Seek the pursuit of Allah’s pleasure 🕊
“And indeed those who believe and keep doing pious deeds, for them are Gardens with streams flowing under them. This is the Great Victory.”

Do not burden your souls with the pursuit of your desires, for souls are exhausted like bodies, if not more.
So give them relief with the adornment of Allah, which He has bestowed upon His servants, and beware of the forbidden,
for its beginning is a bitter pleasure and its end is a bitter regret

In the pursuit of seeking the pleasure of Allah lies the secret to true happiness. When we strive sincerely and devotedly to earn the pleasure of Allah, peace and tranquility will fill our hearts and those of others around us. The love and affection that emanate from the fear of Allah are priceless, as they grant the soul a light and warmth that shines in all directions.
When we feel the love of Allah within our hearts, we find ourselves living in peace and confidence, and we interact with people with kindness and love, attracting goodness and affection from those around us. Love and affection are the universal language that connects people’s hearts, and when we radiate them sincerely, we reap great rewards from those around us.
Therefore, do not let your concern be solely about winning the hearts of people in a way that contradicts the pleasure of Allah, but strive to gain the pleasure of Allah in all that you do. Seek the light that emanates from your heart when you are close to Allah, and the path to happiness and contentment will open up in every aspect of your life.
If you desire to win the hearts of people, let your intention be to care for and serve them by offering love and care. Be like the generous tree that bears fruit abundantly without waiting for thanks, for Allah will make the hearts of people turn towards you with affection and respect.
The absolute and everlasting truth is the pleasure of Allah, for if you please Him, He will guide the hearts of people towards you. Make an effort to draw closer to Allah and do good in your life, and you will find happiness and love filling your heart and emanating from you.
Never forget that Allah is the source of all goodness and love, and if you seek to draw near to Him, He will guide you on the right path to winning people's love in the right way. The love that springs from Allah is the true love that heals hearts and unites people in goodness.
Therefore, be a cause for the manifestation of love and affection in people's lives by drawing closer to Allah and by dealing with sincerity and devotion. Nurture your relationship with Allah, and you will find that love and affection will emanate from your heart towards everyone around you, bringing peace and happiness to your life and the lives of others.
Always seek to achieve the greatest satisfaction, the pleasure of Allah, and you will find true happiness and genuine love filling your heart and emanating from you. Be a beacon of good in this world, and contribute to spreading love and peace among people with a pure will and a heart filled with love and sacrifice.

I wanted to share this beautiful note that Imam Ibn al-Qayyim made about the dunya in his book 'Al-Fawaid'. (Al-Fawaid is a collection of notes on various topics by Ibn al-Qayyim)
He says,
الدُّنْيَا كامرأة بغي لَا تثبت مَعَ زوج إِنَّمَا تخْطب الْأزْوَاج ليستحسنوا عَلَيْهَا فَلَا ترْضى بالدياثة.
The dunya is like a promiscuous woman who does not settle with a husband. She becomes engaged to many partners so that they praise her beauty. So don’t be satisfied with cuckoldry.
I compared her beauty to her actions
And beauty mixed with ugliness is unfulfilling
She swore not to break our covenant
But it is as if she swore to never uphold it
Travelling in her pursuit is like travelling in a land filled with beasts of prey, and swimming in it is like swimming in a stream filled with crocodiles.
What delights of it, is exactly what brings sadness. Its pains are born of its pleasures, and its sorrows of its delights.
مآرب كَانَت فِي الشَّبَاب لأَهْلهَا ... عَذَاب فَصَارَت فِي المشيب عذَابا
Useful things to people when they are young,
Become punishments, in old age.
طَائِر الطَّبْع يرى الْحبَّة وَعين الْعقل ترى الشّرك غير أَن عين الْهوى عميا
The bird by nature sees the grain, and the eye of the intellect sees the snare [behind it]. But the eye of desire is blind.
وَعين الرِّضَا عَن كل عيب كليلة ... كَمَا أَن عين السخط تبدي المساويا
The eye of contentment is weak in seeing faults
While the eye of discontent sees all imperfections.
How beautiful!
May Allah grant us the tawfiq to understand the truth of the dunya, and deal with her accordingly.
