DIY all-natural hair serum for frizzy hair

This is the type of hair nutrition. It contains the ingredient that reduces frizz and improves hair health. You will have smoother and healthier hair with your own product.

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon organic jojoba oil • 1 tablespoon of olive oil • 10-12 drops of organic lavender essential oil • 6 drops of peppermint essential oil

The process:

• Put all ingredients in the indicated quantity in a bottle.

• Shake the bottle gently and repeatedly.

• It is ready for use.

DIY hair serum for hair growth

If you have longer and thicker hair, you no longer have to search for the best hair remedy recipe. The ingredients are rich enough for a transformation of the hair. So let’s do that.

Ingredients:

The process:

• Pour the jojoba oil, Jamaican castor oil and grapeseed oil into the glass bottle.

• Add all the essential oils in succession. Follow the number of drops listed below the ingredients.

• Shake the bottle.

• It is ready for use.

DIY hair serum for frizzy hair

Do you know hair serum can help to get frizzy hair? If you do that, should you know that you make a hair serum yourself at home?

Ingredients:

The process:

• Add the specified amount of aloe vera gel to the blender.

• Add rose water, coconut oil and vitamin E and mix.

• Pour the mixture into a disc-top bottle with a funnel after a few seconds.

• Add 12 drops of jasmine oil to the bottle.

• Shake the bottle for mixing.

• You can now use this hair serum on wet, washed hair.

DIY hair straightening serum

Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons of fractionated coconut oil • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil • 2 tablespoons olive oil • 1 tablespoon of soy • 5 drops of essential jasmine oil

The process:

• Use the funnel to transfer the oils to the glass bottle.

• Add 5 drops of essential jasmine oil.

• Close the bottle and shake to mix the contents.

• The serum is now ready for use.

DIY hair serum for oily hair

Option 1

Grapeseed oil is light and “dry”. It will not make the hair too greasy.

Ingredients:

The process:

• Pour the hemp oil, grape seed oil and watermelon oil into the bottle.

• Put essential oils with the right amount of drops.

• Add all other ingredients.

• Close the bottle and shake it.

• You can now use your homemade hair serum.

Option 2

Other ingredients can be used to help oily hair. Use this second option often, and your scalp will be free of infection.

Ingredients:

• 4 tablespoons lemon juice • some peppermint • 4 drops of Geranium essential oils • 4 tablespoons of coconut oil • 4 tablespoons jojoba oil

The process:

• Mix the ingredients in a bottle and shake.

• Use the serum strictly on the hair and scalp.

DIY hair serum for natural hair

Ingredients:

The process:

• Fill the bottle with thistle oil, JBCO, avocado oil and pomegranate seed oil.

• Add all the essential oils one after the other in the amount indicated under ingredients.

• Close and shake the bottle.

• It is finished.

DIY hair serum for dry hair

This is when you want to achieve results from their best side. Keep the hair moisturized and nourished. The ingredients are well researched and certainly provide health benefits.

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon of castor oil • 1 ounce avocado oil • 3 ounces of almond oil • 8 drops of lavender essential oil • 7 drops of sandalwood essential oil

The process:

• Put the almond oil, avocado oil and castor oil in a bottle.

• Add the essential oils sandalwood and lavender.

• Add the other ingredients and close the bottle.

• Shake the bottle.

Welcome to 2018 with me! Thank you for letting me live my dream life & helping me see my dreams in totally different way! We brought in the New Year quietly, but surrounded by good friends, warm energy, and a few drinks that landed me with a hangover that I haven’t had in years.

Let’s move on to the content of the day, shall we?

In 2017, I signed up for Ipsy after becoming obsessed with doing my own unboxing, being gifted a Benefit mascara from someone else’s Ipsy bag, and realizing that I don’t know anything about make-up or brands and that I was always nervous to spend $17 on a liquid lipstick that I would hate, or that wouldn’t last all day, or whatever.

