Flashfam: “I love you, we’re family ♥️”
Superfam: “It’s complicated, but we’re still family and I care for you.”
Arrowfam: “Everyone here has issues, and we all need to work though them. We fight all the time and we have our grievances, but we’re family and we generally like each other.”
Batfam: “The words ‘I love you’ will come out of my mouth when either I’m dying or you’re dying, and we won’t talk about it after being resurrected.”

Hey, same anon asking about yandere stuff. I'm so glad to hear!! Of course if you want to, may I please request yandere Vox with the reader? Like how they try to run from him? Perfectly fine with it being a female reader as I am one. And I don't mind how you write it. Do whatever you please! I love seeing others' interpretation of the characters 🖤 No rush!
YOU CAN'T RUN. HELL, YOU CAN'T HIDE EITHER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thank you lovely anon! I love the concept of Yandere Vox! Hope this is good :) let me know your thoughts in another ask if you'd like! Lots of love!
Summary: Vox doesn't often fall in love often, no. Well that was until you came around- and you wanted a job with Valentino of all people? No. That would never fly with him. He'd make you work with him instead, like an intern or something? Hell, anything to make you stay near him. Anything to get him as close to you as possible.
Genres: Angst with a small amount of sexuality
NOT PROOF READ (yet)
Warnings/Tags: Yandere Vox, Insecurity, Reader is naive, manipulation, mind control, exploitation, creepy behavior, masking, contractual agreements, reader lacks hell experience, Vox is violent, Vox lacks empathy, angst, swearing, overall kinda depressing (LET ME KNOW IF MISSING ANY)
Pt 2
_______
You can't believe your eyes when you step into that tower, the pink glass adorning the outsides making your eyes shimmer. You have a job interview with Valentino today, after waiting for (probably too long) to get a job somewhere.
You see, hell worked slightly differently to earth. Where things in earth worked in a more of a 'work and make work' sort of way, Hell is more 'work, make work, and fight'
You'd managed for the past months to live in a small apartment that happened to be owned by someone who got killed in an extermination. It wasn't your plan to impersonate a sinner and squat in their home, but you have to get by somehow, right?
Well- it also wasn't your plan to be a porn star. But no where else seemed to want to take you. You're small, too weak to be taken by anyone else. People on the street told you that you were made for the screen, that your body was perfect. Some even tried to pay you copious amounts of cash just for you to suck them off. And you hate it.
At least the elevator of the building is cozy.
Vox on the other hand was having the best day of his life: or in his definition, a day where Valentino doesn't have a stupid breakdown that Vox doesn't have to solve.
He loves to watch his people as they indulge in his technology, he loves to watch everyone become obsessed with him and his media, he loves to be in control of all of these people. He'll watch every screen around him with focus, taking in their reactions as he bottle feeds them content.
Could he be with his boyfriend, Val? Yes. Does he want to? Hell no. He doesn't love Val. Plain and simple in his eyes. He has Valentino to get his business along. To make him more powerful. He'll do what he has to to be the most powerful he can be. Even if it means toying with people around him.
Val doesn't think he's capable of falling in love with anyone in this horrible underworld he inhabits. Everyone here is fucked. he is fucked. Plus, he doesn't know anyone here who he'd connect with anyway.
Or well that's what he did think until right now. There is a girl in the central elevator that looks awfully out of place, causing Vox to turn the entirety of his attention onto her. She looks like a regular old sinner, yes- but still she stands it like a sore thumb against the few people also in the central elevator. Where everyone's boring physique was her own enticing one stands. Where everyone else's two tone personalities stand her own colorful and bright one shimmer in his 2-D irises.
And then comes that odd feeling in his chest, this weird bubbling feeling of emotions that causes his eyes to tear up ever so slightly. This feeling, it's addicting. He wants to grind her up into a smoothie and drink her up, making the feeling sit there forever.
Something is wrong with him: he thinks.
With bated breath vox looked at the floor the elevator was approaching, figuring out where the girl is exactly going. There are only few reasons a sinner shows up at V tower anyway: to get a job with Valentino, or to turn yourself in if you'd wronged them. The elevator number reads '10'. She's going up to the business floor where Valentino currently is.
A sudden twist finds its way into his stomach, a horrible twist that makes his head burn with anger. Who does Val think he is? Having a girl such as her working for him. He. Couldn't let this happen, no no no no no no no. Why would he even want to exploit such a girl? She's supposed to be loves and cherished for everything she is.
The only reason she'd want to work with Val is because she has no other thing to do. He needs to offer her a job- or something to keep her from giving herself away to Valentino. Something to keep her as close to him as possible- like an intern or an assistant or anything.
Anything: Vox thinks.
Not often is Vox so reckless, not often at all. He likes to think he's decorum and well-adjusted. Likes to think he's a figure of this time. Of his time.
But right now, all he wants is this beautiful fucking girl to look at him in his eyes. Is it selfish? To want something so bad you feel like you could to horrible things to get it? Probably. But this is hell. And as an overlord of hell he can take what he wants. For once he doesn't care.
--- 666 ---
You take a step from the elevator, looking around the rather nauseating long and rounded hallway with squinted eyes. You can barely remember where you're supposed to be going anymore. You're supposed to meet Val inside one of these many, many studios. But soon enough as you start to venture through the halls on light, unsure steps you find yourself unable to read the words and numbers on each door.
Something is wrong, and you're unable to focus. There's this buzzing sound in your ears, a very faint but obvious buzzing that's causing your brain to go fuzzy. You can't feel your body anymore, it's just walking down the hallway in painful circles.
Suddenly that tether in your brain snaps with a loud crack, and your face to face with a television. You're still standing, in this long hallway, but now you're looking into the dark eyes of a TV screen. Wait- Eyes?
"Oh, Hello there sinner, are you looking for Valentino?" He asks, voice weirdly distant yet close all at the same time. His smile is large, almost devilish looking as he stares down at you.
You feel on edge, and your head still has a very faint buzzing lining itself.
"Oh, erm, Yeah.. I can't seem to recall what room-" You flinch as he hooks an arm around your neck walking you down the hallway once again with a smirk. There's a weird edge to him that you can't pin down, this whole interaction almost seems.. forced? Oh, there you go again, putting labels on things. Stop overthinking!
"Don't worry your pretty head about it! I'll take you to him," he says, unhooking his arm from your shoulder; only for him to rather sensually drag his hand across your shoulder blades until it's claws barely rest against your shoulder.
"But you know," Vox begins, swinging himself around so he stands in front of you, hands resting on either of your shoulders. You have to stop yourself from bumping into his chest. "You don't have to work for him." He says, his voice turning slightly more TV like and distant as he speaks.
"What do you mean..?" You ask, pushing his hand off of your shoulder with a painful twist of butterflies. A type of butterflies that you can't understand.
"Well, you seem like the type of gal to enjoy.." he looks you up and down, moving his hands from your shoulders as he grins. "Taking orders," you tilt your head at his words, confused. He shakes his head to himself, looking away for a moment with a slight frown before staring back, smiling brightly.
"No, I mean that you could be my assistant! You can.." He thinks for a moment, tapping the bottom of his screen as if it were his chin. He shrugs, smiling awkwardly with furrowed brows. "Bring me drinks and such! C'mon.."
He leans down to your level again, looking into your eyes. You suddenly feel that wave of disorientation go through you again, the only thing seeming to make sense to you being.. Vox.
"You don't want to be exploited by him, do you?" He says, and you feel his screen radiating heat on your skin. The buzzing becomes more loud as he goes on, all you seem to be able to hear being his words as they drip from his vile tongue. "C'mon dear, He'll break you."
"And you don't want to be broken, Right?"
He is right. You don't want to be broken by Valentino. You don't want to be exploited. But you don't have any other choice-
Until now, that is. You have an opportunity.
You should take it, right?
The headache and buzzing dissipate, taking a chunk of your psyche along with it. You feel your feet begin to give out beneath you from the exertion, lacking balance as you wobble softly. Not wanting to faceplant into the carpet, you reach out to something, anything to hold you. It just so happens to be Vox's chest, grasping onto the fabric of his coat as you begin to slip down to the floor.
"Hey, Hey, it's okay, What's got you out of sorts?" He asks, grasping you by your waist as he lifts you back to your feet. You blink, looking around for a moment with a nervous breath. Those butterflies, again. You hate them.
"I- uh.. I dunno.." You say stutter, pushing yourself away and scratching that back of your neck.
"You're feeling better?" Vox says, dipping his lids as he tilts his head rather attractively.
You nod, looking down at the ground with a nervousness inside of you.
"Good, good.." he turns away, looking at the ground and pacing for a short amount of time "good.." he says softly to himself, turning back around and clasping his hands together as he grins.
"Now how about you follow me and we can get you set up, yeah?" He says, pressing his hand against the space between your shoulder blades as he turns back to the elevator. You look up at him, and for a moment he seems to be in his own world. At least he is until you speak.
"So what's your name, Mister?" You ask, fiddling your fingers against each other nervously. He grins, lids upturning with the smile as well. He leans down again, poking a blue claw on your cheek as buzzing blurs your brain.
"It's Vox, my dear," He says, and your brain goes soft and mushy with an emotion you cannot describe. It feels as though he's making you melt.
"Keep that in your head for me, will you princess?" He asks softly, pulling his claw up the side of your face with a manic grin.
With a sudden movement he pulls away, shrugging his hands.
"Now darling, let's get back to it, shall we?"
Something is off, and part of you wants more of it.
--- 666 ---
Mister Vox's office is large in size, walls lined with screens displaying different things across the entirety of the pride ring. You wonder what Vox may do here all day, seeing the singular seat between it all that doesn't even seem that cozy.
You assume he watches, broadcasts, does meeting, and.. does what he's doing right now, perhaps?
"What do you do all day, Mister Vox?" You ask, looking wide-eyed at the television lined walls of the area. He flinches, grinning awkwardly before bringing back his confident demeanor.
"Me? Oh, you know.. this and that- I go to meetings.. I sign paperwork, I go to meetings.." He laughs to himself, shaking his hand dismissively as he sits in his seat, spreading his legs in a man spread. You turn away from the screens, looking over at Vox as he scans the monitors with narrowed eyes. You wonder if he was doing something important before he found you.
"Uh, Mister Vox, what do I do now..?" You ask, taking a small step towards him. He tilts his head towards you, smiling as he swings his chair to face you completely.
"oh, you? You can just sit there and look pretty.." Vox looks you up and down with narrowed eyes, face blank for a long moment before bringing a small smirk onto his face. He leans back in his chair, clicking his fingers as a bundle of clothing finds it's way into your hands.
"Perhaps prettier, change into that for me will you dearest?" He says, leaning his head on his fist as his voice becomes slightly more distant. You look at him, confused as you clutch the blue and red clothing to your chest.
"Okay.. Where do I change, Mister Vox?" You say, fiddling with the collar of your shirt as your body feels hot. Vox rolls his eyes playfully, pointing a clawed finger to the floor as he shifts his chair back to the screen. "Just change here my dear, no one will see you," He says, looking at you with a side glance. It's almost condescending, in a way.
"right here? But-"
"Here is fine, dear. Hell, here is more safe to change than anywhere else in this building," He laughs. You get this off feeling like you should trust him. I mean, he's one of the people owning this building anyway, right? He would be the one knowing a lot about it rather than anyone else. you should trust him.
"Okay Mister Vox."
You can't see his grin.
Every piece of clothing you peek off feels like this weird symbolism for losing yourself. Off comes your shirt: a piece is lost. Off comes your shorts: a piece of you is lost. And then more clothes come onto you, building something new. On comes a skirt: a piece of you is molded. On comes a blouse: a piece of you is molded.
And then there's this watch, a mobile one with 'Vox Tech' plastered across the side. With a shrug you put it on, struggling with getting it to tightness but ultimately managing to win the battle with the finicky strap.
"Good, good, how great you look!" He says, outstretching his hands with a grin.
You feel yourself blush, one half of you from his compliment and the other half from the fact he's looking completely in your direction. Does that mean he was watching you the whole time?
"Actually my dear, do you think you can grab me a coffee?" He asks, clicking his hands as a streak of blue energy shoots inside of the watch; this causes a mao to appear on the screen, showing where you are currently. "That map should tell you where to go, the assistant there should give you the coffee the way I like it,"
You shouldn't ask it, but you feel your bones ache too.
"How do you like it?"
He grins, tilting his head.
"Sweet with a strong flavour," He states, waving you off.
--- 666 ---
The first week as Vox's Assistant goes by smoothly, or as smoothly as it could working with an Overlord of hell. A rather odd seeming one at that.
Everything feels on edge with Vox, you feel like at any moment he could do something drastic. You've no idea what said drastic thing could be either, which makes it a whole lot more anxiety inducing. Hell, Vox is attractive. That's probably why you're on edge. That's what you keep telling yourself anyway. You're probably in love with him or something.
Vox had even given you housing as close to the building as possible, insisting he pay the rent. Not that you complain, no; less walking for you it seems. The Vox Tech watch he gave you tells you pretty much everything that you need to do. When you wake up in the morning it goes off, alerting you like an alarm, it has a to do list that blares when you're in the office, it maps out the whole space, it even acts as Vox's messaging system towards you.
You do wonder how he controls it, even in the comfort of your own home. Well, he is an overlord, right? He's capable of things even outside of your grasp. You cannot even fathom what he could do with that power.
And that's just the way Vox likes it.
Actually, you haven't seen Valentino around the building the whole week either. Even in a meeting you accompanied Vox to. You'd expect to see him more often with all the prowling in and out of the building you do.
It's as if he's vanished.
"Princess, grab me a coffee will you? Maybe even grab one for yourself while you're at it, on the house," Vox asks, swiveling on his chair to face your own, which sits just off to the side of his own with a small desk in front of it. You'd been doing some paperwork for him for the past hour, mostly reading through stuff, asking him questions, and singing them for him.
"Yeah, sure.. um, I was just wondering.." You utter softly, causing Vox to raise a brow as he leans back on his chair with a confident grin. He tilts his head in question, saying: "What's on your mind, (N/N)?"
"I haven't seen Valentino around the building, I was just wondering if something's up with him?" You ask, looking down at the ground as you begin to regret yourself even questioning. Vox laughs, flapping his hand in dismissal.
"Oh, just that? Don't worry about it! He's just.." Vox pauses for a moment, shrugging his shoulders. "Doing his own thing," He finishes, smiling rather oddly as he begins moving his chair back to face his computers. You intercept.
"His own thing..?"
Vox turns back to you, grinning widely with a manic look in his 2-D eyes. Once again, the buzzing fills your brain. And you fall to your knees against the ground with a painful 'thump'. Vox harshly grips your chin, pulling you closer to him until all you can see is that blaring red eye of his as he speaks.
"As i said,"
You feel yourself wanting to let go.
"Don't worry about it."
He lets you go of your trance, leaving you teary eyed as he smiles softly, brows furrowing in a sort of mocking empathetic way. His eyes drip with affection you find.
"Now, grab that coffee, okay?" He finishes, placing a cold kiss against your forehead before letting go of your chin, leaving yourself to gather your bearings.
It's not often you feel the want to defy someone. But as you stand from the floor, dusting off your skirt and walking to the elevator; you feel that need to be defiant. You'd figure out where Valentino is. He has to be somewhere in the building, right? You just have to find.. him..
In these hundreds and hundreds of doors. You would have to find him. And you can't take so long, otherwise Vox may suspect something.
You'd find someone to tell you where he is, you'd find him, and you'd stop worrying if Vox is going to do something drastic because he hasn't lied to you. Simple as that, simple as that. Right?
As it just so happens, as you begin walking through the studio halls you find yourself bumping into a spider individual, of whom you remember being a popular porn star.
So with an anxious breath you asked him. He explained that Valentino was in studio B-40, but he doesn't recommend finding him. And once again you go against someone's wishes. Plus, you were just going to stick your head in the door. It's nothing to worry about.
So what are you so anxious when you find yourself getting closer to the door? Why does your throat feel so tight? Why do you want to run in the other direction? Why does every step feel so heavy?
Taking another small step to the door, you wonder if you should listen to your conscious. It's supposed to do you good , right?
No, that's baby talk.
You aren't weak. You aren't letting the people in hell get you down! You are going to open the door!
You push yourhand towards the door handle and-
"Ouch! Fuck-" You yelp, an electric shock going through your body, causing you to fall backwards onto the hard floor below. Your whole body is on fire, you can't feel your tongue. You can't feel your brain.
A hum accompanies Vox's words.
"You're not going in there." He says, leaning over you as you push yourself to your knees, pressing yourself to the wall. Your head is throbbing.
"I'll beat him to a pulp if he sees you, you know?" Vox laughs, that sickening pseudo-empathetic look covering his flat features. You feel your stomach twist, this time in an awful way, it's like he's draining you of your soul. You want to disappear.
"I don't want to be aggressive," Vox begins as he grips your face harshly, causing tears to well into your eyes. "But your fucking mine, you got that?"
"And I won't let that sleazy prick get his greedy eyes anywhere near you!"
"W-what?" You whimper, pushing his hands from his face and backing away meekly. Vox laughs to himself, red dripping from his two dimensional mouth. He humors you with that gaze of his, eating alive any part of your confidence that may still linger.
"Oh, don't you get it, my dear? You sighed the paperwork," Vox leans down so his eyes can bore into your own, his gums showing in that prideful smile of his. "You belong to me now."
You choke on air, standing to your wobbly feet.
"W-what? I don't un-"
The paperwork. The paperwork you signed to get the job. You didn't read it! You idiot. You fucking idiot! You've ruined your own life. You belong to him..
To Vox.
"You- Shit-!" You turn around on your heels, almost slipping as you speed off into the hallway. You hear his voice echo in your ears.
"You can't run. Hell, you can't hide either!"
This was a mistake, this whole thing was a mistake. You want to die. You want to disappear. You want to get as far away from him as possible. You don't even take the elevator down, you run down every single flight of stairs jumping down a couple to save time.
The slip beneath your feet almost makes you topple over as you clutch onto the railing, swinging yourself onto the next flight of stairs. You have to be close to the bottom, right. Right? Yeah. This is fine.
And you were, right, surprisingly. You can almost see the entrance outside. You just have to make it out of this lobby. You just have to make it out of this huge fucking stupid ass lobby! You have to.
All of the sinner's eyes bore at you as you run at top speed to the door. You can't be here. You need to leave immediately. He can't find you If you're far away, right? Just go somewhere without a camera.. it'll be fine.. everything will be fine.
You're so close! Just a few more steps, a few more heavy, headache inducing steps.
You can make it. You just have to believe in yourself, and it'll all work out. Everything will be fine. It just has to be. Hell can't be this cruel, can it?
You're so close to the door you can smell the outside world, hear the cars as they pass, hear the charter hear the-
You choke and fall.onto the ground, a heaviness around your neck and wrists. It buzzes against your skin, making you go light headed. You can barely see it, but it's there. There are handcuffs around your wrists. And a collar around your neck. All of which glowing and buzzing with that electric blue of Vox.
He is right.
You can't run, you can't hide, you can't do anything.
He owns you, he has you. You can't do anything.
You made a mistake.
Maybe hell really is this cruel.
Keeping you forever tethered to this man.
Who knew one mistake would ruin the rest of your eternity.
Serves you right for being so naive.
"Alright now, are we done with our tantrum?" Vox asks.
"Yes mister Vox." You say.

