Lazy Day
Mirabel scratches the back of her head as she walks along the garden behind Casita. The day has been pretty lack luster, no chores to do, no errands to run. She helped her mama clean the kitchen, but that only lasted ten minutes. Now she is simply wandering around, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful array of flowers that the garden holds. She stops suddenly when lumps of dark blue and bright orange laying in the grass catch her eye. Laying down on the ground, their limbs spread out, are Isabela and Antonio. They don’t seem to be talking, just staring up at the sky in silence. Mirabel quirks an eyebrow and hurries over to them. As she approaches, they do nothing to acknowledge her presence.
“What are you two doing?” Mirabel asks, crossing her arms slightly with an expression of curious amusement. Both Antonio and Isabela have blank and almost slack expressions. Their eyes are barely open as they stare at the sky, blinking slowly when necessary.
“Laying.” Isabela response in a monotone voice. Antonio gives a “mhm” of agreement. Mirabel realizes that Isabela’s pet milk snake, Lotus, is wrapped around Isabela’s arm. Lotus seems to be doing the same thing as Antonio and Isabela as he hugs onto his master’s arm, his eyes slowly blinking.
“Okay... why are you three laying?” Mirabel continues, getting slightly more intrigued. If there is something going on, she wants to be a part of it. Isabela raises her arm that Lotus is hugged to.
“It was his idea.” Antonio answers, pointing at the snake and talking in a similar monotone drawl that mimics Isabela’s. Having given an answer, Isabela lowers her arm and returns to her still state. Antonio continues. “We are basking in the sun.”
“Why?” Mirabel questions further.
“It is a lazy day, and thus we must capture the sun’s warmth for our cold-blooded bodies.” Isabela answers.
“Isa, you’re not a cold-blooded creature you don’t need to-”
“Shhhhhh... we don’t question things on a lazy day Mira.” Isabela holds up a finger and then slowly drops it. Her eyes slowly shut, and she gently pats the ground next to her. “Join us.” Mirabel stares at them, a small smile curling onto her lips.
“Why are you talking all monotone?”
“Lotus says on lazy days we don’t change volume, too much energy.” Antonio answers. Lotus sticks out his tongue slowly to confirm Antonio’s words. Mirabel hums to herself. She isn’t doing anything, and it is a lovely day. Why not? She’ll just lay here with them for a few minutes. She plops herself on the ground, taking off her glasses and spreading out her limbs like Isabela and Antonio. A few seconds go by and she realizes that it actually feels quite nice. Maybe the snake is on to something?
3 hours later
Alma walks into the living room, her eyes scan the room but finds no one. She has looked through the entire house and hasn’t found a single member of her family. Where are they? She heard Julieta and Agustin talking about where Isabela and Mirabel might’ve gone, but that was thirty-five minutes ago. Then Pepa was wondering where Antonio and Felix went. Alma hasn’t seen Camilo at all in the last hour. Even Luisa hasn’t been in the house. And where are Dolores and Bruno?
Huffing in defeat, she turns around and decides to check outside. As she walks through the garden, the sun in the sky is at its peak and its warm rays are kissing the earth. She blinks in confusion when she notices a large pile of bodies laying on the ground and staring up at the sky. She walks closer and sees her entire family lazily staring at the clouds with their limbs spread out.
“What is going on?” Alma asks, trying to hide her giggles. She is met with a chorus of shushing from her family.
“Abuela, it’s a lazy day.” Mirabel answers in a monotone voice.
“Join us mama, it is actually quite nice.” Pepa interjects in a similar tone to Mirabel. Alma raises an eyebrow but shrugs and giggles. Who would she be if she didn’t join in? She can’t be the only person not having a lazy day. She walks over to where Julieta, Pepa, and Bruno are laying and slowly lowers herself onto the ground. As she lays down and looks up at the sky, feeling the warm sun on her face, she questions why she never did this before. It’s actually very nice. Bruno, Camilo, and Luisa quickly fall asleep, their gentle snores fill the open air. Alma smiles to herself. What a lovely, lazy day.
