ok NOW that I'm mostly done with the One Piece movies, it's finally time to start writing this monster of a review post. I'm gonna say sorry in advance for how long this post is gonna get.

1) One Piece: The Movie -> 6/10

This movie is fine, not much to say about it. It's old enough that Sanji is not even in the crew, and it feels more like a longer than usual filler episode of the East Blue saga than anything else, but I found it very charming, it had some good gags and it smacked me upside the head with 90s anime nostalgia.

2) Clockwork Island Adventure -> 6,5/10

Just like the first movie, it's fine, nothing extraordinary and it had some kinda weird plot choices, but most of the gags and crew interactions are solid enough to make the whole experience enjoyable. Would love to see Luffy throw bombs at his friends more often in the future.

3) Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals -> 6/10

I know a lot of people hated this movie so I came into it expecting the worst, and instead it was a cute enough movie. Again, nothing special but all early movies suffer the curse of the One Piece world being still largely unknowable and having to make something up that makes sense within the context of this early stages. Chopper's characterization is Eh, but I think the movie was trying to see his very first interactions with the crew while still knowing little about him, and I can excuse it. I like most crew interactions and gags. This movie also features Sanji fighting a swordsman VS Zoro fighting a guy who uses kicks and I really loved it - what can I say, I'm biased, so sue me.

4) Dead End Adventure -> 9/10

THIS ONE. This is one of best One Piece movies. You want a classic yet enticing seafaring adventure? You want all the good and fun aspects of the pre-timeskip crew? Do you want an interesting side character who kinda reminds you of All emo One Piece guys? Did you, just like me, miss when Nami and Robin used to be shit to children? THIS IS THE ONE. I don't wanna say much more to not ruin it for people who have yet to watch it, but I really missed when the crew had to find a way to work around fighting Logia type Devil Fruit users, and seeing it again sealed my absolute love for this movie.

5) The Cursed Holy Sword -> 3/10

So this is another movie that I know a lot of the fanbase hates, but since the Chopper movie turned out to be okay, I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt again. Instead, this movie just plainly sucks, and it's not because of the general plot, because of bad crew interactions, but because Zoro specifically is written like shit in here, and since the movie revolves around him, the movie is shit as well. My best way to resume this movie was "Zoro wouldn't fucking say that". Not only he drops the crew out of nowhere to follow a friend's shady request without questioning it, not only he fights Sanji and immediately wins despite their entire deal being that they're on the exact same level (also the fact that he breaks Sanji's arm got on my nerves massively), the thing that got on my nerves the most was honestly that the childhood friend was a new character and not like, some echo of Kuina, which emotionally would have made the movie have so much more sense for me.

This movie is written by a Zoro fan who doesn't get why Zoro is the great character that he is. Also the elements of mysticism in this movie are just damn weird for One Piece, but as I said for the Chopper movie, I can excuse it as it's still relatively early into the story and I can see why they thought magic would work as a plot element. It didn't.

(Still better than Stampede tho)

6) Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island -> 10/10

This one is an insane and unsettling experience from start to finish. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about, if you haven't, go watch it now. I promise it's gonna be a wild fucking ride and that you're never gonna forget it for the rest of your life.

7) One Piece The Movie: The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle -> 7,5/10

Was this movie objectively bad? Yeah. Was this movie also objectively good? Yeah.

I'm gonna try to elaborate: this one is purely a comedy, with sparse elements from the previous movies taken and used for parody. The tits on the girls have the worst animation you've ever seen, but it works in favour of the comedy because, voluntarily or not, it seems to parody the One Piece anime itself. I swear the animation budget on this one was like 100 yen and the concept of hope. Despite all this, it works and it's funny as fuck. Zoro gets set on fire on this one. Also, apparently Chopper's VA was on maternity leave for this one and you can barely notice it.

8) Episode of Arabasta: The Desert Princess and the Pirates /

9) Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in Winter, Miracle Sakura -> ??/10

They are arc recap movies, an Alabasta arc recap and an AU version of the entire Drum arc set post-Water 7 respectively, and as such, I don't intend to watch them, so I'm skipping them ✌️ if I eventually decide to give them a try, I'll come back and add them to the post.

