I don't think tme/tma is, like, precise language in almost any form especially in the casual usage I've seen it used and was curious why this push was being made for its usage. transfem/transmasc have been far more useful and far less reductive for a very very long time. I know this may come off "all people are affected by oppression" but saying your definition of Trans Misogyny Affected doesn't apply to a cis gay man who has been regularly treated with the same tools of oppression for not acting in line with society's conception of gender, then suddenly deciding he is "affected" by transmisogyny the second he identifies as non binary seems entirely useless. The obvious retort would be that, of course, all the punishments he faced for behaving femininely are retroactively now also transmisogyny, but this implies if he never came to this conclusion on his gender that violence he faced would not be the same hammer of transmisogyny but just uhhhh misdirected transmisogyny or transphobia. Your life cannot be affected by misdirected oppression after all! This feels like a functionally useless set of terms when more useful ones exist, and reducing criticism of this to exclusively being from afabs is not only entirely untrue but a bad if nonexistent defense of their use. also if I'm going to nitpick the term doesn't really function to differentiate itself from afab and amab if you're only going to use it when talking about situations that all but explicitly exclude cis men if not cis people all together, which seems to be the case but whatever that's about use and largely separate from the issues I have at the heart of this

The reasoning for the change I've seen that has been the most consistent and makes the most sense is "annoying transmisandry-truther afab dweebs call themselves transfem on tumblr (obviously because theyre gender edgelords the weirdest gender they can conceive of is a trans woman) thus making the term lose all meaning" and that feels like. OK. first, what's going to stop them from claiming to be tma. They will do that. They are already, probably. second, this is like claiming bc a bunch of annoying 4chan plants start identifying as cis male lesbians it makes the term lesbian useless so we gotta pivot to wafiia (woman and feminine identified individual attracted) and yeah that's more loose and ignores a lot of obvious issues but it's more direct about the axis of oppression wafiia face (their love of women (and feminine identifying individuals but not feminine cis men and also-))

If you disagree greatly feel free to do so, after all I might be fully misinformed, but idk I've read a lot of discussion and am yet to be fully convinced and since I just feel kinda "eh" about the term and don't personally write posts about the tma/transfem experience (obviously) your efforts may be better done elsewhere. Who knows maybe in a few it'll become the only term people use and all dissent will be moot anyways.

Jokes aside, my biggest hyperfixation is my own PMDverse lmaoooo. It involves both my interpretations of canon characters and plotlines (which take a backseat admittedly but theyre fun to ruminate on while i replay the games) and my own PMD plotline! It's called Starfall and it features these three dweebs called Team Starlight as they're all trapped in Ultra Space and have to make their way back home, as well as find the other Pokemon who have been lost to Ultra Space (like Asha's family, the Rescue Team Silverwind)

There isn't really a Hero/Partner dynamic with any of these, though the closest would probably be Skylar/Asha.

Valerie is a Popplio with aura deficiency from being kept in her egg for too long, so she's had a very sheltered upbringing due to her overprotective brother. She's in the most dangerous position and she's the newest victim to Ultra Space, so Skylar and Asha have taken her under their wing to protect her. She's a very kindhearted and loving Pokemon, who tries to see the best in others, but she's also rather ignorant. She also harbors deep insecurity though because of her condition. She has always wanted to be an explorer, but never believed she could be one. While she's frightened, a part of her is also a little excited at the opportunities being in Ultra Space will give her. Though she doesn't know what sort of plot she's been thrown into...

Skylar is the "Hero", a human who was turned into a Pokemon with no memories of their human life. They're the de facto leader of the group and are actually very excited to be in Ultra Space: they're fascinated by how the Ultra Beasts live and they welcome the adventure they've been thrown into. They can be very rash and run into situations- they get a little too comfortable too quickly, which can annoy the Ultra Beasts. They don't really even mind being an Espurr- Aside from the headaches, it feels better than their human body... at least for now. But their amnesia terrifies them- whenever they're asked about their human past, they can't say anything- they just feel anxiety.

