"He is the opposite of friendly. He is unfriendly, as in don't be friends with him." Sirius sternly states.
As James potter's younger sister it was no shock that his friends are protective of me but sometimes it is just outright stupid. Who were they, to tell me who I could and could not be friends with? Yes, I may be two years younger than my brother but I am still my own person. Granted that person is a shy Ravenclaw but that is beside the point.
Fed up with how Sirius is being I throw my hands up in frustration, "Sirius who do you think you are. I am allowed to have friends."
"I wholeheartedly agree that you deserve to have friends but pick literally anyone else. How did you even come across Regulus in the first place? Stay away from him, he is trouble and I don't want to see you hurt."
"We have a lot of classes together this year, Slughorn even made him my potion partner, not that it is any of your business," I say crossing my arms over my chest.
"y/n/n Sirius is right, Regulus is a Slytherin and he can't be trusted," James says sternly.
"Just because you two hate the Slytherins doesn't mean that the rest of us have to," I state.
"Maybe you should just keep him at a distance y/n/n," Remus states softly.
"Who's side are you on Moony?" I ask bitterly.
"The one where you aren't hurt." He replies turning the page of his book.
"Whatever guys I have to get to practice," I state walking away from their table in the great hall. I keep my head down muttering to myself as I make my way to the fields.
Before I can even get there I smack into another body and I fall flat on my butt. I don't look up due to embarrassment, "I am so sorry I should have looked where I was going."
I only look up when I see a hand extend out in front of my face, "Don't worry about it, it happens. Here let me help you up. You're y/n right?" I hear the charming voice of Regulus Black.
"Thank you," I blush taking his extended hand to allow him to help me up, "Yes I am y/n, and you're Regulus Black."
"That I am, So where are you headed to in such a hurry." He asks making eye contact with me.
"I uh I am heading out to the fields for practice, I have a game tomorrow," I say
"Oh yeah, it is against Hufflepuff. I can walk with you to the field if you like?" He suggests almost shyly.
"I would like that a lot Regulus, thank you." I smile at him before we both make out way out to the field. "So are you coming to the game tomorrow?" I ask curiously
"Yeah, I will be there. Are you excited to play the second game of the year?" He asks as we exit the castle.
"Yeah, I am looking forward to it. I really want to get out there and play against Gryffindor." I state.
"You want to play against your brother and his friends?" He asks shocked.
"Well yeah, a little friendly competition isn't a bad thing, Plus I'm quicker than James is on a broom. I would love to see the look on his face when I catch the snitch and win the game." I muse with a slight smile.
"That's right you're a seeker this year because the one from last year graduated." He says just as we were approaching the field.
"Yes indeed, you better watch out Regulus!" I exclaim jokingly.
"Ha yeah, right potter in your dreams." He jokes back.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Black, you haven't seen me in action yet," I state.
"I guess that would give you a slight advantage but I doubt it." He giggles a bit, "I will see you tomorrow y/n, I have to go meet Slughorn. I hope you have a good practice cutie." He states before getting swiping a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"Y-yeah I will see you tomorrow Regulus." I flush at both his action and his comment before I watch him walk back toward the castle with a smile on my face.
"Y/n Potter, get in here now girl you are late!" My captain exclaims not truly mad at me though.
"I'm sorry, Regulus Black had to talk to me about some homework from charms," I state grabbing my broom from its rack.
"mhm, and I am guessing that homework involves him moving your hair out of your face. What's going on between you two anyway?" she asks not believing my lie for a second.
"Nothing we are just friends," I state shrugging my shoulders.
"Sure, you are. I bet you guys will be dating by the end of the year," she states.
"No that would never be allowed to happen," I state trying not to let my emotions show on my face.
"Well James and Sirius can butt out with their grudges, they are graduating this year anyway so it really shouldn't matter." my captain explains before getting on her broom.
"I couldn't agree with you more," I state quietly to myself before mounting my own broom.
Our practice goes on very well with no more interruptions, we all make it back onto the ground and our captain decides to give us a few words of encouragement before we have to pass the field over to the Hufflepuffs. "Great practice today everyone, if we manage to play like this tomorrow we should have no problem with beating the Hufflepuffs out on the field. Get good rest today everyone is going to need it if we are going to play our best tomorrow. You are all dismissed for the night see you tomorrow."
I let all my teammates put their gear away first because I know that they are just as anxious as I am to get off the field and back to our common room. I put my broom away and lock up my equipment before exiting the field.
I am the second to the last one to leave. I am startled when I hear a familiar voice from behind me, " I was almost afraid that I had just missed you cutie."
With a slight smile, I see Regulus leaning against the bleachers with a small smile adorning his face. "Hello Regulus, I wasn't expecting to see you again tonight."
"Well, I just thought how a pretty girl like yourself shouldn't walk back to your common room alone while it is this late, not that you would need my protection. I am here to offer you company," he states nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"I would greatly appreciate the company, thank you very much," I say with a smile allowing him to walk beside me.
"So you are totally allowed to say no but I was wondering if you wanted to maybe, study with me for the charms exam that is coming up?" He asks as we enter the warmth of the castle.
"Yes, I would love to. how does Friday after classes sound?" I inquire as we walk the familiar path to the Ravenclaw common room.
"That works for me, do you want to meet up in the library then?" He asks, stopping once we were outside my common room.
"That sounds like a plan to me. Thank you again, Reg for walking me back to my common room.
"Of course, sleep well cutie. I will see you tomorrow." He smiles brightly at me.
I smile shyly back, "You also sleep well, I will see you in class." I watch him walk off before I go and say the password to get into my common room. with my cheeks Flushed I make my way to my dorm room to see that my roommate Anna still isn't back from the library yet.
'Typical Anna' I giggle to myself as I get ready for bed. After I am in comfortable pajamas I crawl under my sheets and tuck myself in. I did comprehend how tired I actually was until my head hit my pillow and I was fast asleep.
The next morning I woke up just in time for breakfast. I get ready in my uniform pulling my school robes over it. I then stash my want in the pocket on the inside of my robes before grabbing the book I would need for my first class. I then rush from my dorm room and out of the common room, all the way to the great hall. When I walk into the room I glance at the Slytherin table and see Regulus whom shoots me a small smile. I smile back before I head over to the Gryffindor table to have breakfast with my brother.
"Hey, Y/n/n how was practice last night? We didn't get to see you afterward." Remus asks when I sit next to him.
"Practice was good, our captain says that if we played as well as we did last night we will win no question," I state eating some eggs and bacon.
"That's good y/n/n maybe one day you will even surpass me." My brother says cockily.
"Oh I am counting on it Jamie, You only have this year left. I definitely have time." I pop back and I hear Peter try to surpass his laugh.
James sticks his tongue in his cheek before replying, "How about a flying race today after classes sister, so I can put you back in your place."
"Are you sure you want to do that Jamie? I am better on a broom compared to you." I state
"She has your there prongs," Sirius states with a nod.
James gasps out, "Who side are you on pads."
"The winning one, duh." He states winking at me
I wrinkle my nose up in distaste at the wink but still manage to force out a, "Thank you pads." I start talking again after I finish my food, Now if you'd excuse me I have to get to Charms. I will see you guys later."