10) One Piece Film: Strong World -> 8,5/10

A huge favourite of mine since I was a kid. This movie came out around the same time as when I read One Piece the first time and I remember loving it then and I'm happy to say I still love it as an adult. The outfits are amazing, the villains are amazing and the plot was damn good. Yes, this movie has Nami as the damsel in distress (and some really bad and gratuituous ass-tits shots of her, but nothing worse than say, the anime itself), but I really liked how it's handled and the spotlight on her character is well handled for the most. It's a "crew as family" movie first and foremost, and you can really tell Oda himself took part writing this one.

12) One Piece Film: Z -> ??/10

So I'm gonna be honest here, I haven't watched this one either and I don't intend to because Nami gets aged down to a child as a major plot point and I don't trust whoever wrote it to handle it normally. If anyone gives me a good motivation to watch it I will, but until then, I refuse to.

13) One Piece Film: Gold -> 8/10

When my girlfriend and I started watching the movies again, we were really skeptical about all post-timeskip movies, and I'm glad to say Gold proved us wrong. I love this damn movie: it's a really good experience for long time fans, but it can also be shared with friends who barely know/never got into the show. The villain is so damn compelling, and the original character (Nami's blatant ex-girlfriend) is fun and interesting.

What else can I say? It's a Las Vegas heist movie. It's flashy, it's fun, all the outfits are fucking amazing, and most importantly, Zoro is the damsel in distress in this one. I can't suggest it enough to people.

(Also Sabo makes a cameo in here by using a Firefist, and both of us for a solid second thought Ace was gonna descend from the heavens to fight instead of the most logical answer, because we're both idiots.)

14) One Piece: Stampede -> 1,5/10

Fuck this movie and fuck whoever liked it. This is nothing but fanservice garbage and I hope whoever wrote it is in jail. It exists as proof that good animation and good voice acting and a solid cast cannot make a good movie by themselves. The main villain is the most boring, uninteresting piece of trash in the universe. This movie was made just to animate cool fights for fanservice, and it didn't do even that well. I cannot believe they wasted Luffy's Gear 4: Snakeman like that, I cannot forgive wasting my favourite Luffy fight form for a moment and THEN decide to solve the movie final fight with a fucking genkidama. Fuck this movie. Didn't even have the guts to have a proper Hancock fight scene.

The only reason is gets a little more than a 1 as a rating is because having so many damn characters in the movie appear at random accidentally turned it into a fucking comedy. Towards the end I was half-ready for either Gol D. Roger's corpse or Goku to show up. Maybe even Naruto or the Jump Force. Kurapika was in this one to me.

15) One Piece Film: Red -> 7,5/10

We conclude with a good one, and a musical on top of it all. I really liked this movie, I think Uta was a well written new character and I can't deny I cried a bit towards the end of it. This movie has still a lot of fanservice, but in my opinion it's much more tasteful and tolerable, and I would be lying if the hype of every character cameo didn't get to me, especially with Brulèe and Katakuri, I have such a soft spot for the Charlotte offsprings.

Ado is a really good singer and a lot of the songs are really nice to listen to, I can't deny I currently have more than half the songs in this movie among my spotify favourites. The occasional usage of CGI is Eh, but aside from it this movie has damn good animations as well.

What this movie lacks, and it's really less of a Red specific problem and more of a general post-timeskip One Piece issue, is crew interactions. While a lot of early One Piece movies are kinda trash, it's the crew interactions that have always captured me about the story, and I'm willing to forgive even the worst plotline if it means I get to see those fucked up kids have fun and be all together. It got to a point that the amount of characters in the story takes time away from the main crew, and considering this was the first movie with Jinbei as a crewmate, it was a damn shame that this fact almost wasn't used. Still, I liked Red! I just hope the next movie that will inevitably come out is a crew-focused one, on the same wavelength as Gold. I'm kinda sick of constantly seeing Law.

MEWMEW - (Either Normal/Steel or Fairy/Steel, but the Steel has to be there. I like to think m was an elite 5 trainer until mew decided to retire and settle down.)

- Blissey/Clefable [Most obvious picks imo, but these thangs are TANKS while still being very sweet, much like Mewmew :] Aggressive healing and Metronome just sounds like a strategy m would use tbh.]

