It hits different when you realise that Neteyam wanted to go home...
Tumblr media
...That his last words would probably have been "Dad, I'm sorry."
Tumblr media
...That he did, in fact, get to go home... to the forest; to his childhood where he was carefree, and felt his father was proud of him...
It still hurts so bad that we lost him. But he is in his happy place now. 🥺Perhaps there is peace in that for us.
RIP Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan - Mighty warrior and the best big brother ever. 😭

Pairing: Aonung x  Omatikaya Reader (aka Jake’s second eldest daughter)
Summary: You’re the daughter of Jake Sully and Neytiri, and when your family moved to the Metkayina Clan, you met a rude Na’vi boy. But as time passes, will this hatred for him grow into something else?
Theme: fluff, angst-mostly debating with one another, challenge.
Word count: 4094
Warning: Expect some English errors, as English is not my first language.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
You already expect that the Tsahik won’t welcome you like Tonowari himself, after your family landed on the shore, feeling the sand on your feet and wanting to stretch after a long flight.
Your gaze was drawn to your father, who was now walking toward the Metkayina Na'vi people, both hands raised.
"Little sis, right here,"
When you heard your brother call out for you, you didn't waste time and walked toward Neteyam, quietly ruffling Lo'ak's hair as he grumbledly brushed your hand away.
Chuckling at his reaction, you wanted to continue teasing him, but when two Na’vi boys come out of the crowd, your eyes can’t help but dart back and forth at them. while your big brother Neteyam and little brother Lo’ak greeted them.
You followed suit but hearing this Na’vi boy that wasn’t even a minute he started making fun of Neteyam’s tail. You snarled at him before stopping when your mother called.
"Y/N" Neytiri is eyeing you to behave, but even if she’s scolding you, she has a hint of a smile.
"I’m cool," You said reassuring them that you won’t launch at them eyeing your father who also eyed you and once he return his gaze in front, you and your brothers gazed at the upcoming Na’vi girl.
Upon seeing her, you won’t lie; she’s beautiful. Your eyes then caught Lo’ak form whose attention is still on the Na’vi girl, you leaned toward him, whispering.
"Little bro, did someone already get your attention?" You smirk, then chuckle as he moves you away from him.
Followed by Neteyam, who gave you a knowing eye to which you simply returned; Lo’ak watching this could only sigh. grumbling as to why he has two idiot siblings.
Still, he greets her, "Hey"
Smirking as Lo’ak has the guts to greet her, Proud at the same time that your little brother has the confidence. as your eyes were about to look at your father again and the upcoming chief.
You caught the tall Metkayina Na’vi boy who was looking at you and giving you a smiling smirk. to which you simply rolled your eyes.
"I guess Lo’ak isn’t the only one."
"Oh, shut up," you whispered, punching Neteyam playfully.
When you saw the chief land on the water next to your family, you immediately wanted what he had just ridden at. When Kiri and Lo'ak saw your desire-filled eyes, they could only shake their heads and sigh at their older sister.
As your father gestured, "I see you," to the chief, you followed suit. It wasn’t that long before the Tsahik was already making her way toward where your family is.
"I see you, Ronal," Jake said. And again, you followed.
"Why do you come to us, Jake Sully?" Tonowari asks
"We seek Uturu."
"Uturu?"
"Yes, a shelter for my family," Jake replied to Ronal, who began to walk her way toward where your mother was holding her now tail, seemingly checking them.
As Jake was busy talking to the chief, here you are focused on the Tsahik who grabbed Tuk’s forearm. Noting how your kind has a thin arm, she moves toward Kiri and grabs her tail.
"The tails are weak,"
Kiri then grabs her tail back, expressing how the Tsahik grabs it roughly. "You’ll be slow in the water," she continued, and once her eyes landed on Kiri’s hand, she continued to grab her.
Showing it to the Metkayina clan, "These children are not even true Na’vi."
"Dad," Kiri whispered, looking at Jake, and once her eyes landed on yours, Kiri didn’t have to say your name as you moved toward her, moving her away from the Tsahik.
"Yes, we are!" You exclaimed as you reclaimed Kiri's hand.
Ronal first looks at you and then moves toward Lo'ak, showing his hand as well. "They have demon blood!" Once she let out those words, everyone gasped, and some snarled at them. You simply snarled back, but didn't as Kiri looked at you, urging you not to.
"Look, look." Watching your dad show his hand to her, you can’t help but glance at your own, which only has four fingers, unlike Kiri and Lo’ak. As Jake explained the reason why your family have it.
"We will adapt, okay?" Once he said those words, your mother walked forward, telling them how your dad is Toruk Makto. Once she let those words out, he didn’t hide his cringe face.
Telling them that Jake led them to victory against the sky people.
"This called victory? Hiding among strangers? It seems Eywa has turned her back on you, chosen one" When Ronal let those sentences out, you finally got what they meant when they said that you are like your mother, as she hissed at the Tsahik.
"I apologize for my mate; she’s come a long way, and she’s very exhausted." While Jake apologizes and Neytiri tries to stop him, here you are shushing Tuk and saying that everything will be all right.
As the chief introduced your father to the clan to the point that they agreed to let your family stay, it still stings your pride when he says, "So they would be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our way so that they do not suffer the shame of being "useless."
