Anime Recs Pt 2
Any BL fan knows that sports anime is all about the homoerotic tension between the MC, his team players and his rivals 🤌🏼 trust this genre to serve in both aesthetics and feels - which means it deserves its own list! I tried to include a little bit of everything from hidden gems like Ryman’s Club to big hits like Haikyu. Most of these have 🌈 vibes if you squint (sometimes not that hard) with YoI being more intentional about it. And for those who love found family like me, you can’t go wrong with 1, 2 or 6. I hope everyone can get something for their tastes and find catharsis as they cheer for these pretty boys. This is the second part of my anime rec series, you can find the first list here. Enjoy!
1. Backflip!! 🤸🏻♂️
Summary: Shotaro Futaba loved sports, but was never good enough. But watching a group of gymnasts in the park and seeing them in a gymnastics tournament, he decides to join their school and become part of the gymnastic team. With new members, Shotaro and Ryoya Misato, the team aims for the upcoming Inter-High tournament.
2. Big Windup! ⚾️
Summary: The story follows the story of Ren Mihashi, a pitcher who was blamed by his middle school team for their string of losses, and as a result suffers from low self-esteem and transfers to a different high school. There, the school's first baseball team is being formed and Mihashi reluctantly joins as their Ace Pitcher.
3. Free! 🏊♂️
Summary: Free is set in the town of Iwatobi, Japan, which is based on Iwami, Tottori. The story is centered on high school student Haruka Nanase, a gifted swimmer. After encountering his childhood rival, Rin Matsuoka from Samezuka Academy, he and his friends revitalize Iwatobi High School's swim team.
4. Haikyu!! 🏐
Summary: Junior high school student, Shoyo Hinata, becomes obsessed with volleyball after catching a glimpse of Karasuno High School playing in the Nationals on TV. Of short stature himself, Hinata is inspired by a player the commentators nickname 'The Little Giant', Karasuno's short but talented wing spiker.
5. Kuroko no Basket 🏀
Summary: The story follows Kuroko's journey to success with his team, with most of the episodes being based around one or part of one challenging game, in which Kuroko and his teammates, most notably Taiga Kagami, perform plays and have short conversations with opposing players in the heat of the match.
6. Run with the Wind 🏃♂️
Summary: After abandoning competitive running back in high school, Kakeru Kurahara has no desire to return to the sport during his college years. But when an impromptu shoplifting-related sprint brings his talent to the attention of Haiji Kiyose, he soon finds himself wrapped up in an adventure he never imagined.
7. Salaryman’s Club 🏸
Summary: The story follows Mikoto Shiratori, a recently unemployed badminton prodigy who has the ability of foresight. After getting fired from Mitsuhoshi Banking for losing a match for their company sports badminton team, he gets recruited by Sunlight Beverage to play for their team and become a sales rep.
8. SK8 the Infinity 🛹
Summary: In Okinawa, a group of hardcore skaters participate in a secret, no-holds-barred competition after midnight known as "S", racing each other on skateboards down a winding road carved out of an abandoned mine. Reki, a high school sophomore and hardcore skater, takes new transfer student Langa to S one night, and ends up pulling him into the world of skateboarding.
9. Tsurune 🏹
Summary: Minato joins the Kazemai High School Archery Club and along with his old friends and new teammates, Nanao Kisaragi and Kaito Onogi, they aim for winning the prefectural tournament while trying to overcome their doubts and shortcomings.
10. Yuri!!! On ICE ⛸️
Summary: Japanese figure skater Yuri Katsuki faces a crushing defeat during the Grand Prix finals and heads home, unsure of whether or not he wishes to continue his skating career. After a video of Yuri mimicking Russian figure skater Victor Nikiforov's routine goes viral, Victor decided to become Yuri's coach, much to the dismay of his coach, his fans, and his fellow Russian skater Yuri Plisetsky.

