Long Emily design explanation/rant thing ignore it probably but pls dotn im desperate: I wanted to make her more round and soft cuzzz I love those typa designs I'm just a sucker for circle characters. Made her actually black and not fuckin gray cuz its a transformation to look more human and gentle(for me they go between two forms, their true ones that we see the first time we see them snd their human/softer ones if they ever interact with actual humans which... they usually dont.) Not a demon form tfff. In this version I wanted to put Emily in animal inspired features like... the sheep nose, ears, and hooves. Because she and Sera know that humans and about all beings love animals. Birds have sharp features mostly so they don't look as welcoming as they want to seem. I wanted Emily to look sheep likes and pretty much all the seraphim look more sheep like to make Lucifer stand out as the only one who was symbolized as a snake/goat(still don't know if I'll make him goat or make Lillith goat. I'll decide when I get there lmao). Justtt overalll wanted Emily to look more round, welcoming, and cute. I kept the freckles lighter than her skin color(even tho that's SUPER not accurate to what actually black people look like with freckles but whatevr) because it reminded me of fawns and.... sure Emily is a sheep but I still wanted to incorporate other cute animal traits with her cyz y not.

Honestly I'm rather out of the loop on this (since judging by the asks it happened like a week ago) and not sure why you'd ask for my opinion on it but ok. As I'm not particularly a fan of drama and also not really keen on playing a giant game of Telephone, my first (and probably final) outlook on this is literally like

Oh wait a final note - if I know anything about online drama culture though, it's that if there IS drama then some people are going to use it as an excuse to be assholes to other people. If you are engaging in such behaviour I would suggest that you think about whether you would want such actions to be done against you, and if not, don't do it to other people.

viktor - 🍺(beer) - camaraderie, full 'bro'-ness, or a turn to reliance on alcohol? he doesn't have powers anymore; would he find it good that he won't blow up the world, or bad because he's ordinary?

luther - 🕺(dancing) - celebration? relaxation? maybe he finds sloane, or its a cover for not outright describing his arc. luther's also known for the crab move he does too.

diego - 📦(box/package) - new job? but it doesn't track, if he's back in vigilante gear. dad package? dad zone? a want to move out of hargreeves city? that last one is a maybe, but also unclear

lila - 🍼(baby bottle) - mothering, that baby for sure lived. i'd hate it if that's what she's reduced to, but i could get behind it if her arc was moving on from her own mommy issues with the handler. maybe it shifts her character, with someone else to care for – i hope she gets a scene with allison

allison - 👩‍👦(mom and child) - mothering 2, for an older kid, claire for sure. her actions and decisions will be family-oriented, something to finally keep her kid. she could be at odds with anyone from last season, but claire is what she'll stand for. (again, praying for a herxlila scene)

klaus - 🧽(sponge) - he's clean !!! and for sure levelling up further, or spiralling in. comics fans have gone on for years about bare feet and levitation, and maybe we'll finally get it.

ben - 🔒(lock) - maybe his true persona is locked? or he's locking himself away? we're still unclear as to whether this is Umbrella or Sparrow Ben, but the season could probably make that very point clear when it airs

five - 🕵‍♂️(detective) - detective mode !! they'll relegate five to being the brains of the operation once more. maybe he'll investigate the new universe, or reginald's motive and power himself.

reginald - 🧠(brain) - the key mind of this world. he programmed it, therefore he reaps his own rewards. we don't know yet how he's designed this world.

I used to be one of those guys when I first joined the Kirby fandom, but everytime I hear a discussion of the series writing that starts with "So the Lore is InSaNe-" and not like, "Kirby has a fun writing style that takes advantage of its cute exterior to tell cool stories that reward player's curiosity and leave lots of room for imagination-" I cringe so goddamn hard.

I kinda just hate that people approach things that encourage investment when they don't expect it as inherently absurd. Like it is fun to joke about how absurd Kirby lore can be, but it really often comes with an air of disrespect or exhaustion rather than like, appreciation that these games are made by people who want to tell interesting stories when they could easily make as much money just making polished enough fluffy kiddy platformers. And when it's not met with exhaustion, it's met with - like I said before - that tone that it's stupid for a series like this TO have devs who care about writing stuff for it. Which is a whole other thing about people not respecting things made to appeal to kiddie aesthetic or tone.

Maybe the state of low-stakes YouTube video essays just blows cause people play up ignorance and disbelief for engagement, but like I STG I hear people use this tone for like actual narrative based games sometimes. Some people don't like... appreciate when a game is made by people who care a shitton in ways that aren't direct gameplay feedback. And they especially don't appreciate it when it comes from something with any sense of tonal dissonance intentional or not.

Anyways, I love games made by insane people. I love games made by teams who feel like they wanna make something work or say something so bad. I love that energy, especially when invested into something that could easily rest on its laurels or which obviously won't be taken seriously. I love this in a lot of classic campy 2000s games, I love this in insanely niche yet passionate fanworks, and I love it in the Kirby series and its writing. Can we please stop talking about it like it's an annoyance or complete joke?
