I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.