I only leave after I hear a series of goodbyes. I make my way to Charms class. when I get there I am one of the first ones there, we don't have assigned seats but a lot of us liked to sit in the same seat every day. I go to the seat I assigned to myself. It is not in the direct front but it is not in the back either, I liked to sit in a seat that is in the middle but off to the right just a bit so I have a good view of the whole room but I am not in the direct center of the room.
A Hufflepuff boy normally sits in the seat next to mine. However, he must be running late as the seat is still empty. I open my book and go over last night's homework one more time while students start to file in. I don't pay any mind to who is in the room or not.
I only look up when a book is dropped on the table in the spot next to mine. I look up in curiosity as I hear a charming voice, "Morning Potter!"
I slightly smile as Regulus sits down in the seat next to mine, "Good morning Regulus Black. You know you are in Edmunds' seat." I giggle.
Regulus looks around him on the table and on the back of the chair jokingly, "Well I don't see Edmunds' name anywhere now do I. I guess that means it is my seat now." he says in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Oh really and what about your seat next to Narcissa?" I ask teasingly
"Edmund can sit there!" He quietly exclaims making eye contact with me.
"Right because that will blow over well!" I joke
"well they are just going to have to deal with it, now stop trying to get rid of me." He says opening his charms book.
This was a few months ago which had led to a beautiful friendship between the younger Black brother and myself. I have done a great job at hiding it from my brother and his friends as they have grown busy with important things for their last year. I must admit that my feeling for Regulus has started to grow into something more, definitely not feelings that you should have for your best friend.
I have developed quite a crush on Regulus Black. I have the desire to be around him at any possible time I could. My brother and his friends have come to terms with the fact that I would have to see Regulus sometimes outside of class so they are a bit more lenient about me being around him. I am brought out of my trance as I am about to enter the great hall for lunch with my brother and the rest of his goons.
I give a quick glance at the Slytherin table to see Regulus already looking at me with a bright smile. I shyly smile back at him before going to sit down at the Gryffindor table.
"Hey, Sis, Should I ask Lily to the Yule Ball?" James asks as I sit down across from him.
"I don't know James, Isn't she still mad at you," I state putting a little bit of food on my plate.
"That is what I told him too!" Sirius exclaims from next to me. "So, y/n/n do you have a date to the Yule Ball?" Sirius asks me putting an arm around my shoulder.
"Pads Get your grubby paws off my sister right now!" James states in faux anger.
Sirius puts his hands up in surrender before asking again," Well do you y/n/n?"
I look up at Slytherin's table to see that Regulus has a sour look on his face. I send him a look of confusion to which he dismisses, "Well I wasn't planning on going, besides it is like a month away." I state looking back down at my plate.
Remus gasps, "Y/n/n you know that it is mandatory. If you can't find anyone to go with I will go with you as friends."
"Since when was it mandatory? and thank you, Remus, I will keep your offer in mind," I state. truth be told I don't want to go to the ball unless Regulus accompanies me, but I could never admit that to anyone else.
"The Yule Ball has always been mandatory Y/n/n. " James states as we all finish up lunch.
"Oh well James, don't push Lily too far and just maybe she might go with you," I state as I pick up the rest of my stuff to head to class. I see Regulus spare me one glance with a tilt of his head to the left before he exits the great hall. "See you guys later," I state following in the direction of Regulus not even waiting for a response from any of the boys.
I exit the Great Hall and head down the left side of the corridor trying to see if I can find Regulus, but the hallways are empty. Confused I just keep walking straight ahead when all of a sudden my right arm is gently grabbed and I am pulled into an empty classroom. My back is gently pushed against the closed door and a familiar hand goes over my mouth to stop the scream that is bubbling in the back of my throat.
"Easy, pretty girl it is just me," Regulus says before pulling his hand off my mouth.
"Reg you almost gave me a heart attack," I state gently slapping his shoulder.
"So you and my brother aye?" He asks somewhat bitterly crossing his arms.
"What!?! Ew no. Sirius is just James' friend I don't see him that way." I state in disdain.
"Does he realize that?" He asks sitting on one of the empty tables in front of me.
"Why wouldn't he?" I ask confused.
"Please don't play dumb Potter it's not a good look on you," Regulus says as he leans back on his hands.
"I am thoroughly confused Reg?"
"I have seen the way he looks at you, and don't pretend that you haven't too."
"And how does he look at me Reg?" I ask crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"He looks at you like you are the most precious thing in the world like he would do anything for you, just to see you smile. He looks at you like you are the reason his world turns." He states more bitterly than before.
"Why does it sound like you speak from experience?" I walk until I am directly in front of him.
"Potter you can be so dense sometimes! He looks at you the way that I look at you Dammit!! Can't you see that!" Regulus jumps off the table and stands in front of me.
"How you look at me?" I ask confused
Regulus cups my cheek and pulls me into a kiss. My eyes flutter shut and I kiss him back moving my arms around his neck as one runs through the back of his hair.
After some time we pull away to catch our breaths as he rests his forehead on mine with our eyes still closed, "Yes the way I look at you pretty girl. I want you to be mine just as I would be yours."
"Reg?" I ask pulling away to make eye contact with him.
"Yes, love?" He asks creasing my cheek gently.
"Will you go to the Yule Ball with me?" I ask nervously.
"I wouldn't have it any other way beautiful. What color do you want to wear?" he asks with his arms around my waist.
"Hmm, Green," I state mischievously.
"Oooo Potters making a statement, we will go get you a dress next weekend at Hogsmeade," he states kissing my cheek.
"You're my boyfriend now correct?" I ask just to clarify.
"Yes babe we are together now," he states lovingly
"You know what would really make a statement Reg?" I ask
"And what is that babe?"
"Let's keep it a secret until the Yule Ball," I state with a hand on his cheek.
"What about my brother and Potter?" he asks with a small pout.
"If they act out at the ball they are only going to make asses out of themselves. So they are being forced to behave."
"That is true and they are less likely to try and beat me up for that."
"I wouldn't let it get that far. " I state before kissing his lips

Stealth Operation | Team Sabotage
@urchinxowens @justkeepdancing-nemo @oliversaluki
The boys sneak into the Hunted Deer and make a mess.
URCHIN
The light had faded and night was upon Swynlake. Everyone was asleep in order to build up energy to go back to work the next day. Everyone except Urchin - because he had summer holiday - and hopefully Louie, who Urchin was actually waiting for at their rendez-vous point a block away from Main Street.
Urchin sported his best spy gear which… well, consisted of a black turtle neck sweater, balck jeans and a black beanie that worked very little because his curls were overpowering it more and more by the minute, cascading out of the headgear.
With him also came a large cardboard box with air holes punctured on top. The boy sat next to said box and checked his phone, waiting for his partner in crime to arrive!
LOUIE
Ordinarily, Louie never got rid of his signature green. However, the plan they had was going to require stealthiness. So he also had dressed in all black. Black skinny jeans, black t-shirt, black leather jacket he found around the house. And of course a beanie as well, pushing down his own fantastic hair.