Barakallah Feek,

Obstacles to Virtue - The Islamic Perspective
Introduction:
In Islam, the journey towards spiritual enlightenment and righteousness is marked by overcoming various obstacles that impede one's connection with Allah (God) and the fulfillment of one's purpose. These impediments, referred to as "snares of virtue," encompass pitfalls, delusions, and attachments that distract believers from the straight path (Al-Sirat al-Mustaqeem). Understanding and navigating these challenges are essential for Muslims seeking to attain inner peace and spiritual fulfillment.
Obstacles Hindering Virtue, Delusions Hindering the Will, and Attachments Binding the Heart:
• Ignorance and Weakness (Nafs): Ignorance of personal weaknesses (Nafs) and attachment to worldly desires (Hawa) obstruct virtue. Acknowledge and confront the lower self's inclinations through self-reflection, repentance (tawbah), and seeking forgiveness (istighfar).
As mentioned in the Quran (64:16), "So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be successful."
Examples include succumbing to anger, envy, or arrogance, and excessive indulgence in wealth, status, or physical pleasures.
• Trials and Tribulations (Fitnah) and Doubt (Shubha): Aversion to trials and tribulations (Fitnah) and doubt in Allah's guidance (Shubha) hinder the will. Embrace challenges as opportunities for spiritual growth and strengthen faith through regular recitation and reflection on the Quran.
As mentioned in the Quran (2:155), "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient."
Examples include facing illness or loss with resilience and questioning the authenticity of Islamic teachings.
• Seeking Approval and Ego-driven Pursuits (Riya and Kibr): Seeking approval from others (Riya) and ego-driven pursuits (Kibr) obstruct virtue. Perform acts of worship sincerely for the sake of Allah alone and foster humility by acknowledging Allah's greatness.
As mentioned in a Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The first of man's deeds for which he will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection will be Salah. If it is found to be perfect, he will be safe and successful; but if it is incomplete, he will be unfortunate and a loser."
Examples include showing off in prayers or charity and looking down on others due to perceived superiority.
• Divine Decree (Qadar) and Self-Sufficiency (Ghurur): Ignorance of divine decree (Qadar) and illusion of self-sufficiency (Ghurur) hinder the will. Trust in Allah's wisdom and accept both blessings and trials with gratitude.
As mentioned in the Quran (64:11), "No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things."
Examples include questioning calamities and attributing success solely to personal effort.
• Accountability (Ghaflah) and Doubt in Afterlife (Shakk): Denial of accountability (Ghaflah) and doubt in the afterlife (Shakk) hinder the will. Increase awareness of death and strengthen belief in the Hereafter.
As mentioned in the Quran (35:45), "And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allah has ever been, of His servants, Seeing."
Examples include neglecting prayers or feeling skeptical about the consequences of one's actions.
• Restless Pursuit of Worldly Gains and Ego Identity (Hubb al-Dunya, Nafs): Restless pursuit of worldly gains (Hubb al-Dunya) and ego identity attachment (Nafs) bind the heart. Practice detachment from worldly possessions and strive for self-purification.
As mentioned in the Quran (57:20), "Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion."
Examples include excessive attachment to wealth and identifying oneself solely based on worldly desires.
• Fear-based Reliance and Worldly Status (Tawakkul, Jaah): Fear-based reliance on creation (Tawakkul) and ego-driven attachment to worldly status (Jaah) bind the heart. Strengthen trust in Allah's plan and cultivate contentment with one's station in life.
As mentioned in a Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whosoever seeks honor, Allah will honor him, and whosoever seeks humiliation, Allah will humiliate him."
Examples include excessive worry about the future and seeking validation from others at the expense of compromising values.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, recognizing and overcoming the obstacles, delusions, and attachments discussed is crucial for Muslims striving for spiritual growth and fulfillment. By understanding these challenges and implementing the practical guidance provided by the Quran and Hadith, believers can navigate the path of righteousness more effectively and draw closer to Allah. It is through sincere effort, self-reflection, and reliance on Allah's mercy that individuals can transcend these barriers and achieve inner peace and spiritual fulfillment in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Further Readings and Resources:
For those interested in delving deeper into the topics discussed, the following readings and resources are recommended:

• Seek guidance and knowledge from reliable scholars and spiritual mentors who can provide further insights and guidance on the journey towards spiritual growth in Islam. Additionally, actively engaging in community-based activities, such as study circles, Islamic lectures, and volunteering opportunities, can foster a supportive environment for spiritual development and learning. Finally, consistent reflection, prayer, and seeking forgiveness from Allah are essential practices to maintain sincerity and humility in one's spiritual journey.