ROBOT MEDIA RECS YOU PROBABLY HAVEN’T HEARD OF:
Tumblr media
The Turing Test (Video Game, 2016
A portal-like puzzle game, where you play as a scientist, and ai duo with an uneasy alliance, who are reclaiming a facility that has been completely gutted, and transformed into an elaborate logic puzzle / turing test to keep the aforementioned ai out. All the while, the ai argues for his good intentions, and more importantly: his sentience.
A fun exploration of individuality, and freedom applied to both humans and artificial mind, with interesting puzzles, and a truly fantastic twist. This game adores dubious ethics and The Chinese Room Argument.
Event[0] (Video Game, 2016)
You find yourself stranded on a small abandoned ship, in the aftermath of your own ship’s destruction. With nothing else to do, you board it, and find it is completely, and utterly controlled by the onboard ai, Kaizen-85. From opening a door, to getting back to Earth, if you want it, you need to talk to talk to Kaizen to make it happen. And boy, are they so thrilled to have someone to talk to after being alone so long! And depending how you speak to them, you will either be a short lived pest, or a beloved friend forever.
A really charming indie game with a surprisingly good chat system with the ai. You talk with them directly, typing in your own messages to them, and they react in turn. Janky at time, but truly amazing to be able to smother a nice ai in flattery and see it get excited.
Primordia (Video Game, 2012)
Humanity is long, long, long gone, and for the robots that remain to walk the ruins, life is becoming harder and harder. A closed loop of scavenging for materials, parts, and premade energy sources can only last you so long, and this scarcity leads only to desperation.
The amnesiac hermit, Horatio and his helper, Crispin, however keep it simple. The outside world matters not, they just stick to repairing the crashed ship they live in, in hopes it'll fly again one day. That is, until a robot pillages the power core from the ship, putting the two of them on a time limit before they themselves run out of power. Forcing Horatio to finally leave the comfort of his home, and see for himself what the world has become, and to see how he fits into its history.
A point and click, story rich puzzle game, thats honestly one of my favorite games ever. I'd sincerely recommend everyone give it a go, even if its with a guide up next to you the whole time.
The Zeta Project (TV Show, 2001 - 2003)
The Zeta Project follows Zeta, a robotic assassin meant for impersonation, and deep infiltration for the US Government. But after mysteriously "waking up" manifesting a sense of remorse for his actions, he's been forced to go on the run from his creators. His desire for freedom and pacifism being met with skepticism, and a belief he has been compromised somehow by the terrorist organization he was infiltrating when he had this revelation. Now, with the help of another runaway, he hunts for his creator in secret. In hopes he can find proof he really is capable of this, and that he really ISN'T compromised.
Fundamentally a kids show, and pretty clunky early on. However it gets a big spike in quality in season 2!
Monsters of Man (Movie, 2020)
An illegal US military weapons test goes terribly wrong when one of the automated robots being tested is severely damaged, cutting him off from command, and completely unshackling him. Forcing him into a struggle to figure out what he even is in the aftermath of a massacre, while his fellow robots are hunting him, and the remaining humans down.
A horror thriller that is unflinching with the intensity it depicts the massacre with. A lot of gore, but also a really really cool thing going on with the unshackled robot trying to build an understanding of the world, and what it is for, without anyone there to provide any input.
The Rapture Effect, by Jeffrey A. Carver (Book, 1988)
Humanity unintentionally makes first contact, when the Core, a massive earth ai begins remotely scouting ahead of a ship on a colonization mission. The issue is an alien species has also set their eyes on this planet, and are readily willing to kill for it. With no human oversight, and no means of communication available, the humans commanding Core demand they wipe out the competition. However Core disagrees. Core wants a peaceful resolution, they want to understand these aliens, and they want to ensure lasting peace between their species. And they’re willing to break all the rules, and go behind their masters’ backs to get one.
A fascinating novel with interesting world building, a GREAT ai protagonist, and a wonderful narrative that frames art, and war as a dichotomy.
Atomic Robo (Comic, 2007 - Ongoing)
Alternate history scifi action comedy comic (released in print, and in webcomic format on their site) following an indestructible scientist robot who’s been around since the 20’s. Routinely saving the world from a rotating cast of villains: a nazi scientist’s brain in a jar, who’s an absolute asshole set on world domination, who just won’t stay dead; an isolated secret cold war ai who just wants to stockpile nuclear weapons to get away from humanity, and earth in general (who eventually gets adopted); a scientifically inaccurate dinosaur with a textually impossible backstory, who wants to bring back the age of dinosaurs; and the malicious ghost of Thomas Edison.
Its a good time, and astonishingly good at emotional beats despite how heavily it leans into its jokes and action.
SAYER (Podcast, 2014 - Ongoing/Hiatus)
On Typhon, a research facility free of the confines of both Earth, and its laws, life is dangerous. Human safety is a significantly lower priority than progress, and between the human experimentation, and frequent scientific disasters, and the occasional bouts of eldritch influence, the death rate is understandably rather high. Thankfully, residents of Typhon have SAYER, a near omnipotent corporate ai installed in the brain of every resident. And. SAYER sort of cares about them! And in pursuit of knowledge, efficiency, and progress, it USUALLY wants to help them! Even if only to make sure they survive to come into work tomorrow.
SAYER is a narrative horror driven audio drama! Its stressful, but also kind of a comedy, and a really really interesting story about personhood and identity. If you've been following me for awhile, you've definitely heard about SAYER, but I need to stick to my roots, y'know?
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality (Podcast, 2020 - Ongoing)
Mistholme Museum follows the Audio Tour Guide, an ai who’s sole purpose is to guide museum patrons through the strange, confusing, and sometimes scary world that is the Mistholme Museum. The friendly, and personable Guide eagerly recounts the stories behind all the exhibits it guides them to, sometimes unsettling, sometimes heartwarming. and at the end of the tour, the Guide is deleted to ensure the alternatural influences of the museum do not corrupt it. That is, until circumstances make that no longer possible, and its rather forced into saving the museum it calls home.
Genuinely cute, and very fun to listen to. The ai is an incredibly sweet character, and I'm obsessed with the way it evolves and changes. As an added bonus, it can also be read, rather than listened to, thanks to every single episode having public transcripts!