-----------------------------------------------------
Take another short drabble from my drafts! Idk why I never posted this one lol I wrote it when I did the post about what animals I think the Madrigal’s would have. I love the idea of Isabela having a tight bond with her snake and therefore goes to Antonio to ask him what Lotus wants to do lol And thus the Madrigal sun bathing lazy day was created.

anders' writing is so insufferable because it's the writers who did it but it still doesn't feel in character somehow. like some of it feels fine obviously but that's precisely the problem. it's contradictory in just the right ways to make sure every character gets to be reactionary about something

Know I can’t exactly expect people to be beholden to Merrill’s skintone in DAO, given she was a minor character in the Mahariel Origin only before she got whitewashed for DA2, but man does it turn me off a lot of art.

FENRIS THOUGHTS:
"Fasta Vass, Hawke!" That's Tevene.
"Fenhedis, Hawke!" That's Elvhen. How much Elvhen is peppered into the speech of Tevinter elves??
ALSO. The lyrium. So.
Dwarves do not dream/cannot be mages, because of generational repeated exposure to lyrium—though this barrier can be broken, as we have seen in-game. Does Fenris dream? The tranquil are branded with lyrium, and do not think of their lives before. Fenris uses the words "burned" and "searing" in reference to the markings, and has to work to regain memories of before.
His sister being a mage is WILDLY interesting to me beCAUSE, in my mind, there is no way an elven mage in Tevinter holds the status of a mage. They Must hold the status of an elf?? But you don't get to have this conversation with him, because the game refuses to let Anders and Fenris have a middle ground where they agree on something (Magisters oppress because they are nobles, the elves are oppressed because they are victims of colonialism. Magic or its absence are secondary.)
By act 3, I am certain as soon as slavers aren't on his trail anymore, templars are. He can explain as much as he likes that he's not an apostate, but also can't technically prove to them that he isn't. This surely infuriates him. So if nothing else, he likely joins Hawke against Meredith because templars suck.
I also think there is no way that Isabela's "I think everyone should be free" didn't strike a chord with him. Really I love Isabela/Fenris so much like I genuinely think they just WORK. BASICALLY I just think if he hated Anders or Merrill like for Real he wouldn't hang out with them all the time. Also his girlfriend likes them and he doesn't wanna have beef with his girlfriend.

Isabela Madrigal, Heights and Vine Symbolism
Before “What Else Can I Do?”, Isabela is repeatedly positioned higher than Mirabel. She appears on the landing when they’re preparing the birthday party in a dramatic entrance and later rolls her eyes at Mirabel’s claims of the cracks from up there too, while Mirabel is on the ground floor both times. During the argument she drags Mirabel flat on the floor and stands tall over her. Heck, her bed is even on a raised platform with stairs leading up to it.
Tumblr media
This shows the imbalances between them of others and especially Alma’s regard, their privilege and implicitly inherent worth. Everyone looks up to Isabela… and she looks down her nose at Mirabel. We sympathize more with Mirabel in these scenes, her feeling to herself and us not just a helpless victim of her sister’s pride, but more reasonable and, well, down-to-earth.
Flowering vine swings in particular symbolize this idea. Her bed, as seen there, is attached to vines strong enough to lift and swing it. Based on how she lowers it when Mirabel first enters her room, I infer that she pulls it up into the enclosing curtains (said by the creative team to represent how she feels trapped) to retreat even further from the world when she’s upset, hiding her messy, ‘bad’ negative emotions out of anyone’s sight and earshot. Besides the bed being a big swing, she’s suspended from vines in the “Did somebody say flowers?” moment; in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” complete with a spotlight, her vision seemingly the only desirable one foretelling her happiness and prosperity; and in promotional art designed to effectively present her pre-story character, suggesting it’s in-universe something she does often and is known for. Her trademark as “Señorita Perfecta Isabela”.
