It was quiet as Changmin was doing his daily tasks as an angel up in heaven; making sure that his mentees were finishing their own assignments, watching the meter that represented the balance of the world between chaos and purity, along with keeping track of everyone’s actions. It was hard for a leader of a group of angels to be sure that everything was kept in the way that it should’ve been, however, he was grateful that he had his siblings that were up there with him to help assist with the burden.
There was one evening that he found himself going into the human world, wanting to explore the realm to see if things were any different from what he remembers when he once was like that millennia ago. It was the hour of two in the morning and he knew that the streets of the familiar city of Seoul were quiet, but still illuminated by the billboard lights; something that he had yet to take in until the very moment.
His eyes trail over the quietness of the city, admiring the peacefulness of it and starts to walk down the streets to see where his feet would take him today. From what he realizes is that he was heading towards the direction of the infamous Han River nearby, already noticing the familiar shapes of what he has remembered from back then.
Untouched, but more beautiful than the last.
He walks over towards the side of the river in silence, smiling to himself as he could feel life radiate around him knowing that there were some auras that he recognized before he sent their souls into reincarnation. It wasn’t until he stops in his tracks that an odd feeling distracts him from his original thoughts, making him turn around to face a figure that he knew all too expectantly. The sight of the familiar figure made his heart tug just a bit knowing that there could only be two reasons that they could appear, and it wasn’t until he realized why that he then knew that there was no good outcome that may come out of it.
You finally appeared in the night, recognizing the angel from a mile away as you raised an eyebrow at his serious expression that was on his face. It wasn’t until you take a step forward that you notice him take one step back to mirror yours, making you realize that what you came to find him for was true.
“When were you going to tell me that you lost your wings, Changmin?” You whispered into the dark night, looking at him with a hint of remorse but also pain in your eyes as you thought to yourself, there was no way that someone as pure and innocent as him, an angel, could do something sinful to lose their own set of wings.
He gives you a look, not knowing what to say as he wasn’t sure as to how you found out about his secret about why he truly arrived into the human world. There was something in him that made him instinctively want to not tell you, for the sake that he didn’t want you to view him as someone else regardless of all the times you’ve encountered in the past.
However he forgets that you’re also a banshee, a person that can also predict or sense when a death is nearby.
You were there when you warned him of a war that was between heaven and hell, warned him of when one of his own brothers have died because of someone that was a traitor up into heaven because of the sinful act of murder. Yet, he couldn't bring it to himself to tell you even if he knows that you’re only here to warn him or tell him about another death that might come soon; one that might even be his own after losing his wings.
“You’d still love me no matter what, right Y/N?” He says almost inaudibly while watching you carefully, unsure of whether or not he should cover his ears in case your senses of shrieking go off once again or if you might be the one that causes his death.
“Changmin… I don’t think that I can be the one that loves you, not like this.” You muttered quietly, noticing his blood stained hands were now brought out underneath the moonlight as you realized that it was his own actions that lead you to him.
He committed something sinful tonight that must’ve happened in heaven, which might have caused him to lose his wings, you think to yourself as you could see the sad smile that was now on his lips. However, there was something inside of you that still wanted to hear the full story of what truly happened, since everybody whether they were a demon or an angel or mere mortal deserved a hearing of their own story.
“What did you do, Changmin?” You whisper, looking at him and feel tears prick at the corner of your eyes as you could feel your heart strings tug at the sight of the now tinted fallen angel that was in front of you.
He looks at you in the eyes, unsure of whether or not he should tell you despite the fact that there was still blood on his hands while he moves back closer to you knowing it was only you. He takes another step forward, one where the two of you were close under the night sky, the sound of quietness engulfing you both as the sound of your heart beating loudly in your chest was heard. It was close enough where you knew that his lips were hovering over yours, temptation in your mind wanting to close the gap as you wanted for him to make a move, but there was something you felt as though a bad sense as you could feel him smirk at the corner of his lips.
“I ripped off my wings and fell from heaven, so that I can finally feel human and be with you.”