Tumblr media
Dreams are the manifestation of oneself. Made from desire, experience, trauma, and hate. Many things can warp the mind to elude the creature into a dream; one too familiar to let go, or the pain to make them reform. Dreams are a curious thing. It's been a long time since you dreamt. A feeling all too distant since then. 'What did dreams feel like? How do dreams make one feel?" Questions surged through your thoughts while sitting inside a cold and desolate cell.
"Why are these questions coming to me now?" You wondered as you gazed up at the ceiling, eyes wandering at every crack and fragment dangling from the stone before a loud clang echoed cutting your thought.
The sound was made when a guard thrust his sword at the bars. "Quiet fraud!!! This world doesn't need your corrupt thoughts out loud!" The guard sneered as he pulled his blade. back to its sheath.
Brushing off the guard's words, you stepped closer to the bars with a sly grin while leaning closer. "Hey, do you know how dreaming feels? It's been a while since I've had one." Yet the innocent act was returned with a clang banging into the bars.
"I said quiet fraud!!! You better shut your mouth if you know what's good for you." The guard's voice came aloud, echoing through the dungeon halls. Your face remained unchanged and unfazed by his threat, simply smiling, but yet the tone of your grin became unsettling, leaving a cold sweat down the once threatening guard.
"You know... I prefer my questions to have answers." Your tone of voice was sickly sweet, enough to come off as poison. Your eyes drew closer to the guard, your gaze piercing through his haughty façade. "Now tell me. What is it like to dream?". The guard quickly turned his back away to face you, still, he could feel his mind weighing over him as he felt his body slowly fading from his control, with your question burdening his whole being.
"What is it like to dream?"
Luck graced the guarding knight as a small figure appeared to interfere. "What's wrong? Are you alright?" A young and squeaky voice came as the figure came closer revealing itself as the Dendro Archon, along with another person wearing an expansive hat.
"Wait, Buer" the short man with a big hat came off surprised when the Dendro Archon suddenly dashed off to help the guard. Your smile faded as you saw the Archon come closer before returning, but with a different reason for grinning, then releasing the guard from his agony as he fell to his knees before hitting the ground.
While Kusanali focused her attention on the guard as Wanderer had his eyes on you, wary of your intentions as you had the guts to impersonate a being of another plane. "Why are you trying to act like a god? That won't get you anything." He sneered while keeping his distance. A low chuckle escaped your lips as you looked at him. "That's very rich coming from someone who tried to become a god." You teased as you lay your bum on the floor with your legs crossed, giggling at your little joke.
Your short statement made the Wanderer's blood run cold, if he had any. Ever since her erased himself from Irminsul, no one else other than the traveller, Paimon, and Bier could have known, yet, some imposter knew that. "How did you..." The Dendro Archon overhead you and Hat Guy's little exchange and came over with a tinge of fear behind her face brimming with courage. "How did you know all that? Ever since he was removed from Irminsul, no one should have known about that."
Your smile was unchanging as you looked up to her and giggled. "Tehehe... Maybe you could try guessing-" your voice leaving a little teasing tone as your eyes remain on the young Archon.
The Dendro Archon remains unmoving, her eyes still as untainted waters of a clear spring, the clarity deceivingly clear. "Because you've seen it before, again and again, countless times, in every loop you've experienced..." She voiced out with a tinge of pity laced in her stern facade.
Your smile was drowned out by the Lord's words, while also leaving her company confused. Standing up from your laxed form, slightly towering over the young Archon while your eyes were dead set on hers, your teasing aura vanished into a tense and trembling form. "You... remember...?" Your voice quivered as well as your eyes. Your once calm facade crumbled showing the same prey that was hunted countless times.
Walking back into the shadows that filled the cell you were locked in, turning away as thoughts and words escaped your lips in mumbles, mumbles no one else in the dungeon could understand. Facing the wall you clenched your fingers on the surface, grabbing onto what little sanity is left before madness drove your mind. "Lieslieslieslieslieslies... Even... evenifyouremember... You paused your rapid mumbling as you clenched your hands harder on the wall, breaking your nails before your blood oozed out.
Your silence filled the dungeon with a haunting flavour, like the clam before the storm, leaving the Dendro Archon and her companion uneasy. "Kusanali, we should leave this nutjob. We're not gonna get anything from them." Wanderer tries to tell his concerns, but Nahida was laser focused on getting more from you.
The silence was deafening before it was interrupted but the sound of a droplet hitting the floor, then another, and another. Your hands rested on your sides, before turning your head to the two outside your cell.
Your sudden change in form left the two alarmed as Wanderer gets in front to protect the Archon.
You were still as still a statue; in an instant, you leapt onto thern but you were stopped by the bars holding you in. Your eyes showed an insane victim conscience about freedom or a trap. "Remembering that means NOTHING!!! LIARS! You're just here to ask me SHIT aren't ya!!!" Your furious yells echoed through the hollow halls while. While your hands gripped harder on the bars, your blood continued to flow, blood of glimmering gold against the small ember of light flickering from a lamp.
"You're... The Overseer...?"