Top 5 kisses of the year!
Oh friend, you know what I am ABOUT! I have so many opinions on kisses, I even have a spreadsheet with a detailed assessment rubric. If I'd kept up with that sheet even a little bit this year, I wouldn't have had to scrabble through my recollections to answer... but the scrabbling was fun, and also gave me an excuse to rewatch some choice scenes.
Before I answer (you knew this wasn't going to be short), some general thoughts on what makes a really great drama kiss. Physicality is important: the lips, the hands, the eye contact, the way both bodies express desire and the pull to be closer. But a really great kiss is also full of emotional context and narrative meaning. It's as much an expression of character as any other actions or words. It shows who these people are to each other in this moment, and it lets us see the individuality of their desires and feelings.
The really great kiss scenes usually also come after a buildup of tension, releasing like a musical chord resolving. A kiss that I have been dying to see will hit so much harder than an equally sensual kiss with an established couple that does it all the time, or with a pair I've just seen meet. That's not a knock against established couple kisses or lust-at-first-sight kisses: I enjoy both, a lot. But the kisses that really make an impression, that make my chest ache and leave me thinking about them for days, tend to be Big Moments.
So here you go, my top 5 BL kisses of 2023.
Step by Step car makeout

Step by Step might have been a letdown, but Pat and Jeng's chemistry never faltered. This car makeout, after having to spend a day in the office trying to keep up a professional front, holds some of the most raw, frenzied desire we've gotten this year. The way they look at each other, the way they grab for each other, it's blazingly good. And the thing that makes this a standout scene for me: in their groping and grappling, they hit the car horn, stop and laugh about it, and then keep kissing. One of my kissing scene peeves is when any small interruption brings the scene to an end, as if a spell has been broken and they've been reverted to normal not-kissing people. I punched the air when Pat and Jeng stopped for a minute and then got right back into it, like two people who really want to be kissing each other should do.
I Cannot Reach You infirmary kiss

Now we go to the opposite end of the sensuality spectrum. This kiss was short and gentle in comparison to every other kiss on this list, but the narrative impact is profound. I Cannot Reach You is only the second BL I've seen to put direct focus on the physical intimacy side of a friends-to-lovers story, where sexual desire appears as an unsettling element in the friendship that both parties need to wrestle with in their own way. This kiss shows the resolution of that struggle, the mutual acceptance and mutual desire. Yamato is not holding himself back any more and Kakeru is fully accepting and reflecting his desire. And while it's not the most involved kiss, the sensuality is absolutely there: the softness of the lips, the cradling of Kakeru's face, the hands! Gorgeous.

Aof Noppharnach knows how to build a goddamn moment. Not for nothing is he the architect of the top-rated kiss on my spreadsheet (yes, it's the one you think.) This is the perfect example of a kiss as character and story work, a kiss that has a distinct narrative role, a kiss that's physically distinctive and suited to the moment the characters are in. Day has just been kissed out of pity and is despairing that that's the only feeling he can evoke in others; Mok has spent weeks realizing how much he wants Day even as he watches Day move away from him and toward someone else. Mok needed to kiss Day aggressively in this moment, and Day needed to feel that desire aimed at him, and we the audience needed a release from the agonies we'd been feeling for both of them all episode long.

Whew... what is there even to say? The buildup to this one was extraordinary, the romance of it unparalleled. Gorgeous, gorgeous scene. Also this is a good place to mention that kissing in the rain is good. Kissing in the rain is always very good. I've been known to give bonus points for other environmental elements too, but rain will always score big.
This list hasn't been ranked thus far - all four of these kisses are wonderful in such different ways, and I didn't want to take the time to actually fill out my rubric to get a numerical score for each of them (maybe I will after I post.) But the last is unquestionably #1 for me: it's the one I knew right away was going on the list, the best kiss scene of 2023 and one of the best of all time.

In all my talk about narrative weight and character, let it not be thought that I don't care about the physicality and the sensuality. Boy do I, and boy did this scene deliver! These boys want each other intensely, and every element of the scene made me feel that right down to my toes. It's the way they touch each other, the way they look at each other, the way their mouths move. There's an editing choice that I adore, perfectly conveying the escalation from first exploratory kisses to heated passion. And then the way they stop, because Patts recognizes that Tai would regret going further in this moment, as fired-up as he is right now. This kiss scene says so much about who they both are and how they feel about each other, and it does it while delivering a fire I still feel after [mumblemumble] rewatches.