Anyways a lot of these episodes were dull as usual, I didn’t feel like I missed out on much tbh aside from the sexy animation and the lore
This really drives it home to me how not having a villian of somekind just constantly present and active really makes a story so much more flat for me... Like I ain’t gonna argue Devimon or MetalSeadramon were interesting villians, but even just seeing them planning their next moves outloud and talking to their minions drove home what kind of people they were, and they weren’t even the most Packed-With-Personality villians in Adventure.
And while SkullKnightmon is there... they’re just kinda standing around. I don’t know much about them really and it makes me sad
(Look I’m sorry I’m a filthy villian-stan and not having interesting villians to stan makes me sad)
Anyways, as always, I am definitely looking forward to whatever the fuck Psi is planning on doing because 1. Holy Shit It’s Milleniummon and 2. Holy fuck we got WarGreymon and it’s only episode 31, what the fuck are they planning on doing with the rest of the series and indeed 3. Patamon evolves into what

Sleep well, I’ll be here as you rest- a lil pokemon au fic
soooo i sent a headcanon last night that I cannot stop thinking about for @sugarglider9603 ‘s pokemon au and i decided to try writing a fic for it!
(im sorry in advance if anyone is out of character this is my first time writing thomas and the boys)
The afternoon was sunny and breezy as Thomas stretched his arms in the air, smiling happily as he watched his pokemon play together in the Alamos gardens. If he glanced to the side he could easily see the relaxed form of Darkrai observing them all from the shade as he had been doing for a few days now. The thought of it made Thomas smile, and he waved a little to the Legendary while keeping an eye on the playing eeveelutions. He trusted them but he’d had a few too many run in with Team Rocket for the man’s comfort, and so he sat close to his team and watched over them, smiling as Remus dragged over something metal from the trashcan.
“ Oh? Is this for me? Thanks Remus, its great.” He reached down and scratched behind the beaming Leafeon’s ear and chuckled as he bounded off in Roman’s direction, Deceit trotting after him. He looked down and picked up his present, what appeared to be a broken bicycle bell and set it in his bag. For a few moments as he sat back up he felt a little dizzy but Thomas simply brushed it off and rolled his shoulders, suddenly too cold despite the warm sun beating his back.
‘ Maybe it was just the breeze...cant worry too much about it now’ There wasnt enough time. After all once they were done enjoying the gardens he had to get something for them for dinner and start getting things ready for the contest coming up in a couple days. He smiled watching Remus pounce on Roman and the two brothers roll around play fighting while Logan and Patton wandered around the flowerbeds, picking flowers and enjoying the sunshine while Virgil napped beside Darkrai in the shade. Everything was nice and peaceful, so peaceful Thomas could ignore his slowly growing headache or how much heavier his body felt.
After awhile and one deep breath Thomas gave a small whistle, noticing the sun going down much sooner than he thought, hitting 6:30 already.
“ Hey guys! C’mon its getting late and I bet you’re all hungry! Let’s go get dinner!” He winced at the raspy edge to his voice smiled seeing them all perk their ears and trot over to him chirring and chattering with each other. Thomas beamed and with more difficulty than he expected he heaved himself off the bench and to his feet. Instantly all the icky feelings he had amplified, as if he got dunked into ice water. He shivered and swayed, rubbing a hand over his face “ ugh...that’s not a good feelin....g...” He barely got his sentence out as his vision blurred, feeling his body lurching forward. The last thing he could remember where panicked cries of alarm and rapid footfalls along with the feeling of arms around him before his consciousness fully faded...
For a few moments there was nothing but panic.
“ Thomas?!” “ Oh god is he dead??” Oh no oh no oh no” “ Thomas wake up!!” “what happened???”
‘ Everyone take a deep breath. Youre human is very much alive’
They all quieted and looked up at the deeper, calm voice of the older pokemon, their beloved trainer now cradled unconscious in his shadowy arms.
‘ He is merely sleeping, and he will live.’ Most of them were able to calm down, but Virgil was restless and fidgeting, pawing at the dirt with his ears pressed against his head. Roman leaned against him and licked between his ears to try to soothe the smaller pokemon. It worked a little, easing the worst of his fidgeting.