I heard that you could sign up for Ipsy for only $10 a month and you’d get FIVE sample size beauty products + a cute pouch every single month. And GIRL, let me tell you, I found some of my new fave beauty products this way and have even gone on to buy other products and find some of my favorite brands this way!

So today, I wanted to share some of my fave Ipsy GlamBag finds!

First of all, let’s talk about my fave glam bags so far.

So every month, your five products come in these adorable pouches (perfect for make-up!) I usually have three or four in my purse at a time. I use one for on the go make-up, one for tampons, one for the cords to my camera, one for hair bands and chapstick. They are the perfect purse sized accessory.

My two faves so far are this Admit One ticket (perfect for a theatre nerd like me) and this sunny side up egg Gudetama pouch. This melting sunny side up egg is my spirit animals most mornings.

So there’s a bunch of different categories you can select from, but I have mine set as face (make-up/foundation/lips/eyes/etc.), skin care (masks, toners, scrubs, etc.) and hair care (oils, leave in conditioner, dry shampoo). There’s bunch of categories where you can select what type of products you’re interested in trying.

Face

Caked Lip Fondant in Color: Low Key

I am obsessed with this color/liquid lip. It dries matte, smells like cupcakes, and has REALLY low transfer of color but with super high pigment. I even went on to buy this lip magic in two additional colors, and even have a few others in my cart. 10/10 I’ve been wearing this non-stop since May. I’m literally wearing this as I type right now.

Benefit – They’re Real Mascara

This was what actually introduced me to Ipsy in the first place. I usually have a tough time with mascara to the point where I usually NEVER wore it. I thought it added such a minimal difference to my face for SO much extra hassle, ugh. But during a show I was doing, my darling friend, Cassidy, gave me her Benefit They’re Real mascara from her Ipsy bag and I became OBSESSED! And then, miracle of miracles, one came in my December bag so I’m set for at least a little while longer! 10/10 my fave mascara. I also bought the full sized of this!

Glamour Dolls X Lisa Frank

Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Eyeshadow in Stargazing or Heartthrob is AMAZING. First of all, the packaging was ALL of the things my nostalgic, 90’s girl heart needed from Lisa Frank. But second of all, I am obsessed with the color. It’s this deep copper/bronze-y color with some definite color. It’s not TOO intense but it definitely adds another layer. I literally haven’t worn eyeshadow in my day to day life since….never? I used to wear glitter on my lids in college but that was about it.

TARTE Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer

This bronzer is a total game changer. I love it. I sort of get why people pay an arm and a leg for the brand. It’s matte, it lays so clean, and it doesn’t make me look orange in the least. It’s the perfect bronzer. I always find that grabbing bronzers makes me look streaky or weird – but this one helps matte out my foundation, is waterproof (and smear proof!), and has a slight shimmer in it.

Hair

BRIOGEO HAIR Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

The product is smells SO good and left my hair feeling super soft and silky. This is another one that I’ve bought the whole product of. It’s very mild, but it does help with some serious tangling, gets rid of flyaways and split ends and is perfect to throw in before bed on damp hair for a treatment!

MARC ANTHONY – Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Oil Treatment

This is a great oil treatment. It seriously is reparative, not too greasy or slimy, helps me get rid of frizz (which my curly hair always needs) and I use it when I put my hair up or into braids to prevent breakage and to keep it smooth!

SKINFOOD Egg White Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam

This product was a total throwback to slumber parties when we used to mix egg whites with a bunch of other goop in the kitchen to get really tight pores and this lives up to the hype! It’s a cleansing foam, as opposed to the slumber party masks, but it gives that same tight pore feeling.

PROMISE ORGANIC – Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub with Walnuts and Sugar

This is an amazing facial scrub. I have super sensitive skin and it’s perfect. When I use the scrub, it really makes my face soft and clean feeling. I tend to get bothered by facial scrubs – but this one is very moisturizing and not harsh at all! And bonus: not a heavy smell.