"What do we say?" Hearing your dad, you inhale, first swallowing your pride. before thanking them.
"My son Ao’nung and daughter Tsireya will show your children what to do."
"Father why-"
"It is decided" Tonowari cut his words before he could decline, and just like you. He too swallows some of his pride and once his eyes landed on yours. You simply return his smile.
"Come, I will show you our village." As Tsireya moves forward, helping with the other item, you follow behind Kiri, who wears an annoyed expression.
"I think it won’t be that bad." You said as you two are on your way to your new home. "Or not," once you saw where you will be staying, and just like your mother’s expression of exhaustion, you also held one.
Hearing a snickering from behind you, you already suspected who they were, and when you are about to reach for your bow, Lo’ak stops you, giving you a look at how it’s not worth it.
"Just checking if it’s still there, little bro." You lied while smiling at him, which he didn’t believe.
Tsireya is the kindest Na’vi you have ever met, as she showed you the village and what they eat and use to hunt. You learned new things, and by new things, you also learned to maintain yourself before you decided to launch yourself at her brother, who keeps laughing from the background.
"Do you hear that, big bro? I hear a sound of beating."
"You can continue listening to that when we go home."
"Then I won’t hear it any more."
Neteyam chuckled, ruffling your hair, followed by Lo'ak, who chuckled but kept his eyes on someone; Kiri rolled her eyes at her three siblings. Soon after that, it was already evening, and dad called for a family meeting.
"Kiri"
"What?" Kiri grumbles as Neytiri scolds her again to listen. Neytiri didn’t have to say anything once she eyed you; you already got the message.
"This will be quick," you said, reassuring her.
"Okay, I need you kids in your best behavior, and am talking about you Y/N"
"Me? Why me- yes sir." you sigh agreeing as he was giving you a look.
"And mean it, learn fast," Jake sighed. "Don’t cause trouble," he said, then glanced at Lo’ak. "Got it?"
"Yes sir."
Neteyam chuckled. His hands are now on both your napes, playfully teasing you two. while you and Lo’ak hissed at him.
"I want to go home." Seeing Tuk crying, broke your heart.
"Tuk, this is our home now... We’re gonna get through this. And when we do this if we have each other’s back, right?"
"What does your father always say?" Neytiri asked, glancing at her children.
"Sully, stick together." You and Neteyam said it loudly, while Lo’ak just mumbled it, as for Kiri, who didn’t even say it.
You eyed at her to which she rolled her eyes… "Sully, stick together." Kiri mumbled that only she heard it.
"Kiri…" you mumble.
"That’s right Sully’s stick together… But this time with some feelings"
"Sully's stick together."
The family decided to rest for the evening at the end of the day, after repeating the quote with some emotion, because you and your siblings will be taking some lessons tomorrow.
While you laid next to Tuk, cuddling her for the night, you couldn’t help but whisper something to Kiri.
"I know this is a different place than our last home... but please cooperate; dad and mom are more exhausted than us."
Kiri rolled her eyes, turning her back away from you and mumbling how she knew as you always repeated it to her.
"Yet you never listen... sorry, I come to strong on that. Just tomorrow, show them that you listen. Good night, Kiri; you too, Tuk. I know your awake, as well as everyone." You chuckled when they flinched at your words.
Nonetheless, following your speech for Kiri, Jake and Neytiri already knew from the beginning that you will be a good Tsahik one day, even though you have a little bit attitude that you still need to work, but who can blame you? You got it from your mom.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"Ladies first."
You smiled at Ao’nung. Today is the day they will teach you their way, and the first lesson is to calm your nerves.
You then gestured your palm at the ocean and said, "No, after you. Ladies first, right?" and seeing his glaring eyes, you're already satisfied. Not only do your siblings laugh at your remark, but so does his friend, who stopped talking when he snarled at them.
As him, Rotxo and Tsireya jump on the water followed by your two brothers. You joined Kiri and Tuk. Once you opened your eyes, you didn’t hide your amazement when you saw the surroundings.
It was beautiful and pretty at the same time. Feeling a nag from your side, it snaps you from daydreaming and causes you to glance at Neteyam, who then gestures for you to follow them.
When you were about to follow them, your eyes glanced toward where Kiri was, but seeing that she was swimming away, you let her be for now.
In one word, they were fast, and you hate to admit it, but they’re faster than you. You are known for your speed and agility, but they simply beat you at the ocean. with just that it opened your challenge page.
Though you got the hang of the breathing technique and your three siblings had to go up to breathe at the same time, you only shrugged your shoulders at Tsireya, who was asking.
On the next part your siblings swim to the surface again. While you swam next to Tsireya, Ao'nung did something to his hand that you didn't understand, so you looked at Tsireya and asked what he meant.
She simply smiled at you and gestured for you to go up. You first made a quick glance at Ao’nung, gesturing your hand to your eyes and telling him that if he says something bad, he will regret it.
In a simple gesture, the "I'm watching you"
Ao'nung couldn't help but laugh when he saw it, and he then signed to Rotxo, -She may be annoying, but she's good at holding her breath.-
-I know, she didn’t even went up… also what those she mean by that?-  Rotxo repeated what you did a minute ago.