“ We need to get him to the pokemon center. The nurse will know how to help him.” Logan hopped up on the bench and licked Thomas’s finger, noticing his skin felt too hot. With a plan and a destination Logan decided to lead the way back to the pokemon center, trying to avoid running into to many people as they ran.
When they burst through the doors Patton was the one who rushed towards the desk crying and hopping up to get Nurse Joy’s attention. He startled her but one glance behind him and the older woman was around her desk though she was pale and nervous.
“ Oh no, is this boy your trainer?” At the nods she called for her chansey and carefully approached, though she stopped a few feet away when Remus and Deceit growled protectively. They only stopped when Virgil squirmed inbetween them and bapped their noses, wanting their attention and reassurance(which he immediately recieved). The nurse looked at Darkrai and bowed her head a little respectfully, clearly nervous to be confronting the legendary.
“ Darkrai...may I please take him to make sure hes ok? I promise it wont take long.” He considered her silently and very gently placed Thomas into her arms, warning her to take good care of him. Then he sat on the floor with the worrying eeveelutions and watched over them, his deep voice gently assuring them their human would be fine as the woman and her chansey hurried into an examination room with Thomas.
“ He’s right in here boys. He’s asleep so dont rough house too much ok? Your trainer seems to have come down with a cold and had a pretty high fever, but its expected to break during the night.” She leaned down and set out food for all of them and gently patted the heads of who would let her smiling as she told them Thomas would be awake and better by morning, though he’d have to stay in bed a couple days to fully recover. As soon as the door shut they all tried to jump onto the bed and huddle around their trainer.
“ I hope he wakes up before morning...” Virgil whimpered as he paced up and down the bed. He only stopped when Logan rubbed against him comfortingly.
“ I feel the same, but he also needs as much sleep as he can get. Thomas will be fine Virgil, lets try to relax.” He tried, the espeon really tried but within a few minutes he was pacing again. This time he felt a cold hand on his head and looked up at Darkrai, his body relaxing when he felt the Legendary’s clawed hands gently scratch his fur.
‘ I will be here to watch over him little one, he will be safe. You all will.’ He nodded and curled up against Thomas’s neck and head, purring when Roman hopped up and laid as much against him as he could on Thomas’s shoulder. Slowly each of the others hopped onto the bed. Remus curled up against Thomas’s hip using said hip as a headrest, Deceit stretching our next to him along Thomas’s right side. Patton curled up on Thomas’s chest nuzzling him worriedly as Logan laid on his stomach beside the Sylveon, nuzzling him and smiling a little as they fell asleep together. And as they all fell asleep Darkrai sat beside the bed vigilantly, making a content noise at the sweet sight of the pokemon sleeping on their human, making sure nothing happened as the night passed calmly.
“ Nnngh...” Soft morning light filtered through the bedroom window as Thomas pried his eyes open, already feeling better though he was having some trouble breathing. But he knew the weight on his chest and smiled as he rubbed his eyes yawning. The moment he moved he saw them all stir and wake up.
“ H-hey guys....morning--ack ack!” He yelped and couldnt help but giggle as they all tried to swarm him frantically, burying him in fur and fluff and licks and kisses from worry. He held them all tightly smoothing each of their furs and trying to nuzzle them back.
“ hehe I love you guys too! Im sorry i worried you...its ok im fine now!” Even so they did everything they could to keep him in bed for the next couple days, all while the shadowy legendary come back every day to check up on them and watched over them every single night.

1) What’s a paragraph you’ve written that you’re really proud of?
From Order and Obedience (KakaIru):
“Think Konoha’s dog is going to be an easy fuck, ranger?” Kakashi asked, eyeing every possible exit. Just in case. “That my allegiance is so easily swayed?”
“I think if you were still wearing your boots you’d be trembling in them,” Iruka said without missing a beat. “Your desire to serve the light may not make sense to me, but even I can see that the way your skin drinks in the moon would be pleasing to any god. I’m not demanding darkness, only obedience.”
2) Pick a favorite scene from your longest fic!
The scene in Wake the White Wolf (KakaIru) where Sera and Kakashi part ways. I still get chills at the lines “You are no longer my problem. I am no longer your whore.” There’s plenty of fantastic scenes from that fic, but that still remains one of my favorites. That whole arc, really, from when she finds out the news to when it’s finally 100% over.