The Elixir of Contemplation: Confronting Excess in a Modern World through the Lens of Mortality
Navigating Modern Excess with the Wisdom of Islam
The Harbinger of Moderation: Death as the Antidote to Consumerism
In a world dominated by hyper-consumerism, the concept of death serves as a powerful catalyst for reflection. Islam invites individuals to ponder the ephemeral nature of worldly pleasures, offering a counterbalance to the excesses of materialism.
Quran (3:185) — “Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So, he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire].”
The Paradox of Materialism: Seeking Abundance in Simplicity
The more we are entangled in the pursuit of worldly possessions, the farther we may stray from the essence of a meaningful life. Islam advocates for simplicity and contentment, reminding us that true abundance lies not in the accumulation of goods but in a heart at peace with the remembrance of the Divine.
Hadith (Sahih Muslim) — “Riches does not mean, having a great amount of property, but riches is self-contentment.”
Acknowledging the inevitable — death — transforms our perspective on life. Quranic verses and Hadiths guide us to live in the present moment, utilizing our time wisely, engaging in acts of charity, and deepening our connection with the Divine.
Quran (63:9) — “O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that — then those are the losers.”
Hadith (Sahih Bukhari) — “Take benefit of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before you are preoccupied, and your life before your death.”
Prayer as a Profound Reminder: Embracing Each Salah as the Last
Every prayer in Islam is an opportunity for spiritual renewal and consciousness. Considering each prayer as if it were our last prompts a deeper connection with the Divine, fostering mindfulness and devotion.
Charity as an Investment for Eternity: Alleviating the Weight of Worldly Attachments
Islam encourages charity as a means to break the chains of materialism. By generously giving to those in need, individuals free themselves from the burdens of excess and cultivate a sense of purpose in making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Quran (2:267) — You who believe, give charitably from the good things you have acquired and that We have produced for you from the earth. Do not give away the bad things that you yourself would only accept with your eyes closed: remember that God is self-sufficient, worthy of all praise.
In contemplating the destroyer of pleasures, Islam provides a profound remedy for the modern world’s excesses. By embracing the inevitability of death, individuals can find liberation from the shackles of materialism, focusing on a purposeful and spiritually fulfilling existence.

I’m an old man now, and a lonesome man in Kansas
but not afraid
to speak my lonesomeness in a car,
because not only my lonesomeness
it’s Ours, all over America,
O tender fellows—
& spoken lonesomeness is Prophecy
in the moon 100 years ago or in
the middle of Kansas now.
It’s not the vast plains mute our mouths
that fill at midnite with ecstatic language
when our trembling bodies hold each other
breast to breast on a mattress—
Not the empty sky that hides
the feeling from our faces
nor our skirts and trousers that conceal
the bodylove emanating in a glow of beloved skin,
white smooth abdomen down to the hair
between our legs,
It’s not a God that bore us that forbid
our Being, like a sunny rose
all red with naked joy
between our eyes & bellies, yes
All we do is for this frightened thing
we call Love, want and lack—
fear that we aren’t the one whose body could be
beloved of all the brides of Kansas City,
kissed all over by every boy of Wichita—
O but how many in their solitude weep aloud like me—
On the bridge over Republican River
almost in tears to know
how to speak the right language—
on the frosty broad road
uphill between highway embankments
I search for the language
that is also yours—
almost all our language has been taxed by war.