-Isn't it obvious? She’s eyeing at me-
-Does that mean she's into you?-
-Maybe-
As you and Tsireya are now on the surface, her asking if they’re alright
"Your to fast, wait for us." Tuk started rubbing the water away from her eyes.
"Sorry Tuk, you know big sister doesn’t like someone going faster than her." You swim toward her, whispering this sentence.
It's a good thing that Tsireya didn’t hear you. "Just breathe, like Y/N did."
When you were about to thank her, taking it as a compliment, Ao’nung came to view, saying, "You are not good divers. Might be good at swinging through the trees, but-" It was a good thing that Tsireya did it before you could.
When she smacked his head.
"Come on bro" Lo’ak said followed by Neteyam who then showed his four finger "We don’t speak this finger… We don’t know what you're saying."
"I will teach you," Tsireya said.
"But doesn’t your sister already know it?" Ao’nung then eyed you, to which you looked at him confused, and he repeated the thing you did.
Neteyam and Lo'ak look at you, exhaustion visible in their eyes. They already knew what you meant. "What? I’m simply warning him." You shrugged, glaring at Ao’nung.
In return, he simply smirked at you, repeating the gesture once again.
‘This fish face’  you thought, gritting your teeth and smirking as well, ‘if that’s what you want’
---
"This are Ilu; if you want to live here, you have to ride." Ao’nung after calling the Ilu, but you're looking for the other one.
Raising your hand "Ah, aren’t we going to ride the other one?" And when they laughed at what you just said, you gave them a confused look.
"You are not prepared for that yet; even we don’t have one. and I don’t think you can get one."
That’s where Ao’nung was wrong, and even if the brothers and Tuk were gesturing for him to stop talking, they would only sigh once he let out those words.
Ao’nung, Tsireya and Rotxo looks at their confuse, defeated look.
"Why? What is wrong?" Tsireya asked Lo'ak, who simply pointed at you.
"Is that a challenge?" You were smirking at him, and for some reason that smirk gave different feedback to Ao’nung, but he simply smirked as well.
"If you think it that way, sure."
"Alright, brothers, and Tuk, you know what will happen." You turned to face them, who simply sighed, knowing where this would lead and how they needed to make an excuse.
You then turned to face Ao’nung again. "and you. I’m excited to see your surprised look once I get one. The first Omatikaya to get one... well, next to my dad."
As you said those words, you immediately mounted the Ilu, swimming away from them, wanting to find one as soon as possible. If you were still there, you could see their surprise at how you handled and rode the Ilu.
That quick.
Ao’nung glanced at the brothers.
"You asked for it, and yeah... better prepare." Neteyam said mounting his Ilu as well, following you behind noting to Lo’ak and Tuk to take care of the excuse.
Lo'ak, who only looks at Tuk "Why is it always me?" she grumbled, knowing that in the end she would make up an excuse.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Finding one wasn't as hard as you thought, but getting one isn't as hard as well, as it automatically charges at you, which you dodge.
And when you jump on top of it, they immediately move away from you.
You repeated the action, and unlike your Ikran, with whom you didn't have to fight as much, this creature captured your energy, and you like it.
Neteyam was on the sidelines watching it from afar, hoping for you to stop it before the Tsurak did something he doesn't want to think about, but knowing how stubborn you are. He simply hopes that this will be over.
And he's prepared if something bad happens.
With the final charge of the Tsurak, you immediately dodge it again while at the same time punching it with the rock you picked up, wanting to make it dizzy, and as soon as you hit it, you immediately made your bond with it.
While Neteyam was cheering from the distance, here you are swimming with it right away. If you have to score how you like it, you really love it because it has the speed that you want.
Riding one is like riding an Ikran, but in water. If you rate it on difficulty, the Tsurak is no match for your mother's fury.
Once you rise from the surface, the Tsurak doesn’t wait long and opens its wings, and as you dive again, wanting to show itself to Ao’nung and its friend.
The chief, along with some members of the clan, has their eyes set on you when you rise from the sky, and oh boy, their eyes were about to jump out of their sockets. What's more, Jake, who’s also the same, is gritting his teeth as you disobey him again.
Still, he was proud, as you’re the first to ever ride one.
kind of crushed his pride for a second,
Back to where Lo’ak and Tuk where, while Tuk was busy feeding her Ilu.
Lo’ak was still struggling, but he was getting there.
As for Ao’nung and his friend who keeps making fun of Lo’ak when all of the sudden an Tsurak come to out of nowhere, startling them to the point that they stumble down and watching them get away.
"That was worth it!" you exclaimed, bringing your Tsurak down and gently patting it.
Lo’ak and Tuk wore a proud smile. And the others looked amazed; Your smirking face soon turned to dread when you saw your father approaching.
You immediately look at Lo’ak and Tuk, eyeing them, and ask for their help, to which they simply avert their eyes.
'You traitors!'
When you saw Jake approaching, you went down and pushed the Tsurak away, who expressed his sadness that you were already rejecting him.
"No, you just need to hide. If Dad sees you, he won’t let me see you again." You were grateful that it understood you, and once you turned around,
"Hey dad! Didn’t see you, haha... How was the lesson? Fuck"
Outside the Chief house stand Neteyam, Tuk, Lo’ak and Kiri who then asks what was happening and when she learned what you did. She couldn’t help but chuckle.