Louie had only one hand free to use (the other in a cast thanks to his genius moped moment), but he utilized his hand as best he could. He brought along with him some spray paint that he’d found at home, as well as some eggs both sort of put together in a bag. He’d feel a little bad about wasting the eggs but…there were a ton of things to toss at Gaston and he was gonna use all of them.
He made his way over with a grin, glad that he managed to find friends who were up for taking matters into their own hands. “Hey Urchin. Listen, I invited Ollie along too. He had some fun ideas for sabotage and stuff which is great and you know…I’ve only got one functioning hand so. Go team.”
OLLIE
Ollie kind of knew this was a bad idea but at the same time why not mess with someone who deserved it. Besides a little egg never hurt anyone and if he was there he could probably try and keep everyone from getting into too much shit.
So he had printed out harmless things, well not that werewolves were harmless but it was a prank that was harmless and his of choice.
Plus it was good to pull his leather jacket back on, pull the dark beanie on, and get out of the house from the crying baby.
It wasn’t hard to find the two other boys.
“What’s up?” Ollie stated softly dropping to curb beside Urchin.
URCHIN
“Woah, what happened to you?” Urchin couldn’t help but ask, gesturing at Louie’s arm. He didn’t look like that the last time Urchin had seen him, now did he? In any case, Ollie rolled up soon enough.
“Oh, hello! So it looks like we’re ready, huh? I’m honestly glad we’re not on our own, because I didn’t manage to get any raccoons,” he admitted, patting the cardboard box. The pat made the animal within wake up, though, because it had begun moving.
“I… got the next best thing. This is Felicia. She’s the cat who always tries to get into our kitchen,” the boy explained. “She’s ferocious. Should give our big dumb friend a headache when he tries to take her out of his business tomorrow.”
NEMO
Nemo had never snuck out of the Hollow before.
In the end– it had been kind of easy. He just waited for his father’s light snoring, put on one of his black dance hoodies, flipped up the hood, and then, quick and quiet as the wind itself, flit from outside his bedroom window.
He had to stop first at the Raccoon Hole to see if he could round up reinforcements. Course, he was no animal fairy and his Beast was seriously lacking, but as soon as he flashed the gold of his pixie dust, they were in. Raccoons loved all things shiny– kinda like magpies in that way. With his new comrades in tow, Nemo flitted fast as he could and tried not to think about how he had used up more than half his dust by the time he finally got to town.
He walked the rest of the way, hood up, skirting from shadow to shadow until he saw what he thought were the three boys he had never met before. His steps slowed, hands going into his pockets, heart rapid-fire, though from his flying or nerves he didn’t know. He swallowed and put on a big grin, sauntering forward.
“Um– hey! Are you erm, Louie, and Ollie and…?” he blinked. He didn’t know the other bloke. “Um. I brought Blueberry and Denise!” He blurted and pointed at his raccoon mates.
They chattered and lifted their paws in a friendly wave.
LOUIE
What had started as an awful day had quickly turned into something incredible. He had gathered three other boys to do something important: sabotage the old geezer Gaston. It was the perfect union, with every one pitching in the best of plans (and one fantastic fairy delivering the raccoons of destiny). He almost forgot about the wrist, though he held it up with a sheepish grin. “Crashed my moped. It happens. Won’t get in the way of awesome though.”
And this was truly awesome. Ollie was there, Urchin brought a CAT! And then finally, the other hero of the night Nemo there with the raccoons! Who needed brothers for mischief when you could make friends like these? “Mwahaha,” Louie cackled quietly, rubbing his hands together because this was better than he could have imagined. “Team Sabotage…we’ve come together this dark night to take down an old man’s ego.” He glanced over at the cat and the raccoons. “I welcome Felicia, Blueberry and Denise to our super good cause.”
He turned toward his fellow conspirators, the smile only growing on his face. “Urchin, Ollie, Nemo…you guys are the best of the best of the best with the coolest ideas. And I’m excited to pull off this mission with you. But first…we should probably have a sort of escape plan. My moped’s trashed so we can’t take that quick exit.”
OLLIE
Ollie really wasn’t quite sure what he was getting himself into at this rate. There was a cat and two raccoons? They couldn’t be too much damage? Or too dangerous. Either way Ollie was going to make sure they didn’t get into shit. Or try to.
He just lifted a hand in a greeting.
“I can double back and get my car? It’s kind of noticeable for the small town so I don’t know how much of a good idea that is for stealth.” Ollie mused with a shrug. “We gotta worry about cameras too and what not. I’ve never been so I don’t know what’s there but he’d be even more stupid not to have some sort of security.” Leaning forward Ollie rested on his knees trying to think of all the necessary things.
URCHIN
“Urchin,” the boy quickly said when the stranger asked for his name. Eventually, he managed to associate each person with their names, and smiled at the small collective of revenge-getters.
“Uh, we should probably try to stay out of very visible areas as much as possible, then,” the curly-haired boy pointed out after Ollie’s statement. “We can also ask the raccoons or the cat to disconnect anything we can find, if that’s even possible… and if anyone can talk to them.”
He stood up from his sitting place and grinned. “In any case, he’s getting what he deserves! So destiny will probably thank us for it or whatever. We will probably not even get grounded because of how much everyone probably dislikes this guy.”
NEMO
Nemo’s eyes flicked imperceptibly to his pocket. Tucked inside was his pixie dust pouch-- and in another world, Nemo would pull it out, grin bright, and show them all how to use it. Why need a moped when you could fly anyway, right?
But if he ran out of pixie dust, he’d never get home, and his dad would wake up and see he was gone, and he’d totally flip and Nemo would be grounded (literally) for the next forever.
He felt guilty, but he kept his hands in his pockets, fingers around that pouch, all to himself.
“Erm, I can’t-- explain electronics to them,” he said, rolling from the balls of his feet to his toes and back again. “My beast’s not that good and they’d definitely not listen. But um, I can fly in before hand and maybe turn ‘em off?”
LOUIE
“You can fly?!” Louie blurted first, instantly putting Nemo up there on the list of coolest people he’d ever met. That was awesome! He’d met this other guy who could fly once (Peter) but they hadn’t really spoken much since the incident at the ice cream shop. Nemo though, Nemo seemed like a super cool dude. So did Urchin and Ollie really. Immediately in for the world’s best sabotage team.
“Good idea on the security front too...hmm. If the car’s not the best option and the raccoons can’t tell...yeah okay. Here’s the plan,” Louie started, and honestly he wasn’t one hundred percent sure they’d just listen to him on this but what the hell. Act confident and like you’re the best option and eventually others will believe you.
“Nemo will fly in and turn off the security. From there he’ll call in the racoon pals to trash the place and the cat too. Phase two’ll be us swinging in there to egg the place and spray painting it. The werewolf pics will have to be more carefully put so they’re phase three. Ollie, you seem pretty like...responsible and shit, are you up for keeping watch? Make sure that the cost is clear?”
OLLIE
Well if Ollie had to have a title of being responsible, you know what he was okay with that. The more he thought about it the more he worried about it he was. This wasn’t New York where you could get away with shit because no one paid attention to you. This was Swynlake where anything that could go wrong would go wrong.
Call him boring. He was not getting tossed into jail for this though even if he could bail himself out.