Radio antennae high tension
wires ranging from Junction City across the plains—
highway cloverleaf sunk in a vast meadow
lanes curving past Abilene
to Denver filled with old
heroes of love—
to Wichita where McClure’s mind
burst into animal beauty
drunk, getting laid in a car
in a neon misted street
to Independence where the old man’s still alive
who loosed the bomb that’s slaved all human consciousness
and made the body universe a place of fear—
Now, speeding along the empty plain,
no giant demon machine
visible on the horizon
but tiny human trees and wooden houses at the sky’s edge
I claim my birthright!
reborn forever as long as Man
in Kansas or other universe—Joy
reborn after the vast sadness of the War Gods!
A lone man talking to myself, no house in the brown vastness to hear
imagining that throng of Selves
that make this nation one body of Prophecy
languaged by Declaration as Pursuit of
Happiness!
I call all Powers of imagination
to my side in this auto to make Prophecy,
all Lords
of human kingdoms to come
Shambu Bharti Baba naked covered with ash
Khaki Baba fat-bellied mad with the dogs
Dehorahava Baba who moans Oh how wounded, How wounded
Sitaram Onkar Das Thakur who commands
give up your desire
Satyananda who raises two thumbs in tranquility
Kali Pada Guha Roy whose yoga drops before the void
Shivananda who touches the breast and says OM
Srimata Krishnaji of Brindaban who says take for your guru
William Blake the invisible father of English visions
Sri Ramakrishna master of ecstasy eyes
half closed who only cries for his mother
Chitanya arms upraised singing & dancing his own praise
merciful Chango judging our bodies
Durga-Ma covered with blood
destroyer of battlefield illusions
million faced Tathagata gone past suffering
Preserver Harekrishna returning in the age of pain
Sacred Heart my Christ acceptable
Allah the compassionate one
Jaweh Righteous One
all Knowledge-Princes of Earth-man, all
ancient Seraphim of heavenly Desire, Devas, yogis
& holymen I chant to—
Come to my lone presence
into this Vortex named Kansas,
I lift my voice aloud,
make Mantra of American language now,
I here declare the end of the War!
Ancient days’ Illusion!—
and pronounce words beginning my own millennium.
Let the States tremble,
let the nation weep,
let Congress legislate its own delight,
let the President execute his own desire—
this Act done by my own voice,
nameless Mystery—
published to my own senses,
blissfully received by my own form
approved with pleasure by my sensations
manifestation of my very thought
accomplished in my own imagination
all realms within my consciousness fulfilled
60 miles from Wichita
near El Dorado,
The Golden One,
in chill earthly mist
houseless brown farmland plains rolling heavenward
in every direction

held prisoner in Niggertown
still pining for love of your tender white bodies O children of Wichita!

🍃🕊🍃 Question 8: Allah, Love or Fear?
Question: Should the remembrance of Allah (awj) evoke fear or love?
The co-existence of fear and hope, and in some cases love, in respect to Allah (awj), should not be a source of confusion as this phenomenon permeates all relationships of love to varying degrees. However, because of its over-conspicuousness, we are blind to it. It must be noted that even as routine a matter as walking is the result of fear, hope, and love, for without hope we will not embark on walking, and without walking, we will not reach out destination, and without fear we will not exercise caution and thus will be hurt, and again will fail to reach our destination. This issue becomes all the more clear when using automobiles, electrical appliances, incendiaries, etc. for we take pleasure in using them, but if our usage is not contained and tempered by fear and caution, using them might end in our destruction.
Therefore, it is correct to say that one must fear Allah (awj), love Him, and have hope in Him all at the same time. For loving Him and having hope in Him will bring about harmony on the one hand, and will on the other hand, compel us to take action, struggle, and push forth in our endeavour to acquire the elements that will secure His satisfaction and ultimately lead to being blessed by His effusions, graces, and bounties in this world and the hereafter. His fear will evoke humility and servility; it will strengthen the spirit of obedience and preclude us from committing sins that might otherwise incur Allah’s (awj) wrath and chastisement.
This coexistence of fear and hope in this world—the world of cultivation and striving which calls for being vigilant, for guarding the fruit [of our endeavours] so that we may benefit from them in the hereafter wherein there will be no need for caution as it is not the abode for cultivation and striving but that of harvesting—for ordinary people will lead to a serenity in the hereafter which will be free of any trace of fear and anguish. Fear alone will entail despondency, spiritlessness and depression. Hope and love alone will result in being deceived by our base spirits, in boldness toward Allah (awj) and sin. Thus neither of the results of fear or hope is desirable when taken individually and without being harnessed by the other.