Sure, happy Christmas Eve! 😄
Kinji wasn’t a huge fan of parties, especially ones on Christmas or Christmas Eve, when every child at the orphanage was hyper and restless. However, he knew the holiday was about celebrating and spending time with those most dear to him, and his classmates even set the party early to give him time to check on the kids later tonight.
He made idle chatter with his classmates, who welcomed him with open arms. Kinji mostly talked with you, Kanata, and Kakeru, but the four of you had challenged yourselves to try to be a bit more social.
As Rei asked him to leave her alone, he complied, wishing her a happy holiday, to which she hesitantly murmured it back. She may have been pushing him away, but Rei was slowly warming up to everyone. Kinji wished he could say the same about Utsuro, who stubbornly declined Yamato’s offers of hot cocoa, and brushed you off every time you tried to make conversation.
Giving up, you grabbed a cup of hot cocoa that Akane had made, and as you noticed Kinji across the room, you grabbed one for him, too.
Kinji didn’t dress up for the holidays outside of wearing a hat or a sweater for the orphanage children. You on the other hand practically glowed from the Christmas tree lights on your sweater, and he was able to spot you almost immediately.
He accepted the cup with a grateful nod,
“Thank you, Y/n. Your thoughtfulness is admirable.”
“It’s no problem! I needed to grab one before Yamato added too many marshmallows to them all, anyway.”
“I believe Mikako is already trying to prevent this…issue.” He sighed, and sure enough, you could hear Mikako giving her brother an earful.
“How has your night been?”
“Uneventful, yet enjoyable nonetheless.” He replied, before getting cut off by Satsuki’s impatient voice.
“Hey! Can Kinji-kun and Y/n-chan hurry up!? It’s almost Satsuki and Kobazing’s turn!”
Her voice drew everyone’s attention, and you didn’t even notice what she meant before Kanata pointed above you, with Kakeru looking too red on your behalf to even move.
The moment you spotted the mistletoe, you weren’t much redder than he was. Kinji seemed puzzled at your flustered state, and gazed back up at the plant in oblivion.
“I believe this is some kind of tradition… forgive me, but I’m not sure I recall-“
“…We have to kiss.” You blurted out.
He was quiet for a few moments, and if you weren’t so embarrassed yourself, you might’ve noticed the pink blush on his cheeks.
“Would you… be alright with that?”
“…”
Oh god, he was going to make you admit it. Damn his consideration for what you want!!
You slowly nodded, before feeling the warm peck of his lips against your cheek.
Kinji was a bit confused as to why Satsuki was booing, and why his classmates looked a bit disappointed. The two of you weren’t a couple, and even if he did favor your company above all else, he couldn’t force you to kiss him over a tradition.
As he began to move away, he felt a light tug on his sleeve.
“…? Apologies, Y/n, if the kiss made you-“
“Can you do it again? Um, can we? I mean… on the lips this time?” You stammered. Even Utsuro and Rei were probably watching this spectacle. Mitch and Teruya tried to start a chant, but Mikako shushed them.
Kinji was silent, before he… smiled, and even seemed to chuckle a bit. For a moment, you thought he was laughing at you, but then he cupped your cheek and your lips connected.
Clutching the hot cocoa with one hand and holding him with the other, you wondered how the night could possibly get any better.

