Understanding Gender Is A Spectrum - TheConsciousLee

Well education is elevation, let’s turn this into a teachable lesson. I wanna start this by saying, I never hold it against people for being miseducated about gender and sexuality, I’m only irritated when people are dedicated to the miseducation of gender and sexuality. With that being said though, we recognize that the colonizer, the individuals who brought us over to turtle island, you feel me, they had a particular understanding of gender and sexuality. Well we recognize that, before European engagement, not only in Africa - Kemet, Alkebulan, whatever you wanna call it - we also can recognize, throughout the Americas, there were different constructs of gender. Hence why people say gender is a social construct.

What I’m talking about, you feel me, the ways in which gender is a spectrum, I’m acknowledging, you feel me, how - think about it - I was growing up in the nineties, there was a slur and incredible mythic narrative that, that, that literally - you feel me - surround this year. People called her a h/rmaphrodite. I know now that is a slur, people talking about her being intersex. When I recognize that we are so indoctrinated by heteronormativity, we are literally taught to believe these people do not exist. And when I say “these people”, I’m not trying to be offensive at all, I’m just acknowledging that there is particular systemic way in which how we are taught about sex in general - I’m gonna give you an example...

Education is elevation, and a lot of reasons why so many of us are lost in the sauce of masses’ understanding of gender constructs is because they’re able to do things like this to systematically control what we were being taught in the classrooms.

[Showing another article.] So when we talk about the Texas governor calling on citizens to report parents of transgendered as abuse, we recognize that there is a straight agenda that also involves cisgendered, or cis sexism, you see what I’m saying?

Just so we’re clear, when I say cisgender, this means you identify with the [gender] you are assigned at [birth]. Acknowledging not everybody identifies with the gender they were assigned to at birth. Shoutout to the intersex people that had existed since the beginning of this time, which also leads to this idea of gender being a spectrum.

A lot of folks say “it’s only two genders,” “it’s only an XY and an XX.” Well first of all, there’s a difference between sex and gender, but we recognize the terms of chromosomes, you know if you say you have two X chromosomes you’re automatically a woman, but what about if you have an XXY? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go to google, it’s your best friend, you can look up different chromosome combinations that proves that gender is a spectrum. As a matter of fact, most civilization before European engagement, before they were colonized by Europeans, had different understandings of gender and sexuality.

And you know what I’mma do? Make sure my daughter know about all this so she can’t get indoctrinated in the classroom when she know more than two genders, you feel me? Or, it’s a spectrum, you feel what I’m saying? Education is elevation, shoutout to you, dad duties call, doo dodo doo.
