 RQG requests #11, FUNKY LITTLE DRAGON GENDER GUYS!!!! thank you so much for your prompt!! i’d never sat to think about their individual designs before this, and as much as i prefer to plan beforehand, it felt great to just doodle and build them as i went! this is pretty much exactly the result and vibe i wanted, so i’m very happy with this one. it’s really cute! they’re all so cute!!!!! character design is great!!

 going from top to bottom we have meerk, draal and driaak, natun and tadyka, sassraa at the center, and our guy skraak on the front. what absolute lads.

  behind her and stepping towards the left is natun. they're small and reach to about sassraa's chest. they're leaning forwards and have syringe spear on their right hand, and are wearing plain leather armor on their torso. they have a shorter, snubby snout, small horns that curl like a ram's, and two sets of ear fins, which give them a more aquatic look. they have an attentive, eager face and look younger than the rest.

   above them is draal. they're wearing a fur-lined, dark brown coat and are holding a fang on their right hand, holding it in front of their face with a big grin. their horns and fins are sharp and short, pointing backwards in spikes.

   opposite natun is tadyka. she's a slim, lanky kobold, standing with a bit of a stoop. they're holding a syringe spear in both claws, in front of them. she has a long, less angular snout, and her fins are split into two horizontally. they have plain leather armor. her horns are short and slightly curved forwards.

   above her and opposite draal is driaak. they're as tall as draal, and are also wearing a fur-lined coat for the cold. theirs is white with light brown fur, anf they're a dark maroon rather than red. their horns are very small, and their fins are wider towards the top. they're stepping forwards and have a left claw up to their eyes, looking into the distance with a cheery smile.

   behind them all is meerk. his body is facing right but he is yelling upwards, sticking his tongue with a grin out and holding drumsticks on each claw. they have a black headband around their heard, spiky bracelets on their right arm, dark gray gloves, and a shiny leather vest. they're bright red, their fins are short and spiky, and their horns are shaped like lightning bolts. his tail pokes out from behind draal in a curl, and the tip of it is a small spiky ball, like a morning star. end ID]

 RQG requests #25, IDIOT 20-SOMETHINGS!!! i’m not going to lie, this request Was a little intimidating because i had no idea how to make this funny or channel their twenty-somethingness in any way so i- ahem. had to unearth some memories from high school where, uh. chocolate milk with rum was a thing? and it was cursèd but people made it anyway and it was kind of a meme so. um. here they are. enjoy ¿?

 in all seriousness, i fucking love this one. i think the fuckin faces and scribbles are on point, honestly. they’re all just SO no thoughts head empty. i love them. it’s been done for weeks and i still giggle whenever i see it. i relate to this holder-of-the-braincell grizzop but like, that was me at 16 to my classmates. yeah.

 anyway, i imagine that, after getting all fixed up, sasha Would be pretty down to do weird shit just because she’s alive. i love her. it’s what she deserves. i miss season 3

 RQG requests #31! i was actually unsure about how to go about this one because i didn’t want to do something too literal and boring, but i also have trouble connecting with zolf and wilde. surprisingly, it didn’t take that long to think of something that felt both very me, and very them, so here it is! sometimes you just gotta get a little silly to make a drawing work. i’m very happy with these! despite how messy they look, they didn’t really need any fixing. thank you for your request! enjoy! <3

 RQG request #12, a very sweet one. thanks so much for your prompt. i’m actually surprised i didn’t go with sasha the knife fairy (which i sincerely think is a severly underrated line) since doing something about the visitations kind of intimidated me! so i let this one sit for a while and then it just sort of came out of me. the lineart on its own is sincerely very nice, and i was nervous about over-rendering it with the colors, but... i think it’s a lovely result. i’m very happy about the faces. i think they’re all the emotions i wanted. look at cel and yuuko. i might never be able to top that tenderness.

  also, i love my design for feryn, so having the excuse to bust him out was great.

 i made this one in very separated stages but it came together in a very satisfactory way with the very last handful of requests. it’s not exactly what i’d hoped, but it’s pretty damn close. i was looking for the vibe storyboard artists have when drawing scenes just for the hell of it? whether i got it or not, i’m really happy with the result, especially since i made the bulk of the lineart in the midst of not having drawn proper figures for like two months. i also really love the faces. even now i still get weird when doing an all-digital piece, so this is a good reminder that letting loose and stop pretending are great measures to trust my gut and get things done. thank you for this request! <3

  RQG requests #5 & #6, because not one, but TWO anons asked for cel and barnes, and i think these make for a lovely pair! one of the requests was for them on the bear specifically, so of Course i had to draw the moment of The Line in eat, drink and be merry. if that could be the start of their relationship, i thought it would be sweet to pair it up with an anniversary at sea, after the end. they had 30 years ♥

  this one got reaally messy cause i used a very inky permanent marker that didn’t interact too well with the wash. i was about to leave it like that because the feel was still there, but i wanted zolf’s expression to be clear, so i did some cleaning and touching up in post, and boy howdy, that sure was an experience. it wasn’t the first time i did that, but something about turning the fixit layer on and off and comparing was really wild for this piece in particular. crazy to think that at some point drawing over a traditional piece digitally or fixing them in any way was assumed to be cheating. you’re always the one doing the drawing. how could that ever be cheating? i’m glad we’ve moved past that. this one communicates the scene much better thanks to that little bit of sharpening.

 thank you for this request, i needed it. i had to fix sasha’s face a bit in post so it looked like an actual kiss, but i really like the mix of digital and traditional here. also, i am cursed with the space pals special because ALL i could think of when working on this very heartfelt piece was alex saying ‘’now, if someone were to be climbed LIKE a tree...’’ and then the chorus of ‘’HHHOT’’. please release me from this hell.
