i couldn't not make an encanto animatic from this scene from The Gay Deceivers (1969). sadly, i don't have a better quality copy on hand (everything was filmed & edited on tektak) so to prove that i made it, here are some stills:
also for some reason, t/umblr couldn't open any link to the video (believe me, i tried everything), so just copy this instead: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSdXLmMbG/?k=1
EDIT: THANK GOD MY FRIEND SAVED A COPY FOR ME DHJSHDKS THANK YOUUU 馃槶馃槶馃槶
fun fact: this was my very first animatic too (/^v^)/
Forgot yesterday was Batman day. But when I woke up this morning my half asleep brain came up with the idea of having Batman and Robin perform the Marigold scene from the 1969 film The Gay Deceivers.
the gay deceivers was the funniest movie i've ever seen. it had everything. flamboyant queers. repressed homoerotic longing. the tackiest home decor you can imagine. lying. dodging the draft. endless queer joy. straight guys trapping themselves in misery for no reason instead of embracing authenticity and change. there was only one bed. queerer than a three dollar bill. i may not know my flowers but i know a bitch when i see one. flawless
it came out 4 days after the stonewall riots and a gay man (michael greer) who featured in the film was apart of the directing process to make the lines not homophobic or anti gay
it鈥檚 a really funny comedy about guys dodging the draft and the gay scene in the 60s
There's something very heartwarming about how Malcom refers to himself and Craig as married. We all know gay marriage wouldn't be legal for some thirty odd years but they're still life partners, they live together, they presumably stay together for the rest of their lives. They're married! And they say it!
I'm gonna go insane I came across a TikTok that was talking about a gay fun fact about the 1969 film "The Gay Deceivers" and there is like NO fanfiction for it WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ???
