I want to write a story about a young kid with red hair who grew up basically alone. He knows he's got a few siblings, or where they? from the orphanage, but he doesn't really remember. When he is around 12, and about to pass a ritual of his town to become an adult, a fae in human form (or so it seems) fights him to the ground in the forest and then is called out for it by a beautiful, blue-wearing queen who tells him the ritual is going to leave him scarred for life, but he can, instead, abandon everything behind and join them.
(I'm not even able to draw stick figures so all credits for the art to their respective owners, I'm putting visual help because it seems to keep readers invested longer)

(unbeknownst from the hero but beknownst from the reader, she only invites him because of a prophecy she thinks is about him)
Then he trains among the faefolk to become a warrior and a hunter instead of depending on the town's rationned, industrial food, and even if some faes are rude to him because he's just human, some accept him, such as the one who first fought him. At some point, he discovers he was a fae all along, or rather, they are not faefolks, they are just humans at their best, living wild and free and not under an oppressive yoke like everyone in town.
But the ''fae'' (we'll continue to call them like that even if they are not) are not united. And they are not always peaceful. In fact, theirs laws authorize up to two persons only, in each faetribe, out of elders and babies of course, who are allowed not to fight, and who are not supposed to be harmed either (and those are healers, who know and transmit ancestral knowledge and medicine). So when he finds, at 15 or so, an old fae from a different clan, he fights her. She yields and he pities her because she is starving after having been banned from her tribe. That's important for the rest of the story. He pities her and asks the Queen of his tribe to welcome and protect the other Fae, like the queen did for him. But she was not exiled for nothing, and those who sought to harm her in the first place come back, declare a total war on his tribe. A peace-sworn healer whom he had a crush on even if she was at least ten years older, is killed, despite all known faelaws. THe exiled one reveals she trained to be a healer too when she was younger, and offers to take the late one's place, and the queen allows after the exiled one helps them topple down the entire corrupt political system of the other tribe.