Only to shut her mouth as her siblings are eyeing her to be quiet, they got startled when they heard a booming sound from inside the chief house.
"You know what you did is dangerous, right? Why did you mount one?" Tonowari asks.
You first glanced at Ao'nung, and instead of saying the truth, "When I first saw it, in my mind. All I could think of was to mount one... I’m sorry-"
"And you will! You could have died because of your fantasy!"
"I apologize for my daughter's behavior. I would take it from here."
You apologize again, and as soon as you went out, you got dragged by your father, followed by your siblings and mother.
What you didn’t know nor did your parents know is that, back at the chief's house, the leader and Tsahik were talking to their children about this event, and instead of scolding them, they told them a story about how their mother Ronal did it as well.
And how Tonowari fell in love with their mother.
While Tsireya saw it as cute, Ao’nung rolled his eyes, but now that they mention it... and when he saw you showing him the Tsurak, he couldn’t help but smile.
---
It was a painful scolding. more painful when you accidentally shot a Na’vi with your arrow, thankfully it’s not a real one.
While your siblings are giving you a sympathetic look and Neytiri is wearing a proud smile, showing it how "this is my daughter, the first to mount one at that age!"
Your dad on the other side was furious. "Didn’t I tell you to behave? Yet you disobey my orders!" He then called Neteyam, asking where he was and, as a big brother, yada yada.
You got sick of it and stood up to leave. And when Jake was about to call you Neytiri, stop him.
"My Jake leave her for a bit she already got told to."
"She needs to learn... but I'm proud of her for doing that." Neytiri smiled when Jake said this, pushing the kids out before they got scolded.
Right now, you're at the rock side admiring the calm water and quietly wiping your tears away, and when you saw your brother Neteyam, you quickly looked away.
"If you’re here to bring me back-"
"No, I won’t… That was pretty rowdy back there. Huh?" Hearing his chuckling made your feelings worse. You then looked at him, and when he saw your tears streaming down your face,
"I’m not angry because I was scolded; I’m angry because Dad always blames it on you... and yet, you just laugh it away."
"What is wrong with you?" you said, wiping your tears.
Neteyam understood immediately what you meant; he then turned to face the sea and said, "I'm the oldest... I need to look out for my siblings, like dad and mom do."
"But getting scolded because you didn’t do your duty right? Isn’t that unfair? It’s not even your fault; to be fair, it’s mine. But it always finds it way to you" You then took the rock that was lying next to you and used it to throw your anger away by throwing it at the water.
"I see your point… but that's just the way life is."
"No, it’s not! We have a choice." You then got to your feet and walked away from him. Neteyam could only sigh, concluding that it was best to leave you alone.
Ao'nung was listening with concern on the other side of the rock from where You and Neteyam were. At first, he was out looking for you, and when he saw you sitting alone on top of the rock, he planned to talk to you, but then Neteyam appeared.
He quickly hid, and when you walked away, he quietly followed you.
"Stop following me, or I might punch you in the face-" only for your fist to stop mid-air, thinking that the one who was following you was Neteyam.
But when you saw Ao’nung raising his hand, you didn’t dare hide your annoyed look.
"What?" You firmly say, "If you’re here to make fun of me, do it right away-"
"I’m not here for that."
"Then what?"
"Join me first, then I tell you."
You rolled your eyes and pursed your lips only to sigh as you didn’t have the energy to fight him, and seeing that he didn’t plan to play some prank on you, you agreed.
"So why are we swimming? You could just tell me on the shore."
"It’s more fun this way."
"I’m out," you said, trying to swim back, only for Ao’nung to stop you when he held your hand.
"Okay, I will tell," he first exhaled, "when you left, mother and father were proud."
"Proud? Are you playing with me? Do you know the difference of proud to angry?" you said obviously fed up.
Ao'nung, who was also tired, rolled his eyes and said, "Yes, I know." And they’re both proud as no one has ever did that before except Mother" seeing that your not letting out another remark he continued.
"Just like you, she also tamed a Tsurak. You opened up a memory of them… If you were there, your ears would bleed as they kept talking about how they met and fell in love with each other"
You raised your hand, chuckling as you said, "Don’t continue; I think I know what you mean. Dad and mom fell in love after mom tried to kill him."
Ao’nung gave you a surprise look, and you chuckled at it. "Yeah it is surprising but to us we got used to it."
"Thank you... that made me feel better in some ways."
Ao’nung smiled and said, "Don’t mention it."
"Also… I still have my eye on you if you do something that is not to my liking. I will surprise you again." Smiling at him as you said that, you swam away as your siblings were now looking for you.
As for Ao'nung, heat started rising from his cheeks, but he soon smiled, and upon calling his Ilu out, he quickly made his way in front of you, who was then holding his hand out in front.
"Then, surprise me again, and I will too."
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Is the ending to your liking? If not, that's okay.

I'll come back for you ~ Neteyam Sully
Tumblr media
Pairing: Neyetam x Reader
Warnings: Death
Plot: Neteyam had promised reader that he would come back for her one day. The day comes where the reader learns that his promise to her has been broken.
....