Friends to Lovers Tournament: Round 1, Side B, Match 17

Chrobin:
Imagine finding a stranger on the ground, picking them up, and saying 'you are one of us now!' That's Chrobin for you! Chrom quite literally found Robin laying in a field unconscious and decided to bring them along on his little routine mission but one thing leads to another and Chrom is never without Robin. The two fight off medieval zombies, travel the continent, suffer and heal together as their story goes on. The core of Robin and Chrom's relationship is their friendship but the game gives you the option to have them get married and wow, Chrobin real!!! I could ramble about their tragedy or their silliness but it all leads back to their friendship and how they stick together no matter what life and death throws at them. In a later game in the series their souls are imprinted together in an ancient weapon. What's more romantic than being a powerful magical bracelet together?
KohaAi:
first of all they were online friends before their introduction to the game where they lost contact with each other after a while. they first met in real life after moving into the idol dorms where they met by chance. aira, meeting kohaku for the first time, LITERALLY CALLED HIM PRETTY AND WHEN HE WOKE UP IN THE MORNING, HE THOUGHT HE WAS DREAMING BECAUSE OF HOW PRETTY HE THOUGHT KOHAKU WAS. and they also think each other's names (and each other) are beautiful! theres also the fact they love each other's company and hang out just with just the two of them all the time (and theyre each other's first person to hang out with). theres even an official 4-koma where theyre basically going out on a date for crepes and boba and kohaku's cousin, tsukasa, steals his boba and kohaku WALKS OUT OF FRAME HOLDING AIRA'S HAND. FOR WHAT REASON !!! not to mention theres an official scout story where they had to act romantically together for a job and didn't even act any different and the director was like yup! perfect! that was romantic! and i will never recover. theyve shared food together, they like getting gifts for each other, and always believe theyve got each others backs. kohaku also canonically is very weak to aira. aira wanted kohaku to do a dance trend with him and he thought it was embarrassing but then aira started pouted and kohaku was like NOOOOO I CANT SAY NO TO THAT FACE. and speaking of aira's face, kohaku has CANONICALLY admitted that he loves seeing aira's happy faces and even referred to him as "a special person" (translated) using a term meant for people you really love, and usually is in regards to lovers ! and last but certainly not least, the yoru ni kakeru cover they did with their units! their lines were:
Both: Even so, someday we'll surely, we'll understand each other
Kohaku: I believe that
Aira: In the troubling days, I became unable to smile
Kohaku: You are truly beautiful in my eyes

Being In A Fake Relationship With The Kōdo Ikusei Senior High Boys
Day Two of The Underrated And The Unwritten
Notes: I'm so excited to write for this fandom! I honestly loved the anime and think the plot is so cool.
Warnings: kinda dark themes? like mentions of what normally happens in the anime
Characters involved: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Kakeru Ryūen, Yosuke Hirata, Sudo Ken
Gender-neutral reader
Kiyotaka Ayanokoji
Pretending to be in a relationship with you certainly wasn't Ayanokoji's first choice. If anything, he would rather not have to exert so much energy trying to be romantically involved with someone.
However, since the relationship benefits him in some way or another, he chooses to keep up the act and pretend to like you.
You are none the wiser and don't even realise that the relationship could be faked. Since he's always so reclused it's easy for you to brush off his lack of physical affection.
This plays to his advantage since even wrapping his arm around your waist is seen as a sign of affection on his part, making it easier for him to pretend to be attracted to you.
When you're in a relationship with him, Kiyotaka will do everything to ensure you never catch on to his real feelings. He'll plan occasional dates and even pace himself to be more and more affectionate to you over time.
If you do catch onto his real feelings then he isn't afraid to switch to manipulation and other such tactics to get his way.
He'll be nice until you force him not to be (aka cause problems and don't listen).
When it comes to PDA Kiyotaka doesn't really care. He will do anything to make people believe what he wants them to. This includes kissing you in public if needed.
He isn't really the type to get jealous or possessive but he doesn't like it when things don't go how he planned so he would be quick to intervene if he thinks someone could steal you away.
Kakeru Ryuen
Kakeru doesn't have very strong morals which is why he isn't opposed to play dirty to get his way. This includes pretending to be in a relationship with you.
He isn't afraid to use threats or manipulation to get his way, but if you already like him then he would leverage that.
Kakeru can be pretty possessive regardless of the fact that you're not actually dating. He's the type of person who can be pretty possessive over their partner which is why he would use the excuse of being realistic to ensure no one else so much as looked at you.
He can also be pretty big on PDA, and uses the excuse of keeping it real to tease you quite a bit.
Most of the people in his class probably know that you're not actually dating, but even then they don't do anything about it or try to talk Kakeru out of forcing the fake dating on you.
He probably didn't just fake date you for ulterior motives and actually likes you but chooses to use this situation to be able to have you as his, even if it's fake.
Perhaps, he might even get what he wants and have you fall for him too.
Sudo Ken
It was your idea. Or forced upon the two of you. There is no other way that Sudo would actually get into a fake relationship.
He probably got into trouble again and Ayanokoji came up with the idea of having him be in a relationship with you as proof that he couldn't have done whatever the other party claimed.
Sudo wouldn't be nearly as bold or natural as the others, mainly because unlike them he really doesn't have an ulterior motive and was as oblivious as you.
You would probably have to take the lead with the whole relationship and with the help of Ayanokoji and the others, you would set up things like dates or hold his hand during class.
Kudo can get flustered quite easily, but once he gets a little used to it, he can be pretty good at the whole relationship thing. He's kind but also knows when not to be and can be a pretty good boyfriend.
The only one where the two of you could end up together without a toxic start.