- Klefki [Listen. M is a cat. This is the key jingle Pokémon. M can and should have one of these bad boys]

- Togekiss [Vibes-wise I think Togekiss is THE Mewmew Pokémon. Its round, its smiley and its AWESOME ok. Trust me I am Pokémon expert, Mewmew would love this guy]

- Tinkaton [Listen.......its THE big hammer cute little wee face Pokémon. It's Mewmew coded]

- Snorlax [Same reasoning as togekiss, but with the added bonus of being on the tankier side so it balances it out more. Very beautiful very powerful. Also the little ears it has just makes me think of ms own lil' ears :]]

- Magearna [I know its a little op to give m a mythical Pokémon....but have you considered that Mewmew is the world's specialest kitty. Also these two give me the similar vibes tbh, especially with the Moon description being "Its mechanized body is merely a vessel. Its true self is its Soul-Heart, an artificial soul".]

NAN - (Flying, because she's the silly birt :] also, I think she's a gym leader of some kind)

- Pidgeot [Nan strikes me as the kind of person who'd catch her own Pokémon without the help of professors tbh, so I think her starter being a pidgey makes sense ! They're easy to catch, are everywhere and are still pretty dang solid as Pokémon. I like to think she and this pidgeot grew up alongside each other, and although its not much of a battler anymore, they used to have glory days together :] ]

- Unfezant [Same reasoning for pidgeot, but also, it just has SO much sass. I think Nan would love Pokémon with attitudes, so she would deliberately catch hard Pokémon to train just for the challenge]

- Swablu [It's a little bird.......its blue.... I think she deserves a little guy Pokémon that looks exactly like her /silly]

SIRU - (Dark, cuz you just know she's seein' the horrors <3 maybe Ice too. Probably a regular trainer, long past wanting to be an elite 5 gal, but still has a theme bc she has STANDARDS)

- Sneasel -> Weaville [Probably her starter tbh, I can see it. Its her Permanently Smug Emotional Support Guy !! It loves fighting, but Siru is So So Sleepy and Tired she just gets dragged around by her Pokémon <3]

- Froslass [I just think it fits her really nicely !! Also, the singing thing.......I think Siru would find comfort in it, in a fucked up way. I too sing songs of death lil guy, do you wanna be my travel buddy*]

LASSI - (Water/Grass, I just couldn't pick one, he gives both vibes !! He's the Haru (Pokémon sun and moon rival) to Siru in my humble opinion)

- Bulbasaur/Squirtle [Look at this man's face and tell me right now he wouldn't be charmed by one of these little guys. Honestly I think if he could, he'd get both.]

- Quagsire [I just think he would be so enamored with the goofiness of it. He doesn't even know if it's very good for combat, he sees it the first time and doesn't even hesitate in catching it.]

AAAAGH HI HELLO BOUNCING AROUND YOU LIKE A PUPPY!!!! i only know three other people who like ai !! date fans are almost always the coolest and funniest people you've ever met and know what they want in a man (wet and pathetic forever) and i respect the date fans. I'm not tooting my own horn btw I'm saying this for the people that will be reading this ask lol date fans are so silly. this is date btw for anyone who doesn't know what the fuck im rambling about

gushing about the game is basically impossible without spoiling everything because the mystery is REALLY SILLY but also really well written and laid out over time. the characters in the game are very lovable and I guess pretty realistically written, not from a realism standpoint but in how they react to any given thing in the storyline. they're varied and fun and have a lot of personality to each of them, and I would literally fucking kill for any of the main cast given the chance.

and the sequel!! the sequel is a little weak and a bit slippery and not as well put together in comparison to the first one, but it's still just as charming and you don't necessarily have to play the first game to understand what's going on - there are vague references to the lore in the first game, but it doesn't detract from the fact that this IS a new cast of characters, and i really appreciate the fact!! there's a lot going for it in terms of charm and personality, and the new characters seem to be a bit less whimsical and more grounded than in the first game (fucking looking at you tokiko shigure. holy shit)

i feel like I never do anything justice gushing about it because I will always forget something and then be like "fuck I forgor" and rush to add details so I'm just gonna leave my gushing about it at that lol