3) Give us a snippet of your most recent WIP:
Voltron! This is a part of one of my stories for the Sheith Big Bang coming up:
A galaxy will never be enough to contain my love for you.
Mechanically, Keith’s hands go through the motions of powering up Black as Krolia’s voice comes through the comm link. It’s another diplomacy mission--another he’d rather skip in favor of liberating some far off colony from oppressors or just staying in bed, unmoving. The lion doesn’t speak to him the way she used to, and neither does anything else. The universe, for all its glory, has become simple.
Dull.
Grey, even with color sprays from passing planets and nebulas.
He chews on the side of his lip as he lets his head tip to the side, checking to make sure things are in order. His mother’s still rattling off information about the mission and he just wants to tell her to be quiet, he’ll figure it out on his own later. He wants to hear the ghost of Shiro’s voice whispering it loves him again.
Keith…
Ghosts are never enough, but Shiro’s I’ll love you until forever ends echoing in his head assuages the pre-mission blues. “Not that it’s ever anything else these days,” he says under his breath. Krolia asks what he said, and he blames it on a squeaky chair. “Gotta get in here and tune up the cockpit when I’m back. Project for Shiro and I.”
“Well, just as long as it doesn’t interfere with things now. You ready to give ‘em hell?”
Keith pastes a smile on his face, though he knows she’s not on the video link. “Would you expect anything different?”
4) If all of your published fics sparred, who would win and why?
Ohh, tough one...based off of stats, Wake the White Wolf, no question. Off of personal preference? Probably Crescendo (SakuOro) right now.
5) What’s a fic/author you’ve taken inspiration from and in which one of your works did you incorporate that inspiration?
I won’t lie, Tipsy, a lot of my recent style choices came from Scar Tissue 😅 I found I really enjoy storytelling in present tense, with longer flowing lines punctuated by short lil ones for emphasis. It’s appeared in...most of my recent stuff? I switched within the last year or so.

6) Which fanfiction character do you enjoy writing the most? In which one of your fics do you think you wrote them best?
This is another tough one xD I think I actually have to go with a three part answer here, though really, I enjoy writing so many more.
Kakashi Hatake: Shatter Me (KakaIru), best fic
Dazai Osamu: Marionette (Dazushi), best fic
Keith Kogane: since I can’t tell which one of my bang fics yet, I’ll go with my favorite published, which is Unsteady (Sheith). Truly, it’s going to be the fic from the above snippet hehe
7) Smut or fluff? Give us a sneak peek of your favorite fluffy/smutty scene you’ve written.
Mmm, smut. I’ve really got to be in the right mood for fluff, and my not-so-guilty pleasure reading is angsty smut.
My favorite fluffy/smutty scene...I think it’s probably from Reciprocity (KakaSaku)!
He wishes he still had the Sharingan to capture these moments. Sakura’s still got her thin undershirt on, but the delicate hollows of her collarbones call to him as she reaches over to light their lantern. There will be no fire tonight save for the one burning low and heavy in his stomach, as if he’s swallowed molten rock.
“Do I need to do the rest?” she says, dragging her hands up her legs as she stands. “Should I strip for you, Kakashi?”
He stands along with her and tugs off his mask first, then his shirt. Sakura gasps as the angry red of fresh scars is revealed, fingers twitching toward him before he shakes his head. “Let me,” he murmurs.
Inch by inch, the pale curve of her stomach is revealed. Shadows flicker and dance over it along with the flames, and when Kakashi pulls Sakura’s shirt the entire way off he thinks not even the prettiest sunset could compare. There’s several scars--no shinobi makes it out without them--and no shortage of muscle packed into her small frame, but somehow she makes a battleborn body beautiful.
Sakura makes life beautiful.
Her breath hitches when he tells her this, something shifting in her at the tender touch of his lips against her forehead. “You’re sure you don’t want me to just jump you right now?” she says breathlessly.
“No jumping,” he says. “Only falling.”
8) What’s a scene in one of your fics you wish you would receive fanart for?
