oooooo white people in my replies really saying ‘I can excuse racism but I draw the line at homophobia’

Not surprised since this is the site that only talks about racism and thinks it’s a big deal when they see it demonstrated in the cartoons and comics they like *coughs* dungeonmeshi *coughs* (for example at least. I haven’t seen THIS many white ppl talk as in depth about racism on here as much as these fandom nerds, man. I stg. Like “Ohhhh, so you all DO acknowledge that racism is real? Just not in real life even if you could feel it slapping you in the face at high speed. Gotcha.” It’s crazy.

Tumblr is like, 90% white and is extremely centered around them. That’s why you barely see stuff that’s important to black and brown people ever trending here or being talked about. It has to be something incredibly huge to the point where even white people can’t ignore it like they usually do, to talk about it here.

They only talked about George Floyd here because the topic of his death became world news. Even people in other countries were talking about it. Before him, it was probably Ferguson and Trayvon Martin… most of them are still trying their best to ignore the genocides because it’s a “touchy subject.” What do you expect from white people who live in their own bubbles of comfort and refuse to pop it with a needle??? They find comfort in their privilege and faux ignorance (they love playing stupid to avoid conversations about important things outside of fandoms like, are these mfs born with half a brain dedicated to fandom or what.) That’s literally all these mfs make a big deal out of, especially on this annoying ass platform. The ao3 mfs will go to war for the site that allows racist ff and cp like it’s no big deal. I wonder how many people here even donated to the site while actively scrolling past dono posts from folks who really do need help. They act like they’re doing a civil service by defending this site that makes over the amount of it’s intended dono goal in minutes.

Then you already know as soon as you even bring up racism in the stuff they like, they start ganging up and harassing black bloggers especially, calling them TERFs and the whole nine. Anything to make that person look bad for being concerned about the racism that they have such an intense aversion to. God, it’s absolutely exhausting knowing that these people would have no problem choosing a cartoon character over your entire existence if they COULD. Isn’t that fucking sad, man?

Steve and Eddie have finished decorating their new apartment. It’s not their first Christmas together, but it’s their first Christmas in a home of their own. Robin will be coming to stay with them in a few days and Dustin will come up for a day or two as well.

But for tonight, they’re alone (well, alone plus Pippin, the tabby kitten they rescued earlier in the year) basking in their accomplishment.

And, soon, they’re going to snuggle down on the couch with their spiked cocoa and watch Gremlins, while the lights they strung above the couch twinkle down on them, and Pippin plays with the baubles on the tree that lists to one side, and Steve will fall asleep halfway through the movie, and Eddie won’t make it to the end either, and they’ll wake up with cricks in their necks but they’ll wake up in their apartment with their decorations and that’s what matters most

okay, i know i’ve rambled about this before, but i don’t care.  i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who leaves such nice comments on my art. seriously, the käärijä fandom here on tumblr is probably one of the nicest ones i’ve been part of. i originally thought i would post one, maybe two drawings here and that’s it. but all your nice comments gave me so much motivation to make more, it’s insane. there were times, when i would draw one picture in an entire year, now i’ve drawn nine pictures in the span of a month and i still haven’t lost my motivation.  which is incredible, especially considering, that i have been doing really bad mentally for a while now, and i usually don’t touch a pen during those times at all.

Okay, Can We Take A Moment to Examine This Scene..

Y’all know the scene in Tazzy Chris where the children accidentally hit a baseball into Zach’s house, and they come with their dog to retrieve it? Yeah you do, this episode is legendary in the Wild Kratts Fandom…lol.

But something happened that I’ve hinted at before, but really just realized. Zach was yelling at the kids and dog for disturbing him, and they were visibly scared.

Zach demands they go away in a hateful tone with a defensive and aggressive stance, but when he realizes he has scared them he adjusts his voice, word choice, and attitude.

His voice takes on a defeated tone, the words he speaks change from ones of aggression to ones of mild annoyance. He initially yells “go away” then reverts to “stop bugging me,” and his body language also shows not aggression but defeat.

It is like he’s realized that his treatment of the kids and the dog was inappropriate. He knew he scared them, and he felt bad for it. And, since the whole point of this episode was centered around him making security bots to keep the kids away from his house, it made me realize, he did not want to be the one responsible for that task. He did not want to have to confront them and experience another scene like that.

I know this scene might seem mundane, but it leaves me with a lot of unanswered questions, it makes me wonder if Zach, momentarily, realized he was bullying the children? For example, was he thinking about his past experiences with the Kratt Brothers, and did this help him to see he was doing the same thing to the kids?

It is scenes like this that help me to be on the “Zach Can Change For The Better” team.

every time someone asks me how i do this shit i have to regrettably inform them that the real genuine answer is that i am fucking insane. my 2 passions in life are writing and video games and the place where the 2 converge fascinates me to no end and i am that special kind of crazy that is capable of latching onto something and not thinking about anything else for 10 years. so. the only thing i have cared about deeply for the last several years of my life has been the way video games are written and constructed. and zelda is one of the most interestingly constructed franchises i have found to date. these games are just like. the absolute perfect story for my brain to work with and i truly do not know who i would be without them. and i am genuinely incredibly grateful that ive been able to build a platform where people like. CARE about what i have to say and take the time to ask me to think about the games because like. i would be doing it ANYWAY but knowing that there are people who actually read my analysis and appreciate the amount of thought i put into this stuff makes me really happy lol