FEEL – Brilliant Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask

This mask makes my face feel so clean and refreshed and lovely. I love a good mask because they make me feel so fancy in only one item. I always like to listen to some good music, put a mask on, and turn the heat up. This one is not goopy or weird in anyway!

Eyebrows

BENEFIT COSMETICS – gimme brow volumizing fiber gel

CHELLA – Eyebrow Pencil in Beautiful Blonde and Elegant Ebony

As a girl who absolutely had never done her eyebrows before May of this year, these two products are blonde eyebrow game changers. Makes them look more defined and exciting! That fiber gel helps give me volume (which my blonde eyebrows desperately needed) and the taupe Chella pencil is the perfect tool for someone who is figuring out eyebrows or someone who wants precision eyebrows.

How to get great hair fast – a hair blogger’s confession

Want to know my secret to getting out the door fast with hair so good people will ask: “where did you have it done?”

As a hair blogger, you’d think I spend a lot of time on my hair.

Think again.

Here’s what my normal morning looks like:

Hit snooze on my alarm…

Hit snooze on my alarm for a third time.

Husband elbows me in the back and tells me to turn my alarm off completely.

I totally oversleep and still find it hard to get out of bed. Plus I’d rather spend 5 more minutes there than on my hair.

With only a few minutes to get ready, there’s no time to wash my hair or even attempt any complicated heat styling.

After many mornings like this of practice, I’ve got fast hairstyles down to a fine art.

I’m going to let you in on my best hair hacks and tips. There’s a new hairstyle video tutorial for you below too.

How to style your hair in a rush

When I need to get out the door fast, here’s exactly what I do:

I reach for some of my tried and tested favourite Schwarzkopf hair products and attempt a style I’ve done before.

So that’s tip number 1:

If you’re reading this and you have five minutes to get out the door, try a style you’re familiar with.

However, if you’ve only hit snooze twice, maybe you can give this one a try (my step-by-step tutorial is below).

You might want to practise this once or twice first, then it will easily join your everyday fast hair-drobe.

Pinterest Fails

If you’ve ever tried a popular Pinterest hairstyle and failed, I might know why.

It’s probably because the stylists already have perfectly prepped hair to start with.

I know.

I’ve done it myself.

Behind the scenes – hair blogger confessions

Often when I create my hairstyle tutorials for you, I blow dry my hair and curl it so that it looks good before I begin and the finished style looks perfect.

That braid only took 3 mins, but I may have spent about 137 minutes getting ready first.

I don’t mean to mislead you, it’s just…

…those hairstyles always get more likes on Instagram.

But let’s be real:

When I’m not in front of the camera, my hair is far from perfect.

Keeping it real

So to show you exactly what it could look like in your hair, I’m starting with this hair:

This is my real hair.

It’s my three-day-old curly hair that’s been slept in and is an absolute mess.

It’s frizzy. It’s also a bit knotty.

I hope this gives you the courage to try my tutorial knowing that your hair can’t look much worse than this.

Hair hack #1 – fight the frizz

My first trick is to deal with the frizz, and product is key.

I reach for my favourite Schwarzkopf BB cream.

I love oils and serums to tame fuzzy flyaways, but the frizz that I’ve got in my hair at the moment is because my hair is dry.

This BB cream is water-based and it helps hydrate my hair and control the frizz.

If you’ve just got some light flyaways, an oil or serum will work really well. If you’re trying to tame some really tangled hair, the BB cream is perfect. The Extra Care Leave In Treatment is also excellent to treat and tame.

For good measure, I am also going to use my Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy leave-in treatment spray.

I am pretty much obsessed with this product, and use it on dry and wet hair all the time.

And don’t worry if you’ve got fine hair.

This doesn’t leave any build up or feel greasy on your hair.

On normal hair, it’s enough to treat your dry ends. But for me, I need the BB cream as well.