Uh, literally any one 😅 My top choice, though, I think would be of my favorite OT3 in Desperately:
“I’ll be a lot cuter when the day comes.” Sakura shoved the bandana up and crunched her nose as she looked back with Ibiki. “You might have to leave me at the altar to catch everyone fainting at the sight of me.”
Ibiki’s laugh rumbled through the living room as he gathered her back to his chest. “We’re never leaving you there, baby, you know we couldn’t,” he said. “Or maybe we could take turns catching them. How d’you think your clothes will hold up, Rai?”
“They’ll be fine. I volunteer for catching duty as long as it’s you two falling for me at the end,” he said, spreading his arms over the back of the couch as he watched them sway. “And of course, falling into bed with me later.” Ibiki cocked an eyebrow as Sakura giggled into his scarred chest. “What, you think I”m joking?”
“Never considered it,” Ibiki said. He pulled away from Sakura to trail his hand up her arm, urging her to spin. His uniform lifted from her creamy skin and Raidou sucked in a breath as the purple lace on the bottom of her underwear was revealed. She knew he couldn’t resist those, and Ibiki certainly didn’t mind them either.
“Come here,” he said. Ibiki let her go and gave her a gentle push toward Raidou’s outstretched arms before flopping next to them as the song began to repeat. “I saw those. You can’t hide them from me.” Her hair tickled his face as he kissed over her cheek down to her ear. “Wearing my husband’s shirt and my wife-to-be’s favorite underwear, how scandalous, Sakura,” he purred.
“I’m sure your wife-to-be will be so very displeased I stole them,” she said, pulling back with a mock pout before turning to beg a kiss from Ibiki. “I hear she picked them specifically for tonight because she wanted to get laid.”
9) Would you ever consider turning one of your fics into a podfic? If no, why not?
Not on my own? I have hearing problems, so it’s just really never occurred to me. If anyone else wanted to, though, I wouldn’t say no!

That you’ve taken the time to put so much heart into all of this. The fact that you’re exploring the politics, the social issues, and writing all of the characters as being more than just their A/B/O designations, so good. The multifaceted way you write is just really and truly refreshing. It’s obvious how much work and thought you put into this. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt...embraced by a work of fanfiction before now...this may well be a first. Your enthusiasm for this pairing comes through loud and clear, I’ll tell you that :)
PearlBear on Crescendo (SakuOro): Wow. Just wow. This is brilliant, heart-wrenching, creative and extremely, extremely well-written. You have such a way with words, I was actually crying. And you adapt their lives as shinobi so seamlessly to situations that happen in real life (how many partners give up on possibilities for their significant one and get nothing in return?). This story managed to move me deeply and all the while, they all were in-character (it hurt when Tsunade looked at Orochimaru in the same way they all do, also loved how Tobirama and Madara are his parents). The omegaverse wasn’t heavy at all, instead it’s well integrated enough that I, who don’t particularly like it, barely noticed and completely accepted it. It’s just the way things are. You manage to convey so, so much in a few words. I’m amazed. So, thank you for sharing this! I am very, very excited for what’s next, whether Orochimaru experiments to save himself, whether Sakumo commits suicide (or worse, dies on this mission), whether... So many possibilities. Your story is outstanding. Thank you for writing this gem!

This one from Of Scale and Steel (Sheith naga AU): Ary, sometimes I am left speechless and I don’t quite know how to articulate my thoughts after reading one of your fics. Like, everything is just so...so brilliant that it’s like my brain fucks off when I try to get my thoughts down onto a page. Turning well known and beloved characters into something else entirely isn’t easy and often they miss the mark leaving the reader not really connecting with it. But you, you are brilliant and clever in all that you write because damn, I love Naga Keith. It feels like it IS part of canon. And your oc? Super adorable and she just belongs. I really loved her interactions with Shiro and the chewing on his finger had me rollling because it reminded me of when J would test everything by chomping it. This.....is the 1000th post on this blog, and I definitely waited until that could be true to post it, and that’s honestly? Very fitting. Seriously, you guys are a m a z i n g and I have literally never done a milestone before so I can’t tell you what it’s supposed to look like?? But we’ve somehow Miraculously (tm) managed to reach 100 followers and - anyway, this is going to be me very unprofessionally gushing about everyone because....I love you all and you’re all amazing aaaaaa. I’m??? Literally so blessed to have made friends and write with all of you. Y’all with multiple blogs, I’m only tagging once so I don’t spam your feed ok? i cant help it lmao, i’m a linguist and i went to college for linguistics. that’s just how my brain works, it’s like an adhd hyperfocus special interest type thing, idrk what to call it, but i’ve been learning everything i can about language (in particular phonology and morphology) for like a decade. i dont talk about it much but i spend a huuuuuuge amount of time working on and thinking about my conlang (constructed language) that i’ve had since high school. it’s not very good, but it’s sort of a sandbox where i can fool around with linguistics stuff lol. i wanted to write a paper about the use of conlangs as tools for linguists to use for better understanding certain concepts that they have trouble with, but im not in college at the moment and idk if i will be again anytime soon... anyway yeah like this is my shit lol.