🍃 Brief Answer
🍃 Detailed Answer
Fear, hope, and love are wijdani phenomena (i.e. they are experienced directly and intuitively and as such their comprehension does not rely on mental concepts or sensational experience) and thus are without need of being defined. The human being experiences fear when faced with certain issues, such as:
a. When his life, property, reputation, etc. are endangered;
b. When overwhelmed by the grandeur of something or somebody;
c. When he feels clueless regarding the outcome and repercussions of an action or his fate. Although, it must be noted that it is possible that in certain cases all these factors be present.
Likewise, the feeling of love and affection is evoked in response to certain factors, such as:
a. Finding certain attractive and beautiful aspects in the beloved such that one’s attraction to the beloved is the entailment of one’s fondness of the beauties that the beloved manifests. Traditional poets detest this love as being “in pursuit of the veneer” and thus he who nurtures this love is condemned to disrepute.
However, this is not a universal truth. If the beauties found in the beloved are passing, ephemeral, and superficial, the poet is correct. But, if the beauties and perfections that the beloved possesses are of the nature of moral values or if those beauties and perfections are existential and real ones, the resulting love would not be merely “pursuit of the veneer” and disreputable; rather its upshot would be harmony.
b. The feeling of dependence on and need of the object of affection such that one intends to exploit that object of affection in pursuing one’s aspirations. In this type of relationship, one is attracted to the object of affection for one’s own sake and not for the object’s sake.
c. The love that swells in one’s heart as the result of feeling indebted to one’s patron. In this relationship, the lover is attracted to the beloved as the result of the bounties and benevolence he has received from the beloved and as such is beholden to the beloved.
d. The beloved seeks the love of the lover and strives to captivate him in order to minister to the lover and to succour him. It is possible that more than one of the above categories be involved in one case of love.
If we examine the matter closely, we will notice that in all our actions and reactions fear, love, and hope are combined to various degrees. Although in some cases one of these factors might be the dominant and there is not always an equal balance, their coexistence is inevitable. However, this is one of the issues that is obscure to us due to its conspicuousness.
Hope and love impel us to action both in our daily activities and in the risky tasks we undertake. Fear on the other hand restrains us so as to exercise caution, to assess the repercussions of our actions and to prepare the adequate preliminaries. Had we been only equipped with love, we would be reckless, which would have entailed our early destruction. And had fear been unrivalled, we would never undertake any action even such mundane things as drinking and eating, for there is always the risk of a drop of water or a bite of food going down the wrong pipe, causing suffocation.
Therefore, there should be no confusion as to the coexistence of fear, hope, and love regarding Allah (awj). And if there is, it is only another sign of our obliviousness to self-knowledge and our psychic states.
To explain this further: The existence of fear, hope, and love with regard to Allah (awj) in different people is proportionate to their knowledge of Allah (awj) and His Attributes of Beauty and of Majesty, their knowledge of the true religion, their past conduct, and their assurance or lack of assurance regarding their future.
Those who are captivated by the magnificence and grandeur of the Truth or have in the past sinned and have dishonoured the Divine presence—in their case, fear overshadows love and hope. But on the other side of the spectrum are those who are entranced by Divine Beauty and Mercy. They have experienced the Divine graces and favours and have in the past been cautious of their conduct and have honoured the Divine presence and in instances where they did slip and commit sin, found the door back to Allah’s (awj) favour and forgiveness, seized it, and thus made a genuine repentance. In their case, love and hope overpower fear.
But finally there are those who are midway between the two previously mentioned positions. That is, they are not sure of their prior deeds being accepted and are thus afraid of their future and the possibility of not being delivered from Divine punishment and chastisement but at the same time hold hope in Allah’s (awj) forgiveness and generosity. In other words, their fear on the one hand and their hope and love on the other strike a balance [and so neither side weighs heavier].