Ayakane;
-jesus christ ayame stop swinging your girlfriend around in circles she is DIZZY
-they cuddle a LOT.
-akane has a habit of beating herself up over little things. Ayame hugs her and kisses her and praises her to combat it.
-akane cheers for ayame at every race!
-when ayame had to retire due to the issue with her hamstring, akane did everything in her power to cheer her up. (She even offered to save up money so Ayame could get a surgery)
Terurei;
-teruya has many nicknames for rei, including; "mekamei(combination of Mekaru and Rei)", "my darling owl", "my beautiful goddess", "teddybear", and "honeybun".
-rei just calls him "Otori". Even though they've been married for a year and a half.(she does think of him as her incompetent, though)
-teruya shows his love with llloooots of gifts. Rei shows it by cuddling up to him and falling asleep on him.(he didnt realize this until post-marriage.) (Before they started dating, she would fall asleep against him, and that was the best way she could show affection)
-he proposed to her at the foundation beach party.
I have so many others but ive posted them before so.
Tsurei;
-divorced
-rei carries around a bag of pistachio shells to throw at him.
-they were dating because rei had fallen in love (briefly) and tsurugi was reminded of yuki via her short hair.
-they hate eachother now
Kinjomae;
-tsurugi isnt typically one for nicknames, but he does call yuki(dra ofc) "carrotcake" and "pumpkin"
-tsurugi still blames himself. He will never stop blaming himself.
Soruko;
-cuddles. Lots of cuddles.
-as soon as yoruko was able to get into contact with a sora(via computer), she just spilled everything.
-when sora was able to get a robotic body, yoruko jumped into her arms and almost started crying.
-sora does all the cooking. Yoruko cant cook.
Kakenata;
-both of them have a hard time saying that they love eachother.
-Kanata is the one who tells the worker that kakeru asked for no pickles.
-they hold hands :3
Ryudori;
-most affectionate thing they can do is hug eachother. Kissing? Absolutely not. hand holding? Illegal.
-after keisuke nearly shot Midori, ryutaro became really clingy and wouldnt stop checking in on her.
-minako had to force them to tell eachother that they loved the other, because she was getting second hand embarassment.

I love Fruits Basket and all, and it’s even entered my top 10 anime of all time, but there were so many missed opportunities to have LGBTQ representation, especially since they forced many of the characters into straight relationships. Yeah you could make the argument that “it was a different time” when the manga was first made, but Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, two other 90s shojo manga, had openly queer characters, so that argument doesn’t hold much water.
If I were in charge of Fruits Basket, here’s how I could incorporate queer representation
Arisa and Saki become girlfriends. It is extremely obvious that they like each other (and Tohru), and I felt as if Arisa and Kureno's relationship didn’t get much development (not to mention the age gap)
Ritsu is transfem. The fact that they made her (yes I use she/her for Ritsu) stop dressing like a woman made me so angry, since Ritsu was legitimately happy presenting as feminine. You could at least make Ritsu still be GNC.
Speaking of GNC, I’m also annoyed that they made Momiji stop being feminine when he grew up. In my universe, Momiji would still be feminine when he got a growth spurt.
I would put Yuki with Kakeru. I personally liked their dynamic much better than that of Yuki and Machi.

