Words of the Day
cathartic/catharsis:
Inducing catharsis; purgative.
A purifying or figurative cleansing of the emotions, especially pity and fear, described by Aristotle as an effect of tragic drama on its audience.
A release of emotional tension, as after an overwhelming experience, that restores or refreshes the spirit. (*this one*)
impromptu:
Prompted by the occasion rather than being planned in advance.
Spoken, performed, done, or composed with little or no preparation; extemporaneous.
With little or no preparation; extemporaneously.
promenade:
A leisurely walk, especially one taken in a public place as a social activity.
A public place for such walking.
A formal dance; a ball
~~~~
I often feel a sense of catharsis but I always forget the word to describe it. I'm always feeling cathartic and calling it lethargic 🤣😅
Did you know that 'prom' was short for 'promenade'?..........it is. I promenade on the High Line every now and then.