The important point is that in most cases, fear and love arise from one’s innate self-interest and instinct of self-preservation. That is, most believers love Allah (awj) and have hope in Him due to their fear of Divine chastisement in the hereafter and the possibility of being deprived of Divine effusions, bounties, heavenly joys—the beautiful houris and the marvellous castles. But those who are enthralled by the beauty and perfection of Allah (awj) or are in awe of His magnificence, invincibility, and grandeur, or are affected by both, account only for a small number of the believers. Thus, with the exception of the prophets and the Imams (ع), those who have been able to achieve the latter stage have been very few.
Imam ‘Ali b. Abi Talib (ع) defines these three groups in his legacy of wisdom as follows: “One group worships Allah in hope of boons and benevolence - such is the worship of businessmen; another group worships him out of fear - such is the worship of slaves; and yet another group worships Allah out of gratitude - such is the worship of those who are free of themselves and of self-worship.”1
It is for this reason that some prominent scholars state that one of the fundamentals of Islamic pedagogy is love. The Noble Qur`an, the great source of Islamic morals, introduces love as the fulcrum of moral virtues. Imam Ja’far b. Muhammad as-Sadiq (ع) says, “Allah the Immaculate disciplined and trained his Prophet through love.”2
The topics of warning (takhwif) and encouragement (tashwiq) permeate the Qur`an and the narrations of the Ahlul Bayt (ع). However, these two principles are the final stage for the weak believers, but as for the intermediate believers, they constitute the means and the preliminary stage. The believer starts the journey, being spurred forth by warning and encouragement but gradually the compelling force transforms to love.
Hence one need not be confused regarding the coexistence of fear and love in relation to Allah (awj). This coexistence of fear and hope is necessary for the spiritual training, elevation and development of the human being. For fear prevents us from sinning, from bringing destruction to ourselves, and from incurring Divine wrath and chastisement, which in turn leads to greater humility and firmer obedience to Allah (awj). Love, on the other hand, compels one to undertake the obligatory rituals and the supererogatory prayers with enthusiasm and to hasten in achieving the means to Divine grace, mercy, and bounties.
In short, the fruit of the marriage of fear and hope in the human being are hastening to do good, to implant in oneself the moral virtues, and to avoid evil and sin, which constitute the ultimate goal of human creation intended by Allah (awj); that is, to paint ourselves with the colour of the Divine, attaining the station of Divine viceroyalty, reclining in the bounties of the hereafter, and to rid ourselves of all anxiety and anguish. And this has been expressed time and again in the Qur`an.3
Fear alone [uncoupled with hope and love] will entail gloominess, depression, hopelessness, neglect of repentance, and sinking into the whirlpool of sin, being overwhelmed with the misfortunes of this world and the hereafter, etc.
Love alone leads to impudence and shamelessness in committing sins with the false hope of repentance in the latter years of life, and unwarranted expectance of Divine grace and mercy, while one should not expect to benefit from Divine grace and mercy when one is neglectful of attaining those means which secure His grace and mercy.
It is in allusion to this point that Imam Husayn b. ‘Ali (ع) cries in his ‘Arafah Supplication saying, “May the eye of he who does not behold You watching over him be blind. And he to whom You have not apportioned some love will lose his asset of existence.”4
It is in the hereafter that we will reap the fruit of fear and love. There will be the abode of chastisement for those who did not respect this blessing or who lost hope in redemption, drowning in the whirlpool of sin, or whom were deceived and thus failed to prepare provisions for their eternal life. There will be the abode of blessing and peace, free of all forms of anxiety and fear for those who succeeded in keeping the balance of fear and hope, those who refrained from sin and prepared sufficient provisions of good deeds for their eternal life.

Reflections from Surah Kahaf - 7
What is the lesson in the story of the people of the cave? That if a person does not compromise with regard to his deen and trusts in Allah, seeking Allah’s help, asking Allah to correct the affairs, then Allah will open up such ways that you cannot even imagine.
Allah (SWT) helped the people of the cave with a miracle because they stayed true to their faith and didn't compromise between worldly desires and their commitment to their religion. When faced with the choice of choosing between temporary worldly gains or eternal rewards in the Hereafter, they chose the Hereafter. As a result, Allah (SWT) protected them by putting them into a deep sleep for years, and then awakening them when the danger had passed.
