You know what? I do want a long, agonising, rivals-to-friends-to-lovers Solangelo. I would like that very much.

HOWEVER:

I don't want to read through months of romantic pining and a dramatic confession scene. I don't want for these two completely opposite people from different times to become besties in three seconds and then spend months crying about "he is my bestest friend in the world but what if he doesnt like me that way (((((???"

What I want, is for the slow burn, dramatic, 'oh' bit to be the rivals-to-friends instead of the friends-to-lovers. I want to read about Nico still feeling insecure and terrified about his sexuality in contrast to Will, someone openly pan. I want to read about them not liking eachother out of fear but being drawn together out of fascination, I want to read about Nico finally, finally having a healthy relationship with someone he will openly consider a friend and realizing that and having a mental breakdown because when was the last time he had a proper friend?

I want the agonising, snail's pace path from dislike out of not understanding the other, to begrudging acceptance, to friendly acquaintances, and then finally to best friends, someone you feel so comfortable around you feel like you could tell them anything, and when the romantic feelings arrive, when you start to feel more, it's more natural than anything to ask, to say "will you go on a date with me?" without regret or fear because you trust this person more than anyone else in the world.

Ok how are there literally no year round campers at all except for Nico and Will???? Doesn’t make any sense at all. In every other book there about 10-15 year round campers that didn’t have anywhere else to go or didn’t have a mortal parent to care for them or didn’t want to be with their mortal parent or had to stay at camp cause their scent was way too strong and constantly harassed by monsters. I know they didn’t all go to college or the mortal world. Yeah I understand why demigods who have a decent mortal family would want to go home and spend time with them. What about the kids who don’t have a martial family???? Or the kids who ran away from their abusive mortal family???? Where the hell are they??????

what’s so difficult about writing Will’s pov anyway. 70% of it is just gonna be how much he loves his dad, 20% is gonna be sassing Nico, and 10% “I’m just a humble healer, but boy do I wish I had the power of MURDERING SOME SHITHEADS from time to time”