Tumblr media
This demonstrates her skill, strength and precision with her gift, and does a lot to serve her perfect image - and Mirabel’s perception that she’s spoiled and has had everything handed to her. It’s an efficient method of transportation that no ordinary person could use. A glamorous, elevated vehicle reserved for a specific individual and allowing them to sit connotes privilege and superiority, like litters. Her being seated, the vines descending from somewhere unseen rather than us watching her grow them from scratch, their smooth, fluid movement and her not visibly exerting herself in the slightest make her command look totally effortless. It’s easy to forget that she’s controlling the vines at all instead of getting (more) cosmic help. And look at her gorgeous hair and dress as they swish and flow with the elegant motion! Look at the flowers she didn’t need to add, but did, because all that she touches is beautiful to behold! Lovely Isabela, an angel deigning to visit Earth from the heavens. Perfect Isabela, too good to take the stairs like a normal person. What a vain fucking showoff.
Tumblr media
In the early part of “WECID” when Mirabel isn’t actively listening to her, she uses vines again. Yet it feels different. She sits on another swing to travel to the location of the verse where she explicitly describes the monotony, oppressiveness and exhaustion of always growing the same perfect flowers and always keeping up a shallow facade. “I grow rows and rows of roses/Fleur de mayo, by the mile/I make perfect, practiced poses”. Oh. It does take effort. It takes energy and time and thought, enough to leave her drained of enthusiasm for life itself. She’s been silently giving her whole self away all these years. Furthering the revelation that using her gift, at least in this way, is actually taxing, she then manipulates the vines to swing her bed not ‘effortlessly’ through her magic but with her arms and weight like a normal person. The movement is a defiant, forceful pull, as if straining against restraints or seizing her personal autonomy. The only time we’ve seen force anything like that from her before is…
Tumblr media
emphatically ripping a flower off her own vine while ranting about how the arranged proposal she was going to accept, her ultimate sacrifice in the name of her family, has been ruined.
Now we realize: to Mirabel, the vines’ symbolism is that Isabela is better than her. To Isabela, they’re puppet strings. She doesn’t look in control of them because she isn’t in control of her life, merely a pretty doll Alma moves around, pressured to be passively pulled wherever the supposed needs of “the family” demand. A precarious position that she must constantly work to keep her balance in, lest she irrevocably, unforgivably fall from grace. She literally uses vines as a barrier between her and Mirabel. To try to remove the ‘imperfection’ of Mirabel from her room. They are tools of restriction, division and imposing your will on someone else.
But during “What Else Can I Do?” she thinks of ascension and heights positively. She wants to “climb”, to “rise” right “through the roof, to the skies”, and reflects this by rising on a growing palm tree and going up to the roof, jumping and riding plants higher than she’s ever been before. What changes?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Instead of hanging, she’s standing on her own two feet. On the foundations of her family home and plants she constructs for herself. When she does swing from vines, like when leaping off the roof and later racing to save the candle, she grips them unsupported Tarzan-style, which feels much more active and independent. She even rides on thicker, sturdier moving vines! She initially leaves Mirabel behind to climb after her, Isabela caught up in the rush of discovering and experimenting with freedom of expression and Mirabel still seeing her as a means to the end of protecting the miracle and family (hey, like Alma does… it’s as if they’re foils or something!). But by the bridge they’re both on top of the palm tree.
They’re both on top of the palm tree because Isabela helps Mirabel up. She wants to share her real self with her, for her to be part of this. This is the first moment when she directly addresses Mirabel and asks for her opinion: doesn’t she want freedom and authenticity too? Mirabel is inspired to really listen to her sister, reevaluate her assumptions about her and process the new side of her she’s seeing. Her conclusion - “All I know are the blossoms you grow/But it’s awesome to see how you rise” - is that she likes, loves, even admires the true Isabela and wants to understand and see more of her, no doubt wishing that they’d had this conversation sooner. She chooses to embrace and support her. Isabela sinks to her knees and Mirabel in response sits down next to her, so even their standing height difference is eliminated.
