The Trail to Oregon! isn’t my favourite StarKid show, but I respect it. It made me feel genuinely moved by a character named Slippery When Wet Dikrats, and laugh out loud at a sweet, innocent seven-year-old boy slowly dying in agony of a horrible disease while his family helplessly watched. That takes… something. A lot of it. If you can pull off emotional weight in a show like this, you can pull it off in anything - and they do.

starkid musical tournament baby!!!
i've seen a couple of singular polls about which is your favourite starkid musical, but because of option limit (</3) they have to group some together and/or omit some musicals, which is #sad, so i thought i would take it upon myself to spice things up and make a whole bracket for it !!
this possibly has been done before, but i follow a ton of starkid blogs and i haven't seen any make the rounds so far so i made one :)
[sorry i know it's a stretch adding nmt 1 & 2 and lwl because they're not technically musicals but i had to pad the bracket out to make it work so shhh]
final round will be posted 11th may 2023 at 9pm BST !!

the ox ending doesn't get a slot because i know you fuckers would vanilla extract that shit.
(for anyone who's confused by this, "trail to oregon" is a musical based on the game "the oregon trail," and each show, the audience could vote to see who died of dysentery at the end. there was apparently one show where as a joke, the family's ox died instead- i think there are some recordings floating around out there. the creators put the whole show up for free on youtube and it is EXTREMELY funny.)

Hey guys, Tin Can Bros posted a response:
(Starkid hasn't said anything yet as far as I can tell.)
Seems like Spotify is doing something weird, hopefully it gets figured out and fixed soon...
I'd recommend maybe trying to get in contact with/@ mention Spotify on places like Twitter in the meantime?

What was the son's arc in trail to oregon
So the Son doesn’t have a clear arc like the rest of the characters because he doesn’t need one, but he helps the other characters grow.
First, his speech about figuring life out through trial and error (and putting stuff in his mouth) is oddly introspective and self-aware for a child. It seems like he’s the only character who is aware of their own flaws, whereas his family is too stubborn to admit theirs. He is what the characters should aspire to become.
The Son is the heart of TTO. He was the only character acknowledging the fact that his family was falling apart, as he was the only one who had empathy for the buffaloes. His hyperfixation on skinny dipping is weird, but he makes a good point about throwing your shame away and enjoying the simple pleasures in life. He has an effect on everyone else with his compassion and optimism. It’s an underlying driving force. So even though he doesn’t have a character arc, he has a purpose besides being a funny sidekick.
and also, he’s a lil guy and i love him

they should dress up the entirety of starkid in lobster costumes and have correy dorris fight them in a boxing ring occasionally breaking into songs every 15 minutes and call it the lobster war.