“I won’t be away forever. One day I’ll come back for you.” Those were the last words spoken to you by the love of your life. Neteyam.
Months had passed since his family had to leave the forest because a man was after his father. You couldn’t go with him because your mother was growing weak and couldn’t care for herself anymore. You loved Neteyam but you couldn’t leave your mother. He understood and promised to come back to make you his mate.
Everyday he was gone you dreamed of the day he would come back, what you would say to him. You dreamed of your future together.
You were in the forest taking a stroll when you heard the screech of an ikran above you. You see part of the rider of the ikran and your heart begins to sing. Your intended mate has returned. Your Neteyam is back. You smile as you wave to the rider on the ikran. It lands a bit further ahead which causes you to run towards it. The Na’Vi who had there back to you sighed before turning around. When you were able to take in the features of them better you realized it wasn’t the love of your life. It was his brother Lo’ak. You give him a small smile in greeting.
“I see you Lo’ak. Where is your brother? Was he so excited to see me again that he couldn’t come see me first?” You teased me. Lo’ak was a great friend to you growing up and even helped you get with his brother who was too shy initially even to approach you.
You noticed something was off. Lo’ak wasn’t smiling. Usually he would have some witty sarcastic comeback but there was nothing coming from him. He looked sad. That's when you knew something wasn’t right. After all this time Neteyam would have definitely wanted to see you first. You were certain of that. Yet he wasn’t here.
“Y/N, Neteyam–”, he cut himself off. He closed his mouth as the air seemed to be heavy, making it hard to form a proper sentence.
“There was an accident. He was trying to save Spider and I from sky demons and he–,”Lo’ak took a deep breath as his eyes began to fill with tears.
He didn’t even need to finish his sentence. In your heart you knew. Your bestfriend. The love of your life was gone. The fact alone was like a weight crushing you as your heart broke. You would never hear his voice, laugh, or be able to ever look into his eyes ever again. He was gone and he was never coming back.
..

Home (NeteyamxOC) (part 2)
Warning: English is not my first language. I apologise for incorrect grammars.
P.S. There was someone who wanted to be added on the taglist and I just want to apologize because i don't know how😭 I'm new to this app.
Neteyam's POV
There was something bothering me about that 'dangerous' forest these Metkayinan people were warning me about. Dad have strictly warned us to listen despite the temptation and I'm trying my very best to stop my siblings most especially, my brother Lo'ak from disobeying that order. We've brought enough shame to the family.
But I always find my self staring at that forest. Missing our former home, yes, but there's more.
Until one day, when I was riding my Ilu alone, I saw a small figure standing from there. At first, I couldn't believe what I saw, but then, it started to become clear. It's a sky person.
It's a female. Unlike those sky people that I've known for years who wear clear glasses of mask that cover their whole face to breathe, this one is wearing a black mask that only covers her nose and mouth. The only feature I could see is her eyes. Staring at the sea, examining something.
She didn't see me but she left and vanished between the trees.
I knew I had to follow her and do something. What exactly? Honestly, I don't know. I was too drown with curiosity.
Then next things happened so fast and I just found myself in pain and slowly fainting to the ground.
---
The first thing that I felt was my soul being forcefully dragged back to life and I had to open my eyes in shock and cough so many times. After being internally tortured, pain in my chest started occurring because of my sudden action.
"Aghh-" crisis started and I don't know whether to continue coughing to relieve my inernals or to stop to put an end for the pain in my chest.
But in the end, I decided to calm down. My eyes were shut trying to feel my whole, body.
After few minutes, I finally calmed down and memories started to come back. I opened my eyes only to see that I'm curled in a small white bed with a mask on my face.
What's crazier is a sky person standing in front of my bed staring down at me, in disgust.
"You." I uttered when I saw the last woman I've been with before I've been knocked down.
Unlike before, she's not wearing her black mask so I could see her face now. She looks young, like spider, and It's very odd for me because I've never seen a young female sky person person before. But that's my least concern for now.
"Me what?" she asked sarcastically.
"What happened to me?" I check my self and found white cloth wrapped around my chest where the wounds were.
"You almost saw your God. But you survived..." she walked back to go to a table where I guess the medicines were placed. "...unfortunately." she continued.
"Why? I don't understand. I was just bruised by an animal but I lost my consciousness. And it's not even that deep."
She turned to look at me with an angry expression pasted on her face. "Yea, that's why I told your stupid ass to get the fuck out, because this place is not for outsiders. Those venomous animals smelled you and attacked you. You could have died, which in my dismay you did not. Now you're in my place and I don't know why I even healed you." she burst out, shook her head as she turned around again to clean the mess on the table.
I looked down. "Thank you for saving me."
Her body stopped from doing anything and looked at me in disbelief.
"Okay, umm, I'll just go home. I need to get home before eclipse." I looked for any windows inside her small place but found nothing.
"It had passed. You've been out for about 15 hours and sun is about to rise." She explained which shocked me.
"What?!" I burst out. Mom and Dad's gonna kill me. "I really need to go." even with pain in my chest I got up and was ready to run when something hard on my wrist stopped me from running away.
"What the.." I looked at my hand and saw a round metal connected to a chain glued to the wall. "What's this? Take this out, I need to go." I tried to break it but it didn't bulge a bit.