This event shows that if you prioritize your faith over worldly pursuits, Allah (SWT) can also bring miracles into your life. Holding onto your faith firmly can lead to miracles as Allah's blessings are limitless for those who remain steadfast in their religion.
When those boys left their city, they didn't know that they would be put to sleep for hundreds of years in that cave. They couldn't do it. It wasn't within their ability. Who did that for them? Allah did! Who saved them? Allah did! So, our part is to put in the effort, and Allah is the one who will protect and grant us success.
But what happens when we're young? What happens when we have the time? The world's temporary pleasures overpower us. So we need to come out of them; we need to worry about our faith, trust in Allah, and never compromise on what we believe in.

🌙✨ Seek His Nearness ✨🌙
"Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"If the human knew the pleasure of meeting Allah and being near Him, he would feel grief for being distant from Him.”
[al-Fawa'id | Pg. 119]
In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to get caught up in worldly pursuits, losing sight of the ultimate goal—the closeness to our Creator. Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله beautifully reminds us that if we truly understood the bliss of meeting Allah and being in His presence, we would yearn for it with every fiber of our being.
Let this poignant realization serve as a wake-up call, igniting a yearning deep within our hearts. Let it be the driving force that propels us towards a life dedicated to seeking His pleasure, to reconnecting with Him and finding solace in His love.
Take a moment to reflect on the distance that separates you from the Divine, and let it stir a sense of longing within you. Embrace the path of righteousness, seeking His forgiveness, mercy, and guidance. For it is through our sincere efforts and striving that we can bridge the gap and draw closer to our Creator.
May we all experience the sweetness of being close to Allah.
Ameen. 🤲

Here are five Islamic hadiths about happiness:
"Happiness is not that you should be loved by people, but that you should love people and help them to be happy." (Sahih Bukhari) This hadith emphasizes the importance of serving others and spreading happiness as a source of true happiness.
"The most beloved of actions to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are few." (Sahih Bukhari) This hadith suggest that consistency in good deeds, regardless of their size, will bring happiness, as it will bring one closer to Allah and the path of righteousness.
⭐⭐⭐"Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveller." (Sahih Bukhari) - This hadith encourages a sense of detachment from worldly pursuits and pleasures as a way to find true happiness, as it suggests that true happiness is not found in material possessions or temporary pleasures.
"Verily, Allah is happy with the servant who says: 'All praise is due to Allah,' when he takes a sip of water." (Sahih Bukhari) This hadith highlights the importance of gratitude as a source of happiness, reminding us that even the smallest pleasures in life can bring happiness when they are appreciated and attributed to Allah.
"When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." (Sahih Muslim) This hadith suggests that the happiness that comes from helping others, gaining and sharing knowledge, and raising a righteous child, will continue to benefit the deceased person in the afterlife, so it's a form of ongoing happiness.
These hadiths show that happiness in Islamic teachings is not only about feeling good, but also about serving others, being consistent in good deeds, being detached from worldly pleasures, being grateful, and leaving a positive impact on the world.

PODEVENT: INFLUENCE OF MUSLIMS
In a Hadith found in Sunan Abu Dawud, number 4297, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, warned that a day would soon come when other nations would attack the muslim nation and even though they would be great in number they would be deemed insignificant by the world. Allah, the Exalted, would remove the fear of muslims from the hearts’ of the other nations. This would occur because of the muslim nations love for the material world and their hatred for death.
The Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, were small in number yet, they overcame entire nations whereas the muslims today are greater in number yet, have no social or political influence in the world. This is because the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, lived their lives according to the teachings of Islam thereby, favouring and preparing for the hereafter over enjoying the lawful pleasures of this world. Whereas, most of the muslims today have adopted the opposite mind-set. It is important to understand that the root of all sins is the love of the material world. This is because any sin which is committed is done out of love and desire for it. The material world can be split into four aspects: fame, fortune, authority and one's social life, such as their relatives and friends. It is in the excess pursuit of these things which lead to sins, such as earning unlawful wealth out of love for fortune. It is why a Hadith found in Jami At Tirmidhi, number 2376, warns that love for wealth and authority is more destructive to one's faith than the destruction two hungry wolves would cause if they were let loose on a herd of sheep. Whenever people seek the excess of these aspects of the material world it always leads to disobedience of Allah, the Exalted. When this occurs the mercy of Allah, the Exalted, is removed which leads to nothing but trouble.