Tumblr media
They finally see eye to eye. They rise together.
Tumblr media
After that, they stay on the same level throughout the rest of the movie.
Tumblr media
The toxic imbalances of power, autonomy and perceived value are gone. They’re equals and respect each other accordingly. At the end of the song, Isabela lets herself fall into a cushioning pile of her new, vibrant flowers, safe in the knowledge that she can catch herself.

So, I've become deeply obsessed with the Touchstarved demo lately, like one does when something is awesome and fun. For the moment, Leander is my LI of choice, which is kind of unusual for me because I usually go hard for those tsunderes like Mhin, but Leander and his bodacious bosom really caught my eye, and now here we are. Spoilers ahead!
As the most 'normal,' and therefore most suspicious of the bunch, I've seen a lot of discourse on what his monstrous side may be. I love it all, the speculation is creative and wonderful, and so inspiring I've decided to add my little hot takes to the conversation.
I think underneath all that blushing charm, Leander is an asshole. I've seen a lot of thoughts on the choice to not take his hand, but personally, I think he's fucking with the MC the whole time. I don't think he's affected by their curse at all. I think he's purposefully being a jerk for his own amusement. Vere calls him, "a pathetic, slimy little man child in big, shiny shoes," and I think this moment perfectly illustrates Vere's point. When things seem too good to be true, they often are, right?
Along with that, he's a total slut, which is fine, I'm not shaming or anything, it's just a fact, so while his fliration is really sexy, it's also hollow. The man keeps a side room ready at all times for his liaisons, which says to me that he never takes these people back to his own, private quarters. It's easy to conclude that he's intentionally keeping these encounters purely sexual – fun for the moment, but only for that moment. No one gets close. Gotta wonder why. But, "that's the problem with flowers. They don’t last long, but they leave an impression, right?" And Vere once again brings the point home when he wonders if Leander has "already snuck off to get his knob slobbered out back," implying this is something he frequently does.
He's definitely got the jealousy factor going on too, though I don’t know if that's across the board or just strictly for Ais. I'm currently undecided. This could also be where his "throbbing victim complex" comes in, but then again, maybe not.
This is purely my own speculation, but I can see him turning out to be a betrayer character, à la Isabela in DA2. I think no matter how much he may blush, he'll sell the MC out in a hot minute if it's in his best interest to do so – or if he's compromised in some way. We all have our secrets after all. Of course, like Isabela, if he likes the MC enough, I believe he'll regret it and try to make amends, but until it dawns upon him to do so, the MC is going to be shit out of luck and probably in a world of trouble.
Anyway, these are just the thoughts and theories rolling around in my head. Whatever he turns out to be, I'm sure it will be both horrifying and awesome, and I'm here for it. I can't wait for the game to come out. I'm super excited to play it! 💚

SO. That Star Rail 2.1 story, huh?
Come for weird shenanigans in Dreamscape Disneyland run by Space Mormons, stay for ... shit, why am I crying this hard over someone whose face is THAT punchable?
A few comments below, spoilers ahoy!
They've clearly decided that they're going to hide the important characters that they want to have mystery around/big reveals for in the 4 star characters. Which honestly is brilliant because the leakers mostly don't give a shit about the 4 stars, they're too busy digging up every last morsel of info on whoever the latest big titty 5 star waifu is to bother. (Said with love for the characters themselves, just ... truth.)
I did have an inkling that something was up with Gallagher back in the 2.0 story when the other Hounds seemed not to know him that well, and knew for sure something was sus when the ones in this patch didn't recognize his name when he was standing right there. But I did NOT go as far as to expect Hot Vengeful Murderer. Holy shit.
That having been said, thanks to drip marketing, we know that at least some (one) of the victims are not entirely dead, and a big deal has been made about the nature of death in dreams, so my current theory is that he's less full murdering people than he is somehow waking them up or sending them to some other portion of the dream. We will see!
