Ok life cycle of a jelly mer is a GO. I’ll stick it under the cut in case anyone doesn’t want to see the lil development/newborn stuff

BUT before that since I know at least a few people are going to ask; yes, you can hold tiny baby medusa Neil, it can’t even sting you yet. Just a lil tingle

(Shout out to @the-tortoise-lady for the idea of baby Neil with no common sense or self awareness being very certain it both can and will eat that thing it found wading in the water near the beach (fisherman Andrew))

So normal jellyfish polyps grow into what looks like little stacked saucers or plates and when one breaks off it grows into the actual medusa we all know. So like. I’m just imagining the upper body/human part of the mer grows inside more like two cups stacked together, and there’s only one per polyp (i don’t even know if regular polyps have multiple discs break off tbh).

But according to some v quick research and not being able to find specifically Sea Nettle reproductive cycle, I am declaring their polyps the average size of Small (about an inch/3cm or something close) and their baby medusae have A LOT of growing to do :D

Six scuba diving inside of a old underwater shipwreck while she is wearing a yellow short sleeved wetsuit diving fins and diving mask

Six would come across a scarred friendly Great White Shark Pup and pets it as they both decide to hunt for fish together due to Six armed with a underwater speargun and secretly her teeth aswell and hungry nature

while exploring the eerie underwater shipwreck finding kinds of different things inside it and sneakily find a abandoned treasure chest together and swim together back to the surface of the water and meanwhile Mono would be worriedly confused while in a boat wondering where the hell Six went as it was in the middle of the night

until Mono gets spooked by Six surfacing and alongside with the great white shark pup and treasure chest as it gets thrown abroad onto the boat

Mono be worriedly complaining to Six but she is to focused picking up the great white shark pup like a cat in her arms while in the water and giving a unphased look and Mono be utter baffled by the treasure chest staring at it .

Whalemack!

He’s a gray/grey whale, very nice and VERY big (though about half the size of a blue whale). He’s been mostly solitary for a while, sometimes joining other whales on their migrations, but then he starts collecting little mer children that make travel hard. I’ll probably add some scars from boats/etc to this design. And we need to figure out if mers have tattoos 🧐

“What is?”

“Flowers,” their eyes shift quickly up and down, tracing over his long hair. “flowers… in your hair!”

“Too bad, Squ. A deal’s a deal.”

Dexterous fingers pull the hair tie tight at the end of the thick silver braid. “Aah, my lovely Raperonzolo,” they coo, adjusting the flowers as they arrange them in his hair until they deemed it perfect.

“Shut up,” he grumbles, eyes scanning over the documents in front of him. He signs at the bottom and places it into the neat pile on his desk. Squalo’s long legs extend in front of him as he pushes himself back in the rolling chair, looking over his shoulder at his partner. “You fuckin' done yet?”

They nod happily, before holding a mirror up to show him his beautifully arranged hair.

His scream of horror echoed down the halls that afternoon.
