Another reason why Rose is the greatest love the Doctor will ever have is that he was domestic to her. Seriously. The Doctor claimed that he was not the domestic type, and that he would not let Rose bring about this change. Yet that’s what he became. We literally see him spending time at Rose's house, with Jackie who they visit. God, the first thing he did as Ten was spend Christmas with Rose and her family. Their family. Note that after the RTD period, we never again saw the Doctor do such a thing with a companion's family. When Eleven moved in with Amy and Rory, he could barely sit still for a few hours, that's saying something. But with Rose, he was a domestic. He wanted to settle down. He was tired of traveling. After her in the series, that was no longer the case. And somewhere, in another universe, the Doctor is with Rose, living a domestic life. The one he always wanted from the moment he met her.

Thinking about nine again. Fucking love nine. Nine's the love of my life. He was the sweetest most precious little man. He was full of heart, completely honest and walking around like an open wound. He was telling everyone exactly what he felt what he thought what he cared about. Never holding back. He knew what he was and he was carrying that history on his shoulder and never denying it either. He loved rose freely cuz he knew how important love is. He shared wisdom cuz he knew how much can be changed by words. He was kind, oh so kind cuz he knew how much people needed kindness. He took no bullshit and truly ignored every single stupid or unnecessary rule or restriction that he or anyone else was faced with.He was the most naturally humanitarian of all the doctors in this bone deep and sincere way. Doctor Who ... as a cultural monument, is absolutely beautiful

Let's strip this down to its basics, the bare minimum

This is a creative work spanning longer than some countries have been alive.

It's told every story there is to tell under the sun in its' 60 year reign of existence, some of them twice

hell, some of them thrice

let's add a layer in

This show tells of a man, the same man, the same continual man through every iteration.

This is not a show with a Cast of Characters at its heart, this is a show with one man, one man who you can know all there is to know about them in one word

He's simple

so simple

He's a Doctor

but, simply by virtue of Going Outside, getting involved, existing, slowly builds up a legend, a mythos

He wanders, a nobody, some dude in a box, but by virtue of wandering, of getting involved, of talking to people, his echoes have become ripples have become waves have become Universal Events.

He is no one special.

The one advantage he has over anyone is time.

Just that

time and the ability to move through it

Worlds eventually get caught in his wake

Demons bend the knee to his command

Paradoxes form around his life.

He's the most complicated person in the universe

He's so simple

He's what any of us would become, left to wander, I think.

If we kept hope.

He's just some guy

The doctor regenerations as people you may know

9- 9 is the cool uncle who you never really knew existed before he randomly showed up at a party and everyone reaction was just "oh... he came..." But he's super cool and is the first person to really let you just have fun. He definitely snuck you out in the middle of the night one time to do some crazy fun stuff and told you not to tell mom.

10- 10 is your best friend who you met a bit later in life. You've both had some life experience which makes you a bit different but in the best way possible, you get along really well and you're both old enough by now to just go "hey, wanna go do some weird shit?" And they're totally down for it every time.

11- 11 is like your little brother. He's quirky and weird and goes through a bit of an emo phase (where he gets a really random group of friends but they're also pretty cool) but he always perks back up and is the happy guy you know and love. He likes to tag along with you wherever you go because he likes to be close to those he cares for but is not a fan of kissing at all. Oh and he loves dinosaurs.

12- 12 is like that one random coworker you get along with so well but it doesn't make sense to anyone around you because of the huge age gap. He lets you figure out right and wrong for yourself but it's always there when he knows you really need it. Overall just a great guy with some really cool hobbies that don't seem to fit him at all but also make so much sense. He's also randomly very funny.

13- 13 is the fun older sister who you never really got along with when you were younger but now that she's an adult and has her own life, you two are inseparable. She'll call you and tell you to get ready to go cause she's on her way to come get you when it's either 6am or 11pm and you just go with it cause you know it's gonna be a great time. Random trips to the closest amusement park? All the time. Little trips to the mall just to people watch? Literally whenever and wherever. You two will talk about anything and everything cause she's just so fun to be around.

Today I literally saw someone explain that the relationship between Rose and the Doctor (Nine / Ten / Tentoo) didn't look much like a love story because even though the Doctor seemed to love Rose, her, well she didn't really (or that much) seem to like the Doctor romantically in return, thus unbalancing the relationship as a romance... Excuse me, but... WTF ?!