“Honestly yeah I’m good with just keeping watch.” Ollie stated simply. “You guys can do all the trouble and we can make a simple signal that someone is on their way. Three knocks in quick sucession or something like that. So you know don’t be too loud in there.”
URCHIN
Urchin was disappointed they couldn’t tell the animals to do everything for them, mostly because it’d have been so cool, but the plan seemed solid either way. He listened intently to Louie’s words and tried to picture it in his mind - it’d probably involve a fun montage of crudely-drawn caricatures of the boys doing all the things if it were a TV show.
“Great! I think we’re all set, then,” he announced, picking up the box Felicia the cat was in, which shook almost uncontrollably as it was picked up. “Evidently, Felicia’s ready to move, too.”
NEMO
Right-- that meant he actually had to fly.
Instantly, Nemo got self-conscious, his hands fisting deep in his hoodie pockets. So dumb-- it wasn’t like they were gonna see his wing or anything. It just kinda felt like...well, his pixie life was in the forest and his human life was here in Swynlake. He’d never been in his pixie form here.
But Louie beamed at him. Nemo wanted to help. He didn’t have any other choice.
“Er, okay. Yeah-- okay then, I’ll um-- do that!” said Nemo. His eyes flicked back to Louie and his smile dropped as fast as it jumped onto his face in the first time. “Uh, now right? I should do that now?”
LOUIE
“Hmmm….the knock’ll work once we’re all in there, but I think Nemo you’ve gotta give us a bit more of a cue.” They’d be close by, but not too close, obviously. They couldn’t exactly be spotted by the cameras or anything. What would work better for that? “How about...Nemo you can do like an owl call or something. Hoot or something once you’ve got the cameras out of the way.”
He glanced around the group of misfits, a smile slowly lighting up his entire face. This was the kind of thing he lived for. Bringing together some cool kids to cause trouble for a man who absolutely deserved everything they threw his way. This was going to be the best. “Yeah okay. Nemo first uh huh. But maybe demo your call or whatever so we know what we’re listening for. But then yeah. Fly like an eagle or something.”
OLLIE
Ollie nodded, more than fine taking a step back. He wasn’t ever the leader type. It just wasn’t in his bones. So he listened to the plan. What an interesting group he had found himself in. Pushing himself into a standing position Ollie stepped back from the box with a potentially unruly cat.
“Are we gonna make code names at his rate?” Ollie joked. “Eagle one, Eagle Two. If I had to pick a dude and what not.”
URCHIN
Urchin frankly loved the idea of getting code names, but he wondered if he’d start confusing them. “Okay, okay,” he said. “But I want memorable code names. Otherwise, I’m gonna confuse everyone, honestly.”
He looked around and at the rest. They all seemed ready and eager to start. The box shaking in his hands seemed to imitate his own anxiousness to get started. “Not to hurry us up or anything, but if this cat manages to escape the box there’s no way we’re getting her back in. So, let’s make sure she does it once she’s inside, and pronto.”
NEMO
The idea of code names distracted Nemo from his erratic, buggy jitters firing off in his belly. He brightened up-- especially at Eagle one, Eagle two.
His hand shot up into the air. “Dibs on Eagle One!” he preened. He grinned wide, shooting the grin from one boy to the next.
He’d always wanted to be like an eagle-- strong, intense, fierce. Fast.
He then cleared his throat. “Erm, okay how about somethin’ like--” and he whistled sharp and loud, the sort of call he had mimicked before from the animal fairies.
It made Blueberry and Denise startle, then perk up on their hindlegs and wiggle their noses in the air.
LOUIE
“Alright great. Nemo’s Eagle One. That’s good. Hmm… Ollie can be Hawkeye or something you know, cause he’s keeping watch.” Louie probably wasn’t any better at this code name thing, but he could sure try. “Urchin you’ll be 007. You’ve got the whole look down. Leaving me with…” he hummed, debating for a long minute. “Rebel Leader.”
He jumped a little at the whistle, knocking into Urchin a bit and patting his shoulder as his form of sort of apology. “Okayyyy. Yeah. Good. That’s good. Eagle One...you’re clear for take off,” he added, grinning like an idiot and giving them all the thumbs up. This would be amazing. Team Sabotage was ready to go. “The rest of us, we gotta chill, till we hear Nemo. Alright?”
OLLIE
Ollie couldn’t help the snort of laughter as all the code names. He had been teasing but he was glad they took him seriously. It made him feel more like they were part of a group than he had in a long time. Sure he couldn’t be sure everyone had each others backs but it felt like they did.
Blinking at the animal call Ollie nodded. “Hard to miss but it should blend in.” Ollie mused with a nod. “Have any of you guys pulled off anything like this before?” Ollie questioned already starting to glance around and make sure he took his task seriously during the whole time.
URCHIN
Urchin grinned at his code name. It was probably the best one out of all of them, so he certainly didn’t complain. He did jump a bit when Louie knocked into him, but was quick to regain his balance and smile as a silent way to tell him not to worry.
“And chill we shall,” the boy declared. He put down the box for a few seconds and made sure his cap was on correctly, and then shrugged at Ollie. “I mean… You know what they say, there’s a first time for everything, right?” he said, grinning.
NEMO
First time for everything.
Wasn’t that the truth?
And Nemo-- Nemo was excited, especially as he glanced around at these other boys’ grins. It gave him the jolt of confidence he needed. He dug his hand back into his pocket and this time he pulled out the pixie dust pouch. “Okay! Okay okay, I’m um, I’m goin’!” he said as he skipped back, gathering a little bit of air on his heel that helped him glide. “Oi, Denise, Blueberry, follow me!” He took out a pinch of pixie dust, tossed it in the air, and leaped into the golden cloud--
In an instant, he was a small blur of orange and gold, zooming sharp as a rocket toward the Deer. The raccoons chattered and followed after him, their black and gray hides disappearing into the shadow.
It didn’t take long for Nemo to fly all the way up to the Deer’s thatched roof. He skittered around the panels then found the chimney and dived down into it.  The raccoons, meanwhile, took the long way round and clambered up the gutters. Their claws scratched against the pipe work and the roof tiles.
Nemo emerged into a dark, dim, silent pub. It was actually a bit creepy how quiet it was-- Nemo used to humming cicada and whistling crickets and the wind, always there, murmuring into his ear. There was no wind here. The air was still, so still it felt-- dead. Dusty. Nemo didn’t like it and he scrunched up his nose before zooming on.
He found the cameras and scrambled on top of one, where he had to stop and rest. His little wind fluttered weakly and his lungs burned from all the effort of it. Breathing heavily, he drew his hands through his hair once before resecuring the hood over his orange hair. And then, squinting through the dark, he yanked hard on the tiny switch below the flashing red button. It didn’t budge. Nemo grimaced. This was the downside of being so small sometimes. He yanked again and again and the plastic rubbed against this tiny hands. And then one more time--
Nemo yelped as the switch gave way and he nearly toppled off the camera. His wings fluttered frantically and righted him again.
This was way harder than it looked.
It took him another five minutes to get the other three cameras all turned off, and then Nemo landed in a tired heap on the ground where he pinched out some pixie dust to help him return to his human-form. Nemo put his hands around made his call then and skipped over to the door to open it up for the boys when they arrived.
