I think my first fic back is gonna be about what I think would have happened if the magic didn’t return following the rebuild of Casita. The family all have little occupations relating to their gifts (Julieta and Isabela kinda work together, for example, because she has a physician style occupation and the two of them come up with herbal remedies and things to help ailments) and I think exploring the family’s relationships now they have more time for each other will be so much fun. Also, a new little Madrigal is on the way which is exciting 👀

If you’re still taking prompts:
The triplets doing something at the same time in true creepy triplet fashion
Always open to prompts! The only time I'm not is if the ask box is closed 😁 (And I promise to announce if that's ever the case)
Tumblr media
The triplets didn't often do things at the same time, but when they did it was noticeable. It could be downright eerie.
The first instance Mirabel noticed was when Antonio dropped a plate. Thankfully, the plate didn't break, but all three triplets looked up at the exact same time, standing up in tandem and even had the same concerned looks on their faces. For the first time, Mirabel noticed a true resemblance between her mother, aunt and uncle.
But it was only a small thing. Easy to brush off.
However, those little moments kept piling up and up. Only Abuela, Félix and Agustín didn't seem to notice. Meanwhile, the Madrigal kids were all increasingly aware of the "weird triplet thing" and unnerved whenever it happened.
It was weird. How could three separate people, who were all so different, be so in sync?
Another time was when Camilo was starting a water balloon fight. He and Mirabel tip-toed into the garden. The triplets were sitting on the back steps.
Without even turning around, the three of them said, "Don't even think about it."
"How did you know!?" Camilo demanded. He looked as freaked out as Mirabel felt.
It was even weirder when Julieta, Bruno and Pepa turned to face them at the exact same time.
"We know," they said flatly. It was getting ridiculous.
"Knock it off," Mirabel said, tense as a spring.
Julieta's smile was so sweet it verged on openly mocking. "Knock what off, mija?" she asked. She was clearly biting back laughter.
"That!" Mirabel pointed between them. "The weird triplet thing!"
"You're gonna have to clarify," Bruno said, hands clasped and shoulders back in an impression of Abuela. "We do a lot of weird triplet things."
"You keep doing things at the same time," Camilo said, gripping one of the water balloons so tightly that Mirabel was surprised it didn't pop. "And saying things at the same time!"
The triplets looked at each other, eyebrows raised. They shrugged, only further proving the point.
"Eh," Pepa said. "We don't even notice anymore."
"It's weird," Camilo said.
"I think it's sweet," Julieta said, nose in the air.
With an outright mischievous grin, Bruno added; "It's a triplet thing. You wouldn't get it."
Mirabel threw her water balloon, but Bruno ducked, laughing at her. It sailed harmlessly overhead, bursting on the grass. Casita rattled and Mirabel knew the house was laughing at her and Camilo too.

A little note for the ones that love to say that Pepa is “abusive”.
Tumblr media
Wait, there’s more.. (this supports my own headcanon about Pepa’s anger towards Bruno. plus the fact that “rain on a wedding day” in Latin American cultures is scene as bad luck for the marriage. I’d cause a hurricane too.)
Tumblr media
Have your headcanons, but you can not say that she does not care about her family (Especially her own children!) when there is evidence within the movie to prove that she does. Pepa never intends on hurting anyone no matter how hostile her weather can get due to her emotional state.
It reminds me when people in my own life have villianized me and others for simply having strong emotions, it’s extremely toxic and just teaches us that “emotions are bad” or women shouldn’t be taken seriously because we’re “oh so emotional and hysterical.”
I’m not saying you HAVE to like Pepa as a character, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, likes, and dislikes but it bothers me when so many fans discredit her as being a good mother, sister or overall human being simply for human reactions and emotions.

Bruno has always hated haircuts. When he returns to the family after 10 long years of neglecting his hair, it must be taken care of whether he likes it or not.

Part two of the cursed gifts.
TW: implyed self-injury.
CW: injuries, body horror(?)
Here comes Julieta. She's being stuck in a endless cycle of being hurt and getting healed immediately. Her body is getting a huge (deathly) damage out of nowhere and then heals it immediately before it could actually kill her, then does it again. The damage is equal for all injuries she healed in 45 years. Her food is still working, but any new injuries will be added in the loop of her hurting.
Pepa: her body is getting a shield out of lightning which hurts every time she moves or to anyone who's touching her. The lighters around her body is partly depriving her on touching because the pain drowns out her sensory feelings. Also her emotions are causing weather way stronger then before. What before was a cloud over her head now would be a storm all over Encanto.
Bruno: (thanks to @cuteasatinycupcake for inspiration) He's constantly getting visions. He's unable to see the present, his vision is always jumping somewhere in the future. At sone point he starts to see many things in once, all from the different time in the future. It leads him to so much despair that he actually tries to blind himself so just he would stop seeing twenty things at once. Luckily, Agústin intervened before Bruno got to his second eye.

Encantober - Casita
Tumblr media
The lesser seen backside of Casita. I always liked how the shape of the house looked like the first gen family standing together, so I tried to reflect that here 😊
A picture book my kiddos have says that Mirabel likes to swing from the big strong tree on Casita's back patio.
Also, I only just noticed that behind Isabela's flowers, the top of the tower is blue 💙

Triplet stretches~ 💙💛💚
I'm very proud of the way these turned out! Really focused on capturing the differences in their body types while also honoring their similarities as triplets/siblings (freckles~). They also have things like stretch marks and body hair.

Oooh!
Top 5 headcanons about the Triplets 🥺 (pre and/or post canon)
Ohhh I had to think a bit about this one but in the end I just wrote down what came to mind first, hope that's alright
1.
Everyone assumes Bruno is the scary triplet and if not him definitely Pepa. But it's actually Julieta. Pepa is as well, but in a loud way ("heard you were talking smack about my brother, how about I smack you around a little, eh?") . But Julieta's scary creeps up on you. She will hand you a snack and say "Let bygones be bygones. Here, a special recipe, just for you" and she will smile but something about that smile is wrong and when you hesitate she will be like "Go on. EAT IT!" just smiling smiling smiling... Your days are numbered.
2.
They meet up at least once a week very early in the morning for some coffee or tea to just gossip a little and lament the antics of their kids/rats (looking at your sketch @glitternightingale
3.
Pepa and Bruno are the gremlins. Julieta is long suffering. That's been the dynamic in their childhood and that's their dynamic as 50 years olds
4.
Pepa has never really liked the rats but one time when they were little Bruno lost one of them and he'd been inconsolable and crying for hours and it had been the worst day of Pepas life seeing Bruno so desolate. Thankfully the rat came back (it had just fallen asleep after raiding Julis pantry and couldn't be seen from the door) and despite her dislike she had sworn that day that she would always keep watch over them as well! She never wanted to see her brother so sad again
5.
Julieta and Pepa have a little fun, friendly rivalry going who's husband is the better husband, more attentive and more sweet. Agustin and Felix know and are more than happy spoiling them a little to get ahead in the competition

La Familia Madrigal, Part 2. Pepa, Julieta, Bruno, Mirabel (Part 1 here) “My Tia Pepa, her mood affects the weather. When she's unhappy, well, the temperature gets weird. My Tio Bruno, - we don't talk about Bruno! They say he saw the future, one day he disappeared. Oh, and that's my mom Julieta, here's her deal. The truth is, she can heal you with a meal.”
