Well, you know what they say. You can't have "mother" without "MOTH".

I like how drawings of Radiance basically have two modes: "imposing, forgotten god of the light" and "smol angery floof ball". It's kinda fun to imagine her taking a smaller form now and then, if only to be able to be a bit closer to her adopted daughter (and also threaten said daughter's crush/bf)

The bottom caption's kinda hard to read, sorry the camera botched my handwriting ;-;

Headcanons

Girl types Jax likes;

Bookish Lady: Smart?? Cute?? Lovable?? Maybe has glasses??? And really nice hair, like wowie. Sometimes kinda grump but they just need a nice book and some cookies and a big snuggle hug from him and vwala - happy. They can teach him to read!! They can teach him to write!! So smart! They make him warm and fuzzy inside and he loves them very much.

Pixie Trickster: V attractive evil grins. Queen of pranks. Loves potato chips, soda, other junk foods just like Jaxyboy. Probably has too much play dough/silly putty. Puns? Puns. Fuck yeah, all the puns. Best laugh all day every day any year; cackles like an evil villain, giggles like a pixie. Gives taunting kisses that makes Jax pouty but he lovs them anyways because k i s s e s.

Shy, Sweet and Amazing: Smol. Easily flustered. Makes him cookies and tries their best to be nice to him, and he does the same to them. Squishy cheekies, fun to smootch. Easy to hug and fun to cuddle. Probably gets buried by his floof and big arms. Loves using him as a pillow, and he is happy to be a good pillow.

Boy types Jax likes;

Tol Sassy Boy: Kinda predictable b u t. Bad (in a good way)? Sassy? Pretty? Hella handsome? Angry with the world because of several, valid, relatable reasons. High cheekbones perfect for kissing. Long leggies to hug!! Protects Jax in his own special way. Jax protects him in his (probably more violent) way. A Total Bitch™ 24/7, except with Jaxy, when he becomes a really sweet boy with a pretty smile and lots of love to share!!

Secretary Smarty: Like Bookish Lady, but boy! Round circle glasses, either gray/gold, or in silly colors like blue and red. Easily flustered, and reads all the time. It’s hard to find him without a book. Sometimes you have to steal his book to get attention, but loves a bit of goofin. 90% of hangouts are Jax snoozing against his leg or cuddling and being read to sleeps.

Chef Cutie: Rlly good cook. Lets Jax waddle about the kitchen and try whatever new concoction/recipe they’ve come up with. They have a little assistant chef outfit designed especially for him. Talk a lot abt their adventures with various kitchen-related injuries. Likes to cuddle while reading cookbooks. Smells like flour and vanilla extract.

nb types Jax likes;

Smartie: Has too much candy. Really good at remembering little facts about things that most people have forgotten, like what ‘aglet’ means. Totally reads dictionaries in their free time. Has a vocabulary so huge that Jax’s ego pales in comparison. Really likes spicy food. Good at pretty much everything except math, because fuck that.

Collector: V fascinated by a single type of object. Like pirate stuff. Or plants. Or round things (like Jaxyboy!!!). Or clocks. Messy desk (it’s an organized mess!! >=0), old jackets, warm blankets with holes in them. Likes junk food. Probably runs/works at a thrift store or a gaming store. Knows a lot about their favorite thing! Talks a lot about them! Teaches Jax cool things about the thing that no one else really knows! Wow!!!

Goblin: Smol and ready 2 fite. V angery. Likes being picked up but doesn’t make that apparent. Bites anyone who makes them or Jaxyboy upset. Owns like 3 hairless cats. Pseudo-/Casual-goth aesthetic. Listens to rock and/or heavy metal, but never when Jax is around bc he gets uncomfortable listening to those types of music. Either a hardcore vegan or eats literally anything in front of them, no in between.

Or well, that's what he thought until one summer at the world's worst summer camp with the world's nicest camp counselor took that idea and flipped it right on its head.

Now, he's learning that he might just deserve better than what he's got, which is how he finds himself on a bus ride from Los Angeles to Portland in search for help from a camp counselor, and maybe even a real home."