A sarcastic smirk played on her face. "And risk my place? No."
Anger occupied my head. "You need to let me out of here. I'm not telling about your place, I promise. Please. They may be looking for me now, furious, and I'm telling you, they will not stop."
"What? Am I supposed to believe you and let you out?"
"I'm telling you, by not letting me out immediately, you're risking your place even more." I was hesitant to say anything further, but I was eager to be freed. "My father, he's a warrior. He was the Olo'eyktan of my former clan and he's not gonna stop until he finds me. And I'm sure that they're targeting this place maybe not now but soon enough. And I'm warning you, he would kill you. THEY would kill you if they found that your specie lives here. He's toruk makto."
With my last sentence, her eyebrows raise. "Shit. You're Jake Sully's son?"
I was not shocked that she knows my father so I nod. "Yes. And you don't want to experience his wrath."
But she didn't seem to hear what I said. Suddenly, she laughed. Laugh that sounds amused and challenged. "I can't believe it. I kidnapped his son. But I don't get it. You don't look like him. You look... stupid."
I rolled my eyes and try to maintain my temper. "I'm not stupid." I whispered doing my best not to oppose her insult. "I'm a warrior like him. And once I get out from here, you wouldn't like it."
She laughed. "Warrior? Yea. You almost got killed by a wild animal in a 2 second battle."
I gritted my teeth in annoyance and in embarrassment. "It was a surprised attack and I have no weapon."
"You expect your enemy to schedule a fight for you to prepare?"
I was taken aback by her statement. I was speechless.
When she noticed that I wasn't able to answer back, she a sky people's cloth with long sleeves and put it on her. "I don't care who your parents are. You're staying here where I know you wouldn't spill about my place." she said walking away.
"Wait, where are you going? Let me out of here! What am I supposed to do here? You can't use me for anything."
She laughed as if it was the dumbest thing she have ever heard. "I know that fact. And I'm still thinking what to do with you. Probably starve you to death? I don't know and I don't care. Plus, I'm not actually really fond of 9ft tall blue cats so who knows?" she said as she wore her black mask then opened the door and walked outside.
"Hey! Hey!" I shouted trying to call her but she never returned.
Cats?? What's that?

[WARNING: ATWOW SPOILERS] My Take On Neteyam Sully’s Character
Hey y’all can we discuss something? Am I the only one who’s favorite character in Avatar 2: The Way of Water is Neteyam?
The first time I watched the movie in theaters I was hyper fixated on Loak (obviously, just as JC wanted). At first, Loak was my favorite character because I understood his internal conflict and I mean, he was the Sully kid that was very relatable and stood out to me the most.
The second time I watched it, I decided to pay more attention to the other details and characters in the movie and that was when I actually started paying more attention to Neteyam. After my second viewing, I would have to say that Neteyam became my favorite character in ATWOW. I know a lot of people question why many people like Neteyam since "he didn't get enough dialogue or screen time" or he "wasn't as developed as the other characters." Well, I don't see it that way. Yes, his character is all about being the responsible older brother who is the perfect soldier and always takes care of his siblings, but if you really stop and pay attention to him, he's actually a deep and well-developed character. He does have more of a "subtle characterization" compared to his other siblings though, but that doesn't make him any less of a good, fleshed out, and deeply moving character. After paying more attention to his dialogue, mannerisms, and actions, I came to love and relate to his character even more.
Neteyam is the first born child. His parents are the great warrior Toruk Makto and the great huntress Neytiri who led the Omaticaya clan against the sky people. Of course, he's going to want to live up to the clan and his parents' expectations. The pressure to be a great future leader and warrior like his father was already put onto him at a very young age. He was constantly training alongside his father because it was expected that he would be the next Olo'eyktan and on top of that, he had 3 trouble-maker younger siblings that he needed to look out for and to take care of. Neteyam literally had to grow up and mature early compared to the rest of his siblings. That's why we don't see him interact and play with his other siblings that much in the movie because he is the older sibling and has to put his duties first before fun. He worked so hard to work his way up within the clan and to please his parents. He worked so hard to then have it all stripped away when his family had to flee to take refuge within the Metkayina clan.
If you pay close attention to Neteyam in the scene where the Sully family greets the Metkayina clan for the first time, you'll see Neteyam's Omaticaya cummerband around his waist (an indication that he's completed his coming of age ceremony and is now considered an adult within the Omaticaya clan). After they assimilate within the Metkayina, we don't see him with his cummerband on anymore because he is no longer associated with the Omaticaya. In order to respect the Metkayina's traditions and ways, he was forced to abandon his Omaticaya cummerband.
If you pay close attention to his songcord beads (Neteyam's necklace/trinket Neytiri was praying with at the beginning and at the end of the movie), you can see that the first half of his beads looked completely different from the second half. That is because the first half was when Neteyam was with the Omaticaya and the second half was when he was with the Metkayina. His beads turned into shells - indicating the big transition to Metkayina life. Neteyam completed both his Iknimaya and Dream Hunt ceremonies within the Omaticaya and if you really think about it, imagine the sorrow he felt when he had to let go of all his past achievements within the Omaticaya clan and start anew with the Metkayina traditions and ways.