Once I’ve started to tame what’s there and have twisted a few curls into place at the front, it’s time to style.

Hair hack #2 – Prep tip for clean hair

If you’re better organised than me and are trying this style in clean hair, I have an alternative product tip.

Instead of taming your hair, you want to prep it to hold an updo. Clean hair has a reputation for making braids fall out quickly.

You can still use the Fibre Therapy spray (did I mention I’m obsessed with it?), but then use the Schwarzkopf Extra Care Body & Texture Styling Foundation.

If your hair always falls out of updos and refuses to stay in place, you need this product.

It adds grip and texture to your hair.

Best of all, it’s not stiff and can be brushed out and restyled again.

You can also reach for the Volume Powder that I use later on the braid. It will pep up any flat roots and give your hair incredible texture.

Why did I choose this hairstyle?

I could just go for a regular bun, but I’m going to add in a braid detail.

The beauty of this is that the detail of the braid will take the focus away from the rest of my frizz.

The extra detail also softens the bun style, which often can look a little harsh or plain on its own.

How to get the look – Quick and easy braid hairstyle

What you’ll need:

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy leave-in treatment spray

Schwarzkopf BB cream / Extra Care Leave In Treatment (or Schwarzkopf Extra Care Styling Foundation)

Hair elastic

Bobby Pins

Schwarzkopf Volume Powder

Schwarzkopf Hairspray

Step-by-step tutorial

Once your hair is prepped and under control, you can start styling.

Create a deep side part. It only needs to be a short part as this is the start of the braid.

Pick up a section of hair near the part and split in into three. This is a Dutch braid so it’s like a French braid but in the reverse. Instead of crossing over, you’re crossing the sections under.

Cross the left piece under the middle, and then the right piece under the left. Then on the next cross, pick up a section of hair to add in to your braid. Repeat on the right, adding in a section of hair into the braid.

Continue the Dutch braid, following your hairline. As you reach the top of your ear, stop adding in hair and finish in a regular plait/braid.

Secure the end of your braid with a pin or hair elastic to hold it in place while you do the bun.

Gather the rest of your hair into a low, side ponytail. Loosen your hair above the elastic to give more volume to the style.

To create the bun, split your ponytail into three, loop each section around your fingers and pin it in place. Then stretch out the loops to create a rounder bun.

Now to add the detail that everyone will ask you about – my secret trick is the Schwarzkopf Volume Powder. I sprinkle this down the centre of my braid and pat it in gently. This is a super fine powder that turns to liquid like magic. In dark hair it’s still completely invisible.

Then the magic continues when you stretch out your braid. Even superfine hair looks ten times thicker with this volume powder and your braid will stay in place.

Once your braid is really stretched out, wrap it over and around your bun. Tuck the ends underneath and pin it in place with a bobby pin.

If you’ve got a really long day ahead, I love the Schwarzkopf Body & Texture Hairspray to make sure that my hair stays exactly where I want it.

Styling tips

Now, depending on how long and thick your hair is, there are a few ways to do this bun:

If you have long hair, you can just twist it around into a regular bun and if you’ve got fine hair, you might want to create more sections to really stretch out your hair and make it look full. Whatever you do, this should really only take a minute.

If you have layers:

You can use the Volume Powder to disguise them. Tap a little bit of powder onto the layers and tuck them back in to the braid or bun. They should stick back in place.

Two quick hairspray hacks from my video

Spray a little bit of the hairspray on your palms to smooth down any small flyaways or baby hairs.

Spray a small brush to grab any of those delicate baby hairs around your hairline or on your neck to incorporate them into your style.

Now you’ve got Pinterest-worthy hair in under five minutes.

Add a bright lipstick and no one will know that you slept through your alarm!

I hope you like this quick hairstyle tutorial. I can’t believe I showed you my really really messy hair, but I wanted to show how it can be easily transformed with a couple of great products and a simple style.