The next night, the red-haired boy is named an adult, a warrior, a hunter, much to the jealousy of woodborn faes who trained with him. He is given his adult name.
He then trains even harder than before, starts training his own fae youngling, and then one day, he wanders off the woods and into the town again.
People he knew don't recognize him - eh, he is a ''fae'' now, he's changed - save for one, who used to be his sister. Like him she is around 18, but she just gave birth to a son, and after he goes to her a few times, she gives him the baby, telling him that she wants her boy to be proud and wild and free like his uncle, and he brings the kid to the queen. Many mock him again for bringing yet another ''human'' to the tribe, but the queen trusts his judgement, and wishes no harm to a child, so she lets the kid stay. He is fostered by a woman who just gave birth to twins (multiple births are not rare among the faefolk, and triplets are even common) while our hero continues to train his youngling, but said youngling is gravely injured, to no one's fault, and, unable to fight, has no other choice but to become one of the two people of the tribe allowed not to fight. She thus becomes a healer.
His best friend also starts a forbidden romance with a young fae from another tribe, who happens to be that other tribe's king's daughter, and when she dies in childbirth in the arms of her beloved, the two tribes nearly go to war, but the king of the other faes and the queen of the hero's tribe decide one death was enough.
Multiple things don't seem to add up tho, both in the first total war between tribes he fought, and in the youngling's accident, and in other occasions. Investigating, he will learn many secrets, among which the fact the Queen, against all laws, had children with a fae from another tribe, and let him raise her children in order to become the queen (a nursing mother is rarely ever elected to this office), but also that the Queen's must trusted advisor is a traitor, who gave insight on the tribe to the ennemies but also was at the origin of the young girl's accident, etc. The hero saves the Queen's life when the advisor tries to kill her after his plot was revealed, and after the evil advisor is exiled, the hero is appointed to the second highest office in the tribe (the first being the queen/king's place).
The betrayal of the former advisor took a heavy toll on the queen's mental health, tho. As she spirals down, the hero is desperately trying to keep the tribe united (in spite of the traitor now leading his own tribe of rag tag misfits and old guard from the evil tribe of the very beginning) and then... odd murders start. In fact, a very large, canine form of life, wolf-like but worse, has fled a farther territory and is now feeding on the faeland, which means endangering the young faes. The hero is not even 24 at this point but he is supposed to train his nephew to become a warrior and hunter, keep the tribe under control in behalf of the queen, speak in her place in inter-tribes assemblies without making it obvious she cannot make a coherent sentence anymore, and find out what is happening with the new predator species. When he does find out, alas, they already killed his nephew's foster mother and one of his playmates, and defaced another one of the young trainees.
After a halting race against these monstruosities, the hero leads them to their doom, but the evil former-advisor traps him so he is doomed too. As he regrets dying this young, but not giving his life for his clan, the Queen, in her last lucid moments, saves him and dooms herself along with the monsters.
And as everything falls to its place again, he is named king at the tender age of 25 (when most kings are crowned around 40 and some even older).
He goes through a painful but necessary ritual, meets his ancestors, talks to them, thanks the queen for her sacrifice, and receives powers that all the faemonarchs possess.
Then a new tribe appears, but not a tribe of faes, no. A tribe of humans who pretend to be faes in order to steal their territory. And as they kill much more easily than the faes (who, except for a few exceptions, respect their ennemy's life), the hero needs to unite all four tribes of the faefolks to drive them out. His own Prime Advisor dies in the process, but a loyalty he doubted (the one of the evil former prime advisor's son) is proved to be true. The hero kills himself, thanks to his powers, the chief of the human tribe.
And then is revealed to him the prophecy about how he would save the faefolks.
And then we would follow him again, and his daughters after him, how they battled with outside elements, agressive post-industrial revolution humans, and inside elements, to save the tribes too. One of his daughters would live a romance with the son of the evil former prime advisor, the other a romance with a fae from another tribe. His grandchildren would be in the center of their own prophecy. His nephew's grandchild would be linked to that same prophecy. A forgotten tribe would be brought back to life. The four tribes would have to leave the woods to go in a new territory because you can't win all your battles. The deads would rise from their grave, haunt the dreams of the living, kill them, fight them, make them bleed. A gigantic battle in which all the good faes and all the evil faes who ever died would fight alongside the living would happen.
And then the hero would die a peaceful death, having been far more than just the fate's tool the queen first thought he would be when she welcomed him in the tribe. He would be burried outside his castle and tales of his might be sung for generations to come.
And then, since all this started with "I want to write a story''... it would be made into a movie, into a series, into a lot of things, into merchs, into stickers...
and then at some point someone would ask me in an interview ''how did you find the idea to write this book?"
and I would never, ever admit that it all started as a Warrior Cats - Human AU.

A continuation of this.
Sea Salt and Sand by neggut [ongoing]
In the autumn holidays 3 months ago, Brynn and Bailey shared a kiss. When Bailey left, Brynn tried to forget all about her and continue living an unremarkable life, only for Bailey to suddenly transfer to her school! What follows is a coming of age story full of pining, misunderstandings and confusion as Brynn and Bailey question the true nature of their relationship.
It’s cute and a bit angsty but not too much. The art style often feels incomplete or rushed but in a good way, its flaws give character to the characters and the story. One of my all time favourites.

Dragonbourne by Gummy Shark [ongoing]
After a troubled past, Sir Ross Edmund Avery is somewhat content to lead a mundane existence, alone in his house. However, when he stumbles upon a child in the woods on Solstice Night who is anything but mundane, his simple life will be turned upside down.
A scar(r)ed man adopts a feral child, hijinks ensue. Once again, the art style is endearing, full of curves and long lines. Haven’t checked on that one in a while but the first twenty chapters were very promising.