In the scene where Loak runs off to warn Payakan about the Tulkun hunters, he tells Neteyam that Payakan is his brother and not him. You can see how this statement hurts Neteyam as he loves his brother and always has his back. Neteyam always takes the blame for Loak because he loves his brother that much. I don't know if anyone noticed or felt the same way about this, but when I saw Neteyam's face at that moment, I swear he was frustrated and done with being called "the perfect soldier" by Loak. This is what his whole family and clan always thought of him. The pain in his face as Loak says this, you can tell that Neteyam didn't want to be viewed as "perfect" anymore. It really looked like it bothered him and he was so done with people viewing him as "perfect."
Throughout the movie, we see Neteyam always saving his siblings' asses. He also saves Neytiri from being shot at the beginning of the movie. He literally takes the bullet for Loak at the end of the movie. He was always there. He always made sure that everyone around him was happy and comfortable. He always made sure that his family was safe. He was always caring. He was always there to support. He always did what was told of him. He never complained. He always put his family's needs and wants before his. He never said what he really wanted to say.....until the very end when he knew he was dying - "I want to go home." He finally revealed his true thoughts and feelings to his family. This was the first time throughout the whole movie where we hear what he really wants. He held it in, stayed strong, so that his parents and the rest of his siblings wouldn't worry. He remained positive even though it was eating him out from the inside.
When I saw Neteyam interact with his siblings throughout the movie, he really felt like an adult compared to the rest of them. However, when we see Jake holding him as he's dying, it really hit me that he was still a 15 year old boy (he isn't even that far in age from Loak and Kiri). A mere child who had to carry this heavy weight and responsibility on his shoulders for so long. He was still too young to be holding all that pressure. The pressure to be a good future leader, a mighty soldier, a good and responsible older brother, a positive light and rock for his siblings, and a protector to all. He really cared for his family deeply. He really did put his family's needs and wants before his own. I know a lot of people who are the eldest sibling can relate to his character.
After realizing all of this, this was when Neteyam became my favorite character in ATWOW and made his death even more tragic. After rewatching and paying really close attention to his character, he had so much more depth, personality, meaning, and emotion than what people thought of him to be. He was more than just "the responsible perfect older brother and soldier that didn't have a deep story arc compared to his siblings."
And what gets me the most is that, towards the end when he is dying and says to his family that he wants to go home, they didn't even take him home. His funeral was held within the Metkayina clan and his body was laid to rest in the ocean, not in the forest. I understand that bringing his body back to the Omaticaya would have been too dangerous and risky, but damn.... that's all he really wanted. Literally, that was his dying wish. However, it does give me comfort that at least, he returned home spiritually as we see him in the forest when Jake and Neytiri visit his spirit through the Metkayina spirit tree (cause you know, every living thing on Pandora is connected through Eywa and it technically doesn't really matter where a person is laid to rest as you can access their memories through any spirit tree).
Neteyam was always saving everyone, but no one was there to save him. He really deserved better.
So for those of you who wonder why some people adore Neteyam so much, this would be my answer.

Thoughts on The Way of Water
Aight I needed a day to process my emotions because HOLY SHIT what a great film. Like it was visually stunning as expected, but also I think the worldbuilding/plot ratio was perfect, and honestly I think the story this time was better than the original (not that I think Avatar’s storyline was bad, but this one was definitely more unique). Anyways, rambly thoughts incoming, and also major spoilers so stop here if you don’t want to read any of those.
The entire sequence of the Sky People returning was hands down the most horrifying thing I’ve seen in a film. I’ve seen a lot of gory shit, people being vaporised in The Day After, more slasher films than you can count... none of that made me sick to my stomach like this. Such a huge area of forest, full of life one moment and melted into slag in an instant. How many animals died a gruesome death in there? How many people? And we’ve seen what became of Earth, and know this is just a fraction of the destruction the Sky People can bring. I knew I was gonna have to strap in for quite a ride from this moment.
I really only have two complaints with this film. First off, it felt like Neytiri was kind of shoved to the side for the first two thirds of it. Like I get it, Jake is the Designated Protagonist and all that, but Neytiri is the one most affected by having to leave her people, and I don’t think we really got to see her process it much. She will very likely never see her clan again, her mother, the place where her ancestors lived and died. And we get like... five minutes of her being upset over it before she’s really not there until the final battle. I would have liked to see more of her processing her grief before she’s finally come to terms with staying in the end.
(And that’s not even mentioning how heartbreaking this must be for Mo’at... she’s literally lost her entire family to the Sky People.)
My other, more nitpicky gripe is why do the Metkayina seem to only speak English?? Like yeah on a practical level it’s a lot easier on everyone if most of the dialogue is in English, and I’m willing to suspend disbelief on where the hell they learned English in the first place. But none of the other reef clans spoke any English at all, and it doesn’t make sense that the Metkayina would use English when speaking among themselves. Hell, I think fucking Quaritch used more Na’vi than any of them did. I think it would have made a lot more sense to have at least the introduction to the Metkayina and the Tulkun return scenes in Na’vi.
Anyways away from the negative stuff. Can we talk about the symbolism in Eytukan’s bow breaking?? It really brings home the fact that Jake and Neytiri’s family are never going back to the Omaticaya, and this is probably what makes Neytiri realise it too. The bow was the last thing she had of her father, and likely the last physical tie she had to her clan, and now it’s gone.