ANYWAYS!! UM. talking about my self insert under the cut :3

so. juniper is my self insert, they're from america and they moved to japan for reasons I haven't decided upon yet but they get a job at a local flower shop run by a very brash old lady whose family never come visit her and it turns out it's because she's in the middle of a yakuza turf war. the kumakura family bought out the basement space of her shop and had her under their thumb. juniper was just stupid enough to get involved in hopes to help the woman who keeps them fed, but there's no way to do that. juniper unfortunately has no choice but to cross paths with these men, but one in particular is more kind than the others, and has bought flowers from them on occasion - a specific type of iris :3c

the old woman dies shortly before the events of the first game and they've taken charge of the flower shop, and they've been meeting date upon happenstance every so often. because of the eventual discovery of the kumakura gang being affiliated with several suspects in the cyclops killings, juniper has become entangled in the case, and date actually has his reasons to suspect that jun has something to do with the case, which leads him to having to psynch with them at some point!! but they have a few other ties to the lore that could be considered heavy spoilers :)

juniper is besties with pewter!! he is their only friend for very specific reasons, and they spend time out drinking when he isn't on the job. they talk very vaguely about their crush on date and it takes pewter a whole long while to figure out that they're both talking about the other when he has to be subjected to it. he initially thinks "wow this is just like my doujins" when jun is first talking about meeting a very beautiful man at the flower shop who keeps coming around and they meet at strange times, and then it devolves into pewter going from that and happy for them to "oh you're fucking joking, THAT GUY??" when he learns it's been date the whole time

anyways. coughs. juniper has a big dumb crush on date but they go against most of his Types; i mean on top of not being a Busty Older Woman, they are a tiny nonbinary thembo and they're a bit of a punk; they've had some of their mentor's brash personality rub off on them, but they generally are fairly kind to people that come around, they just have to keep up that hard exterior to be seen as a big enough threat to the kumakura gang (moma has a bit of a crush on them but that would never come to fruition in the same way that the iris thing never did - mostly because jun is too stupid to notice that he likes them)

date likes them because of their pretty face and kind heart hidden behind their hard exterior - they're very tired of having to hold up a strong personality all the time for their safety, and simply want to make people happy with their flowers. they're sweet and a little clumsy and are kind of similar to iris and hitomi in several ways, but they're a little more um. rough around the edges and awkward i guess? not to mention their japanese still isn't completely perfect despite having lived in japan for as long as they have (over 6 years). so he finds it all endearing in a weird way but it does take a bit before he has the "ogh fuck" moment, because he's a bit superficial underneath it all

jun is suuuuper supportive of iris and is also a big fan of a-set !! they want to meet her in person at some point - and they do!! mizuki is like their adoptive daughter and eventually they do take on a parental role for her, specifically in the 6 years that date goes missing between games. ota is okay, jun and ota do not get along very well and most of that has to do with them competing for otaku of the group

lil' guy was kinda nervous when i first unpackaged 'em, which is understandable. getting shipped across states is no doubt stressful as fuck- but they're chilling on my bed now, after getting briefly introduced to Tarot, BEAST, & one of my cats~

when i get the funds, i'm gonna be spoiling them & buying some accessories~ a little harness so i can take them places, a nice collar & tag, and some little charms :3c

kind of a sensitive soul. ik packie calls him an old romantic, and he really is lol, he's got that kind of dreamy mentality which /also/ kind of is why he has his little habits. it's all about escapism <3

i think i mentioned it in another post but he was definitely close with francis when they were younger. how the tables have turned

i think he's got a little of that 'robin hood' fantasy going on in his head. the noble outlaw, the bandit king. he's nice to civvies who get caught up in their heists (like in three leaf clover) because they're just people caught up in something bigger than them

he can speak gaelic :) mr mcreary taught him and he learned the rest when he went to the old country

he's definitely a coward lol i'm not denying it, like cmon he sold out his pals. he chalks it up to survival of the fittest though

does not think out certain parts of his plans. i feel like he's more of a 'i have a plan, there's a rough outline, but everything within the plan, we're just gonna wing it'

the tallest of the brothers, and second strongest physically (the first being gerry). he's built really solid hehe <3

a natural storyteller. he used to tell his younger siblings bedtime stories, and he's real good at weaving tales on the fly. makes him a great raconteur.

completely self indulgent but i think he's just really sweet lol, like if you get to know him, you'd probably be taken in with his kind of loud joviality and charm

also completely self indulgent but he gets clean after blood brothers and tries to help the family get back on track :)

so i'm gonna do this for charissa and altair from tcol because i've been thinking about them a lot lately :3

1. Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

so to be honest their relationship never really initiated. it was something like an unspoken reality that especially after everything they've been through together was kind of a given. it wasn't really something they talked about. though if you were to point it out, they'd pretty vehemently deny that there is anything going on between each other... even as charissa is sitting on altair's lap and they've been bickering about what they want to do once they get to their home for the past 20 minutes. lmao.