He poked his head out. “Coast all clear!” he announced. Something smashed behind him and Nemo giggled. “I think that was Denise.”
LOUIE
The mission was going off without a hitch. Nemo went for it, and the rest of the boys had a little while before they could be called in. “You know, I pull stuff like this with my brothers...but they’re usually too them to want to go for something really interesting.” Well, Huey more than Dewey, but it took some nudging to get them to want to cause some serious trouble.
But soon he heard the call, and he gestured for Ollie and Urchin to follow him as he rushed over to the entrance of the Hunted Deer. “Nice one Nemo. Your heroics will be remembered forever.” He carefully stepped into the building, holding onto a can of spray paint. It was time to mess up this newly prettied up place. Yesss. “Okay. Ollie, stick by the door yeah?” This teamwork was seriously going to rule. He’d never have a shot at something this good without them.
Louie moved toward the nearest wall, shaking the spray paint he had and considered it carefully. This would be his artistic masterpiece. “I know we should probably be beyond the immature dick art, but Gaston is one...so is it really so bad?” He considered the wall carefully. “Guys? Ideas on what we should put on the walls? It’s gotta be good.” He started ‘Gaston is a dick’ on one part, figuring it was both true and fun to write. The rest...well. He could probably paint something fun.
OLLIE
That wasnt that reassuring. People having only done this for the first time could be dangerous. Sure ollie hadnt spray painted or edges someone's place but he liked to think his own excursions in New York would count for it.
He didn't technically have a criminal record at least. (Not that he hadn't ever been caught but because people took pity on him as a kid)
But that's almost why he was starting to feel responsible for the group of boys. He didn't want any of them to get in trouble for this. At least trouble they couldn't get themselves out of.
Crossing over to the door Ollie nodded his head giving Nemo a heads up. "Okay you guys do your thing. I'll let you know if someone is coming. Stay as quiet as you can with you know Denise and everyone breaking things so you can hear if I have to give you guys a signal."
URCHIN
Loud meowing followed Ollie’s instructions, totally being louder than intended, as Felicia finally found her freedom when Urchin unsecured the box and let her out. Immediately, the cat started running and hopping around the place, uncertain of her location, and had already knocked down a pair of bottles from behind the bar. That’s what Urchin would call a resounding success!
“Uh - Draw him!” Urchin suggested. “Except make his nose a dick,” he added, because hey, dick drawings were in like 50% of graffiti, right? It felt like a crime not to do it.
NEMO
Nemo started giggling.
He’d never done anything like this before. It was like somethin’ outta a TV show, y’know, something he might watch at Roo’s house during one of his rare sleepovers. He didn’t realize this sort of thing happened in real life. That kids really did go out and-- and teepee places, and mess up houses, and use spray paint and markers and all sorts of things.
He felt a little guilty, but it was a feeling as fast as a blink. Mostly he thought about how pissed his dad would be if he knew. Not only was Nemo breaking a whole handful of Marlin’s rules, but he was doing that in Gaston’s pub.
He made a grab for a can of spray paint. “I’ll draw dicks on all the booths!” he announced and then scurried off to do so.
Meanwhile, there was more glass-smashing as Denise and Blueberry had their way with the storage room.
LOUIE
Never was there a better group of boys than now. He was sure of it. “Dicks on the booths yesssssss. Great idea Nemo!” Louie was delighted by the whole thing. And Urchin coming out with a dope drawing idea. Oh yeah. Louie would make Gaston as ugly as possible.
He smirked, taking one of the spray paint cans (a wonderful green) and studied the wall before him. “Good call good call. Alright, while I do my masterful art of Gaston….Urchin, put up those werewolf pics. Scare the pants off of him when he goes anywhere!”
He started spraying a sort of rendition of Gaston. If Gaston were more of a blob person with a dick nose. What? He was still working on improving his art. Maybe he’d bother Lou Bonfamille for more lessons. For now? Well he added some extras like a fart cloud by his ass and a speech bubble by his mouth saying ‘no one farts like Gaston’
Then he took a step back to admire his work. “What do you guys think? Pretty good right?”
URCHIN
Urchin nodded and saluted before heading off to do as ordered. He gathered the expertly-crafted werewolves and began making rounds about the place to find locations for optimal scare factor.
He decided to place the first one under the bar, hiding so that you’d only be able to see it if you were on the bartender’s side of it. The next one hung right by the bathroom doors, so you’d round that corner and piss your pants off on your way into the bathroom. That, of course, meant that he had to also set one up within the bathroom in place.
After setting up the rest in the general vicinity of the bar, the boy returned just in time to admire the drawing on the walls. “Perfect,” he commended. “I’m sure he’s going to love it.”
NEMO
Nemo got to work on the drawings, giving the spray cans a good shake. It took him a few seconds to get a handle on the paint-stream, but once he’d got it down, the dicks were pretty easy. He went booth to booth and spray painted them big across the seat, though he made sure to switch it up a few times, y’know, vary the size and direction and all-- artistic license. He knew it was all a bit silly but, well, he couldn’t get Louie’s compliment outta his head.
He thought Nemo was cool. And brilliant. And that he had great ideas.
And sooo… Nemo wanted to show off.
He jogged back over to Louie and tapped him on the shoulder. “Hey, Louie, I ah-- I got an idea. Wanna see somethin’ cool?” he said.
And then Nemo drew his hands together, palms flat. And then, in one quick motion, he folded his fingers in one after another after another, then back again, until he had gathered a swirling ball of wind in his hands.
And then Nemo shoved the heel of his hand across the palm of his other one, pushing the blast of wind out--!
It blew out the napkins outta the napkin dispensers on several of the tables. “Nice, right!” He said, jumping up and down again. “I can do a windmill and probably knock everything over!”
LOUIE
Louie was easily distracted from drawing something else spectacular (maybe Gaston cowering before a werewolf or something) by his new friend Nemo. He twisted around, watching the guy carefully as he gathered wind into his hands and knocked napkins out of this dispensers.
“Holy shit, you’re the avatar!” Louie blurted and then grinned. “Sorry. It just looks like something out of a cartoon.” He glanced around to see that Ollie was still properly keeping a look out, and that Urchin was placing the werewolf stuff. And wow he picked great spots.
“Nice move by the bathroom mate. Hilarious.” This was the best bunch of guys he’d ever met. They’d be bound together by a common bound of mischief with this. Maybe he’d get them to make some sort of pact. Or something. “Okay. I’m gonna draw one more thing. Nemo...definitely knock shit over. That’s fantastic. Everyone do one last ridiculous thing and then we’ll get the fuck outta here. Ollie...you do something ridiculous too. Come on. It’ll be worth it.”
OLLIE
Ollie was perfectly fine chilling by the door. It wasn't like there was anything to scare him out here. The only thing that worried him was that some random adult would see them wasn't he an adult too. Was he supposed to be turning people in for their hijinks.
"You guys look to be doing perfectly fine." Ollie mused with a small laugh stepping back for a moment. "Plus I'm more musically inclined then I am artistically." Even with Gaston being a douche ollie doubted himself. Not that either one of his parents would care if he had to guess what they would think.
"Wait this place has a kitchen right? What about saran wrapping most of the stools together or something?"
