I wonder if the art direction of andor has purposely set luthen's monologue on that corridor to go in line with the saga's symbolical use of them. I think they did.
I remember someone pointing out how setting scenes on these large, suspended corridors were used to show the time left before the end of the period the scenes are set in.
how, in the duel of the fates, they're quite broad because the clone wars, sort of, start there (even if clones aren't still in the picture, there's the first jedi vs sith fight in a thousand years, and droid army makes its first appearance on naboo, even if it was the gungans who were fighting and not the clones)
Tumblr media
but when ahsoka fights maul they're reduced to the bare minimum that can allow a fight to happen there, and we know there's a very little time left before order 66
Tumblr media
now, luthen's is quite broad. the rebellion is still forming, they're still deep into the empire's regime.
Tumblr media
but in the empire strikes back, when vader fights luke it is already reduced: the rebellion has organized and has already blew the death star up
Tumblr media
plus, when vader tells Luke that he is his father, the corridor is way way smaller, as if by saying it, vader has somewhat given luke the key to destroy the empire (that his, his father's love for him, or luke's ability to bring the good side of him)
Tumblr media
I'd add that they used this in rogue one too. the way it's not only a little broader than the fifth episode's (because the rebels haven't blown up the death star yet) but it is crumbling, because they almost didn't make it: the shields were still up, the destroyer hadn't hit them yet, and jyn would've died without cassian killing krennic etc.
Tumblr media
and maybe even in a new hope? when obi-wan shuts off the tractor beam to free the millennium falcon (and r2 with the death star plans and luke who will destroy the death star). look how narrow the corridors become.
Tumblr media
maybe this is a stretch and they only set the scene on suspended corridors because the visuals look Very Cool and that's it, and I wouldn't blame them, it is indeed cool af to see

anyway. someone already pointed out how vaderesque luthen was in andor 1×10 but. he is dressed full black like vader except for his head. his mind may be a sunless place but it's working for something brighter. his ideals are still clean, his intentions are still pure, even if his hands and most of his being has become dark with sacrifices and the dirty work he is doing to make the sunrise he'll never see possible, contrasting vader's, whose intentions are far from good (at least until rotj)

Cool ask game! Could I get a rec for 16 and 27 please?
oh, hello!! thank you so much, and sorry for replying so late!
16. for an ingenious, unusual way of storytelling
mmmmmm I would say Run For Your Life by Silvana Gandolfi! it's a ya novel that tells of a true-to-life story of two Mafia victims. Santino's and Lucio's story end up intertwining in a way that is satisfying from many points of view
27. for an unreal story that feels terribly realistic
now this is probably a commonplace answer, but The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is just!!! the Book™!!! Gregor is such a realistic character but I guess it's no surprise, this is probably tumblr's favorite book. BUT I'd say the short story by Ryunosuke Akutagawa called The Nose could fit here too, in a different way!
