Um. Holy shit.

I just finished Centaurworld and I'm crying like a baby. I don't think any of my followers watch it so I'm just gonna put everything out there.

God, the Elktaurs backstory was so tragic, and then learning that the human part of him trapped the elk part of him in a dungeon for 10 years???? The wedding between the Woman and the General while the Elk watched from afar and sang with them?? (also side note, there was one mlm couple and one wlw couple and my sister and I shouted "gay people!" I love the diversity this show has) I had a feeling, but when it was revealed that the General and the Elk were connected in a if-one-dies-the-other-dies way I knew the General was not going to kill the Nowhere King. And when Horse was trying to leave the Nowhere King's mind and the Elk turned into the fucking door to leave it was so sad.

AND WHEN RIDER GOT FUCKING STABBED????? OH MY GOD. HAND TO MOUTH I WAS SHOCKED. And Horse stayed there with her the entire time, even though they needed to kill the Nowhere King was so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. And when the Woman sang a version of the Nowhere King song with different lyrics that made it so terrible that this monster used to be the love of her life AND FINDING OUT THAT SHE WOULD HAVE LOVED HIM EVEN IF HE WAS A CENTAUR AND NOT A MAN GAHHHHHHHIDFHADFO. Going back up to Horse and Rider after that, I was already teary eyed, but when Rider was like "I'm glad we're together again, us against the world" and the went fucking limp I was crying so much I turned to my sister and was like "what the fuck". Fade to black and we're back in Centaurworld minus Horse and Rider and I was crying so much especially with the songs overlapping each other but yay! Riders alive!! I'm still crying!! Anyway.

9.5/10 show, the songs are amazing, the animation is amazing, the plot is amazing. Would (and probably will) watch again.

I thought it would be fun to try designing some coats of arms/heraldry for the Centaurworld characters! Here's the Mysterious Woman, the General, and the Nowhere King.

More thoughts on each below the read more-

Mysterious Woman: Probably the simplest, but I think that fits for royalty? Hers is split right down the middle to reflect unity and two halves. The yellow shape is actually the head of the Key in spear/staff form! Happy coincidence that it looks kind of like a lily or fleur de lis to me!

The General: I think the General would probably fight under the Mysterious Woman's banner and use her existing coat of arms, because he was a nobody before marrying in? I also think appropriating royal symbols would lend him authority, but I wanted to design something for him anyway.

If he did want his own crest (or perhaps a logo for his army?), I'm not sure if I could see him incorporating elk or deer in any way... On one hand, I don't think he'd want any reminders or association with his true nature/past. But I could also see him egotistically liking something that reflects the narrative he's crafted in his mind, symbolizing what he views as triumphing over the lesser part of himself.

The Nowhere King: He gets two because I couldn't decide which vibe I liked more. Especially in AU contexts, I tend to imagine the Nowhere King leaning into the 'King' part of his title and styling himself as a ruler over the minotaurs- viewing them as his subjects and trying to create a place where they can belong, legitimizing their 'kingdom'. A flag featuring their kind would make sense to me, but I also really liked the idea of a crest featuring his antlers, because they're so distinctive. I think the green leaves would only feature in a more peaceful AU.

Watched all of Centaurworld while recovering from having emergency appendix removal, and honestly the show was weird enough that I had to google characters after I was off pain meds to make sure the show wasn't a product of said pain meds.

But I loved the show, and the villain was fantastic. 10/10

Coming back slowly to posting art, so how about starting with Kid!MW and Kid!Elkatur? What kind of adventures they goes to? In my AU, Elktaur name is Brian (homage to the voice actors) and Mysterious Woman / MW is Daylisay, or "Day" for short.
