i’m a bit too hungover to fully articulate this the way i want to but
there’s something about camila dragging billy to that party where he’s immediately offered alcohol because she’s never truly seen his addiction for what it is vs daisy staying in his tour bus with him because she understands that they’re fighting the same struggle
there’s something about camila not really having any clue why billy needs daisy so much to the point where she has to ask if daisy’s a better lover than her vs daisy inherently understanding why billy had to choose his family despite never having a family of her own
there’s something about camila never intervening in the billy/eddie conflict in all those years vs daisy showing up and immediately telling billy that aurora needed to be eddie’s project too
there’s something about billy writing the same songs over and over with camila vs daisy forcing him out of his songwriting comfort zone leading to him writing the most personal and beautiful songs of his career
something something daisy allowed him to be the truest version of himself while camila let him hide behind the idealized version something something billy ultimately chose camila because he wanted to be the man that she saw instead of the complicated mess that daisy understood him to be

Something something Nendo being immune to mind reading is related to him being the only one from the friend group who is honest about their feelings

I sort of like the thought that Zuko and Aang take the Sun Warriors' warning not to tell anyone about the dragons a little more seriously… and they keep it between them. Of course, they trust Sokka, Toph and Katara. Of course they know they wouldn’t tell anyone, but now three people (including Iroh) know the truth about Ran and Shaw. And that’s three too many when you’re trying to keep a secret.
(and there are other people at the temple as well - like Haru, Teo and The Duke - who, while trustworthy, aren’t as close to them as the others, and when it comes to secrets with as much consequence as this one, you can’t afford to take any chances.)
Furthermore, the culture within the Fire Nation since Sozin’s rein has been warped. The culture is not to respect the dragons as the original firebenders, it’s to conquer and kill them. It’s the ultimate proof of your strength as a firebender. All it takes is one mistake before rumour spreads, and people go looking for the ultimate hunt. It’s not something Zuko or Aang can risk.
Whether Katara, Toph and Sokka (and Suki) ever find out the truth is up to you. But post-war, after Zuko returns from a strange, poorly explained trip with a dragon, and eventually develops the ability to use rainbow fire, either the others have some questions about Aang’s knowing look, or they are finally let in on a monumental secret.

I wanna know what kind of personality nova has when talking to friends vs in private bc theyre a very silly creature to me :3
With friends (assuming they've already become friends), they tend to be rather bubbly and extroverted, just like their mom was. He's always trying to get his friends to feel happy, laugh, and have fun! (Usually as a manipulative tactic, unfortunately)
By themselves, she is very devious--happily imagining the ways to ruin everyone's days. They revel in feeling like a supervillain. She also lets out any anger or annoyance that has built up during the day.

Me: "There is a problem in this fandom where we have people who will talk at length about the injustice the Gerudo and Ganondorf face but their in real life politics seem to reflect the opposite. The entire point of criticizing the Gerudo and Hyrule is to help people recognize the stereotypes that have been used on real people to demonize them, and how those stereotypes are leveraged by media in the pursuit of simplifying the recognition of who is evil and who is good. For example, it seems really strange that someone who talks about these issues shows themselves to be a Zionist, because it seems like the idea of injustice and revolution is only something that is fun to explore in fiction but is otherwise reprehensible in real circumstances."
The Zionist in Question, who vagued about the genocide like once: "UH ACKCHUALLY JOE BIDEN SUCKS BECAUSE HE CAN'T COME OUT AND SAY GENOCIDE IS BAD? I ACKCHUALLY VOTED REPUBLICAN BECAUSE MY REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVE HAD BETTER POLICIES AND IM LOSING FAITH IN JOE? I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THE MUSLIMS WHO DON'T WANT TO VOTE FOR HIM BECAUSE WHILE THE MUSLIMS IN MY AREA WOULD GET SOOOOOO MUCH HELP IN TERMS OF FINANCING THEIR SCHOOLS AND THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY I GET WHY THEY WOULD NEVER VOTE DEMOCRAT. "

not 100% certain this is actually the case but i'm pretty sure the only time we see sand in a tee without a graphic on it is when he's enacting his little scheme by revealing the sex tape to ray

speaking English as a sign of duplicity
the first time we hear english in kinnporsche is when kinn confronts don over don’s embezzlement. both men break from their native languages to english during this discussion, where kinn puts on an affable air as he obliquely threatens don, and don insists he’s working towards a good and kind working relationship with kinn right before he sends men after kinn to kill him
the first time we see kim tutor chay, his first bit of dialogue is in english. the actual discussion isn’t important, but its notable that he hasn’t spoken english again since. his first intentions with chay were disingenuous and he was only meeting with chay to learn more about his brother. but since then, as kim’s reasons for wanting to hang out with chay turn more and more honest, he hasn’t spoken english since
vegas constantly slips between thai and english. english is his language of choice when he’s feeling sadistic and/or sly--its a deliberate tell to taunt everyone around him, a game of his own making to flaunt the cracks in his mask before others and watch them fail to see it. but he also slips into english when he’s genuinely frustrated/angry/losing control (”this wasn’t the FUCKING plan!”) and reveals his true plans or intentions
you know who else is constantly slipping between thai and english?
they told us ken was the mole right from the start

That meme about experts in a particular field wrongly assuming that everyone understands what is to them surface level basics but otherwise still very niche information, but about gay subtext in films.
AKA I made an off-handed comment referring to that Luca movie (which my niece LOVES right now for w/e reason) as "the little mermaid but the main characters are two gay boys"

Why can't people here just freaking act like adults instead of butthurt high schoolers who have to point fingers, spread rumors and play victim to feel better about themselves? 😒🙄🤦♀️