In other husbando news, Aventurine is the most meow meow to ever meow and I would die for his smarmy pitiful wet cat in a designer suit ass. Someone on Discord said that this is his EN VA's first voiceover role and if that's true he has a fucking brilliant career ahead of him because he fucking killed all of that. It takes talent to maintain that level of "you want to punch me and then hug me and then punch me again through the tears" throughout that much spotlight time.
And speaking of VAs, Allegra Clark. That's it, that's the comment. Allegra Clark. Just imagine a ton of sparkly animated hearts here. I feel so, like, seventh-hand proud of her after first encountering her as an Isabela cosplayer on my Tumblr dashboard back in the Dragon Age days.
(The EN VAs are killing it in Penacony - like, this is a level up for sure.)
I'm glad I've been diving into HI3 lore because it made the conversation between Acheron and Welt so much more meaningful. I'd be curious to hear from someone who has no idea about HI3, though - I think the weight of the connection would have come through regardless, but it'd be interesting to hear what someone thought.
I'd been spoiled about the Firefly-Sam connection a long, long time ago - thanks leakers, I've mostly flyswatted you on YouTube now, but for fuck's sake - but I'm super curious to actually hear about how that works and how they fit in with the Stellaron Hunters.
There's just ... so much. SO MUCH. EVERYTHING HAPPENED SO MUCH. EVERYTHING.

just saw someone say the entire madrigal family was more evil than SCAR. like please let’s use our brains here, scar purposely wanted to murder his brother so he could take the throne. He tried killing his nephew MULTIPLE TIMES and had not an ounce of remorse. Most of the madrigals were dismissive at best and condescending (alma, isabela) at worst. Also it’s important to mention that alma in particular doesn’t know how badly she’s damaging her family because NOBODY TOLD HER HOW THEY FELT. like even when she’s being condescending to mirabel, mirabel herself fakes a smile she never says anything. It’s only after the house collapses and they have a heart to heart that alma realizes how badly her trauma has misconstrued her views. She always wanted to PROTECT her family but was stuck in a bad mindset. so like let’s not compare the victim of generational trauma to a literal murderer because one thing about alma is she would never do that to her kids.

“Farmers need an urgent and concrete response from the government. Farmers need immediate aid, cash assistance, rice subsidies, and other short-term and long-term relief and rehabilitation efforts,” Ronnie Manalo, secretary general of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), said in a statement.
The El Niño affects 29,409 farmers and fisherfolk and 26,731 hectares of crops nationwide. “The total damage of El Niño in the country’s agriculture sector has reached almost P2 billion ($35.6B). Instead of help and assistance, the government offers credit and promises to the farmers and fisherfolks,” KMP said.
On March 19, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francis Tiu-Laurel said the agency would provide P379.06 million worth of assistance to farmers and fisherfolks affected by El Niño.
KMP Isabela and Bicol chapter reported that assistance from the government is poor. This is based on an impact assessment on El Niño in CALABARZON region conducted by volunteers.
Peasant women’s group AMIHAN emphasized the insufficient financial assistance for farmers who only received P3,000 ($53.41) to P5,000 ($89.02) despite high production cost of palay.
“The DA’s deception that they were addressing the effects and impact of El Niño adds to the neverending woes and suffering of farmers,” KMP said.
Cathy Estavillo, general secretary of Amihan, said that “The government’s move is essentially a deception because the farmers who already have heavy losses will be buried again in debt.”
“Based on social justice, the compensation for the farmers and fisherfolk is climate justice. It is not the first El Niño, but the government has repeatedly neglected agriculture and farmers. It becomes worse to the fact that the government is the initiator of the climate crisis in the country due to the expansion of land-use conversion, plantation, mining, logging, reclamation, and other activities that result in ecological imbalance. What the victims of El Niño need now is justice, not loans, and not insufficient financial assistance,” said Estavillo.