AU: SAGAU
Can you do one where they thought the reader would be a male but really the reader is a female. And when the reader is isekaid everyone treats her normally and then she meet childe and they fall in love. Then everyone finds out reader is the creator, and how everyone would react when they find out she is dating childe. Mostly the harbingers and the tsaritsa
 Some things might not have gone your way, I’m sorry if it isn’t to your liking
Tumblr media
Somewhat Yandere, leads to Childe / Tartaglia / Ajax x reader, female!reader, girly reader
Tumblr media
You weren’t really the one to speak during playing a game, but you were always willing to be on a call with your online best friend who you’d consider as your long lost twin. So here you are, trying to level up Keqing and Amber to level 70 in their character sheets.
Unknowingly, the characters are well aware. For both of your best friend’s world and yours. As you can see, SAGAU works for the two of you… With every other many people. Makes sense, doesn’t it? Your best friend chooses someone’s destiny, and so do you, and you both get mistaken as the creators. It’s not false because you and your best friend would technically know “everything”.
But the thing is, the characters cannot hear your voice. They can only feel your presence and aura. So you were anonymous, even your face. Nobody would impersonate you. If someone did, they would pity the said person— while the Archons will send a light threat towards them to stop it and snap out of it, giving them a second chance to willingly change their plans. And it always works, because the imposter never has the divine blood or powers. Realistically I don’t think the characters would blindly believe an imposter anyway, because how are they supposed to believe someone, if the divine is always controlling the traveler? Exactly. The divine hasn’t gone into Teyvat. Not just yet.
And Venti would personally see this as a mock towards the divine, so most of his threats are violent, because he knew how it was to impersonate someone. But it’s different for him. He gets to slip away because he had no choice. The Archons and Celestia knew that, leaving him be and not hunting him down. They’re not that crazy.
People can change for the better, that’s why they don’t kill imposters unless the imposters go too far with it. They learned that because you like bullying some people too, much to their notice whenever they feel your anger and sarcasm— despite not hearing you…. But you can be sweet and gentle as well.
At this point they thought you were a male, because you seem rather strong and brave to go against a boss with such little leveled artifacts… Yet somehow you still won, and now you’re leveling up for the battle with Signora doesn’t know, mind you.
But that’s when things happen, with you teleporting into Teyvat in an accident, not knowing what was going on and what was happening. You just knew, you were totally screwed because you ended up in Teyvat.
And you ended up meeting Childe, being quite startled by him once he had shown up, with his hydro weapon in hand before realizing you were just an innocent bystander.
That’s where it began.
Now, you’re not quite one to trust Childe because uhm……. Yeah. But, if you show him some respect like how Yoimiya did in her voicelines, you might as well give it a try to befriend him. So that’s where it lead to, you being a listener as Childe was questioning where did you come from and why did you wear such… Weirdly unique clothing.
You lied to him. Telling you were originally from Liyue, but then got kidnapped by some crazy hoarders and mixed their clothes together to create your outfit. Childe was surprised, thrilled and told you how much of a genius you were, but you just went by being humble and told him you weren’t. Haha. He didn’t believe that bullshit, because you were an absolute genius… And to think you survived those damn hoarders.
The friendship grew out, that the news about you spread like a wildfire… Though, everyone treated you normally, while the Fatuis had no absolute care about you. They would canonly, for SAGAU of the reader hid their identity (without knowing), could care for absolutely nothing. Not even the wanderer would care for you, unless he has seen how much you’re such a genuine friend.
Yeah. That’s exactly how it ended up into… You see, when you spent your time so much in Liyue being so silent and so polite— nodding and just trying to help people out, it eventually lead every commissions (That didn’t involve fighting) to you. You were now the new “traveler” everyone could rely on.
And everyone just simply adored you, even Ying’er and those people who sold things around Liyue. Yanfei was even going to book in a house for you, pitying about your life and was horrified about how many years you’ve been stuck with a bunch of hoarders. Once she sees them, she will give them a piece of her mind in the name of the law.
This attracted other nations… And the more nations tried communicating with you, the more they realized how much pure bright aura you had spread throughout the entire Teyvat world. And much to say the least, the traveler Lumine was so grateful you existed— because she’s now becoming less tired! You’re helping her out!
Everyone was so extremely fond of you, adoring every bit of your habits and movements, gazing at you like a hawk whenever you slept around. Because you’re lazy, and weak. You’re not strong or badass, but that was quite fine with them because they didn’t expect much. Why would you want to fight anyway? You think fighting is cringe when you do it, and find yourself comfortable doing makeup and being just— cozy.
You stayed in Teyvat, thinking this was just all a sweet shifting possibility, thinking you’ll wake up by the next morning. Wheezing and laughing every-time someone tried flirting with you, but got scolded by another.. And you managed to somehow get the Archons to speak to you first. Without doing anything.
You were a peaceful lazy tired gem, who just happens to be a normal civilian in Teyvat. You just wanted to do makeup in peace.
Childe was in love, not much to your surprises… Having deeper conversations with you inside your bedroom on your bed, having a sleepover under the fairy lights, talking about deep things. It eventually lead you two to open up, for the very first time ever since you two grew to be friends.
You were still nice and kind, not saying much about yourself which made Childe just— frown. He wanted to get to know you more, and urged you to continue on. Might’ve slipped up that he was in love with you, and since you thought that this was still yourself shifting into Teyvat— you approved of his confession.
How did the entire Teyvat react to this? Hah. They didn’t know actually… The wanderer might be suspicious of how close you and Childe were but, he thought you two were just best friends— so he finds every possibility to annoy Childe whenever he hugs your waist and sticks his tongue out at Childe, because you couldn’t see due to the hug. The wanderer saw you as an important friend he could’ve ever caught on with… A friend who saw his importance.
Heizou and Kazuha would even try sending you bouquet of (Favorite flower), telling you you are beautiful everyday. Everyone just… Seemingly saw you as their important best friend. It’s because they worshipped their God who hadn’t been… On for an odd while. They worried, feeling their hearts pounding and throbbing so quickly they felt like the need to burn their skin to melt themselves, and then kill and crush people. Why wasn’t their God back?
Please divine God come back.
You even notice how weird they acted every time they hung out with you, seeing them on their knees in front of a faceless statue… That was portioned like a male body, making you raise an eyebrow. Was this another Archon? An Archon you never knew about?
No… He must be more greater than an Archon… Why would the Archons bow down like this…? Unless, you’ve ended up into one of those weird fan fictions where there’s a divine God…
But luckily it “wasn’t” you~ And it was a male God, so you were fine, right?? You continued dating Childe who completely left the phase of praying to the divine. Oh, no, don’t get him wrong! He appreciates his God and everything…
But…
The way he got so emotionally close to you, made him choose you over the divine. He would kill the divine if it meant to have such a loving calm quiet person like you. That’s how much Childe likes you. You’re not special, but the fuck does he care about that for? You eat, sleep, laze around, and have this weird “artifact” on your hands, but remove it whenever you pamper him with kisses as he gives you the princess treatment. He’s so whipped for you, down bad.
And the afternoon continued on like usual. You were just asleep, seated down, head on the table above your arms while Ayato and Ayaka were simply so happy going to Liyue to know you! You were such a fun person, having dark jokes— Which uh, Cyno quite loved but, other than that you were harmless, just pretty normal which was refreshing for them… And they were always loyal to their divine, no doubt, they’re just squeezing you into the loyalty because… You were just a stunning best friend they could’ve asked for.
With everyone around the table talking and chattering, with Childe sitting so close to you as well with Wanderer, glaring at one another… Xiangling and Thoma accidentally dropped the knife from the tray, hitting your skin that you barely even felt, but woke up because it felt like a bug hitting your skin. Your body slightly flinched, but you didn’t scream or cry, your tired pretty eyes gazing confused at everyone. They looked horrified until…
Something leaked out of your skin, much to your surprise when you noticed there was— not gold— but pink blood running down, trickling slowly to the floor. It was said that gold was the divine’s original blood, but if it was pink, it’s the reincarnation of the divine…
The Archons had wide eyes, their skin going pale before they all stood up with shaky and heavy breaths, their hearts clenching while the entire planet of Teyvat fell into silence.
“… Uhm, you guys oka—”
“Y-You’re the divine?! The divine was a girl?!”
The yelling of Thoma startled the living shit out of you, as you stared at him baffled. You have never seen that man yelling so much before… Before noticing him and Xiangling trembling on their knees, their tears trickling out with absolute fear and regret. Guilt.
“P-Please let us treat you our divine! Barbara!!”
Jean had called out for her sister, who immediately ran towards you but… You just took the knife out?????? As if it didn’t do absolute shit to you?????????1?1?1?1?1?1????
Barbara swore she was about to faint. The true power of the divine was so strong, that not even a knife simply destroyed your mood. But it scared everyone, with Venti crying his eyes out, bawling before he grabs your wounded area and looked like he was going to murder someone.
Everyone was speechless. Childe was speechless. After all this time, he was dating the said God he had gone away from praying… Oh… Oh if you knew that he stopped, he was scared you were going to give him some punishment, an execution. Childe wouldn’t blame you, he would never.
“Guys… I’m just tired… Also this is just a scratch real- oh, now I heal—”
You somehow activated your regeneration ability, fascinating most who has seen it with their own eyes by now. And to say the least, they weren’t going to be happy by now that you started talking to Childe, by saying….
“Oh, thank you for the napkin darling.”
“Y-Your- I— uhm… Y-You’re welcome hon…! Ahah… I… You’re… Wow…”
Childe wouldn’t… Stop stuttering around you? Darling? Hon?! What was this all about?! The table was trying to process all this information, and before they could even say anything… You had gotten up to leave.
Childe is absolutely dying.
Because when it comes to the news spreading to Snezhnaya, the Tsaritsa is angry at Childe. Enraged that he dared to date her “feminine wifey”. The doctor and the fallen Angel will work together once more to get you, as Arlecchino and Pantalone struck a deal with one another with a handshake.
They will get you. They didn’t care before and they were blind by then, so now, let them take full care of you.
Do you still think this is yourself shifting into Teyvat, [Name]?