You like to think that the man enjoyed watching films with you. . . just not horror, you suppose. The thought makes you laugh a bit. Regardless, you lean your head against his shoulder, listening to the sounds of his gentle breathing as the movie reaches its high.
You slowly inched your fingers alongside the side of his hand, nervously yet silently catching his attention. He looks to your side for a fleeting moment, a tinge of red smearing across the front of his cheek as his sharp inhale is masked by the loud noise of screaming.
Clearing his throat, he brings his hand to overlap yours, letting his fingers fill in the cracks of yours. He notes that you feel warm underneath his touch. As if he was surprised by his thoughts, he finds himself feeling the tinge of butterflies within his stomach, a sense that he found rather enjoyable. When it came to spending time with you, he enjoys the sensation of being by your side. Even when it gets uncomfortable or inconvenient holding hands in the busy streets, or trying to choose the right movie at night, he likes the littlest parts of you that no one else gets to see.
Parts that he finds oh so enjoyable to see. Memories of wiping away the small bits of whipped cream from your lips, the sight of your smile lighting up every room that you walk into. The mundane images of you wiping away at the chalkboard with a hop to your steps, the way your knees bend to the natural call of the wind, dancing away in your little song. His heart flutters in ways that you couldn’t comprehend, and yet despite its confusing nature, he loves you.
So he leans his head against yours, wrapping you close with a blanket as you bring yourself closer to him, your nose brushing against his chest. Your mind drifts off into the dark, comfortable abyss as your eyes fill with darkness. Yanagi brings his hand to comb through your slightly messy hair, letting you sleep in his presence, as he basks in your warmth.
𝟐. 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐈𝐌:
You never actually noticed how often he stared at the space on your forehead. At first, you thought it was a silent insult or cry that you had a big head, but a part of you thinks that perhaps there is more to it than what you originally thought. And as much as Hori wishes to convince you that it's your massive forehead, you beg to differ. With those bright pink eyes of his, how could he ever think of something bad of you? Right? He wouldn’t think anything about your forehead? It’s not big like Hori said. Someone isn’t going to carve your skull, right?! You swiftly brought your hand up to cover your exposed skin, feeling nervous and anxious about it.
Hori and Ayasaki laugh it off, teasing you for being so shy over something that you couldn’t change. Huffing your cheeks you turn away from them with a pout, not before rolling your eyes at them. Kouno only waves her hand to the side, trying to comfort you by saying that if you were to have a big forehead, Yanagi wouldn’t say or mind it whatsoever, and those thoughts leave you wondering if he wanted to say something about it.
The green-haired girl chuckles before opening one of her books to show you a scene, one that depicted two people, their foreheads touching each other with the main protagonist nervously closing her eyes. Kouno tells you that you can ask or gesture for Yanagi to give you one, but you squeal and push yourself off of your seat, having enough of this conversation.
Pressing your hands to your blushing cheeks you shake your head. Walking out of the classroom with the girls teasingly cheering you on you lightly slap yourself. There's no way you’re getting worked up over something so small! You’re part of the student council president after all! If anyone has a big forehead it's Ishikawa! Gritting your teeth, too focused on your thoughts, you accidentally bump into someone’s chest. You groan in response before profusely apologizing, your eyes looking up to see a familiar pink gaze.
“Akane. . .” You shyly back away from him, a string of apologies leaving your lips like an overflowing river. You bring your hand to cover your forehead as you turn away from his eyes, “S-Sorry for that, you’re not hurt or anything are you?”
He laughs, “Why would I get hurt? It wasn’t too bad, what got you riled up? Is it something I did?! W-Why are you covering your forehead? Did I hurt you instead?!” You awkwardly stared up at him with one hand to the side, your cheeks puffing up slightly as you pouted. You were the one supposed to apologize for bumping into him, but typical Yanagi fashion to start worrying about you instead. Fighting the blush that was creeping on your face you shake your head.
“A-Ah. . . then is there something wrong? Nothing happened to your forehead, right?” He raises his hand to press against the back of yours, your eyes widening in response as you felt him lean a bit closer. Calling his name softly you notice the way he would slowly peel your fingers away from the skin, letting a cool rush of his breath linger along the surface. Now you could feel the heat of your cheeks burning. You closed your eyes as you felt his lips press themselves against your forehead, a soft gesture that left you raising your head slowly, seeing a small glimpse of his smile as he leans against you.
“I heard that a kiss could heal wounds, did I do that?”
You did more than you would have thought, you said to yourself, sinking into his touch as he brings his arms around you. How silly it was for you to get so worked up over something like this. . .