Asha is a Gligar that's very cautious and reserved, and wants as little nonsense and distraction as possible at achieving their goal of finding their family and home. Which is hard when you're a dimension traveler with two very curious companions. She's the one keeping everyone on track... with varying success. But her biggest issue is that she's actually a "glitch". She's the child of two Pokemon from different timelines that were never supposed to meet. So her aura is very unstable and can cause distortions. She believes that strong emotions make it worse, so they try to keep their emotions under wraps- which is difficult since they have a short fuse. She's deeply ashamed of this and is very resentful of her condition, and even wonders if she's more of a liability than an asset. Though they want to find their family again... they wonder if it'd be safer to stay out of their lives.

Can't get into all of it without spoilers but yeah I'm kinda obsessed with them. Those are the main three but I have several ocs that I sorta hyperfixate on one at a time- current one is Team Silverwind actually but I haven't properly updated their bios LOL. Please ask me about them though I love them sooooo much

communications au is like the Good End very lighthearted little sibling to wyy which is very much adult men’s teenage psychological torment and most of the story’s physical setting is their workplace, izayaka in a lonely busy city and their apartments which they live in alone almost always at night (i forgot to come back to them) and its actually about how lonely they both are although they both wont admit it. izukis probably more willing to admit its loneliness he experiences or at least that being lonely is the end result of Everything hes done as an adult but hanamiya who is a vulnerability hater never even at his closest to izuki ever verbalises or admits to loneliness as a result of his frustration with life being a reason he seeks out or accepts izuki in any way. whether loneliness is an active motivation or not izuki and hanamiya find no connection w anyone else but each other even if their prior connection really is nothing more than a thread. their desperation for sense in an increasingly meaningless adult world drives them to cling onto their past without meeting each other in the eyes for fear or exposing their own incapability

meanwhile communications izuki and hanamiya kinda dont rlly care that much. theyre both honestly doing ok coping fine uni is new but its fresh! ok so for hanamiya not like conquering the high school basketball world didnt work out but like whatever sheesh it was so embarrassing with long term plans anyways so now he’s a crypto bro (not embarrassing at all) and essentially living out high school 2 (honestly the same amount of freedom since he alr had an absurd amount in high school) in a super comedic way. meanwhile izukis like. adjusting ok its new but like hes doing ok. on top of class mostly, got an internship, doing everything right, but he’s kinda like having a harder time trying to stand out like a uni student ought to do (as hes been told but tbh he doubts its that important) or finding some grand life goal

Likely to kick your beak in if you're being a jerk tho so they're not a pushover. She/they pronouns! About 22/23 still deciding here. Probably Pan, probably Poly, doesnt care about gender. VERY stupid about self care and pushes themself too hard a LOT. Captain of both the NSS but also the squid sisters fanclub. Probably was in a lil fling with each Squid Sister separately at different points. Both ended on good terms!)

(Agent 4 is Polaris, or as Marie calls them "Lari", which makes them f u m e. They also get called Bi-Polar for being an easily ticked off bisexual who can't stick to a gender identity. ADHD/Autism swag is off the charts too. Like this is my lil skrungle who punches people during Turf. Probably has rabies? Ate a raw bird once for 3k G. Has trouble applying themself to anything other than Agent Work, which they love. 20, they/them is their usual pronouns but they'll switch em around with she or he or sometimes it pronouns. Solas had closed his eyes for only a handful of moments; not even a minute, really. The mage had sent down his paints next to his tomes and had resigned himself to rest for a but a millisecond, just to breathe. He couldn't even hear Dorian stirring up above, perhaps still socializing with the others at dinner. No matter what the case may be, it gave the man a chance to take just a quick jaunt to the Fade, nothing more than a cat nap. Honestly.

Well, that had been his initial plan, until the memorized patter of tip-toed feet tickled the tips of his ears, and Solas heard the distinct sound of the door to the rotunda being opened with the push of a hip.

"Vhenan? I hadn't seen you at dinner, so I thought I'd--oh, shit, shit--!"

Solas kept his head down where it rested in his bare arms, folded on the table and currently hiding his smirking face. His Mellan had come to check up on him; how sweet... and had clearly thought he was fast asleep, if her hurried exclamation and the clattering of glass was any indication.

'She must be carrying plates of some sort...' he thought, able to perfectly picture the scene in his mind's eye: Mellan striding confidently through the door, happy to help with something to eat, before completely bamboozling herself and struggling to keep from dropping all that she brought with her without further risk of waking her hahren.