Luisa Madrigal headcanons because it was her birthday recently
Luisa Madrigal, random headcanons
!english isn’t my first language, so there can be some grammar mistakes that I am sorry for in advance!
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Isabela does her hair and picks out her outfits
often forgets about her strength when hugging someone, there have been cases of broken ribs
Julieta never really got used to that her little girl isn’t so little anymore and still treats Luisa like she’s a kid by giving her the most embarrassing smooches on the cheek and cleaning her face when after dinner
would practice controlling her gift by learning how to play piano as she had to be careful not to ruin the instrument, her dad was a big help here
zones out a lot
sometimes rants to the donkeys, genuinely feels that they can understand her
it takes her a moment to get the joke
gets really, really, really flustered around the person she has a crush on
always the victim of “right, Luisa?” when her sisters fight, never knows which one to back up
one time threw Camilo into the wall, it was an accident, but Camilo keeps his distance from her since then
gives Antonio piggy back rides
doesn’t hesitate to tell someone they have something on their face or between their teeth
obliviously straightforward
took her a lot longer to learn how to read than other kids
managed to pick Isabela up on the older girl’s gift ceremony even though she hasn’t gotten her gift yet, guess it was always in the cards
Mirabel made her a stuffed donkey at some point
knows ballet, she learned it as a kid
skips the last step when walking down the stairs
will play with a ballon like it’s volley ball
always fails for the “did you know if your hand is bigger than your face you have cancer?” trick
MASTERLIST
happy birthday Luisa! <3

hello there! I have a hypothetical question, hopefully it hadn't already been asked, heh.
In the Decay and LTRL AUs, early on in the stories, Luisa shoves Isabela away from Mirabel and injures her on the back, although thankfully not severely. BUT! My question is, what do you think would have happened if Luisa had accidentally broken Isabela's back?
Tumblr media
*Peeking out of my den*
Hi!
ooh that's a good question. I think... it depends on how severely damaged Isabela's back was; was it only the bone damaged or was the cord also affected??
Either way, a fresh wound like that would still be treatable by Julieta; so the chances were that the damage would be fixed by either one. the bones heal straight away. The cord may take a few days with Julieta's food to heal. Julieta got there pretty quickly to help Mirabel, so she would be there quick to cater to Isa's damaged back.
Isabela would be healed physically.
Mentally, she would get given a bucket load of trauma for it. Ultimately, she would be scared of Luisa just as Mirabel is scared of Isabela (less so, in comparison as what Luisa did was sudden and unexpected; not slow going or as targeted as what Isa did to Mirabel.).
She'd have recurring nightmares of the incident, including the vivid lingering sensation of not feeling her lower body (if the cord was damaged)--this could have reawoken some bed-wetting as a sort of psychological response when the lack of feeling spikes in those instances.
Isa would avoid Luisa like the plague, or if they were forced to be in the same room, stay away or the furthest seat possible. She'd be...hyperfocused on Luisa's movements to ensure she wasn't gonna get tossed.
Luisa may not...get into as much trouble bc she was saving Mirabel. Luisa would be guilty about harming someone, even her own sister, regardless of justification. The fact Isa would be so weary of her is also not a good feeling for Luisa. She's upset about it, but...she'd get annoyed by it as well after a few months of it. Luisa's still very much in the middle of both sides of the frustration of knowing she wasn't gonna hurt Isa again and empathy of why Isa's so weary of her.
The adults... how they react would also vary.
Alma would be upset but relieved that no one was killed. At most, she'd insist Luisa stop her chores in town until she made sure not to use her gift with any sense of underestimation; she sees that there was a lack of control that could have easily killed and could have easily crippled someone. This could have easily dug Luisa's insecurities far faster to the rest of the family about her gift.
Bruno would probably be the same as in the original, distant but would try to be supportive of the family either way
Pepa would be...upset but would stay out of the mess to avoid the emotional whiplash that getting involved would entail, but, she could do her best to try and care for her nieces. She may actually gravitate to Luisa given the girl holds so much in emotionally; she could see more and try to get her to let it out.
