craziest thing ever is people will reenact something they saw on tiktok at varying degrees of safety and the sub sub genre of these videos which is someone taking rping as their cat on social media to another level
How do you feel about those chef cat videos? I dont know a lot about cats but im pretty sure holding your cats arms and forcing them to hold foods that could harm them is bad
so i watched a LOT of chef cat videos to try to answer your question, and i have come to a conclusion:
those videos are being made with the help of a puppet.
if you look closely at the paws holding the various items like the foods, tools, etc, you will notice the texture of the fur is often very different from the texture of a cat’s normal paws. that is because the fur is fake. the person making the videos is using prop cat arms for almost all of the manipulation of objects.
you can also see in this screencap that the whole reason the cat is wearing clothes is to hide the fact that it has little prop feet that are not connected to its body! behold:
in most of the videos i watched, the cat only sits at the table and doesn’t do anything except fail to make appropriate eye contact with the phone screen :p the cat IS pretty chill and seems mostly disinterested in what is going on. in some of the hats its ears appear to be flattened but i believe this is because of the shape of the hats -- in the chef hat, ears are up. in the baseball cap, ears are flat. the noises are all stock sounds -- the cat doesn’t actually do any of the meows or hisses.
so basically, this is all totally staged and you do not have to feel bad for enjoying these videos!