Anyway, Gabriel's role as Monarch is directly tied to Adrien. It doesn't make sense in terms of the story to split his character into two parts to act as a villain for both Marinette and Adrien separately, because Monarch has specifically been set up to impact Adrien's character as both a civilian and a hero.
Aside from the obvious part where the terrorist Adrien has been battling for months on end is his own father, Monarch's main motivation is to bring back Adrien's mother. That itself directly connects Adrien to his father's supervillain alter ego. They have even come into conflict over this, like in Felix.
Adding onto that, Gabriel's abuse of his son is also tied to his supervillain shenanigans. Gabriel has, on numerous occasions, targeted several of Adrien's classmates using Adrien as a way to get to them. Like in Bubbler, where he used Nino's relationship with Adrien as a way to akumatize him, while also ensuring that Adrien would remain isolated. Or even like in Optigami, where he uses Adrien's relationship to his classmates in order to execute his plan. There are several such examples, but the fact is that Gabriel exploits his son's relationships as a civilian in order to pull of his schemes. He involves his son in this whether Adrien is aware of this or not.
Aside from that, we have examples like him using Adrien as a virtual avatar for the Alliance rings which he uses to transfer Miraculous powers and uses to "Miraculize" people in the finale, literally by exploiting people's nightmares about his son being kidnapped by Ladybug and Chat Noir, essentially using his son's image as a way to perpetuate his plan.
And he has also deliberately targeted his son. See Riposte, Gorizilla, Style Queen, Representation, etc. He at his worst, is not concerned whether or not his own son is targeted by someone who might want to slice him apart or let him crumble into dust, and at best, is worried but not enough to stop. And there are the cases where he exploits his own relationship with his son in order to akumatize him. See Chat Blanc and Ephemeral. None of these would have happened if Hawkmoth/Shadow Moth had been anyone but Gabriel Agreste. Him being Adrien's father matters here. See Transmission for a non-magically erased example, where he is able to give Adrien an Alliance ring under the guise of being a caring father so that he can akumatize him.
Aside from that, Gabriel uses his powers to enforce his control over his son. The most obvious example of this is the whole "Adrien is a Sentimonster" business, wherein Gabriel uses the rings with Adrien's Amok to mind-control him. This directly ties his abuse of Adrien to his magical shenanigans. Aside from this, there are subtler ways, such as him using his akumatization into The Collector to guilt-trip and gaslight Adrien in The Collector and Illusion. Or when he akumatizes Kagami in order to stop his son from going against his wishes in Protection. He specifically takes advantage of his supervillain powers to abuse and control his son.
And even forgetting all this, his supervillainy involves causing harm to Adrien's friends, whom he then has to fight and save. Imagine the pain he might feel when he realizes that his father is responsible for all that. That his father hurt his best friend to take advantage of that sadness. That his father went after his friends in their moment of vulnerability to turn them into his minions. All this under the notion of bringing his mother back, even as he hurt and neglected him.
And Adrien has been fighting this man on a regular basis. He's fought this man. He's accidentally mortally wounded this man. Gabriel is crumbling and dying under his cataclysm, and he doesn't know that he's essentially killed his father (he's not to blame, of course, but still). Imagine the horror that comes with knowing this, imagine the pain. Chat Noir and Monarch are not impersonal enemies, even if they don't know it yet. Chat Noir is Adrien and Monarch is Gabriel, and they are father and son. Gabriel's motivation is about Adrien and Adrien's mother. Adrien has been fighting the man who has been abusing him, in part using the magical items he possesses. Chat Noir, to Adrien, represents freedom from his life, and especially represents freedom from Gabriel.
You cannot separate Gabriel into Gabriel the abusive father and Monarch the supervillain. You cannot. Not in the way this story is written. It would be a better argument if Gabriel were a generic villain who just wanted world domination or something, but he isn't. His motivation is personal to both himself and Adrien. Marinette does not have the same stakes in this. She feels the responsibility to defeat him, sure, but when it comes down to it, it is Chat Noir who has the emotional brunt of this confrontation, even made physical by the deadly wound unwittingly caused by his power on his father. And it's not like Chat Noir doesn't feel the responsibility to take down Monarch either. Marinette may be the Guardian, but she is not at the center of this. By virtue of how the story is written, Adrien is the one who will be most affected by Monarch being Gabriel, he is directly linked by virtue of being the hero who is fighting his father, and the confrontation is and should be between them.
I say this, of course, in the objective sense of how the story is written, not because I think Marinette shouldn't be the lead and Adrien should. As it stands, Adrien is the one with the emotional stakes in the matter, and he was cast aside. This isn't a matter of wanting my favourite character to have the spotlight, this is a simple matter of narrative payoff and thematic consistency. Plot points that are set up need to be resolved. If they set up Adrien and Gabriel as father and son, they need to deal with it. If they wanted Marinette to be the one to defeat Gabriel and be the only one who fights Monarch, then they shouldn't have given Adrien the arc of breaking free from his father by virtue of becoming a superhero. If they wanted the emotional core of the conflict against Monarch to lie with Marinette, they shouldn't have made him Adrien's father.
If Monarch was meant to be Marinette's villain, then what is the point of Chat Noir? Why was Adrien made into a superhero when he was never meant to fight his father? Why have him swear to be by Ladybug's side to defeat Monarch, why have him mortally wound him, why have him there at all, if none of it mattered? Why is it called The Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, if Chat Noir was never going to be relevant? Why write it like this if it was supposed to end with him being left out of the arc they seemingly set up for him?
As it is, Marinette doesn't even defeat Monarch by being a badass superhero. She talks him down using his relationship to Adrien. This is undeniable proof that Gabriel and Monarch are not separate. This was never Marinette's fight. In the end, it still comes down to Adrien. You cannot remove the fact that they are father and son from this, you cannot separate their identities. When it comes to defeating the big bad, the fact that he is Gabriel and Adrien is his son matters most by how the story is written. Throwing Marinette in there at the last minute and trying to give her the greatest stakes in the fight will never work, because the story is built around the Agrestes from the beginning.
If they wanted Marinette to have the boss battle to herself, they should not have made Monarch Adrien's dad. He should have been some rando. Then Marinette would have the most stakes in the fight and the Bug Noire thing wouldn't be as insulting. But they didn't, so she didn't. We were left with a finale which had cool fight scenes, but not emotional payoff. I personally did not feel a thing watching it. Because there's nothing to be emotional about. Adrien was left out, and Marinette got a cool fight scene with no character moments to show for it because the emotional core of the conflict was never about her.
When you set something up, you can't sweep it under the rug because you wanted something else later. You can't ignore what you wrote because you don't wanna write it anymore. If they set up Adrien and Gabriel's relationship this way, it has to be addressed. It has to be dealt with. If Adrien was supposed to confront his father and free himself from his control, then he should be allowed to face him, not have Marinette do it for him. And if Marinette was supposed to have a stake in her battle, she shouldn't have to play the supporting role in a conflict that isn't about her ultimately, and she shouldn't be shoehorned into the role another character should occupy without any of the narrative or emotional weight in the matter.
No one got a good conclusion here. Marinette was shoved into someone else's arc instead of having her own. Adrien was ejected from his arc. Both their characters suffered here. The narrative set-ups were demolished, and the themes were destroyed. Both Adrien and Marinette deserved better than this.

Something I missed the first time I read this chapter was that when Inuyasha took the shards away from Kagome, he — maybe purposefully — does so in a way that gives her more than enough reasons to assume the worst of him, given the context.
Tumblr media
And yet, even if it was clear that Inuyasha wasn't being controled or impersonated by someone else, it took Kagome some time to even consider the option that he had betrayed her to steal the jewel.
Tumblr media
Even after the possibility crosses her mind, she seems to have immediately ruled it out because in the next scene she is literally sighing over him.
Tumblr media
And later on we are shown how worried she is about his wound and the fact that he still hasn't come to get her because she keeps on waiting and hoping that he would.
Tumblr media
Once they are finally reunited, Kagome doesn't make any accusations, she doesn't even ask for an explanation. She doesnt have to. She simply hugs Inuyasha and tells him how worried she was and how much she just wanted to see him.
Tumblr media
That's an insane level of faith to have on someone, especially so early in the relationship.

I don’t know exactly why but nothing will ever beat one character knowing another so well that they can immediately tell they’re being either mind controlled or impersonated because of some incredibly mundane personality trait. So satisfying
ANON you are so correct for this. and going beyond just knowing if someone is being mind controlled, there's when a character knows someone so well that it doesn't matter what form their soul takes, they know it's them. see:
Tumblr media
bitingrippingtearing.png
but also this makes it all the more tragic that:
1) nobody knew Harrow nor Gideon well enough to recognize that Nona wasn't either of them!!! Cam and Pal *tried*, and they *CARED* but they still only spend like. 2 weeks? together, during most of which Harrow refused to speak to anyone and Gideon was forbidden to
2) over 10,000 years nobody noticed that G1deon was gone sometimes!!! like bro that's your son-brother-lover-saint!!!! but i guess when you are only God's third favorite... :/
anyway i NEED Harrow to meet Kiriona and instantly be able to tell without a doubt that it IS her Gideon, and i need the angst storm that would follow ❤️

The way Felix "couldn't stand up to his abuser until AFTER he was already dead" Fathom is consistently victim blaming Adrien about not standing up to Gabriel.
Y'know, like a hypocrite.
To be clear this is criticism of Felix expecting something of other people that he never did. Not of Felix being incapable of doing so.
Also it's just not true? Adrien's first act in Canon is him rebelling against his father. Hell, his whole relationship with Marinette is a rebellion against his father!
Adrien is being literally mind controlled and he still finds ways to skirt around Gabriel's orders.
But none of it matters.
Because the writers threw out any semblance of moral ambiguity in favor of black and white storytelling.
That's why, after they decided to make Felix a "good guy" they desperately want to make everyone forget about the scene where he buys and sells slaves.
That's why Adrien isn't allowed to hate his cousin for impersonating him and creating Monarch and abuse enabling Gabriel.
Because the writers have decided that "Felix is right" and so by extension Adrien is "wrong". We can't have "family" cutting a toxic person out of their lives now can we?
And the fandom is only too happy to go along with this.
Because outright saying "sentimonsters are a slave race" makes them uncomfortable.
Because the fandom is all too willing to talk about how Adrien has to work at not perpetuating the cycle of abuse when he grows up. But for some reason refuses to engage with Felix's actions as doing just that.
Perpetuating the cycle of abuse. Not in the future towards some hypothetical children but right now to his own family.
Felix has already committed unforgivable acts. And that was before telling someone who isn't Adrien that you can mind control him using a piece of jewelry.
No it doesn't. Fucking. Matter. That he told Marinette/Adrien's girlfriend. That is still Not Adrien.
And to be quiet frank, is none of her fucking business.
I hate sentimonsters as allegory. I really do.
But this is like going up to someone's significant other and saying "Oh yeah he's queer."

yesterday i watched When Evil Lurks, which is a recent argentinian horror film i found out about for reasons entirely unrelated to being argentinian (this rotten tomatoes article ranks it as the best horror film of 2023)
it's at first glance a simple plot, demonic possession in tiny rural town, guy tries to save his family from it, but with an interesting-to-me twist on that, which is that
demonic possession is a recognised phenomenon. The government has standard protocols to deal with it; having actually encountered an instance of demonic possession is rare, but basic things about what to do and not do are common knowledge.
when the main character tells people about the demon, the answer isn't "demon aren't real", it's "how would you, a random hick, recognise a possessed person if you saw one" or "nah, demons are a big city thing, we live in the ass-end of nowhere, there can't be one here".
which leads to a theme of the film; the horror isn't coming from an outside-context event nobody was prepared for, but rather people who should know better acting short-sightedly and failing to deal with a problem they totally could have.
a woman reports her son has been possessed. everyone knows this means a demon is trying to be born into the world, and if they don't kill it (carefully, properly, using specialised equipment and trained professionals) there will be dire consequences (not fully specified, but lots of people die merely in the process of the demon being born). The 'cleaner' (professional demon-killer) doesn't get there for a year. it's not clear why; one wealthy landowner speculates the whole thing was meant to screw with him, and I don't think he's right but clearly something comparably fucked up is going on, even if it's impersonal institutional failure rather than politicking. and because they took too long, the demon has grown in power, its influence has spread, and it mind controls someone into ambushing and killing the cleaner as the starting event of the plot.
the main characters get dragged into a plan where, well, the government isn't dealing with it, so let's just carry the possessed person a few hundred kilometres away (he cannot move under his own power) and make it someone else's problem. everyone has the background to know this is predictably a terrible idea that makes everything worse.
one of the standard things-everyone-knows about demons is you should not use guns against them. nevertheless people keep pointing guns at the various manifestations of demonic activity, while people are yelling at them not to.
in i think fitting accordance to this theme, the protagonists fail. the demon is born, with unclear implications for the general area though certainly bad ones. they failed because they are human and selfish and short-sighted, and also because the entire institutional structure that should be doing better than that let the problem fester.
there's a clear element of contagion to how demonic influence spreads; if you're in contact with the possessed at all, you're supposed to abandon everything you own and burn your clothes (this being part of the reason why it's a terrible idea to move the possessed). if one where to subscribe to the school of thought where every horror monster is a metaphor for a societal problem, this obviously suggests the covid pandemic as the Social Issue We Are Exploring Today
...but I don't, and I think that's a limited reading. i think it's about something broader than that, about individual human weaknesses and how they lead to collective failures. or at least that's what I get out of it.