oh and like thats whats super cool about getting into kpop! its a whole lot of media in a language i didnt have much exposure to beforehand. i took latin in high school and ancient greek in college, and then i did like hungarian and vietnamese duolingo for a while lol, but there’s not a ton of easily accessible media in those languages, and certainly not much with subtitles, and definitely not anything for latin and ancient greek haha. like i wish there was something like anime for every language, just a huge wealth of shows in various animated styles in a language i dont speak, but with subtitles so i can recognize that when they say a certain word multiple times and i pick up on it, and every time they do the word “dream” is in the subtitles, i can piece together that that word probably means dream.
so like i have a suuuuper poor understanding of japanese grammar and shit, but i think fairly good pronunciation and a long list of vocab words ive picked up on because thats what my brain gravitates towards. like when i’d hear something i thought was interesting, i’d spend hours looking it up too. like how high vowels (“i” and “u”) often become voiceless between two voiceless consonants in japanese, which is why “sasuke” is pronounced seemingly like “saske”. but if it was an o instead of a u, it’d probably be sasoke not saske, cause its only the high vowels that drop out. also things like... why do certain words that start with a voiceless consonant become voiced in some compound words, but not others? “kana” becomes “gana” in hiragana, but stays “kana” in katakana. why? well, apparently that’s a thing and there’s a name for that. i forget it at the moment lmao, but i know that it happens. and so how come h- becomes b- in that situation? well it’s because it was originally p-, and then it weakened to a sort of f-like sound, and then further into h-, except for “pu” which stayed on the middle stage as “fu” even in modern japanese. all instances of “p” in modern japanese are either because the p was doubled (geminated), or they’re loanwords. so like yeah haha, it’s not that i “picked up japanese from watching anime”, it’s that watching anime and hearing certain things made me curious and i spent a lot of time looking into that. not learning the language tho lol... i like learning ABOUT the language, but im not very good at actually learning the language.
and thats what ive been doing with korean too! it’s not a language i had much experience with, so at first i couldnt make out any words at all in kpop songs. it was hard to tell where one word ended and where the next began. and that was only like two or three months ago lol... i’m still really new. i started noticing certain words that came up a lot. “piryohae”, “saranghae”, “bogosipeo”, “nareul”, “eolgul”, “joahae”, “jigeum”, “shigan”, “sungan”, “eopseo”, “bimil”, “maeum”, god the list goes on and on. it’s just vocab, but for the most part i learned to recognize those words before i knew what they meant lol, cause i dont look at lyrics much. so i’d look them up and go “ohhhhhhh yeah okay i can see why that word would be in those places in those songs” or whatever. and like, you know, learning more about hangeul teaches me more about the phonology of the language (which is my SHIT). and like i could try to write about how the unaspirated and aspirated initial consonants are often pronounced the same by the younger generation of speakers, but the unaspirated one adds something of a low tone to the following vowel, or i could try to write about how the double-consonants (jj, pp, tt, kk, ss) came often from initial sequences of sp- st- sk- etc, or how an ongoing sound change that you’ve probably noticed is that initial m- and n- are being pronounced closer to b- and d-, and how ae and e have completely merged, and how long vowels arent pronounced by younger speakers anymore, etc lol. i could write about how korean used to have a strong system of vowel harmony but centuries of sound change and loanwords from chinese that broke the vowel harmony rules have eroded it significantly, but it still plays a role in a handful of grammatical conjugations. i’ve been like cracking out, for lack of a better term, on learning about the history of the language and the inner workings of it, and ive spent some time attempting to learn the language too, though not that much lol. my brain is much better at collecting facts and having a deep understanding how Language works than it is at understanding how to speak a particular language lol. i cant really speak a word of arabic but i know all about triconsonantal roots and emphatic consonants and 3-vowel systems and differences between the various dialects of arabic lol

i’ve JUST come back from a christmas meal with my family so i’m both tipsy AND tired and now im nearly 23 i’ve become the person who doesn’t mind the chitchat after a meal. my nephews and niece feel so betrayed. anyway that means im one Sleepy Bitch so lets get this show on the road before i pass ouzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

god this line was VERY good the first time around so seeing it again is like Ah Yes i remember this Good Good content. i really like how glynda gets painted in this bit; canon (murphy? mentioning CANON? in WHICH timeline???) really did glynda poorly and i’d love to have had just.... MORE of her in general. luckily offal hunt is like if someone made a fifteen-tier glynda goodwitch wedding cake and then planted your face, neck, and shoulders into it.