Felix would be a very in-the-mess sort of guy. He would visit Isabela if she had to heal for longer; make sure she was okay and all. He'd check in with Mirabel as well, same reasons then he's check in with Luisa and make sure she was okay. He'd also help with Pepa when it came to getting Luisa to talk. Very non-judgemental which helps.
Julieta would be.... devastated at the hurt all of her children had done to each other. None of them would want to be in the same room together out of fear and trauma which tears her side of the family apart and she'd burn out far quicker and struggle to balance herself. She'd depend more on Alma for order and control of the situation. Seeing Isa both a victim and a perpetrator is hard and seeing her struggle with instances of trauma (like the bedwetting) would be very difficult. Trying to sooth Mirabel as well--she'd probably be less involved with Luisa in comparison to her other two daughters.
Agustin would be...a champion to keep his all daughter's morale up. He's checking in with all of them and probably would get Isabela moved to his parent's house sooner for the sake of sanity of everyone involved. He'd defo try better to get Julieta away from the alcohol as well once he realises. He'd defo be the support for Luisa that she needs in her immediate family. He wouldn't be weary or scared of her.
Dolores would...probably be the same as in the original stories; Luisa saved Mirabel, and just happened to Isabela get hurt as well. She'd probably help Isa more in dealing with some of her new trauma responses more privately to spare Isa humiliation of it.
Camilo would be much more of a prick. He'd probably be glad Luisa got 'pay back' for Isa harming Mirabel and would certainly and unintentionally make Luisa feel guilty with his praise on the matter. That said, he'd probably keep Anotnio away from Luisa for a few weeks, not that the two interacted much beforehand. But he'd definitely be glad that Isa got hurt. If he found out about Isa's bed-wetting, he'd defo would mock the girl for it (until Pepa told him off for it)
Antonio, the little bean would be... well he's five and not sure what to think but all he sees is his family fighting between themselves so he's much quieter and withdrawn; trying to be with his sister, and parents or would probably stay around Mirabel and Bruno much more as well. he has little opinion about Luisa's actions; he knows she saved his favourite person.
Mirabel would be the most...conflicted person out of everyone if Isabela got a broken back out of it. She'd be both scared of Isa and also worried for her. She certainly didn't want her to get hurt and doesn't think a broken spine was justified, even in the heat of the moment but... it happened. Her family is even more broken up and she'd probably internalise a lot of what Luisa did to Isa onto herself for being the catalyst for Isa to snap to start with. She would be weary of Luisa but not scared of her either, not like how she'd be scared of Isa. Mirabel defo would need therarpy, like the rest of the family to handle this.
lol, turns out I had a lot to say lol, i do like AU discussions :) if you have any more questions, feel free to drop them in. If they're good or enough, it could inspire me to carry on with the nest LTRL AU Chap?????

I don't think Camilo helping Pepa is such a big deal, she was visibly having a panic attack.
Also I think her behavior is caused by Alma's abuse, don't get me wrong she done some shitty things, but considering the fact that her mother was forcing her to be constantly happy from when she was five years old while not letting her feel other emotions caused her not to grew up emotionaly, what isn't something you can learn yourself, you need adult to teach you how to deal with your emotions in healthy way and Alma turned her daughter into a wreck which is snapping at others and lack control of her emotions, because her own mother never learned her how. Her anger at Mira was slightly justified as it truly looked like she was trying to sabotage Antonio's ceremony and proposal.
The things like anger at Bruno and Camilo calming her down are caused by the fact that her mother was scolding her for feeling angry or panicking because villagers wouldn't be happy of the weather, even when she is 50!
While this doesn't excuse her completly it is still hard not to understand why she is like that.
While Bruno was black sheep when they were adults what was confirmed by creator as Bruno at first was Encanto favorite so this strongly imply that Pepa was first scapegoat and victim of her mother's abuse.