2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

not an official one no! but i like to think that the first time they go to papa's bar (papa is a character by the way; he has an actual name BUT everyone calls him papa lol) after they go through The Horrors is kind of like a first date; they'd sit in the corner, away from other patrons. drinking and laughing, and maybe a bit of crying. then charissa would get too drunk and altair would carry her to a room that papa gives them for free and they'd spend the rest of the night talking and holding each other. there's probably more crying and tender talks but yknow. when you go through The Horrors you're allowed.

3. What was their first kiss like?

their first kiss wasn't really eventful? i think it was something that one day altair and char were talking and he suddenly just leaned in and smooched her. and she was like ? the fuck, and he was like don't worry about it, keep talking and so she did LOL. they're both just kind of like that lmaooo

4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

not really, i suppose first long term relationship though? they're in their mid-30s when they really settle into their relationship with each other and tbh i am a fan of characters who have had life experience/other partners before each other lol.

5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?

altair is 38 and charissa is 36. height wise, charissa is 5'8" and altair is 5'10"!

6. What’s their relationship with each other’s families?

altair comes from a very rich family in marthveil, wealthy from their involvement with the academy of the sciences and metaphysical (or the school where alchemists are trained). he doesn't have a bad relationship with them however they are not particularly close; his mother, the matriarch, didn't particularly approve of altair striking out from home and joining the labyrinth. rightfully so she viewed it as a suicidal calling but altair has always been a rebellious sort. i don't think his mother or family have any particular issues with charissa- they definitely are surprised that she is the only one who matches his barbs and fire lol. hilariously if you were to ask his mother about it, she would say "by all of cerullius i hope they never have children. i wouldn't be able to stand it."

charissa's family, like many families from hytroth, is very deeply religious. and while many people in terrae are to a certain extent, many from hytroth are very devout. they would think altair was a kind gentleman, and they aren't wrong he's pretty good at charming people (except char i guess LMAO) and she would be irritated at how much her parents and siblings like him LOL. they would ask them allll the time when they plan on getting married and it would drive charissa crazy.

tbh altair would probably propose to her JUST to annoy her lmao.

7. Who takes the lead in social situations?

both of them tbh! they're both extroverted, life of the party types.

8. Who gets jealous easier?

i don't think either of them have much of a jealousy problem? like i said they never even "said" this was a committed thing (though like, it definitely is lol). both of them have full faith and trust in the other person so they can't be bothered with shit like this.

9. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?

L M A O. both of them do, but i think altair does more often pff. whether it be rude or sexual they're both thick as thieves in their corner lmaoo

HEHEHE. Ragnar is associated with orange to me, though he mostly wears blue in the form of his Stalhrim armor! He doesn't have that until he goes to Solstheim, but tbh I think I'm gonna have to mix in some blue to his previous armor designs, methinks hehe FOR JENAIS: Obviously he mostly wears black with red accents, because that's His Robe. Despite that, I associate him with green, and draw him with the color green a lot hehe. Orange is for warmth, fire, and all around like... idk. just Warm. And then the green for Jenais is definitely for envy, necromancy, and even a bit of Hermaeus Mora coding... >:3c

7. favorite animal? why?

OH BOY HEHEHE... we'll start with Ragnar again here. Ragnar has inherited my struggles with knowing myself and identity, as well as unhealthy selflessness. I think we could get along but communication might be kinda hard skjflsdj AS FOR JENAIS... those that know me know that he's a massive projection of a lot of Problems I have/had, especially around the time I developed him, lmao. He's very much gifted kid syndrome/burnout, he's been used as a vessel for me to explore being arospec, and in general he's kinda like if I just flew off the handle, but worse. And no, we would not get along, at least not at first... but I'm not sure I have the patience of a saint that Ragnar has to actually deal with him for long enough for us to actually get along KSDJLKDF

18. their opinion on lying, stealing, and killing?

HAHA WELL... funny I'm answering this today, since Ragnar has taken the reigns and developed itself in a direction I didn't think it would be going. SO LIKE. It's outwardly against lying, but actually lies QUITE a bit. Mainly about itself, its thoughts and feelings and such, as much lying to itself as it is lying to others to keep its appearance up. As for stealing and killing, it will do it if it must, but prefers not to. It generally stays away from stealing, as it never finds a valid reason to steal-- where as killing has become an inevitability in many cases. As for Jenais, well, his answer should be obvious: neither of those things are wrong, and in fact, they're pretty damn fun! >:3

26. how do they move? are they clumsy? light on their feet? do they use mobility aids?