it’s ml editor appreciation week, so I have to give shoutout to the server that motivates me every single day to make gifs for the ml fandom~
brace yourself folks it’s gonna be a long and sappy one
I joined the fandom this time last year and even though I loved making gifs for the show, motivation was hard to come by and that led me to almost deleting this blog. I told myself though that I should stick around for a bit and see if I still wanted to stay.
Soon enough, I was asked to join a discord server where ml gifmakers and editors could talk and interact. I said yes, obviously, because this meant that I could get to know more people and also because I’m not the type of person to approach people first, so this was a great opportunity to talk to others in the fandom.
What started off as a simple group chat turned into a budding friendship between everyone of us. I’m so thankful that it turned out like this and you guys means the absolute world to me, I hope you all know that.
You guys are the reason I didn’t leave, the reason I didn’t delete this blog. You guys are my source of motivation and the reason I want to improve my editing skills.

ok here are some of my Actual s2 thoughts (voltron spoilers below)
so back when i first watched s1 i guess i wasn’t totally 100% into it?? i dont remember if i ever really talked abt it on here but i remember being a little confused and trying to figure out why it was so popular bc i honestly didn’t think it was that great but idk i must’ve warmed up to it at some point between then and now bc i was way more into it this time around aaaaa
i rly did like s2 better than s1 tho??? idk maybe it’s just bc it’s new so it’s the hype of new content & everything but dang overall i do feel like i enjoyed it more
i rly like the art style and especially the animation style like this is probably just me coming to this show straight from lolirock but like... while lolirock has a really appealing art style im honestly not a fan of the type of animation they use so it felt really nice to come back to like. hand-drawn stuff idk just! voltron is a v visually appealing show in all aspects god bless

tbh i love shiro? but it’s weird bc i actually think he’s rly boring when it comes to his “leadership” kind of characteristics but like also he suffers a lot and gets a lot of the plot-heavy development and normally i might be annoyed by that but im just...... so weak
also speakin of shiro there was a lot of shiro/keith this season and like..... ok im gonna be honest i dont rly ship them or anything like at all im not too keen on the two of them that way but this person i follow has this au where they’re brothers and imagining them that way made me enjoy their scenes like 100% more so like Good Shit (but tbh keith saying “you’re like a brother to me” or was it maybe “father” i can’t remember but either way that line killed me pls i want them to have a rly strong platonic bond i want shiro to feel rly protective of keith and i want keith to feel safer around shiro aaaaa i love it so much)
pidge starting to adopt altean terms and phrases fucking killed me dude like with the time vocabulary n shit, even the others started picking it up a little bit it’s So Fucking Good im so happy aaaaaAA
i still love keith and lance i hope they never calm down w/ each other and keep fighting forever bye (like rewatching s1 when lance is like “yOU AGAIN” and keith is like “who are u” hfhdgd gOD that was so GOOD)
a lot of the character development was rly good but tbh im a little disappointed by the lack thereof when it came to lance and hunk like ?? at this point they’re still treated like the Joke Characters for the most part, i mean lance did have his one little moment of glory in that one episode but i would really love to see like. an actual full character arc w/ him. and i know hunk did have some stuff in s1 w/ like the balmerans & shae but this season it felt like he was just kinda pushed aside
and i mean the same could be said of pidge, who did have a lot of story in s1 but barely anything in s2, so maybe i’m just being a little impatient lol i mean. if u take a step back and lay it all out, s1 focused on shiro, pidge, allura, and a little bit of hunk, and then s2 focused on shiro and keith, so maybe s3 (idk if it’s even confirmed yet but like hypothetically) will focus on lance and hunk more? and probably shiro again tbh