She's the galaxy's worst nightmare: a Human. Fortunately, she's the last one. Now her adoptive (alien) mother is realizing that raising a young Human is no easy task.
Basically the badass and child duo trope but the truth may surprise you. Fun, cute, very wholesome, and surprisingly emotionnaly philosophical at times. Spidermom is best mom.

Haven’t quite wrapped my head around this one yet, but it’s fun and drawn by sigeel (a.k.a. Linda Sejic) so of course it’s beautiful. Enjoyed it a lot, will have to keep reading.

Not many chapters yet but very long ones to compensate. This one is by Shiniez (a.k.a. Stjepan Sejic) so, once again, love the art. The story, the character designs and concepts, and the pace are all amazing.

She soon discovered that her body was unfit to return home without endangering life on earth. Join her on her journey traversing this new world and these new feelings for an alien general.
POV: You’re living your best life as a young adult, at the shopping mall at 2am in your pyjamas, when suddenly death aliens rain pain all around and you’re abducted only to be saved by tall buff alien commander lady. Romance ensues. Maybe, it’s slow burn but quite enjoyable to read.

I haven’t actually started this one yet, but the premise is very very very interesting. Perhaps not for thos who are faint of heart? Deceptively cute. Or is it?

Castle Swimmer by Wendy Lian Martin [ongoing]
What happens when your entire life is ruled by a prophecy – your future foretold by people you’ve never met, who died long before you were born. Such is the story of two young sea creatures. One believed to be a guiding light for his people, a Beacon who will lead them to a bright, prosperous future. The other is a teenage prince for who’s destiny is to KILL the Beacon so that HIS own people might thrive. When both reject the course set for them, it leads to a raucous adventure as big and unpredictable as the ocean itself – and a romance that nobody could have predicted.
It’s fish. It’s gay. It’s under da sea and ya gotta kiss the boy. I haven’t read it all yet but enough to vouch for it and to have some vested interest in the universe and its lore.

After a compromise it was agreed that criminals would attend a "demons highschool" where they would work as slaves for demons And while it was all in good favor, things take a very dark and twisted turn at said, highschool.
There’s something, some kind of twist, about the MC which I haven’t gotten to yet, and which I am very interested to discover. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this one as of now, mostly curious I’d say.

Dani and Dorian have missed the bus of the school of magic. Now, they must find someone who teach them how to be a great and good witches... Or maybe not.
This one is a strange one about witchery and family. Surprisingly deep and serious at times, very enjoyable. Unfinished on Webtoon but a good start to get into the story.

Sasaki Mari is a typical delinquent troublemaker whose only goal is to get a boyfriend, but due to her reputation as bully and low grades, all the boys reject her. Then she decides to change her style, and asks for help from the student with the best grades in the class.
It starts off light and fund and progressively seems to delve a little bit more into the seriousness of life. Not a tragedy, however, and very much worth a read still.

Luna is a delinquent whom often gets in trouble, as Luna reaches the end of the line she almost gets expelled, now luna has to become a model student with the help of Alice. Will Luna be expelled or will she succeed, read to find out.
Along the lines of Not So Shoujo Love Story, In My Heart, and Susuhara is a Demon. Delinquent/Good Student meetcute, romantinc hijincks ensue.

This is the story of a girl named Boo. She has pink hair and a vivid imagination and she is about to discover a side of herself that she never considered before.
Okay, so yes, this one is also also a delinquent meets cute nice girl, but - BUT! - there’s an element of story telling that I love about it: the way we see Boo’s anxiety incorporated visually into the story. Just for that it is one of my favourite recent discoveries!

Okay so I don't know if you can actually find this suggestion on Webtoon but I HIGHLY recommend Punderworld!! It doesn't have many episodes but I really love it so far. And there's also one called The Queen and the Woodborn that just started but I'm so in love with it already. c:
I. Love. Punderworld. It deserves just as much attention as Lore Olympus. I love the designs and the character dynamics so much already!
I have not checked out The Queen and the Woodborn but I will!!! I am always looking for new stuff to add to my Webtoons!!!