URCHIN
Urchin was happy to be complimented for his ideas. Everyone else was doing pretty great too, which made him even more satisfied! After Ollie’s suggestion, though, the boy’s eyes seemed to outright gleam in delight.
“Ooooh, yes! He’d probably use that wrap to attack some deers and hang them on his wall or something evil like that anyway,” Urchin said, and immediately bolted into the kitchen. He took a while but trashed the place while he looked around, and Felicia even helped unintentionally by walking in and finding some leftovers on a counter.
Eventually, Urchin found a roll of something that people would likely use to wrap up take-out. “Here we go!” he proclaimed, tossing the few rolls he’d found out onto the main sitting area of the bar for the others to pick up.
NEMO
While they waited for Urchin to appear, Nemo did his fairy best too. He could feel the slight draft from the chimney where he’d flown down as well as the slightly open door where Ollie was standing guard. It was always much easier to play with already-moving air and so he splayed his fingers wide and gathered it in his hands. Once he’d rolled it all into a ball, he pushed it toward the booths and the mini wind-funnel skirted over the tables, skittering one after the other. Napkins blew from the dispensers and the salt and pepper turned over and got all over the table and seats.
Then Urchin came back and Nemo’s smile leaped back onto his face. He jumped up and caught it. “Nice!” he crowed and then went to work saran-wrapping everything together.
He forgot all about the guilt he’d felt earlier-- the slight panic, that stray thought whispering what would happen if he got caught? Now, all he was thinkin’ about was how fun this was.
Soon they finished, all the saran wrapped up. “Are we done?” Nemo said as he popped up, going back to Louie’s side since he seemed-- well. He was in charge, wasn’t he? He bounced a little on his toes, ready to perform a few more wind-tricks if he needed to.
LOUIE
Louie glanced around the room, looking at all the chaos around them. They had done a spectacular job on sabotaging the place. He was honestly impressed by everyone’s initiative. He needed to keep a note of this. From this day forward, if there ever was a guy that wronged one of them, Louie felt they had the perfect solution.
“I’d say so. We’ve definitely made a mess of the place. Suck it Gaston,” Louie added, as if the man was around to hear it. Well...maybe he’d just write it. No. They’d done a good job without that. “Time to make a hasty exit. Ollie, look and see if the coast’s clear? From there we get the hell outta here. We’ve done important work lads. I’ll never forget it.”
OLLIE
Ollie let out a laugh, so many of his ideas had been thrown to the literally as everyone took it and ran with it. A part of him felt bad until he remembered it was Gaston and he didn’t feel bad anymore. Ducking his head out Ollie listened to everything around the place.
“We’re good to go. Remember what happens at the Deer stays at the Deer.” Ollie teased ushering the guys out. “Let’s get out of here.”

__________
Dream sequence
"I am so happy!!"- Y/N/E says kissing Elijah, smiling as she pulls him onto bed with her. "Oh, me too. Eloping was the best idea"- Elijah says slowly working his way through the side buttons of her wedding dress as she places kisses on his nose,  on his cheek, on his lips, on his neck, feeling how his hand slides through the opening of the dress around her back making her tremble with passion arising . "I so want you"- she makes a little gasp as their eyes meet for a second. "Always-"-he gasps back. "Always!"- Elena mutters and as he moves forward to kiss her she is not there. He frantically gets up and walks through a door into nothing.
The buzzing now broke Elijah from sweet dream. Looking around, he reached for the phone on the night stand. Seeing it was  Dr Fell’s number, he swiped it open in a flash-
”Hello-"-he said with a hollow feeling in his stomach kicking in. For some strange reason, his first thought is panic.
"Dr Fell here-"-Meredith said. "Yes-"-Elijah said cutting in. "Your wife- Y/N/E- woke up-" "What- she did? Really?"- his voice was elated not entirely comprehending still  if this was a dream or reality.
Meredith continued- "Yes, your wife is awake. I will speak to you when you get here."
"Yes. I am on my way"- Elijah said and they both hung up.
He dressed as fast as he could. Taking his car keys, he now called Miranda Gilbert to let her know Y/N/E got out of the vegetative state, as he solemnly promised her he would and then Rebekah, who jumped out of her bed after hearing the news.
As he was driving to the hospital, he tried the fight a terrible thought out of his mind- something is not right- Meredith sounded way too serious. Something is not right. Something is not right. Please, let it be right.
In the hospital
Meredith and her team had already done the first tests as Y/N/E woke up. It was two hours earlier.
Though it was 6.a.m., she now placed a call to her colleague, who was the best in the field of neurology and post-coma recovery.
"Hey, Stefan"- Meredith said-"I hope you had your run already"
"Yes. Just got out, I’m having some breakfast. I guess it must be something important to call me so early"-Stefan said.
"Oh, yes. Y/N/E Mikaelson is awake"
"Finally"- Stefan said-"so, the new meds worked?!"
"They did. I need you to come and do some more tests. I am flying to Italy to a conference this afternoon, and I need you to take over for me till I get back"
"Sure. I'll be there in half an hour"- Stefan confirmed.
"Thanks"- Meredith hung up and went to get all preliminary analysis from the team.
And Y/N/E? She looked at everyone like a scared animal, trying to comprehend what was going on. She tried to say something, but her brain was not letting her and feeling a frustration set in, she just made an uncontrollable sound.
*Whatever challenge life throws in front of you, never stop, never kneel down and think this it, you can't do way more, If you are beaten down, you keep being kicked over and over again, You get up and you dust yourself off And walk with your head held high
Words came floating out of nowhere into Y/N/E's head.
"Don't strain yourself"- dr Black, one of the neurologist of the team, said to Y/N/E now -"Dr Meredith will do some more tests, and for now just answer these questions by blinking with your eyes- once for yes and two for no. And if you are not sure hold your hand up. Ok?"
Y/N/E blinked once. Feeling a tad bit calmer.
“Good.” - dr Balck said smiling reassuringly-”Can we go on?”
Y/N/E blinked again for a yes.
And they proceeded with the tests.
By that time Elijah had arrived with Rebekah following right behind him, they were still going through with the last test. He wanted to get in Y/N/E's room, but he was asked to wait a little while longer.
"What is going on? Please tell me! I need to know - whatever it is-"-he said nervously looking at Rose, who now tried to calm him down by telling him that they were still with Y/N/E running the last tests.
Rebekah calmed Elijah down making him see that it was routine like Rose had explained.
Elijah, who had always been the most comprehensive and patient one, now walked through the doors of the unit where Y/N/E's room was. Rebekah followed him. And as he nearly got to the room, Meredith got out almost bumping into him.
"Oh, Mr Mikaelson-?!"- Meredith was startled a bit.
Elijah gathered himself a bit now taking a step back realizing that his emotions completely took over him- "I apologize-I just-"
"It's all right. I understand. Please- let me tell you first -"
"Is she all right? What is going on?"-Elijah asked.
Before Meredith could answer, Miranda and Greyson burst in and having picked up on Elijah's anxiety now urged Meredith to speak.
"Calm down, please. Y/N/E is fine, but not entirely. Not just yet.Can we go to my office and I will explain"- Meredith said and urged them to follow her to the nurses station, where she could explain exactly what the first results were showing and how they will approach Y/N/E.