Even though, some muslims believe pursuing the excess things of the material world is harmless it is something the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against in many Hadiths such as the one found in Sahih Bukhari, number 3158. He warned that he did not fear poverty for muslims. What he feared was that muslims would pursue the excess of this material world, such as excess wealth, and this would cause them to compete with each other over it and this would lead to their destruction. As warned in this Hadith this was the attitude of the past nations.
As the material world is limited it is obvious that people would have to compete over it if they desired more than their necessities. This competition would cause them to adopt the characteristics which contradict the character of a true muslim, such as envy and enmity for others. They would stop caring for each other as they are too busy competing in gathering and hoarding the material world. And they would contradict the advice given in a Hadith found in Sahih Bukhari, number 6011, which advises that muslims should act like one body when any part of the body suffers from an illness the rest of the body shares in the pain. This competition would drive a muslim to stop loving for others what they love for themself which is a characteristic of a true believer according to a Hadith found in Jami At Tirmidhi, number 2515, as they desire to outdo their fellow muslims in worldly things. Persisting on this competition will cause a muslim to love, hate, give and withhold all for the sake of the material world instead of for the sake of Allah, the Exalted, which is an aspect of perfecting one's faith according to a Hadith found in Sunan Abu Dawud, number 4681. This competition is the difference between the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and many of the muslims today.
If muslims desire to regain the strength and influence Islam once had they must strive and prioritise preparing for the hereafter over striving for obtaining and hoarding the excess of this material world. This must occur from an individual level until it affects the whole nation.

10 Ways you can Overcome your Nafs (Commanding Soul)
1. Constant Purification
Increase in your worship acts and strive for obedience of Allah at all times. Follow His guidance through the teachings of the Quran and Hadith. You should prioritize with the compulsory acts such as five daily prayers, even as you try to pick up the supererogatory ones.
2. Conscious Awareness
Your nafs is conscious and as such you have control over decisions you make that will impact your daily life and the hereafter. Therefore be conscious of Allah at all times and make a choice to break free from the negative desires and inclinations.
3. Avoid Sins and Prohibitions
And always follow an evil thought, speech or act with a good one. You can achieve this through learning and seeking beneficial knowledge. In that way, you can sieve the truth from falsehood; and permissible acts from prohibitions.
4. Remember the Test of Temporal Life
This temporary life is a test and a preparation for the ultimate abode – the everlasting world and hereafter. Which then is more worthy of striving for?
5. Follow the Sunnah
In our beloved Prophet, we have the perfect example. So follow him and you won’t go wrong.
6. Think of Positive and Negative Effect of Every Action
For example, with the 5 daily prayers the benefits from physical to psychological bring serenity and a tranquil effect even beyond the prayers. While delaying/missing prayers due to laziness and negligence may bring about guilt, feeling of burden, regret, need to make excuses etc in addition to amassing sins.
7. Use your Time Wisely
Assess your time and accompanying deeds. And try to keep positively busy with rewarding acts. Do something for the Ummah without expecting a profit. Make it an investment for your hereafter.
8. Keep Good CompanyMind your environment and those you choose to stay around. Choose those who can help guard your creed and deen.
9. Purify your Acts through your Intention
Renew them as often as you can, centered on Allah’s pleasure and to earn paradise. Isn’t paradise and its wonders enough motivation to give up the instant gratifications for?
10. Make Dua
Make supplications for a sound and pure heart; one that is filled with Allah’s love but yearns for even more of Allah’s love. The heart can only become sound, achieve success, take pleasure, be satisfied, experience enjoyment, become pleased, attain serenity and calmness through the ibadah (worship) of its Lord; having love of Him and turning to Him (in repentance). Even if it were to attain every type of pleasure from creation, it will not acquire serenity and tranquillity. This is because the heart possess an intrinsic need for its Lord, since He is its deity, love and pursuit and with Allah the heart achieves joy, pleasure, delight, amenity, serenity and tranquillity. (Ibn Taimiyyah’s essay of Servitude)