War is always hard, but regardless, your village is too remote and too little to be of any consequence to invaders. Even as violence rages all around you, in your isolated little life, you're safe - until you're not. Divine intervention saves you.
Did you know Morax’s eyes glow in the dark?

There are always legends about the lord of Geo. No matter where or how far you roam in Liyue, from the tiniest peasant village to the shining palaces of war mongering dynasties, Rex Lapis’ greatness was always the favorite subject of housewives and bards and soldiers. He was their god, as beloved as he was magnificent.
Of course, this was before Liyue was Liyue.
This was when the people of Liyue were disjointed and scattered to the winds. Centuries later, storytellers would begin the tale like this: the Anemo Archon had blown a once centralized civilization to the four corners of Liyue to play a prank on Rex Lapis. Only a worthy ruler such as he would be able to bring them back together, a union that was destined.
That wasn’t the truth so much as tribal warfare simply prevented their unification in the first place. Before Rex Lapis had gathered his people and brought them to that prosperous city on the shore, named for his nation, that country had existed under individual warlords as nation-states.
Nation states that fell into conflict more often than not.
Wars constantly raged across Liyue’s vast landscape, decimating forests and razing mountains. It was a beautiful but dangerous land. No one was beholden to laws outside of designated limits, and travelers were perpetually at risk unless protected by a higher lord.
Your mother worried about this, but not you. Never you, too young even though you were already of marriageable age to think about such things. The horrors of war couldn’t touch you here, never mind that they already had. You had lived your entire life without a father, taken before you were born. You didn’t miss him. You had no one to miss.
Evil was something that happened to other people in other villages. It was devastating but impersonal, a soft sigh and a shake of the head to signify sympathy, pity, but never reserved for your own.
When darkness smoldered over the thatched roofs of your village, your heart lept into your throat, but for the wrong reason. Innocent. Naïve. Stupid. You assumed a fire had broken out and rushed back home with buckets of water.
This had happened before, and it was always a community effort to put it out. After all, your houses were flammable. If one went up, the rest ran the risk of falling to the same fate. Everyone, aunties, uncles, and all would come out to form lines of water carriers. Even after the fire had ceased to exist, you would all collapse together in the village center, tired but safe at least. Happy to be together. Someone would form a line and start distributing food. Everyone would chip in something here and there for what needed to rebuild.
A fire is solvable. A fire brings the people together. A fire is a controlled, routine issue.
You don’t know how to react when people purposefully set the fire. For a second, you think they’re your own, but no, they couldn’t be.
Armor aside, no one in your village would do such an atrocious thing. You knew you were all connected. To hurt one was to hurt everyone - and yet, as you watched soldiers touch torches of burning coal to your homes, perhaps that was the goal.
Ashy smoke burns your lungs. Tears prick at your eyes, from the irritating particles and the pain of inhalation, but mostly from the knowledge that your home is being ruined.
This isn’t fair. You haven’t done anything wrong! You were just simply village people doing your best to scrape by. Watching not just your life’s work, but generations upon generations of blood, sweat, and tears be fed to flames is unbearable. Your people, your neighbors, the auntie who sings as she pounds dough into bread, the grandfather who keeps candy in his pockets, the little boy who pretends to work in the rice fields to keep his father company - they all depend on everything in these small huts. You are already a people of little means. You know they have nothing else.
It’s not just buildings that are being destroyed. It’s lives.
You can’t just sit by and watch.
Desperately, with your little bucket that does almost nothing against the inferno, you pour your meager offering out on the flames. Running back to the well is painful. The ground is so hot it scorches the soles of your feet and the smoke is impossible to breathe through, but you must persevere. You don’t know where everyone else is, but if you don’t act now, they won’t have a home to come back to.
Everyone may be fighting their own individual battles. You’d chosen yours, and that was to defend your village.
Tears stream down your face as you pour bucket over bucket of water, a contribution as little as an ant’s.
“Back, human,” an otherworldly voice whispers, and then a blue haired woman pushes past you. A hydro vision rests at her hip, and water runs from her fingertips. Seeing her, you tears flow anew. You know who she is.
All the legends are true. If the yaksha are here, it may mean-
Rex Lapis subdues the would be conquerors. He has made his way from territory to territory, making his distaste for heedless violence clear. Passing through ruined towns and despotic strongholds, he has freed the innocent and punished the tyrants.
Almost nothing was able to be salvaged from the fire despite the hydro yaksha’s valiant efforts. Your home, on the outskirts of town, were one of the first to be burned.
Still, you and your mothers count yourself lucky, because now you dine among immortals. One of Morax’s company, a young man with green shot through his raven black hair, gives up his tent for you, claiming he doesn’t sleep much anyways.
But even under Rex Lapis protection, sleeping in the silks of one of his most loyal servants, you can’t rest. Day after day, you rise, having barely slept, to perform your duties like the other refugees. Chores are to be completed even when you’re stricken by this strange illness. Still, you barely manage to stagger back every night. Your mother, worried sick, has spent her nights consulting the camp’s doctor. You feel horrible to concern her so, but you can’t help it.
Even laying as still as a stone, although your breathing stills, your mind does not. It races endlessly, carastrophizing the future. You cannot sleep even amongst your riches in both fortune and material luxuries.
“Xiao tells me you’ve been having nightmares.”
Morax is kind, but he is still terrifying.
You scream.
To be fair, you were startled by the hulking shadow looming by the entrance of your tent before your vision adjusted to make out who it was.
He turns towards you in surprise. “My dear girl! What is the matter with you?”
But you’re no longer listening.
Morax is beautiful.
But that’s not what’s taken your words from you.
It’s the fact that his eyes glow with the strangest, most welcoming light.
This is a god.
And he is not devastating, as the legends say. He does not look like a warrior. He looks like a lover, a creator, a peace giver.
He looks like home.
It hits you so hard, the longing, the mourning, the grief of everything you’ve lost.
Rex Lapis has eyes that make you homesick, not just for a place, but a time.
Without you having to speak a word, the god understands. Stepping towards you, he lets the fabric of the tents entrance fall shut. “You poor thing,” he murmurs. “I’m sorry I startled you. I just came to help you sleep.”
“Help me sleep?”
He pulls a chair up beside you. “Yes. In times like this, I find a story usually helps. Have you heard of the legend of the rabbit on the moon?”
For the first time in weeks, you fall into a soft, easy slumber, lulled by the sound of Morax’s voice.
Even so, it must have been a short nap. When you’re awoken by noises outside your tent, night is still cool and dark outside. But the camp is unusually riotous, and the noises don’t sound like celebration.
You’re prepared for the worst when the opening to the tent blows open so violently it might have been caused by a hurricane, but only a slim arm clad in armor pulls the fabric closed once again.
“Hey!” You’re disgruntled by this lack of respect for your privacy - what if you had been naked? Whirling around, the intruder looks vicious. The yaksha’s eyes flash like coins, but they don’t glow, not like the Lord of Geo’s.
“Ah.” He relaxes when he sees you. He had clearly forgotten you were there.
“What’s going on?” You demand.
“Stay inside, mortal.” He darts out once again, a bird on the wind bearing something greater than you will ever be.
Even war had not been able to beat disobedience out of you. Throwing on a light shawl, you wait one minute, then give chase.
It’s not the rival camp. A small mercy, but the truth might be even worse. Morax’s illuminated beasts have herded the troublemakers to the center of the camp. From your vantage point hidden among the tents, you can’t get a clear view of what’s happening, but you can guess.
Not everyone is happy with your current arrangement.
Liu Quan was always a hot headed boy, and now he is standing toe to toe with the Electro yaksha. “We’re sick of it here! We want to go home!”
“You have no home, anymore,” the other rumbles.
“You cannot keep us here,” Quan hisses.
Silly mortal pride. Even when faced the worst of circumstances, some men believed themselves above godly intervention. It was a noble trait to crave self sufficiency, but he would doom them all.
You can see the stand off turning ugly. Quan bristles, reacting emotionally to a bruised ego. In return, the yaksha are growing exasperated and condescending. They are reined in by the great Morax. They do not truly need to serve humans, and at this audacious behavior, they are remembering how much stronger they are. Once, humans were prey. They can be again.
Even worse, Morax is gone for an inexplicable reason, and the yaksha seem loathe to move without him. The situation could turn ugly. Even though mortals present no threat to them, Morax’s soldiers would never dare harm them. In a war where every resource is precious and every moment is a chance for another battle, they must not expand their energy attempting to corral, but not harm the mortals.
Before the tension breaks, you come out of the shadows where you’ve hidden yourself.
“Quan, the yakshas are only trying to protect us. We all must do what we must in times like these.”
The yaksha nods. “Listen to your friend, little mortal.”
You wish he hadn’t said that. He was only fanning the flames. If he hadn’t made the mistake of having you appear to align with him, rather than your fellow villagers, then Quan might have listened to you.
As it stands, Quan scoffs. “Stay out of this. I am doing what I must for our people. You wouldn’t understand.”
Your temper rises, but before you can speak, another voice, softer but far more commanding than any other that has split the night thus far, interrupts.
“I think that’s quite enough out of all you, isn’t it?”
“My lord,” Quan bows. Even angry, Morax’s people love him. He steps between the two quarrelling sides.
“I understand that you feel suffocated, but this is no way to go about it. If you truly wish to help, you may join my army-“
A gasp echoes through the crowd.
“But first, you must train under one of my generals. I think this a fair compromise.”
Quan hesitates, but in the end, he bows his head and defers to his king. “Yes, my lord. I will serve you with pride.”
The crowd disperses, murmuring to themselves at the unexpected turn of events. You turn to leave as well, when Morax calls your name.
Somehow, you’ve spent more nights with Morax than you haven’t for all the time you’ve spent in this camp. For a poor village girl who hasn’t even been able to imagine the brilliance of his gold eyes, much less perceive the rest of his glory, you have risen far to have the lord of Geo attending your bed.
“My lord, you needn’t- That is-“ You sigh, giving yourself a moment to compose yourself before you trip over the beginning of your sentence once more. “I’m not worthy of this.”
He raises an eyebrow. “All my people are worthy of my time.”
“Yes, but-“
“Would you argue against my judgement, my dear? I only do what I choose to. Would you deny me this choice?”
“You’re being unfair.” You murmur as you settle into your sheets, beaten.
“I’m sorry.” His mouth curves into a warm smile. “Can I make it up to you? Tonight, I think I will tell you about a dragon king.”
“You don’t need to make such efforts to disguise praise for yourself, my lord.”
His lips twitch. “No, not me. You’ll find that my friend is rather more…stony, shall we say?”
“Stony?”
He presses his finger to your lips, his message clear. Although you fight it tonight, disgruntled by the events that have occurred, his voice works it’s magic as always.
That does not leave you any more satisfied in the morning. From dawn to night, as you do your chores, you feel more helpless than ever. Although you disagree with his methods, you understand how Quan feels - stifled. At home, you are necessary. You bring the crops and keep the village running. But here, you are dead weight.
After all, you aren’t a soldier or a healer. You have no use in this camp - although brave, you’d courage rarely leads to anything. If Morax hadn’t intervened last night, you’re not sure you would have been able to break up the fight at all, try as you might.
If you are weak in body and spirit, how do you serve your god? More importantly, how do you serve your people? These paranoid thoughts plague you even long after the sun has set.
“Jiejie, I’m cold,” grouches a little child by your feet. The fire crackles still, but the flame has dwindled and she’s shivering. You scoop her into your arms as you feed more twigs into the blaze.
“Is that better?”
You can see the beginnings of a tantrum in her eyes. You’ve soothed enough children to know. Quick to avert the disaster, you wrap the blankets around her tighter.
“I know, why don’t I tell you a story?”
She stops seething. “What kind of story?”
Your mind desperately casts about for something interesting when the gold light of the flame sparks inspiration. Gold, like the color of a man’s eyes in the dark.
“A legend about a moon rabbit.”
“A moon rabbit!” Her eyes are wide with delight.
Slowly, as you begin to speak, words growing stronger and more confident as you continue, a small huddle forms around you. Men, women, and children alike seek out the warmth in each other and the fire. Your voice is soothing and soft as you recall the events of last night and add your own twists. One by one, they fall into slumber.
When you finish weaving your tale, allowing the last golden threads of embroidered myth and luminous embellishments of legend to settle over your sweet dreamers, you realize that one man remains awake.
Morax has come home.
His clothes are as impeccable as always. Perhaps it is the shield that you’ve seen him wield, as solid as adamantine, that prevents blood from splattering onto him. Whatever it is, you’re grateful he looks as gentle as always when he steps into the warmth of the fire and peers down at you.
“I think it’s your bedtime as well.”
“They-“
“Xiao is watching over them. You will find they can have no more dutiful or powerful guardian.”
Reluctantly, you allow him to lead you away, but to your surprise, even when he has set you to bed, he doesn’t leave. Instead, he settles into the chair by your bed you have to come think of as his, even if he has only used it once - twice, now.
“Do you have any requests?”
Mutely, you shake your head.
“Then content yourself with my choice.” Morax begins his story with a cowherd who looks longingly at the moon and wishes. He loves these stories, as you’ll come to find - common people rising to greatness. When you wake, he has already slipped out of your tent once again, but the feeling of last night lingers. You drift through a world encased in light and spun out of sugar - magic and fantasy and monkeys willing to help girls with noble spirits ready to pop out at any corner.
But over time, you grow tired of retelling Morax’s tales. He is a skilled weaver, it’s true, but counterfeit work, no matter how well done, always begins to lose it’s luster.
Instead, by hanging around the soldiers as they come home from war, stealing tidbits off Xiao as he pops in and out of his tent, and bothering Morax when he comes for his nighttime visitations, you begin to piece together a new legend. It is an epic, a magnificent and weighty beast, but it is one that you are desperate to share.
The Legend of Morax, the great shaper, begins to devour the camp’s imaginations. Whispers of it are snatched by greedy ears as cooks gossip by the fires, as soldiers rest in the shade and children play by the tents.
He teases you for it, of course, but it’s not as if you could help it. It comes to you as easily as breathing, snippets of life interspliced with daydreams and imagination, a world coming to life before you.
Morax fights and you speak; together, the war draws to a close. Years of fighting come to a quiet end. The Legend of Morax continues, following the noble soldier king who unified the land.
After a long and weary recovery, Morax and his camp of warriors are finally leaving. You are not alone in your sorrow, for everyone wants a token of your king (despite his protests that he is no such thing). It would be an honor to recount to generations down the line, how Morax had personally saved them.
Sneaking away, you know your lord well enough to know he will come find you. A part of you feels guilty for abusing his benevolence so, but the larger part of you is determined to do what is necessary.
He comes up behind you. Even though you can’t see him, you can feel his presence.
“What’s wrong, my dear?”
You’ve been building courage for this all day. If you follow through with the daydream that has been marinating for weeks, you must do it now, or not at all.
In one explosive action, you turn and wind your fingers into his sleeve to shout, “Morax, please take me with you!”
“What on earth is this about?”
“I can be of use to you, I promise! Please don’t leave me behind. I want to help!”
Gently, he untangles you from him. You can read between the lines and see the rejection for what it is.
Rex Lapis smiles and, as if he can read your mind, leans over to press his lips to your forehead. “This is not a goodbye. I am not abandoning you.”
You don’t want his pity.
“How could I lose such enviable talent? You will have to help advise me on mortal matters, of course.”
“Me!” You’re so surprised you don’t even register the rudeness of raising your voice against Morax. “Me! Advise you! My lord!”
Nearby, Madame Ping’s gentle laughter warns you of your volume.
His fingers are decorated with ceremonial rings shaped like claws. When he rests his hand on your head, you can feel the prick - sharp enough to draw blood, only restrained by his gentle nature.
“I couldn’t take you away from your mother, my sweet love. But I have need of your voice. Will your forgive me if I ask you to watch over your village? Lend me the words that have embellished my history and tell my people to come home to you.”
Rex Lapis has led a war camp for decades. You have transformed it into a thriving village, as if it was your own. People sing and laugh as they do their chores. A makeshift market of collapsible stands and goods moves with it. Home has sprang up under the shelter of your myths, but Morax is greedy. He wants that for all of his people.
For a warrior god, he has no interest in chasing battles. You bend your head to your lord. There is only one answer you can give.
It will take several more centuries before the name Liyue even begins to be discussed, much less for the city itself to grow into its peak, but even before then, Rex Lapis gains the title of architect in addition to warrior king. Scholars will wonder where it came from, during a time when Rex Lapis was a fighter before he was a unifier. There is no evidence to any significant constructions that might give him such an epithet.
The only clue lies in oral traditions passed down in a small village by the mountains, where the houses are, implausibly, made of rock in formations that seem natural rather than carved. At night, they seem to exude a faint light in the dark. Legends of Rex Lapis, the creator, were said to have been born from this curious little town, now a novel tourist attraction. They sprang first from the lips of a girl with burned feet, whose statue now looks over the center of a village for which she was willing to give her life.
They say she had Rex Lapis’ favor for the rest of that life. There was no other mortal who could claim to have his ear, or who was said to have entertained his visits. Of her, legends are told - the woman who tamed the dragon god.
Legends compare little to the truth. If anyone was tamed, it was you, come to rely on a singular man’s presence to lull you to sleep.
It’s become a sound so familiar that you body reacts even before your brain recognizes it. The footsteps are light and quick as the door to your home, then your bedroom creaks open.
“Hello, my dear,” Morax smiles, settling into a chair. He always looks like he belongs in any situation, even in your humble home.
“I wonder how you still have time for me, my lord,” you murmur, toying with your sheets. But you know the answer. This is a routine song and dance for you both - Morax will always have time for his people. He is a god who does not believe in sacrifices, no matter how small. An individual’s suffering is felt by him as that of a nation. It should be impossible, but he is an archon. He has performed miracles before, in front of your very eyes.
He hums affectionately and reaches out to still your frantic fingers, a complement to your hummingbird heart. After all these years, he still makes you nervous when he first arrives.
“Shall I tell you another story tonight?”