"She is still very disorientated. Her speech is impaired, and she can only answer questions with mimics. She does comprehend where she is, and the EEG and CT scan show no brain damage, but she suffers a great memory loss. When asked about her name she could not answer with a yes, but with 'I am not sure'. So, when you get in you need to be very calm, positive. Don't get alarmed if she is not responding to you at all."
Elijah nodded. His heart was joyous but at the same time felt like it was pierced with a dull knife.
As he was her next of kin, he had the right to go first, which had bothered Greyson immensely.
"We will never get rid of these Mikaelsons"- he sifted trying very hard to keep his cool.
"Not today Greyson, please!"- Miranda pleaded.
At the same time, Elijah just passed by Rebekah signaling silently with his eyes that things were equally good and bad, to which Rebekah just sighed a little and made a small prayer for things to get better. She sat down and now answered both messages Kol and Klaus sent, as she had notified them as well about the whole going ons.
*
There were challenges in their lives. They faced them all. Now another one looms in front of them. And it felt like he was walking through the darkest night for quite some time now. And the phone call felt like the dawn broke finally. The sun is here... to rise. But not yet. Not just yet. One challenge more. Nevermind. They will meet it head on, as they have always done.Together.
Elijah walked in the room putting a wholehearted smile on, his eyes sparkling with the grandest happiness as he comes near her.
"Y/N/E-"- he said dearly-"hello there"
She looked back at him with her charcoal warm eyes. Blank.
"It's me. Elijah"- he sat down on the chair that was put beside the bed for him.
Y/N/E now let just the sound of the first letter of his name.
"E..."- but she could not pronounce his name. She moved her head towards Davina putting her hand up slightly. Then again she turned to face Elijah again. Now blinking twice with her eyes.
"Darling- what is it? Sweetheart- I didn't mean to upset you"- Elijah said dearly now reaching for her hand.
Davina now came forward  seeing Y/N/E being tad bit agitated-
"All is fine. Don't strain yourself. "
And then she turned to Elijah, and now blinked twice with her eyes for no.
"I am so sorry. She doesn't recognize you." - Davina said.
Elijah took a silent breath as this came as blow, even though he knew this could be her probable reaction.
"Small steps"- Davina said seeing this so many times with other patients and their loved ones, not responding as they had hoped they would.
Elijah nodded and looked at Y/N/E who seemed to have relaxed a bit. She closed her eyes for a moment. He caressed her hand with his thumb gently. It seemed she didn't mind that. She was calm, now just looking at him, with eyes of a lost vulnerable deer.
“My darling”- Elijah muttered, swallowing his tears.
____
Meanwhile
Kol an Klaus waited for Rebekah in a restaurant for lunch. Ever since Y/N/E's accident Elijah shut down an had not spoken to them at all. She was the bridge between them and him.
Flashback
Few days before Y/N/E's attack
"I don't understand how you and Kol still don't see that the Gilberts are full of pain and they are blinded by it"
"It's not that. But I have to support mother and father, and Kol. This whole witch-hunt against Kol has damaged our business. It gave us a bad name and people have pulled out of five of our most important projects."-Klaus said adding -"Mother said to invite you both to father's birthday party next weekend"
"What? No. And treated Y/N/E like a ghost. She doesn't deserve this."- Elijah pointed out.
"And the Gilberts? How do they treat you? You said that Greyson asked you not to come to his house again?!"-  Klaus reminded his brother-"and you were just there to pick Y/N/E up."
"I can't believe I am hearing this. So, now you are going to ignore her, too?"
"I am not saying that, but this will be hard."
Rebekah strolled in and waved a little at them as she saw them sitting at their favourite table. Once, the four of them had the greatest time there, always joking, but also sharing the hardest moments. But that seemed like thousand years ago.
Finally, Rebekah sat down and ordered a large Cosmopolitan.
"It's that bad?!"- Kol said by the way his sister ordered her drink.
Rebekah updated them fully.
"How is Elijah?"- Klaus then asked.
"What do you think?"- Rebekah said taking a sip of her drink.
"I tried to call him"- Kol said-"but he had just blocked me. This cannot go on like that anymore. We messed up. But we really want Y/N/E to be all right. In all this- Elijah, has always tried to do his best for everyone, and now is paying the highest price. And I don't know how to make this better."
"It's not you guys, you know that. He just broke. Remember what they had said back then when she just got out of the surgery "- Rebekah said.
"They don't think she would ever wake up"- Klaus murmured concluding.
"How is he going to tell her that they lost the baby, too- huh- can we ever get a break-"Rebekah said.
"I am going over to him, tonight!"- Kol said resolved.
"It's not a good idea"- Rebekah said.
"It's never going to be a good idea."- Klaus remarked-"but we have to break this silence somehow. And maybe it is good that he kicks and screams at us. I am ready to take anything he will dish out"
"Me, too"- Kol said.
Rebekah sighed a little, but knowing her brothers, she knew that whatever she said now would not matter.
****
In the hospital  Meredith introduced Dr Stefan Salvatore to Elijah. As Y/N/E was fell in her vegetative state nearly a year ago, Elijah spent researching about patients who were in the same condition as his wife, as well as about the recovery once they wake up. He knew of different rehabilitation centers already, and among others, he knew exactly what Stefan's center offered-
"Nice to meet you"- Elijah said-"I have considered your Rehabilitation Center. If I choose you I want the best team to work with my wife, with Y/N/E. I am willing to make a substantial donation for all your other programs as well."
"I was informed that you have already donated, not once. It helped so much with the research."- Stefan said.
"Yes. I- well-"- Elijah sighed-"Sorry that I spoke about money, the donations. You have to excuse me. I - can we reschedule this- Tomorrow?"- Elijah said suddenly feeling like his head was going to explode if he stayed with them a little while longer.
"Of course. Here is my card. Call me anytime you want."- Stefan said.
"Thank you."- Elijah took the card and apologized once again for cutting the meeting short.
Both Meredith and Stefan were very understanding. It was an extremely overwhelming day for him.
As he got out of Meredith's office, he went back to Y/N/E's room. But he didn't get in. He stayed outside, in the little corridor, looking through the window for a while. Y/N/E was now resting. Rose had just checked on her drip and seeing him there then came out to let him know that it was perfectly all right for him to get in.
"Thank you. I just - I feel like - I don't want to agitate her. Dr Fell explained how important it is that she stayed calm."- he said.
"I heard things didn't go well with her parents either"- Rose said-"I am sorry."
"It was all too much at once"- Elijah said-"but she will be fine."- he gazed at his wife as his heart drummed with hope.
Rose now left him.
"Always"- he whispered sending her a kiss putting his hand on the glass.
As he got out of the hospital, he went to walk fo a while. He needed to have a moment to himself, to take all that went on, in. His phone buzzed incisively, and he ignored every call. It was his family. Even his mother. He knew Rebekah had notified everyone. And he was not angry. But he felt he needed time on his own. His heart was heavy, but it was singing as well. She was awake. One day at the time. There is always hope. And hope had never left him.