i mean it doesn’t really feel like anything’s been set up to go into a lance or hunk arc, but at the same time there wasn’t really any setup for keith’s whole s2 thing in s1 either, so there’s still the possibility that it could all happen in s3 but like. with the way s2 went and the unanswered questions it left about keith i can see s3 being very keith-centric, not to mention all the reminders we got about pidge’s whole family issue this season, so s3 will probably focus on that a lot too
idk i mean at the end of the day they are pretty short seasons, it makes sense that they can only focus on a select few characters at a time, so i feel like at this point it makes sense to just sit back and wait to see what happens, & then if hunk and lance are still kind of shoved aside w/ nary even a mere setup then wtf actually
not to keep running w/ the negativity & criticisms but honestly what i really love in a show is complex characters written realistically and w/ voltron i feel like it /almost/ delivers but not really? like, not to bring up lolirock again but that show has fairly one-dimensional characters who are written relying more on their character type than anything with a ton of depth; the protagonists are Good and the antagonists are Evil; auriana is the goofball, talia is the responsible one, iris is the main character or the “pure good” one, mephisto is the clumsy villain, praxina is the irritable villain- like it’s all just very straightforward (most of the time).
i feel like voltron is a little more complex with its characters than lolirock, but in the end it still kind of sticks to the same method of characterization; it’s definitely not as cookie-cutter, but each character does have one or two characteristics that blatantly stick out and make them.... i dont know, really predictable? like you Know that every time a girl shows up lance is gonna hit on her, and every time there’s some cool technology pidge is gonna fawn over it and every time there’s food hunk is gonna say some shit about being hungry, and keith and lance argue a lot and shiro gets the team’s shit together because he’s the Leader and it’s just like
basically, with voltron it feels very “telling” rather than “showing” with most things, and besides manifesting in the story it shows in the way the characters are written, too. in most situations, the characters’ reactions are written based more on those few main characteristics they’ve been given than more realistic reactions to their current situation, and maybe that’s a little confusing but i’ll try to clarify
actually im sorry but i just completely lost my train of thought and i can’t get it back, it’s currently coming up on 1am and im incredibly tired right now so i’m gonna have to cut this short but like. basically, the characters in voltron kind of have their main characteristics and it’s fine to have things like that bc it helps define characters but the way the writers use them feels a lot like those hogwarts house sorting quizzes that are like “what’s your favorite animal? a) lion b) snake c) raven d) badger” like it tends to be relatively straightforward and predictable in a bad way, and a lot of that execution has to do with the storytelling style the show has overall
ok ANYWAY let’s say something more positive now: the soundtrack to this show is absolutely phenomenal tbh i remember thinking this last time too, just the general sound it has, it feels like an homage to the older series and acts as a subtle way to bring that kind of aesthetic into it and i rly like it (i mean i’ve never seen the old show so idk what kind of aesthetic it has but u know what i mean. the kind of “old video tape sound” kind of thing. u know the game oxenfree, which has a similar music aesthetic. god idk how to explain this i hope u know what i’m trying to say. i rly like voltron’s soundtrack)
like i didnt mean to go on this big rant all “here’s everything i didn’t like abt voltron what a Bad Show” bc i actually really like it a lot!! the fact that im picking it apart like this is actually a good sign that i like it bc if i dont care abt something i won’t put in the effort, u know? if i don’t like it then i won’t be all “here’s what i hope to see from this show in the future” right