OOH OK so Ragnar is very sure with his movements. He's very graceful, but his movements also hold weight. He's light on his feet but he's very muscular and has a good bit of body fat, so despite the grace it's easy to see that he could pack a hell of a punch if he needed to. He's quite sturdy too, and hardly ever loses balance. Jenais... I like to describe how he walks as almost like stalking, creeping, etc. He's fairly good at being sneaky, but even when not trying to hide, he moves with a strange sort of... I can only really describe it as a predatory gait, I guess?? Like he's ready for anything, always planning something. He's NOT sturdy at all though, and is easily knocked over. He used to be much more clumsy but has grown out of that for the most part. His posture isn't great, either, which adds a bit to his freaky, evil, creepy charm.

35. do they ever return home?

YOU WANTED TO HURT ME WITH THIS ONE. POINTS. I KNOW YOU DID /LH Short answer for both of them: No. Ragnar never had a home, how could it return? Jenais can't find home in the house he grew up in. Nothing is left but ghosts-- and the memories haunt him well enough as it is.

HIYO MODAAAAAAAAA. thankoo for asking, I'm gonna talk about & here i am alive again.

5) Are there any OCs in this chapter/fic? Who’s your favorite?

& here i am alive has four major reoccurring OCs: Nao Aisaka (Reader's best friend), Shinya Kanzaki (the receptionist at the agency Deku works at), Akito (a child who lives in Reader and Deku's apartment building) and finally Yosuke Yurita (Reader's Terrible No Good Trash Loser Ex-Boyfriend).

My favorite is Nao!! As mentioned in this answer it's really fun writing her dialogue. She almost always says what's on her mind and her sassiness is her charm point! And she's cute! And overall a very good friend to Reader!! I like running comparisons between Nao and Minori, because they're both 'best friend ocs' but they're very different... Honestly, I think that a lot of the conflict in shine on the sea could easily be resolved if Nao was there yelling at everyone in the cast. LMAO.

9) What is your favorite dialogue that you've written so far?

I think EVERYONE has asked me the dialogue line. nYALL....

Anyway, Nao again. This is from an unposted chapter for &hiaa (chapter 18?). Anyone who reads that fic can have fun trying to figure out the context here LMAOOO.

i get what you mean about reading being one of the biggest inspirations for writing. whenever i'm in a writing slump, i just pull out a fanfic or a book and i'll suddenly feel the urge to write again XD

and our planning process is surprisingly rather similar? i still like planning bc i like to be specific for foreshadowing and symbolism, but i agree that the story is sometimes... a thing of its own. i'll plan for things to be this way and while writing it just gets snatched out of my hands to become it's own things. it's struggle for me i suppose there's a lot of back and forth: i like my plans, but i can't deny that the story just wants to go elsewhere.

i also normally always start at the start of the story! just like you, i have the words play out in my head word for word, but i normally don't pen down these thoughts because i feel they're not refined. i will repeat them though, and when i sit down i use them as reference or a guide on the angle of my story. it's really nice to compare and see similarities in writing processes! i guess the charm of your work is the story's flow, and that is from how you write unrestrained by a plan. i like that style! >:3c

i wish i could still write like i used to -- and a part of me thinks i can, bc if i rly tried to force myself, i could just pick a rando prompt and like... write it. but the thing is -- i've got so little mental energy left after most days at work that i can barely work on the fics i DO wanna write u know?

and it's strange bc for the first time in my life, i feel my work literally impeding upon the things i like to do to a degree that im like ??? bruh wut.

not to the point where i'm tryna quit, bc like work pays, and it pays decently well, and for all i complain about it, i actually do love what i do u__u and that's rare enough as it is. but yeah, i really do wish it weren't so mentally taxing so i could have a bit more energy to write.

but yes! :) it's always nice to find someone who has a similar-ish writing process!!! to be like yEAH OMG!!! I DO THAT TOO! :D

now!! for the travel q!! i went to australia and new zealand, about a week in each, and it was so, so lovely!!!! it was so breathtakingly beautiful -- like truly, i didn't know the sky could be that blue or the water could be that clear.

and the wedding that we went to attend was beautiful -- there was drama (bc isn't there always) but it was nothing compared to all the good things that happened :). i was just so fucking tired after i got back LOL i needed vacay from my vacay ukno????