Favorite Childhood Book: oh man ... there are a lot, but probably ella enchanted. i think the author (gail carson levine)'s writing craft book for youths, writing magic, is the first one i ever read. i was looking it over again recently and a lot of the advice holds up!
Currently Reading: nothing actively? i'm in-between longfics, and i haven't opened an actual printed novel in a while. but i just got island of the blue dolphins and a bunch of manga about being nonbinary from the library, so maybe those ... eventually. (though last time i did borrow like 3 books and hold them for 3 months and then return them all unread oops).
Currently Watching: oho, a bunch, as always. i'm watching guardian, i'm like two episodes from the end and so so scared about it. i'm following dungeon meshi as it airs, and following along vaguely with warumono-san and a sign of affection. i'm also working my way through joker game, which i am liking soooooo much, wow, the episodes are like, vignettes following different spies from the same group. no over-arching plot (other than like, world war two lmao) has really appeared yet. oh and i'm sloooowly watching spy x family season 2 with a friend.
Currently Consuming: nothing, but i just ate sooooooo much rotini pasta :3 and i might make sotteok sotteok once i wash my pan out

Yeah, she sometimes speaks without thinking, leading her to accidentally admit you're scary looking, but she rushes to comfort you. She'll never call you stupid, but might assume that you don't know things.
She's terrified of spiders, but thinks other insects are cool, especially moths and butterflies
Her and her brother used to capture fireflies as kids, so holding and looking at them with you always brings her a sense of nostalgia

