I think my actual greatest Bad Batch fear is that Echo will die in a sacrificial way to save a bunch of clones on Tantiss or elsewhere and Rex will be there and he’ll hold Echo as he dies, just like how he held Fives.

HELLO I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FRIEND OF COURSE YOU CAN REQUEST THAT. For you, I would rewrite the declaration of independance to give Owls the power to make decisions for America <3 As always you are so lovely and encouraging, and I don't know where I would be without you and Tech in a speedo!

Prompt: Spring Cleaning Pairings/Group: 99 and the Domino Babies

"You can't keep everything!" Echo squeaks to his , crossing his arms firmly. "We have to make room for some of the new cadets coming in!"

"Aw leave him alone, Echo!" Fives rolls his eyes. He slings the rag he was using to wipe the nearby window over his shoulder and sighs."It's bad enough we have to clean up every single corner of our barrack! We don't need you nagging us too!"

"No he's right!" Another cadet chimed in, peering over the corner of his bunk. "The quicker we all get done, the quicker we can go back to the training room and work on some target practice!"

Hevy snorts as he tosses some papers into the nearby trash bin."You mean you can work on some target practice Droidbat." He puffs out his chest proudly. "I have the highest score out of our entire batch-"

"Yeah and the lowest IQ!" Cut-Up snorts, leaning back in his chair. "They are all right though, Vod." Cut-Up turns to 99."We do have to get rid of some things. You have that whole trunk full of things, 99." He reaches into the chest and pulls out a picture, smiling."Who is that?" He asks, holding up the photo to reveal a group of your troopers.

99 smiles, taking the photo gently. "That was my batch." He shows them, pointing to himself in the center. "See? There I was when I was about your age." He sighs. "That was a long, long time ago though." He chuckles, placing the photo in the 'keep' pile. "This whole trunk is full of very important things if I need to." He glances over it all, feeling slightly overwhelmed. "It's just going to be a bit hard to part with all of this stuff. It's important to me."

"Aw don't listen to them 99!" Fives asks, peering over Cut-Up's shoulder."I think its cool to have stuff! All we have in our trunks is our stupid gear."

"And the cool paper dolls you make us, 99!" Droidbait chimes in, hopping down from the top bunk. "Those are very important to us!"

"Well I am glad to hear that." 99 chuckles, ruffling the cadets hair. He sighs, rubbing a hand over his balding head."I just always find it hard to let go of things." He pulls out a small envelope from the box and smiles. "This is a letter from one of your older brothers I received when the war first started. Now he is a famous captain in the 501st, working alongside jedi and troopers alike!"

"That's going to be us one day!" Droidbait takes the letter slowly, wide eyed. "To think this has actually traveled across the galaxy and right to you!" He whispers, reading it to himself."Can I take this to the archive later and read up about the planets he mentions?" He looks up at 99 eagerly. "I promise I will give it back!"

"Of course you can." 99 chuckles. He reaches into the trunk once more. "And this here is a small stuffie that another brother from the 104th had sent to me when they first landed on Coruscant!" He takes out the small purple tooka, hugging it. "Extra soft!" He hands it over to Hevy.

"This thing its… kinda cute." Hevy's tough guy facade falls, as he pets the stuffed animal slowly. "It is soft!" He grins, holding it to his chest. "Can I keep this little guy with me in my bunk tonight?"

99 nods, digging through another layer in his trunk. "I think you will enjoy this, Cut-Up." he smiles, pulling out a small recorder. "This has some music by Max Rebo." he hands over the device to the eager cadet. "Just be careful and don't hit that X button there or you will delete the whole recording."

"Gee thanks 99!" Cut-Up immediately presses the play button. "I heard the trainers talk about this stuff once! I like it!" He laughs, swaying his hips from side to side. "Catchy!"

"I knew you would like it." 99 chuckles.

Fives reaches in and takes out a small black bag."Whats this?" he asks, unzipping the bag slowly. He takes out a pair of tweezers. "Is this a torture kit?" He asks eagerly, pinching the ends of the tweezers onto Echo's arm.

"Ouch! That hurt!" Echo jerks away, pushing Fives. "Its a grooming kit you idiot! Standard issue!" he growls, rubbing his arm. "That's going to leave a mark!"

Fives turns to 99."But you don't need a grooming kit! You are bald, vod!" He blurts out.

99 bursts into laughter. "Yes, I suppose I am." He runs his hand over his head once more. "Would you like to keep it safe for me, Fives?" he asks, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye.

"Thank you 99!" Fives clutches the bag to his chest. "It will be great for grooming my mustache."

"Fives you don't have a mustache!" Echo rolls his eyes, sighing. "Is that an old regs manual?" he asks, looking in the bottom of the trunk. "Wow it is! And its-"

"First edition that was ever put out for us troopers!" 99 hands it over to Echo. "And I think it would be perfect for you!" He smiles, watching the eager boy bury his nose in the book. "I remember the day we got those handed out to us." he sighs.