next year, i promised myself that i would travel more for myself, bc this year, i ended up traveling for a bunch of different weddings and engagements, and not !!! that i don't love that and am super happy for my friends!!! but like. it's different traveling for JUST urself vs traveling for someone else's wedding/engagement, ykno? so yeah u__u i think im gonna plan a trip to italy w/ my bf, and maybe one to japan with my mom :D we'll see!!!!

my dear friend and mutual @lobstersinmyhouse tagged me to talk about four albums ive been listening to lately >:3c beware all ye who enter here because the freak is gonna be talking about music opinions

blueberry's self-titled album!! they're a small LA indie band and for whatever reason their music has just been scratching that itch in my brain recently! they also have another album released that's a chiptune version of this album that i love just as much. it's really neat!! my favorite songs off of this one are ice cream, (dogface,) and i found a rock!!

2. pencil legs' self titled album!! they're another smaller indie band who i think's pretty new to the scene. i really liked this though, chill and peaceful, and i thought the album art was super charming. this artist is from the ukraine, which is pretty neat!! i love branching out to non-american indie artists because i think there's always just something fun and special bout it. it's a short listen, about 20 minutes long. my favorites are try and untitled piano interlude.

3. pinback's self titled album (lol i'm listening to a lot of self-titled stuff lately i guess) but pinback is one of my all time favorite local bands. they have GORGEOUS basslines and overall just have something very special about them to me. i actually know the drummer personally and plan on taking lessons with him once he's back from tour! my favorite songs are loro and crutch.

4. glass animals' how to be a human being has been something i've been revisiting lately. i loved this album a lot in high school and i hadn't taken the time to relisten to it until lately, and i gotta say it really does hold up. their stuff has always been really calming for me, i love driving along to it while i do errands. truthfully i think every single song on this is good and it's an album that stands better as an album than as individual songs, but my favorite songs are youth, life itself, and other side of paradise! i tag @prettyinpinkcatgamer @psychonautic @balquida @pyromanaical @vox-off @berrystumpytail @bugmistake to do this if you'd like!! and anyone else who follows me i love seeing what my friends are listening to

4. Do they have any tattoos? Which one(s)? If they differ from the ones available in the character creator, what are they?

Yes! Cass is a huge fan of tattoos and when he gets more crowns, he will defo get more. He has, right now, two half tattoo sleeves aka both his right and left upper arm and shoulder are tattooed. On one arm he has the Vestran sword in a ring of fire and on the other, the raven that extends over his back as well. They're plenty meaningful and at some point, he will get a lower arm done to herald back to Aeran somehow (the raven symbolises his first and only girlfriend, Aisanne. Yes I ported Sanne into Wayfarer. Cass x Sanne was too good to pass up.)

5. Who was their mentor? How do they feel about them at this point in their life?

Amali Sero my beloved <3 Cass is a Sero kid. He thinks of them as his parent and for all intents and purposes they are; they raised him in a way a child should be raised (as opposed to his birth parents) and they shaped who he is today. He's infinitely bonded to them and his love for them is strong and nothing would make him happier than knowing that they are still alive after the Spire's fall.

7. What are their skill strengths and weaknesses? Have you used that to influence their personality?

There's a joke in the Wayfarer discord I sometimes make that he hogs persuasion passes and needs to fail one and that is true? Across playthroughs, and I have three of them, he has 20 persuasion passes. That, plus a very high perception roll pass number that's been consistent throughout playthroughs made me develop his personality into what he is now. He is awfully persuasive and awfully charming when he wants to be. He knows what to say and when to say it and can more or less accurately gouge out what your reaction is gonna be. (Un)Fortunate side effect of this is that it made him very talkative/ a chatterbox though (nothing against being talkative i'm talkative irl but like. i can understand why it'd be annoying.)

His least used stat is strength lmao I hope I get to use it more in the future

9. What do they think of the massacre of most of the Wayfarer Order at the Spire?

It broke him at first - it was his home, with people he loved and ultimately, the only place in Rhesainia that accepted him for who he was and wasn't ashamed of him and didn't view him with suspicion. Of course he'd be broken. He describes it as "somewhere I can lay my head down and peacefully sleep." Slowly but surely, though, that stupor of mourning is turning into anger? Desire for revenge? Desire for answers? He's somewhere right between anger and bargaining stages of grief probably but he's probably gonna be grieving the Spire of his youth for the rest of his life :')