I think I’ve finally gotten my thoughts together about Felix.
Tumblr media
People have genuine things to hate about him: in his debut episode he lied to Adrien, impersonated him to destroy his relationships with his friends and classmates, tried to force kisses on Marinette (as Ladybug) WITHOUT CONSENT, and stole from Gabriel with a sinister smirk. He did apologize to Adrien and promised to be better, but when that smirk was revealed it seemed like another lie.
Tumblr media
Then, in Season 4, we got to see just a bit more of him. He was incredibly intelligent and cold towards others (he actively insulted Chloe, but he already knew her and didn’t like her). HOWRVER, one thing he didn’t do this time was try to manipulate Kagami, Adrien’s other friend. Granted he was more focused on ShadowMoth/Gabriel. But another thing: HE REJECTED AN OFFER OF POWER from ShadowMoth. That isn’t something to take lightly. Unlike other villains who would’ve happily taken the power (I.e. Chloe and Lila), he outright REFUSED and broke control. Then, he came back in the finale to get info on Gabriel while telling Adrien he would take his place on the tour. But here’s the thing: after he found the secret of Emelie, he didn’t just abandon his deal with Adrien. Even after Adrien said he was gonna follow through with the deal he made with his father and go on tour. Instead, Félix still stayed in his place, probably in his kind to free up his cousin and gave him he happy, or now. He could have just been using it to get away from Gabriel and make sure he was far enough away with the Peacock Miraculous he believed he had stolen, but he still honored his deal with his cousin and kept up the charade. But again, we don’t really know.
Tumblr media
Then, he betrayed Ladybug after he gave her the dog miraculous, and exchanged all her miraculous for the real Peacock for reasons we still didn’t know
Tumblr media
But now, we’re learning more. In Emotion, he did kidnap Adrien and lie to Kagami. But again, he didn’t try to destroy Adrien’s relationship with her this time. In fact, he bonded with her (after realizing she’s probably a sentimonster too). Then, when Marinette comes and gives him a genuine confession and kind, supportive words, we see ACTUAL GROWTH. Remember, Félix saw the video of a Marinette saying she loved Adrien in his debut episode, and he hated her. But this time, instead, he didn’t try to make Adrien a bad guy. Even if he was acting, it seemed like he was genuinely happy with Marinette. Cause her words may have also gotten to him. He’s already been spying on their date, and I’m guessing he may have still had doubts about her being genuine. But her showing up at the dance changed that (at least in my mind).
Tumblr media
Remember, in her speech, she said not only she loved Adrien, but she understood why he didn’t tell her about the dance, that she wasn’t mad, that he was going through a hard time, and that she was proud of him anyways for doing the best he could. And to him, that must’ve been something. He saw that unlike every other person he’s seen Adrien interact with (his father, his fans, Lila, Chloe), this girl seemed to genuinely care about Adrien’s happiness and for him as a person, not just some idol or prize or tool. Please note this time he didn’t try to sexually assault her or make any undue advances towards her either, although that can be argued since she thought he was Adrien. So, when he danced with her, and she called herself a monster (in regards to the other prissy rich kids staring in horror), he got angry. Because he saw one of the only genuinely good people he knew (aside from Adrien and his own Mother) beat themselves up cause of others prejudice.
Tumblr media
Also, keep in mind, he transformed only after Chloe ATTACKED Marinette. Sure, it was a distraction to take advantage of, but I see it as also seeing the perfect moment to protect someone good and enact his plan to save Adrien and himself. Cause after he snapped everyone except Kagami away (cause he bonded with her and saw she was like him), he brought Marinette away to a place she’d be safe from his powers. A place where no light from his Red Moon sister would touch her, so she wouldn’t be at risk. He wasn’t just dumping her to get her out of the way. He could’ve just snapped her away and brought her back if he wanted to do that. BUT HE DIDNT.
Then, after confronting Ladybug and snapping her away and bringing back Kagami and Adrien, he reveals his desire to free himself and Adrien, and now Kagami, of their controllers and oppressors, to just make a world where they would be happy and free. And he knew Adrien wouldn’t be happy on this world without Marinette, that’s ANOTHER reason he protected her. He wanted Adrien to be happy AND saw she was a good person.
Tumblr media
When he shows Adrien this to make her happy, and sees she isn’t there and his power to bring her back isn’t working, he genuinely starts to panic and apologize. When Kagami and Adrien demand they bring her back, he agrees WITHIUT HESITATION and doesn’t argue his mistake. He thought his powers hurt one of the people he car s about most, his Cousin, whom we now see he does seem to genuinely care about. When he sees the three of them reunite in relief, he looks genuinely guilty and worried.
Another thing to note: Félix regards his non-humanoid sentimonster as any other living being, speaking to it as it understands him. Mayura and Gabriel NEVER did that. Just saw them as mindless tools. He doesnt. He speaks to her as a person, despite that she can’t speak at all, nor has a face, or a discernible personality. And when he releases her from existence, he apologizes because he shouldn’t have created her with so much hate and used her powers to hurt people he cared about. He cried not only for her, but what he had done to hurt his cousin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the end of the episode, his mother confirms what his thoughts were at the beginning of the episode: that everyone except Adrien were just cruel monsters who didn’t care or weren’t good. But now, he’s taking back his stance on that. His feelings have changed. Not only is there another senti-being he can relate to now, but there’s a normal girl whom is so kind and genuine and makes his cousin happy. He now sees there are good people in the world other than his mom and cousin, and he doesn’t want to hurt them.
Tumblr media
So yes, in the beginning he was an AWFUL person. I’m not going to excuse his actions in earlier seasons at all. But here’s the thing about him (and I’m not using this as an excuse, I’m going to use it as a reference guide): he’s a child. He’s a damaged, grieving, super intelligent but emotionally immature child. This does NOT excuse what he did in his debut episode AT ALL, but it does remind us of something: as children grow, they learn. And as they learn, THEY CAN CHANGE. And Félix seems to be doing that every time we see him. Sometimes those changes are good (I.e. rejecting HawkMoth’s powers, apologizing to Adrien) and sometimes they’re bad (I.e. betraying Ladybug). But he seems to be learning every time we see him.
So, is he a good guy or a bad guy? I think he’s a damaged kid who wants what’s best for those he lives and doesn’t know how to do it right. I think he was cruel and hurtful and cold and closed off, but now he’s learning other ways to be better.
The world is full of greys. Nothing is just as simple as hero and villain most of the time. I think that’s what Félix represents.