Like a mouse?
Heeyoo... long time no see. I did get questions about bl stories I like watching. So, I'll write one soon guys! I proooomise!
Again, Yuki Sohma is my baby. I like him, he's my mouse! Squeaky cutie!
So enjoyyy and also warning spoilers alert!
Student Council duties are in utmost priority. He missed a lot of free time with Tohru Honda and the rest of the Sohma family. Kyo constantly tackled him to duels, which are futile and worthy in competing, yet the other would not stop being so degrading.
Yuki wanted to have a day off, at least today. Hence, Machi agreed to sort out the duties in the clash of drama club practice and basketball practice. This is something he already fixed and it's their duty to initiate while he could relax in the room letting his head sink.
The door opened, Yuki had no energy to lift his head, but he he let out a muffled question, "You guys back already?"
"Nope, just me Yun-Yun".
A groan slipped from the rat's lips. He lifted his head to see Kakeru grinning like a mischievous Cheshire cat.
"Manabe... what is it?"
Scoffing, he placed the two cups of coffee on the desk in front of him. "Rude also... I came here to accompany you ice princess"
Ice princess?
Yuki blinked in irritation "um what?"
Kakeru shrugged. "First of all, you're cold as ice... It's hard to think you ever lighten up except being polite to fangirls, kouhais, and senpais (upper-classmen and underclassmen)..." he stated rather scientifically."Then my second analysis, you are pretty cute and effeminate like a princess... so that ends my observatory report,"
Yuki's left eyebrow twitch, but then he felt light in heart, though he answered a little rigidly, "Honestly Manabe, sometimes I wonder how serious you can be,"
Kakeru gave a smirk "Well Yun-Yun, I'm serious when I need to be... buuut..."
Kakeru leaned forward to get a good look at Yuki's face as if he wanted to study something. Yuki stepped back from leaning against the desk when this happened "w-what?"
"I never seen you laugh before... not the fake princely and elegant chuckles you give... the real deal, dear friend"
Yuki sighed, resting his elbow on the desk as his palm rested on his chin, unable to understand the latter. "Are you always this incohesive?"
Kakeru huffed. "You better watch it, pal. I'm gonna make you laugh till you squeal like a girl!"
Yuki felt a shudder now "I'd rather not participate in such-"
"Look at this!"
Yuki stared at the odd face Kakeru made, smudging his cheeks, rolling his eyes. It was genuinely hilarious, but Yuki had his pride to hold. He shook his head. "If you think that's gonna make anyone laugh, then you already lost"
Kakeru was hyped, excited for a challenge. "I see... so you're that stubborn type,"
Kakeru almost broke Yuki with the impersonations of Nao and Machi... Yuki had to giggle at the final one where he mimicked Nao losing his mind, squatting so low to exaggerate his height.
"Ah gotcha! You giggled!"
Yuki's light smile dropped now "I did not..."
"To think I managed to make you titter is a great achievement, still... I guess I should use my trump card now..."
Yuki had no time to react. He may be stronger, but Yuki wasn't on guard when Kakeru tackled him to the ground.
"Hey w-what the?"
"Tickle attack!"
Yuki suddenly felt the touch of fingers at his sides. He snapped his lips shut with a gasp. Kakeru was now interested. "Oh? What was tha5 Yun-yun? Are you struggling with something to say?
Yuki shook his head, feeling the fingers crawl up to his armpits, which he tried to hide. In all honesty, he felt himself break a little, "G-gah! Ma...manabe s-stohop!"
Kakeru heard it. "Another adorable giggle... wait, wait, wait... you can make noise like that??? So cute!"
So much for strength in martial arts. He was too weak to flip their positions. Yuki yelped when Kakeru slid his fingers down to his ribs, but just stayed there digging into the ribs as if he feeling them. "What ahare you doing, idiot?"
"Oh? Hold on... hold on. " Kakeru's taunting tone infuriated Yuki, he whined under his lips, striving to hide his sensitive ribs."Yuki~ I think... I....found... -IT!"
With that, Kakeru prodded the back of his ribs mercilessly, and Yuki broke immediately into sweet lovely giggles. "Nohohoho! Mahahaha...Mahahanaabeee! Stohohop, ihihit!"
"Finally breaking that resolve of yours... You sure have a cute smile..." but when Kakeru wiggled his fingers properly Yuki squeaked loudly and curled to the side.
Kakeru was shocked. "W-wait... did you just squeak?"
Yuki blushed immediately more form embarrassment "Ahahahaha stohop! Mahaha...AHAHA GAHAHAD KAHAHAKERUUU!"
Kakeru almost wavered when Yuke yelled his name. He felt a flutter of happiness when Yuki begged like a child, giggling and squeaking so endearingly.
"Like a mouse? Oh, you are cuter than that!" Kakeru cooed now firmly gripping his hips, getting kore effective sqeals and squeaks.
"YOHOHOHOU WIHIHIN! STAHAHAHAP IHIHIT, PLEHEHEHEASE!" Yuki began to get wild and squirmy, Kakeru knew he had to limit it
"YOHOHOHO WIHIHIN!!!!"
Kakeru, after an eternity, let Yuki go, who curled up to more begging and giggles.
The mouse turned to him with a glared, but the residual giggles trembled from his lips.
'Whahhat wahas that fohor?"
"I felt like breaking your walls... sorry ... you were too cute,"
Kakeru mumbled when a warm smile, Yuki flushed red, seeing Kakeru slightly and equally shy. Yuki growled. "Cut it out, I'm not cute..."
Unless Yuki misunderstood Kakeru's current mood, he didn't know what happened to Kakeru now. Looking now, he noticed the other guy latching his fingers to his sides. Yuki let out a startled squeak, making Kakeru snicker. "Quit it!"
"Aren't you adorable-!"
"AHHHRGH!"
The suddent shriek was from behind as Kakeru had his wrists tugging at Yuki's above his head. The situation from the outside looked weird to Nao, Kimi, and Machi, who stared with surprise.
Yuki blushed harder. "Ihits not what you guys think!" Kakeru got off and laughed nervously."Chibi! Hey, we were just playing-"
"I HAD IT! IM SURROUNDED BY IMBECILES!"
Yuki didn't know how to explain the situation. Yet he looked at Kakeru and then smiled fondly. Maybe he could lighten his ice barriers once in a while with him.

Welcome back to “Translating NORN9”, where I translate NORN9 content!
Today I’m going to translate the Hiyoko Page. As a bit of trivia, all of the Hiyokos share thier VAs with the main characters
The Hiyokos living in Norn
These hiyokos take care of the personal belongings of those who board the Norn. However, no one knows their identities.
Pu Hiyoko
Voiced by: Takuya Sato (Masamune’s VA)
Pu Hiyoko has no particular role and always sits outside relaxing. He is dazed as if he doesn't care if he is thrown.
Maid Hiyoko
Voiced by: Ayumi Fujimura (Koharu's VA)
A solid Hiyoko who is good at cleaning rooms. When the bath is ready, she may come directly to notify the passenger.
Captain Hiyoko
Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita (Ron's VA)
A Hiyoko piloting a Norn. With a scar on his forehead, wearing goggles and holding a cigar, he has a wild vibe.