Carefully sniffing the air, whatever she brought was definitely sweet. Well, that was one way to trick him into taking a moment's rest. Solas felt the old table move just a titch as Mellan set the plates carefully down, her movements calculated. The other elf was forced to bite the inside of his cheek as he heard a hitching gasp, near silent, slip from between her lips. She was holding her breath.

"Vhenan?" she started with the smallest whisper, checking for any signs that her love had stirred, but Solas made no more movement than the mountains that surrounded their home. He felt a long-buried mischief crackling in the marrow of his bones, that every now and again flared up in the presence of his 'da'len.'

"Solas?" Mellan was trying again, and closer now, but Solas still did not waver. He could feel the heat of her presence now as she leaned over him, the ghost of her breath upon his head. As she came ever more near, he even felt the light 'thump' of one of her thick braids against his shoulder blade, soft through his thin undershirt.

All the while, the redhead was none the wiser, watching the steady rise and fall of her beloved's back as he breathed. She liked watching him, memorizing the little things about those she held dear, just as she would the etchings in any corner of a book. The stains of paint cutting across his fingers, the proud expanse of his shoulders where he'd gladly let the world rest, the small scar above his brow that she could see peaking out from where he laid his head in his arms...

Mellan leaned down for one last 'attempt' at rousing her adored apostate, mouth barely whispering as she placed a chaste kiss on his scar. "... ma fen?"

It was only then that Solas finally struck.

Turning himself in his seat, the elvhen man swiveled to pull Mellan towards him as she shrieked for only a moment, before that shriek devolved into a fit of raging laughter that he utterly failed at silencing with a kiss. The paint of his hands, not quite dry, smeared on her cheeks where he held them, and Mellan stuttered to balanced herself, ultimately flopping into Solas' waiting lap.

"Hello, ma halla."

"You ass!" Mellan giggled, wiping some of the paint from her face and smudging it onto Solas' nose as he smirked smugly down to her. Grinning proudly and without proper argument against her, he nuzzled his nose against hers, before kissing at the corners of her mouth, adding to the mess.

"You scared me! I thought you were sleeping!" Mellan continued to titter. "Oh, I brought you food, though; the cooks made your favorite--" Solas only chuckled as the woman seemed determined to stay in his lap as she awkwardly reached an arm out, grabbing onto one of the plates she had brought and bringing it over to nestle between them. Her hair was completely disheveled, and there was powder on her tunic from when she had struggled with balancing the sweet rolls from earlier. Paint tucked itself into her dimples as she smiled up to him, and Solas felt nothing if not infatuated.

"Ah-hem."

A cough came from up in the rafters, and the bald man looked up to see a quite put-out Dorian leaning on the railing, staring down at them.

"Menaces. To society." he huffed, pointing between the two elves. "The both of you." Apparently he had come back from dinner. Though, as much as the Tevinter mage complained, Solas knew well enough that he would come rushing to Mellan for little tittle-tattles later.

Besides, said redheaded menace was laughing in his lap, brought him sweet rolls, and looking at him like the stars shined out of his eyes. In that moment, if he was a menace, Solas could care less.

s16: episode 5, butterballs (bc stan is so! hes just so !!! yknow. the anti bullying song in it is So good, And i live for butters standing up for himself ^_^ also the song at the end is god tier), episode 6, i never shouldve gone ziplining (its so fuckn funny, and i live for the live action bit at the end), and episode 11, going native (bc of that sweet, sweet butters n kenny content ^_^ i also live for butters Attacking in it)

s17: episode 4, goth kids 3: dawn of the posers. probably my fav goth kids centric episode ^_^ its so good n funny

s18: episode 3, the cissy. starts sniffling and crying again, but this time in transgender mode. i also love episode 6, freemium isnt free bc we get another Glimpse into stans issues w addiction ^_^ peace and love on planet earth

s19: episode 6, tweek x craig. love wins, gay ptide, etc etc

s20: um. i actually kinda hated this season. but ig if i Had to choose one, itd be episode 10, the end of serialization as we know it, bc it finally ended that season ^_^ no offense to any s20 stans out there, i just thought it was so boring

s21: episode 2, put it down. tweek n craig content, gay ptide ^_^ this is also the one where we learned that tweek can sing, play piano, And bake, and we also got to see craig learn how to support tweek better, which was very sweet ^_^

s22: episode 10, bike parade. i didnt super love this season either, so its kinda a case of picking the one i wasnt bored with. plus in a way it kinda felt like one of the original episodes, it was like a lil blast from the past !