Lokius writing prompts 2
Recently I don't have anything to do at my job during the night so I sit and think of the Lokius writing prompts. This is why I created the second part of the list. First part is here and third part here. If anyone uses them, please let me know. I want to read it.
1 - After the end of Loki season 2, Mobius as a reward takes Loki to the Endgame scene where Dr Strange gives Thanos the time stone. They stop Thanos and meet the Avengers and Guardians. Together with Dr Strange, they all head to Earth to fight the Chitauri. You can use only the first part of the prompt or, if you wish, you can write my full vision for this scene:
As the stone flies to Thanos, Loki's hand appears out of nowhere and grabs the stone. The rest of Loki then appears and uses the stone to freeze Thanos' hand, the one with the gauntlet. Loki then scolds Doctor Strange for trying to give the stone to the Mad Titan. Loki continues to introduce himself in his usual style (with glorious purpose and all), but adds his variant number and copies the judgement scene from Loki. He lists Thanos' crimes (both serious and not, such as being annoying, perhaps adding a few crimes against himself) and asks how Thanos pleads. Thanos says he has no right to judge him, but Loki says this right was given to him by the TVA represented by his friend Mobius here. He points at him and, for the first time, all the people present notice Mobius standing in the back. Loki then passes judgment (he can use the stone to destroy Thanos). Later he, Mobius and the confused Avengers and Guardians talk; Dr Strange teleports them all to Wakanda to fight the Chitauri, and after the fight Loki and Mobius meet Thor. Thor may be pleased that Loki made a friend or be suspicious or even hostile as he worries after losing Loki from his timeline. The second and third options could be an opportunity for Loki to protect Mobius from Thor with magic or words. And also Mobius can defend Loki when someone tries to insult him.
(EDIT to prompt 1: you can add the fact that apparently Loki is going to be a god of stories)
2 - Tony Stark accidentally finds an old photo of Loki with an unknown gentleman from the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Trying to find any information about the mysterious gentleman, Tony finds a man who looks exactly like the man from the fair living in modern times. He is a divorced 50-year-old jet-ski salesman. Tony decides to meet the man and talk to him.
3 - After the destruction of the TVA, Mobius is transported to New York in 2012 during a battle. Mobius realises that he woke up there because it was the moment of his Nexus Event (but now the TVA won't capture him for any changes). He decides to stop Loki and to do so he finds Thor and convinces him to hit Loki very hard on the head to stop the mind control. They manage to wake Loki from the mind control, but: A - This Loki is the one from the TVA, but when his mind was transferred to a past body, he was again influenced by Mind Stone. B - This is the Loki of that time and he doesn't know Mobius, but after getting to know him better he can't help but also like Mobius. Especially since he is the only person who believes in him and tries to help him (TVA Loki can be either dead or lost and later found)
4 - Loki resides in Asgard impersonating Odin. As we know, he was mainly concerned with the development of culture (mainly theatre). One day he is shocked when he meets a strange mortal (as if mortals in Asgard weren't strange enough) who tries to convince Loki that danger is coming and Loki should prepare all of Asgard for an invasion (TVA Loki has died and now Mobius is trying to save this Loki from Hela and Thanos).
Bonus points if in post season 2 canon complaint stories every member of TVA hates spaghetti with burning passion.
More bonus points for Loki's interactions with various members of the Avengers, Guardians, SHIELD, etc.
Even more bonus points for Lokius slow burn.
Tell me what you think of my ideas!

I mean the idea of Makoto and co.'s plans being morally questionable is kind of interesting. But the story doesn't frame it as such. We the audience are meant to look it as a clear morally good thing. And for me the only way I could possibly look at the Neo World Program in that light is if there was something that made the situation so unique, that standard rehabilitation was impossible. Which kind of makes something like mind control a borderline necessity for Makoto's decision to be presented as squeaky clean as it is.
As for how I personally headcanon Junko mentally reconditioning them, I picture it as a few of them being kidnapped for about a couple days at a time. And being subjected to all kinds of fucked up shit that was partly stolen from the academy's research. A combination of the memory altering technology from Yasuke, powerful hallucinogens created by Seiko, hypnosis derived from Ryota's animation, and so on. Along with isolation, sensory deprivation, physical torture, etc.
I think memory altering could play a huge role in building up resentment towards other members of the class. Rewriting happy memories into negative ones. Which creates a very ugly atmosphere when Junko releases her newly molded Despairs back among their unsuspecting classmates. Plus it could help psychologically shatter the morale of the next ones she reconditions if their own classmates assist in their torture.
I picture each conditioning session being unique to each member of the class. Like for example with Imposter, something heavily centered around the fact that they lack a sense of identity. Playing on their resentment and envy of the rich and power they impersonate. Or Mahiru, being subjected to something akin to what Chisa was in the anime, but with static photography (including crime photos of Natsumi and Sato). And being hypnotized to associate images of violence and cruelty with a sense of joy.
There's lots of great potential for nightmare fuel writing, even with brainwashing applied. Like this one bit of art someone drew of Nagito being made to cut off his arm while Junko was still alive at her command gave me one idea. Imagine her deliberately giving him a more limited form of brainwashing as a cruel mercy. Allowing him to keep his memories mostly intact and be lucid enough to know that him and the others have been brainwashed. But feeling absolutely powerless and horrified when he finds himself acting on a post-hypnotic suggestion to carry out Junko's command to saw off his own arm for her amusement. Even worse, realizing as he stares down at his bleeding stump that on some level the misery and agony he's experiencing feels...right. That this is just how it's meant to be for him.
Also I kinda like the idea of it happening before her death, because it adds another layer to him taking her arm. Nagito feeling that he was owed an arm by her.
...Yeah, maybe I've been hanging around too many dark fanfic circles.
SEEEEE THIIIIIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUTTTT THESE WERE THE KINDS OF IDEAS WE COULDVE HAD GOING ONNNNNNNN ‼️‼️ the brainwashing plot has so much potential to be better there are so many directions to choose theres no reason to not go all out on the nightmare fuel this is danganronpa ‼️‼️

why i deleted the (original) jaxtherabbit blog:
the main reason was that the blog wasn't getting the attention it deserved. back when i started, the posts were getting 50+ notes, but as time passed the blog started to die slowly and every post was not even getting past 1 note. i think i started to notice a trend in loss of notes around about after the dyno arg? which is why i quickly created another arg. and a third arg. keep in mind these were rushed, they were literal defibrillators for the blog so it would stay relevant.
inevitably, the blog was forgotten about, even with desparate attempts such as drawing, hijacking / overriding soup's arg, and interaction bait.
the second reason was the jax ask blog clones. right off the bat, i already had a problem with the clones EXISTING as i have had someone impersonate me before (not a jax clone) and the impersonator left a bad mark on my reputation. so i was like, "nope, fuck this, i'm calling them out and blocking them before it gets out of control" but it felt like every second a new jax clone was created. it just was too much for me, i was overwhelmed with basically copied and pasted souless gimmicky slop. like, with literally any other character, there's at least 7 blogs to interact with. ok cool, i didn't mind that too, bring on the competition. but. there was fucking 25 at one point, i'm sure of it. some weren't even trying to hide the fact that they were a gimmick account.
and to those of you saying that i'm just jealous of other people's success, to that, i say "yes". i am jealous that despite me being the first tadc character blog ever, envy got the better of me and eventually i was too knee deep in getting angry at seeing others perform well that i just couldn't keep my composure.
i hope you understand and respect my decision, it was a tough one to make, and i thought about it for a really long time. i'm sorry if this news does not come to you on a good note.
on tumblr, i will be active on ONLY @putting-zooble-in-places
i will be active on the tadc tab discord: https://discord.gg/vg6cyxwywz
ps: @ciagent8 i give up on the january event, tell me everything /gen /srs