Elsewhere
Rebekah let herself, Klaus and Kol into Elijah's apartment. This was not a clever move, knowing their brother would probably go ballistic, but they decided that it was the way it was going to be. A bit later, upon entering the apartment, Elijah was met by Rebekah, who told him straight out that Klaus and Kol were there as well. Elijah was calm at first when he entered the living room and then burst out shouting at them-
"I don't want you here. GET OUT"- gesturing with his hand to the door.
"No!"- Kol said-"we are not going anywhere! Not anymore! We all made a huge mistake for not coming to you earlier.Your pain is my pain. This is what you said to me when I was in jail and they wouldn't let me get bail. I was so self-absorbed in what was going on with me that I didn't get it. Then. And then, I got out-"
"I don't want to hear it."- Elijah cut him off moving aside again showing with his hand to the door-"please- I can't"
Klaus remained quiet, looking at Rebekah, who was now crying.
And Kol continued-"Please, let your pain be my pain now. Please!"
Elijah looked at his brother. He could see in his eyes, in his voice that he meant what he said.
Klaus then got up-
"We have failed you and we can't take that back. I wish I could, but we can't. Let us-  start showing you that you are not alone. You have always been there for us. Don't shut us out anymore."
Elijah took a deep breath. He had no strength, he felt. And he needed it, more than ever before. He had to be strong for Y/N/E. He needed his siblings, all of them.
"I- just-"- Elijah said -"I-"
"Shush for once and let your younger brothers - and sister- help you! Be your punchbag, whatever! Yeah?"
Elijah nodded and the four of them went into a very clumsy siblings group hug.
It felt like a new dawn. Rebekah pulled out the Scarlett O'Hara quote out later as they sat down for a take away. Tomorrow is another day.
Tomorrow was another day. Get up, dust yourself off and carry on. No matter how hard it was, even when it was bleak. You always have yourself, but if you have the love an support of your family an friends, you can make the world move.
Elijah called Miranda to discuss his decision to have Y/N/E admitted in the Salvatore Clinic.
"They do have the best results  in the Neuro-recovery program."- Elijah said.
"If you think so. I am eternally grateful to you for everything you have one for her."-Miranda said.
"I love you daughter. "- Elijah said
"I know. You have one all you could for Jeremy too. I am so sorry that Greyson can't see past the hate."
"He lost his only child. I understand"
"He loves Y/N/E as well, even though she is his brother's. How will she take all this? We never told her"
"None of this will be easy. It will all have to come in stages. I would like you to come to the meeting with Dr Salvatore"
"Thank you"- Miranda said.
"I will e-mail you all the details"-Elijah  said and after exchanging goodbyes he went to the hospital.
For the first month, Stefan asked him to stay away. As they wanted to avoid strong emotional moments could distort her memory even more. At least until she had found her ground in the world again. Slowly integrating the story of her life, people and friends, who she was.
Elijah was there every day, meeting with her psychiatrists and speech therapist, updating him on Y/N/Es progress.
"She really shows great will to speak and that is so good"- Bonnie said-"she is pronouncing all the words quite correctly now, as she really doesn't want to use the computer as means of communication. So, tomorrow, when you meet her - don't be alarmed if she still slurs."
Elijah nodded-"Thank you Dr Bennett-Salvatore"
"I have not seen such strong will in a patient. I believe she will recovery fully."- Bonnie smiled a little- "she is quite remarkable"
"She is."- Elijah said flashing back to the time they first met.
Flashback
In a bar, ten years previously
"Come on, I have to introduce you to someone"- Sophie said to Elijah.
"Please, I really don't want to meet anyone. This another hook up you and Rebekah are planting on me. I am really not in the mood."
"It is not. She is a friend of a friend. She is an artist. Sculptor, actually. She is absolutely amazing- she is the one who made ‘The Woman with a Heart’"
"Ok?"- Elijah didn't know what his sister-in-love was talking about.
"Ugh! Don't you read papers? She won the award for it. Ah, nevermind."- Sophie was giving up.
And then Y/N/E came around the corner heading to the bar where Sophie and Elijah stood- and he looked at her as if an angel had descended from up above.
Sophie waved at her and Y/N/E came their way greeting them both in a sweet manner.
"Hey-"- Sophie said-"this is my brother-in- law Elijah Mikaelson"
Elijah and Y/N/E looked at one another as if lost in time and space.
Somehow at one point Elijah slipped a hello there- and Y/N/E repeated his name accentuating it in a special way-
"Elijah-" then making a slight pause introducing herself- "Y/N/E-"
"Y/N/E-"- he said dearly with a sweet smile flickering in his eyes.
That was the first time they met.
At home that night he was was wondering what it would be like. She didn't remember their first meeting. At least not yet. Tomorrow, it would be like meeting again for the first time. It didn't matter. What mattered was that she was recovering. That her physical health was showing great improvement, and with that her mental health would too. Stefan reassured him on the daily basis.
Rebekah, Kol and Klaus gave him the biggest boost ever that evening when they came for supper, as they all noticed that how strung up he was.
“So, this is going to be like every evening now?”- he said as he got in the apartment.
“Get used to it”- Klaus said handing him a glass of the best Bourbon.
“Thank you.”- Elijah said tearing up now.
“Hey - this is what brothers and  a sister are for. “_ Kol said now patting his brother on the arm a bit.
Elijah sighed and nodded a little.
“Come on, let’s eat then”- Rebekah invited them now to the dining room.
The siblings now all went to eat together, and the night was spent revoking great memories from the childhood as well as Elijah’s escapades with Y/N/E.

The next day, just before he entered her room, he spoke briefly to Damon, who was Y/N/E's speech therapist.
"She is waiting for you"- Damon said-"she has practiced your name quite a lot - she is ready."
"Right"- Elijah said, feeling strangely nervous. With a little nod from both Bonnie, who also was there, he now entered the room.
Y/N/E was at the window, and as he got in, she turned around, putting a little smile on.
"Eli-jah"- she said.
"Y/N/E-hello"
"Hello-"- she paused a little and then said- "how- are you?"
"How am I?"- Elijah said faintly and tried to keep his tears at bay- walking towards her slowly-"I am fine". Y/N/E sat down on the chair at a little table. He pulled up a chair and sat down next to her. She looked well, even though her eyes still had a glimmer of being lost. He could see that they were looking at him as this stranger. Bonnie had told him that she had not recognized anyone from the photos they had been showing her. But that she only associated names with them.
"You are my - hus-band"- Y/N/E said.
"Yes. I am your husband"- Elijah said and clumsily now continued-"ahm- here- these are flowers I brought for you. They are your favourite"
Elijah now passed her the bunch of flowers that she took, and immediately went to smell them. It was something she had always done whenever he brought the flowers to her.
"Wha-t are the-y?"- Y/N/E asked.
"Sweet peas"- Elijah said.
"And  this-"- Y/N/E then took a photo that was standing on the little table- "you and me"
"Yes. You and me. That was taken on our first anniversary."- Elijah said.
"Annive-"- Y/N/E was not sure what the word meant.
"The celebration- one year after we got married. We had a party. You have always loved that photo of us. And I brought more."- Elijah now took the album out of the bag he had brought putting it on the table.
"Show-show me"- Y/N/E said.
"Ok"- he took the album out and handed it to here. Y/N/E now flicked it open.