s23: episode 2, band in china ^_^ we got stans band, crimson dawn !! it was great learning more abt how stan felt abt having to move to a farm, plus butters ripping it on a guitar was so funny. and then randy did stuff too idk

s24: this season has just been the 2 specials so far, but i liked the vaccination special, episode 2 the best ^_^ bc 1, the brovorce arc started, n im rly excited to see what happens with that. and also the way it ended left me hopeful that maybe the shows gonna go back to the way it used to be a little bit <3 i also liked how we saw stan gettin really mentally ill with freaking out over the pandemic, but that mightve been in the first episode instead...

what do the boys do when they find their first gray hair? if theyre not a couple yet when they first move in together, whose room do they make Their Bedroom when they get together? what kind of art would they decorate their place with??? (ugh your writing tho, youre cold and i burn fucked me up. I will read ALL YOUR HCS)

- i don’t know a whole lot about formal decorating, but i see their space being super cozy. kinda minimal, by means of like. actual art, but definitely lived in. messy book shelves. cabinets overflowing with mugs. plants near the windows and lots of pictures of them and all the Dweebs on the walls

if anything, i kinda see billy as the type to hang records on a wall somewhere? it’s a cool little touch and it would show off a lot of his personality. he’d hang one or two of steve’s records up, too. even though he’s got shitty music taste. just because he knows steve will bitch at him if he doesn’t

i see steve buying random shit he sees in the windows of antique stores or thrift shops or farmers markets and hanging it somewhere random in the house/apartment without telling billy. waits to see how long it takes until billy realizes there’s a rusty pocket watch hanging from a nail in the hallway, or that they don’t know anyone in the picture (of an 18th century farm family) hanging next to the bookshelf

- *takes a deep breath* BILLY’S ROOM. 

BILLY’S ROOM, BILLY’S ROOM, BILLY’S ROOM

steve loves billy’s bed. a lot. billy’s sheets are warm and soft in a way his have never been. they smell so much like him, too. like his soap, his shampoo, and it makes steve dizzy. makes his heart skip a beat. makes his stomach bottom out like he’s on a rollercoaster

even before they were together, if he was having a bad night, he’d crawl into billy’s bed. would bury his face in one of billy’s pillows and breathe in deep and feel all the tension melt away. would fall asleep and stay asleep all night

it’s one of the ways steve realized he loves billy. like really loves billy, in that way. the fact that he’s never slept so well as he does in billy’s bed, between his soft sheets, surrounded by the smell of him

it only gets better. when things finally do change, and he can bury his face in billy’s neck, his chest, his hair instead of a pillow

- first grey hair? steve pulls it out. without hesitation. without thinking. he’s in his early 40′s and he knows his dad went grey in his 40′s so he’s half been expecting it, but it doesn’t make him hate it any less. doesn’t make him any less nervous, less anxious

he tries to forget about it, doesn’t say anything, tries to go about his day like normal, but it’s obvious that he’s feeling weird about something because he does the dishes right after dinner. billy knows he only does the dishes right after dinner if he’s feeling Off

so billy comes up behind him while he’s standing at the sink. wraps his arms around steve’s middle while steve’s elbow deep in suds and asks what the problem is, but steve just brushes him off, shrugs. it takes a lot of prodding, a couple minutes of billy reaching beneath his shirt to trace over his stomach, a couple more minutes of billy kissing his neck until steve goes all pliant and easy, only admits it when billy says, please

because steve’s not afraid of aging, not in the slightest. he’s afraid that billy’s gonna see him differently. he’s irrationally scared of billy feelings changing just because he’s getting old, but billy spends the rest of the night convincing him that there’s nothing to be afraid of there. billy’s been over the fucking moon for him since they were seventeen and as much as he misses being young, he’s also pretty glad they aren’t anymore. that they get to do whatever the fuck they want because they’re adults now. that they’ve got a real life that they’ve built together. actually sort of loves the fact that they’re getting old and that they’re doing that together

steve spends the rest of the night kissing him stupid. billy doesn’t complain

- billy’s the kind of bastard that stays blond an infuriatingly long amount of time. doesn’t get his first grey until he’s like. 60. steve hates him for it, but he also kinda loves him for it, too. just a little bit