Hevy wanders back over to the trunk and smiles, looking down into it. "Well hey! It looks like you did get rid of some things after all, 99!" he claps his hand. "I think we can call it a day and go grab a bite to eat in the Mess, eh boys?"The others nod in agreement and stand up.

"Are you coming?" Fives asks, turning to 99.

"You boys go ahead." 99 shoos them, waving a hand. "I think I am going to go through all of this a little more." He looks down at the chest and smiles.

A Month of Whump Day 7: Angst

Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Summary: Echo's with the Domino squad and with the Bad Batch.

Echo looked around the Marauder. Wrecker, Cutup, and Fives sat together. They got along well. The three loved jokes and making people smile. They were loveable idiots.

Hunter told stories of the batch's missions to Droidbait. He seemed entertained. Every now and again Tech would add some unnecessary detail. Typically the detail was rather laughed about or there would be an awkward silence.

Crosshair tolerated Hevy. Secretly Echo thought the two were friends rather Cross would say so or not. The nine would sit together in the mess hall on Kamino. They smiled and talked most of the time. Of course the regs hated all of them so it was something they could all bond over.

Going back to the barracks the group finally split. Echo layied down on his bed and told the batch goodnight. He fell asleep happily.

Then Hunter woke him up and reality hit him like a brick. There was no Tapioca city, there was no Domino squad, and Crosshair was probably in a similar situation he had been in. The Republic was dead and so we're the jedi. The three he had been close to were young and so was the senator.

The war had been over for over a year now. All he had left was the batch and the men he now fought beside to save the others.

"What Hunter?" Echo asked.

"It's time to go." Hunter walked away to wake up the others.

Echo sat up and not long after they landed. The Five walked off the ship unsure what was next for them. All they knew was that Crosshair was inside. Echo knew he couldn't have his dream world but maybe he could get closer. Just maybe they could all be a happy family again.

Domino Headcanon Time, Hoes

I am working on a fic for this post but it wont be out for a while because I have a dumb dumb idiot baby brain and will focus on it way more than anything else.

so in the meantime, here are alot of headcanons about the Domino Squad some of these are sad

Domino age order from oldest to youngest: Hevy, Fives, Echo, Cutup, Droidbait

Domino squad is an actual defect squad where as the bad batch was made to have their 'defects'

because they were defects none of their chips worked the way the were supposed to

Hevy isnt good at spelling. He's not allowed to send out any reports without someone proof reading them for him.

Fives is the motherhen of the group. Hes the only one who can safely get inbetween Hevy and Echo when their arguements go a little too far.

Echo was considered the runt of the batch, and was often watched for decommisioning. It was constantly held over his head, which is why he became obsessed with the rules. If he could follow their rules and hit all the bench marks then they would have no reason to decommission him.

Cutup loves music but has absolutely no musical talent. This does not stop him from screeching lyrics to the galaxies most popular songs across the base.

Droidbait is often left behind on accident, he has been left in the mess hall more times than he can count.

Hevy and Echos relationship wasnt always rocky. At one point they were pretty close but after the multiple decomming scares, Echo pulled away to make it easier for Hevy if anything happened.

Echo didnt choose his name, he didnt like it at all but the rest of the squad made sure that he never had the chance to introduce himself so he was stuck with what they had named him. In the end, he kept it because he saw it as the one and only gift he had left from his batchmates.

Outside of missions, Fives went silent for months after the citadel and the only person who could get him to talk was Rex.

Droidbait insists on going by db because its 'less embarassing'

Cutup was the only one to embrace their squads differences. He would would practically hold an open mic night on any other cadets who would pick at them.

the cadets around Kamino will often tell one another about the "Fall of the Dominos" about how three died heros but were never spoken of again and how the two survivors went insane from grief and one lost his mind while the other lost his body.

Hevy use to steal pudding cups for Droidbait when they were cadets. he never had a reason to do it he just would.

theres a dent in one of the walls in their pod room and no one really knows how it got dented (Hevy Kyled the wall)

Echo has spiral curls that he purposefully keeps buzzed down because otherwise Cutup would start playing with them

This is a pretty common headcanon for Fives but theres too much evidence behind it, Fives shows affection through boardline violence, he gave Cutup a concussion once after an overly affectionate headbutt. Droidbait has multiple bruises on his arms from loving punches. Hevy got shoved into Sergeant O'Niner once and was given cleaning duty for a week that he forced Fives to do with him. During their 501st days he got a little too touchy with Echo and he started fighting back and ended up chasing Fives to Rex's office on multiple occassions.

and yes i do think Fives and Echo are pod twins, its another reason why Echo was watched for decommisioning.