Also Agustin and Julieta aren't as good parents as many think they gave her eldest daughter away and had no problem when Alma turned her into her trophy child(what is one of the worst things you can do to child), don't seem too close with her middle child, having no problem with her being overworked, the only child they seem to be truly close to is Mira.
I do have to disagree regarding your points about Pepa, for the most part.
Yes, you're absolutely right about Pepa's emotional instability being caused by Alma. 100% agree.
However, that doesn't excuse her from gossiping about Bruno, and for snapping and being mean to Mirabel.
No, Pepa's anger at Mira wasn't justified in my opinion. That woman was being mean to a child she was never there for, a child who was only trying to help in both Antonio’s ceremony and Isa’s proposal (which was Dolores’ fault, not Mira’s). If Pepa thought Mira was ruining both events (which she clearly didn’t), than she hadn’t right to get angry at a child.
Camilo shouldn't have to comfort and take care of his own mother when it should be the other way around. Yes, I often bring my parents their tea, but I don't I don't comfort them like you do with a toddler. It also doesn't help that we barely see Pepa be an actual mother.
Yes, Bruno made a joke he shouldn't have made because it was Pepa's wedding, and was in the right to be pissed in the moment, but not gossip about it for 21+ years like a mean girl! That woman is 50!
Where did you get the information that Bruno was Alma's favorite at some point? Because I don't think that was the case when Bruno was having (negative) visions at 5 years old as well. Can you give me a source?
I 100% agree that Julieta and Agustín weren't good parents either. They let Mirabel sleep in the nursery even at 15 years old, Julieta left Mirabel right after a house almost killed her for whatever bullshit Pepa called her for, and She and Gus didn't believe Mira when she talked about the cracks. Their relationship with Isabela was never even addressed in the film, which I find extremely weird.
Thank you for giving me your opinion. I'll answer your second ask later, but I hope we're still good :)

Random Drabble of Isabela and Mirabel? Random Drabble of Isabela and Mirabel.
All those perfect poses came in handy, didn’t they, beauty?
“You know… I think I finally get you.”
Mirabel looked up from where she was sitting with her knitting. Isabela was sat on the other sofa, she had been calling someone (she’s assuming it was Diane) and complaining over something, but it didn’t sound like she was still on the phone. Mirabel couldn’t quite see from her angle in the living room.
“Don’t get me wrong, I still love the film and shit, but having no control over how your story is told, even when it is inaccurate, and how your identity is used, fucking sucks.” Isabela took a breath, it sounded broken. Near tears.
She’d say something but she doesn’t have her voice at the moment, so she can’t offer any verbal comfort.
Nor does she know what exactly to say.
Isabela hasn’t shown any sadness to her - in this life or the last. Of course, her sister is naturally going to be capable of such emotions but they are never really seen or talked about. Maybe to Dolores, but not her. It’s rare to see such vulnerability on her sister. Not even Luisa guards herself so strongly - she’ll cry in public over someone wasting coffee with no hesitation, nevermind anything that triggers the painful memories of the past.
Mirabel herself is the usual victim of such triggers. The scars on her neck itch under her chocker in a painful reminder of that.
But, physically, Isabela can be triggered by things. Mirabel has seen that. The strong smell of chlorine in a water park will have her sister spilling her guts into the toilet between each slide or diving board. And she’s always fine. Comes out with a smile, not a single hair out of place and is already eagerly tugging them towards the next thing that peaks her interest.
Isabela lifts her head in the moment, briefly. Mirabel can clearly see the mascara or eyeliner or whatever is on her eyes is starting to run, leaving dark streaks in their wake.
Her sister sniffles. She rubs a palm across one cheek and the back of her hand over the other - she gets most of it off, but smudges the rest. Not that she would know and it’s not like Mirabel can tell her.
“Anyways,” she says, trying to sound happy as she pulls herself to her feet. “Keep on suing those bitches at Disney. I wanna buy myself a hot tub.”