While I know the Sky People are far from done trying to colonise Pandora, I’m optimistic that their efforts have been thoroughly fucked for now. The tulkun brain goo stuff that was funding literally everything is gone now (unless they build another demon ship I suppose but that costs money that they don’t have now). Also, I think Quaritch is a pretty defanged threat at this point. He looked... pretty not okay from losing Spider, and he’s now all alone and weaponless. Doubt the military is going to help him this time too. He has lost miserably to the Na’vi twice now, gotten a lot of their own guys killed and cost them a lot of money. They’re not gonna look on him too kindly methinks.
Speaking of Quaritch, canon be damned I say Spider was an in-vitro baby. I refuse to believe anyone slept with that son of a bitch.
NETEYAM NOOOO
Anyways I have other thoughts but this is already very long and becoming less coherent lol.

AVATAR: TWOW SPOILERS!
You know the scene where neteyam and lo'ak are arguing? neteyam holds his forehead and goes “why do you always have to make things so hard” and lo'ak says “you mean why can't I be the perfect son like you” and soon as he says that neteyam is mad and shuts his lips TIGHT, and after that he steps towards him with his lips sealed, I know it could just be a frustrated expression but na'vi tend to hiss at people when are mad to show hostility, and neteyam likely shut his lips tight because he didn't want to hiss at his brother (cause obvs, he loves his lil bro) even though HE WAS FUMING.
Like I could be wrong BUT LIKE THINK ABOUT IT OK AND THAT MAKES EVERYTHING SADDER.

Home (NeteyamxOC) (part 1)
Warning: English is not my first language. I apologise for incorrect grammars.
Summary: Enid, a teenage human who have lived alone ever since her parents were killed by the Na'vi people when she was 8 years old living in a forest near the Awa’atlu village. She was on her own and solving the biggest mystery in her home when an Omaticaya boy, Neteyam, bugged her life.
“Who are you?” I asked bravely after watching the Omaticayan na’vi entered my territory inside the nearest forest of the Awa’atlu village. No Metkayinan ever entered that forest because they know nothing of that kind of place and they were never fond of lands.
I was facing behind him with a bow aiming at him. He could feel that weapon even from far away so he did not dare to move. “You’re one of the sky people.” He announced, quite certain.
“I said, who are you?” I repeated, this time I was more intense and eager at releasing the poisonous arrow across his head.
He slowly raised his hands on his head and carefully turned to see me, in return, I grasped my arrow tightly, ready to shoot at any moment. "I'm Neteyam."
"Go back. You can't be here."
"This is a forest, I'm an Omaticayan, this is my home."
My eyebrows arched in annoyance. "Well, not this one. Go back or this arrow will go through your skull." I moved forward unhesitatingly to show him that I'm not afraid of doing what I said. He stepped back, fear on his face.
"Look, I just miss my home, okay?" he started explaining as he lowered his hands. "I've been in the ocean for too long and I just want to somehow enjoy the home I used to call. They told me this place is very dangerous and I've been ordered to never come here. But I want to see myself."
I studied him and when I confirmed that he's just a mindless na'vi, I drew back my bow and hung it behind my back. "You should have listened to them. This is no place for any Na'vi."
Confusion flustered on his face. "Then why do you live here? This world is even more dangerous for you"
Suddenly, a rasp sound occured somewhere behind the trees. I got tensed and kept a keen eye around me, forgetting about the na'vi in front of me.
Neteyam chuckled at my reaction. "It's probably just some wild harmless animal. If you live in this forest, you should now."
I ignored him and focused on the rasping sound nearly coming to our place. "Skawng" I hissed.
He was about to protest again and probably insult more when the sound became louder and nearer, his ears twitched. Suddenly, fear crossed his face as if the sound wasn't familiar.
I started locating the sound. Even though I'm a human, I've developed and practice my hearing to become sharp. Because I've been all alone in my life, I had to train myself to adapt and be wary of this dangerous world, for me at least.
The rasping stopped. But I knew that something terrible is gonna happen. And with a blink of an eye, two black angry forest animal came to attack the both of us. They were almost as big as the Na'vi in front of me.
While the animal was still on the air when it jumped, I released my arrow and it hit its arm. It fell down to the ground but didn't affect it, rather, it became angrier, growling, and charging at me. When it started running again towards me, I readied my bow and aimed straight at its head until it fell down and died.
On the other hand, since Neteyam was unprepared and weaponless, the animal almost knocked him down but he blocked it and threw it with all his strength against a tree. Unfortunately, he got scratch on his chest. He hissed in pain.
Neteyam was about to prepare himself from the next attack of the animal but he suddenly lost balance of himself and almost fell down.
"Shit." i murmured when I saw the wound on his bare chest with two scratches directly from the claw of the animal.
I didn't waste any second and before the animal even make its move, I prepared my bow and hit it right through its head which immediately died.
"You stupid fuck." I said then run to the na'vi. He was bleeding, but it's not the mere wound I was worrying about.
"It's fine, it's just some scratch." He said with a faint smile but his face is starting to get pale. "I can just go home and... and." he didn't finish his statement because he fell down to the ground, very unconscious and ill.
